     I’ve had my Samsung french door refrigerator for several years and the ice maker and back panel freeze over every few weeks, causing temperatures in the fridge to be in the mid to upper 40s on a regular basis. The display shows safe temperatures, but after reading countless reviews of unsafe temps I purchased a couple of thermometers to go inside the refrigerator and temps are regularly at unsafe levels. This is a known defect that Samsung offers a free fix for, but only if an authorized Samsung repair shop os nearby (in my case there is none in all of Northern Colorado so no fix) Reported injury to self, spouse, and two others, ages 10 and 16 years.

     Repeat issue. First issue, May 2020. Ice maker wasn’t working and refrigerator temps were 45 degrees in our family’s refrigerator. After a lot of back and forth, Samsung finally ordered repair and promised I would not be required to pay for the repairs. However when the repair tech came out, I was required to pay up front. Tech removed mother board and had to order a new one. Lost $650 in food while waiting a week for the part to arrive and service to be scheduled. Samsung said they would reimburse me for lost food. I submitted my list to them and then was told food loss is not covered. Currently, refrigerator is 60 degrees, ice maker is frozen. Samsung has created four service tickets, with no sense of urgency - and the service company is asking for payment up front from me.

     These extreme temperatures can generate foodborne illnesses and potentially sicken my family by microorganisms such as Salmonella, E. coli O157:H7, and C. botulinum, which causes botulism.

     I purchased a Samsung Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator (Model: RF24FSEDBSR) at the end of 2013.

     After 6 years, I started noticing issues with the ice maker and refrigerator temperature.

     The ice maker does not produce ice and water leaks from dispenser.

     The back panel of the refrigerator freezes up. Ice forms through the seams and holes of the back panel. The refrigerator interior fluctuates between 48°F to 60°F, even if the temperature is set to 34°F (indicated on the digital screen on the door).

     Due to the unsafe food temperatures, food spoils very quickly, causing loss of food. I have also gotten sick from consuming the food, not aware it had spoiled so soon after purchasing it.

     After reading multiple complaints for the exact same issues, it can be concluded that this product is defective. Even if a repair was attempted, the same issue would occur again.

     I did have an ice maker repair done by Samsung in April 2022, but the repair did not resolve the issue.

     My Samsung refrigerator has been experiencing the following issues for the past 2.5 years: • Interior back panel has frozen over • Fan behind the back panel has stopped working, due to ice forming • Temperature of the refrigerator ranges from 48°F to 60°F, which is unsafe food temperature range • Temperature display on refrigerator says 34°F, which does not represent the actual temperature?• Food spoils quickly • I’ve been getting regularly sick from consuming spoiled food • Icemaker freezes over and leaks from the dispenser when it is not in use, flooding water onto my hardwood floor • Water from the dispenser is not cold, but room temperature • Rust forming on the back panel • Loud noises coming from refrigerator–banging, clanging, sound of plastic cracking, sizzling noises

     I am requesting a full refund of $2,630.67 for this Samsung refrigerator that is defective, as well as $500 compensation for spoiled food (total: $3,130.67).

     Bought a new Samsung refrigerator in Dec. 2014. In June 2021, water was appearing inside the refrigerator and the temperature inside wasn’t maintaining at the temperature that it was set at/safe temperature, resulting in spoiled food. I paid Samsung $423 to have it fixed, which lasted only 5 months as again in Nov 2021 the same issues happened. Samsung sent a company to repair again, this time at no charge to me because I escalated up to senior level staff through numerous phone calls. In May 2022, the same issues started happening again, and I became aware of a [REDACTED] group dedicated to helping consumers with Samsung refrigerators. Apparently the issues with my refrigerator are known fatal defects that Samsung refuses to acknowledge despite numerous complaints with the NJ BBB and other agencies as well as a petition to recall Samsung French door refrigerators. It is a health hazard for water to leak inside of the refrigerator, not to mention the effects of the temperature inside being well above 40° F. I have been inconvenienced, have incurred great food expense, and risk to my health by not having a properly functioning refrigerator over the past 12 months, and will be requesting a refund from Samsung. Refrigerators should last more than 7 years.

     SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR MODEL RF18HFENBSR. The refrigerator is in a newly renovated second vacation home since we purchased it in 2016. We noticed after the first summer season it would stop cooling properily in the food section, my daughter noticed mold on condiments that were only weeks old. We’ve had to throw food away numerous times and defrost the Unit each time we leave. I found multiple complaints on the internet of the same issue. I called Samsung and they said they had no one to service it because of Covid so we lived with turning it off whenever we left that home and not storing food in it. I called Samsung again and they say because its out of warrenty they wont do anything for us after the first warrenty year. After 2 weeks it will stop cooling because the coils in the back freeze over and any food will spoil. Freezer works fine but water collects in the bottom.

