    My Samsung French Door Refrigerator fluctuates inside temperatures to unsafe levels. I keep a thermometer inside the refrigerator and have recorded temperatures as high as 56 degrees when the thermostat is set to 38 degrees. I have had food spoilage multiple times and this is a danger to my family. Samsung denies that there is a problem and refuses to admit a design defect, even though many others have had the same problem.

    I have a Samsung Refrigerator model #RF263BEASG that has a worldwide known manufacturer defect. My refrigerator freezes up. My freezer stays un-frozen. Samsung has fixed the same issue 4 times and wants me to wait another 30 days if the parts come in or I can call a repair service to fix it(which it will never be fixed - because it can not) at my own cost. I have the temperature of the refrigerator set to 44 degrees Fahrenheit The internal thermometer that I have placed in the refrigerator shows 28 degrees Fahrenheit. The Ice maker is frozen over. this has been going on for a year now.

    My Samsung refrigerator does not keep safe a temperature. The temperature fluctuates between 35 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit constantly. My one and a half year old’s milk went bad five days before it’s expiration date and he got food poisoning from drinking it. It is possible my husband and I also had food poisoning since we all had a few digestive issues also before the milk incident. I now have a thermometer in there all the time tracking the temperature. My family used the refrigerator as our main refrigerator but aren’t able to now unless we want to get sick again. The model number is RF28HFEDBSR.

    My Samsung refrigerator, model RF22M95851SG, has had the ice maker repaired 3 times since December 2021, and now the top compartment is not as cold as the refrigerator says it is. I have an internal thermometer in the unit that reads in the 40’s the repair man used an digital thermometer and it read 46 but the unit says it’s 37 degrees. It never reads anything but 37 degrees. This is an unsafe temperature for food which is the sole purpose of this applicance.

    Our Samsung refrigerator has a defective freezer handle. Similar to the current recall for the same style of refrigerator made by [REDACTED], our Samsung has the two French doors at the top and a drawer-style freezer at the bottom, and similar to the recalled [REDACTED], that freezer handle comes off unexpectedly when you pull to open the freezer. It can knock you completely off balance and you find yourself on the floor holding the handle, and the freezer stayed put.

    I have a Samsung refrigerator and did not realize it was not holding the correct temperature. The temp it reports on the outside is NOT what the inside is. I did not realize this until I put a thermometer on there. I have been getting sick with food poisoning symptoms on and off for a few years. My dog keeps getting sick as well. I am in the process of replacing but this is so dangerous. Did not even think it was the fridge not keeping the correct temp. Why put the temp on the outside if it is not even the correct temp

    My Samsung refrigerator stopped cooling to a safe temp for food storage. As a result, I became ill after eating food from the refrigerator before realizing the temps had been somewhere between 54-58 degrees for a few days. This unit is part of a class-action lawsuit against Samsung. I have filled with the NJ BBB and the NJ Attorney General, due to the known manufaturing and design defects in these units. Samsung knowingly sold these defective units, even though there is no fix for the compressor issue or the ice maker issue. Samsun has refused a refund and instead has offered yet another “fix” for the unit. Again, no fix will help a manufacturing and design defect.

As I [REDAACTED] the issue, I have found that this type of problem has been going on for over 10 years with Samsung refrigerators. Why do you keep selling customers these inferior products? I am deaf, and phone calls for me are next to impossible. Yes, I will call to get a fix ticket, but first I will tell you that the problem doesn’t go away. My one friend has had to replace his Ice maker 3 times! So, even if I get a new Ice maker, that may only be temporary, due to all that I’ve read and my friends experience.     Samsung refrigerator model #RF28HMELBSR/AA has design defects with ice maker and cooling issues that Samsung refuses to admit to many unsuspecting consumers. My family was made sick twice due to food poisoning due to the temperature of the refrigerator consistently being over 40° before a service in December 2021 and again in April 2022. A refund is due from Samsung as a technician came out and reported the refrigerator irrepairable. We are now on day 32 without a food safe refrigerator thanks to the improper customer service of the company.

