The product, in the report: 36” glass top cook top range
My Samsung NE63T8751SS electric range turns on too easy . Sometimes if you accidentally lean against the controls the burners or the oven will turn on without me knowing. Also when just cleaning the front panel the warming burner turned on , It was on for hours before I noticed a burning smell from a stovetop cover. I realize it has a warning light , the problem is just cleaning the panel with a cloth turned it on.

The product, in the report: Bespoke
I bought a Samsung electric range (NE63A8711QN/AA) a while back and the stove knobs have been bumped a few times and have accidentally been turned on. I looked for child proof locks after realizing this could be a problem but with the design of this range I have not found safety locks that work. Range was bought in August of 2023. On 2/5/24 one of my dogs must have been counter surfing while I was at work and bumped two of the knobs turning them both on. I dont know how long they were on but I was gone for probably 10 hours. Luckily there was nothing setting on the stove because when I arrived home I walked in to a very hot and burnt smelling house. My spice shakers I keep on the back of the stove had been melted. And my cabinets next to the stove are slightly discolored. Which is nothing in the grand scheme. But this could have been much worse and quite devastating in different circumstances.

The product, in the report: 2018 Samsung Electric Range model NE58K9430
We have a 2018 Samsung Electric Range model NE58K9430. There is a fire hazard with the burner knobs. If the knob is barely touched the burner turns on. This is a dangerous fire hazard. If a piece of paper or cloth touches the burner it could ignite. You don’t know that the burner is on because you didn’t turn it on. This is an ongoing problem and has been happening for quite a while. I finally sat down and reported it.

On November 21st, 2023 as a fire investigator for Evergreen Fire Rescue, I responded to a fire that occurred on a stove top. The results of that inspection found that the knobs of the stove were inadvertently activated when combustibles on the stove made contact with the knobs. On January 10th, 2024, in the same capacity, I responded to another fire that had occurred on the stove top. Again, combustible object placed on the stove contacted the knobs and energized the burners. In both cases the stoves were Samsung Model NE63A6511SS and appear to be manufactured approximately one month apart.

No one hurt Made Dec 21, 2023, sent to the company Jan 10, 2024, published by CPSC Jan 26, 2024
The product, in the report: Samsung Oven Model Number NE63A6751SG/AA. Serial number 0JEA7DCW200183J.
Samsung sent a technician to my home today to service my under warranty oven model number NE63A6751SG. The oven features a large front right burner that allows the switch to switch between three “burners” large, medium, and small. The switch indicates which eye you are choosing to illuminate. The switch is permanently stuck on high regardless of what level the switch is moved to. The eye continues to cycle on and off, as though it’s functioning correctly, making the user unaware that the burner is set to the highest heat available. The service technician had to change the switch three times. He told us that this was a known problem by Samsung and as proof, the three switches he had to use to repair our oven on this visit.
I am making this report because the way we discovered this problem was our 16 year old daughter was cooking with cast iron on low heat and the cast iron pan caught on fire causing us to have to douse the oven and pan with flour to diminish the flames. We were unequipped with a fire extinguisher at the time. We’ve remedied that problem. Had we not known how to diminish a kitchen fire, our entire home could have burned down or worse, loss of life. I’d like for Samsung to recall/repair this problem on other American stoves to prevent a tragedy. It’s unsettling to know that Samsung may be aware of this problem and is treating the symptom instead of the root cause. This is a potential life/safety issue and should be the subject of a potential recall.

The product, in the report: Electric Range
Caller stated that the screws on the range does not tighten up which melted the connection block. He stated that the screws came out making contact and caused a contained fire in the rear of the range. The manufacturer was contacted, and a service technician came out. The company then informed him that it was an installation issue, however, the problem is on the factory side and not an installation issue.
Caller feels that this range is a fire hazard and should be reported.

The product, in the report: Samsung glass top range
Ordered pizza and placed it stovetop. Daughter accidentally leaned on a stovetop knob. After a few minutes we heard a noise and found the pizza box completely engulfed in flame. Luckily was able to extinguish the flame.
Several years before, I placed my lunchbox, made of canvas, on the stove and accidentally hit a knob when doing so. When I smelled the smoke, the lunchbox was fully involved. Luckily the ice pack and ruptured and slowed the spreading fire. I was able to safely remove the lunchbox to my porch.
Too many times to remember, I’ve leaned on the knob while reaching for the spice cabinet above the stove and bumped a knob and turned on a burner. This is extremely easy to do just by bumping a knob.

The product, in the report: Samsung double electric stove and range.
My mother leaned up against our Samsung electric range with the knobs on the front. The knobs are very sensitive and will turn on the burner if you bump them even slightly. The burner turned on high and the oven tray sitting on top of the stove melted to the glass top. The house filled with smoke. When it cooled, it popped off and took a piece of the glass with it. I have tried contacting Samsung but they are dismissive and tell me to get child locks. They don’t make child locks that fit!

