My daughter had a reaction/chemical burn to Millie moon diapers. I contact the company when this happened & they said nothing had changed in their diapers but I used these with my first child and they were the only diapers I used and only ones I bought from my daughter. I have been seeing more moms say the same thing is happening to their children so I wanted to report it. My daughter started having these diapers around march 23-24th, 2026. She started getting red all the time down there and I thought it was because she constantly was usuing the bathroom but it kept getting worse no matter what I did. So I switched to another brand for 24 hours and it began clearing up. I went back to Millie moon. I did a different box & sized up to size 1 because even the elastic part that wrapped around her legs were red the previous diaper which was newborn so I sized up and within several house she got super red and even was going across her belly where the top of the diaper touched it was SO red then she began to get little bumps that were yellow so it was starting to burn her skin. I quickly changed brands and it cleared up in a few days.

I have a 4 week old baby and we started using the Millie Moon diapers about 2 weeks ago. Since we did, we noticed a diaper rash. We started making changes and putting on creams but it kept getting worse and now almost looks like a chemical burn. It wasnt until I realized this happened when we switched to these diapers and researched that tons of other moms had the same reaction to these diapers. Have been using Millie Moon diapers several times over the last 9 months. Recently purchased a box of Millie Moon Size 3 diapers on 4/24/2026 from Target. Upon using the diapers, (5/1/2026), my child broke out in a rash that, despite all types of interventions, would not heal. Rash began to spread from lower belly button to lower back, covering entire diaper area. Rash became inflamed, blistering, and extremely painful for my daughter. Upon changing diaper brands, the rash has finally started to look like it is healing.

Have been using Millie moon diapers for a while and had recently opened a new box of diapers. I was using them and changing my babies diaper every 2 hours and she randomly got a little rash. It started out small and then suddenly it had gotten bigger and bigger until it cover the whole front area. I tried changing wipes, 3 different diaper creams, aquaphor and even baths and a little lotion and nothing helped. It was like this for about 2 weeks before I switched diapers. Once I switched diapers it cleared up in just a couple of days and have not had a problem since.

I unfortunately do not have a box with the requested information below as I always throw out the diaper box after opening it to make space in my daughters closet and did not have reason to think I needed to hang onto it since we have been using these diapers for 15 months. The photo attached includes a diaper from an old box (white waistband) next to a diaper from the new box (pattern goes all the way up to the waistband)
We have been using Millie Moon diapers since my daughter was born 15 months ago with no issues. I recently opened up a new box I got from Target. The diapers clearly looked and felt different from our previous boxes due to the pattern on the fabric not extending through the front upper waistband. I read online the formulation is unchanged however. After wearing diapers from the new box for about 24 hours she developed a pretty red rash with raised welts. After I realized the new box of diapers might be the problem I switched to a different diaper brand and the rash immediately started to go away. She also leaked through the diaper throughout the night (wet through the diaper, pajamas, sleep sack, and onto her sheets). The incident of the diaper not holding up overnight is what initially raised my concern as this has never happened before.

My son (22 months) experienced a severe rash on this lower abdomen and inner thigh that I believe was caused by Millie Moon diapers which we use nightly since he was born without issue until now. Deep red, irritated, dry, and flaky skin started appearing in mid-March. We have tried several lotions and creams, including hydrocortisone cream. My son had an AWFUL reaction which we first thought was a diaper rash but it would not go away with [REDACTED] max strength cream or any other diaper cream which has helped all previous rashes clear up within a few days. It was all over his butt and scrotum. It blistered up and he was crying inconsolably. Millie moon size 5 diapers were used. We bought a new pack and it seems the designs have changed since the last time we bought these same diapers which leads me to believe they have changed something in production. I got them at target. It took me a minute to tie the rash to the diapers. Within a day of switching diapers we started seeing results but my poor baby was in SO much pain and agony it was terrible. I have never seen him cry like that. Seems like it was so extreme like a chemical burn this was way worse than any other reaction he has had and he is over 16 months old.

My newborn daughter was using Millie Moon diapers size newborn and size 1 and got a severe rash of some sort. The rash was on her butt, private area and inside thighs. It started as what looked like a typical diaper rash (red skin, irritation, discomfort by baby) then turned into a full blown chemical burn looking rash (red, raised welts, scabbing, peeling skin). The rash would not go away with use of various diaper rash creams. Once we stopped using the diapers and switched to a different brand, the rash went away. We used the newborn diapers at the beginning of 2026 and the size 1 diapers at end of January 2026. Both caused the same reaction and rash went away with switching to a different diaper.

We bought a new box of Millie Moon diapers in March 2026. We have been using Millie Moon since March 2025. We have had no issues prior to March 2026. However, with this new box, my son experienced severe diaper rash and chemical burns all over his butt and genitals. It was extremely painful for him, and he was basically traumatized by the experience. It took a couple of weeks before we were able to give him a diaper change without a fight.

We have been using Millie Moon Diapers since 2024. We have never had an issue. About 8 months ago we switched to a different brand, when that brand was recently sold out we went back to our trusted Millie Moon Diapers. Almost immediately I noticed what looked liked blisters on my sons bottom. With in 24 hours his bottom continued to get red and inflamed and almost looked like burns or blisters. My 5-month-old infant experienced a severe skin reaction consistent with a chemical or contact burn after wearing Millie Moon diapers purchased at Target.
The first incident occurred on or about November 15, 2025. Within hours of wearing the diaper, she developed bright red skin in the diaper area with raised welts, open wounds, and peeling skin. She was uncomfortable and in pain. The injury resolved after the diaper brand was discontinued.
A second incident occurred on January 29, 2026, after reintroducing the same brand of diaper. Again, within hours, she developed intense redness, raised welts, open skin, and peeling in the diaper area. She was visibly distressed and cried when diapered or cleaned.
Symptoms improved when the diaper brand was removed and the infant was kept diaper-free. No other products were changed. The repeat reaction following re-exposure suggests a product-related chemical or contact injury.
Medical evaluation and documentation were sought.

