    On December 23, 2020 my Frigidaire Stove Oven exploded causing the glass on the outer oven door to shatter completely to pieces. I was beginning to prepare Christmas dinner and heated the oven to 350. About an hour or so later after heating the oven, there was this a big loud boom/noise that came from the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen I noticed that glass was all over the floor !! It was a scary moment. I was anticipating that the stove was going to eventually blow up. My family and I felt so unsafe while we were in the house. We monitored the stove all night until we could contact someone Christmas Eve morning. We were all stunned in disbelief that this occurred. Our Christmas dinner was spoiled as I had to cook the meal at mom’s home, as she was cooking her meal. Very inconvenient. I thus learned that this did not just happen to me and that it has been happening for years and no one is doing anything about it!! I still have the stove as of December 26. I did speak with the warranty company and they scheduled a repairman to come out fix the stove the week of December 27, still making it inconvenient. The repair man came out to view the stove and advised that he needed to order the glass and that he would only be available on January 21, 2021 to install the glass! I then get an email on December 31, 2020 stating the there was a delay on one or more of the parts for the stove and that a replacement is being sought out! A replacement part! Come on! As of January 11, 2021 I have heard from no one the part. I am to afraid to cook on the stove not knowing what caused the explosion. The warranty company would not replace the stove. I guess they have to wait until the stove explodes again and someone gets seriously hurt. Thank GOD no one got hurt this time, although we are constantly sweeping the floor finding small fragments of glass. There has got some recourse in getting a new stove or something. I can’t cook meals for my family and can’t afford to buy a new stove. This is not fair to the consumer! I then learned that my stove is is discontinued. I’ve only had it for one year. I kindly ask what can I do to get this company to replace my stove. Please and thank you.

    Good Afternoon, Wanted to touch base with you regarding an incident we just had with the stove today. While standing in the kitchen the front glass of the stove seemed as if it shattered and blew out like an explosion. We had cooked on the stove top and oven about 2 hours prior to the incident. When this happened the lights in the kitchen flickered at the same time. I have attached pictures below and an recent article regarding these same kinds of incidents with this brand of stove. I have unplugged the unit. Please advise of what needs to be done next. I also have photos to show. Electric Range Model number is FFEF3054TS and Serial number is VF91621042 After the incident we contacted fridgedaire and they said they will repair the glass on 6th Jan. On 6 th Jan they called and told us no glass available and no idea when it will be coming. I have to spend 800$ to order new oven these people have taken granted the consumers this is ridiculous and should be taught lesson.

    I have a Frigidaire glass topped range and the front left burner comes on by itself. I reported to the manufacturer, but they told me it is my responsibility to fix it, since it was not under warranty . I explained my concern was a fire and a defective product, not fixing it. I would never trust leaving my home with a stove that ignites on its own. That didn’t seem to matter to their customer service rep. She would not let me speak to a supervisor. How many more stoves like this are out there?

    On Wednesday October 28th (today) our Frigidaire LFEF3054T D/F 30” Electric stove inner glass shattered sending 415 F glass pellets across our kitchen floors. It seems like a very dangerous failure and so I decided to report it immediately. Conditions were 71 degrees in the house normal humidity and oven temperature 415 F, nothing was touching the inner surface of the stove and I was the closest person to it. I had just walked in from work at 4:30 PM and my wife was using the stove to cook dinner. Nothing was on the cooktop just the chicken inside a glass container in the stove. A loud pop occurred followed by the glass collapsing in fingernail sized pieces and falling to the bottom of the stove, through the door seal and into the floor. The dish the chicken was in did not break and nothing else occurred outside of the door shattering. This stove was purchased from Lowes and we took possession/ it was delivered on July 23, 2019. It is a registered product. No injuries occurred, again I was closest to the stove and wearing thick soled shoes. Model No. LFEF3054TFG, Serial No. VF91914623 Pictures are available.

    Sometime last night the oven turned itself on. Both calrod units were hot, but not glowing. All of the controls were in the off position. There was no fault code or error code on the digital display. Unplugged the oven and when it was plugged back in it started heating again. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it or turn off the breaker at the electrical panel.

    On 09/22/2020 the outer glass door on my Frigidaire Electric Range suddenly exploded and hurled glass all over my kitchen. To date, I am still finding pieces of broken glass!

