    The product, in the report: Samsung refrigerator, model RF22K9381SR. It is a side-by-side refrigerator and freezer. There are four doors. The top two are for the fridge. The top right door has a door within it that allows a person to access things inside the door, w/o having to open the whole fridge door, ostensibly to save on electricity. The bottom two doors open to refrigerator or freezer spaces, depending on how you configure them for use.

    I am writing to report that the Samsung refrigerator, model RF22K9381SR, as faulty and dangerous.

    What happened? In the Spring of 2023, the freezer began to be unreliable. The freezer and refrigerator completely stopped being cold in late June of 2023. We lost all food that was in the fridge. Samsung -- in spite of the hardware having a 10-year warranty and the parts being covered -- made my husband pay them $550 for repair. It took Samsung 3 weeks and repeated visits to fix it. While the repairman was fixing it, he told us another part was recalled and did not replace that recalled part, b/c it wasn’t broken at the time. We never got our money back, though Samsung told us we should. In November of 2023, the freezer became unreliable again. My husband worked with support on attempts to re-set temps and configurations for weeks. Then, they demanded we defrost the whole thing, in spit of the fact we’d just had this forced on us six months ago. We emptied the fridge, defrosted, shut down -- per their request. After power on, none of the issues resolved. As of last night, January 23. we discovered the refrigerator has not been keeping our food cool. We both got sick from the milk products we consumed. We had to throw away the fish and chicken we planned for dinner this week and had thawed. WE had to throw out all the food in the fridge again. The freezer hasn’t worked since November. We are still negotiating with support.

    Prior to 1/18/24 when my Samsung refrigerator/freezer (purchased 4/3/23 & set up/delivered by Lowes) 3 Door French, model #RF22A4221SR/AA, SN 0BA34BBW301714Wfailed totally, but I didnt know it because digital readings still read 34 degrees F/-2 degrees F, I was experiencing gi upset and diarrhea. I didnt know what it was, my doctor thought I was getting a re-occurring virus. I happened to notice the taste of the mayonnaise was off, so I bought a refrigerator thermometer. It indicated that the refrigerator temperature was 45 degrees, this was October 2023. So I reset the temps on the refrigerator. It seemed to be working. But November 2023 temps were up again. Reset again, thought maybe not enough clearance around fridge, moved across the kitchen. No difference in refrigeration performance. Unplugged fridge, reset temps, seemed to be working. Total unit failure 1/18/24, I went to get frozen bagels from freezer, they were thawed. Freezer display read -4 degrees, I checked fridge thermometer 45 again! I tried texting Samsung chat support and they disconnected on me 11 times over a 3 day period (1/18/24) Went online to Samsung.com, scheduled a repair ticket myself for 1/26/24, they cancelled that and rescheduled for 1/30/24 (they said I cancelled the appt). I wrote a bad review for Lowes & Samsung, Lowes conference called Samsung and was told theres parts on order (sight unseen) & will be addressed on 1/30/24 by technician. This is unacceptable for a refrigerator/freezer which temperatures are too warm to keep food safe, causing illness and doesnt display proper temperatures.

    Defective Samsung Kitchen Appliances-Most current issue is the Refrigerator Model RS25J500DSR which started freezing. It has been serviced twice by a Samsung referred technician and a fan was replaced. Still the freezing issue persist with no resolution. All of our Samsung kitchen appliances have had to be replaced over the last few years. They were all purchased in late 2017/early 2018 or after. Our dishwasher was defective immediately and replaced within months of purchase. We were told by Samsung that the over the range microwave was just out of warranty when it needed to be repaired. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired. The second microwave door handle broke shortly after it was just outside its warranty as well. Concerning defects with all Samsung kitchen appliances we have had with the refrigerator being the most concerning.

    Samsung refrigerator icemaker stopped working one year after purchase. Water leaks from the icemaker out of the dispenser onto the floor of the home and inside the refrigerator as well spoiling the food nearby.

