The product, in the report: SAMSUNG French Door. Black. Rf263TE. RF263BE. REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER. Model RF263BEAEBC/AA

2014, I proudly purchased a Samsung, 3 door refrigerator. It was beautiful..... 6 months in the icemake started to freeze over.. we’d get it going again. Maybe 4 months it’s like the doors just didn’t seem to close properly, and quickly started to walk into the kitchen water ALL over the floor. From that date in late 2015 to present we have to keep huge bath towels in the refrigerator, all around the outside as water is always pooling inside and drains outside. I can’t tell you how many gallons of milk, juice we tossed because the temp is 42-50ish.... The many cans of biscuits that have burst. Lunch meat, condiments, etc.... Recently a Samsung repair guy came to my home, only repaired ice maker which already sounds suspect. He did look over the refrigerator and said it will cost over $900 to repair. It’s not fair that I was solda known defective refrigerator. I had to purchase a freezer two weeks ago as the freezer looked as if it had snowed in it, then it no longer would freeze. I have more towels inside that fridge than food. The long vegetable tray sits on my counter for almost two years, the water, and huge sheets of ice gets under it. Sad.

The product, in the report: Samsung Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator model

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (model RF28HMEDBSR) on 11/17/2014. At that time our boys were ages 6 and 8 years old. Within 6 months of purchase the condenser coils inside the back of the unit began to freeze up periodically. The internal temperature would increase and result in food spoilage. This got more frequent as time went on and warranted me throwing out food and defrosting the unit manually every 4-6 weeks since. While I had seen other complaints on social media etc talk about the same problem, I wasn’t aware of the fact that there was an actual defect with the unit until just recently. While thankfully there were no illnesses incurred by anyone in our family, there absolutely could have been. In addition, The temperature inside the unit has been much higher than what the actual temperature is set too, currently the disparity is 11 degrees.

My wife and I purchased a home in early 2019 which included a Samsung refrigerator. On October 25, 2019, the fridge would not hold a temperature, and we ended up throwing out all the perishable food. We had the thermostat replaced via Samsung, repair order [REDACTED]. Less than a year later, the fridge again has lost temperature (interior of the fridge is currently 64.7 degrees Fahrenheit), and today (10/2/2020) have again thrown away all perishable food. We have an open ticket with Samsung ([REDACTED]) to get the thermostat fixed, less than a year later.

RE: Samsung French Door Refrigerator, Model# RF23HSESBSR/AA, S/N# 06QE43BG700125H, purchased from Sears on 12/23/15 for $2,480.84

Starting in January 2019 (after my 3 year extended warranty expired, we started having icing issues. We would have to manually defrost the unit about one every 3 months. Then starting January 2020, we have had to manually defrost the ice cube compartment and back panel of the fridge every 2-3 weeks due to ice buildup in both the ice maker compartment AND the back panel cover, which caused loud fan and warm temperature readings, leading to MAJOR food safety issues. Our food would get spoiled very quickly and had to be discarded. On May 14th, we had had enough. We called Samsung Service and scheduled thru them [REDACTED] out on June 2 to take a look at the fridge. Samsung declined to pay for the service call or parts due to the unit being out of warranty, even though they KNOW that they have a known defect (service bulletin ASC20170602002 is one). I felt we had no option but to pay for the call. [REDACTED] said the two problems we had were unrelated, and he separated the copper coils hoping that would fix the issue, but he said if it didn’t fix the freezing problem, then we would need to replace two part numbers we needed to “repair” the problem. We decided to get the parts from [REDACTED] and do the repair ourselves.

May 14, service call: $129.00 (service tech left us silicone and we did the work ourselves) June 13, purchased and installed Ice maker assy, $163.61 Sep 3, purchased and installed back cover, $128.24 Food spoilage both times, estimated $300.00 Out-of-pocket costs totalling: $720.85

The product, in the report: Samsung Freestanding French Door Refrigerator Model RF263BEAESG

I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator, model number RF263BEAESG/AA, from Best Buy in early 2016. A couple months ago it began to freeze up in the ice compartment. In the last few weeks, although I did not have knowledge at first, the refrigerator has not been keeping a constant safe temperature. I purchased a thermometer with sensors to keep track and found that it was keeping steady temperature at between a unsafe 55-58 degrees, no matter what I set the refrigerator temperature. Due to this uncertainty of temperature, and uncertainty of the safety of contents, we have lost hundreds of dollars of food items and 6 boxes of diabetic insulin. I have become aware that this is a ongoing, known issue of this Samsung model just they do not have a recall on it. These are very unsafe products as consumers could quite possible suffer medical issues due to the fluctuations in unsafe temperatures. If my husband had used the insulin, it is a possibility he could have suffered severe medical issues.

The product, in the report: Samsung Side by Side Counter Depth Refridgerator Model RS22HDHPNSR

I purchased a Samsung side by side counter depth refrigerator at the end of June 2015 from a store called HH Gregg. We started to wonder if this unit was cooling properly because we were having stomach issues, so I purchased 3 thermometers to place inside of the fridge and another one inside our freezer. The outside door panel was set at 34 degrees, which is the lowest I could set it at. I set the freezer at 0 degrees and sometimes it is around 10 degrees. My fridge’s inside temperatures register in the 40 and 50 degree range and then drop back into the upper 30’s. It does this all day. I am concerned about things going bad and have noticed certain foods are spoiling or going bad before their expiration dates.

I filed with the New Jersey BBB and the New Jersey Attorney General in Feb. 2020. A lady named [REDACTED], from Samsung’s Office of the President, then contacted me shortly after. Samsung sent out [REDACTED] at the end of Feb. 2020 to attempt to repair this refrigerator. First repair visit: the repair guy told me it was a sealed system issue and another repair guy would be out the fix on another day.

Second Repair visit: Another repair guy came out and said all he needs to do is vacuum the condenser and blow it out. (The repair guy showed me what he did and how to do this.) This unit has this condenser located underneath, since it is a counter depth fridge. I also asked the guy why my ice cubes freeze together in the ice bucket. He said he would order a part and be back on another day.

Third repair visit: The second repair guy returned and replaced part on the outside of the freezer door ice dispenser. I guess the outside dispenser on the freezer door was not sealing, warm air was then allowed to enter the ice bucket, melt ice cubes which would then freeze together.

Now It is July 28, 2020 and I my inside fridge temperatures are still in the 40’s and 50’s. She asked me to send her a photo of my sales receipt, so I did and she confirmed receiving it.

Emailed [REDACTED] multiple times. Finally, on August 28th she emails me and tells me she does not have my receipt on file, so I email her a copy of my sales receipt again.

I have emailed her multiple times and she will not respond at all. I have since filed once again with the NJ BBB and NJ Attorney General. Have not heard anything from anyone.

Samsung has made thousands on these defective fridges which are not cooling food properly. They also have very poor customer support and seem to not want to be bothered by their defective products.

Their defective refrigerators are a health and safety risk.

The product, in the report: Samsung 4 door counter depth refrigerator (stainless steal) Model RF24FSEDBSR

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in late 2014 from Home Depot. The refrigerator is being used to keep food cold for my family of 5 in my home. The refrigerator has known defects that cause the back panel to freeze up which then raises the temperature inside the refrigerator without warning. The display on the front shows normal when inside it’s actually much higher. Samsung customer service tells me to blow dry the back electrical or use a steamer which is not safe. My children have had food poisoning due to the unsafe temperatures 3 times in the past 8 months. My refrigerator goes from 34 degrees to high 50’s overnight once the back panel starts freezing back up. This is a defect Samsung has known about since at least 2007 and continues selling these refrigerators without fixing the issue.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door refrigerator

I own 2 Samsung French Door refrigerators that have a defect which Samsung has known about since 2006. The many issues for these are malfunctioning ice makers, fans freezing up but the most concerning is the inability for them to cool properly. Samsung list the temperature 34 degrees on the outside panel but unsuspecting people, myself included believed that was what the interior temperature was before adding a separate thermometer inside.

