    The product, in the report: French door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom

    9/2021: The consumer contacted Samsung and they offered to replace his refrigerator. A week after the consumer got the replacement fridge it started acting up. It stopped making ice, does not insulate well, so it leaks water from the door.

    1/17/2023: The consumer’s replacement fridge is having the same “exact” issues as his previous refrigerator. He has had Samsung repair the replacement refrigerator 3 times already.

    Over the past 3 weeks the consumer has contacted Samsung about this numerous times. Samsung said they will give him a $500 off coupon or depreciate it and credit half of the value. Samsung offered to replace the ice maker, but the refrigerator is still leaking water. The consumer did not accept any of these offers as he is looking for a complete fix, full refund or new refrigerator. He does not want a used replacement as he will most likely run into the same problems. The consumer uses this product daily and he is concerned that this is a water slip hazard.

    The consumer indicates that his ice maker has stopped making ice twice in 2018 and 2019 however because it has been under warranty the manufacturer has sent out a replacement.

    The ice maker stopped working again so the consumer turned it off. The unit is out of warranty so there is nothing the manufacturer can do free of charge.

    The consumer notes that the freezer temperature fluctuates from 0 degrees to -28F.

    Samsung french door fridge continually ices/freezes up despite good content placement, and purchasing and installing “fix” part from Samsung. The part was supposed to prevent the interior drain from freezing up and blocking but it does not resolve the issue. The ice buildup causes the fridge to be unable to maintain set temperature, with resulting repeated food spoilage, illness and multiple days spent removing food, defrosting, cleaning, and replacing food. Also much food has had to be discarded. Note: this issue has happened multiple times.

    Bought refridgerator, thermostat on front panel showed 34F, but food spoilage would occur at a fast rate. Internal temperature actually shown as ~44F. Most food ended up being discarded as it would spoil very quickly. Waited over a year for company to do repairs, they never showed.

    Unfortunately the refrigerator went out of warranties before this was found to be an issue. I believe Samsung is banking on the ignorance of first time home owners, and making quite a profit off it.

    I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator Model# RF28R7201SR/AA in January 2020 and in June 2022 I noticed my produce was spoiling after 3 to 4 days. Milk was spoiling after 5 days. My family had belly aches and nausea. I turned the temp up in the fridge and on the electronic temp gage it read as 34 degrees. I placed a thermometer in their and it gave a reading of 50. I have had repair people come out 6 times and they keep troubleshooting with Samsung and replacing sensors, control boards, fans, and it still does not get colder than 5o degrees. It has now been 8 months and Samsung or Sears Home Warranty has replaced my fridge.

    Samsung refrigerator model #RF28HDEDBSR/AA Ice maker has malfunctioned three times. It will not make ice, it causes the temperature in the refrigerator to rise between 45-55 degrees, causing our food to spoil and our insulin pens having to be replaced. Water leaks out of the dispenser on the front of the door, slowy ruining my hardwood floor. My husband had food poisoning over Christmas this year. Samsung has come out to “fix” the ice maker, even replaced it completely one time, only to have it continuously fail. This refrigerator with known defects at the time of sale is putting me and my family at risk, jeopardizing our health and safety daily.

    I purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator, model# RF28JBEDBSG/AA in November of 2015. The refrigerator was delivered in mid 2016. We noticed issues with the icemaker after the first year and thought this was an isolated issue. The icemaker freezes over, does not produce ice and water leakes into the fridge. Also the backpanel of the fridge freezes over, the fridge makes a loud noise because the fan cannot run due to the ice build up. We also noticed a discrepancy with the internal temperature of the refrigerator as it differs from the temperature on the external display. The display shows 38 degrees but the actual temperature reached 50 degrees and above. We first noticed the temperature issue when food in the fridge was molded and items were not cool to touch. I had to throw out all items and my husband’s medication. We had to replace all items! Samsung continuously denies that there are serious issues with this refrigerator. This refrigerator is a health hazard! People are losing money, getting sick not knowing the temperature display is erroneous. Please someone do something about it!!!! People are getting sick!

