The product, in the report: LSSE3030BD Electric, Smooth Top Convection Oven
I’ve experienced the extendable rack falling on one side when it is extended - on two of the three models. I had one delivered in March 2019 and another in, I believe, July of 2019) and again in September 2019. I spoke with LG after the first incident and they made a report and told me they’ve been having problems with the rack, but it has been fixed. The first time a turkey breast slid off the rack and I caught it with a potholder. The second range was delivered and rejected it before it came off the truck. I could tell the rack was was sloppy from side to side just like the original one. Since model year supposedly changed (it was a LSSE2930BD), Best Buy wasn’t able to get it, so I ordered a new oven from Lowe’s.
I roasted a 13 pound turkey two days ago. When I extended the rack, the rack fell on one side. I had potholders to catch it, so I wasn’t burned. There have been other times with this rack (previous oven) that I caught the food before the rack collapsed. It does not collapse when the oven is not hot.
I believe the sides of the oven bow outward making the rack to narrow. I have contacted LG and their Safety Department was supposed to call yesterday. I have not heard from them. Someone is going to get seriously burned, if they haven’t already. EDIT: While looking for the Serial Number and Date of Manufacture, I realized this oven was made during the time when LG told me they have reported problems from consumers. So, they’re still shipping the poorly engineered product to consumers!

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range Model LSE3092ST Stainless Steel
An electrical shortage occurred with sparks and all on the wiring behind the stove while baking burger patties using the convection oven on the LG electric range Model LSE3092ST manufactured in April 2012. Plumes of black smoke came out from behind the model and left a charred mess rendering the unit unusable any longer. Thankfully no fire occurred with the incident. Still I quickly pulled out our fire extinguisher when I saw black smoke pouring out from behind the range. It was very alarming as I was home with our two young children ages ten and seven while preparing dinner. A repairman diagnosed the model and confirmed that the unit was not worth repairing any longer and said we need a new one altogether. $1800.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Double Oven Range, stainless steel, glass top, digital controls.
While cooking a sauce I turned the burner down to its lowest setting. A few minutes later I noticed it was bubbling. I attempted to turn the burner off. It stayed on and increased to maximum heat of its own volition. Trying unplugging the unit and replugging did not correct the problem. The oven range remains unplugged as risk of property and personal injury is too great. While LG has recalled other models for the same problem, they refuse to correct my unit. They instead state I should pay a LG technician to identify the problem.

The product, in the report: STAINLESS STEEL LG RANGE
We own an electric LG stove and while using the cook top, one of the burners would not turn off after repeated attempts it would just turn itself back on when pressing the off button. It also appeared as though the surface was getting hot to an unsafe and dangerous point. At that time we disconnected the power supply. Thinking this was odd I checked into any recalls for this product and found that similar ranges in the same manufacturing time period were effected with a defect and are on recall. I called LG and they were unwilling to assist us in this because the serial number was not within the recalled range. I feel that this recall needs to be extended and that LG should be responsible for repairing this dangerous hazard Model: LRE30757ST SERIAL #: 907MMSG00462 MANUFACTURED: JULY 2009

The product, in the report: I have an LG electric stove. Model Number: LRE30453ST/01; Serial Number: 009MMLA01992; Manufactured Date: September 2010
I have an LG electric stove. Model Number: LRE30453ST/01; Serial Number: 009MMLA01992; Manufactured Date: September 2010. The large right front burner keeps staying on high and will not respond to any control of push button On/Off except unplugging the power cord. I contacted LG and this stove model/serial number is not on their recall list. LG has other similar model with the same issue are on the call list but not this particular model.
This is very dangerous and a safety hazard and this stove needs to be recalled.
Thank you!

The product, in the report: LG electric range LRE3083ST manufactured October 2014 serial # 410KMVP0F423 Electric range with smooth glass top, 5 burners, digital display, single oven with convection or normal bake settings
My LG electric range LRE3083ST has a malfunctioning burner: when the back left burner or the middle back warming burner is turned on, the front left burner also turns red, heats to high, and the HS (hot surface) indicator light turns on. If the back burners are on low, the front burner turns to low as well. It cannot be turned off unless the back burner is turned off. This began as an intermittent problem a few months ago, and now it happens every time we use the back burners. This is a safety issue. I have not burned myself, but there is risk of fire or burns from this malfunction.
A second problem is that the oven fails to heat correctly, whether on “bake” or “convection bake.” It heats consistently lowly when set at 350, measuring only 200-300 on my analog oven thermometer, even after an hour “at temperature.” (I am reading the temperature through the oven door, so it’s not due to heat loss with an open oven door.) When I increase the heat to 400 or 425, sometimes it climbs to 275, but at other times it has overshot to 500.
I contacted LG and, with some tenacity, got a response from the LG Executive Services Team that I could repair it at my own cost or receive a 15% rebate off the purchase of a new unit. I am not happy with that response because this is clearly a safety problem, not wear/tear. As a homeowner, I have purchased plenty of replacement appliances when the older one fails. This is different.
The unit was manufactured October 2014 serial # 410KMVP0F423. I do not have proof of purchase because the unit was in the house we bought 18 months ago.

