    Samsung refrigerator breaks down silently . My refrigerator kept on saying the temperature was appropriate -19 C for freezer and 1 C for refrigerator. However , it had silently stopped cooling for a week or so . Thermistor must have some issue that it did not report temperature rising , we only noticed it when we opened the ice cream that it had started melting , then I bought thermometer and measured the temp it was in fact -5 C for freezer and 5 C for refrigerator. We caught it in time but we along with my infant may have consumed spoiled food already , he threw up for 2 days and we couldn’t say exactly what was wrong, this could explain.

    The product, in the report: Samsung refrigerator Model RF28JBEDBSG UPC 07Y743BHA00534L has had multiple issues with temperature and ice maker Finally in Summer 2020 the temperature of refrigerator was not cooling causing food loss, and ice maker froze and stopped making ice. Called my home warranty company [REDACTED] who sent repair person that could not fix the temperature of fridge as the doors were not sealing correctly, he could not fix the ice maker and they ended up sending another technician to fix the doors to the fridge to allow for fridge to cool. He looked at icemaker and mentioned that it is a constant issue that even after repair re-occurs and is defective. Ice maker has now frozen solid and ice is bulging out of the front, and has stopped making ice over 2 months now. There is constant water leaking from water dispenser when not in use. I have reached out to Samsung and get no response from them and just want this resolved. Icemaker has not worked in over 3 months. Samsung contacted me in March after complaint filed with BBB and since then the assigned rep has dragged on resolution since then. I could not provide one invoice and since then It’s been weeks at a time to get response. Meanwhile refrigerator is still not working.

    I originally contacted Samsung about the issue of our refrigerator section freezing items due to the frozen over ice maker on 12/09/2020. They said these were 2 separate issues (which I’ve since found to not be true) and could only create a ticket and come out for 1 issue. Since the freezing issue was most important they came out to “fix” that on 12/16 and had to come back on 12/19 to “fix” the exact same issue again plus the ice maker this time. The 2nd fix lasted exactly 100 days, just out of their repair warranty so we had to turn the ice maker off to see if it would resolve the refrigerator freezing issue. It only helped until June 1st, when we woke up to a fridge full of frozen and cracked items. I’ve contacted Samsung again because this is the third (fourth) time their product has failed for the same issue and they keep bouncing me around to different people, saying there’s nothing they can do other than offer another repair, which is not an option as they’ve repaired this issue twice and it keeps failing. My husband and child’s insulin (both Type 1 Diabetics, therefore insulin dependent) is stored in the refrigerator and was in there when we discovered items throughout the fridge were frozen solid. The temperatures ranged from 0-28 degrees Fahrenheit throughout different parts of the refrigerator, even though the temperature on the door was reading 40 degrees. Insulin should not be stored below 36 degrees. Our pharmacist said it is no longer safe to use if it was in those temperatures, so we have lost 15 insulin pens and Samsung is doing nothing to make this right.     I purchased a Samsung Twin Cooling Refrigerator 2015. Model # Rf28hmedbsr/AA. In March I noticed that my food was cold and my Milk and dairy products went bad. I checked the temperature control panel and it displayed 38 degrees. I bought a temperature gauge and the temperature inside the refrigerator was 48 degrees. I had to throw all my food away. The freezer stopped freezing and had to throw over $400.00 in food out. The cooling vents are iced over and stopped up with ice. In addition to all of this my ice maker doesn’t work, I called Samsung and they refused to send out a technician unless I paid for the diagnosis , labor, parts, and repair.

    Purchased Samsung Electronics Refrigerator model number RF4287HARS and it freezes up, ice maker stops working, makes a loud noise while running, won’t maintain safe temperatures for food storage, leaks water from underneath, has thick ice build-up under freezer drawer and the display has shorted out and stopped working. This unit is defective and a health and safety hazard. This began in December 2011 and is continuing to be a problem currently. I have repaired and replaced multiple parts and have since learned it was a known defective product by Samsung Electronics.

