    Caller stated that the refrigerator is defective, the temperature displayed is not the actual temperature in the unit which is a food safety issue. The ice maker does not work properly. She has contacted the company and they have not sent out any service technician for repairs, she has had to use outside repair technicians at her own expense.

    Hello, I purchased a Samsung French door fridge in 2014. Around summer of 2018 I began hearing a very loud noise coming from the fridge which I discovered was happening from the evaporator panel freezing up in the back of the fridge. I let the fridge defrost and the problem went away for a few weeks and came back again. Since that time I have had to defrost my fridge on a monthly basis if I am lucky. I have also noticed that over the last year the temperatures in the fridge and freezer are not what is shown on the door. My fridge is showing 34 degrees but the temperature inside using thermometer show 46 to 49 degrees Fahrenheit. The freezer shows-4 and the inside is around 18 to 20 degrees. These temperatures are certainly not safe. I do have ice build up inside the ice machine also. For a $2300 dollar fridge to have only lasted 4 years before all of these problems started is completely unacceptable. There are tens of thousands of people plagued with these defective fridges that are someone still being sold today.

    Came home to our food spoiled, everything seemed to be functioning normally, e.g. temp display normal, no power outages (all the digital clocks in the house were still set and nothing reported in the area), etc. Apparently Samsung refrigerators are known for having a design defect. Ours is model # rf24fsedbsr. Injuries probably could have occurred if the first thing we reached for wasn’t the milk, which was glaringly obvious that it had gone bad. We could have easily eaten something that had gone bad and not known until...

    We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator in May of 2017 that we have since found out has known design defects that show an inaccurate temperature reading on the display and is factory set to 42 degrees. Our food kept going bad, and I had no idea that this was this issue. I changed the temp to 35 degrees and since then the refrigerator has stopped cooling below 53 degrees even when we use the power cool function. We are told by the appliance repair company that if this is a problem with the seals, they will not be able to fix it. We also understand that this is a known design defect and is not a warranty issue.

    I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator model Samsung rf30hbedbsr in April of 2016 from my local Home Depot. I am having problems with the refrigerator not maintaining a safe temperature. The display shows a much lower temperature. But inside temperature is higher by at least 10-15 degrees. I noticed a pattern of food getting wasted earlier than they use to. I am aware that this is a problem with these Samsung refrigerators. There is no way that a refrigerator less than 6 years old should cause this type of problem for the consumer. I am also aware that there has been a class action suite filed regarding these units.

    My refrigerator is not keeping safe temperatures. I have it set at 35 degrees, and thermometers inside the fridge show 40-50 degree temps. I haven’t been able to keep any food safely in the fridge, and my family has experienced food poisoning given we were unaware of the temps before purchasing the thermometers. A repair done two days ago, by a service company referred by Samsung, has not resolved the issue. This is a 2015 fridge, however, one should expect their fridge not to fail after 6 years of use. The issue of the fridge not cooling properly is a known defect of Samsung fridges going back as far as 2006, part of a class action, that Samsung refuses to acknowledge or correct.

    Samsung refrigerator I have filed complaints with samsung, they sent out a technician to replace the defective ice maker, the service worker then told me other parts would need to be replaced, and that would still not fix it. After that the the inside temp has not dropped below 50 degrees, the indicator says it should be 37 degrees. I had to throw a weeks worth of groceries out for food safety. This isn’t a warranty issue but a design defect.

    We own a Samsung refrigerator that does not keep food at the correct temperature. The outside read is 10-15 degrees cooler than the inside of the refrigerator actually is. Apparently this is a design defect and my family has been eating spoiled food for the duration that we have owned the refrigerator. Explains a lot about some health issues we’ve been experiencing.

    We (family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids) own a Samsung fridge, model RF261BEAESR, that suffers from manufacturing defects-- that also affects thousands of other people and many other Samsung fridge models. The defect occurs due to the back wall/ice machine freezing over which in turn prohibits the fridge from cooling to a safe temperature. We recently had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food that spoiled because the fridge temperature was actually 15+ degrees warmer than the fridge door said it was. Thankfully no one in our family got sick and we were alerted to the temperature not being right because we had fish in there that spoiled and smelled so bad that it stunk up our entire house and fridge-- and is still lingering months later. Since then we have been unable to use our fridge for food because it continues to not cool to the proper food safe temperature and we are seeking resolution (refund) from Samsung for wide spread defective refrigerators.