     The product, in the report: Samsung Family Hub 4-Door French Door Refrigerator sold at Lowes (RF28NHEDBSR 2018 model purchased 9/5/2018). The purpose of the product is to keep food at temperatures safe for consumption, but it fails to do so.

     We have a Samsung Refrigerator (RF28NHEDBSR 2018 model).  Although we have now had 6 repairs (Three from an extended warranty company through Lowes and three from Samsung this year) we have struggled with the ice maker and other thawing and refreezing issues since we got the fridge in October 2018.  The first serious issue of food poisoning occurred in March 2021.

     On Sunday, March 14, 2021, our 18-month-old became violently ill with what appeared to be food poisoning. She was throwing up everything and could not even keep water down.  It happened struck in the middle of the night and we were unable to take her to a doctor in person.  We had to do a telehealth meeting on [REDACTED] with a doctor to determine that she was sick. After a lot of care, [REDACTED], and [REDACTED],  we were able to get her feeling better. Three days later, on March 17, 2021, all three of us were sick.  I was pregnant at the time.  We still had medicine for our daughter but it was daytime, so we went to urgent care to be seen.  We were tested for Covid and it came back negative and again told that it was likely food poisoning.

     Since February 2022, when we discovered regularly occurring inconsistent tempweatures in the fridge, a key issue has been that overnight temperatures (even when left unopened) will range from 22* to 46* inside the fridge.  When the incidents have been brought up to Samsung, the company refuses to stand by their product and told us that the fridge was safe.  We even have had a tech out that was told that as long as the fridge said it was at a safe temperature that it was okay even if the food inside and the thermometer inside read much too high.  On April 14, 2022, we had a technician measure the temperature inside our fridge at 58* even though the fridge said that it was 34*. He had Samsung on speaker as they provided support to him and he was told by Samsung that it was fine as long as the screen on our fridge displayed 34*. We now have to turn on PowerCool manually every hour before bed to get the temperature to drop to at least 36*, but it will get as low as 22* before we head to bed at 10 pm.  Over the next 7 hours the compressor never turns on and the fridge sensors CLAIM that it is 34* inside when in fact, the fridge thermometer we keep inside says between 42* and 46* at 5 am.  Our Freezer also varies between -20* and  6* making it unsafe for us to keep almost anything inside this fridge or freezer, especially dairy or meat products.  We also lost thousands of dollars worth of breast milk with the constant freezing and thawing that has happened with the freezer.  This is both time and milk I will never be able to get back or replace.  We now use an old fridge in our garage and an insulated ice chest with ice because it keeps a more consistent temperature.  When confronted about this, Samsung Escalation Manager [REDACTED] in New Jersey told us that our fridge would only be eligible for a pro-rated refund and promised to pay damages due to food loss (then revoked that offer). Needless to say, we still have the non-working fridge that is failing to cool.

     On May 16, 2019, I purchased a new Samsung Refrigerator (Model: RF28R7201SG/AA; Serial: 0B2B43BM400093A) from Lowe’s for $2,245.61. This item was delivered to our home and installed in June 2019.

     I registered the warranty on this refrigerator with Samsung on June 30, 2019. The warranty provided ne year parts and labor; five years parts and labor on Sealed Refrigeration System Only (Compressor, Evaporator, Condenser, Drier, and Connecting Tubing), and ten years part and five (5) years labor on Digital Inverter Compressor Only

     Over the last few years, the ice maker in the refrigerator has stopped functioning frequently. Usually, we would do the reset process and it would start working again, but it is now completely dead and will not reset. A couple of weeks ago, the freezer compartment also stopped being reliable, and we noticed the frozen foods were defrosting.

     Many other consumers have also reported problems with the ice makers and freezer temperature/temperature display. There are several class action lawsuits pending and Samsung has been issuing refunds to consumers because the refrigerators are defective and not able to be repaired.

     We are now using a 10-year-old [REDACTED] refrigerator in our garage, because the Samsung is not working correctly.

     On May 8, 2022, I contacted Samsung online and requested service on this refrigerator. I was given Ticket #[REDACTED], and service was scheduled on May 11, 2022. Samsung then contacted me and cancelled the service, stating no parts were available to repair my three-year-old refrigerator.

     On May 16, 2022, Samsung offered me 50 percent off a new refrigerator purchased on Samsung.com via a text message, and said that they would send me a coupon code. This coupon was never received.

     On May 18, 2022, Samsung called me and I was told again that they would provide the previously discussed 50 percent off coupon. This coupon was never received.

     On May 20, 2022 at 10:54 a.m., I contacted Samsung again by phone (800-726-7864) and complained I had never received the offered 50 percent off coupon. I was told that Samsung was now processing a refund of approximately $2,100, and I would receive a phone call from them soon. I then provided Samsung with my bill of sale by their request via text message.