    Had food spoiling before the expiry dates. Cheese growing mold, fruit getting moldy, vegetables getting slimy and smelling. This triggered the purchase of a thermometer. That can monitor temperature of the refrigerator digitally while tracking, temperatures and time. This not only showed me that my refrigerator was above temperature it was well above the safe temperature of 40 degrees for more than 2 hours per FDA. This is a household Samsung French door refrigerator. It is kept in the kitchen. It is used by the entire family, kids and adults. Storing medication, and food as it should.

    We bought our #RF23M8070SRAA Samsung 3 years ago. At the beginning of last year, we started having issues with the ice maker. It kept over freezing, would not make ice and because it would over freeze we could not get the tray out. We have defrosted the ice maker multiple times. It got to the point where we were defrosting it almost every 2 weeks to every month! It would be good for a little bit but ah again it would go right back to freezing up. This became very annoying and frankly should not be a problem on a refrigerator that cost us $4000+! We finally just shut the ice maker off and I have been having to make ice with trays…had I known I was going to need to do that, I would have bought a refrigerator with no ice machine and saved the $4000 “upgrade”. This month now we noticed the control panel started blinking and throwing error codes, C-39 and C-40. After researching it we found that these were due to the ice maker. After further research, we found out about the ice maker issues and lawsuit against Samsung for the faulty ice maker issues! We called Samsung right away and they said they would handle the ice maker costs for a tech to come out and fix it. The tech is supposed to be here today because that was the soonest but Tuesday night (3/1/2022) I had to call Samsung at 10 pm to let them know the entire control panel is now not on or working at all. The refillable pitcher is not refilling properly and the fridge completely shut off! No power, nothing. Everything in the fridge will be lost if they can not get someone out sooner. It has now been having power issues and is glitchy. The woman on the phone assured me it would be handled and the current ticket for the tech would be updated so Samsung would make it right and take care of this without any cost to us. Even though it is out of warranty they will because it is the ICEMAKER ISSUE! When I called to confirm with the tech that the ticket had been updated they said no. So I had to call Samsung again and of course, they say they have to cancel the current ticket because it is a new issue and it won’t be covered! I said it is because of the ice maker why is it not covered? They again said they are not the tech so they don’t know if it was the ice maker. So I said well then leave the ice maker ticket so the tech can check it out! We are not paying for a service that is due to a faulty product! We have a formula we have to keep in the fridge for our middle son who has a rare bone disease and if I can not rely on a fridge that I bought for $4000 to last more than 3 years or have the company make it right for me as the consumer, I absolutely will not be purchasing any other Samsung products! Since the continuous lies have been coming from multiple supervisors, team members and the customer service reps we have also returned our Samsung phones to our [REDACTED] carrier and replaced them with [REDACTED]!

This ruined our floor and over $600 worth of food. We are a family of 6 with 4 children, and we are on a limited fixed income. They don’t want to cover the warranty or the extended warranty. They sent a person out to replace the compressor and mother board and that didn’t fix it, the tech said it is not fixable. Samsun was going to give me a $1400 voucher to use on their web site and then rescinded it with no explanation. I advised that I wasn’t takin a frig of lesser value then what I currently have.

    My Samsung refrigerator ice maker started malfunctioning. It would freeze over completely, and would freeze the motor. This would then mean that we had no ice. They sent out a tech and he replaced the ice maker. Well, now the refrigerator is not keeping its temp.For obvious reasons this is a safety issue when it comes to our foods (especially meats and any refrigerated medications we may have). Multiple times now I have opened it to see that the temperature was 62*, and all of its water/ice/light functions were disabled. Once I opened the freezer a couple of times it’s like it tripped something bc the light and other functions started working again. This has happens numerous times.