I used a sample Millie Moon diaper on my baby. The diaper appeared soft, well-made, and fit properly. Within a short time, my baby began crying in pain for approximately two hours. We went to the emergency room, where an exam and urine test ruled out infection. The physician determined the diaper caused a chemical burn-type irritation across the entire area it contacted. My baby has no sensitive skin, allergies, or prior rash history. We have had no issues with other brands such as [REDACTED]. This was an isolated and severe reaction, consistent with chemical or material irritation. This incident caused significant pain and distress and may indicate a safety issue with the materials or manufacturing of these diapers. Severe skin redness and chemical burntype irritation across the genital and inner thigh area. Infant experienced intense pain and continuous crying. My infant daughter began showing redness on her skin the morning after her first use of Mille Moon diapers. Within a couple of days, the redness progressed into what appeared to be a blister/chemical burn. I do not recall the exact day the blister first appeared, but I do have dated photos documenting the progression. Her pediatrician confirmed this was not a simple diaper rash and recommended specific treatment at home. The injury caused her pain and distress, and I have since stopped using the product. Update 9/25/2025: We ended up having to take our daughter in to the doctor to be prescribed two ointments to treat her wounds caused by the diapers.
UPDATED ON 11/17/2025: [Millie Moon responded to my report and said they reviewed their production and inspection records for this batch but found no irregularities. They also stated that no further testing could be done because they had a limited number of retained samples.
My child’s pediatrician confirmed that her skin reaction was caused by these diapers. I’ve decided to keep the remaining diapers and all documentation as evidence. I declined the company’s $100 [REDACTED] offer and storybook because I don’t consider this issue resolved.

We bought Millie Moon brand diapers from Target (which we have been using since birth- almost a year). My daughter got a rash about 3 weeks ago. I put cream and switched to cloth and it got better. I went back to Millie moon, and it came back even worse (not a typical diaper rash but rash on her hip around her stomach and back that favored a chemical burn. Every time I would switch to cloth, it would get better. This happened multiple times until I [REDACTED]. Turns out Millie moon has switched their formula and this is happening to SO many babies. No one was even told about this switch, and Millie moon is known for being a CLEAN brand, but now they have chlorine back into the diapers. I’ve used Millie Moon diapers from Target since my baby was 2 weeks old. Recently they changed their diapers and started adding chlorine to the pulp and did not disclose this change. My daughter who is 8 months old now has has constant inflamed skin and contact dermatitis that will not go away since the change in formulation. She had several doctor’s visits has required a few medications and ointments and the MD recommended changing diaper brands. Surging two days if the change her skin issues resolved. In going back to read recent reviews of the diapers this has been a common side effect for many babies.

Millie Moon changed the diaper formula from Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) to Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) pulp without communicating this change to the public or noting this change on their packaging. As a result, babies are breaking out with horrible diaper/chemical burn rashes. A statement was issued by Millie Moon on April 26, 2023 apologizing for not communicating this change to consumers who thought they were purchasing toxic free diapers for their babies.
I am writing to file a complaint against Millie Moon diapers and Target (where they are sold exclusively) since my 1 year old granddaughter, along with many other babies, have broken out in a horrible rashes and have chemical burns after Millie Moon switched the diaper formula from Totally Chlorine Free to Elemental Chlorine Free without informing the public.
On approximately June 10th, my daughter opened a new box of Millie Moon diapers dated February, 2023 which she bought at Target and the next day, my granddaughter had a horrible diaper rash which she never had before (she had been using Millie Moon diapers without any issue for year prior since they were advertised as totally chlorine free). There was no change in the appearance of the new diaper box and it looked exactly the same as others she had been using. Please note that there are NO ingredients listed any where on the box. Thankfully my daughter suspected the new diapers caused the rash and had sense enough to look at Target Millie Moon reviews. She was astonished and shocked to see so many recent reviews that over 200 babies have broken out in horrible rashes and burns, too.
My daughter needed to take my granddaughter to the doctor two times in the past 10 days since rash has gotten worse even though she stopped using Millie Moon diapers immediately after reading all the rash/chemical burn reviews on Target website. Although my granddaughter’s health is our main concern, I also should bring attention to the fact that my daughter had to take off from work two days, pay doctor bills for two visits and pay for prescriptions due to Millie Moon’s harmful product. Many other parents are in the same horrifying situation.
After receiving many complaints, Millie Moon issued a statement dated April 26, 2023 admitting that due to supply chain issues they switched the formula from TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) to ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) pulp and apologized for not communicating this change to the public. They said in the statement that the new diapers are safe and are suitable for sensitive baby skin which is 100% wrong. As previously mentioned, there are over 200 recent rash/chemical burn complaint reviews on Target website for Millie Moon diapers. Someone on your team needs to read them so they can see what is happening and protect other poor innocent babies from this occurring to them.
This has got to stop and these diapers need to be pulled from all the Target’s stores shelves immediately and Millie Moon must be held responsible for all the pain and trauma they put these innocent babies and their families through. I am sickened and appalled that a trusted company would put revenue over innocent babies health. Appropriate action must be taken immediately.
