The product, in the report: Samsung Refrigerator Model No. RF28HMEDBSR/AA with Serial No.: 065L43BG602220X; French Door with Flex Zone
I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator Model No. RF28HMEDBSR/AA with Serial No.: 065L43BG602220X from Home Depot last September 2015. About a year after we started having problem with the Ice Maker. About a month ago we started having another problem that the freezer (59 F) and the flex zone is not cooling properly. I called Samsung support and did some trouble shooting over the phone and still did not solve the issue. On my last call, they said that they couldn’t do anything over the phone and needs to be check by a technician, but however since the warranty expired about 3 months prior to my call, Samsung will not cover any repair. With my frustration, having almost all of my appliances that we bought are Samsung appliances, started seeking help. Unfortunately, I am not the only one having problem with this specific model from Samsung Refrigerator. For the last month, my family has settle not to have any freezer and to risk being food poison from a refrigerator stating a temperature of 34 degrees, but when I use a thermometer it is clearly stating that our refrigerator is only cooling up to 45 degree F. Who knows if all this time that we have the refrigerator we have been getting sick because of this “DESIGN DEFECT” from Samsung, for UNSAFE TEMPERATURE for food storage.

The product, in the report: Samsung French door freezer fridge with twin cooling technology. Purchased in 2015 from an HH Gregg store.
Samsung French door fridge purchased in 2015 and now the fridge has stopped working twice now. The temp on the outside on the fridge reads 36-40 degrees but inside the food has gone bad and you can feel it’s warm. We bought a thermometer to put inside to check the temp and it’s 45-48 degreees! Had to toss so much food now. Had repair person out today from Samsung who did NOTHING. The first time we noticed it, my daughter took a sip of her milk and said it was “gross” but we had just bought it the day before. Lo and behold, it was spoiled! She could have gotten sick.

The product, in the report: Samsung fridge
I bought my Samsung fridge in December of 2015. It is model number RF28HMEDBSR. There are many many complaints of defects on this fridge. A week ago I noticed there was no ice in the ice maker at all and it was dripping. We checked the door of the refrigerator to see that temperature and it read 34 degrees. The food inside was pretty warm. Who knows if we were eating unsafe food for. The freezer temp says 0 degrees and it is not at 0 degrees either. The door should show what the temperatures are inside the fridge and it should last longer than 5 years!

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model # RF28HFEDSBR/AA Serial # 065K43BF603583V
Purchased a Samsung refrigerator on September 9, 2014. Began to immediately have issues with the ice maker freezing over (encased in a solid block of ice). After multiple calls to Samsung and several service technicians, we thought it was finally fixed on July 5, 2019. Refrigerator compartment does not hold a temperature that is required for safe food storage, therefore I have had multiple instances with food poisoning and molded /spoiled food. Ice maker once again began freezing over on February 15, 2020.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Feb 16, 2021, sent to the company Mar 5, 2021, published by CPSC Mar 19, 2021
The product, in the report: Samsung 3 Door French Refrigerator - Black Stainless steel Model RF263BEAEESG/AA
I purchased a refrigerator that appears to be a defective unit as Samsung technicians and virtual support has condemned the unit. It floods my floor, has ice buildup on the back wall of the unit, the back cover has rusted and there is black mold growing behind the bins so their decision was to condemn, as it could not be fixed, and I assume, based on the black mold that tends to grow, that it was unsafe. The unit was under warranty when I filed the claim. I did not request a refund for the unit as I wanted it fixed. I am now being told that it cannot be repaired, a replacement unit is unavailable and the compensation being offered is only half of what I paid. In October of 2020, I attempted to reach Samsung to try and get the unit repaired. The process took a while, but I was finally given an appointment on 12/22/20. The technician arrived, prepared to install a new icemaker only. Once she looked at the unit, she sought help from Virtual Support. I was told that she could not fix the unit. She was only trained to do the icemaker, so I needed to get another technician. New technician set the appointment for January 4th. They were a no show. I called and was told that my appointment had to be changed to January 7th. This technician pulled the unit from the wall and said, “I need to call virtual support, we may have to condemn your refrigerator”. After approximately 20 minutes, he informed me he wouldn’t be fixing the unit as it was condemned. After speaking with [REDACTED] in the Office of the President, I was asked to send my bill of sale, which I did. January 22, 2021: I received a text message containing the offer of $927.84 on a unit I paid $1901.70 for less than 5 years ago. January 22, 2021: I appealed this offer amount via return email. February 5, 2021: I received a response text informing me that I never responded to the offer text. February 8, 2021: Responded with the same answer from January. February 10, 2021: Received a text with the same offer. None of my concerns were addressed. I am contesting this offer amount based on the following: • The unit was condemned before its warranty expired. Under the Limitation of Remedies section in the warranty, it states: • “YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS PRODUCT REPAIR, PRODUCT REPLACEMENT, OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE AT SAMSUNG’S OPTION, AS PROVIDED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. • This unit has proven to be defective. It cannot be repaired and must be recycled before its 5th birthday. If we look at a basic formula of Age of unit, purchase price and offer price, this unit is built to only last 2.5 years? I doubt that is the normal lifespan for a refrigerator. Although there is no lemon law for appliances, there are expectations under the Federal Warranty Act. I am choosing to file a complaint because the refrigerator that I was sold is unsafe and unhealthy. Black mold grows inside the refrigerator because of the clogged drain plugs which Samsung knew about and issued a service bulletin in 2015. I purchased my unit in 2016. After they condemned my refrigerator, they want to say it’s out of warranty. It is a defective product and it is unsafe. I suffered from E.Coli last year based on the black mold growing unseen behind the bins. I requested Samsung follow the terms of my warranty and either repair, replace or refund purchase price. Repair is not possible (condemned), a replacement unit is not available.