The product, in the report: Smooth-top, electric range with oven (with wifi app control)
10/20/2023: The range’s front right (large) burner turned on by itself and caused a fire. The consumer used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. A loaf of bread was sitting on the stove at the time, and it caught fire.
The kitchen was filled with soot and soot also spread to the new cabinets and her microwave.
Same day, the consumer called the manufacturer and reported this matter to them. She was given a Reference Number: [REDACTED].
After the stove was installed, the consumer noticed that the slightest touch to the controls could cause the range burners to come on. The oven has a touchscreen control but has turned on by itself numerous times. The consumer has been unplugging the range/oven when it’s not in use.
10/24/2023: A manufacturer’s technician came out but did not check the range/oven. The technician simply wrote that there was physical damage to the range and left. The consumer said that the damage was due to the fire and nothing else.
• NOTE: The consumer saw numerous reports on-line, about this issue with other owners of this manufacturer’s range.
The consumer has just remodeled her kitchen and purchased new appliances. She paid approximately $1000 for the range/oven, on sale.

The product, in the report: Samsung NE59J7630SS 30 Inch Freestanding Electric Range
We were preheating our oven, a Samsung Model NE59J7630SS, when we heard a pop from the stove and then flames came out the back top of stove. We exited the house and called 911. The fire was out by the time they arrived, as the breaker shut off and there was nothing near the stove to act as fuel and carry the flames to our walls and cabinets. Our house and we are safe; however we have a big mess to clean up with smoke, ash, and electrical fire smell. The control panel is melted and I found this website describing exactly what occured, which has happened to many others:[REDACTED]. I do not see that a recall has been issued.

The product, in the report: Flat top 5 burner electric stove and oven
I have purchased a Samsung Flat Top stove within the last year serial # 0J4C7DAT60019X. The stove when steam comes out of a pot or the oven causes the middle burner and the oven to turn on. This then cycles on and off continuously. The repair person for Samsung stated to at first not boil water on the stove and that it is a defective design and there is nothing they can due. The stove now is tripping the circuit breaker in the panel box. The fact that the stove comes on automatically is a safety and fire hazard along with breakers tripping.

Samsung electric range model #NE59J7630SS/AA control panel caught fire during a baking cycle. This caused a 10 inch long black scorch mark on the back wall above the stove, nearly setting my house on fire.

My husband was walking by our smooth-top electric range and barely touched the range top knob with his hip. This was not a direct hit or heavy hit. My aprons were on the cooking surface in the back and no one was cooking anything at that time. Unknown to us, the range burner turned on. I suddenly smelled smoke and yelled for help. He scooped the burning aprons into a steel bowl and watered them in the kitchen sink, then threw them out on the lawn, as the smoke was noxious. He have owned this range since ordering it from Wayfair on Jan. 4, 2021, and several times in the past, we have accidentally leaned over to stir the food on the back burners and unintentionally adjusted the heat with our bodies. We also have many times turned on the oven by skimming the control panel between the burner knobs. The controls on this range are dangerously easy to unintentionally turn on.

The product, in the report: Slide-In Electric Range
Stove burners come on accidently if bumped. Samsung’s web page rebuts that the knobs must both be pushed in and turned, which is true, but this does not make it safe. Both movements do happen simultaneously by simply brushing by the panel with your torso or by an object being carried. It has happened to us at least a half-dozen times in the 3 weeks we have owned it. (It was purchased by the seller of a condo we bought a few weeks before we closed. It had never been used.) My wife cannot hear the high-frequency, low volume chime that accompanies the movement of the knob. Twice we have discovered the inadvertent activation some time later by the glowing surface. The stove is a Samsung Slide-In Electric Range Model NE63T8111SG/AA. Samsung’s web site recommends purchase of expensive, inconvenient and unsightly child-proof covers. Ridiculous and irresponsible. At at minimum, there should be a lock-out for the knobs, as there is for the oven.

The product, in the report: electric range with oven
Early June 2023: The electrical wiring behind the stove caught fire and flames were emitted from the back of the oven. The oven was set to 350 degrees and the oven had finished pre-heating and had been on for 5 minutes or less.
The consumer turned the oven off and the flames quickly died out.
There is some charring and soot damage to the backsplash, behind the stove.
The consumer called the manufacturer, and a technician was sent out to assess the situation.
The technician confirmed that the problem was not related to any outside issues. Therefore, manufacturer covered the cost of rewiring the stove and replaced the motor, at no expense to the consumer.

The product, in the report: Induction Oven Stove top induction, oven electric
Caller stated that the induction oven was delivered on March 23, 2023, had a toxic odor, she was told that she needed to heat up the range for several hours and let the home ventilate before using it, also to clean it thoroughly after using it to cook. Caller stated that she did that for several hours and it still had the odor. She stated that she used the oven to bake bread, but it burnt the top of the bread, and the content was uncooked. Caller stated that she tried to bake again and noticed that the range changed from bake to broil while watching the oven.
Caller stated that she contacted the retailer and the manufacturer, she was informed by the manufacturer that they would not replace the unit because it was over 48 hours. Caller stated that she noticed several similar complaints about these units online. Caller would like the manufacturer to provide her with a new replacement, because there is still a toxic odor, and the unit changes the mode spontaneously by itself.
Caller feels that this induction oven is a fire hazard and should be recalled.