    Samsung french door freezer temp stopped cooling. It is set to -2 but it is at 64 degrees. I contacted Samsung and they had me follow steps to try and fix it at home. I unplugged the unit, let it sit for a while, plugged it back in and set the temp. They said it should take up to 2 hours to get to desired temp, but the lowest temp it got to was 62 degrees. I noticed the freezer dropping in temp when our ice-cream was nearly liquid and the cardboard items were soggy. We ate some of the freezer items before we realized there was a problem. My 3 year old threw up, and I had an upset stomach and diarrhea (I am currently pregnant) . Samsung owners have been having many issues with the refrigerators. It is a known defect.

    Samsung refrigerator (Model RF28JBEDBSG/AA) does not maintain food-safe temperatures. The digital display shows the set temp of 35 degrees F, but the actual internal temp maintains at or around 43 degrees F. This is a design flaw in the refrigerator that produces an unsafe food storage environment. The safe zone for refrigerated foods is below 40 degrees F. We have noticed food spoils much quicker than it should but did not make the connection to unsafe temperatures in the refrigerator until we had a baby and started storing pumped breast milk in the refrigerator. We checked the temp of the stored breast milk to make sure it stayed within the temp range recommended by the CDC for safe storage. We fully realized the discrepancy between set/reported temperature in the refrigerator and the actual temperature on July 26th.

    The temperatures are now being monitored in my Samsung fridge due to food spoilage that has been happening. We started noticing the temperatures fluctuating 1 day after the 2nd & 3rd “repairs” took place on it. The temps in the fridge have been going all over the board going all the way up to almost 47 degrees. We noticed many times, this happens while we are asleep when noone is using it. We no longer keep frozen food in the freezer due to those fluctuations. We had to report to using our old chest freezer.     Samsung refrigerator model RF24FSEDBSR, bought in 10/2014. Have had nothing but problems since purchased. Ice maker quit working. Back panel freezes up. Water pools under crisper drawers. The door panel temperature is not what the inside temperature is, theres a 10-15 degree difference. The inside temperature is much warmer than safe temps, 42+°, I have lost hundreds of dollars on spoiled food due to unsafe refrigeration. Mold was found in the ice buildup and along the bottom seams under the crisper drawers. We have had recent stomach issues just prior to discovering the mold. And I clean inside the refrigerator regularly! Samsung is aware of the defects, yet will not acknowledge them or fix them properly. Our health is in jeopardy due to their defective refrigerator!

    On January 2020, my Samsung refrigerator began having issues with not only the ice maker but the evaporator fan rubbing against the excessive icing that was building up on the back of my fridge. I called Samsung Customer Service and they sent out a repair man to replace the Main Control Board which cost me a total of $953, 2 weeks later the problem is still occuring, I called back Samsung and they sent another repair man to take a look, the repair man told me that this issue should not still be continuing and that these models have defects with issues relating to the temperature with excessive icing and cooling fan issues. they said there was nothing they can do, I called Samsung and they refuse to assist me with my problem. I filed a complaint with the NJ BBB and Samsung is still proclaiming that they can not help me with my defective refrigerator even though I mentioned there is an existing class action lawsuit with people incurring the same issues/problems. Till today, my refrigerator temperature is dropping and spoiling food in my refrigerator which has caused bacteria growth on meats, veggies, fish. I need assistance with a refund compensation for a defective refrigerator which I initially paid a little over $2K

    In my situation. I have recurring issues with the Samsung fridge sealed system leaking highly inflammable and potentially hazardous R-600A Isobutane gas (for reference: attached are the danger labels from back of the fridge and data sheet attached). Samsung has tried multiple repair visits in the past to fix the issue and it’s recurring again this month (Aug 2021). It’s difficult to breathe in the kitchen with this fridge/gas. With this ongoing safety issue and the multiple failed repairs, I had requested Samsung for a refund under the Moss Warranty Act (the sealed system is still under the 5 year warranty). It’s been more than 10 days now that Samsung support is giving me the run around on the refund request. They keep forwarding me to multiple departments (Level 1 Support, Support Supervisor, Product Liability, Case Management, Special Claims, Corporate etc) and somehow they claim they have no notes from the previous customer support agents e.g. one agent confirmed he submitted the refund request while others claim they don’t see it - even though all this was on a recorded line.