The product, in the report: Samsung Refrigerator model number RF26HFENDSR/AA
We bought a new refrigerator in June 2015, as is, due to it having scratches on it, but there was no warranty. It was manufactured (November 2014) just a few months prior to our buying it. We had our 1st repair in September of 2019. We paid for this repair. The 2nd repair was under warranty from the repair company. We did not pay anything. Now we have a 3rd repair that we are forced to pay for because the repair company has no warranty on it. We know MANY others who are having this issue. The temperature does not maintain itself which makes it unsafe for keeping foods in it. We are looking into getting a FULL refund from Samsung but we need as many advocates out there, like you guys, as we can get. PLEASE HELP!!!

No one hurt Made Jan 30, 2021, sent to the company Mar 19, 2021, published by CPSC Apr 2, 2021
The product, in the report: Samsung 3-Door French Door Refrigerator. Model#RF323TEDBBC/AA. Serial#V60443BFA00110L. Black.
I bought a Samsung 3-door French door refrigerator from Nebraska Furniture Mart on 11-21-2014 for $2058.20. Shortly after, we noticed that the ice in the door would get jammed in the chute, would melt and stick together and result in water leaking onto our floor. We would have to wait for it to all melt before we could dispense more ice. We didn’t think much about it, this being our first refrigerator with the ice-in-door feature. In 2016, our ice maker started completely freezing up and would stop making ice completely. My husband finally decided to reach out to Samsung for support. He called and was told that they could send a tech out to our house to “look at it” but that there would be a charge, the amount they wanted for a service call was about $150.00, outrageous in our opinion. We were also directed to Samsung.com and to follow the troubleshooting options available on there. We would defrost the ice maker per the troubleshooting guidelines every month or so, then it started happening more often, to where we were having to defrost the ice maker every week. This was a huge headache, so in 2017 we decided to just turn off both the top and bottom ice makers and we would just buy bagged ice. We have been buying bagged ice for the past 3 years. Samsung has published service bulletins dating back to 2006 regarding the defective ice maker issue. I know that the NJ AG reached a settlement with Samsung in 2009 for deceptive practices. Samsung agreed to abide by the following terms: “ Under the AVC, Samsung America agreed to: -Not engage in any unfair acts or deceptive practices in the conduct of its business in the state and to comply with all applicable state and/or federal laws, rules and regulations; -Provide consumers with all required home appliance warranties and service contracts; -Disclose to consumers all diagnostic charges and other set fees and the methods to determine the total charge, including the charges for labor and parts, when performing appliance repairs. (Not applicable when Samsung refers out-of-warranty home appliance repairs to an independent service network.) -Honor all Samsung home appliance warranties and service contracts and to complete all contracted-for, in-warranty repair work, whether completed by Samsung or through an independent service network; -Provide consumers a toll free customer service telephone number to address any post order inquiries concerning home appliances, and to clearly disclose the telephone numbers to consumers; -Make available a customer service manager and/or supervisor when the consumer calls the toll-free customer service telephone number and makes such a request. -Respond to consumer complaints or requests for refunds, credits or other adjustments within five (5) business days of its receipt of the consumer’s telephone call, e mail or letter; and -Implement training and other programs, as necessary, to instruct its customer service representatives as to new home appliances and/or changes in policies and procedures including, but not limited to, those concerning billing practices”
I believe the way Samsung has handled my complaint is in direct violation of this agreement. I reached out to Samsung Support via the Chat option on January 9th and I was informed by [REDACTED] a Samsung tech pro that he would process a request for a repair Free of Charge. I did not hear from Samsung again until January 14th when I received a text from [REDACTED] Samsung Electronics America stating “Hi [REDACTED]. This is Samsung Electronics America. We like to inform that you may be eligible for accommodation due to no service center in your area to repair your Refrigerator. Please reply to this message with a clear picture of the full purchase receipt if available for us to determine your accommodation option” I replied to the message immediately with my Sales Receipt from Nebraska Furniture Mart for the unit. I did not hear from Samsung again until January 21st. They texted me again from the same number asking me for a ownership certificate or cashier receipt because they could see from my original receipt that the unit was financing on a credit card. I replied an hour later with a credit card statement showing when the unit was paid in full and is owned by me. I received a call on January 25th from “[REDACTED]” at the “Office of the President” with Samsung, which I understand is an external company that Samsung employs to handle these types of requests, and he informed me that due to the age of the unit that I am only eligible for a “pro-rated refund of $800.00” I told him I felt this was insulting and unacceptable. Samsung has known of the defective ice makers on the model of refrigerator I have since 2006, there are also Class Action Lawsuits that are pending against Samsung for this exact defect, proving that Samsung KNOWINGLY sold me a defective product that should have been recalled long before I bought it. I should not have to be punished and not receive a full refund because I had to do my own research to find out that I was sold a defective product. He said that was the best that he could do and ended the conversation. I sent [REDACTED] an email the same day reiterating our conversation and that I want a full refund. I sent him another email on January 27th following up on my refund request, I also informed [REDACTED] that we have been having to buy bagged ice for the past 3 years. We buy (6) 6lb bags of ice per week from our local grocery store that cost $1.69/bag. The grand total for that amount of ice for the past 3 years is: $1581.84!! I told him that I am being more than reasonable for only asking for a refund on my unit and not also asking for reimbursement for the cost of ice that I shouldn’t have to be buying. I also received an email from [REDACTED] at the New Jersey BBB where I have an open case that they are awaiting a response from Samsung. I called 1-800-Samsung on January 30th and spoke with “[REDACTED]” in Case Management, She reviewed my case and again informed me that I am only eligible for a “pro-rated refund” this time of $897.00. I again informed her that is not acceptable for all the reasons listed above. There have been multiple published reports of Samsung making “repairs” on the ice makers, like replacing the motherboards, and the units not keeping steady temperatures below the food-safe requirements. Samsung is selling defective products to their consumers and they are doing illegitimate repairs that are causing more problems and getting people sick with food-borne illnesses and they will do nothing about it!!
Aside from the ice maker issue, I was recently made aware that these defective refrigerators also have issues with temperature regulation. I bought a refrigerator thermometer today and placed it in the center of my refrigerator, per the instructions. I checked the thermometer 4 hours later and I was SHOCKED to see the temperature in our refrigerator is 46 degrees! Our digital display is set on 36 degrees. I have attached photos for your reference. I have noticed in the past that our milk, meat, and produce spoils much quicker than they should. Apparently this is the reason! This is a HUGE safety issue. According to the USDA guidelines, this temperature is unsafe and our food is not safe for consumption. We have been incredibly fortunate that none of us have gotten food poisoning! I have a 2 year old daughter who could get incredibly sick from spoiled food. This is unacceptable and this defective refrigerator is now a hazard to my family’s health. Samsung needs to do what is right and provide me a full refund, they are selling unsafe products to their consumers and need to be held accountable!

