The washer lid does not appear to have a soft-close feature or a mechanism that prevents it from falling suddenly during use. On multiple occasions, the lid has unexpectedly fallen while the machine was being used according to the manufacturers instructions. This has caused swelling and bruising to users hands and has also broken the face of my watch. The issue has caused physical pain, inconvenience, and concern for the safety of anyone using the washer. Safety Concern This appears to be a serious safety hazard that could injure other consumers.    The front-load washer glass door spontaneously exploded/shattered with a loud pop sound a few minutes after completing a normal wash cycle. The machine was closed and standing still when it shattered into tiny sharp pieces on its own. Fine glass shards and dust have contaminated the inner stainless steel drum and rubber seals. There is a toddler in our home, posing a severe and ongoing safety hazard.

   The product, in the report: This is a Samsung top-loading washing machine, product number WA55A7300AE/US.

   I was running a load of laundry in my Samsung WA55A7300AE/US washing machine when the control panel became so hot it started to melt the plastic display on the control panel. I thought it was a finger print smudge but in fact it was the plastic melting. It was incredibly hot to the touch and getting worse, so I unplugged the machine before it could catch fire. This occurred on 22 August 2026. On 24 August I reached out to Samsung and requested a warranty repair. While my product was out of warranty by 1-2 years, I noticed that the model and serial number were included in a previous recall for control panel replacement. I had previously had new software installed on the control panel by a technician during the initial recall period. A service ticket was opened under [REDACTED] but was closed later that day once Samsung realized the machine was out of warranty and that it was likely a recall claim. A new internal ticket was created and passed to the Risk Management department for decision. On 28 August and 31 August I contact Samsung customer care but the representative was unable to assist me as the ticket was in a different department (risk management) and they were unable to provide a phone number for that department. A note was made each time in the internal system documenting my request for follow-up and the representative stated someone would reach out to me as soon as possible. I have yet to be contacted.

   The product, in the report: On 08/05/2026, my Samsung top-load washing machine (Model WA45K7600AW/AZ) suffered a violent, catastrophic structural failure during a standard spin cycle. The internal drum completely lost balance, forcefully thrusting upward and detaching the top chassis of the machine. The violent shifting caused physical impact damage to the matching dryer positioned next to it and smashed into the adjacent wall, leaving a structural dent. This model is actively listed under CPSC Safety Recall 17-028 due to uncontained fragmentation and impact hazards. The failure presented an immediate physical threat and a severe safety hazard to the occupants of my home.    This complaint concerns a Samsung front-load washing machine, Model WF45T6000AW, Serial No. 01GN57AW112076R, purchased from Lowes in April 2023 for $804.

   On April 18, 2026, during a normal wash cycle with four pairs of jeans, the washer suffered a sudden structural failure at the lower-left outer tub counterweight support area, causing a loud bang, extreme vibration, and immediate leaking from the front-left portion of the machine. Inspection after the event showed that the lower-left plastic counterweight support bracket on the outer tub had failed and created a large crack or hole at the adjacent bolted connection.

   This failure appears to present a safety concern because the machine experienced violent motion and immediate water leakage during ordinary household use. The combination of a sudden bang, severe vibration, and leaking could create risks of property damage, slipping, or injury if a user were nearby when the failure occurred.

   The washer had been in service for only about three years and approximately 800 cycles at the time of failure. According to the attached documentation, this was not the result of misuse, overloading, or an unusual operating condition. The failure occurred during a routine cycle in normal household service.

   Samsung was provided with photographs, video documentation, and a written description of the failure, including the cracked tub area, leak point, and serial number plate. Samsung declined to provide any goodwill accommodation unless the unit was physically inspected by an authorized technician and later closed the case after the leaking washer had to be hauled away and replaced. This complaint is being submitted primarily to report the apparent product safety issue and create a public safety record.

