The product, in the report: Frigidaire ES100 Control with Gas Sealed Burners and Broiler Drawer.
This morning, when I went into my kitchen I noticed that the glass oven door of my gas range had shattered. There were shards and pieces of glass and broken plastic all around my kitchen floor in the area of the gas range. The oven had not been used in over a week. I am unsure what happened, as it clearly occurred overnight, when no one was in the kitchen. Thankfully so, as it could have been much worse had the oven been in use or others in the vicinity of the appliance.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire gas stove/range
On our Frigidaire range, you can have the burner knobs set to a position where gas will be coming out, but the ignitors will not be sparking. After speaking with Frigidaire customer support, this is normal and how they make gas stoves. This can also happen by accident. My wife was reaching for something in the cabinet above the range, and she accidently pushed in the knob and turned it to that position. She did that without knowing what happened. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the stove or the ignitors, this, apparently is how Frigidaire makes gas stoves. The first time this happened, we noticed a strange smell in our house. It did not smell like the normal gas smell. At the time, we had a cat and I thought that is was a urine smell from her. After several hours of smelling and sniffing, I finally found the stove was leaking gas. This is extremely dangerous and I cannot believe that they are even allowed to make stuff like this.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire FFGF3015LW.30” Freestanding Gas Range -- white
Less than 2 years ago, our hotel purchased 18 Frigidaire FFGF3015LW.30” Freestanding Gas Ranges. We have had 4 incidents where the stove was leaking gas into the room and potentially could have injured our guests. The knob is supposed to only turn when pushed in, however the units are starting to fail and many of these knobs can be turned without having to push in and when in the off position gas is still leaking. The stoves are dangerous and defective. We have stoves which are 20 years old and do not have this problem, nor have we ever had a problem. This item should be recalled before someone is seriously injured.

The product, in the report: Gas Range
The handles to operate the stove top are located directly above the oven door. She says the handle heats up so much she cannot touch the knobs or the handle.
She used temperature strips to measure the temperature on the handles which she said read at 140 degrees. The consumer says this is a burn risk to consumer’s including children.
The handle to the stove top is made of metal which is why she thinks it heats up so much, the oven door handle is more of a hollow aluminum.
She says that near the oven are vents where the heat escapes. She says the vent grills are facing upward toward the handles instead of facing downward toward the ground.
Incident date 12-9-2011 to current.

The product, in the report: Stainless steel black top 11 month old Frigidaire oven in kitchen of ranch home. Model #FFGF3053LSE Serial # VFO4680542
It was Monday March 26th late afternoon. I turned my Frigidaire gas range on to cook brownies. The oven was on approximately for an hour. As the brownies cooked I worked in the kitchen. Just after taking the brownies out, what I thought was the smoke detector started to sound. After a few minutes I realized it was the carbon monoxide detector. Eventually I decided I had no choice but to call the Lynn, MA fire department. They told me to exit the house and wait on the porch for them. When they arrived I walked back in the house with them and explained what had happened. They immediately went to my furnace and cleared that. They then took their CO detector to my oven and said get out. They pushed me and my dog to fresh-air opened all my windows and doors and red tagged my oven. My oven was tagged at 56ppm’s. This reading was approximately 40 minutes after the oven had been turned off. I was light headed an experiencing headaches but waited until about 18 hours after the incident to go to the doctor. The CO in my blood was higher than it should have been. I spent a week trying to reach a repair person. The stove is under warranty and I can only use their techs. None would call me back. On Tuesday April 3rd Frigidaire sent a repair person to my home. He said their was nothing wrong with the oven. He did not check for CO. I made him come back the next day and he refused to sign off on the red tag put their by the fire department. Per order of the fire department he had to disconnect the stove. I also contacted the gas company and they tested and found high levels of CO coming from the stove. Frigidaire says my only option is to have one of their so called qualified techs to come to my home and talk to tech support and fix the problem, then if they can’t fix it they will replace it. He said he can’t just replace on a phone call I do not want this Doctor Kevorkian oven in my home. It has been deemed condemned by the Fire Department and is marked dangerous equipment, do not operate. This is a safety hazard and thank God I have carbon monoxide detectors, but what about the young pregnant mom cooking Thanksgiving dinner for six to eight hours. Please help. This is a Frigidaire oven model # FFGF3053LSE Serial # VFO4680542. Please contact [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] if you have any further questions. Thank You

The consumer says when someone leans on the stove, the burners will ignite. Also, the burners turn on by themselves. She says the other day, her son leaned up against the stove and the front and the back burner both lit up and almost caught her son’s shirt on fire. The consumer contacted the manufacturer who said that they do not have a safety division. They have offered no assistance.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gallery Gas Stove
The issue is safety with the Frigidaire Gallery Gas Stove. You can accidently bump the control knobs. The gas will start flowing slowly and you cannot tell until you start smelling gas, without trying to flame. I called Frigidaire company just to warn them, this could result in a dangerous situation , the customer service rep said there was nothing they could do. There should be some kind of safety device that will stop the gas flow if it does not heat.

The product, in the report: 30” Freestanding Gas Range with 4 Sealed Burners, Square Steel Grates, 4.2 cu. ft. Oven Capacity, Ready-Select Controls and Broiler Drawer: Black
In February 2011, I brought a stove from AJ Madison. When it was delivered it was awkward to install. I noticed a switchboard control, located on the rear top, weakly installed. This switchboard controls the oven temperature and gets very hot, like 350F. Several months later, this switchboard fell off, near the rear flames on the stove top. and is makes a buzzing sound. I usually place it back in the slot, like depicted in the picture attached.