My Samsung refrigerator is 100% defective. Ice maker freezes over, temperatures fluctuate between 35-58*, water leaks under hbd crisper drawers. I had called Samsung years ago and was told by their rep that the only thing I should do is never buy their products again. Called 27 service places and not one would come look at it. After finding the class action lawsuit, I reached back out to Samsung. They replaced the ice maker but will not look at anything else.

I have a Samsung Refrigerator and had the ice machine repaired several times. Some of my food in the fridge also would have ice, so I’d adjust the temp. My ice-cream often was soft and meat seamed not quite frozen. The freezer recently died and I realized after research that these refrigerators are common for these issues. There have been times when I threw out items for fear they had not been frozen properly. This is a true health issue and I am finding that so many people have been battling this issue. It seems Samsung will do nothing, including a recall.

We bought a Samsung refrigerator the summer of 2014. At 6 weeks of having it temperature started having problems. Back would freeze up and the unit would not cool getting 50 degrees or higher in the unit. This has been a weekly ongoing problem and Samsung was called. They stated that they had no issues with our fridge and we would have to pay to have it fixed ourselves. At 6 weeks and almost 6 months of having the product they denied any type of warranty or coverage. I have since found that many people have this issue and Samsung is aware but does not repair it or recall. We have issues with temps being above 50 ruining/ endangering food safety Bottom crisper drawer collecting water below and freezing shut Bottom drawer collecting water below and leaking ruining floors Ice maker and water that won’t work due to freezing up Back panel of refrigerator freezing Temp panel not reading actual inside of refrigerator Refrigerator becoming very cold and freezing all food in top thus ruining food stored

Our Samsung refrigerator model RF28HFEDBBC began warming up without warning. The temperature swung far out of the food safe zone causing the food within to perish. The fridge lights on the external temperature monitor never showed that the fridge was warming up until too late, the food within was far above the food safe zone. The food within the unit had to be disposed of as we didn’t want to risk food poisoning for our family of six, including 4 children ranging from 7 months to 8 years old. Samsung is refusing to take responsibility for the defect, refusing to return calls. They have canceled 4 tickets for service so far.