    Our display on samsung French door twin cooling fridge is reading 37 degrees, but the thermometer we bought to put inside the fridge to monitor it is reading 47 degrees. These temperatures are how food poisoning happen! There is water under the left crisper cooler and on the shelf above that everything gets soaking wet. We currently have our egg cartons there and they are falling apart from being wet. There is also a loud steady knocking noise coming from it as well. We have major ice buildup/blockage in the vents on the back of our refrigerator; The vents are completely covered and blocked. There is a design defect in this refrigerator as the coils gets frozen from ice buildup and it is not cooling the refrigerator to the proper temperature and the display is misleading and not letting us consumers know the food may be bad to eat as it is too warm in the refrigerator.

    My Samsung refrigerator Model: RF30HBEDBSR/AA S/N: 06P043BH100040W was purchased on 2016 and has been repair for the ice maker twice which is a known defect after repair the refrigerator has not hold safe temperature inside, the temperature is higher than the temperature display on the digital panel. Currently reading 41° instead of 37° .The middle drawer also has a higher temperature than what is displaying, currently reading 41° instead of 33° which is what is set up. Myself and both of my two kids have gotten food poisoning from the food inside our refrigerator. The ice maker freezes up, and that causes the evaporator in the back panel to not work properly, this is a known defect that Samsung is aware since 2007 per their service bulletins. They continue to sell defective units and also when you call to get service they want for consumers to pay for repairs that they are aware can’t be fixed.

    This is regarding our Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator (Model # RF23R6201SR). We bought it in 2019 (1 year and 9 months ago) at Costco. This morning, it made a loud screech and pop, then white smoke came out around the edge of the dispenser, and the bottom of the door (beneath the water/ice dispenser) is slightly bulging out. The smell of smoke permeated our entire house. We spent a few hours on the phone with Costco, Samsung, and Samsung’s repair service, Service Quick. They were not going to come out for three days, just to look at it. When I said I felt unsafe keeping it plugged in, due to a possible fire risk, but that I had no other refrigerator to keep my toddler’s milk and food cold and safe, they had no response. It is only when I posted all of this on Samsung’s [REDACTED] page, that they arranged for a repairman to come look at it tomorrow. I am anticipating that they will want to replace the door, which will take time to order. I hope this will be truly safe.

    This is in regard to my 2018, model RF23J9011SR/AA four door flex refrigerator that has a defective design flaw that thousands are experiencing where it continually freezes over because it is located the refrigerator compartment. This defect has caused the back of the fridge to freeze/leak and has caused our freezer compartments to fail. It is now spreading to the fridge compartment. Until our freezer started defrosting, we were unaware that all three compartments were keeping food at unsafe storage temperatures. The dedicated freezer compartment is set for -8, yet regularly keeps between 27 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The flex compartment is currently set to -8 and keeps between 21 and 42. The refrigerator compartment is set to 34 and keeps from 37 to 48. These temps fluctuate even when the doors have been closed for hours and the indoor air temps are cool and consistent (65 (nighttime) to 74 (daytime)). We purchased the extended warranty through Lowe’s and have spent over three hours on the phone with them, but they won’t fix the ice maker because it is a known defect, & won’t fix the compressor because it is still und manufactures warranty we spent over three hours on the phone with Samsung and they will not even send someone out because they claim they have no techs in the area they want us to pay for the repair and they claim they will reimburse us but they will not put it in writing this is their defect (ice maker), and their warranty issue (compressor), and we shouldn’t have to pay anything. We have filed a claim with the NJ BBB case number [REDACTED] and are awaiting a response/resolution. We have filed with the NYS Attorney General because we have seen in the community that Attorney Generals in several other states are taking action against Samsung’s deceitful and deceptive practices as they still sell and promote a defective product that has no lasting fix. In 2014, they issued a service bulletin addressing the ice maker issue, showing they were aware of the design defect, yet they continue to market and sell the same design to date.

    Purchased a Samsung 2-16-2016. Before it was a year old it started freezing up along the back inside the fridge also the top ice maker has never been able to be used because of freezing up. Water collects under the bottom crisper drawer. Sometimes the main freezer frosted up. Called a repair man the first year which I had to pay for and he said he couldn’t help me because it can’t be repaired it would just need defrosting. Took me 8 hours to totally defrost. After doing more research I found out if I defrosted done monthly I would not have to take everything out and take all day. Long story short I have been having to defrost almost daily and now I find out it’s not working at all. Refrigerator temperature ranges from 50-55 so now we can’t even use it because of food poisoning.