    Wife was washing sheets in our front load washer. Normal cycle selection. Somewhere mid cycle, a loud explosion was heard in the laundry room. The front door of the washing machine physically separated from the rest of the unit, hit the wall, and was found in the floor. The casing of the unit is bowed out badly in several places and unit is not repairable. Washer drum still turn freely. I assume that it was the internal sump pump that exploded but heard nothing back from Samsung on root cause.

    I am writing to report a serious safety incident involving my Samsung Active Wash top load washing machine.

    On August 24th, the washer suffered what can only be described as an explosive structural failure during a wash cycle. The side panel of the machine was violently bent and separated at the seam. This occurred suddenly, with a series of bangs and a loud impacting sound.

    The machine was being used per the standards outlined in the manual. Additionally, the clothes in the washer consisted of a small load of baby clothes (approximately 10-12 small items). No injuries or property damage occurred.

    We are unsure of what caused this issue and have concerns that it could happen again for another individual.

    My brand-new Samsung washer nearly caught fire during regular use, emitting smoke and visible sparks. It was installed on June 21, 2025, and this occurred within the first 30 days of use.

    I am reporting a serious safety hazard involving the Samsung 5.3 cu. ft. Bespoke AI Ventless All-in-One Washer Dryer Combo. The product is marketed as ventless and low-maintenance. However, after approximately six months of use, I began noticing that loads were coming out damp at the end of a full wash/dry cycle. I followed all manufacturer recommendations, including cleaning the heat exchange coils and the lint trap, but the issue persisted.

    A Samsung-authorized technician inspected the unit and found no issues, merely recommending that I rinse the lint filter regularly to prevent buildup. Despite this, the unit continued to underperform, requiring multiple drying cycles per load, leading to excessive energy usage and difficulty managing laundry for our six-person household.

    Out of concern and frustration, I researched online forums and eventually found a video demonstrating how to disassemble the unit and access a hidden section of the internal lint chute a location not mentioned in Samsungs maintenance instructions and not accessible without partial disassembly. When I opened the unit, I discovered a massive amount of compacted lint clogging the internal chute that is supposed to carry lint to the filter. The buildup had almost completely obstructed airflow and directly contributed to the units poor performance.

    This represents a critical design flaw: lint is accumulating in an inaccessible area that consumers cannot clean during regular maintenance, and that Samsungs own technicians do not appear trained or authorized to inspect.     I am contacting you to formally report a serious safety incident involving a Samsung top-load washing machine that appears to have caused a house fire. On May 8, 2025, a fire began at my brothers home in Ione, California, originating in or around the Samsung washer. The home sustained severe structural damage and total loss of personal belongings. The washing machine has been photographed and partially documented. A private fire investigator has been assigned by the lenders insurance carrier, and we understand they may have already notified you as part of their process. We believe the unit may be a 2016 top-load model, and we were able to retrieve a part number: DC63-01447A, which corresponds to the back panel. The washer is currently pending forensic examination. As a member of the affected family and acting on behalf of the property owner, I am opening this report independently of the insurer.     I am writing to formally submit a safety complaint regarding a serious incident involving my Samsung FlexWash washer Serial Number WV60A9900AV/A5, purchased in March 2024. The issue I encountered has raised significant concerns about the safety of this product, posing a potential fire hazard that could endanger lives and property.

    On September 20, 2024, my Samsung washer prompted me to perform a self-cleaning cycle. Following this prompt, I left my home for a couple of hours. When I returned, I was shocked to find that my smoke detector and fire alarm were blaring. I rushed to the laundry room to discover thick smoke pouring from the washer, accompanied by a strong burning odor. The machine was unresponsive, and I had to manually unplug it from the back to prevent a potential escalation into a fire.

    This incident could have been catastrophic. Had I not returned home in time, the smoke could have turned into a fire, threatening my property and the lives of my family. I live with my wife, who is five months pregnant, and our bedrooms are located directly next to the laundry room. The risk posed by this defective product is unacceptable, and the safety of my home and family was in jeopardy.