I have a NSF certified thermometer and the reading is always at least 10 degrees higher than what it’s set at making everything in my fridge unsafe to consume. We have frosted coils, ice maker doesn’t work, excessive fan noises, unsafe temperature reading and have had flooding floors. I’ve replaced the water filter multiple times and that’s no help. I’ve defrosted multiple times, but it doesn’t help. I can’t afford to keep replacing parts, food, and most importantly everything my daughter needs to keep her as healthy as I possibly can. I’m more concerned about the temperature being accurate then having ice, but it just adds to all the issues this refrigerator has.     I have a Samsung refrigerator, purchased in 2014, model RF28HMEDBSR. I filed a BBB complaint due to failed ice maker and constantly freezing over of evaporator. They refuse to acknowledge any issue with the evaporator, but apparently have an extended warranty program for the ice maker. Today, they sent a service company to replace the ice maker and the control board for the refrigerator. Prior to the repair, my temps in the fridge were consistently between 40-42 degrees, now the have struggled to get to 45 and I have seen the thermometer near 65. This is clearly unsafe and a breeding ground for bacteria. I will be contacting them again and likely filing another BBB complaint. However, you need to be aware this is not an isolated incident. There is an Internet community of tens if thousands of people having the same problem. Countless local news channel exposes have been done about this. I have gone from having no ice maker and having to manually defrost my refrigerator one to two times a month to today now having a bacteria breeding ground in my kitchen. I suspect they have solved a freezing over ice maker problem by coming out with a new control board that makes the refrigerator too warm. The ice maker is in the refrigerator compartment p, not the freezer compartment. They are apparently willing to expose people to risk of food poisoning to solve a freezing over ice maker.

    My Samsung refrigerated has had issues since 2 years. The ice maker has no ice, slushy ice, gunk in my ice, dripping water etc. I can survive with that. However the bigger problem is the refrigerator not cooling. I did not realize that was the case because the display temperature outside was showing much lower than the actual temperature inside the fridge. My food was rotting at warm temps closer to 60 F. My family has been having unsafe food for who knows how long. I realized food was spoiling way too often and my kids almost had food poisoning. I have had multiple repairs for the cooling issue but the issue keeps re-occurring making me wonder each time if my food is safe to eat. I have now installed a thermometer inside my fridge so I am aware if the temps are warm again. It has been an unpleasant experience trying to ask Samsung for a refund as both of these issues are known defects as per their own Service bulletins. They insist on sending technicians to repair again and again and will not acknowledge repairs for cooling issues. We had an ice maker repair from them which only made matters worse. I have no ice and my refrigerator is at even higher temps now and my freezer is also not cooling anymore. I have had to throw out food on multiple occasions from the fridge and also the freezer. I have been fighting a full refund and don’t get anywhere with it. There is an [REDACTED] group of 75,000 people ([REDACTED]) and counting. Customers have received refund to the tune of 7.3 million dollars in the past 25 months and they deny defects their own service bulletins prove. They are fraudulently selling refrigerators that have defects proven since 2006. People are getting sick daily by temps inside being different than the readout., even fires and house flooding.