    Fortunately, no one was in the kitchen at the time or they would have been seriously injured. I want to report this incident because if my sister or I had been in the kitchen at the time, we would have been seriously injured by flying broken glass.

    It is to be noted that the oven had not even been used for several days when this incident happened.

    One of the burners of a Frigidaire smooth electric cooktop does not turn off via the control knob on the unit. It glows red and is extremely hot, even when the control knob is fully in the off position. The only way to turn the burner off is to shut off the circuit breaker. I am fearful of burns to persons or the start of a fire in our kitchen. My issue is with Frigidaire Model FEC30S6AB, Serial # NF71313444. I am the original owner of the cooktop. It has been used only for normal household cooking, never for a commercial purpose. It was installed on or about 10/29/2007. i do not know the date of manufacture.

    The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gallery 30” electric range

    We have had our Frigidaire Gallery series electric range for less than a year and one night as I was cooking dinner I removed the metal lid from my fry pan and set it on the stove, stirred my food a little and proceeded to put the lid back on the pan when it became stuck to the glass. So I left it alone while we ate and 10 minutes later heard the crack of the stove top. Everything was turned off, the part of the glass top that the lid was set on was not hot either as that was not the side I was cooking on. Have no idea why that happened, as I have certainly set a lid on the stove before. Nothing was dropped on it etc. Once I starting searching the internet about what happened, I starting reading about lots of others who had similar stories of their Frigidaire glass top cracking for no apparent reason. So I believe there is something faulty about the glass tops on these stoves. Thank God no one was hurt as there were little pieces of glass everywhere.

If you move the racks over the other side walls off the metal rails. VERY dangerous - we had guests 2 weeks ago that did not know this -- they placed a hot casserole on the upper rack and it collapsed on the right onto the lower rack -- the contents of the casserole burning her arm.     Upon cleaning the top inside of our Frigidaire, 30 inch, electric range, oven door, my wife ripped her left index finger on a very sharp edge and had to seek medical attention on 5/9/20. This is a new unit purchased from Home Depot on 11/20/19. It is model number FGEH3047VDA, serial number VF94616102. The sharp edge is on both the left and right sides of the oven door. You are only exposed to the sharp edge when the door is open. I have pictures that I can send showing exactly where the edge is. I contacted Frigidaire customer service on 5/12/20 to report the safety issue. Although the individual I spoke with was very nice, she did not take ownership of the concern but transferred me to another department (recall dept.) which was no help. They told me to call customer service. Felt like a run-a-round. Consumers need to be warned of this unsafe condition.

    I have a Frigidaire electric smooth top range. The control knobs are mounted at approx. a 45-degree angle on the leading edge of the range and equally spaced over the oven door. They are easy to accidentally activate if leaning over the range to reach something in the cabinets above. This has happened numerous times. Today a friend was visiting and leaned back against the range and turned the knob to high without being aware of the occurrence. It melted the microwave cover lid that was sitting on top. This is a definite fire hazard. It is a “Professional Series” stainless steel Frigidaire Range, but I have been unable to locate the serial # on the unit. Please advise.

    My Frigidare Electric stove was purchased in 2012. I was slow baking pork ribs at 250 (usually I go to work & let it slow cook all day) however, I was still home with I heard sparks going off at the control panel, then a flame came shooting out from behind my stove. The stove began to start beeping loudly and It said F10 on my control panel. Which I found out later this means the temperature was at a dangerous level. I was about to call the fire department, then decided to unplug the stove, which I did. This could have been an entire house fire had I not been home. I reported it to Frigidare --they were not very concerned. They said since my stove is 8 years old I have no warranty. I explained to them that this is a safety hazard and they should warn people that the oven can catch fire for no apparent reason. I received an answer that the owners manuel does say it can catch fire. I have never read this in the manual--but I will never buy Frigidare again.

    The range was used in the kitchen as our method of cooking. Two separate incidences occurred during the first three weeks after we installed it. The first time, simply passing by too close to the front mounted left most burner control knobs caused it to turn on. This resulted in something left on the stove top to catch fire. Thankfully, one of us was home and extinguished the fire.

    The second incident was similar in that this time is was the right most burner knob that was turned on by brushing against the front of the stove as a result of incidental contact brushing by the stove as I walked by. This time the burner again came on, but nothing caught fire because the stove top was bare.