I purchased an LG glass cooktop stove in Aug. 2017. Model: LRE3193ST Serial Number: 707MMTJ04817
The front left burner has been coming on by itself and caused a fire this past Sat. 4/6/19 at 1:30 a.m.
Today when I returned home from work, the same burner was on High, again. My house could have burned down or worse.
This is a serious safety issue and I have found on line where these stoves were recalled in 2012 for same issue.

Was using the self clean feature on my LG range, LRE3083ST, I have used this several times in the past with no issues. During this cleaning noticed a strange smell and upon investigating after the cycle was over and oven cooled i saw where it had burned away part of the sealing on my cabinet and discolored my granite counter. This only happened on one side. I contacted the company and have sent documentation to them about this hazard and I am currently awaiting to hear back from them.

Last year I found my LG range didn’t stop heating after reaching the set temperature. I found out it was part of a recall. I called LG and had it repaired. However while cooking for Christmas Eve the oven did it again. This time it set something in the oven on fire. I am on the phone with LG again. They want to send another repair tech. However I am not confident that they can repair the range in a way that it will be safe long term.

The submitter is reporting her range for posing a fire hazard. She is aware her range was included in recall # 13-031 and she had an incident with the unit on July 20, 2018. She then contacted the firm and received the recall repair. However, she believes the unit has not been rectified.
On December 6, she was baking a cake in the oven and had set the oven to 350 degrees. She also had a pot on the front left burner. After approximately 30 minutes of use, her daughter advised her that flames were emitting from the oven. She used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. The unit has been unplugged and has not been used since the incident.
She contacted the firm and reported the incident. She was told that a technician would go out and inspect the unit. They also informed her that the unit did not need to be plugged in during examination. However, when the technician arrived he told her the unit had to be plugged in. She refuses to plug in the unit because she is worried an incident will occur. She told the firm she would plug in the unit if they provided a letter taking responsibility of any future incident that occurred but the firm refused.

This is regarding an Electric range with an electric cooktop. There were no injuries. We purchased this Range March 1, 2018. All was well with the Range until we noticed pitting on the gasket surrounding the cook top. We put a warranty claim on this issue. Today December 17, 2018 I received a phone call From LG. I was advised by the LG representative that this pitting was probably caused by contact with hot cookware or a scraper. He advised me that the rubber gasket was designed to prevent liquids from getting below the cook top and reaching the heating elements and cause an issue with damage or possible fire. This gasket is 2.5 inches from the heating element. It is a small margin of error to not have hot cookware moved 2.5 inches while cooking. Now we have a pitted gasket that may allow liquids to penetrate down to the heating elements. We don’t feel comfortable or safe with this issue.

6/2017 Caller stated that the electric burner knobs turns on easily by barely brushing against it which turns on the range . She stated that this issue has been ongoing for about a year and a half since purchase. Fortunately, they have been able to notice this and turn off the unit immediately when the incident occurs. Caller is concerned that this unit may start a fire.
(12/2018) The manufacturer was contacted and she was informed that a service technician would be sent out at their expense because the range was no longer under warranty. Caller feels that this range should be recalled because it presents a fire hazard.

Similarly, when the warming burner (center rear) is turned on the front left burner comes on on high and will not turn off. I put water on to boil on left rear burner, and almost burned myself when I came back to lift the pan off, as the front left burner was on high. Luckily, I did not burn myself.
It happened first intermittently, but now is ongoing. I checked the LG website and was surprised to see that this range was not on recall, since it has the same issues that those recalled did.

In the interim, I have noted at least six unintended starts of surface heating elements. I have noted that these starts are the result of hip / body parts applying light inward and rotational pressure to surface element control knobs.
These unintended starts have resulted in a couple of mild hand burns and damage (melting) of personal property.
This issue has been noted by other consumers. Please see: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/lg_range.html

Purchase LG range with control on outside instead of top . Realized right away how easily the controls are turned on as they do not require push-in and turn....just turn. If you brush up against them they turn on. Had a dish towel on edge of stove after wiping off top and must have turned burner on as smelled smoke soon after and discovered the towel on fire. Happened again when i had a casserole holder on top as i was making casserole in oven. The holder for transport is straw. The control again was touched and on causing the holder to start to burn. Luckily, again, i was there to smell the burning. I was told by a supervisor at HOME DEPOT, after complaining to them, that LG said it was a”model design problem” and i should use lock for cleaning so dials will not move. That suggestion is great, I use whenever oven or stove top not in use. However, one must ALWAYS remember to lock after use and LOCK does not help when using one burner and another heats up with SLIGHTEST touch. If you have one pot just sitting on stove, with finished product, and suddenly it starts boiling, when you thought it was OFF. I know have two small grandchildren and worry if someone is cooking, they can easily turn on the control. They need a push in and turn dial for all ..... at least !!!

The submitter is reporting her range for posing a fire hazard. She recently came across recall # 13-031 and noticed her range was having the same issue. She believes her range should be added to the recall.
The submitter said the range changes to different temperatures unexpectedly during use and it fails to shut off. She claims there have been several incidents and she’s had to cut off the circuit breaker to shut off the range.
The submitter contacted the firm and reported the issue. She also requested a repair and for the firm to investigate if her model should be added to the recall. However, the firm refuses and advised her if she wanted the range inspected or repaired it would be at her own cost.

