    Our Samsung refrigerator (RF263BEAESR) was purchased in 2015 and began having issues in 2018. The ice box began freezing over and required constant defrosting (about once every 2 weeks), By 2020, water was pooling below the deli tray. This had to be cleaned out weekly. I tried several fixes recommended by the manufacturer, purchased a fix-kit to solve an icing problem at the back of the fridge. This didn’t work. By 2022 the refrigerator’s temperature control was not working and we began to experience food spoilage. We were forced to replace the Samsung with another refrigerator. The price on the Samsung was $1874.75. When contacting Samsung, I was only able to get recorded messages.

    I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator (model# RF28HFEDBSR/AA) in 2015. Within a year or two the ice maker stopped working and ice began to build up inside the back of the refrigerator and bulge out of any openings. The ice build up became so severe the refrigerator fan stopped working resulting in a constant noise and a rise in the internal temperature of the refrigerator. I contacted Samsung several times to resolve this issue to no avail. Unable to afford a new refrigerator we have had to resort to removing all our food and melting the ice with a blow dryer every few months to keep the refrigerator functioning. In addition, we have been using ice trays to make ice. Unsafe and Unacceptable.

    I purchased a Samsung 4-Door French Door Refrigerator on July 2nd, 2017. Within about a year, we started having issues with the ice maker freezing up and stopped operation. In addition to the warranty that came with the fridge, we purchased an extended 5-year warranty. As of today, we have made 5 warranty calls, and had the ice maker replaced 3 times. We even called Samsung directly to have them come out and assess the issues with the fridge. They only did an assessment and general de-icing, but did not replace any parts. We were then notified that they will not replace the defective icemaker and fridge. They only offer to give a 50% discount on the purchase of a new fridge. Really?

    It wasn’t until today that I read an article about the high number of complaints against Samsung for their defective fridges, and that because of the icemaker issues it also caused the main compartment was not cooling to the desired temperature. This caught my eye and never thought to check. To my surprise, I put a thermometer in the main part of the fridge and the temp shown was 43 degrees. It’s supposed to be at 37. There’s no telling how many food items spoiled over the years and caused possible food poising issues. I recall many times have stomach issues and did not make the connect that it could be from my fridge and spoiled food.

    This is clearly a danger to consumers and needs to be addressed. There needs to be a recall. I spent a lot of money for a product that is clearly deflective.

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator and in just over a year, it would not cool. Turned out the back would freeze up. I initially reached out to Samsung and they were going to send out a tech. When the tech didn’t come I called and they said I’m not in a supported area. This happened a few times. The Samsung warrantee covers 1 year outside, 2 years inside. Since my refrigerator was freezing up the fan inside I assumed it should have been covered under warrantee, but Samsung said no. I dealt with it for awhile, then had to sell the refrigerator.

    I have a Samsung Refrigerator Model # RF23M8070SG which I purchased in 11/3/2018. After less than five years the refrigerator section stopped cooling consistently. I noticed the problem after getting food poisoning from eating spoiled food that had been in the refrigerator for only one day. I used a digital thermometer and discovered that the internal temperature was fluctuating from 48 to 68 degrees. I have had four service technicians attempt to repair it without any success. The motherboard and an internal sensor were replaced but the problem persists. The most recent tech ordered a part but the part wasn’t available in the USA. Samsung’s customer service has been terrible. They keep creating service tickets then transferring it back and forth between departments and then cancelling the ticket. When i call back to check on the status, they don’t know how to proceed so they create another ticket and nothing gets resolved. At one point they said they would issue me a voucher for 50% off another refrigerator since mine could not be repaired. Then they cancelled that. I do not understand how Samsung is not held accountable for producing unsafe products and not supporting their customers.

    Fridge suddenly wasnt cold. Was told to unplug it and let it sit for 5min n plug it back in. That was only a temporary fix. It seemed normal for a short amount of time before the fridge was getting warm again.they replaced the motherboard after not showing up to the first appt. Fridge is still not working. Another tech came and said we have a coolant leak. An appt was scheduled for Oct 24th. They never showed up.

    The product, in the report: The Samsung refrigerator in Black stainless, with French doors on top, a middle deli drawer, a lower freezer, and ice and water in the front.

    I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator in 2019. Within a year and a half, the ice maker started freezing up and quit producing ice. I contacted Samsung and they did nothing. Then, in roughly February of 2023, the freezer quit freezing; I again contacted Samsung and the representative had me unplug the refrigerator for a few minutes and plug it back in. This seemed to fix the freezer issue for about 3-4 months, after which it then quit working again. I contacted Samsung and they informed me that there were no repairmen in the area and if I could find one who determined it was part of the seal system, they would cover the repair cost, but not the cost of the ice machine. I did find a repairman who came out to the house, well over an hour and a half drive, only to inform me it would cost in excess of $700 to repair the unit, and he did not recommend the repair, as Samsung refrigerators are trash and the repair would last maybe a year. He recommended I purchase a different unit, pre ferably a [REDACTED] which does not use the newer freon. Samsung should recall, replace, or refund all affected refrigerators at no cost to the consumer. Today the government is worried about global warming and the environment, but the consumer can’t seem to get help, putting 82K+ refrigerators in landfills and the consumer empty handed.