    I have since spent $135 to buy replacement safety knobs (interesting that they were readily available for this make and model on line), This is clear indication that others are having the same issue.

    I contacted Fridgidaire and was told that there was no problems with this oven related to incidental burner turn on and they refused to pay me for the new safety knobs.

    Caller stated that she experienced similar problems of recall# 09-333.Hazard: Depending on the model, the surface heating elements can: 1) turn on spontaneously without being switched on; 2) fail to turn off after being switched off; or, 3) heat to different temperatures than selected. This poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

    Caller stated that she woke up and found that the unit was on she does not know how long it was on for, the control panel could not be used to power it off, the circuit breaker was used to switch off the unit. Caller stated that she switched on the breaker and the range came back on. The unit is currently switched off by the circuit breaker. She contacted the manufacturer and they advised her that her model was not included in the recall and that it was out of warranty. There were no prior incidents.

    This is an electric wall oven: Frigidaire model # GLEB30S9FBC. Serial #. NF845087891. It was installed on 12/6/2008

    It has worked fine up until today.

    We put it through a 3 hour cleaning cycle. At the end of the cycle, it cooled off for a short while. Then error F90 flashed on the input pad. Looking at the manual, it said to hit “cancel” and then reprogram when an F error occurred. We duly hit the cancel button, and then attempted to open the oven door. The entire glass front of the oven door suddenly exploded and shattered into many, many small pieces. The explosion spewed pieces of glass as far as 10 feet from the oven.

    Fortunately, there were no small children around and no one was hurt.

    However, I feel this is a very dangerous occurrence. If this happens to others, the risk of injury is quite high. I am also attempting to contact Frigidaire about this issue. I

I reported this to Frididaire company a week ago. THey took notes but did not seem concerned that this is a flaw in their product, that other children might also experience.

    Oven was not in use at the time of incident. I can only imagine how bad it could have been had it been in use at the time of this. I have a stainless steel Fridgidaire Gallery series oven (it’s the flat top stove) with 5 burners. It’s electric not gas. I was in living room watching tv my son was in kitchen and he came into living room and asked me what are you doing with the oven? i said nothing why? He thought maybe i was doing my steam cleaning cycle. He said he heard a cracking noise? I went into kitchen and heard cracking noise started walking towards oven opened oven and glass fell out of oven into a million pieces. It was all over my floor. I called Fridgidaire and they confirmed my serial number and said it was still in warranty. I had just purchased it at Lowes on Sept 3oth 2019. They said they could send someone out to fix it. At first they said someone could come out this Thursday. But once the place called me back that they had scheduled that with i had to give them more information about my stove and now they can’t fix it until Mon, Dec 16th. This is frustrating as a consumer! Now i have been unable to use my brand new product (at least the oven part) since Monday since it happened. I am concerned that even though they are fixing this problem i feel it’s just a band-aid for the situation. If my son would have been hurt especially if oven HAD been on i can’t even begin to imagine what could have happened to him. I cut my hand on glass shards but it’s ok. I didn’t need stitches or anything. Now even if they replace product i am not confident that this won’t happen again. Frigidaire needs to rethink about using tempered glass in their ovens. Now i am scared even to use it again even when they repair broken glass.

    Cooking turkey in oven overnight. Oven rack falls and pan spilled liquid and caught fire. Smoke detectors went off and we extinguished the oven fire. Oven is a Frigidaire Professional Model: FPEW3085KFB After much research online, this is apparently a common problem in [REDACTED] and Frigidaire brands.

When oven was set to preheat to 400. the unit made an electrical buzzing sound then a pop and then flames and smoke came out of the upper rear of the range behind the control panel where the knobs are located. The fire was put out with a fire extinguisher.

    Hello, We have a Frigidaire Stove model FEFL63FSB A few days ago it made a funny electric sound and then quit working. We thought it was a problem with the clock control. We ordered a new one. It arrived today. We took the back off of the stove and discovered the 240 wiring bracket had melted and the thick 240 wire had melted into two pieces. It never touched the metal so no one was hurt, but it obviously came close to a fire situation. The stove was professionally installed by Lowe’s when we bought it. It worked great right up until it tried to burn down our house.

    Purchased new Frigidaire double oven 3 years ago. The racks have either shrunk or the sides of the oven gave out (it is a slide in between the cabinets and is a tight fit). The racks barely hold onto the little edge making it a safety issue.