The product, in the report: Samsung Refrigerator (stainless steel french door with flex zone drawer) 36” wide (?) Model: RF28HMEDBSR/AA
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator Model RF28HMEDBSR/AA in April 2017 from HHGregg. Since I purchased the fridge, I have had nothing but problems with it non-stop. Here are the issues currently affecting my appliance:
1. Ice maker is constantly frozen over and jammed up. If I defrost the fridge for hours (putting my food at risk of spoiling), it’s fixed for a couple of days and starts all over again. This is a known product defect and is not a warranty issue.
2. This month, a terrible chemical smell has started building up inside of the appliance. My food started smelling like the chemical that has been leaking in, and is now beginning to taste like it too. I have 2 small children, and I do not feel comfortable feeding them food from a fridge that makes it taste like a potentially poisonous chemical. Who knows what kind of harm could come from me feeding my family food from this fridge.
3. The flex zone drawer is broken. A few years ago, the button would go haywire and start pressing itself, beeping constantly for hours, even through the night, changing modes. Now, the button has completely broken and is stuck at 29 degrees, freezing the contents of my drawer.
4. Temperature is not consistent throughout the appliance. Food in the back of my fridge freezes, while food in the front is okay. Food in the top pull out drawer of my freezer is constantly covered in ice because it begins to thaw and then refreezes, causing another health hazard for my family.
The constant fluctuating temperatures inside of my fridge and freezer, the gas leaking out, and having to constantly defrost the fridge in order to have my ice maker work for a few days are all causing health hazards for my family, and Samsung refuses to do anything about the problem.

The product, in the report: Our Samsung rs25j50 (side by side) Free Standing Refrigerator
Our Samsung rs25j50 (side by side) refrigerator is FREEZING everything in it. It’s only 3-4 years old, but is no longer under warranty. We have tried unplugging it for 48 hours, letting it defrost, setting it at a specific temp, vacuuming the back, cleaning the inside, and reorganizing everything in freezer to make sure vents are not blocked. It’s not out of warranty?, and Samsung wants to charge a ridiculous amount of money ($200) just to come out to see it...PLUS parts and labor, if needed. We really do NOT want to have to buy a new fridge during this pandemic. It seems like the problem with these Samsung refrigerators are usually that it gets too cold or too warm (cooling issues) in the fridge part, spoiling the food AND the ice maker problems. However, our fridge is NOT to warm, it’s freezing the food in the fridge part and the ice maker is working fine.

I bought a Samsung Refrigerator in 2008. We have had nothing but issues with this refrigerator. The consistent issue is that it continues to freeze up and then drains in the bottom of the Refrigerator and then it freezes and/or runs out and I have to continue to clean it out. I have called multiple times with no resolve. I have been told this is a known issue, but no recalls. I have had a certified tech come out and fixed it yet it has now gone back to having the issue. My Samsung refrigerator has a defect where the fan that cools the fridge becomes frozen and the temperature begins to rise. The thermostat on the display outside of the fridge will not report the change in temperature. It’s gotten over 40 degrees F before. The fan just froze again yesterday and now the temperature is already over 40 degrees. I’ve had it repaired by a technician and bought it brand new in 2013. I constantly am afraid the fan will freeze and our food will go bad and grow bacteria. The first time this happened in 2019, we knew there was an issue because the milk didn’t taste right. I’ve had to throw away food when this happens and make sure that anything I keep is still edible.

The product, in the report: Samsung 28 cuft refrigerator, French door
Samsung French door RF28T5001SR. Fridge was delivered 11/24/20 and stopped cooling in freezer at 12/4/20 and by 12/6/20 the entire fridge and freezer was warm. I have children at home, they could have been at risk for eating food held at unsafe temperature, I had to quickly document all food destroyed and throw it all away. (I was not using ice maker). This was at home. We lost almost $600 in groceries as we just filled the fridge up after thanksgiving. Spoke with homedepot, they will not accept returns on large appliances after 48 hours! Spoke with Samsung and there are no technicians, they have issues me a refund for the item since Home Depot refused a refund.

i have a 3 y/o Samsung French Door style refrigerator model RF263BEAESR. The digital temperature on the door shows 34F. However, my portable refrigerator thermometer reads 48F. I have notice that produce and minimally processed foods spoil quickly. I now only keep foods that i will eatwithin a day or two. I am fortunate to have a second fridge in my garage to keep my main food supply safe. I am frustrated and have since scheduled a service call for a problem they have told me over the phone can’t be serviced without a $250 service call fee.

The product, in the report: Samsung Flex 4 Door Food Showcase Refrigerator - Stainless steel - Refrigerator and freezer
I have a Samsung 4 door Flex Food Showcase that was purchased on 11/09/2016. The display on the door notes the temperature inside the freezer and refrigerator. However, the temperature in these compartments are much warmer than what is noted on the display. Currently, the display notes that the freezer is -1 degrees F and the refrigerator is 37 degrees F. However, the thermometers that I purchased and put inside the compartments read that the temperature in the freezer is 32 degrees and the refrigerator is 44 degrees F. These are unsafe temperatures for food storage and clearly there is a serious problem since the display is recording the incorrect temperature.

The product, in the report: Samsung french door fridge - Model #RF28HMEDBSR. Stainless steel with an additional adjustable temperature middle drawer.
I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator Model #RF28HMEDBSR in July 2016. I have had numerous issues with it, including issues with the ice maker not working and also with the interior temperature being too warm. The interior temperature of the fridge portion fluctuates between 41 and 44 degrees farenheit, despite the fridge being set on 37 degrees. Anything over 40 degrees is an unsafe temperature for food and can result in food spoilage and illness. This is a known defect with Samsung french door refrigerators and there are multiple service bulletins that have been published dating back to 2007 about this problem. There are also currently two class action lawsuits in process regarding these particular issues with Samsung fridges as well. Samsung still continues to sell french door refrigerators with these known defects. I now own a useless hunk of metal that cost me over $2,000.