    UPDATED ON 1/24/2024: PUnbeknownst to me, until reading about issues regarding this refractor online, my Samsung fridge is unable to reach a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The FDA recommends the temp be at or below 40. I have no idea how long this has been occurring for as I’ve never measured the temperature inside my refrigerator until today after having it for seven years. The temperature is set to 35 degrees and the temperature was 41. This was after keeping the doors closed overnight and not opening the fridge for 10 hours. I believe this causes a serious risk to food borne illnesses.]

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (RF28HDEDBSR) in 5/2015. These units have known manufactured defects with existing lawsuits. The icemaker freezes over. The temps on the outside display do not work properly and consequently food has spoiled. The unit has also frozen the contents within the refrigerator. It leaks water into my kitchen floor as well as leaks water into the pull out deli drawer and under the drawer over the freezer. After a Samsung technician replaced my icemaker and did the repairs that were called for in their service manual related to the icemaker, the other issues persist.

    I have a Samsung refrigerator and have problems from the ice maker not working properly which they have been out and replaced and more recently which happened around Christmas 12/25/23 my refrigerator model # RF 28N9780SR/AA which was purchased by Sears in March 2019. The refrigerator was not cooling sufficiently my flexzone freezer section started defrosting first on both sides (completely, meat started thawing out) I called Samsung @ (800) SAM-SUNG) and went thru a diagnosis with them which readings were not accurate and when I used a thermometer the reading were showing the inside temperature was 65 degrees even though I had set the refrigerator at 32 degrees and set the freezer at power freeze. Still the meat completely thawed and ice thawed completely. my daughter who suffers from ESRD and keeps her medicine which was just purchased around this time was no good, my daughter started running off from eating tainted food and/or using tainted medicine , my husband has been having stomach problems and was seen at Urgent Care which I believe it was from the bacteria from eating food that was not properly stored at correct temperatures. I myself have also been having stomach issues from possible tainted food. I have been calling every day and Samsung claims the refrigerator is out of warranty which this refrigerator has a 10 year warranty on the compressor and instead of offering to send a repair center out to confirm what is going on they instead said they can offer 50% off of purchasing another refrigerator from them knowing there refrigerators are having know issues. When I tried to get them to send a tech out they wanted to discourage me saying there will be an upfront service charge and it only covers the parts and not labor. they do not see anything about a possible recall on these family hub refrigerators. the rep I spoke only offered a 50%? coupon to purchase another refrigerator and the code was supposed to last 3/2/2024. However when I tried using the code it says it is invalid and I have records along with ref #’s on who i spoke to and keep telling me they will respond within 23 to 48 hrs which I still have not heard anyone concerning these issues. what is sad is that I have currently within 6 months spent almost $6000 buying a bespoke washer and dryer, and bespoke flex zone single oven. I also had a service call on my dryer which is well within the manufacturer warranty, and they have not repaired my dryer. My daughter ended up getting a stomach infection from eating food that was stored in this refrigerator and paid over $200 for her insulin which ended up spoiling since the temperature that was displayed was not accurate . When you call Samsung they do not allow you to speak to Escalations. I have spoken to well over 5 or 6 representatives that keep saying the same thing that they will send you a new code in 24 to 48 hours. It has been since Xmas and still have not refrigerator to use to store our food in. I have explained to them this is extreme emergency since my dtrs and husband both have diabetes and need to store their medicine at a certain temperature and Samsung refuses to do any thing about it. I have also written to [REDACTED] and they have not replied.

    The story of the exploding fridge . . .

    My Samsung fridge is about 18 months old. I took out the shelves and set them in the sink the empty sink. The SECOND the shelf touched the sink, it EXPLODED.

    I don’t mean that it cracked or shattered. I mean it EXPLODED. Thank goodness I was wearing my glasses or I would probably be blind right now. The tiny bits of glass got all over me, my clothes, my hair, and my kitchen. So, I had to clean up the kitchen. Then, I had to strip off my clothes because I didn’t want to shed bits of glass throughout the house and go STRAIGHT to the shower to get the glass out of my hair.