    I have a Samsung Refrigerator purchased for $1082.83 that has a design defect. The refrigerator compartment warms to unsafe temps of well over 50 degrees F even though the display at the top indicates the proper temperature. The Twin Cool unit at the back of the refrigerator ices over and prevents the fan from spinning, and freezes the panel so that it cannot be removed. Then water collects under the drawers and sometimes freezes to the bottom of the refrigerator. The only way to defrost it is to unplug it. This has happened 3 times so far and each time I have had to throw way most of the food. It is dangerous to health and safety. Once it was completely defrosted, I have tried to replace the drain assembly, the heating element, the sensors, all of which have failed to keep the problem from recurring a few months later. I would like a refund for the purchase price of $1082.83 plus 3 refrigerators full of food estimated at $300 each. I have filed a complaint with NJ BBB and , CA and NJ AG.

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Lowe’s on 04/21/2018, at a cost of $2699.00. The ice maker broke within a couple weeks, plus the temperature display shows the wrong internal temp, causing food to spoil. I have contacted Samsung 4-5 times, with no resolution. They refuse to send a repair tech out at their cost. This is a design defect, and they know it, it’s all over the internet. They have several service bulletins out in this issue. We have gone through all their troubleshooting suggestions, with no luck. They refuse to repair, refund, or replace.

    I have a Samsung French door, bottom freezer fridge with ice & water dispenser on the door. It is a well known fact as per their service bulletins from 07 - 19 that their ice maker design is defective. My ice maker has now been repaired 3 times. The first two I had repaired and paid for since I did not know this was a well known and wide spread problem. When I found out I contacted them and they sent out a repairman on 4/16/2021 who temporarily “fixed” it. However, what happened then is that the fridge stopped cooling under 55 degrees! I have a temp gage in the fridge and shows Temps between 55.7 and 58.9. I did not realize this at first until food started spoiling within a day or two and my insulin stopped working. I couldn’t understand why my sugar was so high & why the insulin would not bring it down. Then I noticed the fridge was not as cold as it used to be. I did contact them & the person I was talking to said another department had to handle that & that he was sending my file to them & they would call me. That was over a month ago & they do not return my calls. Now the ice maker stopped working again. I am 76 years old, an insulin dependent diabetic who must have a reliable refrigerator for my food & my medication. Spoiled food made me sick & my insulin has to be kept between 35 & 45, not 56. It is set to 34 degrees, but, doesn’t cool that low.

In January of 2020 our Samsung 4 door french door refrigerator condenser and fan began freezing up, making the refrigerator itself warm up to unsafe cooling temperatures (into the mid 50’s!) despite what the digital display showed, always stays at 37.     I have a Samsung french door refrigerator that shows a safe temperature on the outside display but in reality the fridge’s inside temperature is holding food at an unsafe range. I have biologic medicines in there right now that need to be refrigerated or they will expire. The fridge has been a problem from the first year of ownership with ice makers that freeze over and stop working and ice underneath the deli drawer. I was only recently been made aware that the fridge has had issues with holding temperatures and bought a thermometer to track this. That is how I have proof of the unsafe holding temperature. I am now worried that the tens of thousands spend on medications and doctors’ visits for family intestinal issues are a directly tied to this fridge’s defects. Not to mention that sensitive biologic medications were/are not being held at the proper temperature.

    My wife and I bought a Samsung refrigerator about 6 years ago, on May 16th 2021 I became very ill to the point of passing out and extreme weakness. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with food poising. The medical staff tried to track down the source by having me recall the food I had eaten over the past 24 hours. I recovered at home on May 17th and was not able to eat anything until the evening of May 18th. It was then it was discovered that our refrigerator felt warm inside. We placed an outdoor wireless thermometer in the refrigerator and found it was running at a temp of 55 degrees F, even though the fridge display showed the unit was set to 38 degrees. After some research I found the issue with the fridge, it had iced up and had caused stress fractures beside the cooling unit. I managed to get it working again by defrosting the ice build up but after 10 days it went down again, luckily I never removed the thermometer and was able to see the temp rising. Again I removed the inside back panel and it was iced up yet again, this time the ice filled the fan and I had to order a replacement fan. Early this morning it happened for the 3rd time, same temp rise and massive ice build up. At 1:00am I had to disassemble the fridge again before I lost yet another fridge full of food.