The product, in the report: Kitchen stove, electic
Electic Stove: Samsung 30 in. 6.3 cu. ft Slide-in Electric Range Model NE63T8111SS. Background: We noticed in January 2023 the top right stove burner was inadvertly turned on and melted a plastic container on the stovetop. I am not clear how the stove burner was inadvertently turned on. The burner control knob on the front panel has to be pushed in and turned for the burner to heat up. Perhaps when the cook is cleaning the stove top, the control knob is inadvertently push in and turned then does not notice the orange color heat indicator on the stove top. On March 3, 2023 about 5pm, we experienced a neighborhood power outage (probably due to downed trees from storms). The power was restored March 4 about 2:30 am while we were asleep. At about 5 am, our kitchen smoke alarm was sounding and woke us up. I rushed to the kitched and saw smoke and fire on the stovetop. My wife was already attempting to extinguish the fire when the fire flared up and caught her hair on fire. She quickly extinguished her hair and rushed to the bathroom while I turned off the front right stovetop burner and continued to extinguish the remaining flames. Apparently, the stovetop burner was inadvertently turned on during the power outage and became hot when power was restored. Our house would have burned down if my wife and I had not extinguished the fire. After the fire was extinguished, I rushed my wife to the emergency room where she was found to have 2nd degree burns on her right hand, face, and neck. She still is suffering physically from the effects of the fire.

The product, in the report: Black 30” slide in electric range
I have a Samsung Range which I bought on 31st August,2021. Since I bought the stove I have been having problems with the knobs turning on with just a slight touch causing the burners to turn on without my knowledge. Before I realized it my food is still cooking. No one can mistake and go close by the stove and mistakenly touch the knobs , it will turn on. During Christmas I was not cooking a ything so I put my kitchen scale on top of the stove and was mixing my cake when I must have not knowingly touch the knob and my scale got burnt. By smelling the smoke I realized the stove was on. Again around the 12th February,2023 I had a cabinet installer and he left a hand towel on top of the stove, the next thing the towel started burning. That could have caused a fire. I had pressed the lock for all the knobs but they failed to lock and was turned on again mistakenly by my son who was helping putting away my grocery.

The product, in the report: As described before the problem is an immediate safetly concern for small children and will result in a suffication if a child is trapped inside. Samsung Electric Range Model NE59*663*** standard range/oven. It will lock anytime of the day when not in use trapping what is inside in an air tight compartment with little air.
Samsung 2020 Electric Range/Oven Model ME59*663*** oven door locks for no reason and thus if a child were playing around this would become trapped inside and die from suffocation since oven is air tight. This will happen even if no one is near the oven and not in use. It has happened over dozen times in the last two months. Home Depot will not honor their warranty program on this matter. It is noted in the Samsung user manual on page 33 that this is a know problem and gives troubleshooting tips. I feel that this problem is becoming not an isolated issue but problematic in old models of three years or more.
UPDATED ON 2/27/2023: [I have included my current attempt to have this problem addressed and fixed. But have run into many roadblocks. I have included the email address of Home Depot points of contact on the Cc line as reference and contact phone number of [REDACTED]. Attached are emails that I have traded with them. Also I forgot to address that this problem is widely published on [REDACTED] and other sites to show that it is becoming a serious issue which will only have a tragic outcome. Again I want to point out that this oven lockout will happen anytime of the day and when the range/oven is not in use.

The product, in the report: Samsung M/C: NE58K9850WG/AA Note: this is a dual zone samsung oven/range. We do not use it in the dual zone mode (there was no divider in the oven).
The product in use was a Samsung Electric Oven Model Number NE58K9850WG. We were cooking a Sunday roast in conventional baking mode at 275F. The oven had been on and steady for approximately four hours when my wife smelled smoke. I looked in the oven to see the broiler (top of oven) was red hot. The black knob of our dutch oven was smoking (source of the smoke smell). We were very lucky to be home at the time and nobody was injured. I tested the oven again later in the evening, and again, when in bake mode the broilers turned on. The oven was manufactured in June 2019, and we purchased it new from Costco in August 2019. I became more disturbed when two minutes of [REDACTED] searching revealed that many others with Samsung ovens are encountering this dangerous issue.

All knobs were turned off on the stovetop. If we had been gone any longer I am certain my kitchen would have caught fire.

The control panel got so hot we could not leave a finger on the surface. We believe not only is the product defective, it poses a fire hazard.