    Samsung fridge model RS22HDHPNSR/AA was included in our home build. We closed 12/20/2019. Fridge was repaired 2/25/2022 due to the back of the freezer panel completely frozen up, making a loud humming noise that would only stop with the fridge or freezer door open, and the unit wasn’t cooling properly. Repair was the “fix” yet the fridge still doesn’t cool below 40° even though the front panel temperature is set to 34°. Samsung is aware of this issue with not only our fridge but many others. A 2 year old fridge shouldn’t have cooling issues!!

    I am writing you about my Samsung refrigerator (Model # RF22KREDBSG/AA). This refrigerator keeps unsafe temperatures which is a known issue to Samsung that they refuse to address. Sometimes, my refrigerator reaches temperatures over 42 degrees. There is a [REDACTED] group called Samsung Refrigerator Recall U.S.A. Now. There are over 105K members who are having similar issues. The ice machine freezes over, leaks on the interior and exterior of the appliance. Some have even sparked and started fires. I have been having issues with the product since I bought it in October of 2016. There is a class action lawsuit with the refrigerator. Samsung refuses to address the dangerous temperatures. The only thing they have offered me is to repair/replace the ice machine for free. This has already been done twiceandit has not resolved the issue. Several people have had their ice machine replaced only to have more severe issues develop as a result.

    I have a Samsung refrigerator that is displaying unsafe temperatures ranging from 47° to 55°. I have had to throw away half of my food and have had stomach issues for the past four days. A technician was supposed to come out today but came at a time that was not agreed-upon and now I have to wait another week for them to come back out to my house. I have been having icemaker issues and the back of the fridge is frozen up coming out of the holes in the back of the inside of the fridge and I either have a sheet of ice or a puddle of water that drips onto the floor underneath the bottom shelf. I have once again requested a technician to come out as soon as possible because I have two adults and three children to feed out of this refrigerator. I have concerns that other family members have gotten sick or will be sick in the future.

Item was delivered and went into service on 4/10/2018 This is a French Door refrigerator with an icemaker in the upper refrigerator section. It has a pull-out freezer at the bottom.

    Here is the list of problems we have experienced with our Samsung refrigerator. We purchased it 3/21/2018; (took delivery) April 10th, 2018. I believe that in 2019 (August) we came back from a trip, and found our freezer completely defrosted. We lost hundreds of dollars of food. The freezer door was securely shut, and no one had been in the home while we were gone. I called Samsung service, and was given some kind of reset code that seemed to work. At the time, I was unaware of the massive problems and manufacturing defects with Samsung refrigerators and ice-makers, and didn’t document the call, but it should appear in their records. Around the same time, we started having water come out of the icemaker when we were trying to dispense ice. Then, the icemaker started freezing up, and we had to start chipping ice out of the maker on a regular basis. Then, we started having water and ice at the bottom of the fridge under the specialty drawer. Then started having food at the back of the fridge freeze up, as well as in the vegetable drawers. Again, wasted food and money, over and over again.

    In mid 2021, the problem was so severe we couldn’t use the icemaker, and I started researching online and found that Samsung refrigerators are known for having manufacturing defects related to the icemaker and temperature regulation (documented in their service bulletins to technicians). In October 2021, Samsung serviced our icemaker and replaced it. The technician also said the temperature problem and ice in the fridge (at the bottom and also behind the plastic panel where the “twin” coolers are located) was caused by a defect in the motherboard, and he replaced that as well.

    About a month after that service, I started noticing that food seemed to spoil faster, and that alternated with food freezing unexpectedly. I put digital thermometers in the fridge and freezer, and have been regularly photographing the temperatures each morning, and then re-setting the thermometers. The temperatures in the fridge fluctuate wildly: from as low as 29 to as high as 54. They rarely are in the food safe range of 40 degrees or less (except when they are below freezing for no apparent reason--freezing our food). This morning’s temperature was showing 44 (after the fridge being unopened for more than 12 hours), with a high of 52 degrees, and a low of 40 degrees. Meanwhile, the temperature on the front of the fridge ALWAYS shows 38 degrees for the fridge and 1 degree for the freezer, no matter what the actual temperature is inside the fridge. I have changed the position of the thermometer to various locations in the fridge, and the results are similar no matter where placed.