    You are fully aware of us dealing with Samsung. Why has the investigation not brought a recall or fines for Samsung????

    This is a known product defect on ALL refrigerators with water on the door. Samsung is violating the Magnuson Moss Act, as well as practicing bait and switch when it comes to refunds.

    This unit has been repaired several times since its purchase. The main repair is that of the ice maker. They have either repaired, or attempted repairs 6 times since the purchase. Additionally, the technician who came from [REDACTED] just last week attempted repair but literally further damaged the unit. He came to me and said, “dude I’m sorry I’m not trained to make these repairs and in the process of diagnosing the repair I broke it even more.” REALLY?!? They further damaged the unit and now the ice dispenser on the door is cycling every 2 seconds. We’ve had to shove a dish brush up there just to mute the annoying repetitive clunking.

    I filed a claim with Samsung for which they came back with an offer of $1552.00, for which I did not agree with because they sold this knowing it was defective.

    They then came back saying that the initial offer was incorrect and I would only receive $1100.00. They then offered me $1000.00…A LOWER OFFER. I said that I would be reaching out to Lowe’s Corporate, for which I did. I found the email address for [REDACTED] who is the COO of Lowe’s Corporation.

    The following day a woman named [REDACTED] from Executive Customer Relations called my cell phone. The conversation ended with her going to call me back today, October 4th.

    Today Samsung called to say that they will offer the $1100.00 refund. NO! This was repaired within the first year ow ownership. It’s been repaired several more times AND your technician further damaged the unit and said that he was not trained to make the repair and that the unit is UNREPAIRABLE. They replied that they’re sorry for what I am going through but there’s nothing else that they can do.

    [REDACTED] from Lowe’s Executive Customer Relations did call me today at 3ish asking for an update, for which I provided. She stated that she’s going to make some calls and reach out to me this coming Friday.

    Following is the [REDACTED] page for those having problems with Samsung refrigerators. The page once went by [REDACTED] but Samsung sent them a cease and desist using their name; posting email addresses, and posting Samsung phone numbers. REALLY?!?!? THEYRE COVERING THIS UP! [REDACTED]

    There are thousands and thousands of customers who Samsung is playing with.

    We have not had a year where it didn’t need repaired. - Multiple bad ice machines - Water leaking under the produce drawers - Rear of freezer, behind the interior wall, freezes up and the fan sounds like a bike with a playing card on the spokes. - Freezer reads 0 degrees but my commercial thermometer shows 47 degrees. We’ve lost food every time and they’ve never reimbursed us.

    Samsung is operating as if they’re untouchable with no regard for customers who are going through this.

    The worst part…I am a disabled Gulf War veteran who’s dying from cancer. I DO NOT NEED TO GO THROUGH THIS.

    We have had to purchase a countertop ice machine just so I can have ice that I use as part of my cancer therapy.

    We had to buy a dedicated freezer because we cannot safely rely on the Samsung.

    I cannot believe that there hadn’t been a class-action lawsuit, or even action by any States Attorney General.

    To recap, I have a unit that is inoperable and deemed “unrepairable” by the service company Samsung contracts to make these repairs. The unit has no functioning freezer, ice machine, or water dispenser. The unit leaks water into the refrigerator compartment.

    Every one of the Lowe’s contacts say the same thing…”I cannot believe they’re handling it this way. They’re supposed to refund your money after the 3rd repair.”

    I have a Samsung rf263beaesr fridge. The fridge consistently leaks water below the produce tray, spilling onto our floor. It also doesn’t keep food at a safe temperature. We set it to 36 degrees, but it is never colder than 48 degrees. We have lost so much food from going bad. But we didn’t truly realize what was going on until I gave birth to my twins. I needed to pump and give my twins pumped milk, however they would only take a little and refuse. I finally tried the milk and realized it was going bad in less than a day. That was when we realized that the temperature was unsafe. To make matter worse one of my twins has repeatedly had stomach issues including bloody diarrhea. We don’t think this caused her initial stomach problems but exasperated it. Right now we have had a tech repeatedly out trying to fix it, but no luck. In between these appointments we have had to completely defrost the fridge, unplugging it and opening it up. So we have no working fridge with twin 7 month olds. If this fridge can’t keep food at a safe temperature it should be recalled.

    Issue: Food safety issues due to RF28HFEDTSR/AA Samsung 3 door fridge not cooling. Ice maker and back wall of fridge is frozen solid.