    After contacting Samsung Care, a technician inspected the washer and confirmed that the computer board was severely burned and charred. Despite the clear defect, my request for a refund or replacement was denied, and I was left with no choice but to accept a repair as my only option. The technician has now been to my home three times, and during the third visit, the replacement computer board they brought was also defective. The machine remains unusable, and I have lost all confidence in its safety.

    Samsung has failed to provide any assurance that future repairs will prevent another potentially life-threatening incident. I am extremely frustrated with the companys handling of this situation, as I have been left without a functioning washer and with concerns about the safety of any future repairs.

    Given the severity of this fire hazard, I feel that this product presents an ongoing danger to consumers, and I strongly urge the CPSC to investigate this matter. I believe that this washer could pose a serious risk of fire, especially if similar incidents are happening to other consumers who may not be as fortunate as I was in preventing a fire in time.

    Our washing machine has left brown residue on our clothes and in the washer, for years. I shake out the clothes after washing and then have to clean the floor and the inside of the washer after each wash. This appears to be mold. After following the “Self Clean” directions in the owners manual many times, the washer continues to leave these deposits, even after running the “Self Clean” with bleach. I hate to think of how many times we used the “Self Clean” feature and nothing seemed to help. I don’t think it is my responsibility to clean my washer each time I use it or take it apart to search for the source of the mold. These washers should have been recalled long ago. When you wash your clothes and sheets, you’re expecting them to come out clean, not spotted with a sticky residue. Also, this is a big waste of water and energy. The “Self Clean” cycle runs on high heat.

    Samsung is refusing to replace my washing machine that actually caught on fire. The technician came out and said that the washing machine control panel was part of their 2021-2022 software recall, and had to do a video call with the Samsung representative who decides whether or not the technician has to replace the parts or replace the unit. Even with obvious fire damage, black smut and melted plastic and wires, proof that the representative was shown over the phone, the representative told the technician to just replace the damaged parts. To top it off, he replaced the burned up control panel with another control panel that is part of the same recall!!! The technician actually told me to take a picture of the part number for future reference because he said that it is probable that a fire could occur again. He also said that he wouldn’t feel safe having the washing machine plugged into his own home, and he instructed me not to wash clothes at night or while I am not home. The professional technician himself claimed the product is not safe and that the representative from Samsung made the wrong decision not to replace the unit entirely. Once the technician left, I called 1-800-SAMSUNG. After speaking with 5 different samsung representatives, several dropped calls and refusal to allow me to speak to a supervisor or manager, I have no resolution to my broken washing machine. One representative claimed that my washing machine was not part of the ones that were recalled, even though the technician said that it definitely was. And several others said that they couldn’t replace the unit because the representative on the video call stated that all the parts could be replaced. The washing machine was purchased in February, 2023 from Home Depot and installed in our new construction home on November 1st, 2023. We moved into our new home and used the washing machine approximately 5-6 times before it caught fire.

I was able to get the door open by putting it in spin cycle only. I had a repair man come out. He heard clicking and knew right off hand that the door lock mechanism was broken. He didn’t look at anything else unfortunately. He replaced the door lock mechanism and then the machine worked again! A few days later after the fix, I ran a load of laundry and again, in spin cycle, the machine started knocking again. I ran to see why it was so loud because I was on the other side of the house and heard it. When I got to the laundry room, me machine was accross the room (only a few feet but this is a pretty heavy machine). I was pushing it back in it’s place when I looked in the drum as it was spinning and saw sparks and smoke. The sparked wasn’t in the drum where the clothes were but in between the outter drum and inside of the machine. I shut the cycle off because it we heavy smoke and the drum was lit up inside. It looked like it we catching fire. Had I not been home, I’m certain it would have caught fire. I called the repair man back and he discovered black sand like dust in the pedestal under the machine. He knew right away what that we from and said that comon when the internal weight balance is chipping or breaking down. He took off the face of the machine and both cement internal balances were completely detached from the machine and fell to the bottom of the machine. All of the bolts fell off or snapped off. One of the two cement weights was snapped in half! The mounting anchors for the drum were snapped off. The drum was barely hanging in place. My clothes got ruined because of the sparks and smoke.