    When I put anything heavy, more than a baking sheet with cookies, the rack falls. Have tried centering it carefully and can put a chicken in there, but if not completely careful when removing it, the entire rack and whatever I am baking will fall to one side hitting the bottom.

    This is to dangerous. And I can’t even let my kids use the oven for fear of them getting burnt. We moved the racks around and none of them fit in any of the slots. They are teetering on the edge of each side ready to fall into the bottom of the oven.

    I have burnt myself on 2 occasions with liquid splattering out as the entire pan fell so quickly.

    While using my 1.5 year old Frigidaire oven this morning at 375 degrees the glass shattered. I called Frigidaire and they are taking no responsibility for it. They say it happens often. I was told I could order a new glass front, but it’s currently out of stock with no estimate on when it will be available. The rude customer service agent told me I could check with a local repair shop, maybe they have it in stock. This appliance is what was provided by our builder. Not a brand I would’ve chose. I would have at least expected for the customer service agent to ask if anyone was hurt during this and apologize for the incident. Fortunately our daughter wasn’t standing in front of the oven watching the baking process as she often does.

    At approximately 6:00 p.m. on April 27, 2019, Tenant set the bake temperature on the Frigidaire Electric Range, Model No. FFEF3048LSG, Serial No. VF1206000, to 350°F to preheat the oven. Within a few minutes, Tenant smelled an acrid odor in the kitchen and living area. Not knowing where the odor was coming from, Tenant opened the oven door but the odor did not appear to be emanating from inside the oven. Less than one minute later while standing within three feet of the Electric Range, Tenant heard a short circuit type noise emanating from behind the oven control panel. The short circuit sound lasted a few seconds and it was immediately followed by flames and a low volume of light colored (light gray) smoke emanating from behind the oven control panel. The flames extended about two to three inches above the top of the oven control panel. Tenant immediately turned off the oven, and the flames stopped immediately. Tenant unplugged the Electric range.

    Frigidaire Cooktop Model FEC30S6ABF Serial NF74823198. During normal operation, the front main element stopped cycling and remained on. The unit failed to turn off when placing the heat control dial to the off position. If the element does not cycle it emits very high temperature that would likely in a matter minutes could cause any thing on the cooktop to catch fire and longer exposure could cause the cooktop to become brittle or internal component begin to melt causing fire hazard or an electrical short with same result. The circuit breaker had to be used to turn the unit off as stated the dial control no longer was in any control of the element. Subsequent attempts to use one of the other 3 elements of cooktop was also not an option. When engaging one of the other elements, which seemed to function correctly, also powered the main front element as well and was stuck on high without being able to turn off once engaged. The internal circuitry is done poorly in my opinion. Parts fail eventually, knowing that the limiters will fail and the hazard of one element staying on all the time should dictate internal wiring precluding turning on one element from physically allowing any other elements to be powered as a simple safety precaution. If all 4 elements were to engage without cycling, the risk of fire I think would almost be certain. There is a recall for similar cooktop types as my model made by Electrolux(Frigidaire) during the same time frame mine was manufactured for a very similar problem, but were not included in the recall. Obviously they should have expanded in my opinion.

The right front burner has two elements: an inner complete circle and an outer band thereby accommodating two different sized pans. The control knob for this burner is on the front right of the panel: turn counter clockwise and the inner circle only is regulated; turn clockwise and both the inner circle and outer bands are activated. I was cooking this morning using the whole element (both inner circle and outer band) at a low temperature (2.4 setting) when the inner circle came on full blast and would not shut off. I smelled the odor of burning, removed the fry pan from the burner, and attempted to shut off the whole element to no avail. In order to shut down this burner, I flipped the circuit breaker and cut all electric power to the stove.

    May 2006 - product was exchanged under warranty by the firm.

    November 2010 - Burner turning on without touching the stove. Product was repaired by firm technician under recall “09-333”. Shortly after the repair, the left rear burner stopped working completely.

    In November 2018 the submitter came home to the right rear burner burning red hot. Submitter indicated that if she would have left something on the stove her whole house would have been burned down. The only way to turn off the burner was to shut off the circuit breaker. Submitter has to keep the circuit breaker off while sleeping and when she leaves her home in fear of the product turning on again and burning her house down.