     On May 20, 2022 at 2:09 p.m., I received a call from Samsung. Samsung told me they would not provide the refund which was just offered. Samsung again offered only the 50 percent off coupon, and said I would receive it with two days.

     On May 25, 2022, I contacted Samsung again by phone and requested a refund instead of a coupon. I told Samsung the freezer was also not working now. I told Samsung I was not really interested in buying a new refrigerator from them since they would not repair the Samsung refrigerator that I already own. I told Samsung the other models of refrigerators that they offered would not fit my cabinet space without over $1,000 in alterations. Samsung said they would consider offering a refund again, and would contact me with their decision.

     On June 4, 2022, I called Samsung again about the requested refund. Samsung refused to provide a refund because there had not been at least two repairs on the refrigerator. I reminded Samsung that they refused to even conduct the first repair on the icemaker due to a lack of parts support, and they had also refused to make the second repair to the freezer when I contacted them on May 25, 2022.

     Samsung only offered again to send me a 50 percent off coupon. They provided me with Ticket #[REDACTED]

     On June 5, 2022 at 12:27 p.m., Samsung called me and said the call was being recorded. Samsung said they were still working on the 50 percent off coupon. I told them again I did not want the coupon, but instead wanted my refrigerator to be repaired, or to receive a refund. I reminded them I’ve had two issues now, one with the ice maker and one with the freezer compartment. I gave further details about the freezer compartment not maintaining the proper temperature and the temperature indicators being inaccurate. I also told them about my food loss due to defrosting in the defective freezer compartment.

     Samsung told me they could not repair my ice maker or my freezer compartment. Previously I’d been told if there were two prior repair requests, then a refund could be provided. I told Samsung this, but they still refused to provide any refund or repair.

     Samsung told me my warranty was expired. I stated the implied warranty, sealed refrigeration, and compressor warranty were still in effect. I told them my refrigerator was only three-years-old and I know Samsung is aware of the manufacturer defects with this refrigerator, and Samsung has been refunding many customers with refrigerator’s that are more than seven-years-old.

     Samsung stated the only thing they could offer was the 50 percent off coupon, and I told them I would not accept this. I told them I’d already complained to the Better Business Bureau, and would now take my complaint to the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General and the Consumer Products Safety Division.

     I also asked Samsung if I could speak to a supervisor and was told I would have to call back on a weekday for that.

     Since Samsung cannot provide service for my refrigerator, I am requesting a refund so I can purchase a refrigerator from a manufacturer that can support their products, with a working ice maker and freezer that will fit into my existing cabinet space without modification.

     Consumers are becoming ill due to consuming spoiled food from these defective refrigerators. Please help me put a stop to this.

     Samsung Model: RF22KREDBSG (Black Stainless Steel Refrigerator). This product in addition to being a lemon, has had hundreds, if not thousands of reports of unsafe operating temperatures. My exterior thermostat on the fridge is set to 35 degrees, yet routinely is in the 40-50 degree internal temperature range, when measured through an analog refrigerator thermostat. The product has been services at least 3 times since I bought the unit in December of 2018, and Samsung has refused to admit any wrong doing with these product, despite there being numerous class action lawsuits brought forth. The design is fundamentally flawed, to where the ice maker and cooling fans routinely freeze up, causing the internal fridge temps to reach unsafe temps, despite the outside temperature gauge stating otherwise. With no measures of accurate temperature control, this product is putting thousands of consumers health at risk due to unsafe food storage temps, but yet nobody has ever held these people accountable as a manufacturer. We have had a few times in the 3+ years we have had this product where we have had unexplained stomach issues, one could only assume could be brought forth from unsafe food consumption due to this faulty product.

I noticed food was molding and food items like milk was going sour in a few days after purchase. I put a thermometer in the refrigerator and observed it was only 56 degrees, as compared to a normal temp of 36 degrees Fahrenheit. Meat and other perishables were going bad and my family had mild stomach upsets. The refrigerator was repaired twice, once for the ice maker and again for the internal thermostat and fan motor, and both times it failed again. The refrigerator is essentially inoperable. I’ve spent $800 in repairs and had to throw away an entire refrigerator of food worth $300. At this point I moved all my food to a 2nd garage refrigerator. It’s not worth trying to repair since all other attempts failed and it’s the same exact issue. Ice maker is frozen shut and doesn’t work and internal frig compartment, fan and cooling had failed. 2 times each!!!