    I purchased a Samsung Washer Model: WA5451ANW/XAA 01 SER.NO: Y01X54BB600608B in 2011 and have had issues with this washer since then. I’ve reported the defective product to Samsung who refused to rectify the issue of the drum dropping, rusting top, & top knocking. They sent a technician once in 2014 to replace the drum & rusted top even after the issues continued they refused to help. They refused to help me after the nationwide recall. They claim because they worked on it before the recall can’t be honored. I have emails and pictures that I sent them and they still refuse. It is defective - the top knocks badly as if it will fly off, the drum still drops with 1/2 load of clothes, leaks water in my laundry room, still rusts in same places. I’ll locate the recall card they sent and still refused to honor the recall after I contacted them. This has been happening since the purchase of this defective washer , which is dangerous to operate. I put today’s date below because it is happening today and my laundry room has water in it , the drum dropped again, and water is leaking. It also has rust that they refused to fix. I’m afraid the top will fly off and cause bodily harm to myself or a child. I located a transaction # [REDACTED] & an email that I’ve sent to them but don’t recall the calls after then but I do know the recall was after 2016. I believe Samsung should at least give me 1/2 of the purchase price of $789.99 plus tax that I paid. It should be in their record regarding the natural recall and they should have where I called many times trying to get them to help me.     Our Samsung Front Load Washing Machine “exploded” three weeks ago on Mother’s Day, sending glass shards shrapnel flying everywhere, cutting my husbands hands as he turned the corner to inspect the noise and my feet as I tried to help him. I (the Mom of the household of 7) had been running it normally, and correctly, as always, with a medium-sized load of linens and some clothes on a warm, normal cycle. This is a Model Samsung WF50A8600AV purchased online from Home Depot in February of last year. For weeks, they have not resolved the issue... I do not even trust this product, even if they replaced it, since it seems this was a problem their old washers have and they never changed the engineering/design/ or manufacture to make it safe. I am too afraid to even accept repair or replacement (not that they have even done that, even after sending 3 separate repairmen appointments three different weeks- who all are pretty shocked by the machine and tell us “unofficially” that it’s not even worth repairing, but just replacing... plus they never clean the glass mess). I have FIVE little kids and pets to protect, and I believe this is a design/manufacturing/materials defect and that it is inherently dangerous. It is only a little over a year old, and they will not refund me my money for the set, not can they get their act together to resolve it any other way except by giving me the runaround and wearing me down with all the stress and frustration this has caused. It also caused property damage for the items inside and around the washer. It takes hours each day from my work and family and is just incredibly disheartening and angering that they are willing to risk my family’s health and safety over a few bucks when SAMSUNG is at fault and should be held accountable and should have learned from their last recall of the top-load washers for a similar/related defect issue. I want that dangerous machine that is still wielding glass shards that drop (I have it saran-wrapped so they are contained- hauled out of my house, but they won’t do that, they insist that they repair it to it’s original dangerous state, I suppose. It is an accident waiting to happen AGAIN. Why would I agree to another opportunity to have my family victimized by this “dirty bomb” in the form of an innocuous laundry machine. No thank you- no way. I want the set out of my house and refunded. I cannot stomach using a repaired or replaced version, but they have not even given me that after three weeks... The decision-makers are risking families mental and physical health here putting their bottom line before their responsibility and compassion and humanity.