    I worked with Samsung on the phone to troubleshoot and try to resolve the issues. The result is the fridge does not cool, ice maker is disabled, and back wall is frozen. I can not use the fridge.

    It is not clear how long this has been an issue. I have been having digestive issues for a while. In hindsight, I believe are related to the fact that the Samsung refrigerator was not cooling properly and not reporting the temperature properly. So, I believe that I have been eating unsafe food due to the lack of proper cooling and reporting. Once the refrigerator lack of cooling was noticed and I stopped eating from the fridge, my health issue seems to have subsided.

    Samsung is making lots of excuses and delays telling me they will come fix it, they don’t have a part, don’t know when they will have a part, will come but won’t come today, tomorrow, etc. to resolve the fact the fridge is not cooling. They will not provide product support and also told me that if I go to an outside appliance repair company, any warranty will be invalid. They and they partners that service refrigerators will not visit the house to fix the cooling issue of the fridge, with broken ice maker, and back panel totally frozen solid. It has been about 3-4 weeks trying to get their help.

    The refrigerator should be recalled and replacement costs so that I can have a fridge that is safe to use.

    Samsung refrigerator RF28HDEDESR stopped cooling and was not registering the proper inside temperature. I unplugged the refrigerator, and upon plugging it back in it showed the new temp inside. Food in the refrigerator and freezer had to be thrown away due to thawing. When I called Samsung, they created a ticket and sent a “certified” Samsung repair company to evaluate, but I had to pay out of pocket for the evaluation ($85). The refrigerator was purchased/ delivered on 2/24/2018, and Samsung told me that specific parts would still be covered under the 5-year warranty. The compressor was the issue and would require parts to be ordered. The refrigerator went out on 9/6/23 and was repaired on 9/12/23. No one could give me any time frame as to when the repairs would be completed. Samsung did cover the parts and labor but declined to cover the lost food totaling $414.69, citing out of warranty. This is not the first time we had problems with the refrigerator; the ice maker stopped working after 9 months, and I had to fight with them to repair it because it was still under warranty.

    On August 8th, 2022 I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (model RF29BB86004M) from Costco in starting in April 2023 (less than a year) the ice maker starting having issue creating slushy, unusable ice. Samsung was contacted as the refrigerator was under warranty and since three separate companies contracted by Samsung has come to my house in an attempt to repair. During this process, in July 2023 the refrigerator stopped cooling and it appears the compressor broke. Costco and Samsung were made aware, including that all food spoiled as a result, and to date neither Samsung or Costco has resolved the issue. More than a month has passed where our refrigerator is unusable. Despite hundreds or more consumer complaints about Samsung refrigerators having similar issues, both Costco and Samsung still sold the refrigerator.

    For the past month, my family has been purchasing groceries from [REDACTED] and we have noticed a recurring issue with the quality of the products, particularly regarding the milk. We’ve observed that the milk consistently goes bad within just a few days of purchase. Initially, we attributed this problem to [REDACTED], as the internal temperature of our Samsung refrigerator, as displayed on its LCD screen, was consistently at 34 degrees Fahrenheit. It seemed plausible that [REDACTED] might be selling spoiled milk. Additionally, we found that the cheese we had purchased from [REDACTED] had rapidly developed mold and emitted a foul odor. Consequently, we opted to explore alternative grocery shopping options, believing that there might be a lapse in quality control at [REDACTED].

    Around a week ago, our 16-year-old daughter fell seriously ill. She woke up in the middle of the night, experiencing severe vomiting and diarrhea. As parents, we initially suspected she might have contracted the Norovirus or a similar stomach bug, as we had exclusively consumed food prepared at home and hadn’t eaten from outside food sources. Our daughter’s recovery took approximately five days before she was fit enough to attend school again, having missed her first day of school. It’s noteworthy that while neither parent experienced any illness, the potential highly infectious nature of the Norovirus led us to consider the possibility of food poisoning. It’s important to highlight that our daughter maintains a vegetarian diet, which differs from our own, and she had been consuming distinct food items. During the time of her illness, she had been consuming food from our primary storage area, while we, her parents, were consuming frozen food from the freezer.

    A few days later, the mother had a bowl of cereal and promptly noticed that the milk had also gone sour. This milk had been purchased just three days prior from [REDACTED], a part of the [REDACTED] chain, and the expiration date was still a week away. This discovery prompted us to realize that there was more to this situation than we had initially thought.

    In an attempt to understand the root cause of these issues, we placed a thermometer in the fridge on the middle shelf. Although the fridge’s LCD panel continued to indicate a temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit, the thermometer registered a significantly higher temperature of 54 degrees Fahrenheit. To eliminate the possibility of temperature variations at the front of the fridge, where the doors open, we relocated the thermometer to the back. Throughout the day, the readings consistently ranged between 53 and 54 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite our efforts, utilizing the “power cool” button adjacent to the LCD panel yielded no positive results.