    Before I started using the digital thermometers, and since October 2021 when the motherboard was replaced, we’ve had multiple instances of feeling ill after meals, including vomiting and diarrhea. We DO NOT eat out or eat food prepared outside the home because of COVID-19 concerns. We wash all incoming food and produce with a mild soap solution. I’m a health care provider, and immediately thought that we could have food-born illnesses because ot the timing and symptoms. Our food prep and kitchen practices are exceptional and careful as we have a family member with a chronic illness. In retrospect, I suspect that these episodes of illness correspond with temperature fluctuations inside the refrigerator. Now that we are aware of the temperature fluctuations, we don’t store dairy products, eggs or any proteins in the fridge, and have had to purchase a second smaller fridge to store those items.

    This is, without a doubt, the WORST appliance I have ever owned. It has numerous well documented manufacturing defects and faults, and Samsung, as a company, has failed to do a recall. As a result, we’ve lost hundreds (thousands?) of dollars worth of food, suffered food-born illness, and had to purchase a second fridge because of the unsafe temperature swings inside the fridge.     I purchased a Samsung fridge on 1/25/15 for my family of 4. In October 2021, the freezer stopped making ice completely. Prior to that, it was always intermittent. The inside of the back of my fridge completely froze with ice 4” thick. A technician came and started the repair process. The fridge was not accurately reporting the temp, only setpoints. My fridge was found to be too warm as well as my freezer. There is no surprise that we have stomach issues. I am sure we are eating compromised food that our fridge is promoting bacteria growth! I have thrown out numerous food due to spoiling due to the fluctuation in temps OR thawing while in my freezer!!! I have had at least 10 technician calls to repair my fridge/freezer. I have had at least 10 parts replaced, from (2) ice makers, thermometers, temp sensor, motor, assembly cover and evaporator, water filter. My freezer is now frozen shut. The ice bucket filled with water, not ice, froze and I cannot open my freezer drawer. I am waiting for another technician appointment on 4/13. Last night, the freezer started to leak and drip through my hard wood floors down to the basement because the freezer temps are not consistent.

The whole call was done via phone, they video recorded the ice build up I also showed the temp in the fridge 50° and back ice on the video. I will follow up once they come to fix the ice machine only this coming Monday.

This in turn forces me to turn off the ice maker and fridge to defrost the area. This is necessary to remove all the ice pieces that is blocking the pathway. After removing it, it takes about 24 hours for ice to made. During this down time, food is no longer chilled and food can go bad.

    I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator (Model# RF28JBEDBSG/AA) with the extended warranty on 8/27/2017 and the ice maker began to freeze over in 2019. As a quick fix, we began to defrost it with a blow dryer, and then it seemed to work fine, but this would occur about every 6 months. We finally got frustrated with doing this and contacted Samsung. On April 12, 2021, the technician had to completely replace the ice maker unit and admitted that this is very common. It then worked fine after replacement, but then in late July 2021-early August 2021, only 3-4 months later, the ice maker began to freeze over AGAIN. I made a second appointment through Samsung’s service center, Service Quick, for August 12th 2021, and they failed to show up for the appointment. We also noticed, our food (more specifically, fruits and vegetables in their designated bins/drawers) were beginning to spoil a lot faster, and thus, we felt like we were wasting money on our groceries because they weren’t lasting as long as they should. It seemed like there were unsafe temperatures in our refrigerator and in our meat drawer. Our kids would help themselves to simple snacks such as packaged cheesesticks or sandwich meat, but then would complain later about stomachs hurting. After monitoring the timing and what they were eating, we finally realized, the meat/cheese drawer wasn’t consistent with the temperature and we were consuming food that wasn’t safe. We also haven’t had ice because the ice tray is frozen solid and we cannot remove it from the unit. We now have to use a separate refrigerator/freezer in our garage, and store bags of ice inside.