I have talked with many people who have trusted the temperature and have risked serious food poisoning when the temperature goes over 40 degrees. These products of very dangerous and Samsung has been unwilling to do a recall.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door Refrigerator Modle RF28HDEDBSR/AA

I purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator in August 2014. I paid $1,899.99 for model RF28HDEDBSR/AA. In January of 2017, I reached out via chat and stated that my refrigerator was making a loud noise and I’d like to get the issue fixed. I was sent links on how to isolate the issue, but never had anyone come out because the repair would have been too costly at that time.

Also in 2017, the ice maker would CONTINUOUSLY freeze up. Once a week, we were clearing blocked ice just so the unit could start producing ice again. After almost a year of dealing with the ice issue, in 2018 we gave up and purchased a built in ice maker, separate of our refrigerator. The refrigerator no longer makes ice at all, and the bin is frozen in place.

In August of 2020, we went out of town for 4 days and came home to a refrigerator full of ruined food, because the temp INSIDE the refrigerator was almost 60 degrees. I didn’t bother even contacting Samsung because I would have been told the refrigerator was out of warranty (like I was also told in 2017), so I had a repair company come out. The evaporator fan motor was frozen in place and ice was coating the top of the evaporator. The ice was removed and the fan was replaced for a total of $243.80. Three weeks later, the refrigerator started making the loudest noise I’ve ever heard coming from an appliance. The noise would stop when we opened the door and then start back up again when the door closed. Shockingly, the fridge stopped cooling again and once again, I lost food. The company came back out and they noticed that the fan was frozen over AGAIN and water was pooling under the large crisper drawer. The draining drain was clogged. The ice was steamed out and the drains were cleared.

I STRONGLY urge anyone that’s looking for a refrigerator to NOT purchase a Samsung. All of these are KNOWN defects. [REDACTED]. I don’t have a lemon refrigerator. Samsung knowingly produces less than 100% quality appliances. These refrigerators are an investment and should last more than 3 years without issues arising.

I purchased a whole kitchen package in 2015. I did purchase the extended warranty that expired in July, 2020. Since I purchased the items I have had my refrigerator continuously spike in temperature multiple times, and have food spoil. My oven doesn’t heat up hot enough to safely cook food, and find myself baking items up to 2 hours longer than suggested and sometimes it still isn’t fully cooked. (yes I have ate undercooked food and have gotten sick from it). I have had all my times serviced multiple times, and now Samsung is stating that since my warranty is up they will no longer assist me. I have been told by repair men that this is an on going problem, and almost every call they take for Samsung products its the same problems that I am having

The product, in the report: Samsung Refrigerator Model RF28HFEDTSR/AA

We purchased a Samsung refrigerator, model # RF28HFEDTSR/AA, in late June 2016. We have had many problems with the fridge including both icemakers not working and not dispensing water or ice properly. While researching how to fix the fridge, We were alerted to the fact that the temperature display is inaccurate. We have had to throw away a lot of food before its expiration date. We assumed it was due to our local grocery store. After placing fridge thermometers and testing with an infrared thermometer it was clear that the fridge nor freezer did not cool properly. The fridge section varies from 38-56 degrees and the freezer section varies from -10 to 26 degrees. Several times the fridge section stopped cooling entirely due to ice on the fan. Samsung did send a repairman out who verified the fridge section was 42 degrees and the freezer was 26 degrees. The repairman did replace both icemakers, both temperature sensors, the water inlet valve/filter housing and the motherboard. In less than 4 days the fridge was 45 degrees. The temperature variances continue. Theses are known design defects. There are service bulletins concerning these problems that were issued before our refrigerator was manufactured. Even with brand new parts the refrigerator is unable to maintain temperatures that are safe for food i.e. less than 40 or 0 for fridge and freezer respectively. We really feel that these refrigerators should be recalled as there is no fix to make them safe for food storage

We purchased a Samsung French 4 door stainless steel refrigerator on 10/30/2015 for our new home. Model: RF28HMEDBSR/AA Serial: 065L43BG503572W

Since then we have had a multitude of issues. We have had the ice maker leek water, produce watery ice, ice jam up internally, as well as a frost layering the top of the ice maker unit that needs to be removed on a weekly basis. It is not safe for it to be necessary to remove ice chunks from the ice compartment by hand.

The thermometer is defective, fridge reads 35 degrees On the external display, but when the temperature is taken through thermal reading is in the the 60s. This is EXTREMELY dangerous to store milk, eggs, as well as medications in a refrigerator that does not provide accurate temperature readings. We found thawed food in the freezer in May 2020 even though the freezer stated that the temp was -4 degrees. All freezer food was ruined and over the next week the fridge temp rose as well. Ice maker no longer produces ice at all. The unit runs loudly. After unplugging for a week and then restarting, the freezer temp does not budge from room temperature of 70 degrees and fridge is only able to get to down to 64 degrees. My family has experienced nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, and excessive diarrhea for several months leading up to May 2020 when the fridge quit working completely. We are confident that this is due to the consumption of spoiled food. It was not apparent at first, but over time we realized that the milk etc did not feel very cold in the refrigerator. That is when we started taking the temps and recording the issues.

This is unsafe for food storage. I am filing this complaint against Samsung as this is a wide spread issue on many of their refrigerator models and they are knowingly continuing to sell defective and unsafe products. There is a group of over 28,000 customers with theses same issues including mold spores in refrigerators, medical & hospital stays due to mold.

I have contacted Samsung directly and have been lied by several reps telling me that “there are no known issues. Samsung has a blatant disregard to the safety of their customers. All affected Samsung refrigerators should have been recalled by now. Samsung has known about these manufacturing defects since 2006. There are service bulletins dating back to 2006. Samsung. I have come to the reputable [REDACTED] for assistance with this disappointing experience with Samsung.. Samsung is continuing to manufacture and sell defective products that do not work properly and are unsafe for consumers. I have high hopes that thAt [REDACTED] will issue an investigation and demand a product recall.

I have also requested refund of the full purchase price of this defective French door refrigerator, including ta and food loss from Samsung. Unfortunately, to date Samsung stands firm that their products are safe and they are there are no issues with their products, the biggest fraud ever! I do have accompanying receipt to show proof of purchase and model number. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator in September of 2017 and the freezer will not work (All of the food spoiled multiple times and will not stay frozen) and the ice maker portion will not work. This has been going on for quite some time and I have contacted Samsung multiple times. They have done troubleshooting and nothing worked and then told me I need to pay for repairs on a barely 3 year old refrigerator. This is a known problem with Samsung refrigerators (this model and potentially others) and they are refusing to recall the products. Numerous people have been issued refunds (which I found out via [REDACTED] and a group dedicated to providing information on how to deal with Samsung and their refusal to take action on this matter). This group has listed reporting to the safer products group as part of the process to eventually obtain a refund. Could you help hold Samsung responsible for fixing or refunding defective refrigerators?