The product, in the report: LG (Brand) electric range. Model LSE4613ST. Free standing, 30” electric range in stainless steel
Purchased a electric range from Best Buy 8/11/17 Model LSE4613ST. When delivered, the delivery man brushed against the knobs and the cook top of the range inadvertently went on burning all the wrapping. The oven was replaced with a new range of same kind. I have owned the range now for 8 mos and have had several episodes of the knobs inadvertently going on just by leaning near the range. On April 18, 2018, the oven was off and not used when a box was placed on the oven. The knobs once again came on by walking by the range while placing the box. No one knew this had occurred and the box went up in flames, melted the microwave, and cabinet doors above. This is a major design flaw and had I not been home to smell the burning fire, my house could have gone completely up in flames. The knobs are not secure and very quickly can turn on by simply brushing next to them. I reported this to LG and to BEST BUY and no one is c concerned even though they know there is a design flaw here.

The submitter said the front left burner has an inner burner which is smaller. The inner front left burner turns on by itself when the rear left burner and the middle rear burner is turned on. The submitter said this started happening last week.
The submitter and her family moved back in the home a few weeks ago and didn’t have any other safety issues before.
The submitter’s husband contacted the firm last week to report the issue and he was told that the unit was out of warranty so the firm would not assist with repairs. He was offered local repair shops. The submitter found recall # 13-031 and noticed the safety hazard was the same issue with her unit. She was upset the firm did not advise her husband of the recall and she believes the firm should include her model in the recall. She spoke with [REDACTED] who said a supervisor would call her back within 48 hours.

The product, in the report: LG electric range LSE3092ST
I bought an LG electric range LSE3092ST from Airport Appliance in 2011. Last week the thermostat on the big burner failed, but this failure is a concern because the thermostat failed short, which is a sever safety issue. Luckily I was home and cooking when this happend and the house did not get burned down. UL requirements is that thermostats are supposed to fail open and not short. LG recalled 160k of ranges in the time frame that I bought my range but they are saying my range was not affected and therefore are not taking responsibility for this.
I do not trust this range anymore, if the other burners fail this way or the oven fail this way, it can burn the house down. Please see if you can help me out on this.

Knobs on this range turn on with the slightest pressure. The knobs are on the front so if you brush them by walking by or reaching over the stove they turn on. More than once I have returned to the stove to find it turned on accidentally. This is a huge fire hazard. We have had this stove for a couple of years. I complained to LG from day one and all they did was sent replacement knobs which did nothing to solve the problem. We have been using the child lock but sometimes we forget. This morning I woke up to feel heat As I entered the kitchen. The main burner was on high. The microwave mounted above the stove was very hot from being exposed to this burner all night. My husband forgot to turn on the child lock after being in the kitchen. I feel it is a matter of time before something goes wrong.

Several times recently, the oven of my LG electric range (model: lre30451sb ) will far exceed the set temperature when baking, unexpectedly rising to over 600 degrees. There is no warning when this is about to happen. Most of the time, the oven works normally. The overheating problem doesn’t seem to be related to the oven mode. The only indication when this problem occurs is a burning odor due to the extreme heat, or when opening the door - the blast of extremely hot air. Our oven thermometer confirms that the overheating temperature exceeds 600 degrees (the max on our thermometer).

Electric range stovetop element will not shut off. I had to unplug it. Same issue as under LG recall 13-031. When I called LG, they said this range was not manufactured in the dates covered by that recall. I will have to stop using the stove until I can find out how to get it fixed or buy a new range. It will burn my house down operating as it is.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range Model # LRE30453ST Serial # 910MMNT00975 Date of Manufacture October 2009
I have an LG Electric Range manufactured in October 2009. Model Number: LRE30453ST Serial Number: 910MMNT00975 The front left dual stove top burner while in use, the temperature became uncontrollable and it was not possible to turn off the burner using the control switch. An online search of recalls directed me to LG website for a recall of this model number LRE30453 for this exact reason. Upon contacting LG and providing the Model and Serial number of this unit, they informed me that although the model number was under recall, the serial number placed its manufacture outside the manufacturing dates for recall even though it was exhibiting the same problem that the recalled serial numbers were having! A huge potential fire hazard!