    My husband and I purchased the Samsung French Door refrigerator, model number RF428HARS, April 1, 2013 for $2,390.37. We thought we were buying a top-of-the-line unit. Little did we know this refrigerator had design defects which cause the ice maker to freeze up and not work, water leakage under the drawers and out onto the floor, and loud fan noise that stops when the doors are opened. According to Samsung’s Service Bulletin #A5C20140703001 dated 10/13/2015, this is caused by a defect in manufacturing which causes ice to form at the top of the evaporator and interfere with the fans operation. We have had to unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours to defrost the refrigerator and freezer many, many times which is a huge mess of water everywhere and the loss of food. The refrigerator also does not maintain a safe temperature level reaching 50 degress in some areas when set to 38 degrees on the control panel causing unsafe food and food loss. I am a member of a [REDACTED] group with more 56,000 members (and growing daily) who all have the same issues with this defective French Door Samsung design. There are 20 models in a class action lawsuit all with these same issues and there are no fixes. Samsung has been aware of this design defect for years but they are still selling them and give people the run around about refunds. Please check out the [REDACTED] group Samsung Refrigerator Recall U.S.A. Now This unit is out of warranty, but being as it was a defective design and cannot be fixed, I would like to be remibursed. We bought this refrigerator in good faith that the quality was as advertised but we have been very disappointed. People need to know about these high-priced defective and dangerous refrigerators.

I have had non stop issues with the ice maker freezing over. Water collecting beneath the flex drawer and dripping from the refrigerator on my hardwood floors. And now i have realized the actual temperature in the refrigerator is 50 degrees F when the temperature on the door says it is 34 degree F. Verified with thermometer in the refrigerator. There is no telling how long this has been this way This refrigerator is no longer just an inconvenience. It is a potential health hazard if food spoils and is eaten. This has probably even been happening and many stomach aches or diarrhea my family or I have suffered may be from spoiled food. Apparently this is a known issue with this model of Samsung refrigerator. It is a design defect. I would like a refund

    Samsung was contacted to replace a defective ice maker in one of their refrigerators. After the technician completed the replacement, the refrigerator is no longer able to maintain food-safe temperatures (40+ deg) even with the temperature set to 34 deg. At the manufacturer recommended 37 deg setting, the temperature raises to nearly 50 deg. Our family uses this as the main refrigeration system for our household. As a result of this issue, my son became ill and was diagnosed with e. coli by his pediatrician most likely by unknowingly consuming spoiled food.

    I have a Samsung refridgerator model RF25HMEDBSR/AA with a manufacture date of 10/2015, which conveyed with my home purchase in 2019. We have had problems with the ice maker and a few weeks ago started to hear loud noises like water trickling and loud motor sounds (like a jet engine taking off). I noticed water under the crisper drawers. Then I noticed that the food in the refrigerator did not feel as cold as it has before. I put a thermometer in the fridge and discovered it was 53 degrees. It is set at 38, and the digital display read 38. Anything above 40 degrees is not food safe. I did some internet research and found that this is a known defect with a Samsung service bulletin number ASC201407030001 dated 10/13/2015 acknowledging the issue that causes all the symptoms my fridge was having. I called Samsung, and was refused a repair on a defect they know about. I used the force defrost setting on the fridge based on guidence I found online and enough ice melted on the sensor that displays the temperature in the fridge to tell me that it was above 50 degrees all the time. A few days it was up to 60 degrees. I have a small child and cannot risk food poisoning because my refrigerator is unreliable in keeping food cold, its sole purpose!