    I own a Samsung rf263beaesr refrigerator. Purchased in 2013. I began to have water collecting in deli tray and icing on walls. I called Samsung and they issued a ticket. I payed a Samsung tech to fix the issue on 10/20/2021. About 4 MTHS later waterline & food began to freeze. I called Samsung and was advised to reset fridge by unplugging. I did that. After about an hour of fridge being plugged in and running again, the refrigerator began filling up with water and pouring water out onto kitchen floor like a waterfall.. I had to urgently cut off water supply. Now fridge compressor doesn’t even turn on anymore. This fridge has caused very much damage to my home and now refrigerator is being replaced. it was an expensive defective fridge. I put more money into it to be serviced. I lost all food in it, plus water Damages. Myself and my children could have been severely hurt

    8/2019: The back inner portion of the freezer, builds up ice and it prevents the fan from operating. The fan makes a loud clicking sound, while attempting to operate. If the consumer doesn’t address the issue, the plastic fan can break when it hits the ice. This also causes the ice maker to freeze up and stop working.

    The consumer contacted 2 different service technicians in his area. Both technicians told him that they could come out, but they also informed him that they have done repairs for several hundred dollars on other people’s refrigerators (this same mfr.), and the repairs did not last and never solved the problem. Instead, the technicians made a couple suggestions for the consumer to try.

    • Remove all of the food and place it in coolers; unplug the machine, thaw the ice and try the refrigerator again.

    The consumer had to purchase an additional freezer to store their food.

    At times, the ice build-up in the back was extensive and had spread all around the coils. The recommended steps did not solve the problem. The ice build up returned a few weeks later and the problem with the coils returned a couple months later. The consumer had to repeat this process, numerous times, to be able to use the refrigerator.

    The consume reported the incident to the manufacturer and was given a Confirmation Number: (Transdiction Number- [REDACTED]) and she spoke to [REDACTED] (last name unknown). The manufacturer was unwilling to offers any assistance with repairing the fridge and indicated that it was past the warranty period.

    The consumer noted that the problem was present when their warranty was in effect and there are numerous reports on-line regarding this exact same issue.

    The consumer said it It’s a challenge to defrost the coil in the back, month after month, year after year, after year. Additionally: The ice machine freezes up every 3 weeks and the coils freeze up every 3 – 4 months. When the coils freeze, the freezer and the refrigerator “stop maintaining the appropriate temperature.”

    The coils on the back are inside of the refrigerator and there is supposed to be a heat feature and insulation around them, which prevents them from freezing. Therefore, the coils freeze repeatedly and the plastic fan in that area hits the ice and if the refrigerator is not turned off, several problems can occur. This may create an electrical and fire safety hazard, the manufacturer should be willing to address.

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in Oct 2017. The ice maker has never worked properly. Ice maker was replaced on 6/19/2019, 10/28/2020 and the Ice Route was replaced on 11/3/2020. All technicians indicated that the problem will reoccur since there is not a permanent fix. Well, it’s now 2022 and the ice maker is not working again. dumps water everywhere, either freezing what’s in the ice tray or turning it to mush. water leaks from the dispenser when not in use. I want a refund and have filed complaints on numerous sites, including NJBBB, NJAG, have joined the Samsung community as well as the [REDACTED] page. This is a HEALTH & INJURY HAZARD as water drips from the dispenser onto the floor, which could cause someone to slip & fall, especially senior citizens!