    * Submitter has to use circuit breaker to turn stove on, to use, and off when not using, night or day.

    Submitter called the firm today and was informed that they no longer have the parts available so they cannot fix the issue. Firm offered the submitter a coupon for 40% off the price a new range. Only a 30 day offer.

    Submitter believes this product is a life safety hazard.

    Model # FFIF3054TSA - Frigidaire electric range with induction cooktop. When oven is on for awhile you can’t use the induction cooktop until you turn off the oven and let the unit cool down. Then when you use the induction cooktop you can’t have multiple burners on it shuts down & you need to wait hours before it will work again. The stove has a mind of it’s own. The induction burners turns on spontaneously without being switched on. I was outside & came in to a beeping circuit board with all four burners flashing. Then I have to turn off the unit. Then it has happened when I went in another room of the house. I might need to come back multiple times. I am afraid the electric range is going to cause a fire. When we leave our house we turn off the circuit breaker to the range.

    Two service visits were made to our house. The service man replaced the circuit board & something else. This didn’t help & not their fault. The service man is coming again tomorrow & I have made a video of what happens to show him. The stove was purchased Oct. 30 2018 & not installed until after Christmas.

    Our family had just turned our oven on to preheat it for dinner. Within five minutes, there was a very loud, explosion like sound. I had been standing two feet in front of the oven and felt debris hit my legs and feet. I looked down and the front glass window of our oven had exploded and shattered into lots and lots of little pieces. Thank goodness I had been wearing pants and slippers so I received no injuries, but most of all, thank goodness our two toddlers had not been near the oven. It was terrifying to even think of what could have happened.

    She purchased it around feb 2008 and it has been a great addition to the family.

    I must add my mother does a large amount of cooking especially baking professionally baked homemade cakes. Well on yesterday she initiated the self cleaning function on the range like she does on a regular schedule following all directions by manufacture

    Horribly, near the completion of the self cleaning the range begin to smoke from the control panel with a smell quite different from the cleaning. The stove had caused an electrical fire somewhere under the panel area.

    This mortified me because she initiated this at bedtime

    to conclude I was awakened to her and my 90y/o father frantically trying to disconnect the stove from its electrical source until finally we had to flip the breaker inside the main power box in the house

    It seems that a very large connector inside of the control panel had caught fire and was incinerating all wires and plastic connectors in that area.

    The induction stovetop turned itself on to its highest power setting without the control knobs being moved away from the off (straight up) position. Turning the knobs would then sometimes change the setting, but never could turn it off. If a pan had been left on the burner and we weren’t home, the house could easily have burned down.

    After turning it off at the circuit breaker I turned it back on to see if that helped. The stove started beeping and the digital burner displays showed “Er” and then started flashing and again turned on the highest settings (Powerburst). I turned it off at the breaker for good. I have videos of the misbehavior.

    Fortunately I purchased the 5 year extended warranty from BestBuy and they are supposed to come repair it. However, given what is obviously a design flaw, the stove must be considered an ongoing hazard.

    I looked online and see that there was a previous recall of similarly designed control panels. Apparently they haven’t really fixed the design, and this model should be recalled as well. I would like to get my money back and buy a different brand without this hazardous history.

    My electric range front burner spontaneously turned itself on last night. The front left burner came on while the switch was in the off position. I had a pan on the stove that I had oil in it that I had cooked in earlier in the evening. The burner got so hot that the pan fused to the ceramic cooktop, it was smoking, on fire and I couldn’t even get the pot off. The burner would not shut off, we had to turn off the breaker to cut off power to the stove. This happened right before bed, had I gone to sleep the fire would’ve spread. This range is a danger!

    The consumer indicates that her husband was cooking in both the cooktop and the oven for approximately three to four minutes when he noticed a burning smell being emitted from the unit. All of a sudden, smoke came out of the back of the unit and its control panel, followed by fire. The surge protector switched and the unit turned off. The consumer’s husband tuned the oven and cooktop off, and proceeded to wait outside his home while the smoke subsided. The consumer and her husband moved the oven range from its location and noticed the wiring in the back burnt.