The product, in the report: Our Samsung Refrigerator, (Model RF260BEAESG/AA) (S/N: 0APV4BBK905115M)was purchased in November 2018. (Manufactured September 2018) From early on after the purchase, the drawers seemed flimsy, and we had issues with the icemaker. The handle of the freezer door broke off, and we had to repair it. Soon after, the icemaker stopped working entirely. Then, a horrid stench came from the refrigerator. Upon further investigation, there was an entire ice shelf of oddly colored ice. Every time we cleaned it up, it came back with more and more ice buildup in the deli drawer. At this point, we placed a temperature probe in the refrigerator unit, and noticed that it was not keeping safe temperature. (It was always around 50-60*) We had to dispose of everything in the refrigerator, (including temperature sensitive medications) and use another fridge/freezer, as this unit is completely disfunctional.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door Refrigerator / Freezer. Model # RF323TEDBSR
Defective Samsung Refrigerator/Freezer! The refrigerator hasn’t worked properly since we purchased it. It has two ice makers, neither work and haven’t worked in several years. We’ve had technicians out to look at / work of the refrigerator previously and today, 12/30/2020, Samsung sent a technician out and the technician, [REDACTED] from [REDACTED] in [REDACTED], came out today and advised the refrigerator is DEFECTIVE AND NOT REPAIRABLE! The technician called and spoke with Samsung while he was here and advised Samsung of the non-repairable situation. My wife, [REDACTED], and I contacted Samsung ourselves once the technician left and advised we would like a reasonable resolution to our situation given the defective refrigerator/freezer, they offered $346.68 as a prorated settlements amount, an insulting offer for a defective unit we paid almost $3,000 for!!! We are entitled to a reasonable refund amount given all we have been through with this defective unit. We’ve had to purchase a separate ice maker (given both ice makers don’t work (and have lost food in both the refrigerator and freezer over the years given the refrigerator generally only cools to 48 degrees when set at 35 degrees and the freezer cools to 30 degrees when set at -8 degrees.

The product, in the report: French door refrigerator
I have been living with a nightmare of a fridge since 2015. My unit and many others are not only prone to having defective ice makers, but unsafe temperatures as well. My fridge was purchased in November 2014 and started having issues late 2015. I was told to just reset it and everything should be fine. Icemaker continually froze up and stopped working. Samsung first admitted to me their ice makers were made in Korea by another company and there were no known issues with their refrigerators. However I have a service bulletin showing they knew of the issue since 2006. Not only that, but I have the bulletins showing many revisions in 2007, 2015, 2017 and 2019. I have a [REDACTED] folder I can share with all this information as well as conversations on [REDACTED] of Samsung not acknowledging these issues. Only after filing a complaint to the BBB Samsung offered a free repair. Samsung has now been out twice to replace the icemaker and many other components. Yet I am still stuck with the same issue of the icemaker not working along with a new cooling issue after the “repairs.” I have digital data logs of temperatures reaching at times 60 degrees before cooling. When you spend $3,000 on a refrigerator you shouldn’t have to worry about it breaking down in a short few years time. Not only that, but all the food and medicine loss it has cost me due to unsafe temperatures.

The product, in the report: Samsung Refrigerator french doors - bottom freezer - icemaker in refrigerator compartment which is causing unsafe temperatures and food is unsafe to eat - also Samsung dishwasher
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator that has a KNOWN DESIGN DEFECT since 2006.
I have had consistent problems with it: UNSAFE temperature so FOOD IS NOT SAFE TO EAT and the food gets moldy, display shows inaccurate temperature, leaking water in food area and icemaker, food compartment, ice shoot, and out of the fridge onto the floor, doesn’t cool inside, icemaker unusable/ice freezing up, 4 documented repairs, and replaced the icemaker 6 times.
This refrigerator never should have been sold with its KNOWN DESIGN DEFECT as described in bulletins since 2006. They NEVER should be selling these refrigerators to unsuspecting consumers.
THIS IS A LEMON. And the dishwasher too as I it had 7 documented repairs on the dishwasher and it was replaced at less than 5 years old. SAMSUNG SHOULD NOT BE SELLING REFRIGERATORS THAT HAVE A KNOWN DESIGN DEFECT. BOTH OF MY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES ARE LEMONS.
THE UNSAFE FOOD, LOSS OF USE OF MY APPLIANCES, THE LEAKS EVERYWHERE INCLUDING MY FLOOR AND WILL DAMAGE IT, NOT HAVING A WORKING ICEMAKER FOR YEARS, THE EXPENSES I HAVE INCURRED INCLUDING SERVICE FEES AND ICEMAKER PURCHASES, ALONG WITH MY HOURS AND HOURS OF TIME DEFROSTING IT, CLEANING UP, AND GOING TO THE STORE TO PURCHASE ICE AND REPLACING FOOD IS DEFINITELY NEWS-WORTHY.
My family and I have suffered too much stress and aggravation over these issues and it has to be rectified.
SAMSUNG NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR EGREGIOUS BAD FAITH.