    My Samsung refrigerator, model RF26J7500, has had repeated issues with the ice maker freezing up and becoming jammed. Despite Samsung supposedly repairing the issue, it has occurred again - and now, at the same time, the refrigerator has ceased cooling to a safe temperature (currently holding in the upper 50s / low 60s) - causing me to lose a fridge full of food. Samsung was willing to send out another repair tech to repair the ice maker again, but are currently refusing to assist with the cooling issue. I only noticed the fridge was not cooling food to safe temperatures due to a tube/can of biscuits popping/exploding within the fridge - otherwise, I may have not noticed and gotten sick from eating the food within.

Continuous times of water all over the floor and under the veggie drawer, Ice machine leaking, Compressor failing. Tactics from Samsung stating there are no KNOWN issues with their product. Product shorted out causing breaker to trip, outlet sparked and blackened after the compressor went THIS IS from todays service visit! 2 boards are fried and the compressor has gone bad. So in 12 months I have had the Ice Maker repaired, I have fixed the defrost coils (x2), the thermal sensors, the fans . Last December I had to do the ice maker as well. Now I have 2 boards and a compressor that needs to be replaced yet Samsung is stating there are know known issues on this model. A 3500 fridge with over 2k in repairs along with thousands of dollars in food thrown out, Please Please Help!

    I have a Samsung refrigerator model number RF220NCTASR that has stopped cooling. Samsung has no authorized repair dealers in my area and will not will reimburse me. I first noticed the issue on 12/9 with my fridge. I had a non Samsung repair man look at it but he couldn’t find anything wrong. It began working again on its own. This morning on 12/10 I woke up and all my food in the fridge was at 55-60 degrees. I lost about $200 worth of food and a $700 medication. I had called Samsung in 12/9 and spoke to A lady who gave me ticket number [REDACTED] and told her my fridge is only 2 1/2 years old. She said they don’t compensate for any food or medication lost and could not guarantee and reimbursement. It is now the weekend and I’m out a fridge with no one to call. When I looked in my freezer, I noticed my ice bucket was a solid sheet of ice so it appears this may have been happening far longer than I realized, jeopardizing my health as I was eating the food and had medication that I needed to take that could harm me if it gets warm.

    My Samsung refrigerator, It was defective from the beginning. I have had numerous bouts of food poisoning, injured myself from slipping and falling from leaking water all coming from my refrigerator one morning. I have pictures of the injuries. It has gone on since 2016 and I have had 4 or 5 icemaker replaced only to still end up with wet ice and my produce drawer area fill with water. The latest verdict from Samsung is that it isn’t anything that is covered. When expressing my concern of the temperature inside, the technician stated that it was now leaking from the back panel!! And that replacement part and service wouldn’t be covered but I could pay 400 dollars but there was no guarantee that that replacement part would fix it!

    I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator in September of 2015. It worked flawlessly for almost exactly three years (fridge delivered 9/16/2015). On 9/17/2018, I reported issues with the unit not maintaining cold temperatures to Samsung customer support. I was instructed to put a towel under the unit and turn it off for three days to make sure it completely defrosted and was referred to a certified repair company located 70 miles away. The Service Repair center was unable to schedule a repair due to the existing warrantee work and the distance. After some research, I learned of an icing problem around the circulation fan and was able to de-ice the refrigerator which seemed to fix the temperature issues. This proved to be a temporary fix. I needed to repeat the deicing activity every 2-3 months. In 2020 I disabled the icemaker which proved to be a longer solution, although still temporary. Now the icing activity builds up below the third door (above the freezer). The temperature variations in the refrigerator has led initially led to food spoilage and probably food sickness in my family. I believe I have remedied the issue despite repeated calls to Samsung. I plan on replacing the refrigerator ASAP.

    My Samsung four door refrigerator, purchased in 2017, was defective and failed prematurely. The entire contents of the refrigerator, the middle drawer, and the bottom freezer failed and all the food spoiled. Even before it failed the ice maker constantly froze up and had to be manually defrosted every 3 days. When I called Samsung, they said the refrigerator was 5 years and 7 months old so there was no warranty. The refrigerator had two compressors, one for the refrigerator section and one for the freezer section and both compressors failed. We decided not to throw good money after bad and scrapped the Samsung refrigerator and purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator. We will never purchase another Samsung appliance. They are just dangerous junk!