The product, in the report: Wall-Mount Double Oven
The consumer indicates her wall-mount double oven was delivered 01/2015.
The consumer indicates that she has been having issues with her wall-mount double-oven since November 2016; since then the unit been repaired by both the Manufacturer and Home Smart by Xcel Energy (a third-party firm) various times because the control panel melts. When the unit is on, the consumer will smell plastic burning, and eventually power failure and the burnt-black control panel.
The Manufacturer has replaced the control panel once times, whereas the party firm has replaced it twice, and it now needs a 5th replacement however the third-party firm will no longer do so because they informed the consumer the issue is due to a Manufacturer’s defect. The Manufacturer agreed to replace the oven however because the third-party firm is not an LG-authorized firm, they will no longer do so.
The consumer states that the top oven is used approximately twice a month, whereas the bottom oven is used three to four times monthly. The consumer ceased use of both ovens mid-November 2017.
The consumer plans on keeping her double-oven for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Model#LDE4413ST 73 cu ft Freestanding Electric Double
This LG electric range has controls that, when accidentally bumped, turn on the stove top heating elements. I have noticed on a few occasions the heating element was on after my wife or a guest have brushed up against the knobs and was able to catch it quickly. Recently I was not so lucky, my wife brushed up against one of the knobs prior to taking my dog for a walk and came back to my house filled with smoke. On top of my stove was a bag of cheese that melted and the smoke carried the oils from the cheese to my ceiling that has to be professionally replaced. I highly recommend not buying this stove. I have had other stoves with knobs in front and have never had this issue. The product has a flawed design and needs immediate correction. I can’t imagine having a stove like this with young children in my home. My wife has removed knobs to avoid incidental contact.

Consumer is concerned that this range is a fire hazard and should be recalled.

The product, in the report: LG Stainless Electric Double Oven (stove top/range) LDE3017ST
Was making dinner on the LG stove top and turned the burner down to low and left the room. Smelled something and went back in and the liquid was boiling ( it had not been when I left) Turned the burner off and it would not turn off or turn down it was just getting hotter . The temp control stated that is was off but hot (h5?). Was afraid to go turn off the breaker in case I fell and the house caught on fire, so kept switching full tea kettles until my partner came home. He turned the breaker off and we waited 20 minutes and turned it back on. The burner immediately went on though it stated it was off, was bright red and hotter than I have ever seen any of them. We turned the breaker off. I did some research and found that LG had a recall of over 160,000 ranges for the same problem, however our model number was not included in that recall. Contacted LG and was told as a courtesy they would do a repair and got authorization after supplying a receipt of purchase and serial number, however there service has not happened after numerous call, chats and emails. I truly believe that the heat of this could cause a fire. Stove was purchased at Best Buy Model is LG Electric Double Oven LDE3017ST

One of the burners automatically turned itself on. The range was not being used at the time and no one was in the kitchen. I heard the chime, went into the kitchen and saw one burner had turned on. I turned it off. It has happened twice in the space of several hours. Luckily, I was at home when this happened and I could turn it off. This could be a fire hazard if it happens at night or during the day when no-one is at home.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range
I purchased an electric LG Range (Model LRE30453SB) on 11/5/11. On August 9, 2017, I was putting a bag of brown sugar into my cabinet next to the stove. I bumped the metal side of the stove with the bag. The oven door cracked loudly and then exploded into my kitchen. Glass traveled more than 10 feet in my kitchen. The oven door was never bumped; the oven was not on. The cook top was off but still warm. The glass shattered into tiny shards that cut my fingers. The glass was everywhere and the inside of the door completely exposed. This could have been disastrous had my family been in the kitchen with me.

This LG electric range has controls that, when accidentally bumped, turn on the stove top heating elements. The first incident that I witnessed occurred during the installation process in early June 2017. The installers bumped one of the controls and the element began to heat up. It was quickly noticed and turned off before any damage could occur. The second incident occurred Sept. 8, 2017 when painters accidentally bumped the control. This time the drop cloth over the stove caught on fire and smoke filled the room. It was extinguished and there was no damage to the house, but the glass cook top sustained small pit marks.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range Model # LRE30451ST
I purchased an LG Electric Range model # LRE30451ST on 8/24/07. It is listed as a recall item with the remedy of repair. The problem is that I have had it repaired twice before (11/16/12 and 8/17/16) and it has started doing the same thing. The issue is that the burners unexpectedly turn on high and don’t shut off. This is dangerous and the repairs have not corrected the problem; only delayed them from reoccurring. The company should be required to replace the defective appliance.

The product, in the report: LG Range
LG range, model #LRE30451SB, included in a recall. The first indication of a problem was that some numbers on the touch pad would not work. Then the front right burner would not shut off, the breaker has to be opened to shut off the burner. The burner would come back on, on HIGH, if the breaker was closed. This was ‘repaired’ with the replacement of a board in Feb 2017. Now, August 2017, some numbers on the touch pad are not working and the left front burner cannot be turned down. If it is on, it is on HIGH. LG states that the warranty has been serviced, so any repairs are charged.

Another time she was in the kitchen and there was a pan of hot oil on the back burner. The consumer brushed up against the knob and the back burner came on causing the oil to start burning.
The consumer stated that she also laid a spoon on the burner. When she smelled the burning spoon, she realized that she had turned the knob on accidentally.
(08/29/2017) The consumer had a workman in the kitchen. The workman placed a drop cloth on the stove. He accidently touched the knobs which tuned the burners on. He smelled the cloth burning and realized that the stove was on.
The consumer also stated that the burners are too close together.
The consumer stated that she normally keeps the oven open when broiling meringue. This stove does not allow her to do so.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range LRE3061BD
I have an LG Electric Range LRE3061BD that has a handle on the oven door that gets extremely hot when the oven in on for an extended period of time (approximately 1 hours), worse when baking at higher temperatures. You can not touch the handle without a towel or mitt. There is a vent at the back of the cook top for the oven, but it feels as if the heat is coming out the front of the oven door. The space gets so hot, it will heat up our entire kitchen, dining and LR area. I have seen it cause the temperature to rise on our home thermostat 2 degrees. I have reported this to LG Customer Service, once last year in July 2016 when I bought the stove and again this past week. They state it is okay for the outside of the oven to reach 180 degrees. As a consumer, parent and nurse practitioner in a pediatric practice, I feel this creates a significant burn and injury hazard for children and adults.