    Honestly, this is INSANE!!! Below here you can see the sides of the shelf and most of the glass that I swept off the floor. (Please disregard the dog hair).

    After I looked it up on [REDACTED] , it seems that this is a pretty common problem, so please be careful put there!

    Samsung Refrigerator RF26HFENDSR, purchased 2016, has had and continues to have multiple problems. Initially had sealed system issue which was not confirmed. Continue to have the evaporator freeze up which causes water to accumulate in bottom of refrigerator which eventually leads to the evaporator freezing up. Major contributing factor to the evaporator freezing up is that the temperature set on the control panel is off by 5 to 10 degrees. Also the defrost heater does not completely defrost the evaporator. This eventually causes the air ports to freeze over because the evaporator freezes solid. Have been on the phone with Samsung several times without success. Biggest issue is that the refrigerator does not cool properly. Continue to lose food and prescriptions due to reduced cooling. Need to defrost the fridge on a regular basis in order for it to work for several months. Have to set the control panel to a lower setting in order to keep items at a safe temperature to prevent spoilage which eventually causes the evaporator coil to freeze up due to insufficient defrost cycle. Have paid service to come out only to tell me that it would cost over $800 to fix.....I am seeking a refund for both the refrigerator and the most recent service call which was at the end of November.

    We were cleaning what is supposed to be a tempered glass shelf in our fridge - it sits above our produce drawers - and upon touching the water the glass shattered into a million little pieces. The glass went all over our kitchen, scratched my foot, thankfully did not reach my child who was sitting at our breakfast bar, rather it just landed underneath her chair. The glass should be tempered glass to avoid such issues - and it is clear this was not the case. The company hasn’t been responsive despite many attempts to just get them to replace our shelf so we can have a complete refrigerator. I would hate for this issue to actually hurt someone more permanently, as little pieces of glass can get into eyes or really cut someone up. It is not safe and their response has been completely inappropriate. With one employee actually going out of their way to taunt me rudely via text about my concerns in their lack of understanding.we have tried for about 1.5 years to get rectified without any resolution. Samsung just didn’t care.

    My Samsung refrigerator suffers from the same problem as reported by others who own a Samsung French Door refrigerator. Ice accumulates in the rear panel of the refrigerator around the circulation fan, eventually causing it to stop working. The thermostat reading on the door of the refrigerator gave erroneous temperature of 38 deg when the inside temperature was closer to 50 deg. Also, the ice maker freezes up around the unit and stops working. Twice now over the past six months, service technicians tried to fix the problem replacing thermostat and defroster in rear panel. Once again, I can hear the circulating fan making noise again, indicating ice is building up.

    On December 12, 2018, my husband and I purchased through Lowe’s a Samsung refrigerator (Samsung 24.52-cu ft Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Ice Maker (Stainless Steel); Model #RS25J500DSR), along with a stovetop/oven, microwave/convection oven, washer, and dryer—all Samsung—for our remodel. In total, we spent nearly $5,000 to have all matching appliances.

    After not even five years of use, our refrigerator started having problems. First, in the spring of 2023, the ice maker completely quit working. No ice was being produced at all. Then, on or about August 28, 2023, the controls on the front of the refrigerator suddenly began flashing, signaling an error code and failed to respond to touch. I contacted Samsung via online messaging on or about August 30, 2023. The service representative requested information from me regarding the problem and even collected a video from me showing the control panel flashing lights. He instructed me to perform a hard reset of the unit, which I did with no resulting change. The representative then advised that they would open a ticket and request service from a local repair technician. In the meantime, we continued to attempt several times to perform a reset on the unit, following the steps suggested by Samsung. We also ensured that the coils and filters were clean and free of debris. At that time, the refrigerator and freezer began having issues cooling adequately and holding a consistent temperature. We have verified that the unit is not cooling to an optimal temperature through the use of standalone thermometers. Obviously, this is very unsafe, and we have lost hundreds of dollars of groceries because of this. Thankfully, no one has gotten ill (yet). To this day, all issues with the ice maker, control buttons, and refrigerator temperature persist and Samsung refuses to help with repairs or acknowledge their defective product.