    I have had a Samsung RF263BEAESR refigerator since the end of 2014. I have experienced serveral issues related to this refrigerator from the ice maker not working to the refrigerator not cooling to the proper temperature and the back of the refrigerator icing up. Samsung has been out twice to try and fix the ice maker, but won’t fix the cooling problems with the fridge. I recently had the temperature set at 37 degrees and kept track of the internal temperature with a digital thermometer. The temperature seldom went below 42 degrees and never stayed at or near the 37 degree mark. Additionally, the back of the fridge freezes up on average every 7 weeks, more so in the summer. These temperatures are not safe for food. The last time I unthawed the refrigerator was October 16, 2022.

    The house we moved into had a Samsung RF23R6301SR refrigerator with ice maker. The ice maker was not working the temperature was not well controlled and water dripped into the lower drawer. We contacted Samsung and they repaired the ice maker on 6/15/2022 at no charge. On 10/30/22 the ice maker again was not working. Samsung sent out a repair person on 11/2/22 to repair it. He left and assured us everything was working fine. Later that evening we noticed the refrigerator and freezer were not cooling and the ice maker still did not work. We contacted Samsung and they have been delaying sending out anyone to repair our refrigerator. they had nothing but excuses why they couldn’t send someone out immediately. As a result all the food in our refrigerator and freezer was ruined. Finally, today after many phone calls they are sending someone tomorrow 11/11/22 to diagnose the problem. They insist that they will only pay for the ice maker repair since the refrigerator is out of warranty. They are ignoring the fact that the refrigerator and freezer were working fine before the last ice maker repair which also included replacing the main control board that controls all the refrigerator and freezer functions. I would like them to compensate me for all the lost food and give me compensation towards a new refrigerator, not Samsung. I understand that they are under a [REDACTED] for the ice makers and a class action for the refrigerators.

    We purchased a Samsung model#RF260BEAESG/AA02. After about 6 months multiple things went wrong. Fan broke, error codes flashing, thermostat did not work right, a lot of build up of ice in fridge and freezer, freezer handle fell off and who knows what else was wrong. Shut it off several times to try to reset it and now is sitting unplugged waiting for removal. Because the thermostat didn’t work the food was too warm. My son and girl friend got sick from eating food that was not properly kept in such conditions unaware that the food was not cold enough. Products like this are LEMONS and I know I am not the only one. People are getting ripped off by SAmsung for thousands and getting sick and someone has to speak up!

    Samsung has a Auto Fill Pitcher that has a faulty gasket which doesn’t seal properly. When pouring water from the pitcher it leaks from below the pour spout almost hidden. Water pours to the floor causing slipping hazards. I called Samsung to report this problem and was stonewalled from reporting a safety concern and product performance issue. I was told they can’t do anything which seems extremely ignorant on their part. I don’t want a replacement I just want it reported and fixed to prevent slipping hazards to future consumers.

    Samsung Refrigerator model R32FMQDBSR/AA ice maker not working properly. It is frozen several times & been replaced 3 times.     I bought a Samsung Counter Depth 4-Door Refrigerator (Model RF24FSEDBSR) and extended warranty from Lowes on August 19, 2014. This purchase totaled $2836.52 for what I had been told was a high-end and reliable appliance. Throughout my ownership of this refrigerator, the ice maker has not maintained proper function. Oftentimes, the icemaker freezes itself and stops producing ice. The issue became such an intrusive part of ownership that we turned it off and bought a countertop ice machine at a cost of $154.37. In addition to our issues with the appliance’s ice maker, we have experienced erratic temperature control within the refrigerator part of the appliance. Noticing food spoilage within the refrigerator, we bought two digital refrigerator/freezer thermometers at a cost of $23.66, to check the refrigerator’s temperature at shelf and door locations. These devices often report significant temperature differences from the temperature presented on the outside panel of the refrigerator’s door, with the internal temperature often reaching 44 degrees or higher. It has been a challenge to store many types of products, specifically dairy, within this appliance without them spoiling prematurely. After performing initial research on the issues we’ve experienced, we learned Samsung has acknowledged both issues through Service Bulletins provided to their technicians. When we bought the refrigerator, we put great faith in the Samsung brand and the implied warranty behind any such large appliance. Instead, this appliance clearly has a design defect causing known and proven problems with the icemaker and temperature regulation, and never should have been made available for sale to the public. This appliance may be beyond its express warranty period, but it’s time that Samsung stands behind its name, appliances, and the implied warranty included with each sale. Not doing so is clearly severely limiting the safety, use, and value of the appliance, including endangering my family through exposure to improper food temperatures.