I wanted to bring to your attention that I am adding my name to an ever-growing list of Samsung customers who have faulty defective refrigerators/freezers that Samsung continues to sell, not recalling and placing their customers at risk for food storage that is in unsafe temperature ranges. This is a known, documented, unfixable defect by Samsung that results in reaching unsafe temperature ranges for cold food storage. I have been without a stable and consistently-working refrigerator for my family for two months now. Due to covid times, I am waiting yet another month for a replacement of a different brand. That leaves a minimum of 3 months without cold food storage without a fair resolution from Samsung which I continue to pursue. Below is a more detailed summary that I have also submitted to NJ and PA Attorney General Offices and the NJ Better Business Bureau. Thank you so much for your time: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I have a defective Samsung French Door Refrigerator that has a well-known, widespread issue with freezing solid blocks of ice in the back panel coil, fan and sensor area. Additionally, unit loses correct temperature control and producing unsafe food storage due to fan not being to regulate temperature due to the frozen ice blocks in back panel area. Front panel display does not reflect the actual temperature inside. Water leaking into crisper trays that turn into sheets of ice. Countless hours on hold waiting for a live person to assist, eventually got through and they set up an appointment with [REDACTED]. Tech came out, replaced entire back panel and sensor, leak stopped, next day not maintaining safe temperatures. [REDACTED] would not return without another Samsung ticket and expects me to pay for the second visit out for this unresolved issue. Requested refund from [REDACTED] for non-fix and they refused. This is the company Samsung contracts with to fix their faulty refrigerators and it’s unethical to expect me to continue to pay for non-fixes all while Samsung refuses to acknowledge this issue that they are well aware. Refrigerator purchased 06/30/16, problems began 07/20/20 and continue until today 09/13/20. I have been without a reliable refrigerator for two months now. Forced to purchase a new one elsewhere, and due to covid times, will not be available for delivery for another 4 weeks. That makes 3 months without reliable cold food storage in my home for my family. Samsung is aware of this defect issue as referenced by their Service Bulletin ASC20171005001 dated 10/05/17 ~ Frost/Ice on Top of FF Evaporator, Water Under Crispers, French Door Dual Evaporator. These faulty refrigerators should have been recalled instead of continuing to take advantage of their customers as well as putting them at risk. Filed NJ Better Business Bureau complaint which prompted Samsung [REDACTED] (also may be known as [REDACTED] working for outsourced company [REDACTED]) to reach out. After my not accepting her offer of a free service visit, she offered a pro-rated refund amount for the refrigerator which indicates to me her acknowledgement of this defective issue with their refrigerators. My out of pocket expenses have totaled $2983.59, she offered me $990. I replied that I expected a full refund for a unit they cannot fix as well as $430 for previous service call (that Samsung arranged) for a non-fix as well as $375 for food loss. She refused and will not answer why I am offered a reduced prorated amount while I know for a fact others have received full refunds. I asked for her supervisor/manager contact info for escalation. She answered “you have reached the [REDACTED], there is no other contact information I can provide to you other than my own.” I am aware of the previous fine against Samsung/[REDACTED] by the NJ Attorney General in 2009 for these deceitful practices related to [REDACTED] (for Samsung) not providing their supervisor’s contact information, thereby breaching the agreement with the NJ Attorney General by not fully disclosing this information when I asked. I have filed a complaint with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office about this issue. Other customers have received full refunds. They discriminate regarding who will get a full refund, partial refund, a mere free service call or nothing at all, all in an attempt to wear you down and just go away. I am seeking assistance on full reimbursement as others have received. I can provide bill of sale receipt, service call receipt, photos, timeline and food loss itemizations. Thank you so much for your time.

The product, in the report: This is a chef series refridgerator with ice, water and soda water dispenser (broken) on outside of the left-hand door.

Samsung has been very challenging to work with over several years, asking for repairs then began asking for a refund of the product as it is defective. Shelves are cheap and break easily, the temperature noted on the front panel of the fridge is at least 15 degrees different than the internal temperature which can lead to bacteria colonizing in food. The ice maker is faulty and I believe no ice to be a safety concern in the heat of Dallas summers as well as the freezer compartment not freezing adequately. Twice now, the french doors have ‘stuck’ where they do not readily open. For an elder, this can mean going without food or falling back when the doors finally do open, losing one’s balance and falling. I have experienced damage to my hands due to the doors and shelving breaking, causing nerve damage to my hands.

The product, in the report: Stainless Steel French door refrigerator.

I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator in June of 2014, model #RF28HMEDSBR. After 6 months the ice maker stopped working. We had multiple issues with ice buildup very early on and Samsung did not address/fix the issue. We continued to have numerous issues with other components of the fridge including, seals, fans and now recently over the summer, the fridge is reading a temp of 34 degrees but in actuality- it’s 47 degrees. Food has continuously been getting spoiled after only a day. I have had 3 service calls in the last three months to fix the issue to no avail. My technician has contacted Samsung to request a refund since the product is clearly defective. In researching the issue it appears that this has been an ongoing issue that Samsung customers have been dealing with since 2006. It’s frustrating that Samsung has given me different answers depending on which representative I speak with.

I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator 7/13/14 from Best Buy and a few months later the back panel froze over causing the fan to break and the temperature of the fridge to rise between 50-60 degrees which is unsafe for food. We had to throw away spoiled food as it was making us sick. We had two services from samsung the first year that did not fix the problem. Every 4-6 weeks we have to unplug and thaw the fridge because the back panel was frozen over causing the temperature to rise again. On May 11, 2020 I paid a repairman to come fix the unit again as the temperature was looming at 60 degrees. He replaced the defrost sensor and drain tubes. This fixed the problem for a few weeks until it froze over again. Due to COVID I waited until 9/9/2020 to have another repair service come out because I was storing pumped breastmilk in the fridge for my newborn baby and it was spoiling because the temperature was unsafe inside the fridge making my baby sick. They found that the fridge was at an unsafe temperature due to a known manufacturing defect by Samsung causing the switching valve to leak and they could not repair because it would cause further damage to the system. This is a known defect in all Samsung refrigerators and they should take responsibility and discontinue selling any refrigerators with this system as it causes the internal temperature to be unsafe for food. There is a service bulletin from 2019 stating this defect in writing and they have yet to recall any of these refrigerators. Samsung MUST recall these immediately and refund customers.

The product, in the report: Samsung 4 door refrigerator Model Model# RF24FDRFBSRAA

We purchased this refrigerator in August 2013 and have had many many problems with it.

The ice maker, as you know and as listed all over the internet, does not work properly. It continually ices over and you either cannot get the ice maker open or the ice maker freezes inside. Either way it requires a service call to fix. We have had a service repair company out 6 times in just the last 3 months for the same exact issue. They have replaced the ice maker twice, the temperature gauges at least twice and the back panel once. In addition, each time they come out they have to take a steamer to “defrost” the back of the refrigerator behind the inside back panel and the ice maker. Then it works for a week and then freezes over again. At which time the ice maker stops working and the refrigerator fan starts making a terrible noise and stops cooling the refrigerator. The food does not cool food at a safe temperature. In fact, it doesn’t work at all anymore. The last service rep that was out stated in the Service comments that the problem in not repairable.

I am aware of a news article [REDACTED] in October 2019 in which customers were encouraged to contact customer support as “Samsung wanted to make sure all of their customers were completely satisfied with their Samsung product.” (See email attached) The woman in the news broadcast, who had the same exact issues as we have had and whose refrigerator was the same age as our refrigerator, was in fact offered a full refund after the news cast was aired. (Prior to the newscast shining a light on this Samsung was only offering her a partial refund)

We contacted your offices via email and were offered a partial refund of 974.69 (Same as the customer above) I refused that offer as we felt based on the facts that we should get a full refund. Once I refused that offer, the customer service representative stopped responding to any further emails.

The refrigerator has probably cost us more in service calls at this point, then the value of the refrigerator. Additionally, we have had hundreds of dollars in food loss due to the refrigerator not staying cold enough to safely cool food products. This product is defective and I would therefore like to ask for a full refund.

Our last repair was May 6, 2020. This repair has slowly failed and now in Aug the ice started to become soft/partially frozen, same with meats and other freezer items. Interior temps inside the refrigerator have continued to rise. We have thrown out much of our food and now waiting for Samsung to respond to our complaints.