Manufacture rep [REDACTED] responded via email and advised consumer at her cost she can purchase a knob cover for each knob from retailer or LG authorized dealer. LG admitted in the email that they knew of this problem and were working on resolving the problem!!
07/12/2017 Consumer stated there are six knobs on the front of her electric range five knobs for range top and one knob for oven, with the slightest touch(rub/bump) of the knobs they can easily be turned on. There have been multiple episodes when the range top has been accidentally turned on.
She stated there was a burning smell coming from her kitchen, she noticed one of her range top knobs was on with a newspaper atop burner. A fire was in progress.
She confirmed her standard poodle dog is able to turn her oven and range top knobs on several times in the pass, but yesterday (07/12/17) there were items inside the oven which a dog had turned on..
She feels this is definitely a fire and safety hazard for her family.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range/Convection Oven
LG Electric Range Model LRE30453ST manufactured October 2011 in Mexico bearing the Serial # 110MMRQ0G542 . The controls for the electric range top burners intermittently fail to turn off or turn on the heating elements on the glass stove range top. Spoke with LG consumer products division - they say that my range is not part of the previous recall for LG Ranges with a similar issues from 2005 and 2006. They do not feel that there is safety issue with my product, but are willing to repair it for $380.

The product, in the report: Slide in electric stove with double oven
I just returned home this evening to the odor of scorching ceramic. While we were out, my dog had jumped up, resting his paws on our new LG electric range, and inadvertently turned on the stove top, which had a ceramic mug sitting on it. The burner was turned to high and the mug was blackened from the heat. This could have burnt my house down; thank goodness we were gone for only an hour. I have owned this range for merely a week and this is the third time a burner was turned on by accident. The other two times, I leaned against the knob and it came on. I caught it, however, because a sound plays when a knob is turned on. That doesn’t help when dogs are left alone. These knobs turn way too easily, especially given their location (instead of being on the back of the appliance, the knobs are on the front side above the oven) and accessibility to dogs that counter surf and to small children. I am only now reading reviews of this appliance and I see others share my complaint.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Double Oven Range Model LDE3037ST
We were pre heating the bottom oven of our LG electric double oven range model LDE3037ST and before it was done pre heating we heard a loud noise, then a crash sound. On opening the lower oven door we found shattered glass all over the inside of the oven. It turns out the inside glass had shattered, most were small pieces, but some small enough to cut a person, in fact did cut as we were cleaning up. We are now not sure that we can clean the oven enough to remove all the glass and make it safe for cooking.

The product, in the report: Electric Ranges The submitter found the product code “FE1224A8SSTLLGA” on the label.
The submitter’s wife turned on the front left dual burner and set it to a 1.6 heat level. The submitter’s wife was cooking rice which usually takes about 15 minutes. Approximately 5 minutes later, the submitter’s wife walked in the kitchen and noticed a burn odor. The submitter states that the front left dual burner was extremely red and the rice was black.
The submitter said there have been incidents of another burner turning on unexpectedly. He recalls one incident when the front left dual burner was turned on and then the rear left burner turned on by itself.
The submitter searched online and came across recall # 13-031. The submitter believes his range has the same defect, “Burners on the electric ranges can fail to turn off after being switched off and the temperature setting can increase unexpectedly during use, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.”
The submitter contacted the firm today and informed them of the incident. He also mentioned the range is having the same issue as the recalled ranges but his model and serial is not included. The submitter was told that his range was not recalled and the repairs would be at his own expense.

Slight bumping of stove knobs turns them on. No less than 6 times this has happened placing groceries on the stove top, or placing fruit in a fruit bowl. The knobs can bump onto high or low. High is noticeable immediately via smoke and fire, low is more tricky. I discovered fresh fruit burning 45 minutes later after it bumped onto low.

The knobs for stovetop are on front of unit. When a person works near stove and bumps a knob, the burner turns on maximum heat with no sound and no warning. Gets red hot, could easily catch clothes on fire or burn anything flammable that was resting on stove top. We have had stove two weeks, and this has happened 6 times already. Feel very threatened by this.
We did call LG and talked to person in Korea who said a service person would be sent to check.

We have LG oven model number LRE304553ST. The oven overheats uncontrollably. When pre-heating the oven the oven does not stop at the desired temperature and continues to heat to extreme levels which are a safety and fire concern.
I have found numerous reports of this same issue from other consumers, yet somehow this has not been deemed a safety recall. Does my house need to burn down for this to be flagged as a safety recall.