In 2017 fridge froze up completely, temp reads 38 but was 60, they came and repaired but it still freezes up, has to be completely empty and taking apart to thaw out. I have replaced defrost sensor wiring twice but to no avail. Have to repeat this process every six months, fan starts making horrible noise because fan has ice on it. Temperature becomes unsafe for food storage and I have had to throw out hundred of dollars of food. I have also been sick with food poison several times. Samsung came an tried to repair 3 times during warranty period of 5 years but never got it fixed. I have had it worked on 5 times since warranty ended but it never last. I have had to work on every six months since Aug 2015. This is just the refrigerator part. I also have to thaw out ice maker weekly because everything freezes up around the ice maker because of thawing an refreshing, the ice builds up until it is a solid block of ice.

     I almost became a victim of food poisoning. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (model RF263TEASG/AA) back in 2016. We had the icemaker replaced in 2019. Last month, I heard a sound of a fan blade hitting something from inside the refrigerator. The sound stopped after a few days, but then the temperature reading started to fluctuate. I called out a service tech, who found severe ice buildup behind the evaporator cover panel. He removed the panel and defrosted the ice buildup. If I had not heard the fan blades hitting the ice, I would not have been aware that the refrigerator was no longer keeping my food at a safe temperature, and I, and my family, could have been exposed to food poisoning. No injuries and no illness occurred due to the timeliness of the catching of the issue.

     I have a Samsung model RS30HBEDBSR/AA and over the past several months the refrigerator component has slowly been getting warmer and warmer. I finally had a technician come out only to find out that the connector to the evaporator fan that is failing and frozen and the connector to the fan is burned. He consulted with a Samsung group of techs to determine this is not the first time this has happened and it is a fire hazard. Several technicians on the special page that have been Servicing Samsung appliances for years said this was a fire waiting to happen. I have called Samsung to report. Pending outcome. Non-Samsung employed technicians are not willing to repair due to the risk to themselves as well as how the appliance is set up. It would require damage to the appliance in order to access the part.

     On 11/26/2014 I bought my Samsung Refrigerator. The Refrigerator performed ok for about 21/2 years before needing to contact Samsung. At that time the Refrigerator was making a loud noise coming from the inside rear panel of the unit, and the unit was not cooling. So I called Samsung. The responding tech advised that my unit was out of warranty and that servicing the unit would have to be at my expense. That response did not sit with me very well. I was a bit unsettled from their like of concern. I knew I had a home warranty, so I contacted them making a claim with them. On 6/11/17, the repair tech form a local company All Brand Appliance Repair arrived at my house to assess the problem. At this point I had removed all the food, putting it into an insulated ice chest. After removing all the food storage racks and removing the twin cooling panel, he indicated that the unit had frozen up behind the twin cooling panel, indicating that this caused the unit to not keep cool. He started the repairs by unplugging the unit allowing the ice to melt. The repairman replaced the panel with a new one.

     About a year later, the ice maker started malfunctioning and the twin fan panel started the noise again . By this time my home warranty had expired. So I started researching on the internet regarding my make and model refrigerator. What I discovered was appalling! Turns out I was not the only one experiencing this problem, and that Samsung would not respond to their problems with a fix. Suggestions to fix the problem was to thaw the ice, and when replacing the twin cooling panel, make sure insulation is in tact. So for the past three or so year this has been my situation. Ice maker not working, refrigerator not cooling. Oh yes, I’ve lost a lot of food because of improper food temperatures!

     On 05/31/2022, I called Samsung make them aware of the problems I’ve had and am experiencing with my unit. The tech seemed to show concern, and even stated that he would seed out a tech to investigate the matter. Only one thing, I would have to cover the expense! I responded by stating that the unit is a known defect and that I will not pay for the labor. We went round and round about the labor, until finally he hung up on me with warning!

     I have a Samsung refrigerator I bought in March of 2016 , it was delivered in April. Within a few months the ice maker had large build up of ice. After this continued to happen I contacted Samsung they sent someone out and said it was the motherboard that needed to be replaced and at that time they did a ice maker repair. The refrigerator has not worked properly since. Our refrigerator temp is all over the place. Some days at 41 , some days in t he 50’s , we have reached as high as 74 degrees. I have reached out to Samsung numerous times and they have no one to service the refrigerator. I was breast feeding (exclusively pumping) about a year and half ago and lost hundreds or ounces of breast milk it was devastating. Meaning I could not provide my baby with the best thing for her and had to buy formula which then meant spending lots of money for many many months. I have thrown out thousands and thousands of dollars worth of food. We had had several food poisoning cases in our household. I also run an in home day care and have had other peoples children get sick. Samsung still refuses to do anything as they state its out of warranty. This is NOT a warranty issue this is a Manufactuing defect. Our auger motor caught fire , if my husband would not have been home our house would have caught fire. Luckily he was here to get the refrigerator unplugged while it was sparking.