I have it set at 34 degrees but it doesn’t reach that temperature. The temperature varies between 38-43 degrees constantly. I have had to throw out food because it goes bad sooner than it should. I am worried that my family and I may get food poisoning. I have also found plastic pieces from the ice maker in my cup on several occasions. I have been in contact with Samsung since last year and all they can tell me is that its out of warranty when they are aware that this is a known defect and not a warranty issue.

I called an authorized Samsung service repair company on December 28, 2016 because I discovered that this unit had the following problems: the rear panel freezes which causes water drainage in the bottom portion of the refrigerator; the ice maker freezes up and fails to work; the ice that builds up on the compressor hits against the fan which sounds like a lawnmower is running in our kitchen. The refrigerator has been serviced 14 times, most recently in April 2020. The ice unit is currently freezing up again and the temperature in the refrigerator is between 50 and 55 degrees fahrenheit since May 2020. A lot of food spoils. Samsung refuses to refund me the full amount for the refrigerator though it has a known defect and cannot be repaired.

We had given up on ever being able to use the ice maker so turned the ice maker off and purchased a counter top ice maker. I opened my refrigerator a last week and find soot on my shelves and a horrible chemical smell coming out of the refrigerator. After trying to figure out where it was coming from I slid the ice bucket out of the slot to find the ice maker had caught on fire and melted. All of my groceries are lost - the chemical smell is so strong you can’t use any of the food. I am currently getting the run around from Samsung - being hung up on. Telling me they’ve been trying to schedule a repair - but I have no missed calls or voice mails, etc. THESE REFRIGERATORS ARE DANGEROUS. THEY HAVE CAUSED MULTIPLE HOUSE FIRES. I SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO SELL THESE IN THE US. PEOPLE WILL DIE.

However the outside temperature reads what it is set at instead of the actual inside temp of unit, thus spoiling the whole load of food! Multiple calls to SAMSUNG has resulted in repair tickets that get cancelled the next day(without my knowledge) and no satisfaction to issues.

No injuries have been sustained. I have a 5 year old Samsung refrigerator that has never really worked properly. The trouble we had was with the ice maker, but after researching the issues on the internet, I saw some complaints that temps inside the fridge & freezer were frequently not low enough so I put thermometers inside to monitor mine. The freezer temp has been up to 10 degrees F and the fridge temp is regularly in the 45 degree F range. I would not have known without the thermometers as the display on the fridge consistently reads 0 & 37 degrees F for freezer and fridge respectively. According to what I’ve seen on the internet, this is a common problem with Samsung fridges. I think this may be a significant issue if medically fragile people are regularly eating foods that have been improperly stored in their Samsung fridge.

Prior to me putting my own thermometer inside the refrigerator, I didnt realize it was running about 20-25 degrees warmer than what the refrigerator was showing on the display. This caused illness due to unsafe food being consumed. Ice maker has been freezing over for years, but this is the first I realized the temperature issues. Shortly prior to the illness incident, the unit was making some unusual noises. I am listing the incident date based on when the cooling issue was confirmed, but the issues likely started long before that.

I have had numerous service calls on this unit but the service calls in May 2019, May 2020 and currently waiting on another service call, the refrigerator cooling has failed. This unit has temperature display on the door but it was a purchased temperature gauge that was placed in the unit that allowed me to monitor that the temperature was at an unsafe level.

I have a Samsung Refrigerator that I purchased in 2016, Model RS22HDHPNSR/AA. Fridge has multiple issues, 1. Fridge goes into a showroom mode for no reason, must be power cycled to function, we’ve lost all our food on 2 occasions. 2. Ice maker does not work and needs to be reset almost daily, 3. Most important is the temperature control, display show 0/34 but the actual temperature varies on daily basis, anywhere from 34/47. This has been a problem for quite some time now, myself and my family members have gotten sick on multiple occasions shortly after eating food. We assumed it was a flu or a stomach bug. On a hunch I’ve purchased a thermometer and noticed the temp discrepancies. I’ve been contacting Samsun on the issues, they simply ask to reset the fridge.

I finally invested in a digital thermometer and it says the inside temperature is 39-40 degrees! Samsung apparently knows of this issue with their refrigerators too. I have been eating and drinking spoiled products without even knowing.

Purched brand new Samsung Refrigerator model RF28HD, refrigerator displays temp at 34 degrees but when we place thermometers inside frsh food storage all thermometers proof temperature is really 15 degrees warmer. Our food spoils, milk curdles. Foods are unsafe as a result. This refrigerator has design flaws. We have to unplug and defrost it monthly now as problems are getting worse. There is no fix for this as it is a design flaw and refrigerators need to be recalled because they cannot cool to proper temperatures of safe food storage.

We purchased a Samsung refrigerator in June of 2015 model RF28HDEDBS from a local Best Buy Store in Longmont, Colorado. Our ice maker in this product has not worked for many, many years and now over the past year the temperature inside our unit is rising over 50 degrees spoiling so much of our food and making the appliance an issue to our health. I have contacted Samsung in August to advise of the problems and at this time because of the known ice maker defect they agreed to send a service tech out for a “no cost” repair installing an ice maker kit. While the technician from One Stop Appliance was performing the ice maker repair he also realized the entire fan section of our unit has been frozen over and this is not allowing the appliance to circulate cooling air and making it unsafe temperatures inside our unit. I have contacted Samsung in New Jersey once again about this issue and they advised since my unit is out of warranty they want me to pay the repair technician an additional $235 for install a water leakage kit. There are so many known issues happening right now with Samsung due to all these temperature and freezing defects how do we get them to address the known issues? Due to the safety of our health and the high rising temperature this allows for bacteria to grow on any food product we purchase also causing us a loss of product. Please help in any way possible how we can have this issue resolved. If you have any questions you can email me at [REDACTED] or call my cellular at [REDACTED].

    Thank you in advance.

Samsung refrigerator is not holding to set temperature in unit resulting in hundreds of dollars of food loss and unsafe food temps. Due to unrepairable defect, the fridge freezes and cannot maintain temps. The temp is set to 34 degrees and that shows on the external display. A thermometer placed inside the fridge reads 50 degrees. We repaired the unit twice, and technician determined it was unrepairable and advised us to get a new fridge because the problem would return every couple weeks. The warmer temps led to my children drinking spoiled milk. We are unsure how long the unit was at improper temps because the external display only shows the set temperature. The entire family has had upset stomachs and other stomach symptoms for months now likely due to food held at improper temps. In addition, the defect has led to moisture damage inside casing of the unit leading foal odors and mildew. Allergies and stomach issues have led us to file this concern. It is unsafe!

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator back in 2015. The first refrigerator stopped working correctly, luckily we were going through a rent to own company. They repaired the fridge and it did it again. They replaced that fridge with a new one and that one did not work out of the box. So they gave us a loaner fridge and ordered one straight from Samsung. The above took place between July 2015 - dec 2015. In december we received the replacement. The motor was loud but we were told that it was normal. Fast forward and the fridge has had problems for awhile now. The temperature will say it is 38 degrees but I put a thermometer in and the temp is anywhere from 45-54 degrees. The entire unit freezes up, have to unplug it for 24 hours and it only works again for a week or two. I have lost several hundreds of dollars in food and have been sick several times due to incorrect temps in fridge. I have photos and videos of the worsening sound the fridge makes. The fridge is 5 years old. And due to a design flaw that Samsung has admitted to and class action lawsuits. I have decided to try to talk to Samsung. First [REDACTED] claims there is nothing they can do, then she tells me to get repaired. Ok. But I have to set it up because there isn’t a tech anywhere near where I live. Then I have to pay to use someone local. And now tells me that I am only allowed a 700 dollar reimbursement. That doesn’t even cover the cost of a new fridge that I have to purchase because of a DESIGN FLAW that is dangerous to humans. But because of her two weeks worth of [REDACTED] my refrigerator will not even cool below 59 degrees now. Those refrigerators are dangerous to humans and are going to make someone extremely ill, they haven’t already. Please do something. Since they will not.