    We have a less than 2 year old Samsung French Door Refrigerator (RF28R6221SR). The ice maker quit making ice. It is now leaking water into the maker and the base of the upper fridge. Put a thermometer in the fridge to check the temperature and the fridge said it was 37 degrees, but the thermomters (yes,2) stated 43 degrees. Our milk has been spoiling before the date so we put two thermometers in different spots to verify. Now, the freezer is starting to frost up and it is supposed to be a frost free unit. There are numerous complaints about Samsung refrigerators for over 10 years now with no recall. People are reporting the hassels in trying to get Samsung to honor the warranty. I called them several times and keep getting told that I have to pay for service and labor to get it fixed. Where is the recall? People are getting food poisoning from the inadequate temperatures. The lack of ice is a nuisance, but the lack of cold temperatures is dangerous!!

Apparently this can happen again and the only way to fix it is to pull the plug of the fridge and reset it. Does not sound like a good fix for this issue. Had to throw away a lot of food that melted in the freezer. Seems like this is a common issue with samsung fridges.

    Our Samsung flex door fridge, model # RF28k9380 SR/AA suddenly and abruptly stopped working. Both the fridge compartment and bottom freezer compartments stopped cooling. Per Samsung’s own designated service repair company, the issue was diagnosed to be a sealed system failure. The coolant/ refrigerant apparently has leaked out of the system. The technician was not able to pinpoint where the leakage occurred. The amount of refrigerant we may have ingested or/ and inhaled, the time frame and duration of exposure are all unknown at this point. The MSD for one of the more common refrigerant used in current home refrigerators clearly states inhalation of the “vapor may produce anesthetic effects, and feeling of euphoria. Prolonged overexposure can cause rapid breathing, headache, dizziness, narcosis, unconsciousness, and death from asphyxiation, depending on concentration and time of exposure”.

    As stated, the time of exposure , amount we were exposed and the format or route of exposure all are unknown at this point. So the default answer auto populated for step 3 is inappropriate. It should be left blank and that is how I submitted my answer.

    My samsung refrigerator (RF28M9580SG) has stopped freezing and the flex zone is starting to not work. I contacted the manufacturer November 12, 2023 and they opened a ticket [REDACTED] advised they could send a service tech but it would be a $200 Cost. The appointment was then cancelled by the servicer. I got a text November 13, 2023 cancelling the ticket. I contacted Samsung again following a service visit with [REDACTED] November 16,2023 and provided them a copy of the estimate. Samsung advised they would not assist in resolving the issue. This refrigerator is only 6 years old and was $3,500. Samsung was unwilling to assist at all. The refrigerator is leaking freon due to a puncture in one of the evaporator coils. The technician confirmed there is no physical damage to the unit and this likely was and issue at time of production that went unnoticed until it has now failed. This item is less than 1 year outside of warranty and the expected life span is 10-15 years. 6 years is far under this. Also, this means the unit has not been maintaining consistent temperatures which caused food to spoil more quickly and bacteria to grow more quickly. The freezer sensor also was not being correctly detected and reading the wrong temperature.

It is set to 37degrees but the actual temperature is routinely in the mid 40s which is above the recommended temperature of foodsafety.gov. There is a systemic problem with this particular model Samsung refrigerator’s functionality and their ability to perform the basic function of keeping food at the proper temperature.     I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2015. I have had the unit repaired 3 times (now in need for the 4th) for the same exact issues starting 18 months after purchase. The ice maker freezes up and the cooling system doesn’t work. Food is spoiling and not being kept at the correct temperature. Mold is forming in the ice tray again because of water dripping. The last time this happened, I found horrible mold and broken plastic pieces from the ice machine in the tray melted into the ice cubes. I’ve called Samsung and they are telling me that since there is no recall, even though there is a class action lawsuit for my model, that there is nothing that they can do for me. This is a safety concern and someone is going to end up really sick or dead because of their lack of care. My model number is RF32FMQDB. There was a service bulletin issued for this issue on 5.24.17. The initial repair was done in June 2017, 18 months after purchase. I want my money back. I’ve tolerated this issue long enough, trying to make the best of what we had but I’m done after the fourth repair for the same thing. They need to be held accountable for their lemon product. It is absolutely ridiculous that a company be allowed to operate like this.