Unfortunately, your product has not performed well because due to ice maker not working ,refrigerator does not keep food cold enough it shows 34 on outside of door and when i put a thermometer inside it reads it 54 or more. I even had delii drawer to have like 2 inches of ice frozen under it. also it froze soda cans and they exploded making huge mess and it could have hurt some one had they had door open when it happened.....the freezer freezes over... drawers for keeping deli meat in are cracked..It leaks water out onto floor and under it .....the back of refrigerator freezes up causing plastic on inside back of refrigerator to crease and bulge..i have had repair out 3-4 times and also having to rent a refrigerator from [REDACTED] for a month due to mine not working and having to wait on parts and repair men coming out 3 -4 times... I had to pay for some of these repairs myself .I also have to keep insulin cold to which i am afraid to put in this frig so i had to buy mini frig to put insulin in. My son and I had to be treated for upper repiratory problems doctor said was from mold in refrigerator and food not being cold enough... Enclosed are copies of pictures of exploded cans to which it blew the tops off of and I could not find all the tops to cans To resolve the problem, I would appreciate your accomodation of full refund of refrigerator and refund for food that has spoiled.

     I have a Samsung 4 door refrgerator, model rf22kredbsr/aa, installed in August 2017. I have had 2 icemaker replacements-1 in May 2019 and 1 in October 2021, although I should have had more as I manually defrosted it several times. I was recently alerted to the refrigerator being unable to maintain safe food storage temperatures and installed a thermometer in it 2 weeks ago. It is below 40 degrees about half the time at most, averaging about 37-38 degrees. The big problem is the other half of the time, it’s over 40 degrees, averaging 43-45 degrees, which is over the safe food storage guidelines. I honestly do not know if we have gotten sick as a direct result of these temperature fluctuations as I have not tracked it for very long, but I can think back to many times me and my family having stomach issues that could easily be related to this.

     Much like thousands of other people, my Samsung refrigerators ice dispenser freezes up so ice cannot be made. I have defrosted it several times, but today I found mold in the ice bin and dispenser. I’m currently being evaluated for a double lung transplant due to a disease called hypersensitivity pneumonitis, which is a severe allergy to mold which is hardening my lungs. We got the refrigerator 3.5 years ago when I was diagnosed. We also replaced other appliances, flooring, and new mattresses with the possibility of mold, which was found. I drink a lot if water and now realize that black mold spores are growing in my ice maker!! This is life threatening to me!!

     I have a Samsung Refrigerator that I purchased in November 2016 that has been a nightmare. The ice maker has been replaced twice. The door handle broke off and now I’m dealing with ice freezing on the back panel, water under the large tray that I have to remove daily and it needing a defrost sensor.      We purchased a Samsung refrigerator (model RF28HFEDBSR/AA) at Home Depot in November 2015. We started having problems with the ice maker freezing up within less than a year from the date of purchase. Although the ice maker has been serviced / replaced 3 times, it continues to freeze up and stops producing ice. We have spent a lot of money on bags of ice. I’m addition to the ice maker, the fan motor had to be replaced within 2 years from the date of purchase, and the compressor replaced within 3 years from the date of purchase. As a result we lost all the food in the fridge including milk and dairy products as well as several pounds of meat. This was quite a potential for a health hazard for my whole family. I have filed claims with Samsung but they refuse to give me a full refund on a defective product.

     We purchased a Samsung RF23HCEDBSR refrigerator and it has had problems from a few months into ownership. It does not make ice, the ice it did make after first repair tasted strange. It broke again. The compressor was replaced within the first year as well. It pools water under the crisper drawer which causes mold to form so it must be cleaned VERY frequently. It DOES NOT hold the correct temperature!! I KNOW this is likely the cause of my kids and us getting sick on different occasions. The appliances Samsung makes are unsafe! They lie to their consumers about anything from the number of services one has had (reducing the number on their end), stating their repairs have “fixed” something that is a KNOWN manufacturer defect!!

The ice maker freezes over several times a week and leaks a large amount of water & forms ice under the coolselect drawer and ultimately flows onto the floor and freezes the coolselect drawer shut about every 5 days. The fan makes noises when the ice maker freezes over about every 5 to 7 days. We have turned the ice maker off completely but water and ice still pool under the coolselect drawer onto the floor. My husband is a long time diabetic and the commercial grade refrigerator thermometer we purchased because food was spoiling often, consistently reads 39 to 45 degrees even though the door display tells us the temp is 35 to 37 degrees.      Purchased a French door refrigerator 8/2019. It has always sort of clunked, clanked and made odd sounds. The ice maker initially worked, but then really didn’t as it was just making noise and doing nothing. Now, we have noticed recently major fluctuations in the temps of the fridge and not keeping the fridge consistent temps. We have had many dairy items expire before their time as the temperatures get too warm to keep through the effective best by or sale dates. (40 or slightly above) I have had meats spoil quicker, and items like that that make me question the reliability of the fridge and keeping my family safe continuing to use the product. Ice maker acted up about 2020 early on the fridge temp fluctuations, we started noticing earlier spoilage about February 2021 off and on over the next year and have really seen more of a pattern recently this year. We purchased new in fridge thermometers to keep tabs on the temps and see if there was something going on and it varies wildly. We usually check first thing in the morning when no one has been in the fridge for hours to see the temp and then another times during the day, but there is more use of getting in and out of the fridge.