I have a Samsung refrigerator, model RF28HMEDBSR/AA. It was manufactured in March of 2014 with a know defect that Samsung has issues service bulletins since 2007. The defect involves the ice maker, fridge coils and fan, that freeze up and ice over. The ice maker stops working. The coil fan makes loud noises and vibrations, and ultimately, the coils will stop maintaining the desired tempature. The digital thermometer on the fridge does not show current temperature, only the desired temp. After placing multiple thermometers in the fridge, we were able to see that the fridge was not maintaining temperature under 40 degrees, making the fridge unsafe for food. I have had two Samsung tickets opened, in 2018 and 2019, to resolve but in both instance, the problems returned soon after. This fridge is a lemon. Sadly, most Samsung french door fridges have the same defect, and their is no resolution. It is defective and Samsung knows it. Depending on how far one is willing to fight, they will issue refunds, with or without receipt, for their defective fridges. They will start with only a ‘pro-rated’ low ball offer and tell you it is not negotiable. But this is illegal. The Magnusson Moss Act protects the consumer from defective products, ie, lemons.

My Samsung refrigerator has a digital temperature display. This display shows 34 degrees and sometimes ranges from 33-35 degrees. Upon noticing that my non expired food was going bad, I purchased a thermometer and placed it inside. The next day I checked and the thermometer was 50 degrees, I moved it around over the next few days and it ranged from 42 degrees to 54 degrees.

Knowing the health issue, I called samsung and shared this with them. They know of the issue but there are no repair people in my area so they will not repair it. They also will not replace it. They tld me to still use it but would pay for food replacement because they are aware it is spoiled.

Without fixing it the new food will also be bad.

After much research, this is a common and well known issue. It is misleading to the consumer and I am not sure how long we have been eating spoiled food.

The incident date is the most recent communication there are other dates.

My husband and I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator – Module # RF263BEAESR on June 11, 2013 for our new home. Within a few years, we noticed that the ice maker, every couple of weeks, would stop producing ice. My husband would need to remove the ice tray and take a knife (or other sharp object) and chisel away a buildup of ice in the ice maker. This was annoying and tedious, yes, but at the time, it did not seem like a fridge that was, otherwise, working fine.

Last year, we noticed our refrigerator making a very loud noise. We noticed that when we opened the door, this noise stopped. After researching a bit online, we determine that the reason it turned off when we opened the fridge door was because upon opening the door, the fan stops, thus the noise was not being produced. Again, when looking further in to it, we found people posting online that the inside of the back panel tends to freeze up in this model (and other Samsung models) and the ice is hitting the fan (hence, the noise we heard). We watched several You Tube tutorials as to how to rectify this situation. We went through the process of removing all of our belongings from the fridge and letting it defrost for several days. Then, we plugged it back in. It appeared that the problem had been solved! However, this has continued at least five times since then. The most recent occurrences have been much more frequent: in May 2020, end of June 2020, and July 2020. The process of having to defrost our fridge, move all of our food to a spare fridge and/or coolers for several days, is quite bothersome and is something we should not have to do. Again, we have researched and found that this is a known problem (as well as the ice maker issue) with Samsungs.

The problem we have experienced now, however, is that our fridge is no longer cooling as it should. We have our fridge set at the lowest temperature, 34?. We started to notice that our food did not seem as cold as it should. When I put a thermometer in the fridge, it says it is 45? (despite it being set at 34?). When researching what an adequate and safe temperature is for a fridge (to keep food safe) I learned that it should be at or below 40?. We are now having food spoil, including milk, eggs, and meat. I am currently pregnant and this is not safe for myself or my husband and small child to be ingesting food at this temperature.

The shelves in the fridge door don’t stay in as well. Last year a couple of months after purchasing this model they fell out and caused glass to break injuring my wife. Samsung said it was my fault.

The product, in the report: Samsung Fridge/Freezer (model RF28JBEDBSG)

I have a Samsung Fridge/Freezer (model RF28JBEDBSG), there are three defects with the unit that have an impact on how we use it on a daily bases: -

    - The ice maker constantly jams, sometimes to the point where the drawer cannot be removed and needs defrosted - The refrigerator is not maintaining temperature and causing issues with food spoiling and has caused bouts of sickness - The freezer is not maintaining temperature and causing issues with food spoiling and has caused bouts of sickness

This is a design issue with the unit and I expect Samsung to refund the full purchase of $2,524.39 after tax. Samsung are still selling this product for $2,299 on their website.

Samsung refrigerator ice maker freezes up and has issues with temperature control. This is a manufacturer’s defect, a design defect and big food safety issue. Samsung sold the refrigerator knowing that it has recurring issues. There are several service bulletins about this and I’m aware of many complaints due to this defect. We have had issues with this fridge since purchasing due to this defective design flaw. The water is now running out of the ice maker, through the door shoot, down the front of the fridge and damaging my flooring. I have lost spoiled food due to the temperature controls and the ice maker has flooded the inside of the fridge with water, ruining other products.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator 10-3-2016 and immediately started experiencing problems within the first year. The ice maker would freeze up and stop making ice and for a while now my refrigerated items would spoil within a couple days until I read up that this is a very common problem with this model refrigerator. The display shows the temperature is fine when in reality it is not. The back of the fridge is also froze up and water runs under the pull out tray and freezes so when you pull it out to grab an item a sheet of ice breaks all over the floor. I have been trying to have the fridge serviced since March 24th 2020 and have had 3 different repair companies scheduled to come out and not one has shown up. 5 months without a fridge. This is not a warranty issue this is a design flaw and they need to be held accountable. Samsung fridges need a class action lawsuit.

I have this Samsung refrigerator Model RF32FMQDBSR that has a well known design defect that the internal temp differs from the control panel. Food in the fridge compartment became bad for weeks and caused health issues. I had food poison because I didn’t know about the temperature inside the fridge was higher than the displayed temperature and ate the food without knowing it was already bad. The same defects exist on all modes because thousands are experiencing the same thing. However, Samsung is still selling their defected products to consumers.

On June 24, 2015 my fiance & I eagerly purchased new Samsung appliances for our home! We have experienced a plethora of issues w/ ALL the appliances that we purchased but the majority & frequency of the issues rest w/ the refrigerator Model # RF30HDEDTSR. The issues started within the first year & have not been resolved. The most prominent issue was the ice maker located in the fridge would suddenly stop producing ice. This occurs at minimum every 3 months. Other pervasive issues include water leakage from the water/ice dispenser & the back panel causing mold throughout the unit, & the frozen back panel that leads to loud mechanical sounds which results in the fridge’s inability to maintain a food safe temp. In addition, the fridge lacks the ability to accurately display the correct temp. For example on 7/1/20, the fridge’s temp. displayed 47 degrees but when measured by a secondary fridge thermometer it recorded a temp. of 60 degrees. My fiance & I have contacted Samsung numerous times & have been met w/ deceitful tactics & unreliable record keeping. Samsung has lost call records & transcripts & flat out lied to us about repair cost.(e.g. On Aug. 13th 2020 a Samsung representative said “I can see that you called in Nov. 2019 and again in Dec. 2019 for the same issue and it is mind boggling why they did not set up a repair claim!”) This call was initiated as I had requested a repair on Aug. 4 which was scheduled for Aug 11. & then rescheduled for 3 consecutive days. Thereafter,8/4/20 a Samsung repairman fixed the ice maker successfully. However, my fridge is still unable to produce a food safe temp. as it displays 58 degrees F. I’m tired of missing work for a fridge that will NEVER be FIXED. My only resolution is to purchase a new fridge. This REFRIGERATOR model is DEFECTIVE due to the placement of the ice maker inside the refrigerator compartment & Samsung is well aware of the issues but despite that knowledge they still manufacture and sell defective fridges.