    The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. Because her unit is recalled, they informed her they could provide free replacement knobs for the cooktop. When the consumer asked about the damages to the oven that resulted in an unusable oven range, she was informed that they would only cover costs of damages to her home and not the unit itself. The consumer was advised to pay out of pocket to have a Service Technician inspect her oven range, and depending on those findings, the Manufacturer would decide if they could provide assistance free of charge or not; the consumer is not willing to pay the Manufacturer to have a Service Technician inform her what she already knows: the oven range is irreparable.

    The consumer indicates that the cooktop is used approximately twice daily whereas the oven is used, on average, five to six times weekly.

    The consumer plans on keeping her oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

    Right front burner on Frigidaire range oven comes on spontaneously. Frigidaire sent new burner switches which were installed by a qualified technician. This did not solve the problem as the burner continues to come on spontaneously continuing to result in a dangerous fire hazard. I contacted Frigidaire to report the fact that their proposed solution did not fix the problem. I was told by Frigidaire personnel that they would do nothing further as these switches were the only parts authorized to resolve the problem. The product recall was for this specific problem with this specific product. Their “ fix” did not work and they are telling me that I have to live with this dangerous situation.

    My glass top stove is doing the same EXACT thing, but isn’t included in the recall. My model is fec30s6abf.

    The burner is staying on even after we turn it off. It stays on the HIGHEST setting.

    I see many others posting on various website stating they have my exact model and it’s doing the same exact thing too!

    As described in their existing recall for other stove tops:

    Name of product: Certain Frigidaire and Kenmore Elite Smoothtop Electric Ranges

    Hazard: Depending on the model, the surface heating elements can: 1) turn on spontaneously without being switched on; 2) fail to turn off after being switched off; or, 3) heat to different temperatures than selected. This poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

    We have a Frigidaire Gallery Smooth top stove Serial# VF05122805 and Model# LGEF3045KFB that was purchased at Lowe’s around August 2015. Monday morning September 10, 2018 at 1:20 AM in the MORNING we were awoken by a beeping sound, we got up and went into Kitchen area only to find that our stove pre-heated itself to 525 degrees on a “pizza” mode. After numerous attempts to turn off the oven we had to turn the breaker off. Tuesday evening the 11th we turned breaker back on and oven started up again by itself. Thank goodness we were home and are light sleepers that we heard the oven pre-heat as this could have been a fire hazard. I called Frigidaire to be told that I need to call a technician and possibly have some parts replaced. I do not feel comfortable replacing any parts as fear this could happen again.

    The rear 6 inch burner will turn on spontaneously and cycle on and off even with the burner control in the off position. I called Frigidaire in May and was informed that there was no recall on the appliance. Checking again for more recalls I find that many appliances using the same burner system have been recalled.

    The appliance is unsafe and now disconnected.

    I believe Frigidaire is aware of the problem and is attempting to avoid its responsibility.

    Frigidaire electric oven outer door glass exploded without warning sending shards of glass as far as 8 feet away (8 feet counted by 12” ceramic floor tiles). Oven was not in use when this occurred. Myself and my wife were sitting in the living room and heard an extremely loud pop followed by the sound of glass shattering, fortunately nobody was near the oven when this happened.

    An eye on by electric stove came on without being turned on this past Saturday 8/25/18. This happened before and was repaired as a recall in 2011, at that time I asked that it be replaced due to it being a fire hazard. That was not an option, I reluctantly agreed to the repair. I was assured the repair would correct the issue. About one year later the stove came on without being turned on, again they would not agree to replace the stove. It was again repaired that it was a permanent repair and it would be safe. So after this weekend when it again came on without being turned on I again asked that it be replaced with a new design/model because there is no way I can risk believing the fix would work. The only option was to have it repaired as a recall a third time or I could have a 20 % discount on a new one. I will not ever trust this stove again and will not have it repaired. They risked my house and family because they would not do the right thing. Now they tell me since my stove is appx 10 years old they will not replace it. I said if it were design correctly or repaired correctly I would not be having this issue. Their original design and their retro fit fix was a band aid to drag it our far enough that they think they don’t have to do the right thing.

    A Top burner turned itself on and would not shut off while using the oven.. This is a potential fire hazard. This is the second incident, I have had with this electric range. The first incident did cause a small kitchen fire that was contained to the items on the stove top itself. (Report No. 20180723-54BC0-2147386618 , incident date July 21, 2018)

    This second incident occurred August 1, 2018. This time I was able to capture a video of the incident, to better document what happened.