The product, in the report: Samsung 30” free-standing electric range and oven.
Exterior of the oven door, immediately behind the handle (and below it where a toddler can reach) is excessively hot. Measure w/ by an IR temperature device at above 145F. I had to put non-reflective tape on as the device I had will not read on stainless. One of them (the 151 F) is from a video and is the peak temp recorded. I sustained a minor, 1st degree burn. It lasted about 3 hours. No medical attention was needed beyond some [REDACTED]. I have been trying to get Samsung to address with this some urgency (since 12/29) but it’s been over 2 weeks and is being treated as a business-as-usual “inconvenience” to use their words. A 2nd tech is supposed to come tomorrow, Friday the 13th.

The product, in the report: Samsung Electric Range Model NE 63T8311SS
I purchased a Samsung Model NE63T8311SS stove from Sanyo Appliance in Memphis, TN. The stove was not connected immediately as we were in the process of remodeling the kitchen. There are 4 adults living in my home (no children). We noticed when we started using the stove that if anybody touched the front control (leaning to stir a pot, or remove something front stove) that burners would ignite. This happened 3-4 times in October, 2022. On November 23, we were all eating dinner when someone noticed smoke coming from kitchen. We found one of the burners had turned on. I contacted Samsung and told them of our incidents. They assigned a ticket number [REDACTED]. They said they could have someone come out to test the controls and I advised the stove was no longer installed and was in my garage. They told me their manual advised people NOT to lean on stove (manuals are never read until item is delivered). This is a faulty design, not carelessness by an adult.

Samsung Electric Range Glass Top erupted and failed while I was cooking on the large front burner. The glass top popped 3 times and cracked across the top. Busted the glass upward under the pot and made the pot liquid splash out as it slide to the side of the stove top. It was a loud 3 pop sound and the whole glass top is cracked from side to side. It is unusable. The Technician they sent did nothing. Did not visually or physically attempt to inspect. Said, it was user error and my fault the glass top failed. Electric range I have only owned for 45 days. It is under warranty but nothing has been fixed.

When using Samsung oven NE58R9431SS/A, I was baking at 350 degrees F - i left the kitchen for a while and came back to find that the oven had switched on the broiler, even though oven was set to bake. The heat was about 600 degreesF and I couldn’t switch the oven off - I had to turn off house electricity to shut the oven down. This has now happed at least 6 times since October. This is a 3 year old oven and I contacted Samsung to report the fault and get the oven fixed. They have informed me that the part is not longer available and they would not be able to help - left high and dry and Samsung not taking this issue seriously!

The product, in the report: 30 in. 6.3 cu. ft. Slide-In Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Oven in Black Stainless Steel
My teen son and one of his friends, just arriving home from school one afternoon, went into the kitchen in search of food while waiting on me before we all headed out together. My son moved a large cupcake carrier with lid off the bar counter in order to make room for the leftover pizza box his friend had just retrieved from the fridge. His friend grabbed 2 slices and heated them up in the microwave, each kid still chewing on pizza as we were driving down the road a minute later. Not even 5 minutes later we had parked at the bike shop when my alarm company called me. They let me know my fire alarm was reporting an incident and asked me if they needed to send the fire department. I was in shock, there was no way there was an issue, we literally just left. I told them not to send anyone yet, left the kids at the bike shop, and raced the not even 5 minute drive back home. I should have known better, that fire alarm doesn’t go off unless something is truly happening. I live in a townhome and when I pulled up I was already able to see my house was full of smoke from the windows, my dog’s face pressed eagerly in the window closest to the door. I hit fire panic on my alarm app, yes! Send right away!! At the same time I was running to the door and let my dog out, telling her to jump in the [REDACTED] (she did, good girl). The neighbor to my right wasn’t home, but on my left was, a mom younger than me with her 4 year old. I banged on her door and was able to yell inside to her to get outside asap. Then I ran back to my place, I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was so thick I couldn’t see much further than a few feet in front of me either, but our cat that had been with us, my son, since the divorce when he was 5 was still inside. I covered my face and tried to go through the house, but couldn’t stay long between the burn in my chest and my eyes, made my way out to my neighbor yelling at me to get out. The fire department finally showed up after what felt like forever, but they were really just right around the corner. They put on the whole show with the masks, dragging out the hoses, raising the ladders.... haven’t seen so many of my neighbors in can’t remember how long. Thankfully the hoses did not get turned on. The firemen had asked if I knew where it was starting from and I had answered no clue. Well, before they turned on the water, one guy cameout with a melting, little flames here and there gooey blob, dropped it on the road and they put it out, telling the others to cut the water to the hoses. It was the cupcake carrier. It had gotten moved over on top of the stove and the stove was accidentally turned on when the kids leaned up/over to heat up the pizza. I had recently been debating about suspending my alarm services to save some money with all the costs rising and I am so grateful I didn’t, and I won’t. I knew those knobs were easily turned on, we’d done it before, but I’ve been extremely careful that nothing gets left on the stove, due to the possibility of what “could happen”. I’ve had my new Samsung appliances about a year now and this was the 1st time we left an item on the stove. If it wasn’t for my alarm company and the early detection I would’ve lost at the very least half my home and my neighbor’s home, the one that wasn’t home shares the wall with my kitchen. We did lose our kitty. Too much smoke for his little lungs, my heart breaks everytime I think of him. The firefighters suggested the child locks for the dials, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to order them yet and it’s been a month. My son came home from a visit to his dad’s last night, threw his stiff down, and came upstairs to say hello and tell me about his visit. A few minutes later we smelled smoke. I asked him where he threw his stuff down and we sprinted downstairs. A strap from his bookbag had fallen onto the stove which he had accidentally turned on, smoke was filling the downstairs and the alarm went off, again. At least this time we were home and on it, and didn’t lose a family member, even if it was a furry one. Ordering the covers right now, which is how I came across this website. Feel as if everyone should be warned. One little slip up, and I had been so careful!