     All milk goes bad after 2-3 days, I get milk often talking about 50 gallons at least that we never finish before we have to buy again. Approximately Tomatoes to trash 60lbs, lime/lemon 30lbs, watermelons 6, juice 30 gal, cheese 40 lbs including fresh and monterrey big bags or the big package. Lettuce 1 per week for a year, eggs 6 packages of 18. Juice about 6 a month going bad buying just bare minimum to avoid going bad and unable to get orange juice because doesnt last either. Ham, sausages, etc about 4 a month of each for a year going bad. All kinds of fruits not lasting 1 day specially berries strawberries blueberries etc. Yogurts, salads, sour cream, cabbage, cucumbers, onions, cilantro (dead by next day) sauces. Left over food. Etc. The list goes on and on, lots of food thrown away.

     Over the months we’re talking about $2,000 in food I keep throwing away that went bad, if not more, food going bad faster over the last 4 months, please see pictures I sent by text of last week’s market full of mold. Since we got this fridge ice maker never worked but i didn’t use much so didn’t care much, when finally decided to get it fixed calling Samsung customer service because my kids always complained of not having ice it was fixed, and mother board changed, but then food started going bad, ice all over inside, and now not cooling at all with everything going bad for the last 3 months and keep buying and throwing away over and over with mold all over. It’s exhausting to keep buying food to throw away, clean fridge and still get mold everywhere and the smell that doesn’t go away, it’s unhealthy for me and kids and expensive to keep buying food. Most of food from last week it’s bad now. I was in hospital just Saturday with extreme stomach pain, most likely caused from eating bad food.

     I am living out of a cooler and need to refrigerate [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] meds. I purchased a fridge from Home Depot or $2,184.29 on May 30, 2016 Within the first year, I had significant issues with the ice maker. Samsung Authorized Technician (ME-NH Computer Services Appliances) has now repaired this ice maker twice. I have also experienced overwhelming loud noise from the fan (condenser). I paid, out of pocket, $375 to fix this problem in the Fall of 2021. Up till yesterday (2/22/2022) I have never had any problems with the temperature/safety of the refrigerator. Technicians worked on my refrigerator for no more than one hour (arrival at [REDACTED], departed at [REDACTED]). I will note that when they arrived, they observed, with me, that my refrigerator was operating at safe and normal temperature. This was on a brand new refrigerator thermometer. They replaced the ice maker (allegeding they replaced parts that were not part of the original repair) and the control board (which for me was my 3rd board, at this point). At [REDACTED], my internal temp was 52 degrees. This was more than 3 hours after technicians left and they only had the refrigerator powered down/opened for a fraction of the hour they were here. It was full of food and medication. At [REDACTED], I checked the unit again. It was at 50 degrees. These temperatures were not only displayed on the unit’s readout, but on the refrigerator thermometer. I powered down the unit, unloaded food and medication, and let the unit stay off for more than 5 minutes, then powered it back on and went to bed. This morning, while the display showed 38 degrees, the specifically recommended setting from Samsung, the actual temperature was 44 degrees. FDA states that safe refrigerator temperatures are to be below 40 degrees. I have no faith, and every reason to doubt the safety of this refrigerator for my family’s food and medication. I was told my case was escalated last night and someone would call today. I have not received a call.

     I am rejecting this response because: While many have successfully won arguments over these inherent design flaws that should be covered outside an initial 1 year warranty, the simple fact of the matter is this: Their last repair to my ice-maker made my refrigerator fail to work properly and IS UNSAFE. As my original correspondence states, my internal temperatures were safe and accurate, as observed by myself and their authorized technicians prior to this repair. I have seen no evidence that Samsung has communicated with their authorized repair technician about this fact. This company refused to cover anything but the “ice maker repair” and ignored the fact that their repair created a whole new problem. Regardless of any decision about fixing other design flaws or reimbursing me the value of the refrigerator, they made my refrigerator UNSAFE. Complaint: [REDACTED]

     I am rejecting this response because: I am lost to see why this is not being considered by Samsung and/or BBB. A Samsung Authorized Technician witnessed a safe, accurate, and consistent temperature BEFORE the repair which included a new control board. Now, post-repair, my refrigerator’s temperature is NO LONGER SAFE, ACCURATE, or CONSISTENT with what is displayed on the front. Whether we agree or not that Samsung should be covering the larger issue with this refrigerator (even though it is outside what they consider a limited warranty) Samsung recent repair created a larger issue outside of the ice maker. A repair that made my refrigerator UNSAFE is not acceptable.