    The ice maker makes ice and stops, then makes ice and stops. The ice maker also leaks water everywhere inside the refrigerator. When the consumer opens the refrigerator door, water spills out onto the floor. This presents a fall hazard.

    The consumer has contacted the manufacturer numerous times over the years for all these problems.

    Technicians were sent out during the first year they owned it. The consumer said that the technician glued some parts together and it worked temporarily, but the problems returned and have not been resolved.

    In July 2022 I bought an unnamed fridge (RS27T5200SG/AA) one side is a freezer the other a fridge with ice and water in the door. Beginning of October 2023 the water froze up, the ice melted and froze down the inside of the fridge, the top of the fridge and freezer had thawed and the bottom of the unit froze. By the time I noticed the butter was soft and milk luke warm. It took 6 days to get an unnamed repair person. The repair person stated that the fan in the back was not receiving enough voltage to open the damper and they had a “bulletin” about this being a problem. I asked because there was a “bulletin” out for this unit if I had to pay. And of course I did.

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator model rf263beae on 6/30/2018 from Best Buy. The refrigerator ice maker stop working 2 years later and on 11/5/2023 the refrigerator stop cooling. I had to throw almost everything in the refrigerator away. I have several teenagers in my home that could have eaten or drunk something spoiled or not properly chilled. I chatted with Samsung customer service and tried to get the refrigerator to work. But it did not help, and the cost for a repair technician is pricey and make not work, as I research, this is a common issue with little success of fixing.

    Bought a Samsung french door refrigerator from Costco.com in June of 2018, model #RF24FSEDBSR/AA. Two years later I was notified that a replacement of the ice maker would be done at no cost. That was done. As soon as my extended warranty was up, the ice maker began to malfunction. The first sign was water coming out of the door dispenser. Opened the refrigerator and could not get the door on the ice maker to open. Frozen shut. Put the freezer section into a manual defrost until we could open the door. Inside was a huge block of ice and a lot of frost everywhere. Ran two more defrost cycles. Reset the ice maker and went on with our lives. Within a week, the same thing happened again. Went online for help with this and discovered that I had been sold a refrigerator in 2018 that was already involved in a class action lawsuit for this exact issue. Realized these refrigerators might also have an issue with maintaining appropriate temperatures so I bought two refrigerator thermometers and was astonished. Setting the fridge at 36, the thermometer read 40. I left the thermometers in and have observed widely different temperatures, both below and above what the fridge is set at. This morning at [REDACTED] the temp in the fridge is 39 although set at 36, having been closed up all night, but the freezer is set at 0 and is registering 17! I am getting nowhere with either Costco nor Samsung and I know I have been sold a refrigerator with more than one design defect in the ice maker but I have always trusted the refrigerator to keep an appropriate temperature and now I am worried we have been repeatedly exposed to food that has been stored at unsafe temperatures.

    I bought a Samsung refrigerator about 5 years ago. Two years ago, the ice maker stopped working. Then, a year ago, I noticed considerable leaking from the back panel -- which still occurs. Every six weeks or so, I need to remove all items from the fridge, then remove the middle shelves to access the back panel, and then clear the drainage.

    Now, just in the past couple weeks, I’ve noticed the fridge no longer maintains a constant temperature. I bought my own thermometer to confirm, and the fridge generally runs about 2-3 degrees warmer than indicated. Occasionally, it cools down to the indicated temperature, but with a day (or even several hours) the temperature will rise again.