I was prompted to write this report because the recurring mold has made my fridge unsafe to use on a regular basis. In addition to the fluctuating mold issue, our fridge cannot maintain a food safe temperature which was compounded by the fridges inability to record or display an accurate reading of the temperature. This lead to food poisoning and ultimately the expiration of all food, condiments, and medication housed inside the refrigerator. Samsung continues to manufacture and sell these defective refrigerators and insist that a simple repair can fix them. However, thousand of Americans have submitted claims for repairs time and time again! I am a member of a support group with over 26 thousand members which ALL have experience these EXACT same ISSUES.

We purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator from Lowes and within a few months upon purchasing the ice maker freezes up and will not dispense ice. We have tried defrosting but that is not a solution because it starts freezing up again within weeks if not days. We have also started noticing that items in our refrigerator are starting to sour before expiration date. We are calling in a service request for this, but we are not sure they will service because they always state reasons as why it is not a request they handle. It is unsafe if the internal temperature is dropping below our settings that are on the display.

It was working fine for 2 years and now in 2020 its doing it again, i found out about the Lawsuit Samsung has against them for the fridge insert ice-maker. I reached out to Samsung and they gave me a 1 time free repair, 2 weeks go by the fan in the back is making the biggest noise and it is obviously not getting fixed. The product, in the report: Samsung 4 door french door Refrigerator Model RF30HBEDBSR

I am reporting my Samsung french door refrigerator. In June 2020 our Samsung 4 door french door refrigerator condenser and fan began freezing up, making the refrigerator itself warm up to unsafe cooling temperatures (into the mid 50’s!) despite what the digital display showed. We’ve had freezing issues throughout the 5 years we’ve owned this model with our ice maker, but now the problem has affected the entire appliance. I have done “forced defrost” to get the motor started again, but this only lasts a few hours before it starts freezing again (the motor makes unhappy sounds letting you know it is happening again). I am told it is no longer under warranty, and would require hundreds of dollars in repair. I am a small business owner who relies on my refrigerator to supply meals. I cannot risk food borne illnesses for my clients, let alone my own family. From the forums I’ve read I can see my issue is not rare, and any “fix” would only be temporary. The Samsung model RF30HBEDBSR is a safety hazard!

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator model RS265TDRS in 2014 from Best Buy. In the time that I have owned it I have had to have it repaired multiple times per year due to a manufacturer’s defect that allows the refrigerator’s fan to completely ice over and then stop moving. When the fan stops the refrigerator stops cooling. The inside temperature is routinely 50-60 degrees while the display on the front of the refrigerator states it is 34 degrees leading to food spoilage. My family has suffered from stomach aches and diarrhea due to eating food that was stored at unsafe temperatures. These refrigerators need to be recalled until Samsung can figure out how to correct the manufacturer’s defect and stop the food poisoning. After spending $1500 on a refrigerator I expect that I should be able to trust it to keep food cool for more than a few years and the front display should read the correct inside temperature.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door Refrigerator with Twin Cooling System Model RF268ABPN

I own a Samsung RF268ABPN/XAA French Door refrigerator with Twin Cooling System. I have already had to have the upper ice maker replaced due to defect. I am now having issues with water that collects up under the pull out crisper tray that freezes into a 1 inch or more solid sheet of ice. I researched the problem and also talked to a appliance repair company and found that this is yet another design defect of the Samsung French Door refrigerator. The repair person stated that he has to fix this defective issue all the time and it involves taking off the entire back of the refrigerator, which is most likely also coated in ice and remove the twin cooling system cover on the inside. The defect is due to a small piece of metal connected to the defrost heating element that sticks down into the drain hole to keep it from freezing. The element is too short and doesn’t prevent the water from freezing in the drain hole which causes the water to run out under the crisper drawers. This can cause the refrigerator to stop cooling, which I’ve already noticed. My wife was wondering why food seemed to be spoiling!! Samsung refuses to accept any responsibility of this very obvious design flaw/defect and leaves it up to the consumer to lay out hundreds of dollars. About 2 weeks ago my wife was forced to remove a solid sheet of ice under the pull out crisper drawer as it had gotten to where it would not go in all the way. It was unbelievable the amount of ice and she ended up with a big gash on her arm and cuts on her hands. You have no choice but to scrape it out. It continues to leak water and we have had to remove the ice again before it became too thick. We have to really keep an eye on the food and temperature to avoid food spoiling / a definite health hazard.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator 2015 and we have had multiple issues with the freezer and the fridge holding temperature. Shortly after purchase I started having issues with the freezer portion of the unit. No ice production, motor sound coming from the freezer, water leaking under the food tray and out of the front of the unit through not only that area, but the water/ice dispenser on the front as well. The unit is also not holding temperature. The refrigerator is running between 45-47 degrees fahrenheit. I have to keep a towel under the dispenser on the front of the unit to prevent water running down to the floor and damaging it. I have to dispose of food faster and a lot has gone to waste. The freezer drawer temp fluctuates and is either too cold or not cold enough. Samsung knows of the issue as there have been thousands of complaints filed and sill the do nothing.

This is based on a [REDACTED] analog refrigerator/freezer thermometer I purchased and placed in the refrigerator compartment. Samsung knows about these defects but refuses to issue a recall. These issues pose a safety hazard for me and my family (wife and son).

In addition to the know defect for all Samsung French Door refrigerators, outlined in a 10/05/2017 Samsung Service Bulletin (Service Bulletin #: ASC20171005001), I have been experiencing significant temperature variances in the refrigerator compartment of my Samsung refrigerator. These temperatures have risen as high as 43 to 44 degrees, which is in the danger zone for safe food storage. In doing research, I have found that my situation is not isolated and Samsung refuses to recall these defective refrigerators.

Due to a known design defect, the ice maker in the Samsung RF28HFEDBSR refrigerator freezes up with ice and ceases operation every two weeks. This causes ice to form on an internal fan and makes the refrigerator extremely loud.

Worse, the refrigerators internal temperature control will report the target temperature, even if the temperature inside the refrigerator has reached unsafe levels. Recently the refrigerator reported the target temperature of 35 degrees, but the food in the refrigerator felt noticeably warmer. After unplugging and re-plugging in the refrigerator, the temperature displayed on the refrigerator was 65 degrees, after which the refrigerator would not cool to below 60 degrees.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model RF263BEASR/AA. Product is stainless steel, and features a CoolPantry Select drawer in the refrigerator. A freezer drawer is on the bottom. The ice maker is in the refrigerator.

I am submitting this report because we purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator model # RF263BEASR/AA in November 2014. Not long after the warranty expired, we began having issues with the efficiency of the appliance and those issues have been ongoing. We reached out to Samsung to request a full refund for our refrigerator as it does function as promised. We have had it repaired twice and both times to no avail. In fact, the second Samsung technician noted that this was a defect with the refrigerator itself and that the problem would not go away. We followed up with Samsung Customer Service who also acknowledged that this is a defect with the product and that there was actually nothing they could do to repair it. We could not afford a new refrigerator at the time and have been making due since. The problems associated with this refrigerator are very well known to Samsung and they continue to sell it - despite the fact that it has an admitted design flaw. The ice maker continues to frost over, water collects in the base of the refrigerator, we have constant floods on our floors from the water dripping from the refrigerator, the pack panel where the compressor and other components are located was replaced twice by Samsung technicians, the compressor fan hums LOUDLY on a constant basis - so much so that we can hear it upstairs in our 2-story home - and the temperature inside the refrigerator is warmer than the control panel reads. Aside from having to constantly throw out food from spoiling too soon, our son takes medication that needs to be refrigerated and we have to worry about its efficacy daily. My husband has had to force defrost the ice maker to keep the lines from clogging as it’s too costly to have the Samsung technicians keep coming to our home to fix it. This item should be recalled as the engineering design defects are causing issues for many people. It is completely unacceptable that Samsung manufactures and sells a product they knowingly cannot repair. They have been aware of this for years but clearly they do not care about the consumer or the safety of its product. As consumers, we need to band together to voice our concerns about Samsung’s fraudulent manufacturing practices.