    Our Samsung fridge, which was acquired in late 2015, has been a recurring source of trouble. Over the years, we’ve been compelled to defrost it once or twice annually due to the accumulation of ice around the evaporator coils, causing the fan to emit disruptive noises. Each defrosting cycle produces over a gallon of water from the evaporator coils. This consistent issue has made the fridge a persistent headache, and now we find ourselves with an expensive appliance that is unusable and unsellable. Continuing to use this fridge poses a direct danger to the safety of our family.

    In response to these circumstances, we have been forced to discard all the contents of the fridge and subsequently purchase new groceries, storing them in an icebox. Unfortunately, we are left with no functional refrigerator aside from an older mini fridge situated in our garage.

    I have tried to.get somewhere with Samsung for 5 years at least. We bought what is to us, our dream home in 2016. In 2018 we saved up enough money to buy new appliances. ALL new appliances. We were struck by thr beauty and innovation of Samsung as well as we liked their TVs and Phones.

    4. The refrigerator: several things have been fixed on the fridge. In 2019 (ONE YEAR OLD) had to have the compressor fixed and some other odd things. In 2022, the fan/compressor started to fail and therefore water leaks under and INTO the deli drawer. I’ve had to throw out ruined water logged food. And...a thick layer of ice develops under the deli drawer. Water gets in the deli drawer and I’ve had to throw out water logged food.

    You know what is the saddest thing about all of this? I’m a professional cleaner and I clean my machines habitually. No one has a cleaner fridge or dishwasher, or washer and dryer (my oven needs work).

    We spent almost 6,000 and will have to buy new dishwasher and refrigerator and I KNOW that washer is crippling out any day.

    Please. PLEASE allow a refund for my family. There are THOUSANDS of people with KNOWN issues over and over and are getting the run around. It’s not right.

    UPDATED ON 9/7/2023: [Samsung refrigerator appliances are a KNOWN failure to many consumers. Like a lot of consumers, I too have had to throw out food due to spoilage. When our refrigerator quit we had to throw out food. Often times water leaks into our deli drawer soaking our meat and cheeses and have to be thrown out. I have to keep a careful eye on moisture as well as temperature to ensure one of my four boys who.wouldnt think twice about eating ANYTHING out of the fridge. ]

    Samsung refrigerators (french door models) have an ongoing problem with ice buildup behind the fridge compartment panel, leading to warming temperatures inside the fridge and food spoilage. Consumers don’t know the air is warm because the display panel on the front door continues to display a false, cooler temperature. The door display read 36 degrees F but the inside compartement is actually 56 degrees F. This lead to diarrhea and stomach pains over multiple days before the problem was identified. This has been a systemic, ongoing problem that Samsung is well aware of but continues not to ignore. It’s shocking and a disservice to the community that a recall has not been announced.