    Samsung Front-Load Washer, Model WF50A8600AE/US, spun uncontrollably with loud, repeated banging noise during spin cycle. Washer is less than 1 year old. During a normal wash cycle of a normal size load of clothes, the spin cycle would not stop even tough it visually appeared to be unbalanced and shaking the washer violently. Unbalanced loads generally shut-down and spin slowly to rebalance load before spinning full power. Cautiously approach the washer to turned it off. Fear was that if it could not be approached and turned off that pieces of the machine could start breaking off as dangerous projectiles. Repair technician removed front panel of washer and took pictures that were sent to a Samsung technician that was called during the washer evaluation for repair. Found large outward dent on the bottom of door of washer. Large plastic component broken off of its steel mounting bolts and large hole at water fill level of washer drum. Water and small, round metal pieces (believed to be counter-balance weight components) were shot out from the front, drain compartment area. Heard the Samsung technician speaking with the onsite repair technician over speaker phone and the first thing asked by the Samsung technician was, “Was anyone hurt?”. Samsung technician concluded the washer machine is unrepairable. This model is currently unavailable/discontinued which appears to suggest this is a known manufacturer defect and is only being addressed by Samsung as the failures occur and are reported by consumers currently using their purchased washer machines.

    I purchased a Samsung Washer/Dryer 6/22/22 from Lowe’s in Madison, AL and they installed the unit. I noticed that the washer started making loud noise and the drum was thrashing in the body which progressively worsened. I called Samsung 1/3/223 to request immediate repair/sent video of the issue via test, they set up a contractor from [REDACTED] to come out to assess the issue. 1/10/23 [REDACTED] from [REDACTED] came out and stated there wasn’t an issue the machine needed balancing pegs, which they already had and closed the ticket 1/13/23. [REDACTED] advised that if the issue continued to call/text him, it got worse, and I did via text/phone only to be told to reach back out to Samsung and have them reassigned it to another company because he didn’t find anything wrong with it. I created another ticket/again sent video 1/23/23 and [REDACTED] was assigned the ticket on 1/24/23 and they canceled the visit the day they were supposed to come 1/27/23 and closed the ticket 1/30/23. I called Samsung/sent video again on 1/30/23 and spoke with [REDACTED] reassigned the ticket back to [REDACTED] on 2/4/23. A tech from [REDACTED] named [REDACTED] came out on 2/13/23 and assessed the machine to be defective, extremely dangerous, and unsafe and removed the circuit board so that no attempted to use it again. He stated that the magnets had failed causing the drum to come loose which he has seen numerous times in the Samsung washers lately, he also stated if the machine would have continued to be used it could have caused grave bodily harm because the drum was being tossed around with speed/tork. I called Samsung 2/14/23 requesting a refund and they attempted to force me to take a store credit at Lowe’s or wait approval for a replacement. I declined both options and demanded a refund, this is my 2nd set of Samsung washers/dryers in 5 years and they both have had major issues with how they were built. They FINALLY agreed to a refund and advised on steps required to refund me my money for providing me with a defective/dangerous product. I was advised that they would not retrieve the unit and that I would have to pay to have it removed and disposed of which I refused to accept, as they sold me a defective and dangerous item that put my safety at risk and I should not be expected to come out of pocket to remove the machine, I demanded this to be covered as well and a ticket was opened, per them. I completed the requirements on 2/16/23 and was advised that after uploading the final requirement I would receive a link from [REDACTED] to send me my refund. After waiting a few hours, I contacted Samsung again when I didn’t receive the link and was advised that I would get it in 24 hours. However, 24 hours letter I still had not received the link and again called 2/17/23 and spoke with [REDACTED] only to be told that it would take 2 business day. Two business days later I called and was told that it would be a total of 8 additional business days from the date I completed the final requirement. I requested issue escalation because of all of the misinformation and was told that I would receive a call in 2 business days, and no one ever called me back. I called again today, 2/22/23 to check with the status of the escalation and on my refund and spoke with [REDACTED] again who transferred me to [REDACTED] in Refunds who stated I should have had the issue resolved by now and he again escalated the issue and was told that I would receive a call back within 2 hours, no call. I would like my refund $964.84, and the machine removed.