I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator on 12/30/2015 Model # RF26HFENDBC. Since purchase of this defective refrigerator It’s temperature is highly inaccurate. Samsunge sent out a repair team around 11/06/2019 who came out and modified the refrigerator while doing the repair. It held together for 6 months and now i keep a dial Dial thermometer in the refrigerator because the temp inside is consistently about 50F plus or minus 10 degrees depending on if it is in a defrost cycle. I keep having to purge all the spoiled food into the trash after my children grab it , eat it and tell me its bad.

    I have a Samsung refrigerator, Model # RF261BEAEWW/AA.

Since June 4, we have tried and tried to get it repaired., and we understand it has known issues with cooling.

We recently had it repaired, and we have a thermometer inside the fridge to make sure it is working. Although everything seems to be working, and it is running fine, the temperature inside the refrigerator has been between 40 and 50 degrees, usually around 45 or 46 degrees. However, it is cool enough that I might not have noticed had I not seen the thermometer.

This is the same issue we had before calling for service, and it makes me wonder how long our fridge was cool, but not cold enough, leading us to eat spoiled food. I was treated in May for severe GI issues by my doctor because our refrigerator made me sick.

I am absolutely furious. After doing some reading, I see that SAMSUNG refrigerators have known design flaws like this. People could be getting severely ill.

Samsung Refrigerator keeps food too warm, approximately 50 degrees F. Food has been spoiling and my children and family members have been getting sick eating spoiled food. The refrigerator is defective. It shows you the temp. you want to set and says what it thinks the temp is, but it is wrong. I purchased a separate thermometer to find out the temp is actually too high and unsafe even though the display on the fridge says it is what I set it at. This is a dangerous design flaw that has sickened my family with spoiled food as well as lost food due to early spoilage.

I have purchase Samsung Refrigerator model RF28K9380SG 28CF. Purchased during Apr 2018 and paid around $2900 plus taxes. Worked fine for first 2 years and 3 months then major issues. Freezer or freezer and Flex Zone are not cooling. Samsung chat support is not good - only chat bot and if you get handle of human being - they provide very basic support. I reset circuit breaker 4 times in 8 days to fix it. If you call Samsung via phone - there is a wait time of more than 90 minutes and no option for a call back. Reached out to twitter support also but no help. Samsung support is created in such a way that customers end up calling in-person technician which is unreasonably expensive - $80 trip charges plus $80 labor plus parts. Fortunately I bought it from Costco using Costco [REDACTED] card. This gave me two years full warranty from Samsung and two extra years from Costco [REDACTED] credit card. My fridge temperature is currently 43 F and freezer is 66. Everything in Freezer is getting hot - everything got spoiled. Using [REDACTED] - i tried to create another freezer zone - it didn’t worked out. And it’s not user interface issue - inside temperature is high. I tried to decrease it to -2F and -6F or 0F and waited for more than 7 hours - freezer temperature is not going below 46F - it goes from 46F to 66F. There is no long duration door open, no vents closed(fridge is lightly packed), no black rubber loose or anything like that. Wifi Smart things app never connected to this. Finally after a wait of 7 days, technician came in. Did some diagnostic and told us that refrigerator is dead. They will come and fill some gas etc...and test it out. Couldn’t provided any date when they will be back. We are asked to buy a backup refrigerator. Temperature of freezer is more than 76F and fridge is also not working. More than 2 weeks - technician will come and hopefully that should fix everything. We are 3 weeks out of refrigerator during the COVID-19 and hot [REDACTED] summer. Would think 100 times before buying any samsung product. Contacted Attorney general’s office in NJ where Samsung has the headquarters and made consumer complaint. Thank fully it was purchased from Costco. Costco provides 2 years of warranty and then another 2 years is provided by Costco [REDACTED] card.

This product is very unreliable and unsafe.

Currently the refrigerator compartment does not cool with a temperature of 61. Food has spoiled and we are concerned with the health problems. The internal temp and display temps do not match.

The ice maker hasn’t worked with any consistency because it freezes up. We have had service calls to fix the ice maker but the repair didn’t last more than a week. The whole ice maker freezes up so no ice is made and the compartment doesn’t pull out.

There is a significant defect with this model RF28HDEDSR.

Our Samsung Refrigerator, Model RF23M8070SR 4-door with ice maker which was purchased from Best Buy in December 2017 is not cooling to the set temperatures for the fridge or freezer. This week my son attempted to thaw some chicken from the freezer and it filled our house with a rotten smell. I sorted through the freezer and found that the food on the top was partially thawed and the food below had thawed and re-frozen. I used a digital thermometer and found that the temperatures in the fridge and freezer were both 40 degrees. The ice-maker also freezes and thaws -- dripping water into the food drawers.

In 2014 I purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator at Best Buy. This product has known defects. It has been repaired twice already. In 2016 we paid to have the fridge repaired by Sears (order#[REDACTED]). In 2019 we filed through the NJ BBB and Samsung sent Dish to service the unit (ticket# [REDACTED]). The first service was to repair the ice machine, which had stopped making ice. The second repair was to solve a problem that was causing ice buildup behind the back panel of the fridge, which ultimately caused a fan to stop. As a result, the internal temperature in the fridge rose to dangerous levels, despite the external display incorrectly indicating that the temperature was normal. (The display read 34 degrees while a thermometer placed inside the fridge was at 44+ degrees.) This posed a health risk to my family and resulted in food spoilage/waste.

Now the ice maker has stopped making ice AND the ice build up behind the back panel has caused to fan to stop again. These are product defects, that are well documented in Samsung service bulletins. There is also a [REDACTED] group with over 24,000 members that shows the widespread impact of these product defects: [REDACTED]. There is also class action lawsuit against Samsung regarding this issue.

It is moral failure that Samsung has not recalled these fridges. This is a health issue. It is only a matter of time before some gets sick or dies. Samsung, please contact me ASAP to let me know when I can expect my full refund.

purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 8/2016. In May of this year we started to notice the temperature in the freezer did not match what they were set for. Items we not staying frozen, i.e. ice cream was soft despite the temperature being set to recommended level. I called SAmsung to inquire about service. On May 5 2020, a service tech from Home Service Network came to assess the unit. He was able to identify quickly that there was a seal system problem. He ordered parts to repair it. On May 11, 2020, the same tech came to install the new parts, however once that was done the fridge still was not working . They requested the service tech to order/ replace the compressor to see if that fixed the issue. An appointment was made for 5/15/20 to install the new compressor. No one ever came for the scheduled appointment between 10-2p that day. When I was finally able to contact someone at Home Service Network, I was told the parts had not come in and that is why no one came. However, no one from Samsung or HSN bothered to call to reschedule the appointment. I was then told the next available appointment for service was the week of May 25. This was not acceptable to me and I spoke with a supervisor and was able to get an appt. on May 20 with a different tech. On May 20, a new tech came and was able to replace the compressor and requested us to call in 24 hrs to see if the unit was cooling. The next day we called because the fridge did seem to be keeping things frozen. The unit worked fine until 7/25/20 when we noticed that the freezer was again not maintaining temps despite the setting on the unit. Items weren’t at safe temperatures. I reported this to Samsung, that the same issue was reoccurring and they agreed to send out a tech who would have to deem the unit “unrepairable” before they could refund us for the defective fridge but the first appointment was 8/13/20. This is not acceptable and I want a refund now so I can replace the fridge and keep my family’s food safe.