The product, in the report: 30” Electric Cooktop with Sync Elements in Stainless Steel - glass top with magnetic knob that lifts from surface and can be placed on knob location on cooktop to adjust heat level or your finger can be used to adjust levels and interact with cooktop.
30” Electric Cooktop with Sync Elements in Stainless Steel model # NZ30K7570RS/AA if something is placed on the range, it can trigger an error and the cooktop resets removing the lockout of the dials allowing for the cooktop to then turn on without user intervention. This has happened twice for us personally. The cooktop was off and the lock enabled. There was a metal pan placed on the cooktop from the oven. The magnetic elements of the dials interacted with the metal pan causing the cooktop to display an error. When the error clears, the lock is not active. Leaving the pan on the cooktop, the cooktop turned on and activated a heating element. We notified Samsung, the in turn scheduled repair company to come out, the repair company called and never shown up. This happened two times we called Samsung about the issue. Water and other items which aspects, plastic bags, dish towels we have tested have similar results turning off the safety lock do to an error code on the device.

The product, in the report: Samsung Smart Range wifi ready with convection, air fryer, dehydrator, self cleaning
Purchased a Samsung Smart Range from Home Depot November 2021. September 2022 this smart range started working on it’s own; i.e., MALFUNCTION!!! In the middle of the night with everyone asleep the range caught fire. The fire alarm woke my husband (alarm is near the bedroom) who saved me, our dogs & our house. The house was full of black smoke & apparently it must have affected me as my husband said he had a hard time raising me. My husband got us outside to safety, killed the power to the range, opened all of the doors & windows but it took more than 30mins to clear the smoke enough to enter the home. The door to the oven was sealed closed. (We think that the range started a 5hr self cleaning cycle that was just too hot & started a fire in a pan that was being stored in the oven temporarly.) This self cleaning function is dangerous as there is no stop or kill switch where an extinquisher could be used to put out a fire. A REALLY BAD FEATURE. The fire department was not called & none of us seeked medical attention as we were called out of town...hospice had been called for my husband’s mother. This has been a difficult experience but the worse part is that we cannot get any resolution from Samsung or Home Depot & the range is still under WARRANTY

The large burner (electric glass top) malfunctioned and filled the house with smoke with the obvious fire danger. The high, medium, and low settings stay on high even when turned down to low. This condition presents a fire and safety hazard because with a large skillet my wife could not tell that the burner stayed on high. She turned the burner to low and went into another room for a few minutes. When she returned the kitchen was filled with smoke and a fire was starting. She then discovered the problem that the burner no matter the knob setting was always on high.

The product, in the report: Samsung freestanding kitchen range (Model # NEA6311SS AA, serial #: OJ4A7DCT3OO669J). 6.3 cu. ft, stainless steel.
Regarding a hazardous/dangerous design flaw of Samsung freestanding stove (Model # NEA6311SS AA, serial #: OJ4A7DCT3OO669J). I purchased this range in June 2022; it was delivered in July 2022. When using the oven for baking, the outside front decorative metal panel between the glass stove top and the oven door on my freestanding Samsung range gets hot enough to cause a blister when touched. Ten minutes after the oven was turned off, the aluminum panel still registered 132 degrees … a very dangerous problem, especially for a household with children.
I contacted Samsung and their official Samsung service man/repairman inspected the stove 8/17/2022. He verified the high temperature on the outside of the stove. He then contacted the manufacturer (Samsung) when he couldn’t figure out a way to fix the problem. The panel consistently registered 128-132 degrees no matter how he adjusted the door. The Samsung engineer he spoke with told him that particular range is designed to vent through the front of the stove door (not on top, in back of the burners) and can reach a temperature as high as 160 degrees. Obviously, the manufacturer is aware of the dangerous design. The information on Samsung website infers that their ranges vent over the burners, so customers have no advance warning.