The product, in the report: Samsung French door fridge, Model #RF24FSEDBSR/AA Stainless steel, fridge, ice maker in fridge box, ice and water on door, beer/soda drawer (working fine), lower compartment freezer (working find).
We’ve owned a Samsung French door fridge since 2014. Had ice maker freezing issues 4 times which finally resulted in free repair. Discovered at that point about fridge also icing over (had removed all stuff in fridge and noticed it). Finally figured out why groceries on doors (like milk and eggs) spoiled way before expiration dates. Temperature control terrible because of icing over of cooling /defrost system. Worried now about proper storage of insulin. Bought mini fridge to make sure. Asked Samsung to repair for free as countless complaints about this issue all over internet, [REDACTED], and they said no. Arranged for service with estimated $600 repair (if it is just fan, but from what I’ve seen online, cooling/defrost systems completely frozen over once back panel removed. Could be way more expensive to repair. Fridge was $2,797. Coming out Christmas Eve! I’m concerned about proper storage of food prior to holidays (well, everyday). Had to buy mini fridge to store insulin!

We bought this refrigerator in 2017 and have replaced it 2 times because of icemaker issues and defects. This is not a warranty issue and is a known defect issue with the Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker no longer makes ice, it freezes up as well as the parts, water drips from the ice tray because of the build-up of ice crystals, water drips from the outside push button, sometimes it will not close as the ice bucket gets stuck, and the temperature is not regulating properly as the food keeps spoiling fairly quickly.

I am the unfortunate owner of a 5 year old Samsung Refrigerator. 2 months ago I noticed food going bad quicker than normal I also started having GI issues. My dog who i cook and store food for has also been having loose stool. Out of an abundance of caution I started monitoring the temperature and it is not matching what I set it at. It goes up and down and is often trending over 40 degrees. I have asked for a service call which i have been granted for thursday, however I was told that because of Samsungs deceptive practices and because it is a food safety issue that I should file with you.

The product, in the report: French door flex zone refrigerator
My refrigerator is defective, the freezer will freeze items, thaw them and then freeze them again. The refrigerator, itself, is often in the “danger zone” of safe food handling. The freezer has also gotten up above 59 degrees before. Several others have experienced the same problem. When a repairman comes, he tells me that there aren’t any errors codes, so there is nothing to fix. This is an ongoing problem for about a year. The refrigerator is only 2 years old and was just barely “out of warranty” when it started.

The product, in the report: Samsung Family Hub 4-Door Flex French Door Counter-width, stainless steel refrigerator Model RF22K9581SR
I purchased a Samsung Family Hub 4-Door Flex French Door (counter-depth) refrigerator in stainless steel - Model # RF22K9581SR at the Home Depot on March 7, 2017, for a whopping $4,006.99. I chose this Samsung as we decided to remodel the kitchen and wanted a counter-depth refrigerator. This purchase was the worst decision I ever made as it has numerous defective design flaws that Samsung is well aware of since 2006. The ice maker consistently froze, which in turn made it difficult to pry the tray door open unless you force defrost it. We did that exercise for a while then gave up. The bottom of the ice maker drips water into the other compartments and out when you open the door. I was constantly cleaning the crisper drawers as a result of this dripping. The inside temperature fluctuates to unsafe levels and do not match the actual settings shown on the screen. How do I know this? I’ve used a standalone thermometer to confirm this issue and confirmed safety temperatures with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. We have disposed of thousands of dollars in spoiled food over the years. The bottom two (French door) areas of the refrigerator, although set to freeze will not keep anything frozen (i.e., melted ice cream). The TV mirror feature rarely ever works as the refrigerator constantly freezes on “connecting to internet” mode. We have a private dedicated network. Everything else in the house connects to our service except for the refrigerator, on cue. The screen also randomly freezes up and won’t respond when you press any of the options on the screen. I have reached out to have it serviced numerous times over the years, always told that I would have to pay for service. I’ve had a few of Samsung’s technicians’ share that these are in fact known design flaws and that Samsung will not do anything about it. Very shocked to have this shared with me but I guess I spoke to some of your technicians that were simply tired of reading off approved company bullet points to their customers. My initial excitement has turned into a huge disappointment and have lost faith in the Samsung brand as I’m constantly reminded of the small fortune I spent on this useless piece of furniture every single time I walk into my kitchen. We have been purchasing ice and keeping it in our deep freezer all these years. This year, we finally broke down and literally purchased a standalone icemaker which sits on my counter right next to this so-called high-tech refrigerator. Since submitting my complaint to the NJBBB, Samsung sent a technician over to “diagnose” the issues. The technician showed up at our home with almost every part he would need to correct many of the refrigerator’s flaws. How did Samsung know to send specific replacement parts prior to a diagnosis? That was interestingly telling. These refrigerators are still being sold with known issues to unsuspecting consumers to-date. Some may not realize that they are consuming food that is not safe due to the fluctuating temperatures, which is not easy to diagnose unless one is smart enough to purchase a standalone thermometer to check. Or understand why their food is spoiling so quickly. Samsung needs to be held accountable for caring more for their bottom line and not their consumers or their reputation for that matter. Why has the government not forced them to do a recall on this refrigerator? This refrigerator has burned down whole kitchens and just as bad, black mold in some homes which is being consumed.