No one hurt Made Dec 27, 2016, sent to the company Jan 9, 2017, published by CPSC Jan 25, 2017
The product, in the report: LG Electric Oven with smooth top in white. Household Electric Range. Model number: LRE30453SW00 with serial number: 810KMCP0019 manufactured October of 2008.
Bought LG oven in December 2008. Oven began randomly overheating in 2011. I thought it was just user error or that I had mis-set it. Then, I was cooking at 350º and the smoke alarm went off -- I came in from the other room to find my cookies were on fire in the oven and f9 displayed on the display. In researching what could be wrong, found the product recall that was issued in 2012. No one had ever notified me, despite having bought it at Best Buy and registering the purchase. I notified LG. Tech was sent a MONTH LATER and the product was “repaired.” Cooking meat in the oven less than a week later, it again incinerated the pan and meal. Using oven thermometer -- oven went up over 700º! Called LG again -- waited another 3 weeks. Oven was “repaired” -- did the same thing and another tech was sent. All together I went more than 3 months without an oven. Thought it was finally fixed. This weekend -- ON CHRISTMAS while cooking the ham, the oven went up to 800ºF ruining dinner. It happens out of NO WHERE -- smoke filled the house and the display read F9. Thank god I was home and paying attention. This could kill someone. Called LG --- at first they tried to say I was “out of warranty” and tried to arrange for me to pay. I argued and 58 minutes later, I was given to the recall department and she gave me a case number and informed me that she submitted it for approval and I will receive a call back if it is approved within 48 business hours.

The product, in the report: LG Range Model# LDE4413ST 30-in Smooth Surface 5 Element 3 cu ft/4.3 cu ft Self-Cleaning Double Oven Single Fan Electric Range (Stainless Steel)
The LG Range Model LDE4413ST is a dangerous fire hazard. The overly sensitive knobs at waist height can easily turn on inadvertently when slightly brushing up against them or reaching overhead. And when the double burner knobs are brushed against either way, they are automatically on high heat. Even when these knobs are not pushed in, they will turn on the stovetop.
On August 30, 2016, I left my house and returned 45 minutes later to a smoldering pile of ashes on my stovetop and a smoky house. One of the knobs were unintentionally bumped without anyone noticing. The tea canister that was on the stove burned to ashes, along with destroying the stovetop, burning part of the countertop, and causing smoke to go throughout my house. It’s a good thing I arrived home when I did, because our house might not be standing today. We informed LG that day about what happened, and they sent a third party out a couple days later to assess the damage. We were in contact with [REDACTED], a claims specialist, and he told us “This is not your fault. We will take care of it.” But since that conversation, we have tried to contact LG numerous times, but keep getting the run around. [REDACTED], a Sr. claims manager, finally told us that they won’t take responsibility and that we need to claim it on our home owner’s insurance.
I have read numerous other complaints of LG ranges doing the same thing, electric as well as gas. This dangerously flawed LG range could have burned down our house. It could kill people. Is it going to take somebody dying to get this product recalled? It’s a shame that LG is allowed to sell these ranges that are obviously unsafe.

We have a LG electric double oven, purchased from Nebraska Furniture Mart in 2014, that has an extended warranty. We have had the appliance repairman from the warranty company Assurant Solutions company, come on numerous occasions, at least twice for the same problem, glass in the oven door, exploding and shattering into shards of glass. If this was the appropriate glass for an oven door (tempered), then It would explode Into nuggets. When you contact LG, you are given the runaround, and last statement from LG representative was to “Just be careful” when re-installing for the 3d time, scheduled for Dec. 8, 2016. There is no acknowledgment that LG Is responsible for this problem.

The product, in the report: LR Range: Model # LRE30755ST, Serial# 605KMEM03212
My wife and I purchased a LR Electric Range, Model# LRE30755ST, Serial # 605KMEM03212 on [REDACTED]. On 10/23/2016 we were preheating the oven to bake a pizza. When we opened the door there was a large flash and a lot of smoke - We shut off power to the range and when it cooled we noticed that there was a hole inside at the bottom of the range. I contacted LG on 10/24/16 and informed them of the problem. After several calls they agreed to send out a technician who came out on 10/28/2016 and diagnosed that the unit was not repairable. The technician stated that within a sealed section of the unit, there appeared to have been an electrical arc which welded a hole in the bottom of the range and there was nothing he could do to repair it. I followed up with numerous calls to LG all of which resulted in their telling me the range was out of warranty and that there was nothing they would do either to repair, replace or provide me a credit towards the purchase of another range. I realize the unit is 10-years old, but the fault lies with the unit and this problem could have caused a fire. I think LG needs to recall these units so other consumers are not put at risk. The problem was not caused by operator error or an act of God - It is a faulty piece of equipment that was already placed on a recall list for faulty burner problems

The product, in the report: LG range with stove top. Knobs are on the front area of the stove top.
We recently purchased an LG electric range model# LDE4413ST. We have noticed it is very easy to accidently turn on the burners of the stove top just by leaning against the knobs. This past weekend, we had guests over for supper. My wife took a glass baking dish out of the oven and placed it on the stove top. At some point, someone leaned against the knobs, turning on one of the burners to high. My wife noticed this, turned off the burner and began moving the dish off the burner. When did so, the glass baking dish literally exploded. Glass was in all of our supper including side dishes that were on the counter next to the range. My wife sustained minor glass cuts on her feet and the dinner was ruined. Due to the extreme safety issue with this product, we are now removing the burner knobs unless we are using the stove top.