    Good morning, I would like to report yet another problem with our Samsung Refrigerator. Model number RF28HFEDTSR. After a power outage last week, our lower ice maker in the freezer stopped making ice. I have been through all of the online fixes on Samsung’s support page, however, this has not fixed the issue. We have had numerous problems with this Refrigerator since we have gotten it and had numerous repairs done on it to the point of almost buying a new refrigerator with the amount of repair work we have had done. We have had the top ice maker replaced and repaired, and we have had the condenser unit behind the twin cooling panel completely replaced and repaired. Our food has spoiled numerous times, We have gotten food poisoning at least a couple of times from this. NOW, our lower ice maker is not working. When I unplug the unit and plug it back in, I am getting a 33 E error code (water pipe heater failure.) Not another $300 to $400 dollars on this piece of junk. I am so tired of this. I want a refund or a complete replacement. Appreciate any help you can offer, I am beyond frustrated and I am seeking action. Thanks!

    I have a Samsung RF265BEAESR/AA refrigerator. The week of September 23rd I noticed my food was warmer than normal. A few days later my food was completed warmed and thawed in my freezer. The ice maker completely froze over and I couldnt even get the bin out. It started to leak water from the freezer and I lost about $400-$500 worth of food. I called Samsung and was told about my warranty. 1 yr, 5yr and 10yr. I agreed to have a tech come take a look for a $150 service fee. The day of the service no one ever showed up. I called back very frustrated and was told they canceled the order because the part was discontinued. I asked how do u know without coming to look at it. The said they had a way. Next I talked to another rep who told me they would give me a refund and deduct 10% for every year outside of the warranty. So $2300 minus 40% = $1380. I then wrote a complaint to the [REDACTED] and now their customer care agent has called and said they aren’t going to help at all.

Samsung refuses to even come out and see what’s wrong with it. The code that comes up is the condenser which is still under warranty. Samsung said there is nothing they can do and for me to contact an independent company. No one will work on Samsung fridges and they know that.     The family Hub Samsung refrigerator began not freezing last year. A technician was sent out and told me that it was not covered by the warranty. Ended up paying for them to come out and fix a small issue. Well again last month it began to do the same thing. Not freezing since 9/21. The technician said I had to pay them to come out. As a single mom I did not have the funds. Then a week later the ice stopped working I called Samsung and schedule an appointment. They did not show up until the following week by this time the entire fridge did not work. I lost all groceries just bought and on top of that I was told that they had to go through a process even though the tech new it was not fixable. the supervisor stated to try and fix it. It has been 3 weeks without a fridge and waiting on parts and techs to come out and to qualify for food loss until the ticket is close. This refrigerators are expensive as they are did I mention I bought the fridge in 2019??

    I am contacting you regarding a refrigerator I bought from Samsung. Samsung know that these refrigerators are defective and that these are well known, well documented issues - even their own service bulletins prove this. Soon after I purchase the refrigerator we started experiencing issues with the ice maker and the ice freezing into one big block vs. pieces of ice. After many, many, many calls and service issues Samsung sent a tech that changed a part on the refrigerator - since then we have been experiencing cooling issues. We constantly have to throw away food. We have never been able to rely on this refrigerator - not even for ice! This is insane that a company can get away with this.

    We are the owners of a Samsung Refrigerator model # RF23M8570SR which is the subject of multiple issues, including failure of the icemaker, flooding from leaking water, and multiple reported fire hazards. Also, the interior temperature of our refrigerator is much higher than that indicated in the digital display which has caused us over the years to throw out many thousands of dollars worth of meat, fish poultry and eggs due to concerns about food poisoning and bacterial infection. Samsung has sent multiple repairmen To our our home but the problems remain unresolved. Product was manufactured in January 2018 and delivered to our home in the summer of 2018 following a kitchen remodel. Disappointed and simply want a full refund of our purchase price and to have the clearly defective product taken away and discontinued as Samsung has known about this hazard yet sold these units anyway, unsafe and in breach of the implied warranty of safety and merchantability. .