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator, model # RF27T5241, back in August of 2022. I kept finding flakes of some sort coming out of the water and settling at the bottom of our cups and glasses. At first I thought that maybe I didn’t flush out the system enough when I first set it up. but no matter how much water I ran through it, the flakes continued to show up. I bought a couple of new water filters for it thinking that maybe it had a bad filter in it. I replaced the filter, and we still had the same problem. I finally called Samsung and reported it to them and they sent someone out to my home. The man they sent out the first time, paid more attention to the girl he was talking to on the phone than he was to the issue. He first said, what I was seeing were bubbles. After I showed him that those so called bubbles were settling at the bottle of the glass, he indicated that the particles I was seeing had to be calcium deposits coming through my water supply. I advised him that this is the 3rd refrigerator I have had in this home, and we never had any such issue with them. I also stated, that the water filter in the refrigerator should have caught the particles. He denied that and said that the filters don’t always catch everything. He asked if I replaced the filter with a Samsung filter, and I advised him that I did. He obviously did not believe me and (without turning off the water supply as the manual indicates), he pulled out the filter, water started flowing out everywhere, and then he slammed the filter back in. So he still insisted it was just calcium coming through and left. I had to replace that new filter because dark water began coming out of the filter. Not to mention that the filter was not placed back on correctly and water was leaking all over the place. I reported all of this to Samsung, and they sent someone else out, who more or less did said the same thing as the first one. Again, I called Samsung because there was no way we were going to drink that water or use the ice from it. When I spoke with someone from Samsung that time, The lady on the phone advised me that if she sent someone out, I would have to pay for it because my 1 year warranty was up in April. I advised her, that I bought the unit in August not April, and if they have it registered to someone else, the unit must have been sold before, taken back to Lowe’s, and resold to me. She then stated that someone else will come to the house and check it out again. So the 3rd person came to the home and guess what? He found that there were some damaged parts inside the water filter system and it wasn’t calcium coming through the line. The next day, I received a call from Samsung, and was told that they were going to send me out a new unit. I asked if I could get a refund instead because I really didn’t trust their product if it has issues this early in the game. The gentleman stated, that the unit will be brand new and last me for years, and not to worry because it will be under a new warranty. So, they sent Lowe’s out with another unit and this one turns out to be worst than the last one. We received this one on 06/10/23, and at first, everything worked fine. But right around the 1st of July (the day before we left for our vacation), we noticed that some of the ice cubes in the bottom tray, were stuck together and it didn’t seem to have made much more ice. I thought by the time we returned from vacation, the tray would be full again. But when we returned, it didn’t make anymore ice. We also noticed that some of the items in the freezer were getting soft. So I called Samsung and reported it to them. They had me unplug the unit, wait several minutes, and then plug it back in. I did that and the temperature inside both the top and the bottom of the refrigerator were lower than they should be. So, I was instructed as to how I could reset the correct temperature on both the top and bottom, then told it could take up to 16 hours before everything was back to normal again. Well, I had to repeat that over and over again on the phone with them until I got fed up with it all. It was apparent, that the compressor was not working correctly. Again, I asked for a refund, but was denied. I asked if they were going to send a new unit, and I was denied that too. Now, we’re are about to July 21st without a refrigerator or freezer working properly, and I was told that they will send somebody out to look at it. On the 24th, a man came out to look at it, and sure enough, the compressor was out. I asked if Samsung was going to send out another since we had food going bad, and he indicated that he was going to order the parts for it. I asked how long does that take, and he stated it takes at least a week, but Samsung is a little slower than most of them. As soon as he left, I called Samsung and advised them of what was going on, and could I please have a refund or an exchange, as this now seems like an emergency. And again, I was denied. They can’t offer an exchange or a refund, until after the unit has been repaired (like they are going to refund or exchange anything after it’s up and running again). I also mentioned (because during calls and waiting times, I did some research, and found that this model is the same as the RF27T5201, except the 5241 model has the dual ice makers, have been on your recall lists since 2020), that the unit has been on a recall list, and it should be handled ASAP. I asked them how soon can I expect to have something going because we need something now. I was then told that as soon as the repairman completes his report, and we receive it, which takes up to 48 hours, then Samsung will make a decision as to what will be done. There isn’t anything else the can do until then. So here we sit in the middle of the summer 100 degree weather without a refrigerator. About a week later, I called the repair shop and asked if the parts came in yet, and I was told that the parts had been received, but the only person qualified to work on it could not get out to my home until the following Thursday (it was on a Friday when I called, so that meant it would be another week). Well, the following Thursday, the repairman came by. All he really did (that I could see), was shoot some Freon into the system. The repairman stated that the unit wasn’t properly filled correctly from the factory. Then I waited about a week before calling Samsung back because one of the people that I first spoken with when I called about these issues, told me to make a list of all the food that gets spoiled because Samsung will give me a food voucher to replace it all. I advised my other half as to what I was told, so she began making a list. Now, we usually only shop once a month because we are on fixed incomes, so at the time this all began, we had already done all of that shopping. The unit was very full both top and bottom. When I spoke with an agent from Samsung about having a list, he asked me to send the list to him, and I did. I figured with all the meats, seafood, and poultry alone would be an easy $250.00. Then most likely another, at least $200.00 with everything else we had in there. The agent offered me $200.00. I told him he must be out of his mind. He said that’s all he can offer because Samsung doesn’t cover this and that and the other (like everything else we had to replace was going to be free). I brought up again that with all we have been through with both of their refrigerators, I would still prefer a refund because even after this one had been fixed, I do not trust Samsung’s refrigerators. Again, he said all he could do was give me $200.00. I was so upset with him, that I told him that was not acceptable, in fact, all he did was insult me and I could not deal with him any further and I hung up the phone. But as to how the refrigerator is working now, well, the temperatures on both the top and bottom (because I purchased my own thermometers), have been going up and down and not keeping a constant temperatures. I think that I better start saving my money to buy a new refrigerator to replace this Samsung unit.

    I have a Samsung refrigerator Model RF28K9380SG/AA serial number 08EH43BM700071R purchased new from Home Depot 4 years ago for over $2000. The refrigerator was building up ice in the icemaker causing no ice to be dispensed and trouble removing the door to the ice maker. I had the repair attempted twice. The first time it was sealed with caulk and parts were replaced due to ice damage but that was not successful. They then replaced a logic board to defrost the ice buildup. Since then the ice maker is dripping water and causing mold buildup on the inside of the unit due to dripping water. We have had another attempt at fixing it with additional sealing around the ice maker but it has not helped. I am concerned about the mold in the ice chute that is not easily seen. This could cause illness if it continues. Samsung should replace this refrigerator. They have not been able to solve the problem after numerous attempts.