I have the washer next to the dryer and was removing clothes from the dryer when I almost had my fingers smashed by the washer from the shaking of the tub in the inside of the washer machine. The sound of the moving machine which is in the garage is so loud we can here it upstairs on the second floor. I called Samsung to have repaired hoping still under warranty or a part may be on recall and the representative gave me the number for the appliance technician. I called three times to make an appointment and got no where. So I called Samsung again and the representative reached out to the technician then told me I would receive a text shortly to schedule appointment. This happened two more times where I had to call back Samsung and receive the text to schedule. After several attempts to make an appointment with the Samsung appliance technician they referred me to a local technician will now be on his third attempt at trying to repair an issue on the Samsung washer machine. My washer machine is just over two years old and to have this happen where I almost injured my hand and could have had something worse happen or happen to someone else in my family. Also, I have been dealing with this issue for three months now with laundry piling up. I paid $1,200 plus parts plus installation plus another couple of hundred of dollars for repairs, so I feel like I should not have to worry about any injuries and should be able to wash clothes for my family instead of having to take my clothes to laundromat or to a family member’s house.

    I went to Lowes to buy washer/dryer. The salesman pushed the features of the machines. He could see how short I am but never cautioned me how deep the washer is. I thought it was the way it sat in the store that made it seem I couldn’t reach bottom. Once it was delivered I took to reading the manual before use - took more than 48 hours which is their return window. When I went to wash my first load I tried to reach bottom and couldn’t. Trying to reach a small towel at the bottom pulled my shoulder out. They suggested I use a stool but that would out me off balance into the drum. I have since noticed how many people are as short or shorter than I, this is a problem. No injuries here yet. I am an adult user. Samsung Top load washer. Lowes will not take this unsafe product back and I can’t figure out how to get in touch with Samsung.

    The product, in the report: Samsung Flex Wash washing machine with a small load top washer and a front loading regular washer. I is black and silver and has a digital control panel. It also has a steam clean cycle.

    My Samsung Flex Wash washing machine was on the last spin cycle of a Normal Cycle with a normal sized load of clothes when it began to spin uncontrollably. It began to smoke gray to black smoke and smelled of burning plastic and rubber. I could not reach the electrical plug and had to run to our garage to the electrical box and kill the main power coming into our house. The washer continued to spin and smoke for an additional 3 minutes. I did not call the fire department but I did bring my kitchen fire extinguisher to the utility room. It is my belief that had I not been home during this event my home would have caught fire. Upon calling Lowes Protection department to file a claim for repairs and having their repair company A and E come to assess the washer for repairs, the repairman could not order parts as this was listed as being under research. The orginal event occurred on March 31, .2022 and as of this date June 2, 2022 there are no repairs available for this product. It is a Samsung Flex Washer Model #WV60M99OAV1A5 and was purchased on March 16, 2019. We believe this product will produce a fire at some point and we have removed it from our home.

    I purchased a new Samsung washer model WA45T3400AP from Home Depot that emits a burning smell when under load. There are many complaints on-line regarding failed clutch mechanism’s in this model and similar Samsung models. Many have reported a burning smell that led to friction fires and total failure of their Samsung washer clutch mechanism. I have been in contact with both Samsung and Home Depot regarding this issue and neither company will address the product defect and the pending fire hazard my washer presents. I had an authorized Samsung technician come out to evaluate the washer and he acknowledged this has been an on going problem with this model and similar Samsung washers for a long time. The technician stated that Samsung is aware of the problem and has been negligently avoiding their responsibility regarding this known defect and the fire hazard their washers present. He recommended that I stop using the washer and get a new one that is not a Samsung.

    Another issue with the washer is a lot of condensation forms on the control panel and runs down the front of washer.