I own a Samsung flex refrigerator. Purchased in 2018. The fridge worked fine until this March 2020 when the ice machine just stopped working. Called Samsung and paid for a repairman to come out. Repairman states that is a defct that Samsung is aware of and that I would need to call them back and have them send out the parts to replace it. Called Samsung and spent literally 4 hours on the phone while virtual chatting woth one guy. After being on the phone two different associates going around why they won’t send out repair parts for an issue they know they have with their product. Finally I was put on the phone with a young man who actually tried to help. He gave me a ticket number and promised someone would get back to me. This was at the height of covid so I understood if no one got back to me immediately. Unfortunately it is now December and I have not had a return call and now my freezer has gone out on both sides of the unit.

The product, in the report: Samsung refrigerator Model RF261BEAESR
Samsung refrigerators are know for having a design flaw with the evaporator clip. This causes ice to form under the crisper drawers and in some cases in the freezer . This doesn’t hurt anyone but why should I have to pay to have this corrected because they failed to accept responsiblity for the flaw. this flaw causes an ice dam on the drain to remove the water and instead the water spills over and under the drawers and in some cases in the drawer. This is well documented on You TUbe on how to repair because Samsung won’t accept responsibility. This is used on a daily basis and is an expensive purchase to have to deal with water and ice ruining food and having to pay to have a 6.00 part replaced where the technician charge is 129.00 just to come to the door.

The product, in the report: Samsung refrigerator model RFG238AARS/XAA. Dimensions are: 35.75’’ X 30.5’’ X 69.75’’ Stainless steel refrigerator with French doors, freezer on the bottom and contains an ice maker in the door. Made in Korea.
Samsung refrigerator model RFG238AARS/XAA has not functioned properly in the time we’ve owned in since 2014. We’ve had 2 repairs done which didn’t help. The unit doesn’t stay cold causing food to spoil over the years, including sour milk and rotten eggs. Extreme caution has been needed when eating food from the refrigerator, especially for our daughter who has health issues. Ice builds up inside the refrigerator section air vents causing reduced air flow needed to keep the refrigerator cold. We’ve placed 2 digital thermometers in the unit; temperatures have been over 50 degrees. That’s when the defrosting has to be done again. Numerous times it has had to be unplugged to defrost the frozen coils only to ice up again as the weeks pass. So much time and effort has been spent on trying to keep the refrigerator from freezing up in addition to the “total thaw” method of taking everything out and unplugging it for 2 days waiting for it to thaw. Hair dryers speed up the thawing process but only partially get the ice off of the coils. Samsung has been called several times and they don’t admit any problem, saying that an authorized Samsung repair person can be sent out at our expense.

The product, in the report: Samsung 4 door stainless steel refrigerator 30.4 cu ft.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2014. The ice maker had issues from day one and never worked correctly. Samsung has a class action lawsuit out for their ice maker issue. The ice for buildup started to cause damage to the fridge so I would have to thaw it out and scrape it off with a putty knife. The ice was Sharp and Jagged and on three occasions cut my hand pretty bad trying to get the ice build up off. I contacted Samsung multiple times for this issue and they either claimed that there was no fix for this issue, or claim that there was no issue at all and would never help me. The fresh food compartment stop Cooling and would get 263 degrees its coldest. I contacted Samsung again, and they gave me the run-around multiple times claiming that it was not under warranty and they could not do anything. I had to contact them dozens of times and they finally agreed to come out and repair it. They sent a tech out and he did multiple tests and then just left. I had to contact Samsung multiple times to figure out if they were going to fix the fridge since we had nothing to keep our food cold, we had multiple issues trying to keep our food at the proper temperature. We had hundreds of dollars of food go to waste and including our youngest getting sick from eating a string cheese that had gone bad, giving him food poising. I had a third-party repair company come out to look at the fridge. He looked at it and said that the compressor the evaporator coil and the sponge was dry so, we’re all warranty tissues for 10 years and Samsung should prepare this. He also explained that the refrigerant [REDACTED] what’s leaking from the compressor which was r600a and is extremely flammable. He explained that since we had a gas stove with an open flame next to the fridge with this [REDACTED] refrigerant leaking out, that could cause an explosion. I was extremely worried since I have three kids under the age of eight. I was concerned for their safety and also the [REDACTED] leak burning my house down. I contacted Samsung again and told them about the extreme danger of the [REDACTED] leak and it causing an explosion. They told me that they refused to repair the fridge and did not care that there was an explosion Danger. Since I was so concerned about this issue, I had to move to fridge out of the house and go purchase a new one. I am still fighting The Samsung to get a refund since they did not honor their warranty and they have been selling defective fridges since 2006 with the same issues. I am on shock since there was a health danger with the fridge not keeping food at the correct temperature and even worse that the [REDACTED] leak could have exploded. Samsung has continued to sell their defective fridge design knowingly. They should be held reliable for scamming customers into buying defective equipment and refusing to honor their warranty.