The product, in the report: 6.7 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Double Oven Range. Stainless Steel.
I purchased an LG Oven Range in June-2012. I’ve used the self-cleaning function once before. On 09/25/2016, I turned on the self-cleaning on our LG LDE3015ST Oven Range. After under an hour (of the four-hour process), we heard a very loud bang from the oven. In hearing this, we pulled the plug and waited for the oven to cool down. Once it cooled down, we realized that inner glass of the oven door had completely shattered. This glass goes between the oven glass and the door (which also has glass). We were home during the process so that we were able to unplug the power before it continued for another 3 hours at extremely high temperatures. Because this was the middle glass, there was no way that the glass experienced damage type of previous damage as a result of direct contact from us. No one was hurt in the incident. I contacted LG through email letting them know what happened with the model/year/serial number and asking for replacement of the faulty glass. I received the following: {In response to your concern, I regret to inform you that we can only provide you the list of our authorized service center in your area so you can have the unit repaired since the unit is no longer under warranty. You may also try to contact our Out of Warranty Repair Service so you can get other service options...}. After doing some research, it appears that there have been other incidences like mine during the self-cleaning process. I would highly recommend NOT using the self-cleaning process or always making sure someone is home to turn off the power if you decide to use it.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range: Model: LRE30453ST /01; SERIAL 104MMAZ0030; unable to load picture or invoice. Tried clicking “Add files” button, but nothing happens, it just brings me back to this page.
On 8/24/16 Front left burner on the electric range failed to turn off after being switched off and the temperature setting increased unexpectedly during use, posing burn and fire hazards to me. I left a pot of cooked beans on the range, and turned it off. About an hour later, I smelled burning beans. I returned to the stove, and the front left burner showed “HS” for hot surface, but it was on. Beans were burnt, and the broth had evaporated. Confused, I tried turning it on, and off again to no avail. It would turn off momentarily, but then would turn right back on. The coils(?) kept getting hotter, and hotter, with a bright orange in color. I panicked, and thought a fire was going to start. I tried moving the range, but it was so hot! I called 2 different repairmen, but they had closed, as it was after 6 PM. I thought about calling the Fire Dept. for assistance, but thought I’d try moving the range again with potholders. This time I was able to pull the range out, and I was able to unplug it from the wall. You should have felt my racing heart! I contacted LG on 8-26. This model: LRE30453ST /01; SERIAL 104MMAZ0030; ordered from Pacific Sales on 08-03-2011, is not under recall, but those from [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] were. I was told by [REDACTED], Ref. #[REDACTED], she would try to get approval to cover parts and labor. It would take 3-5 business days. I called LG today, 9-1-2016 to get an update. Apparently this case was “improperly saved”, and thus, no resolution so far.

The product, in the report: Lg black electric glass stove
Front right burner was turned on to heat of 4 to sauté chicken. After several minutes it seemed to be getting way hotter than normal so I turned it down. It then seemed to get even hotter and burning the food so I pulled off the pan and turned the burner off to cool it down quicker before continuing to cook. I waited around for several more minutes then went to put the pan back on and noticed that although the control panel said “HS” (which is what it says to warn of a hot stove until the glass cools completely) the burner was still bright red and radiating immense heat. So I have it a few more minutes to cool and it never did start cooling, it’s like it had turned itself up to HI and would not turn off. We flipped off the circuit breaker to cut power and turned it back on but the stove came back on after we turned power back on. The only way to turn it off was to keep the power from circuit breaker off.

The product, in the report: glass top, electric range Note: the “date manufactured” (below) would not cooperate. The date it was manufactured was Dec. 2005
I bought an LG electric range in 2006. In 2013 the stove top burners began to have trouble. They would get “stuck on”. LG replaced a circuit board I think and the problem was solved. This was fortunately done for free because of a recalled.
Now I have experienced (twice) the oven getting extremely hot. The first time (May 4, 2016) I preheated it to 350 and put a meatloaf in. It burned the 1.5 lbs. of beef in less than 30 min. So I bought an oven thermometer and set the oven at 350 and the oven thermometer read 500 degree! I have not found a recall for this problem.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range LDE4413ST. It is an double oven electric range with flat cooktop.
Ever since we bought this LG Electric range 6 months ago we have had repeated problems with the cooktop turning on accidentally when we are working in the kitchen. The knobs are large and protrude from the front of the stove at hip height. They are easily bumped and turned on without us realizing it. We have learned to be very careful and not put anything on the stove except what we are cooking. Regardless, we have repeatedly often almost been burned by turning and unexpectedly finding a blazing hot burner with nothing on it.
We have limited counter space. When we are not working in the kitchen, we sometimes place pots and pans on the cooktop to dry. Today there was a pot on it drying on a dishtowel. When my husband returned from the grocery store, there was almost no space on the counters. He put one grocery bag on what little space there was on the counter and the other on the cooktop, being careful not to bump the knobs. He went out to bring the other groceries in from the car and was gone only seconds. He returned to find the groceries and the dish towel engulfed in flames and the smoke alarm screaming. Luckily, he was able to sweep everything into the sink and douse the flames with water. Upon further inspection it appeared what happened is what has frequently happened before. Despite his care not to bump the knobs, the left-most knob got bumped when he turned away from the stove, without him realizing it. Unfortunately, that knob, when it is bumped a little, turns to “Hi.” More unfortunately, that knob turns on the front left burner to “Ultra-Heat” which heats to high in a matter of seconds. We are just fortunate that he returned so promptly, before the wall and ceiling in the kitchen ignited.
This it the last straw for us. This electric range is a fire and burn hazard and needs to be recalled to either be replaced or modified to allow for safe use.