    Samsung side by side refrigerator at any time hasn’t seem to have a pattern or certain time the temperature will go from 36 degree to 64 degrees daily at these times condensation is so bad it drips water. I can’t even have milk or cream stored in it; it spoils in one day. Samsung technician came out and told me they have this problem with this model doing exactly what was happening to mine. Seeing he really wasn’t trained or didn’t correct the problem before he left. I had two other refrigeration companies out both times replaced gasket cleaned coil and compressor was working. I contacted the BBB and wrote to Samsung Corporate office after doing that Samsung called me back the same day, before that happened, I couldn’t get through to speak to someone I would get transferred and the call would be lost. Samsung told me they had no record of any service, I told her I believed that surely, he didn’t fix it and asking for a receipt I was told he would email it. That also didn’t happen. I bought all of their appliance’s washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator all at the same time. It is only me that uses it so it’s not due to opening and closing it. She had a problem because I purchased them in 2016 but didn’t use any of them, they were stored in my garage until the builder finished my home. I mention to corporate that I contacted BBB and was told it wouldn’t get me anywhere. Two days later I was contacted by Samsung that they closed my complaints. Reading all the reviews I see there are many others and hopefully one day they will recall these refrigerators. I sent them pictures of the sweat, temperature reading on the thermometer. I will have no choice but to purchase a new refrigerator being on SSDI it’s hard but also hard to keep paying for someone to tell me this model has a defeat, and my complaint should go beyond Samsung.

    Samsung refrigerator is absolute junk, the water dispenser is dispensing warm water even though the reservoir is located in the refrigerator. on a hot day the freezer does not freeze and temp on the freezer needs to be turned up, when the weather cools down the low freezer temps cause the fan to freeze over and stop working causing the freezer to heat up again. My family has gotten food poisoning from this and all the problems occurred a few days after warranty expired and Samsung wants to charge $150 just to send a tech out to look at it a second time.     I have a Samsung Refridgerator that continues to freeze up and does not maintain the proper temperature causing food to spoil. My daughter got sick after eating deli meat that had gone bad and she did not know. We do not have ice because the ice maker has frozen solid again and the ice maker bucket is once again frozen solid and stuck.

    I purchased Samsung RF25HMEDBSG in 2017. The ice maker leaked and stopped making ice. Samsung called out repair man twice to fix the issue, covered under warranty. However, now the internal fan makes a LOUD noise which stops when the door is opened. The fan noise stopped (repair man says there is ice build up in the back). My fridge is no longer keeping temp (only 50 def F) and has water running down the back of the fridge. My family of 5 is eating spoiled food, making us sick. How many 10,000’s of people have to have the same issue before there is a recall? shame on you

    We have owned a very expensive ($3,500) Samsung refrigerator (Model: RF24FSEDBSR) for just over 6 years.

    The refrigerator shows that it is set at 34 degrees Fahrenheit. My children drink milk every morning, and they started to complain about the bad taste. I smelled the milk and it had gone rotten. Curios, I put a thermometer in the fridge and it is only reading 43 degrees Fahrenheit. Samsung apparently is aware that these refrigerators have issues with the coils freezing, and now they have caused the potential for my children and myself and wife to contract foodborne illnesses. I had nausea, diareah, and vomiting from eating some of the leftovers in the refrigerator.

    According to the USDA: “Bacteria grow most rapidly in the range of temperatures between 40 and 140 °F, the “Danger Zone,” some doubling in number in as little as 20 minutes.     The sad part is, Samsung is STILL selling this fridge and others just like it, with KNOWN issues on their websites and through many distributors. This product and many other Samsung refrigerators should be recalled, and consumers be refunded their money. Thank you.

    My Samsung fridge stopped cooling in the beginning of August. This is a safety hazard as I have medication that must be refrigerated . I notified them on Aug 10. Today is Sept 22 and no repairs have been made. This is a known defect with the fridge. I was forced to pay almost $200 for a diagnosis, even though this is a known defect.