     My Samsung refrigerator stopped working a few month ago. I contacted Samsung to have it repaired, and it’s been a nightmare. They sent multiple repair technicians, and all charged me without repairing the unit. Some appear to be scammers who do not have experience in repairing refrigerators. Samsung’s customer support was very unhelpful when I called. They even disputed the 10-year warranty on the compressor. Right now it’s taking space in my house without being used. Before complete failure, the lack of proper cooling caused food poisoning with vomiting and diarrhea.

     I purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator in 2014/2015. After 24 months the inside coils began to freeze along with the ice maker. This stopped the circulation fan and caused the inside temperature to rise about 60 degrees. It required taking the back panel off and using a hair dryer to defrost the coils. This procedure is required monthly. I repaired it by replacing a defrost thermostat. This fixed it for roughly 2 years. From 2019 till now I’ve had to do a manual defrost on a monthly basis.

     I was defrosting my problematic Samsung French door refrigerator with a hair dryer and received a tremendous shock when ice melted into the hair dryer. Why was I using a hair dryer to defrost my icemaker? Because it freezes up and stops making ice about once a week. The Samsung French door icemaker issues is a very common problem as discussed in multiple online community groups, and a hot hair dryer seems to be the most commonly mentioned solution. Samsung is aware of the product defect, and they are also aware of the methods people are using - including hair dryers - to unfreeze their icemakers as many people have posted it on their community pages. Samsung has refused to address the issue, and is aware of the hair dryer solution.

     The consumer indicates that one of his refrigerator shelves has a glass surface that is held in place by rigid plastic molding, and in between said glass surface and molding there is a buildup that cannot be cleaned as the glass surface cannot be removed. The consumer states that other models of this shelf have removable glass for cleaning purposes. The buildup cannot be cleaned is known to be a bio-hazard and potential cause for (i) cancer and (ii) kidney failure.

     The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to informed him that it was unfortunate the product was designed in this manner but that because it was not an issue covered under warranty that they could not assist him. The representative also advised him to contact a third-party authorized repair center to see if they had replacement parts however upon speaking to a representative there, he was informed that they do not have a different model that could fit his unit and that replacing it with the same one would not fix the issue. The consumer plans on keeping his refrigerator for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

     I felt like our food was going bad faster than it should. I asked a friend that used to work on appliances and he said to buy a temp sensor and see what the real temp is in the fridge. My Samsung fridge regularly goes from 31 to 41 of the course of the day. I placed the sensor in the back of the fridge so it wouldn’t get false reading. I will get an alert on my phone in the middle of the night when no one is up so I know the door is shut. This is a Samsung 2 door 2 drawer fridge freezer combo. It is located in my kitchen.      I would like to file a complaint about my Samsung Refrigrator. It is model RF263BEAESG. I have tried to remody this problem with Samsung to no available. Upon research I have discovered that this is a known problem with this model of Samsung Refrigrator. My service number with Samsung is [REDACTED]. I was told by a Samsung support on September 3 that I would receive a calling within 24 to 48 hours which I did, only to be told that they could not find anyone to diagnose my problem. My freeze is overfreezing and the top refridgrator part is not getting cold. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food. The rep informed there is nothing that can be done even though its under warranty. I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was transferred to [REDACTED] (they gave me not reference number or extension) who informed me that its is under a 5 year warranty but I would need to hire a diagnosis tech pay them, not get reimbursed, send them the diagnosis and they will see what they can do. That’s not satisfactory they are suppose to send out their own tech and if they can not they should reimburse. I am a disabled individual with special needs children and had to throw my insulin and food away. I have spoken with 2 refrigrator technicians in my area and they said that Samsung is known to have this problem and no technicians in the area will work on them because of the problems with Samsung. I have spoken with another company outside of my area who says that they are not Samsung certified and that Samsung is handled by specialize technicans. As I mentioned earlier through my research many many people have the same problems that I am.

     I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator model #RF28HFEDBSR from Best Buy for $1,857.74 and it was delivered in January 2015. I filed service requests in 2018 and 2019 with Samsung for issues with the unit (documented on their site). My ice maker has not consistently worked since 2018 and completely froze up and stopped in 2019. In addition, the unit stops cooling about every 6 months and I have to replace all the contents inside. At least now I have learned what the loud humming noise means, and I can move most items to a cooler or garage fridge. I have been living without an ice maker and a reliable fridge for years. I recently learned that Samsung has been aware of these issues and could have proactively reached out to me, as I registered my product on their site, but they have not. I want Samsung to replace my fridge. Currently, I am willing to eat, pun intended, the spoilage from the 6 times my fridge has stopped working. For the $1800 paid, my children and I deserve a product that works from a company who did not intentionally sell a faulty product.