The product, in the report: Samsung household electric range
Our Samsung electrical stove activated and started a fire when my adult son was walking through the kitchen and NOT using the stove. He was not cooking and said that he walked past the stove and did not realize even touching it. We had a leftover pan with a little bit of grease in it from the night before, which ignited. I was in my home office when I heard the smoke alarm go off. I went into the kitchen and saw a large fire on the stove, with nothing cooking, just the empty pan. I was able to put the fire out but inhaled a lot of smoke and almost passed out before I was able to get to my inhaler.
This has happened to us at 7-8 times since we’ve own this stove, not counting all the times we’ve found the stove activated with nothing cooking, after guests have walked through the kitchen. The knobs turn with very little force, which seems incredible dangerous, especially if you have a home with children and pets. Because of this, we are paranoid and afraid to have this stove in the house and now are thinking about options on how to address this. It is an expensive appliance and we’re not sure what to do.

We purchased an electric Range Stove a few months ago, the knobs turn very easily and have been bumped and started several small fires in our home. The worst being this evening 6/27/2022. A cutting board and Knife were sitting on the stove top when one of the knobs must have been bumped and turned on, causing the cutting board and Knife to ignite. Luckily we have been able to put the fires out each time but one day we may not be able to. I am terrified for my family, we have 4 kids, pets and take care of my father. this stove cost us a lot, we can’t afford to buy a new one but we cannot keep dealing with this!! . This has been a scary journey and we just want to make sure others are aware of this issue.

I purchased a new Samsung electric smart range from Lowes in September 2021. All four of the burner knobs split where they go over the shaft and just spin on the shaft now. It’s hard to tell if the burners are in the on or off position. Samsung sent two replacement knobs and are now sending two more but they are the same knobs that will eventually do what the original knobs did. If we can’t tell if the burners are off or on this is a hazard that could cause a burn to humans or fire. we are senior citizens and need to be as cautious as possible. the knobs should be metal that cannot split like these cheap plastic knobs do. for $1500 I expected to purchase a range that we could use trouble free for several years at least. metal replacement knobs are not available according to Samsung CR rep’s I’ve talked to. I appreciate free replacements but fear for the safety of my wife, grandchildren, myself and anybody else that uses the range. There should be a safety recall to replace these with durable metal knobs.

The product, in the report: Samsung Model 01 number NE589500SS. This is a regular very common electric range bought at BestBuy, they still sell similar models.
I bought an electric range for my house and it has a very unsafe and hazardous front cook tops temperature control knobs; if anyone touchs and/ or leans against the range while on the kitchen or by the sink the knob turns on itself, the person then leaves the room but does not realize the range had been turned on. Anything on the cooktop will cook will get hot or catch in fire. If the person leaves the house without double checking on the cook top knobs he/she can put fire on the house inadvertently. This happens every time it anyone leans or touches the stove and it happened since i bought it and since it was brand new. The manufacturer or the seller will not do anything about it. This had happen several times throghout many years. Fortunatelly I had just lost pans or burned kitchen stuff because I always come back to check on the stove if it’s on or off. The Sumsang electric range model in question can put fire in anybody’s house in a matter of minutes.

Our fire department responded to a possible fire behind a stove. Upon arrival, the resident stated she turned her oven on and black smoke began rising from behind the unit. She unplugged it before exiting the residence. Investigation finds a group of blackened components behind the upper panel that attaches to the oven and cook top controls. There are no recalls listed but I [REDACTED] it and found several other people reported similar incidents with the same make and model of stove.

The product, in the report: Samsung Tuscan slide in Range with air fryer. Model NE63T8511ST. Color is Tuscan. Control panel and knobs are front mounted.
I have a Samsung Tuscan Range, model #NE63T8511ST. The design of the control panel and knobs on this range is such that the tiniest bump will turn the knobs on or activate the touch panel and possibly turn on the warming burner on the range top. This morning in the space of perhaps a half hour, one of my dogs was able to turn on the cooktop. At the time, I was upstairs and within a few minutes before I went to return to the first floor of my home, the cooktop had overheated a skillet as well as items near the range and started a fire. Several plastic dishes were burned and the flames reached the bottom of the microwave above the cooktop. A dog should NOT be able to bump the knobs on ANY range and turn it on. Had we been sleeping at the time, we could easily have lost our home or been killed. The knobs should be lockable or much harder to turn for safety reasons.

DANGEROUS - fire risk We purchased this stove in January. The burner and oven controls are way too sensitive and they will turn on at the slightest touch or bump with no indication they are on. We have burned hands/fingers numerous times. On January 24th 2022 a knob was accidentally turned on and a small fire started because a bag was knocked onto the stove by a pet. This particular flaw has been reported multiple times with the same outcomes (fire) on other Samsung range models as well. This is a serious and dangerous design flaw that should be rectified immediately, along with a product recall. I’ve reached out to Samsung by phone and text 4 or 5 times since the incident of 1/24/22 and I’m continually being told someone will contact us asap. I have not heard back and it’s been over a week.