The product, in the report: Gas range (4 Burners)
Consumer stated her gas range grates are coated with some kind of hard surfacing, something like (porcelain), whenever she is using the burners (front right and left rear) the coating breaks off and discharges on the floor and on her body. This incident has caused burnt marks to her linoleum flooring, and she had received mild burns to her chest. No medical attention was needed.
7/2011 Consumer contacted the manufacturer and left a message, however no one had returned her phone call, she will send them an email as well.
1/11/12 Consumer contacted the retailer and was advised that the problem she is experiencing is a cosmetic flaw. Consumer feels that this gas range is a fire hazard and should be reported.

This is a potential danger because if you are not awair of this you could have a gas explosion. You must stop at the ignite possion until the burner ignites. This happenened but I notesed it right away and was able to correct it. Please look into this problem before any gets hurt. Thank you.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gallery model FGGF305MKFA 30” Free-standing gas range
Excess natural gas filled kitchen from malfunctioning gas oven ignitor. Malfunction occurred after oven reached operating temperature and into 20-30 minutes of operation.
Range/oven is a Frigidaire Gallery model FGGF305MKFA purchased in 2009. After reporting this to Frigidaire and expressing our concerns about safety, the only reply is a form letter to have it serviced by one of their authorized service centers. The range/oven only carries a one year warranty.
Range is only two years old and oven is only used about 15 times a year. Online research reveals that a weak ignitor is the cause. The gas odor was quite strong raising our fears of an explosion.

The product, in the report: Gas Oven/Stove
A Frigidaire Gas Range, Model number FPGF3081KF, was turned on to start cooking, after several minutes while waiting for it to warm, we noticed the smell of gas. The oven was warm so some of the burners were working. I blew into the chamber and could hear that one of the burners then lit.
By this time our house was filled with gas. Be that it is November in Chicago, the windows to our house were closed. We opened them to clear out the gas. The Fire Department was not called.
This expensive model was purchased slightly over one year ago, and the oven is perfectly clean. We use the oven on average 3 times a week.

The product, in the report: Gas Range
Caller was referred by Lombard Fire Dept after he explained to them that new gas range purchased October 1st, 2011 from Grant’s Appliances & Electronics in Downers Grove, [REDACTED] mgr & salesrep.
Range was delivered on October 3rd around 1:30 - 2:00.
Wife began cooking same day around 4:00pm October 3rd, 2011, after approximately 30 - 40 minutes when she called for her husband, asked him to touch the knobs on the range.
The knobs which were so hot that he had to withdraw his hands.
Husband called Frigidaire who referred him to D&S, he called them, tech came out October 10th, 2011, tech said he had to leave but he returned around October 12th although techs paper shows the 10th only. When he came out on the 12th, he wrote, “ Ran for 40 minutes, 165 degrees behind the knobs, allowable 150 degrees”.
Consumer contacted Frigidaire again and tech was sent for 3rd visit but this time tech came from Diamond Factory, he told wife that it was a flaw in the system of the design that he would not write that on the ticket and wrote only that the range could normally go up to 165 degrees & nothing they can do about it
Caller noted that if grandchildren were to touch the knobs at any time they could become burned.
Consumer had contacted Electrolux, spoke with [REDACTED] who told him that after 3 tech visits then range would be replaced.
Consumer called Electrolux again today, spoke [REDACTED] who is going to “try” but she doesn’t believe that there is anything they can do.
Caller is reporting as a safety hazard siting that user or any children nearby could be burned.
His wife is afraid to use the range and would request that the manufacturer replace range with a different model at manufacturer expense.

Three weeks ago,l installed my new Frigidaire range, however, I feel it is a fire hazard because the oven controller has fallen out of its hole. Initially, the oven controller was glued in a rectangular slot inside the range, but the glue was not nearly enough to stabilize this controller to function when pressed, after several weeks, the glue gave out, and now the controller must be placed horizontally across the hole. Occasionally, the controller has a habit of falling near the back burners, which could cause a fire immediately or an electrical flre, because the wiring that is attached to the oven controller gets very hot when the oven is on.

The product, in the report: Black gas slide-in range-Fridgidaire. Model Number = FGGS3045KBA Serial Number = NF00324195 Purchase Date = 2/10/10
We purchased a gas range, Frigidaire model # FGGS3045KBA, serial #NF00324195, on February 10, 2010. My husband and I are senior citizens and no children live in the home. Therefore, we maintain our appliances and use them properly. Just after the warranty expired, the handle on the oven fell off. The screws holding it on have a very agressive thread design and only go into the handle about 3/16 to 1/4 inch. Therefore, it is not a secure fit, very inadequate, and cannot be repaired since it is a design flaw. It is extremely difficult to open a hot oven door without a handle.
The control panel laminate is cracking and blistering. This is not due to any cleaning chemicals since we use a microfiber cloth to clean it. Soon the push button controls will be difficult or impossible to read and therefore, it could inadvertantly be set for self clean instead of turning oven off.
They were contacted and gave their condolences but do not agree there is any problem. There is no fix to the shallow screw depth on the handle or the delamination of the control panel.

The product, in the report: Fridgidaire Gallery Free standing stove/oven Color is Black model number LGGF3032KBH
Stove controls on side of unit can be accidently turned on without notice, or ignition of flame, gas is then spread into home without detection.
I left my house to go to the store at night, my mother and brother were sleeping. When I left there was NO odor of natural gas in the house. Upon returning, the entire home reaked of the rotten egg odor that is placed in natural gas. I immediately opened all the windows and doors then woke up my family to make sure everyone was safe. Had I not gone to the store and went to bed this could have turned out very differently.