    I had been dealing with stomach issues for quite a while and could never pinpoint where it was coming from. I also had issues with my ice maker and saw a group that all had Samsung refrigerator/freezers like I did. Some of the posts mentioned the refrigerator not keeping the temperature that it was set on so I quickly checked the inside temperature. The digital setting was on 36 degrees and the internal temperature on a thermometer was 46 degrees!! I immediately purchased another thermometer to corroborate the initial reading and also lowered the setting so that my food would not become dangerous going forward. I have since contacted Samsung and they didn’t want to hear what I had to say so I am just trying to let as many people know about this hazard as I can.

    I own Samsung French door refrigerator RF323TEDBSR (serial number V353433BFA00299F). I have been monitoring my fridge and freezer temperatures for a week because the food seems not be cool enough but also my son use very expensive medicine (growth hormone) which need to be storage in correct and accurate temperature. He has been also now in stomach bug past 4 days. Temp was set to 37F/-2F in the display monitor but when you open refrigerator or freezer notice that always temp are higher inside (seeing 42.6 D.F. in fridge and 4.1 D.F in freezer). Lowered the temp to 35F/-3F and monitored the fridge & freezer for two days and the display always says 35 D.F. on the outside but when you open the door the thermometer we put inside have been well above 40 D.F. and as high as 46 D.F. Putting same thermometer into freezer set at -2 D.F. indicates a temp of -3 or 4 D.F. Temperature has been well above 40 D.F. and yet the display that shows the supposed temp in the refrigerator says 35 D.F. The safety issue is not only there a design defect that causes the sensor that let’s consumers know what the temp in the box is sending false and misleading temp readings allowing people to think their food is safe temp and medicine storage in right temp when its actually not. This may go on for days, weeks and even months for some consumer before they realize that they have been eating spoiled food and used medicine which might not have been storage in correct temperatures. There must be knowledge of the design flaws that allow the digital temp. display to show normal safe temperatures are 10-15 D.F. higher. Than they should be.

I have contacted the NJ Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General. My initial complaint, after multiple work orders, was in the summer of 2021. Samsung insisted I was outside of the warranty and would not understand the fridge has been defective since I purchased it. They will not compensate for the defective fridge or the lost food. I have to keep an additional thermometer in the fridge in order to ensure it is cool enough to keep the food from spoiling.     The product, in the report: Product is a double-door refrigerator with the right door having a quick-access panel for milk, creamer, juice etc. without having to open the entire fridge. The inside has a large cooling panel at the back boasting some kind of rapid cooling technology, and a small ice machine takes up the top left corner of the fridge interior. The left door features a touch panel with options for rapid-cooling, cubed or crushed ice, water dispensing as well as temperature controls for both fridge and freezer and a real-time readout of the current temperatures of each. Freezer below has a slide out tray on top and two deep bins below as well as a secondary ice maker for bulk ice collection/production.

    Refrigerator reporting stable temperatures of 34 degrees when internal temp and food temp is actually 56 degrees!

    Quick research shows that the fridge has known issues related to a cooling system in the back icing over, as well as ice makers failing and freezing shut. We had been thinking for the last couple of days that the fridge was a little too warm and that our kid or my spouse and I had been in and out of it too much and made it warm, though each party denied using the fridge lately. Today we threw a thermometer inside and found that our food was being kept at well above safe temperatures and we had been eating improperly stored food for an unknown amount of time - at least a few days. It appears evident that the freezing over of the back also encases the temperature sensor in ice, displaying a consistent 34 degrees regardless of the actual temperature of the food or the rest of the refrigerator. I haven’t looked any further into it yet, But evidently there is a [REDACTED] group upwards of 100,000 people seeking a recall due to this issue. Group linked here: [REDACTED] I don’t know if any of us is going to become ill from this, but it has certainly caused an exceptionally unnecessary risk, particularly when this has been a known problem for 5 years with over 20 models?! Please consider taking an action to prevent food poisonings or loss of large quantities of food - not knowing how long our food had been compromised, we just had to throw away our entire food supply and now don’t have anywhere to put whatever we replace it with!