    10/3/2021: The consumer used the washer and his home became flooded. A grey and black, plastic hose (not the drain or the fill hose) failed. Water spread out in more than 1 room and dripped from a room upstairs to a room downstairs and damaged the drywall ceiling. He called the manufacturer that same day, but was told to call back on Monday

    10/4/2021: The consumer called the manufacturer and their rep. (name unknown), looked it up and confirmed that his washer was a recalled item. The consumer said he was never notified about the recall and asked why. The rep. said she was new, but believed that the firm sent out notifications. The consumer said he never received it. The consumer was given a phone number to have a technician come out. The consumer called that number several times and he finally spoke with someone today 10/6/2021. They are not able to send out a tech. until a week later.

    The consumer called the firm back and was told that a tech. could not be sent out till late October 2021. The rep. also confirmed that the washer was included in the recall, but the problem he had was not related to the recall.

    This machine has been giving us trouble for weeks and we keep trying to find remedies but the problems with it persist. It is the WA45H7000AW/A2 Samsung washing machine. There are multiple issues, 1. the machine will sometimes not turn on, 2. the cycle sometimes does not finish and stays stuck, 3. the vibration when the machine is spinning is so strong sometimes that the entire machine shakes, then it will turn off and not continue, 4. it will keep beeping mid wash when it stops and we have to then finish the spin in smaller sections which is a huge inconvenience. Sometimes all of these happen together, sometimes separately, it’s been going on for years now but becoming more and more frequent, it turned into every few months, then monthly, and now it is just about every other wash that we try to do.

    The consumer said that the firm told him the washer was included in CPSC Recall #17-028.

    The washer started spinning out of control to the point the consumer thought it would disintegrate. He called an appliance repair person and was referred to the manufacturer, because the repair tech. said the washer was under recall.

    The consumer said he eventually found out that he could not place a full load of clothing in the washer. They had to wash 3 or 4 articles at a time, because if they did more, it would shake violently during use.

    6/2021: The consumer has called the firm’s recall phone number (866-264-5636), a total of 13 times.

    The first 12 times, he repeatedly gave the representatives all of his contact information (name, phone, address, email, washer’s model/serial#) .     7/15/2021: The consumer followed up with the firm again and they said that they have been trying to contact him, but they had a bad phone number. The consumer said each time he spoke with them, he provide his phone number and documented the previous 12 times that he called. The consumer also pointed out that the firm sent him an email, which he responded to, so they could corresponded with him through that method as well.

    The consumer was placed on hold for approximately 25 minutes, while the rep. searched for a supervisor. He could not find one, but told the consumer that one would call him back. He never received a call or an email.

    I have a Samsung top loading washer. Model #WA52M7750AV/A4 back in I wanna say August or September of 2020 we had an issue where the lid of the washer broke without any rhyme or reason. I believe this is caused because the hinges to the lid are metal and are on tension. So they don’t move freely, there is some sort of tensioner inside where they connect that add tension and prevent the lid from moving freely and dropping. Only issue is these metal hinges are then housed inside the plastic lids and over time the plastic isn’t strong enough to continue to house these metal hinges and it breaks down eventually to the point where the hinges just bust out of the plastic lid. Which was the case for me in Aug/Sept of 2020. I had just finished loading a wash and I went to close the lid to be able to start the load and the plastic area of the lid holding the hinge in pretty much cracked and popped open and the hinge busted through. When this happened plastic did shoot off and just barely missed shooting me in the eye. It instead hit my face and bounced off thankfully. At this time the glass lid was also freed from its housing within the lid unit and almost slipped and fell to the ground. Fortunately I was able to catch it in time. My belief is this issue causes a potential safety issue due to the fact the glass can break and cause serious injury as well as the projectile plastic shooting off when it breaks could cause injury to the face and or eyes. Since you cannot predict when this may occur the only way to be safe is to wear safety goggles while doing laundry. I also believe this is a defect in the design because after it happened I went to do research and found that it seemed to be a very common break on the machine and there were numerous complaints about this happening. It even seemed to happen more frequently with the left hinge and that’s exactly the one thst burst out first in my case too. I have alerted Samsung to this defect but they have refused to acknowledge it as such and claimed that the damage was “extreme physical damage” due to user error and thus they would not originally cover the repair under my extended warranty I purchased. After dropping terms like defect. Design flaw, class action lawsuit and recall ... they did however have a change of heart and covered the repair. Though that cause another array of issues since broken pieces from the lid itself somehow got inside the machine during the repair and ultimately ended up clogging up the drain pump which they also claimed was my fault and made me pay for. So I am now currently fighting that issue as well.