    I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator in August 2021 because I have other Samsung appliances in my home. After about a year, my fridge started making a funny noise and I noticed ice building up in the back of the inside of the fridge. I called Samsung for service and they referred me to my local Samsung approved repair center, the only one in my area. That service center was booked for weeks and also had several negative [REDACTED] reviews. The thermostat inside my fridge reads 37 degrees, but when I place my own thermometer inside the temperature is often around 55 degrees. This is unsafe for storing foods and now that I think about it is probably the cause of some of my many gastrointestinal issues within the past year. I searched online and found several other accounts of people with the same issue. I can’t believe these products haven’t been recalled and that Samsung is still selling them with this known issue.

    I purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model RF22KREDBSG in July 2017. I have had two major issues with this refrigerator/freezer combo. First, I have had issues with the ice maker not working - not making ice and freezing up. I have had this repaired on 4 occasions 5/20, 7/20, 11/20 and 11/21. Unfortunately, this is not working again. The other major issue which is causing me to report is that my freezer just stopped working. Currently it is at 70 degrees. That is also causing the cooling drawer above it not to keep food cold and we’ve had to throw out food from both the cooling drawer and the freezer as a result. We had an authorized Samsung repair person come to tell us what is wrong and are told the compressor, and parts related to the sealed system had failed including Temp sensor, fuse, evap cover. The estimate given was $700-800 to fix. Even the repair person didn’t recommend fixing due to cost and stated that the refrigerator part can also still go out. We have used this refrigerator only as typical residential use with two members in our household. I find it hard to believe that this product is this defective and still on the market.

    My Samsung french door refrigerator stopped cooling below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. It slowly over a couple weeks got down to 51, but that’s the lowest I’ve gotten it to go. The refrigerator is our family fridge and has had multiple issues. When the ice maker broke very early into owning the refrigerator, we called for service and were told it wasn’t even worth paying to fix it, and should consider replacing the whole fridge. Then the door water dispenser got stuck and shot water out onto our hardwood floors until we could get the valve shut off in the back. We completely stopped using the ice maker and water dispenser for the last few years. And the latest issue is the fridge has stopped cooling enough to keep food safe.

With over 90,000 people joining a [REDACTED] group because of these issues, and with multiple tv reports on [REDACTED] etc., about these issues, including some class action lawsuit, why is there not a recall on these refrigerators?

    I bought a Samsung refrigerator (Model Number: RF28R7551SR/AA, SN: 0BG643BN601685J) in August 2020. The fridge fan started to make noise, the temperature in fridge was not accurate and food spoiled very soon since March 2023. Samsung’s service provider, [REDACTED], came to investigate it on 7/24/2023 and officially documented the unit is not repairable due to design flaw or poor manufacturing. I was charged $155 for the investigation, although no repair was done. The refrigerator is defective and not repairable. I have to get rid of it and buy a new one. Although the 1 year manufacturer warranty has expired, I should be compensated partially. The warranty does not rule out the implied liability of reparability. I have contacted Samsung Care, tier2 management, and CEO office, they refused any compensation for my huge loss ($3000 fridge for only 3 years usage). I saw many reports of the similar issues. We hope CPSC will investigate this matter. Thanks!

    We bought a Samsung French Door with freezer on the bottom in 2/2021. Recently we noticed our milk kept spoiling several days before the expiration date. We thought it may have been the milk producer so we changed brands, it continued. Also our lunch meat, lettuce, other fruits and veggies were spoiling quickly. We turned the temp down as far as possible but the food was still spoiling. We ordered a couple old fashioned refrigerators thermometers, we put 1 in the bottom of it and the top shelf. It averages 45-50 degrees all day every day. I contacted Samsung, they issued a repair ticket and send us the info of their service contractor. The service contractor refused to even look at the unit because it was over a year old. I hired a repair service, he came and took it apart, checking the whole thing out, he said everything was working but not only was the fridge running warm so was the freezer. He said it was a sealed system issue which is covered by Samsungs warranty parts and labor for 5 yrs from purchase. He couldn’t touch the sealed system or it would’ve voided my warranty. I called Samsung again, told them the issue, first he refused to do anything but I sent him the text messages from his contractor refusing service and the diagnosis from my contractor that I paid $95 for. He asked me to text him the invoice & diagnosis which I did while we were talking, he agreed to pay for the service call, the repairs of the sealed system issue and my spoiled food. I noticed I got another Samsung service ticket sent to [REDACTED], the same contractor that refused to look at it again. The next day I called [REDACTED] to explain it is under warranty, the Sealed System has 5 yrs parts and labor. She refused again, said they do nothing with any unit over a year old and transferred me to Samsung. I had to start over again with Samsung, they tried to call [REDACTED] to verify they refused but [REDACTED] quit answering the phone. I was then told they were emailing [REDACTED] and they could look for another contractor to fix it after [REDACTED] replied to the email. I said “What if [REDACTED] doesn’t answer you, then what?” She had no answer to that, [REDACTED], was the name of the female I was speaking to this time. Now there is nothing they can do because the contractor isn’t answering them. I don’t know where to go from here. My repair company won’t touch it because he said Samsung is junk and he’ll be getting service calls for the next 5 yrs for it. Samsung refuses to do anything, they just keep stalling, every step of there’s will be done in 24-48 hrs but then we start all over again. No one will work on this refrigerator because Samsungs refrigerator reputation is know throughout the appliance repair industry. I can’t afford to just go buy a new one and junk this one. I don’t know where to go from here. The temperature is unsafe for the food to be consumed, I have our milk and creamer on ice. There are several class action lawsuits against Samsung for this exact issue, they know it’s an issue but refuse to do anything about it.