    The consumer indicates that the cooler on the back of his refrigerator would freeze up and stop working. The consumer has had to turn off his unit for twenty-four hours several times and, after this, instead of maintaining a 37-degree temperature it keeps it at 50. The consumer had the rubber gasket replaced however this did not fix the issue.

    The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to informed him that his unit is out of warranty so they would pay for the parts and he would pay for the labor. A service technician inspected the refrigerator and informed the consumer the fan on the back of the unit needs to be replaced. The consumer is waiting for the part.

    The consumer plans on keeping his refrigerator for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

    Our refrigerator appears to have some design flaws. First, the unit leaks water inside on the freezer side that freezes in the bottom of the freezer. Every few months I have to take out the shelving and break up the ice. Second, the fridge temperature seems to fluctuate. There are external controls to set the temperature and we keep it set at 38-40 degrees, however when we take food out of the fridge it seems warm to touch. So upon putting a thermometer in the fridge we found temperatures in the range of 45-50 degrees. This spoiled the food and put our health at risk. We wonder if the several bouts of gastrointestinal problems we had were related to the improper storage of our food. Troubleshooting steps in the manual did not help. Samsung would not resolve the problem because they said we are out of warranty. They offered to send a third party technician, but would not pay for it, and we would not either. The refrigerator was about 5 years old when we decided to replace it.

    I own a Samsung French door refrigerator model RF263BEAESG\AA. At the end of December 2022, the ice maker in the fridge portion of the appliance was completely iced up and was not producing ice. It could not even be pulled out. When the ice maker freezes up, it also causes ice to build up behind the twin cooling plus unit where the evaporator coils are that then control overall cooling to the fridge. As a result, the fridge stops cooling and food can be held inside at unsafe temperatures. Water also pools under the crisper drawers that can cause mold due to lack of evaporation. I had to remove all food to turn off power to the fridge and let the fridge completely defrost with the doors open. At the beginning of January, the ice maker was fixed per Samsung but the tech told me the issues with freezing behind the twin plus cooling unit would continue. In September 2023, I noticed my drinks were not as cold as they should be. Ice had once again completely built up behind the panel. On October 12, 2023, I removed all perishable food and set in a cooler. I then turned the power off to the fridge to let the ice defrost completely. On October 13, the ice had defrosted, but I also noticed mold had developed from the lack of cooling between the glass and panel for the water filter. I cleaned it out, and restarted power to the fridge. While the fridge is successfully cooling to date, the fact that it will continue to build up ice, prevent cooling, and create mold or other unstable environments for food is unsatisfactory.

    I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator late 2017. Delivery took longer than expected as the first two deliveries contained damaged products that had to be sent back. From the start the ice maker never worked properly, constantly freezing over. The freezer would also freezer over on a consistent basis. Temperatures inside the refrigerator fluctuated greatly day to day, without much general consistency. Almost exactly 6 years from the purchase, the entire unit failed. As a sealed system leak and needs a new condenser, two new evaporators, and a new compressor. Samsung has offered no resolution other than to repair the faulty ice maker. This refrigerator has been a nightmare from the start. The worst $2,500 I have ever spent as it has cost me countless amounts of money and spoiled food and now it is just an ornament.

    My Samsung refrigerator fails to maintain a consistent temperature and the ice maker has failed repeatedly. Samsung has replaced the ice maker twice and it has stopped working again. I haven’t called for another replacement because they simply replace the failed ice maker with the same product, and the repairman has to come from a city 150 miles away.

    Samsung RF28HMEDBSR/AA Refrigerator - purchased new about 5 years ago. It has inconsistent, unsafe temperatures in the freezer and fridge.

    I’ve noticed high temps occasionally over the years, but in the past few months, I’ve noticed exceptionally high disparities. The freezer is set to 0F and the fridge at 34F. The display always shows this is the temperature, but the actual is often much higher. Most often the fridge is at 40F, and the freezer at 10F. However, at least a few times a week, the freezer will be in the mid 30Fs and the fridge in the mid 50F. I take these measurements after the doors have been closed for at least an hour, such as first thing in the morning.