The product, in the report: Samsung Electric stove and oven Model NE58K9500SG/AA
Over the Christmas holidays, my family and I discovered a serious fire/health risk involving a Samsung electric stove( model No. NE58K9500SG/AA). Both incidents, within days of December 25, 2021, involved contact with the front burner knobs with the waist area of the user( first my granddaughter, next my wife) which caused the stovetop burner elements to go into full “on” by accidental contact. Ironically and , almost, unbelievably, the very first power level “both on some of the burner elements is “HIGH”)(HI), as opposed to “LOW”. The first warning each user had that the burners had been turned on was the smell and heat emanating from the burner elements. No one was injured, but they could easily have been burned(severely). It takes a simple demonstration to prove that these knobs are far too sensitive to the slightest pressure9 usually by a person’s waist as they lean over the stove (perhaps to open a cupboard above the stove. I quick Internet [REDACTED] search revealed at least one other description of this product hazard( almost exactly like our experience). please

Samsung Electric cooktop NE58F9500SS/AA Too many times since we have owned this unit, the knobs have been inadvertently activated by bumping/brushing against. We have had so many close calls with items being burned/melted its only a matter of time before we do not catch and the house burns down. We even had an appliance repair person working on the microwave installed above melt and burn something during his repair. My guess is this has happened 15-20 times in 5 years. So far nothing as resolution from Samsung.

My electric Samsung stove caught on fire. I placed a hot cookie sheet on the stove top and walked away. When I came back into the kitchen the knob must have been bumped. My daughter , 34 years old , was helping me and it burned her arm. Very mild but could have been bad!

Small fire caused in part by poor design of Samsung NE58F9500SS electric range. Cardboard box had been placed on the stovetop temporarily. The product, in the report: Samsung slide in electric range, model NE58F9500SS - it is stainless steel, smooth top and approximate dimensions 30w x 36h x 26d inches.
The issue involves an oven overheating well beyond the set temperature to extreme levels. The product is a Samsung model NE58F9500SS electric stove, purchased around 2015 and in use since. Recently, I was baking food and started to smell it burning in about a quarter of the normal cooking time. Opening the stove I could see the food was charred black and smoking - the internal temperature of the oven was very hot and observed the upper element was on. Thinking I had mistakenly selected the wrong oven mode, we used the oven again only to experience the same issue. Testing without food, we’ve tried different cooking modes (bake, convection bake) and the result is the same; the oven will come to temperature and signal that pre-heating is complete and show the set temperature on the indicator panel. However, it will continue heating inside the oven with the top element on high - I measured the oven temperature with a remote thermometer to exceed 600 degrees.
No injuries to report, though some damage to the finish and contents of the cabinets adjacent to the oven.

9/15/2021: The consumers left their home for 9 hours and when they returned, the front left burner was on the high setting and bright red. The consumer turned the (rotating) control knob to the “off position”. It is unknow how it got turned on.
They have experienced the same problem approximately 3 times in the past. One time, the consumer used the oven, but not the range burner. She placed the dish from the oven on the range top and within a few minutes, she heard a crackling sound. The dish from the oven was breaking, and it was the result of the range burner being on the “high” setting. The consumer said she did not use that burner that day.
9/2021: The consumer called the manufacturer and reported this matter to their rep. (name unknown). The firm called the consumer back, but she was unable to take the call. She followed up with them and found that they had referred her to the Internet for replacement knobs. When the consumer viewed those knobs on the Internet, they were “baby knobs” and she does not want them.
The consumer said she cannot keep this range/oven in light of the safety issue.
The consumer said that in one of the past instances, someone walked past the knobs, but she is unsure if they may have brushed against the knob or not. Overall, there have been 4 occurrences of this issue.

These issues are not even taking into consideration pets and children since all of the accidental burner incidents I had were done by adults.

The product, in the report: stove top replacement
The consumer has a safety concern in reference to the Samsung stove tops. The original stove top on her unit has been replaced three times.
The original stove was purchased in 2017. The first time that the consumer use it, the top cracked under the surface. Also, there were marks on the black coating. The top was replaced in September, 2020. In December, 2020, the replacement had to be replaced because the another burner cracked under the surface.
The stove top was replaced again in February, 2021 because another burner cracked under the surface and the black coating was coming off. Now the stove top surface bubbles if something is spilled on it. Also, the heat on left back burner and the front right burner cannot be regulated. The burners get too hot.
The consumer contacted the firm and was advised the bubbling issue is cosmetic. She was also advised that nothing can be done about the burners getting too hot.
The stovetop was still under warranty through Samsung when I called them about the bubbles and burner getting too hot. When I talk about the problem it was still under warranty. When I try and clean the burners if the cleaner does not take it off they told me to use a razor blade yes I have cut my finger a couple of times but the razor blade wasn’t get the stuff off all the way. Why should any stove top have to be cleaned with a razor blade. This is very wrong. If they replaced it before because of the same issues they should have done it again. What if bubbles crack blow up I think of safety.