    My Samsung 4 door refrigerator that I purchased in November of 2018 has stopped keeping the correct temperature. First the ice maker went out approx a year and 1/2 after we purchased. Samsung sent repair tec and motherboard and ice maker were replaced. It worked until this week the 3rd week of March it stopped keeping the correct temp all my food was damaged. Repair tec came out cleansed the no condenser and added new oil and [REDACTED] tec said don’t put no food back for a week to make sure it works. Next day it was almost at correct temp. I put internal thermometer inside. Today 3/26 back to not keeping temp freezer is 37 fridge is 57 called Samsung and they said it would send service out again.

Samsung has been aware of its defect since 2006. 1st ticket canceled by repair company, 2nd ticket repairman completed replacement of icemaker and motherboard 1.3.22, 3rd ticket repairman arrived 3.23.22 to complete video call with Samsung. Icemaker now drips and leaks into fridge door bins and onto the outside unit and floor. Noted temps are 55 and climbed higher. Family has had recent GI issues; unknowingly consuming spoiled food due to defective product. All food from fridge had to be disposed. Samsung willing to pay for auger repair, but not the evaporation twin cooling system. They claim my warranty is up. This is an implied warranty issue under The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Thousands have the exact same complaint on BBB, internet, and news stations. Samsung rep [REDACTED] (recorded conversation) created Ticket# [REDACTED]. I agreed to start a prorated refund in the amount of $1,896.48 and additional funding for food loss. Within 2 min, [REDACTED] texted me an illegal bait and switch tactic. She informed me she made a mistake and my offer was now $632.16 and eventually offered $895.56. I want the original offer [REDACTED] and I agreed to. I recorded many more reps that have lied and will not facilitate resolution. If they want my bill of sale, I want a FULL REFUND of the amount I paid at purchase. I have no working fridge in my home and Samsung wants to bait and switch, lie, stall, and hang up on me. Case management ([REDACTED]) said he couldn’t find Ticket# [REDACTED], yet the next rep I called could. That rep told me my account now had 11 tickets. I have videos of fridge problems, recordings and texts of all calls. This is a manufactures known defect since 2006 and I was sold a refrigerator in 2016; knowing that it would fail. I stand on The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and implied warranty.

    Samsung Refrigerator RF28HMEDBSR/AA was purchased at Lowe’s in summer of 2015 as part of a kitchen remodel. We purchased cabinets, granite countertops, all new kitchen appliances and new Samsung washer/dryer set. Problems with the ice maker freezing did not begin for a couple of years as my husband had back surgery in October 2015 and was hospitalized and in rehab for many months and we did not use the refrigerator fully. When we did start to use the refrigerator, the icemaker started freezing and quit producing ice. I would have to defrost the ice maker unit. At first it wasn’t but about every 6 weeks or so and then it became every 2-3 weeks. I was also noticing that the internal temperature of the refrigerators seemed to fluctuate. The refrigerator started making a humming/buzzing noise which seemed to coincide with the ice maker freezing. I began to research and learned that Samsung refrigerators have a defect causing the refrigerator coils to freeze and in turn stops the refrigerator from cooling and it starts with the freezing of the ice maker. I also discovered that this was a known defect with Samsung refrigerators yet they are still selling them to unsuspecting customers. I called the Samsung number listed on the refrigerator and explained my problem with the noise of the cooling fan and the icemaker and was told that they would send out a Samsung repairman to put in a new icemaker unit. However, I must have a Samsung refrigerator filter installed and would not make the appointment until I ordered one from them (Order #[REDACTED]). On March 16, 2022, a Samsun repairman came from the Austin area. The technician’s name was [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]) and he was responding to Samsung ticket number [REDACTED]. The technician came out and replaced the ice maker unit and wrote on the receipt that he also drained the line. He explained to me that the humming was a separate problem and that I would have to make another appointment because he did not have the part, but it would be at my own expense. I know that he did not drain the line because he couldn’t get the refrigerator out from the wall because it fits exactly in that space. The next day I came down with food poisoning and a few days later I had to take my husband to the ER because he also had food poisoning. He was admitted to the hospital. I purchased refrigerator thermometers and put them in the refrigerator and discovered that the temperature on the outside of the refrigerator door was NOT the correct temperature in the refrigerator. It was at least 10-15 degrees warmer in the refrigerator which spoiled ALL the food and explained the food poisoning. My husband is a Type 1 Diabetic and a Disabled Veteran. He takes [REDACTED] insulin and the cost for [REDACTED] (Concentrated) subcutaneous solution (human recombinant 500 units/mL) is around $1,562 for a supply of 20 milliliters which we have stored in this refrigerator. He also takes [REDACTED] which we store in this refrigerator. We have had trouble controlling his blood sugar and now I am wondering if the insulin was being ruined by the temperatures in this refrigerator and therefore the injections were not working. He has steadily been declining in health and has been having stomach issues and digestive problems which i believe now are related to the defects in the Samsung refrigerator design flaw that allows the digital temp display to show normal safe temperatures yet in the refrigerator temperatures are 10-15 degrees higher and that our food has been spoiling and we didn’t know. He has just been diagnosed as stage 4 kidney disease.