    There all ready exists a recall for this issue, which includes the model # of my Electric range, but my serial # is out of the range.     My purpose for submitting this second report is to 1) demonstrate that this issue extends to other units not included in the original recall and 2) to better document the occurrence .

    Details for this incident: I prepared to cook 1 pound of sliced bacon, and laid out the strips on two cookie sheets. Turned the oven on and set it 400 degrees. Set the timer for 17 minutes. when the oven was around 330 degrees, I slid booth sheets into the oven. About 7 minutes later, I noticed one burner came on and would not shut off. If anything had been on the glass top it would have burnt.

    SEE VIDEO Video shows that status of the Electric Range 7 minutes after putting food into oven. (timer started at 17 minutes). Stove is just reaching its set point of 400 degrees. This is point where I noticed the burner has turned itself on and will not turn off. Burner switch appears to be affected by steam.

    There is one thing I do not understand. According to Customer Service, the serial number of my unit indicates it was manufactured in 2009,,,, but yet there is a label on the range with clearly says March 9, 2007 .. Why would the dates conflict? Could my oven have been manufactured in 2007? If my range was mfg’d in 2007, then it should qualify under the existing recall.     After baking food at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, I heard an explosion ... the exterior glass on the oven door had shattered. I have taken great precaution in the care of this oven and only used it according to manufacturer recommendations!

    The following day, I contacted the manufacturer to report and request that an exterior oven door glass be replaced free of charge as that the appliance is out of warranty. I have had the oven for only about 2 years! I also reported that some of the hot shattered glass had caused minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

    They refused to offer a free repair, replacement part, or have a technician inspect the oven for defect!

    On Tuesday morning at 4:36 am , we where woken up to the sound of something breaking. we went into the kitchen where the glass on the oven door was scattering everywhere. At this point a took a picture and a brief video of it, it was still breaking and fallen out at this time. Later on in the morning I made a claim to Home Depot protection plan. They are the ones who I have coverage with for my appliances. The range was bought in 2015. On Wednesday 7/4/2018 technician came out and said he would order part. I called the service provider who came out to find out when part would be coming in. I was informed my claim was denied by home depot due to “ physical damage”. This was 7/5/2018. They don’t believe me. I called Frigidaire directly and to find it if a defect , I was told no recall and there was nothing they could do, If my dog or granddaughter was standing there they would of gotten hurt by the scattering of glass.     The consumer states that the back and left burner of her oven range turned on by itself and kept increasing the heat. The consumer was unable to turn the unit off so her husband had to switch off the circuit breaker. When the breaker was switched back on, the oven range displayed various codes. The crockpot bottom that was on the stove melted.

    06/25/2018 – The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. The representative she spoke with informed her that her oven range was recalled in 2009 and that they sent her a letter however the consumer noted that she never received said letter. The representative offered to ship a replacement electronic control, and said a Service Technician would be dispatched to repair it. The consumer did not accept the offer.

    The consumer ceased use of the unit on 06/22/2018 and stored it in her garage. The consumer states that, prior to the incident, both cooktop and oven were used twice weekly.

    The consumer plans on keeping her oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

    Heated oven to 350°F placed food into oven. Almost instantly I heard an electrical buzzing behind the control panel, looked and saw smoke and orange-red glow (like fire) against the wall just behind the panel. Item in the oven was burnt! Control panel flashed F10 code and was beeping. Unplugged appliance. The house reeked of burning electric. According to repairman, EOC and sensor are fried. He said definitely there was an electrical fire and we were lucky we were present to unplug it. Cost to repair $370 and he did not recommend doing it. Stove is only 6 years old.

    The front panel of my oven shorted out while not in use. Both the oven and stove were turned off when I left for work this morning. When I returned home there was a strong smell of burning plastic in my house. The lights on the front panel that normally display the time and oven temperature were dark, but they would flicker on if I pressed certain parts of the control panel (this didn’t seem to be associated with any particular button, more like just the upper left hand region of the panel). The panel itself had a region about the size of a quarter that was upraised and had spiderweb cracks in it. None of this damage was present before I left for work this morning. None of the clocks in the house were flashing, so this wasn’t a power outage or power surge. No other appliances in the kitchen were affected, and there were no scorch marks by any of the outlets. This appears to have been completely spontaneous and restricted to the oven. This could have very easily started a fire.