    I have a Samsung Refrigerator, Model RF30HBEDBSR, purchased in late 2014. The refrigerator suffers from multiple design defects, some of which cause potential dangers to consumers. The ice maker is defectively designed. After multiple prior attempted repairs, I had the ice maker completely replaced, at a cost exceeding $800, in 2019. More recently, I discovered another design defect, as a result of which the refrigerator compartment temperature appearing on the display panel on the front of the refrigerator did not accurately reflect the actual temperature inside the refrigerator. The display showed a temperature of 34 degrees. The actual temperature, measured with a thermometer, was 57 degrees. We had food spoilage over a period of several days, resulting in illness to members of our household, and the spoilage and loss of hundreds of dollars worth of food. Today, we had a repair technician to our home and he determined that the fan was not working. He removed a panel on the interior of the unit, at which point he found a red electrical supply wire to the fan that was hanging loose, apparently broken. This was in an area of the fridge that is covered by a plastic panel and not accessible, meaning that the broken wire could not have resulted from one of us bumping it, etc. The broken wire hanging in the fan compartment apparently had sparked on one or more occasions, as there were brown burn marks on the back side of the panel. The broken wire and defective fan not only caused food borne illness, but also created risks of fire or, presumably, electrocution. I will be pursuing a refund for my entire purchase price from Samsung, based upon the clear defects in the design and/or assembly of the refrigerator.

    Our Samsung 26 cu. ft. 3-Door French Door Refrigerator with CoolSelect Pantry™ in Stainless Steel Model Number: RF26J7500SR/AA has issues staying cold and the internal temp has risen to 55 degrees in a unit set to 37. This is while the front panel displayed a temperature of 37 degrees so we did not know initially. This is unsafe food temperatures. I have contacted Samsung about the issue and they say it is not an issue people have had before. However, I am reporting this because there are a lot of people who have experienced the same issues. Food safety is very important to ensure people do not get sick and the company refuses to recognize the defect. Fortunately, nobody in my house got sick, but with the high temperature and incorrect display, this easily could have happened. The fridge is used by my whole family, including my young child. This happened at the end of June with the temps, but we have had issues with the back freezing over in the past, which is what seemed to cause it since it couldn’t stay cool.

    We bought a brand new Samsung Refrigerator in 2017 (model #: RF24FSEDBSR/AA) from Home Depot which had ice-maker issues right from the start. It freezes over and spills water everywhere in and outside the fridge. Moreover, the temperature inside the fridge section remains low. Have called, and paid for, technicians through my home warranty company multiple times, as well as directly through Samsung 3 times. This model and 19 other models of Samsung refrigerators (since 2016) are under a Class Action Lawsuit. Yet Samsung is not ready to accept its faulty design and continues to sell their refrigerators and rip off thousands of people of their hard earned money. Gullible consumers are being offered prorated refunds by Samsung once they file with NJBBB, and that is unfair practice when the fridge never worked as it is advertised to right from the start.

Although the screen of the fridge displays “37 degrees”, the actual temperature inside the refrigerator as recorded by an appliance thermometer is 49 degrees and above. Unfortunately, these unsafe temperatures were only discovered after several bouts of food poisoning for all family members at the same time and discovering hundreds of dollars of spoiled food due to these higher temperatures. Geek Squad is refusing to repair this design defect under the extended warranty.

    Purchased a Samsung RF323TEDBWW 4/23/2013. French door style with dual ice makers. The door ice maker never worked well producing little and odd shaped ice. In 2019 the refrigerator make terrible noises from fan hitting ice buildup on evaporator. Ice sheet under crisper drawer and not cooling. Dissembled shelving inside refrigerator to remove back panel and found ice encasing evaporator and fan. Unthawed. Occurred 6 more times before called repairman. [REDACTED] search few certificated Samsung repairman and numbers wrong or bad reviews. Called other companies and many refuse to work on Samsung. Found one and we had to order the Samsung parts. Repaired by professional August 26, 2020 but did not fix and has occurred several more times. Placed thermometer in frig August of 2020 and have watched temperatures go from 32 degrees to 50 degrees. Yesterday in seven hours temperature move from 33 to 50. Samsung Service Bullentin ASC20140703001 from July of 2014 addresses ice formation, leak under crisper and fan blockage. Samsung has known about this dangerous situation posing hazardous consequences to the health of consumers who unknowing consume spoiled food, have the integrity of medicines compromised or the week budget of food destroyed from a product incapable of maintaining a constant food safe temperature due to a defective design that hinders the operation of key components to the refrigeration process.