    My Samsung Refrigerator, model RS25J500DSR has continually had issues holding the temperature and moving cold air appropriately. Within the year of owning the machine, and I bought it new, it was unable to keep the freezer goods cold enough to freeze consistently and the the bottom of the refrigerator regularly (but not predictably) freezes all the food in the bottom 2 drawers, including my produce. I have lost so much food due to freezing or spoiling and we have gotten food poisoning from eating foods that froze, defrosted, refroze, etc. The fridge constantly smells bad from spoiling food, so keeping produce and open packages in it is a no go and we are down to using 2 shelves of fridge space and 1 shelf of freezer space to prevent losing food. We had to buy a mini fridge to keep our dairy products and help store any frozen products that must maintain temperature, as the temperature does not regulate properly at all. All dairy products spoil in the fridge within a week. The top of the refrigerator and freezer do not cool at all and cannot be used to keep anything cold. Another issue (most likely related) is that the ice build up on the back wall of the freezer and bottom of the freezer is significant and builds before the rest of the freezer gets cold enough to use. When its been defrosted and cleaned and turned back on, if refreezes in those 2 locations before freezing the food and the refrigerator and freezer are not cold enough to keep food until that process has started. Also, the ice maker and water dispenser broke within the first year of buying the refrigerator.

    The product, in the report: My Samsung Refrigerator is not keeping safe, consistent temperatures. While the screen on the outside of the unit shows a inside temperature of 34 degrees, a manual thermometer shows that it varies from 40 to 45 degrees. At this temperature, milk spoils and other food goes to waste as well. The temperature inside is so high that the ice in the icemaker tray clumps together and you cannot get ice out. Ice, as it melts lets water drip into catch tray under vegetable crispers drawers and also under the pull out door between the fridge and freezer sections. Eventually this water leaks onto the floor.

    Not long after we purchased the refrigerator, the ice maker jammed up and is frozen closed. Repeatively had issues. The ice maker is leaking water into the refrigerator under then bottom drawer where it puddles and/or freezes. We have had buzzing noises coming from the refrigerator that would stop when we opened it but would start as soon as it was closed. Told to reset and problem was fixed. It was fixed for a few months and then had to be done again. Now and the final straw was the fridge part not staying cold. It is reaching temps of 61 degrees and has not been below 34 in two weeks. All of our food is spoiled and we are unable to have food for our children at home- including milk that was clattered and chunky when we returned from vacation. Samsung kept telling me to set it on this temp and give it 6-8 hours to set. I have talked to 3 techs who have told me to do this. It does not drop below 54 degrees.

    I have a Samsung Fridge (Model#RF265BEAESG/AA and Serial# 0ATU4BBM400515R ) that has failed to cool by not properly defrosting the motor that gets frozen and the temps are displayed incorrectly. When I place a separate thermometer in the fridge, temps read over 50 degrees while the fridge still shows it is at 38 degrees. My family of three have been eating spoiled food without knowing it. Samsung has refused to fix the issue as they state it is out of warranty, but the fridge is less than 4 years old and should be covered under the 5 year parts and labor on sealed refrigeration system only (which includes the evaporator and drier). Samsung has refused to reimburse for food reimbursement as well as covering the parts that should be replaced for a faulty unit.

    After purchase of refrigerator in 2019 we have never been able to have ice from ice maker as should be expected. beginning in 2023 the refrigerator stopped staying cold enough to keep food from spoiling and has accumulated water in produce drawer and meat drawer causing meat blood to be exposed to other foods in refrigerator and cheese to mold. The food that went bad has exposed other foods to also be harmful to eat. lots of food has had to be thrown out due to possible CONTAMINATION AND hazard to health. We have attempted trouble shooting and have called Samsung support for error code definitions. I was told by [REDACTED] that she is not authorized to give out error codes list and we would have to have a technician come out to do a diagnostics to determine if the problem is covered under a 5 year warranty or not and that the diagnostics service fee to determine that would be a minimum of $160.00 and have to be charged on a credit card before a service appointment to perform the diagnostic could be performed. Even if the problem is caused by a faulty part covered under warranty the diagnostic would not be refunded.