I purchased an LG Electric Range (LRE30453ST), on January 14, 2012. The ranges has required replacement of the circuit boards and heating elements on five occasions since 2012. The most recent incident nearly burned my house down. The range had an “F9” error code, which is an indication that the oven is over heating. The estimated temperature of the over is 700 - 1,000 degrees. The oven would not shut down because the digital control panel melted, and I was unable to touch the unit because of the extreme external surface temperature. I had to turn the unit off as the circuit breaker. The unit needs to be recalled because fire safety concerns.

She stated that she received the recall remedy (Recall#13-031) in October 2015 for the burners but now the oven is displaying similar problems of the cooktop. Caller stated that the problem started 2 days ago.
(12/10)The manufacturer was contacted and she was informed that she should contact the service technician to see if the problem she is currently having is related to the recall. He advised her that the problems with her oven was not associated with the cooktop.
Caller feels that this range/oven is a fire hazard and should be recalled.

(11/2014) The consumer stated that he set the temperature for 350. After about 30 minutes the temperature raised to 525. This happens all of the time.
The consumer stated that he called Home Depot and was advised that the product is out of warranty.
(08/2015) The consumer contacted the firm. He left a message but have not received a response.
The consumer stated that this is a fire hazard.
The consumer added he thinks recall of the device is needed.
The consumer stated he spoke with LG about this issue, but he was treated like he was trying to pull a scam. The consumer also stated they wanted receipts for the oven which he kept trying to tell them he did not have...It was an online order. The consumer indicated he tried to explain that its a fire hazard and LG showed no concern on that issue.
The consumer also added he has included photos of the device (LG Electric Range/Oven) ModelIf LRE35453ST purchased from Home Depot online 1/28/10 and delivered to the address [REDACTED]...He called LG himself and explained the issues with the unit and that the unit had already been serviced for stove top burner problems...When his wife tried to explain to the service tech that she also had issues with the oven she was told that the temperature controls were set at the factory and not even addressed.
The consumer also noted he feels that LG is ducking their responsibility for selling an item that could be a fire hazard as the oven does not regulate and control as it should or not at all! The oven when set to a temperature of 250 degrees F goes to over 600 degrees F and if the oven was set to AUTO COOK and the house was left empty while the user was relying on the unit to perform as it was made to do, their home could burn to the ground and as he stated when he talked with LG they showed no concern of the problem but only wanted him to fax or E-Mail the receipts..Not that they were rude, just didn’t seem to care at all!
Photos are as follows:
1. Picture 1 is the oven the control panel after setting the oven to BAKE and 250 degrees and the oven had reached the set temp. Set temp had just been reached. 2. Picture 2 is the oven temperature as on the consumer’s Taylor analog oven thermometer about 35 minutes after picture 1. It shows the oven at over 600 degrees F. 3. Picture 3 is basically the same as picture 2 only showing that the oven is still on BAKE and set to 250 degrees F but also shows his Taylor thermometer reading 600 degrees+.
The consumer concluded saying, he hopes that this added information will help in the study of this problem with LG and keep other owners of their ovens from losing not only their homes but family members due to the un-caring attitude that LG showed him.

We bought an LG cooking range in 2012 and since December of 2014, its front-right burner has been switching on by itself at full glow. Sometimes it happens when the one behind it switched on but sometimes we don’t know what triggers it. I have reported this to LG as a serious safety issue but they won’t fix it unless I bear the full cost. They don’t have any record of this model being in the recall list either. The product, in the report: Model no. LRE30755ST Serial no. 606KMQG04004 LG Household Electric Range
I purchased and registered an LG kitchen suite. Range, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. The range started a fire in my kitchen in Sept 07 because the burner remained extremely hot after turning it off. I had a large insurance claim and contacted LG to no avail. Then, in 2011, a fire started INSIDE my refrigerator because of faulty interior lights. LG sent a technician to repair. In April of 2015, I cleaned the oven to prepare my home for renters. It got so hot, it melted the interior edge of the (expensive) cabinet door and drawer! I contacted LG again and received no response. I even sent pictures. This is an extremely faulty line of appliances. The dishwasher does a ridiculously poor job of cleaning dishes, and if there is steam rising from the stove, the panel on the microwave goes on the fritz and won’t work for a few days. The range is the biggest worry as it is a fire hazard. The model isModel no. LRE30755ST Serial no. 606KMQG04004 LG Household Electric Range I can provide photos of the damage.