     I’m writing this email in regards to the issues of my Samsung French Door Refrigerator.

     Refrigerator Information: Model #: RF25HMEDBSR/AA Serial #: 0AFJ4BBGA02362K Purchase Date: 11/27/15 Purchase Price: $1997.49 Dealer: New England Appliance (Braintree, MA.)

     This was the original email I sent to Samsung regarding my refrigerator issue: The fridge had problems approximately 1-year after installation. We had a service company fix the ice maker at least two times, each time changing the draw and some electrical component. The ice maker has never worked correctly since then. We constantly have to defrost the unit as it just forms a giant block of ice. Currently we can’t remove the draw as it is totally frozen (encased). We have to remove everything from the refrigerator in order for this to thaw out. In addition, we now have the entire back of the refrigerator unit forming ice behind the rear panel encasing the coils. We’ve had to thaw this out on a bi-weekly basis! The air will not circulate within the refrigerator, although the fridge is cold, we can’t keep milk in there as it goes bad. I have tried calling 4 service vendors in this area, NOBODY will work on these refrigerators. They told me that the problem will come back a week after they leave, so it’s not worth them servicing these units. The only remedy is to constantly de-thaw the fridge and ice maker on a continuous basis. This is extremely frustrating as we paid nearly $2000 for this unit. For comparison, we still have an old [REDACTED] refrigerator in the basement that is 20-years old and runs perfectly fine!

     After Samsung received that email, they did send a repair service to change the icemaker unit. However, they would not address the freezing panel/coil issue and stated a new ticket would need to be made. After numerous email exchanges with the NJ BBB and Samsung, Samsung ultimately stated they would not do anything for this issue as it is out of warranty. However, this has nothing to do with a warranty issue, but rather a design defect issue! These Samsung service bulletins below acknowledge there is an issue with my model along with numerous other models. (05/24/17) Service Bulletin # [REDACTED] (for the ice-maker issues) (10/05/17) Service Bulletin # [REDACTED] (for the rear panel/coil freeze-up issues) Samsung KNOWS this refrigerator model has design defects and yet refuses to fix the problem, recall the unit, or compensate me for a refund. I must manually unplug my refrigerator every 2-weeks for 24-hours in order for all of the ice to melt. We have lost hundreds of dollars of food, milk, and most importantly medicines due to high temperatures within the refrigerator (50-degrees actual with thermometer). This is a well known problem, currently there are 109,000 members of a [REDACTED] group with the identical problems that I’m having. Samsung has been repairing some and refunding others, but there is no rhyme or reason to how this is done, totally hit or miss! I’m respectfully requesting compensation for this appliance as the issues have been going on for so long, and nobody can or is willing to fix them correctly. I’m looking forward to hearing from you regarding this matter.

     My Samsung refrigerator is once again failing. in 12/20, the faulty ice maker was replaced due to failure from a known design flaw. The icemaker and refrigerator are once again failing. The refrigerator and freezer are not holding appropriate temperature and all the food is spoiling. We have a baby and it is not safe to feed him and all the breast milk is going bad. My wife is absolutely horrified. There is over a year’s worth of breast milk saved up in the refrigerator and it is liquified and spoiling. This item is 100% irreplaceable. I am in need of an emergency repair or refund. We are a household of 5 and the spoiled foods are excessive. These are known defects from Samsung from faulty designs. There are two class actions in the US and Israel. I need a resolution ASAP for the safety of my family and baby.

     I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator from Lowes Model RF18HFENBSR and like so many others, it ices up in the back and temperatures go up. I’ve lost a lot of food. I feel like I’m living in the 50’s when we people had to manually defrost refrigerators.

     January of 2022 my SAMSUNG refrigerator stopped cooling resulting to the lost all of my food and medications. The temperature reading on the refrigerator door said safe degrees for food storage. But internally the temperature was hotter and unsafe for food which was found out after I ate something. Then it got even hotter spoiling all of my food and medications. I called SAMSUNG and they sent out a total of 3 technicians over the course of a month. The final diagnosis was concluded that my refrigerator was defective, could not be repaired and that it will have to be exchanged by Samsung, which they are not following through on their promise to exchange. I have been without a refrigerator/freezer for 3½ months now, I have a baby and medically dependent person to take care of and it so hard to do without fresh food and medications.

     We’ve had a Samsung Refrigerator for several years and it’s no longer functional. The ice machine doesn’t work, and the display panel will show a temperature of 34 degrees, but inside the refrigerator it’s more than 50 degrees. Food has been spoiled as result of it, we’re at the risk of food poisoning, and so much money and time has been spent trying to fix it. We’ll like to understand what steps can we take to get the refrigerator fixed or at least have a refund for a new refrigerator.