    I have been having constant issues with my refrigerator I bought from Samsung in 2017 with the ice makers constantly freezing. I had it repaired once and then it broke and I got sick of calling them trying to get help so I let it sit for a long time without having an ice maker. I had it repaired again about a month ago and then they repaired it for a second time. After they “repaired” it I am now constantly having cooling issues with the fridge being in the high 40’s and staying there for long periods of time. I had to buy a bluetooth thermometer to prove this issue. This is a known defect with the product as MANY MANY others have the same issue and there is even a service bulletin for these issues. I called Samsung and they are refusing to fix this issue because they are claiming its not under warranty, even though its not a warranty issue because its a known issue. I want a refund on this fridge. I’m tired of dealing with it and having to throw food out which is a health issue.

I have been throwing food away for over a year, Samsung refuses to admit their is a problem and won’t create a ticket for service. This is a known defect. The rotten food has made everyone in my family sick . The fan freezes in the back then melts and leaks water into the front panel which accumulates under the drawers and then will freeze into a sheet of ice. The drawer handle has also recently broken off. The water has made it rusty and mold appear.

    Just recently I found out some disturbing news that we are not the only one’s suffering alone when it comes to dealing with Samsung refrigerator issues. We purchased the Samsung Rf25hmedbsr from us appliance back in Feb of 2015. It has been nothing but headaches ever since. It started with a leaking and freezing up ice maker, which then made us realize there’s not only problems with the ice maker but several issues with the unit itself. Back in 2017 a repairman stated that there was ice on the fresh air fan that is preventing our fridge from cooling properly. At the time the only solution was to unplug the fridge and let it thaw out. More importantly, we also discovered that the display on the fridge said it was 36 degrees on the inside, but we got a thermostat and learned that it actually ranges from 43-47 degrees in there. This has been going on for years! We have had moldy food and spoiled food since. My husband had food poisoning from spoiled milk. My kids have complained about stomach aches. Now it really makes me wonder if this issue has anything to do with our health. Over the years it has stayed that temperature, but we keep all milk and dairy products in the back-up fridge that we have so we can move all our food there when we need to thaw out the unit. I have called the Samsung 1-800 phone number several times over the years and to no avail it’s my problem and my money to correct and no guaranteed fix. This is just wrong! My fridge should do what it is designed to do, keep my food cold, keep my food from spoiling, and keep my food at a healthy temperature!  It does none of this!! It doesn’t even make ice! It is a design defect, it is a lemon, it is defective!!

    I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in December of 2015. About 2 years ago, we started having issues with the in-door ice maker. It freezes up and stops producing ice. Water drips from the ice maker down the fridge. We need to defrost the ice maker bi-weekly or the ice buildup causes the fan to stop. If the fan stops, the temperature of the fridge increases and food spoils. We’ve installed a second thermostat in the fridge as a backup. The door thermostat doesn’t read the correct temp and we are concerned about food poisoning. We’ve been dealing with these issues for years thinking it was an isolated issue. Recently I discovered that it’s a widespread issue affecting over 40,000 people. When you call samsung support, the first option on the phone tree is ice-maker issue. This is a defect that they are well aware of, yet they refuse to recall the refrigerators. Worse yet, they have been continuing to sell them for over 10 years. I’m aware that at least model years between 2006-2019 have this issue. When I contacted samsung about this last week, they offered to send someone to fix the icemaker. I’ve heard mixed results from others who have had this done. Most people indicate the fix didn’t last, but I agreed to have them do it because I want my fridge to work. They responded to me a few days later that they don’t have anyone in our area who will service a samsung fridge so instead, they will give me a partial refund of $892.53. That’s nice, but this is a 5 year old fridge that I paid almost $2,000 for. It should last on average 12-14 years according to my research. I cannot buy a new fridge for $892.53.