I don’t know if I have been eating food that has been bad previously because the temperature indicator said it was cold. However, after being away a few days I came back to find my fridge had significant mold. I threw all my food out. When I complained about the temperature before they gave me some tips to make it cold again and it would work temporarily. However what appears to happen is that when we have a power outage due to a storm the fridge doesn’t reset so I have no idea how long food has been in there at a warm temperature that then gets cold again putting my family at risk.

My desired income is a refund for the amount of purchase. I originally bought the Samsung Refrigerator RF24FSEDBSR/AA two years ago when we moved to TX. Since then I have had numerous messes of melted ice coming out the front and inside the door, molded foods from inconsistent temps (I use separate thermometers to regulate), and have been buying ice for over 6 months because the ice maker will not work without freezing up or making ungodly noises. I cannot even currently pull the ice drawer out. This is a design flaw, not a warranty issue and I would like to be able to replace it with something reliable.

The product, in the report: French door refrigerator (2 doors on top & freezer on bottom)

2018: Ice was building up inside the refrigerator. The consumer had to continuously defrost it, so the ice maker would work. Additionally, water leaked from the refrigerator and the refrigerator built up mold, where the water and ice is dispensed out of the door. The leaking occurred underneath the refrigerator, near the front. It occurred, when the ice built-up and caused condensation. The consumer has cleaned that area numerous times, but the mold always returned.

The consumer went to [REDACTED], “Samsung Refrigerator Recall” group and saw other people experiencing similar problems to her. The consumer said that some people claimed to have received a refund for the issues with their refrigerators and they posted copies of their checks. They also posted their experiences, in writing, when the technicians came out.

2/17/2020: The consumer filed a report with the BBB and it was sent to the firm. The consumer received a response that her claim was denied, because she tampered with the refrigerator, by using a hair-dryer, to defrost it.

2/19/2020: The consumer called the manufacturer and shared her concerns with [REDACTED] This rep. offered the consumer a 1 time service repair appointment, at no charge.

2/26/2020: A service technician ([REDACTED]) came out and asked the consumer if she ever defrosted the refrigerator and the consumer said yes. The tech. left and told her that someone would get back in touch with her. Later she received information where the mfr. claimed that she tampered with the machine. The firm has not been willing to do anything for her.

The consumer went back to [REDACTED] and asked if anyone had experience what she went through with technician, who came to their home.

The consumer said that she saw a manufacturer’s service bulletin posted on the [REDACTED] group, which was dated 2/24/2017 (Titled: French Door Direct Cool Ice Maker Frozen). It was revised 4/16/2019. It states “Samsung no ice, no ice room, ice bucket stuck with frost.” Samsung has pictures of the refrigerators and the consumer said that her model was included in the bulletin.

Approx.Jan-2020, the consumer had to purchase an ice bucket, because the one that came with the refrigerator cracked, when she tried to remove the built-up ice and defrost it. The cracked pieces could have ended up in the glasses they drank out of.

The consumers have stopped defrosting their refrigerator. They placed a towel in front of it to prevent the leaking water from spreading, but she said this presents a fall hazard.

The consumer said that the mfr’s rep. advised her to unplug the refrigerator and allow it to defrost on its own. The consumer is concerned that this could cause her food to spoil, so she has not done this.

The consumer saw a [REDACTED] video, where a different consumer contacted the local news station about her refrigerator. The news station did a story, came out to her home and contacted the mfr. Afterwards, the mfr. sent that consumer a refund.

The consumer said the firm should be consistent with others as well.

    GreetGreetings,

I have an Samsung Refrigerator RF4287HARS SN 10204308100776, that has been having ongoing issues with the Ice Maker and the Cooling Temperatures. My ice machine was fixed the first time, but it started to build up ice inside and as of today I have to chip it away every few weeks otherwise ice would not be able to produce. I’ve been noticing my food begun to spoil more quickly and never thought of any issue with the fridge. I bought a thermometer and now can clearly see that its operating above 50 degrees when the digital temperature is set at 34. Food safety is most important and after I realized that the set point display temp did not correspond to the unsafe higher temps inside my refrigerator I started my quest with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission. I’ve reported this fridge to the https://saferproducts.gov/. My kids and I have been ingesting warm milk and nearly spoiled food for months perhaps even years now with occasional sickness that we are unaware of.

I’ve asked Samsung to come out to repair but they will not pay the bill for the labor when it is a known defect on their end. I have tirelessly contacted Samsung on numerous times to troubleshoot and try to resolve the problem at the lowest level but they are unable to provide any solution.

My Samsung refrigerator is freezing on the back wall causing temperatures to exceed 47. The ice maker is completely frozen and does not produce ice. Ice has formed under crisper tray and is leaking water on to floor under refrigerator.

SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS HAVE A DEFECTIVE PART THAT CAUSES ICE TO BUILD UP FROM THE DRAIN TO THE INTERIOR WALL, UP TO THE FAN MOTOR. THE REFRIGERATOR THEN DOES NOT COOL BUT THE FREEZER STILL WORKS WHICH THEN CAUSES THE FOOD INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR TO SPOIL. THIS IS ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA AND I WAS ABLE TO FIX IT AFTER BUYING A NEW PART. SAMSUNG REFUSES TO FIX THEIR DEFECT. I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM EATING FOOD OUT OF MY REFRIGERATOR AS I DID NOT KNOW IT SPOILED DUE TO NOT BEING COLD ENOUGH.

The product, in the report: Samsung French Door Refrigeraltor Stainless Steel RF23HCEDBSR

I own a Samsung french door refrigerator. I have always had problems with the ice make freezing, however, it has recently come to my attention that Samsung has known of this defect in addition to having knowledge that the refrigerator does not keep the temperature in a safe range defect, since 2006.

I put a thermometer in my refrigerator for 24 hours and discovered it is well over the 40 degree temperature that it is set.

I think it is reprehensible that Samsung has put our physical well-being in jeopardy, in addition to all other owners. We have had incidents of stomach issues, that could not be explained.

I have owned the refrigerator since 2016. I have had many items that have gone bad before they should have but never suspected the refrigerator as the temperature has always read 40 degrees.

The product, in the report: Samsung 28 cu. ft. french door refrigerator with CoolSelect Pantry & Dual Ice Makers. Model RF28HFEDTSR SN 065P43BF401062L

The Samsung 28 cu ft French Door refrigerator (RF28HFEDTSR/SN 065P43BF401062L) with cool select pantry and duel ice makers has a defect in the top ice maker that is inside the refrigerator itself. The ice maker completely freezes up and stops making ice. You cannot get the ice bucket out without using a heat source such as a hair dryer to melt the ice or you have to scrape the ice away. I tried scraping the ice and ended up tearing up my knuckles and bruising them. The ice bucket is cracked in multiple places and cannot be used at all. I have researched issues with the Samsung refrigerators and have found thousands of complaints from consumer plus a class action lawsuit against Samsung. I contacted Samsung and was initially told to call an approved Samsung repair center near me. I called a repair company and was immediately told that the ice makers for the Samsung refrigerator model I have has a defect and that there is a service bulletin issued on what is required to fix the issue. The cost of parts alone are over $500.00. I was told to call Samsung and request an accommodation to cover the parts & labor for the repairs. When I did call them, I was told that I was not eligible for any accommodation because I had not contacted Samsung directly and had not already had a service repair of any type done of the refrigerator. Even if I needed to have the refrigerator repaired before now, I would have just called a local repair person. I would not have called Samsung. No consumer should have to use a hair dryer or an ice pick to remove built up ice on the outside of an ice bucket in a refrigerator. Samsung should either recall the product(s) or provide NO Charge repair accommodations. I have spent hours talking to person after person at Samsung and no one seems concerned.