    The ice maker also freezes over frequently and drips water under it and out of the dispenser. Ice has to be chipped out of the dispenser to clear it.

    It has a ‘power cool’ feature - when this is manually enabled, it does cool down to below the set temperatures (the fridge will get into the 20Fs). This can only be enabled for a short period of time before it turns off automatically. Usually after this, the fridge stays at a reasonable temperature for a few days. My family has not gotten sick from this yet, that we are aware of, but we have had a lot of food that has spoiled sooner than it should have.

    Samsung Refrigerator Model RF31FMESBSR purchased in April 2015 has multiple defects causing food to spoil due to high temperatures and mold. The ice maker freezes up and stops working. The fan coil on the back of the refrigerator freezes up and causes the fan to stop working, which in turn reduces circulation of cold air and the internal temperature of the refrigerator is NOT what it says on the front display. At times, this frozen build up will melt, causing water in the drawers and shelves, which leads to mold. These issues lead to spoiled food, moldy food, and food poisoning. This, I have seen, is a common design/manufacturing defect which should be recalled, and samsung should replace or refund.

    I am writing to file a complaint against Samsung concerning a refrigerator (Model No: RF28R7201SR) purchased on December 20, 2019. Despite being under warranty, the unit has malfunctioned four times since its purchase, causing significant inconvenience, financial strain, and unsafe food storage.

    When the refrigerator breaks, we lose complete control of temperature and the ability to adjust any temperature settings. The issue causes food spoilage, and the food must be removed for the service technician to fix the broken door. The refrigerator has the same repeated problem that occurs yearly where the wiring harness breaks and the ice maker door starts opening and closing repeatedly. When the ice-making door is opened, it leaves an opening in the refrigerator, creating an unsafe refrigerator environment. It cannot be shut off, and all the controls lose functionality. Even the refrigerator light will not turn on.

    One of the most distressing incidents occurred when a crucial repair took approximately seven weeks. During this period, my family and I were forced to rely on alternative means to store perishable goods, which was both inconvenient and costly. I have made numerous attempts to resolve these issues directly with Samsung, including making ten phone calls, one of which lasted for five hours on Monday, October 9, 2023. No tangible solutions have been provided despite the lengthy discussions and numerous assurances. My efforts to secure a repair appointment have been fruitless, and the poor responsiveness exacerbates the situation.

    On October 13th I opened a case with the [REDACTED] since I was not getting a resolution with Samsung directly. I asked them for higher compensation than what was offered so I could purchase a reliable refrigerator. So far, after multiple emails since Oct. 16th, they are trying to schedule another service appointment. They have acknowledged that the refrigerator is of a defective design. I would expect to get at least ten years of life out of a refrigerator. Their behavior has been a complete waste of time, disrespectful, and unsafe to my family. We are already in the process of purchasing a new refrigerator, and now they want to send a technician after all this time. How long is this going to take another month?

    Moreover, Samsung offered a partial compensation of $1,106.89 for the ongoing issues. However, despite their assurance, no payment has been received to date. Adding to the disappointment, they have not responded to an email that they requested, further demonstrating a lack of responsibility and customer care.

    Furthermore, Samsung advised me to seek a refund from Assurion for the extended warranty purchased. However, this does not address the core issue of the safety of the faulty refrigerator and the irresponsible customer service provided by Samsung. This ordeal has been incredibly frustrating, and the lack of action from Samsung has left me feeling neglected and undervalued as a customer. I hope that by bringing this matter to the attention of the Better Business Bureau, other consumers can be spared the ordeal that I have been through.

    I am requesting a full refund for the refrigerator and the extended warranty, alongside a formal apology from Samsung for the undue stress and inconvenience caused and the unsafe appliance they have sold me.

    The Samsung refrigerator we purchased in 2016 keeps getting ice build up inside the back panel of the unit.