    We purchased a Samsung refrigerator for $2998.00 in July of 2016 and took delivery August 16, 2016. The first repair was October 27, 2016 as it was making unusual and loud noises. Next repair, technician out January 10, 2018 states freezing ice maker is not covered charged $85 for trip charge, replaced ice maker and kit February 13, 2018 for $260.00. We continued to have the same issues until ice maker stopped working all together in October 2020. Called Samsung they stated they would fix for free scheduled service for October 29,2020 they cancelled that day stating parts weren’t available. Serviced October 31, 2020 new motherboard, ice maker functional but not uniform ice. Started checking inside temperatures in March 2021, upper fridge is 42-44 degrees, lower fridge optional fridge/freezer registers at 48. Called Samsung tech told me she was unaware of issues with unit and I would need to have a service call scheduled outside of warranty and not covered. This is not a warranty issue, it is a known design flaw. I told her was a known defect, she stated she knew nothing about that. Asked to speak with a manager and after several minutes was told a case manager would call me in 2-3 days, oops sorry due to heavy consumer calls it would be 3-5 days. Again I asked to speak with a manager and was told it wouldn’t be helpful because they all were trained to say the same thing and it would be best for me to wait for case management to return my call.

The ice maker freezes up and leaks. It freezes and leaks which makes it frozen so you are unable to remove the ice tray without defrosting it. I defrost the ice maker with a steamer and thec ice maker works for less than a week then the ice bin is frozen shut again and the ice maker emits grinding and loud knocking sounds as huge chucks of frozen together ice cubes are now formed because of the leaking water within the ice maker. And now the inside refrigerator temperature is rising inside to over 40 degrees as measured electronically. Also the back of the unit where the “cooling system” fan is sounds like the fan is hitting ice buildup. I called and texted Samsung many times and they refuse to fix this defective unit. They say it is out of warranty but this is a known defect that thousands of consumers had complaints about since 2007 as seen by their own service bulletins and paid service calls, replacement of parts and refrigerators, and full and partial refunds and buybacks. I want either a buyback or a refund so I can buy a new refrigerator before my family gets sick or poisoned by food poisoning by food being unsafe because of this Samsung refrigerator.

    On September 18, 2017 I purchased the Samsung 4 piece 28 cu ft - 4 door Food Showcase Kitchen Suite in Black Stainless Steel from Costco for $7588.10 – the suite included the refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher.

    Due to continuous problems with the refrigerator, Samsung exchanged it with another of the same model, July, 2019 unfortunately with the same continuous, irritating problems as the first refrigerator needing the same repairs. (ice maker either isn’t working or when it does work, very little ice or bits of ice come shooting out and most concerning that the fridge/ freezer is not holding the correct temperatures and some of the food in the freezer had begun to defrost and refreeze.) This is most noticeably seen with fish, chicken and veal cutlets, ice cream, and bags of frozen fruit and veggies. Being these are the most obvious to detect, however the freezer is also filled with beef, pork, and larger cuts of chicken which are thicker and at first not easy to detect if the thawing process and refreezing process had begun but makes me uneasy about cooking these meats for myself or for my family when they come to visit which is often.

    My Samsung Refrigerator is unreliable refrigerator with the same never-ending problems.

    I have made many appointments and at first, told that my appliances are out of warranty…THEY ARE NOT – I have a 5 year extended warranty on the kitchen suite. The problem originally began shortly after installation… After a brief argument about this again the other day, I’m told that the ice maker repair will only be covered as a courtesy but the repair for the fluctuation of temperature in the fridge and freezer will not be covered. After several brief arguments and several phone calls later, I’m told, as a courtesy both repairs will be covered by Samsung. This is not acceptable since the same scenario has happened several times already.

    I am 70 years and live alone and several years ago updated my kitchen with new Samsung appliances. Trying to balance myself on a stool just to reach the icemaker and yank it out to clear the area or to reset the icemaker is extremely difficult and impossible at times depending on my physical condition. It’s ridiculous that this needs to get done at least once a week on a fairly new refrigerator. The concern that I have with the food inside the Samsung is most disturbing. From spoiled milk, to cheeses - dairy products in general in the fridge to thawed out food in the freezer is unsafe, unhealthy, and unacceptable from an almost $3000 appliance.

    We purchased a Samsung refrigerator in January 2016 (from Lowes). It worked fine until May 2019 at which point the the fan starting make a loud rattling noise for several days, after which the fridge stopped cooling effectively (temperature inside the fridge staying above 50F). I contacted Samsung Customer Service who sent someone (from Home Service Network) out to repair it on 5/31/19 at a cost of $296.74.