    We have a SAMSUNG front loader washing machine and dryer purchased 11/172020. During the self clean phase the glass in the door of the washer exploded spraying water and glass all over our laundry room

    The SAMSUNG washer exploded blowing the glass door out. This left glass and water all over the floor and glass water inside the machine. This happened during the self- clean cycle. Anyone walking by or in the laundry room would have been hit by the glass leading to, at a minimum, cuts over their body and possibly hospitalization.

    Purchased Model WF45T6000AW from Best Buy on 10 Nov 2020 received 17 Nov 2020. On 20 Feb 2021 I noticed the writing on the front panels of the washer had smeared. Called in a request for Service appointment was set for 1 Mar 2021. On 27 Feb after washing a load the machine flashed the self-clean button. (This is supposed to be done after every 40 loads.). I put the wet clothes in the dryer and then cut on the self-clean cycle. I left the laundry room and five minutes later the machine exploded. There was glass and water all over our laundry room floor and inside the machine. I was thankful I was not in the room. I called this in immediately after my husband and I cleaned up the laundry room. The SAMSUNG rep told us he was amending our repair order to include this problem. When the repair person arrived on 1 Mar, he didn’t see anything about the explosion on his order, but he took pictures, forwarded them to SAMSUNG and waited on their guidance. They would only replace the panel with the smeared writing. They refused to authorize the repair of the rest of the machine. I had to call several times after this to try and get the entire machine repaired or replaced or receive a complete refund. The appliance repair company is scheduled to come out a second time on 11 March. This machine scares us because no one at SAMSUNG seems concerned about WHY it exploded! They told me since no one was hurt they must try and repair it instead of just issuing a refund.

    We have had our Samsung Washer Model# WA56H9000AP for almost 5 years. We have had to call on repairs numerous times. There were no injuries to report from this most recent incident. After the recall, someone came out and gave it “the fix” and there have always been issues ever since. Leaks, doesn’t hold fabric softener, constant un-balancing (even with just a few towels), crazy loud spinning, jolting of machine and then it needs to be reset. This unbalancing happened again this past week. The load consisted of 2 light weight blankets and 3 towels. Now the machine won’t work at all. When we turn it on and select our setting, press start, no water comes out. It only makes the drain sound, as if it were draining and starting a spin cycle. A Sears repairman came out in December and replaced the water valve system, due to a big leak - and now it won’t work at all. Our friend looked at it and thinks there is something wrong with the mother board. We are frustrated that we spend so much money on this machine, plus spent an extra $750 for the extended warranty to have so many issues almost the life of the machine. We appreciate any help we can get. Thank you.

    I purchased a samsung top load washer in late 2018 Model number WA52M7750AV/A4 serial number 0F5H5DDKA02555P after I had it a year the right corner of the lid where it connects to the washer popped up and wouldn’t pop back into place. This broke and cracked the lid. Now the left corner has done exactly the same thing. I use my washer on a daily basis. And I have only had it about 2 years. Nothing has been put on top of the washer and the lid stays shut when not in use. There is no logical reason for this to have happened. This is the 2nd samsung product purchased in the last five years that I have had issues with. I love this washer but dont feel I should have to replace the lid after only 2 years. For the amount of money that I paid for the machine I feel that it should last longer than 2 years before having to repair or replace. I could understand if it was an electrical part, I know things happen and they tear up but this is unacceptable.