    The ice maker on my Samsung refrigerator hasn’t worked properly for years. Samsung sent a repair tech out to fix it June 12, 2021, and now the refrigerator temperature is usually 42-48 degrees, although the display says it’s 36 (I have a separate thermometer inside the fridge). I want to report this because Samsung has known design flaws and they don’t take responsibility for them. I contacted them today about the unacceptable temperatures and they say I have to pay for the repair. We have two little grandsons living with us and they drink a lot of milk, plus my husband is diabetic and his insulin has to be refrigerated. The temperatures in our refrigerator aren’t safe.

    I purchased a Samsung 22.6 cu. ft. 4-Door French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Counter Depth Model# RF24FSEDBSR on Nov 28,2015. I have had non stop issues with the ice maker freezing over. Water collecting beneath the flex drawer and dripping from the refrigerator on and damaging my hardwood floors. The last major issues was we learned the actual temperature in the refrigerator was 50 degrees F when the temperature on the door says it is 34 degree F. Verified with thermometer in the refrigerator. We filled a previous complaint, and Samsung sent a repair agent. The repair agent replaced components, but all the problems still persist. We have tried reaching out to Samsung again, but they are not returning our messages. While the ice maker and water leaking are annoying the temperature issues are a real health hazard for me and my family. This model Samsung has an inherent design flaw that cannot be repaired. I would like a refund for the safety of myself and my family.

    I reported to the BBB and Samsung refused to do anything to fix the issue knowing that it’s a design defect. Myself and my roommate are using the refrigerator.     My $2300 Samsung Twin Cooling french door B refrigerator suffers from a defect. The items in the fridge cooling panel (evaporator, tubing, sensors, fan etc.) become covered in ice and prevent the fan from blowing cold air into the refrigerator space. The warning that this defect is occurring is not that the temperature indicator on the door changes, but instead that the fan begins to hit ice and make a clicking noise. Then the fan stops once the ice becomes too much of an obstacle and the fridge is not cooling properly. When the fan stops, the noise and “canary in the coal mine” ceases. Sometimes the fan clicking only lasts overnight, so a consumer may think the problem has gone away or miss the “alarm” altogether. The fridge still says it’s 37 degrees when in reality the temperature is increasing or fluctuating.

    It is a health hazard, has resulted in rotten produce and food, and is a well-known defect. There is no guaranteed fix, and on my call to Samsung they claimed that (1) there were no service bulletins on this issue and (2) there are no known complaints about this issue. This despite the fact that (1) there are service bulletins ans (2) thousands of people complain about this issue in a [REDACTED] group.

    Samsung’s refusal to recall this product and compensate owners is putting food, medicine, and people at risk.

    We have a Samsung french door refrigerator purchases in 2016. since we have owned it and up until present (7/11/21)The ice maker freezers over, the back panel of the fridge freezes over; water starts to pool (from panel condensation that is unable to drain bc the drain is frozen over) underneath the drawers. a sheet of ice has to be removed every few days. temps in the refrigerator increase to unsafe levels because the compressor appears to be frozen and cannot keep up. We have used several thermometers to verify the unsafe temps- averaging above 46 degrees each time. wa have had to throw out spoiled food over the last several years. We have likely been sick due to eating foods that cannot be stored at the correct temperature. Samsung is aware of the problem- and currently in a class action law suit over it. they have sent out service bulletins (admitting there is an issue) it is a design defect of which they are aware. there is also no fix for the problem and they keep selling multiple products with the same issues. they send out service tech who are all unable to resolve the problems. this has been featured on multiple media outlets and a simple online search will elucidate the extent to which this problem has been allowed to continue.

From the time we had it delivered it made horrible noise even though we do not have an ice machine. It progressed to not keeping our food as cold as it was set. Then we started noticing that ice was forming on the back console an was coming out of the holes in the back. Then their is ice that is forming under the deli tray. We have defrosted it time after time and it just will freeze back up. Right now, today July 9, 2021 the temperature on the inside is 45 degrees although it is set on 34 degrees. It is not keeping our food refrigerated enough to be safely eaten and we have lost alot of food do this continuing defect. I have called Samsung multiple times and done what I can. But I need a new refrigerator but this one cost us $1298 and we need to have Samsung own that it is a defect and replace or reimburse for the cost. I will never buy Samsung appliances ever!