    Two months later the same issue happened again and again I contact Samsung who sent Home Service Network back at a cost of $80. Then in February 2020 the same thing started happening again (noise followed by lack of cooling) and so I had a local repair company [REDACTED] (who specialize in Samsung) come out to repair it. They came twice, once on 2/24/20 and again on 3/6/20 at a total cost of $280.

    Everything was fine until a few days ago when again the fridge started making a noise and now the temperature has gradually increased through the day today up to 50F. I contacted Samsung today by phone and they refused to offer any support other than another repair at my expense which I am not accepting. They kept saying that the unit was out of warranty but this is not a warranty issue it is a known defect.

    As noted above I am very aware from reading online that this is a well known defect with these fridges which many people have suffered with (there a [REDACTED] group called [REDACTED] with over 40,000 members offering support in relation to these defects). This is not a warranty issue, it is a design defect and a food safety issue. There are existing service bulletins for this very issue that have been put out by Samsung over the last few years and there is also a pending class action lawsuit covering this model.

    In summary, I am one of many people who have experienced food spoiling multiple times due to these unsafe and defective refrigerators.

    I’ve owned my refrigerator for less than a year. We purchased a new refrigerator when my daughter was prescribed a rescue seizure med that needed to be kept in the refrigerator to remain effective. The refrigerator we had came with our home and we were unsure as to it’s reliability. Two days ago, I woke up to water on the floor and a completely powerless appliance. I checked the breakers, the outlet, I even moved the refrigerator to another outlet that I was certain was working. Nothing. When I called and explained the urgency of our situation, that my child had LIFE SAVING rescue meds in the refrigerator, Samsung simply referred me to the service provider who responded with “your story is tragic but there no way we can get there to fix it until next week.” We ended up purchasing a mini fridge to hold my daughters medicine. All of our food, for a family of 7, our baby has to have a special kind of milk due to allergies that we have to purchase in bulk from a neighboring town 40 minutes away, gone. We are simply praying that the temperature in the fridge didn’t drop below safe levels for the medication because we can’t just “get another one” when it’s a controlled substance. Every single person I spoke with, seemed to be completely unconcerned with our “tragic” situation, OR they referred me to someone who also refused to help me. It makes me wonder, if a machine providing oxygen to a patient suddenly lost power, wouldn’t the manufacturer of that machine AND the provider be jumping over walls to get that person the oxygen they need to survive?? There’s absolutely no difference here. Had we been unable to purchase a mini fridge as a back method for storing this medication, and it had gone bad...my child had seizures lasting 3-7 minutes where she is WITHOUT OXYGEN. She stops breathing during the entire length of the seizure, the medication is to bring her out of the seizure before it results in DEATH!

    The product, in the report: Refrigerator has a manufacturing defect, as documented by thousands of people online. I want a refund, just as thousands of customers have received and it cannot be repaired (as seen on [REDACTED], forums and [REDACTED]). Warranty or not is irrelevant in this case. The problem is that there is frost build up everywhere in the fridge. It builds up in the icemaker (I don’t even have the ice maker plugged into the water supply). Also, there is ice build up behind the rear panel inside the fridge near the metal coils. There was a fan that was making a loud noise whenever the fan hit the frost, but it has built up so much that the fan has stopped working and the refrigerator is warm. There have been multiple instances of this online, and it can’t be fixed no matter how many technicians come by. It is a manufacturing defect that I want a refund for the refrigerator.     Samsung French-door refrigerator-technician came to replace a known defect to the ice maker. I’ve maker now works, but main refrigerator compartment had been as high as 62 and never lower than 48 since the technician left. Samsung is refusing to fix this problem unless I pay. I will have to dispose of all of my food and do not have a safely operational refrigerator.

    Samsung RFG297AARS 29 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator with Premium External Water and Ice Dispenser: This refrigerator is having temperature going above the recommended safe for the food stored in it. I puy in a blue tooth temperature monitor which documents this temperature rise. This is a known defect to samsung and I have reported to them along with the defective ice maker which leaks ands causes giant ice chucks in the ice bin and also freezes the ice bin so you cannot remove it without steaming the bin for hours before you can get access to it. The freeze up has happened 4 times already. This may have a effect on the temperature.