    My Samsung fridge quit cooling. Just up and quit after a month and a half of use. Brand new and out of the box. I did not consume anything from my fridge after it quit cooling. I have been in contact numerous times with Samsung and i get no where with them. They tell me that there are only 2 certified repair shops to diagnose the issue. When they provide me with the repair ticket and place to fix it, I call the repair shop directly and speak to the owner. Both places tell me that they will not repair Samsung anymore. They do not accept tickets from Samsung. So now there aren’t any certified places to get it fixed and they tell me to contact a local guy and fix it on my own dime. No helping even though it still has over 10 months left on the manufactures warranty.

    I purchased a Samsung side by side refrigerator from day one my refrigerator different times of the day sweats and temperature rise’s as high as 60 degrees’. Milk, cream spoils it is so bad butter melts, I have set it to Samsungs manual setting. Two different service company have set it and still having trouble. Both companies said that Samsung has had many complaints for this same reason this is dangerous, I’ve had service twice each time they charge $150.00 just to come out. I have hundreds twice a new gasket, coil cleaned , compressor checked and still sweating and temperature problems. When purchasing I bought refrigerator, dishwasher and stove all to match. Service men both told me to replace it with a different manufacture. I paid $1400 for it and have $750.00 for repairs and today nothing has changed. No refrigerator should go from 36 degrees to 60 degrees and everything soaking wet inside.

    The product, in the report: Samsung refrigerator Model RF260BEAESR French door. Stainless steel. 25.5 cu ft., 35.75 in W, 70 in H, 35.63 in D. For some reason this model does not pop up on the Samsung website. Not sure why. I have all the sales ads and paper documentation.

    purchased my Samsung RF260BEAESR refrigerator in October 2016. Two months ago I noticed that the temperature wasn’t correct. After researching it and doing everything I could, I placed my own thermometer in it and was getting readings as high as 57.7°. The tech I talked to said there really was nothing they could do to repair the fridge, so I chose not to spend the money just to have a repair person come out and tell me the same thing.

    The following morning, I woke up to a flooded kitchen and subsequently a ruined basement ceiling. My kitchen floor, which is wood, is permanently damaged. My basement ceiling will need extensive work to repair the damage.

    My freezer of my fridge started going out for no reason back in June and by August stopped working altogether. Wasn’t getting cold even though the fridge portion was just right. Issue was we had a lot of food in the freezer we had to use or it would ruin. The Appliance repair man that came to check the freezer said my control panel wasn’t working right keeping the temp at rhe correct levels that the board in the back of the fridge went out. He ordered a new board and once installed the twin fans came on. That night the power went out from 3am to 12pm so I wasn’t able to tell if the board was fixing the issue or not. He came back later and checked aeound and even though both fans were running at the time of board installation, the freezer now longer was again. So he ordered a new fan, week later came and installed it, the fan kicks on like its suppose to and later checked the temp and it never changed. The tech stated that the freezer is defective. I had bought it in 2017 brand new but due to it sitting in the factory, we found out this particular model has been manufactured 2014 but would desist after all the parts were used for this model. Freezer still doesn’t work after paying close to $300.

    As a part of my purchase of my house in 2021, I became an owner of a 4 door flex Samsung Refridgerator. I’ve had the icemaker replaced after it was freezing up and would not make ice in October, 2021 and then in August, 2022 , I became aware that the refrigerator is not cooling properly (via bluetooth thermometer) - temperature is going over 40 degrees at times and is currently not safe for me to store my food for the risk of food poisoning. I noticed some of my food molding and then I made sure to review the last several months of the temperature history. I’ve also become aware that both of these issues are known defects that Samsung knows about and hasn’t initiated a recall. They will not come fix my refrigerator because they say it is out of warranty but this is a matter of implied warranty and you don’t expect a four year old refrigerator to not cool properly and cause dangerous situation. I’ve also become aware that both of these issues can be repaired multiple times but there is no permanent fix and sometimes they cause flooding and fires in homes. I’ve moved my refrigerator out to my garage because of these concerns and the fact that I can’t use it to store my food.

    The refrigerator icemaker has had nothing but constant issues it freezes up every couple of months and spoils food and the doors like milk and eggs. The temperature control is terrible because of the icing over of cooling system. In only one year this is happened four times I have had to call a repair man twice and the other times I had to defrost it and melt the ice with a hairdryer. This is dangerous for me because I have to keep certain medication’s for my pets cool at all times the variation of temperatures because of this problem is very dangerous.