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator with French doors less than 5 years ago and within a year, water started pooling in the produce section leading to products spoiling in there. Then it would undergo cycles of freezing and thawing . Additionally the bottom door for the freezer doesn’t close well and that leads to ice melting and water leaking out of the fridge onto the floor. The rubbers they use for the bottom doors for the freezer section aren’t high quality and do not keep the freezer section well insulated even when I shut it extra tight. The temperature regulation isn’t there in this model fridge.

    The consumer has had the ice maker serviced 3 different times. It has failed again and she had another technician come out today (6/28/2023).

    The ice maker stops making ice. When it does make ice, water drips out of the area where the ice is dispensed, and onto the floor.

    The consumer has to constantly keep a towel in front of the refrigerator or continuously wipe water up. It has not caused damage to the flooring.

    1. The first time it happened, the technician replaced a part of the ice maker and it addressed the problem. 2. The next 2 times, the entire ice maker malfunctioned, it was replaced both times. 3. The consumer is not sure how the company will handle this 4th ice maker incident.

    • Each time the ice maker is repaired/replaced, it works for approximately 1 year and the problem returns.

    The consumer has a home warranty policy and had to pay the warranty company’s deductible.

    The consumer called the manufacturer on 1 occasion and reported the problem to them. However, she was told that the refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do.

    Some could slip and fall as a result of this issue or it could present an electrical safety problem.

    We bought a Samsung RF263BEAESR about 4 years ago and within the first year we had to call in a repairman because the freezer was making a loud noise and not freezing. The repairman fixed it ut 6 months later it happened again. I have to thaw the freezer everytime it happens because there is massive ice built up on the back part of the freezer. Last night it happened again but this time we had to throw out all the food because we didn’t know it wasn’t working. I am so frustrated by this and having to constantly having to throw out food because I never know when It will break again. It takes over a day to thaw and in that time I have to find somewhere else to store my food to keep it cold. This has happened every 6 months or so since we bought the item in 2019

    I have a Samsung Refrigerator which inconsistently keeps food and my medication cold. Water leaks into the crisper which I have cleaned on multiple occasions. The ice maker freezes up and was adjusted under warranty or a class action suit from their website. The problem has returned and the ice is getting frosted again. I called Samsung and she connected me through their internet to see the frost developing again in the ice maker.     Our Samsung 4-door Flex Refrigerator/Freezer stopped operating properly after 4 years and 9 months of use. We bought the refrigerator prior to our kitchen remodel which lasted from April 2018 until September 2018. While the remodel was ongoing we began reading horror stories about the ice-maker so we never hooked it up and to this day (well yesterday) filled ice-trays for our own ice. We immediately made room in our spare freezer for all perishable items. Next, we made room in our spare refrigerator for all perishable items. The only thing in our Samsung now are produce items that will not be harmed. We have placed a temperature gauge in the Samsung refrigerator. The gauge currently reads 45 degrees while the Samsung read-out claims that the inside is 34 degrees. After we first noticed the freezer not operating properly, we immediately went online for information and quickly discovered that we are not alone. That saved us from a potential food-borne illness because we acted quickly. My husband and I are the only people using the unit. The unit is installed in our residential kitchen and has been well maintained. We have not been injured due to quick action on our part. We contacted Samsung and they gave us the name of a local repairman. After reading their very good reviews we have learned that they do not do warranty work. After further investigation/discovery we have learned of a [REDACTED] group who is leading the charge for compensation for owner of Samsung refrigerators like us. After reading their horror stories, we do not plan to pursue a technical fix for this unit because it would be a waste of time and money.

    Repeated leaking of water onto the floor of my Samsung RF28HDEDBSR/AA refrigerator. Freezing of evaporator coil. Water freezes, impairing use of bottom drawer. Water also leaks into that drawer, spoiling food in it. This has happened multiple times over the life of the refrigerator. Most recent cleaning of frozen ice beneath tray was 6/18/23. Ice sheet over 1 centimeter thick covered entire bottom of fridge compartment. Ice maker had to be repaired early 2023 after years of freezing led to complete breakdown in 2022. French doors have never aligned.

    Samsung refrigerator Model RF28HFEDTSR/AA. Bottom Freezer French door refrigerator. Refrigerator will start to make a buzzing noise, then it will stop, then the temp in the refrigerator will slowly rise. Unless it is unplugged for 24 hours, it will repeat this process. Dangerous, because the increase in temp is gradual. The panel on the front will indicate the temp is 35 degrees, but the inside temp will rise to 45-55. I am afraid to feed my family.