Since having it, have to defrost the coils on ice maker at least every 3 months and have to remove all contents every 5-6 months and defrost for 24-48 hours due to it not keeping refrigerator cooled. This is and expensive model and we have even purchased extra-large well insulated cooler as we have to empty it out so often just to keep it running. Filter is changed as required and is in ventilated area. After seeing same problems on a recent news cast and that there have even been fires and /or flooding involved with this model, is this something that should be addressed and do we need to replace appliance.

Had repair here last year for unsafe temp in the food area and sheets of ice and melting under the crisper tray. They replaced some parts but still unsafe temp hovers around 45-47 even though it is set lower. I was charged almost $500 for the repairs last year so I just dont use the top icemaker anymore. the bottom icemaker is making sheets of ice and not cubes. Do not want to pay for repairs again.     Freezer motor making terribly loud noise as the compressor was going bad for the 2nd time in our Samsung refrigerator model #RF28HMEDBSR. The unit has had issues off and on for the 7 years we’ve had it. Temp on outside display is not accurate compared to the inside of the refrigerator. Milk has curdled, food has spoiled causing members of our household to become sick, medication that needs to be refrigerated cannot be trusted to be stored at the required safe temperature. From what I’ve been reading, this Samsung refrigerator should be recalled as thousands of other individuals have been having the same trouble and Samsung has not rectified the problem, they only to continue making the same product year after year.

    The product, in the report: Samsung smart fridge 4 door with flex space and tv. Model #RF28M9580SR/AA stainless steel finish

    Purchased Samsung fridge end of 2017. It has broken 4 times. The compressor has been replaced 3 times and motherboard once. It says it’s 38 degrees in fridge but is 44 degrees. This causes the food to spoil. Freezer keeps defrosting and breaking then the fridge will stop working. Ice maker freezes up all the time. This is causing my food to be in the temperature danger zone for more than four hours. This is not safe product as my food is continuously spoiling in my fridge and freezer and causing us to be sick. I have been sick with food poisoning twice because of this faulty fridge. I was without my fridge raider and freezer for four months waiting for them to repair the last time this was six months ago. Now my freezer has broken again and it’s only been six months. Please help

    Purchased Samsung 3 door refrigerator in 2017. Ever since have had problem with the ice maker not working, ice buildup under vegetable and meat trays in frig. Had maintenance people out at least 5 times. I take insulin worth 1,000 and I cannot afford to loose it because of fluctuations in temp control RF263BEAEBC. This is my model that is recorded as a defaulty frig.