My samsung acct has extensive notes on the issue I am having with my defective Samsung refrigerator model RF263BEAESR...this has been an ongoing problem for months and months including 6 hour chats with Samsung, 2 repair calls, unanswered emails, phone calls...I have been on hold for over 2 and a half hours on my phone last week with case management they would not pick up and answer the call....I have 6 people in my house, a refrigerator that has been repaired twice in the same week and the fridge is still not cooling, it stays over 40 degrees, I have thrown away food, I have filed a complaint with the NJBBB, I am communicating with an attorney on small claims court, I have sent in info on food loss compensation, no response... I just want a refund of 2000 for the cost of the defective fridge and 400 for food loss compensation. I am in contact with our local news station, my uncle works at one and a family friend works at the other, they are working on a story that shows what issues people are having with this particular refrigerator. I am seeing my doctor for anxiety that has come back due to the stress of this cooling issue, and my child has an upcoming appt with an internal doctor to see if his stomach issues are from improperly cooled food. i just want to replace my defective refrigerator with one that cools properly. This company continues to give the run around even though a refund is the right thing for Samsung to do for their customers; I have been on too many phone calls and chats and emails than should be necessary for resolution to this continuous problem. Thank you for your time.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door refrigerator. Model : RF28HFEDBSR
I purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator in 2015. By the end of 2016, the ice maker failed. I couldn’t afford to call a repairman and had seen online that typically, the fixes didn’t last. In 2020, I realized that there are groups supporting owners of Samsung products and there are class action lawsuits. I reached out to Samsung, and they sent a repair person. I now have ice, but within 4 days my refrigerator began to sound like an airplane taking off, and I noticed that the temperature in the refrigerator didn’t feel cold. I bought a thermometer meant for fridges. It has consistently measured between 44 and 56* in the past two weeks- much too warm to keep food safe. Samsung refused to send out another repair person, but offered me half of the price of my original unit. I can not afford to purchase a new item with that amount, and I do not feel like it should be applied to service calls which clearly won’t work on these defective units. It is a fact that Samsung have knowingly been selling defective items since the early 2000’s. The evidence for this are the hundreds of service bulletins they issue for their refrigerators.

I have a Samsung refrigerator that has unsafe temperatures. Samsung has been made aware & has known of the defects since 2009 if not sooner. On 9/11/2020, my fridge went over 77 degrees & I lost entire contents to spoilage. Well over $500+ worth. I purchased 3 thermometers & temps inside fridge are Consistently Over 40+degrees & spontaneously & sporadically will go up to over 50+ degrees. As the temp on outside of fridge states 34degrees. I believe that is why We have had stomach issues, nausea & have tossed spoiled food over the past few years.

The product, in the report: Samsung 24 cu-in French Door Refrigerator: Model Name : RF25HMEDBSR S/N: 065N43BDB00010J Stainless Steel
I purchased a Samsung 4 door french door in January. Since day 1 we’ve had issues with the ice maker, either freezing up, or dispensing crushing. Food stored in the fridge always seemed not as cold as what we’d come to expect from our old refrigerator. After a while the fan started making noises. We figured it needed to be defrosted( this is a few year old, top of the line fridge, it should never need to be defrosted manually). It worked ok for a few months, and the same thing started happening. Since last year, this has been a monthly occurrence, and we know the fridge is not cooling properly because the fan would eventually frost over, stop and then all our food would go bad. We also have a toddler who’s breast milk and food was kept at this fridge and after checking the actual temps with a real thermometer it’s not uncommon for it to show temps inside in the 50’s and 60’s when it starts acting up. At this point we can’t keep any food in there, and we’ve resorted to just using the middle and freezer and have to pretty much go for groceries and cook everyday, in the middle of a pandemic of all things.

The refrigerator is a 2015 French door Samsung. My daughter became sick the previous day due to the temperatures reading wrong from eating spoiled food.
This is a known issue with Samsung, the back of the refrigerator completely freezes up cause the unit not not cool properly. They have refused to acknowledge that they have an ongoing issue with these types of refrigerators.

SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR The digital display is set point.....Although you will notice that when starting from a warm refrigerator you can watch the digital display run down as the temp decreases. But once the temp gets down near the set point it will always show the Set Point temp regardless of what the inside temp is. Get an accurate thermometer for your fridge and freezer for reference. This is first and foremost my initial food safety complaint with Samsung. I was drinking warm milk and nearly spoiled food for months before I realized the disconnect between the Set Point and actual in box temps

The product, in the report: Samsung RF268 Series 26 cu. ft. capacity French Door Fridge. Model name is RF268ABWP.
I am wanting to report my Samsung French Door refrigerator. The manufacturer date is September 2010. I purchased this in November 2011. This fridge has had issues since day 6 of owning. Samsung is aware they have issues with this product and will not recall it. The ice maker up top freezes and also leaks constantly. The leaking has caused mold on the inside and outside of the ice maker. The compressor makes a winding noise. The food will be up to temp one day and then the next day the thermometers will read up to 20 degrees warmer than the unit is displaying! This has caused multiple food items to spoil and go bad. We have had several tummy issues due to the unsafe and unknowing temperatures.