My family had a terrifying experience with our Samsung electric oven range (model #: NE59J7650WS).
The family was attempting to enjoy chicken enchiladas that take 1 hour and 20 minutes to bake. We checked on them at the one hour point and everything seemed fine but with seven minutes remaining we became notified by the smoke detector of an immediate issue. My husband spotted the flames rising out of the back of the oven, ran to the appliance and pulled it away from the wall to unplug it. The fire continued to shoot up out of the back, topside of the stove/oven. Thankfully, by the time I returned from rushing to grab my daughter from her bedroom, he was in the process of dragging the oven out of the kitchen and into the connecting garage to spray it with the water hose to put the fire out.

The product, in the report: The product was a Samsung Household Electric Range manufactured in October 2015 in Thailand. It was the stainless steel model. Model number and serial number are listed below. Model NE59J7630SS/AA
I am a fire marshal in Connecticut and investigated a stove fire yesterday. The homeowner had made hamburgers in the oven, shut the oven off, and went into a different room. He heard a noise in the kitchen and found fire coming from behind the stove. He used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire. During the investigation, it was determined that the touch screen had been damaged by heat/fire, the top of the stove above the panel was damaged, and there were signs of fire on the back behind the touch screen—no signs of fire coming from the oven itself. I removed the back panel and found the back of the touch screen extensively damaged by fire.

The product, in the report: Samsung Duo Flex electric range
My Samsung Duo Flex Stove overheated suddenly and unexpectedly, causing thermal burns to my home and a minor burn to my hand
The nature of the issues we had with the Samsung electric range have me very concerned for the safety of other consumers as I firmly believe we may have suffered a house fire if we hadn’t been standing at the stove when the malfunction occurred. At the time of the malfunction, I was standing at the stove. The stove top was off but the lower oven had been baking at 425 for approximately 40 min. I removed the baking dish and placed it on the top of the stove. The dish immediately shattered and my hand received a minor burn when it grazed the stove top. The stove top was scalding to touch even though it had been off. I turned off the oven and then turned power off to the appliance at the power box. I had read just the week prior that these stoves were prone to temperature issues so I immediately reached out to Costco and Samsung. After approximately an hour, the stove had cooled enough to be moved and we found a thermal burn to the wall. Samsung sent out a tech as the appliance is still under warranty, but he was unable to diagnose an issue during his visit. It should be noted that we would not allow him to plug the range in on advice from the fire department.

FIRE HAZARD!!! SAMSUNG 30-in Smooth Surface 5 Elements 6.3-cu ft Self-Cleaning Air Fry Convection Oven Slide-In Electric Range from Lowes - I am super concerned about the safety of this electric range. Two different times, with two different adults, inadvertently the stove knob was turned on by accident when the adults brushed up against the stove when reaching for the microwave. Unbeknownst to them, the stove burner turned on and BOTH times caught fabric towels on FIRE with FLAMES!!! Had these individuals not been alert or in the other room, our house would have caught fire!!! DANGEROUS!!!

The product, in the report: standard free-standing electric kitchen range/oven
I recently had a new electric range delivered and put into service at my residence.
The nearly invisible markings surrounding the burner control knobs have already caused me to turn on the wrong burner. Similarly, the red warning lights are not intuitively designed or legibly marked, causing confusion about what is hot and what is not. Risk of burns and fire are inherent to this design (assuming this isn’t a manufacturing defect).

2 yr old Samsung convection oven range (was installed in the home we moved into in November 2018), used self clean option on range for the first time, fumes so bad we opened windows and turned on ceiling fans. Thought it was normal since cleaning for the first time. After oven cooled went to wipe down residue and noticed tons of tiny scratches with fine metal shavings on the oven floor. Then saw gasket/seal around oven melted in 2 places. Called home warranty and they sent repairman 2 days later. Repair tech stated “Good thing you were home” because oven overheated and caused oven to be damaged beyond repair. He deemed it a loss and said not to use in case the metal shavings became airborne from fan in the oven. He notified home warranty and they denied claim because tech deemed it a fault in manufacturing. Not “normal wear and tear”. When I use an option that manufacturer has on the range I feel that IS normal wear and tear. I am 70 years old, disabled veteran, with no oven to use and unable to afford a new one. Samsung should be held accountable.

Sometimes I have to drain the oil and scrub the pan before I finish cooking so my finished dish doesn’t taste burned. I cannot control the temperature.

Samsung Electric Range NE58F9500SS. I purchased this oven 4.5 years ago. Over the past few months, the broiler element has activated and stayed on while baking. This happens in standard baking, convection baking, and convection roasting options. The failure is becoming more frequent. A week ago I was roasting some chicken at 350°. After about 15 minutes I received an alert from my meat thermometer that the temperature was over 550°. I opened the oven to remove my food and noticed the broiler was on. Yesterday I was preheating the oven to 400° and the oven shut itself down due to an E-24 overtemperature error. I noticed a burning smell. Today I was baking squash in the oven and smelled it burning again. I opened the oven and saw the broiler on again and my squash was burned. Using a hot pad, I removed the pan from the oven and burned my hand through the hot pad because the temperature was so high. This is an unsafe product.