    We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator in June of 2015. We’ve paid for one repair, which didn’t last, then we had to call for the same repairs four (4) more time over the course of 6 years. Samsung Customer Care used to ask us to go to the garage and throw the breakers to see if the fridge re-sets itself! After a couple of years of doing all of THAT, we decided enough is enough! - this is a defective refrigerator (Samsung knows this!) and we want our money back. This refrigerator was NOT designed properly and it’s a defect in product. My husband is a cancer patient suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. Because of his compromised health issues, he is at high risk for e-coli, botulism from eating spoiled food. We are seeking a refund of $2598.00. I’ve had many, many conversations with Samsung Care and their “case management” people. They insist on giving us free repairs or a pro-rated refund. Yesterday, they offered us only $800.00. This reeks of Predatory Business Practices! After 5 repairs for the same issue, it’s a LEMON!

    i own a samsung refrigerator, model rf26hfendsr/aa, i have had this for 5 years, it has had several issues over the last 3 years, most recently with the twin cooling panels freezing, and leaking water in my fridge. my fridge says it is 37 degrees, however our fresh fruit doesn’t last a week in the fridge, i have sour cream that has a 7/31 expiration date and it is covered in mold, i have a greek yogurt with a 7/21 exp date that again is covered in mold, i have strawberries purchased on 7/3 and they are covered in mold, our milk is almost luke warm. i have purchased a thermometer to sit in my fridge to get the actual temps, it says 41 degrees. i have tried to contact samsung to have this fixed and they are not willing to help. they continue to state my fridge is out of warranty even though this is a design defect. i think multiple people should be aware of this problem.

    Fridge front panel read -2 and 35 degrees, indicating the temperature inside. User manual states if the temp goes above the set temp the panel will being to blink and warn the consumer of the unsafe temp. This did not happen. The fridge remained reading -2 and 35, but when a thermometer was placed inside, after spoiled food was consumed, the thermometer read 35 and 50. In the following days the panel continued to read negative temperatures for the freezer and 35 for the fridge, but the thermometers in the fridge were reading above 45. Panel alarm never showed the temp was rising.

    On November 16, 2013 we purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Lowe’s Apex, NC (store #0187) for $1,595.91. Model number RFG298HDRS/XAA. This particular model is a 28.5-cu ft French door refrigerator with Dual Ice Maker in stainless steel and has an energy star rating. The refrigerator began making a horrible noise, leaking water, not staying cool, and had ice building up in the back. We called Samsung and they scheduled repairs to be made to our refrigerator. Between April and August of 2017 we had 11 repairs, or rescheduled repairs, for our Samsung refrigerator. All of these repairs were scheduled through calling Samsung, or by the Samsung authorized technicians while they were at our house for further repairs because they were unable to repair the problem. (April 17, April 25, May 11, May 19, June 8, June 15, June 28, July 11, July 12, August 5, August 22.) Our Samsung refrigerator is now doing the same thing again, along with the upper icemaker has stopped working. We have lost hundreds of dollars’ worth of food, and thousands of dollars’ worth of medication because the refrigerator does not keep its temperature. My husband relies on his diabetic medication, and it became cloudy and no longer effective when kept in the refrigerator. This was an extremely dangerous situation! That, along with our family eating foods not being kept at safe temperatures is negligent on Samsung. Samsung has known about this defect in their product. There are several lawsuits against Samsung regarding this exact issue. This is a defect issue and Samsung needs to fix this issue.

    The product, in the report: Samsung Refrigerator Model Number: RF28HDEDBSR

    Samsung Refrigerator: model no: rRF28HDEDBSR. I got this refrigerator just back in 2015 and every since it has caused a big problem in my house. The temperatures have risen to 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the fridge. This caused all my foods to spoil and let my father get food poisoning.
