The product, in the report: This is a 30 in wide, black ceramic glass cooktop from LG with five heated zones, three regular burners, one burner that can turn on and inner and an outer heating element depending upon the size of the pot, and a warming zone. The product was installed in a solid surface countertop by professionals. It is hardwired into the home’s electric service.
30 inch LG Radiant (non-induction) Cooktop turns burners on when items are placed on the cooktop surface where the SmoothTouch Glass Controls (touch controls that turn on or off burners) are. Because this is a radiant cooktop, the burners then glow red and get very hot, causing a risk of burns or fire. Items that have unexpectedly turned on a burner when placed there: numerous bowls of soup, a dozen gallon milk jugs, groceries being unloaded from the car, etc. There is a touch control lockout function, but frankly, the buttons don’t respond to touch by fingers as well as they do to accidental touches by objects! I’ve seen recalls here of slide-in ranges due to accidental touch problems with the design.

Hurt, no treatment Made Dec 1, 2024, sent to the company Dec 5, 2024, published by CPSC Dec 19, 2024
The product, in the report: Smart Wi-Fi Enabled fan convection electric range oven with airfry and easy clean stainless steel, 30” 6.3 cu. ft
Found a black splatter on the bottom of our oven 16th of November after a self cleaning cycle. Discovered that pieces of porcelain/paint from the inside the oven were coming from the fan, blowing out and melting on the bottom of the oven. Most concerning is that this has been going on for longer since it was not realized at the previous time of cleaning the oven 7-8 months ago. The concern is that the fan has been blowing small particles of porcelain/paint onto our food over the last 7-12 m since there clearly is paint/porcelain that melted on the bottom. I can used my finger nails to scrape up small specks of the blue from the bottom. I believe we have likely been eating porcelain/paint dust in our food over the last 7 - 12 m. This can not be healthy for our bodies, may lead to more stomach problems which I have had. And my husband had a horrible headache the day after using the self cleaning since porcelain/paint was melting and could be smelled in the air. May even find out that this leads to a cancer in the future.

The product, in the report: LG Range 30 in. 6.3 cu. ft 5 Burner Element Slide-In Electric Range PrintProof Stainless Steel
Our LG range burner is activating with incorrect burner knobs and heating with no indicator light. Upon turning any of the burners on, the front right burner of our LG range will also heat up, despite being set to “OFF.” When this error occurs, the front right burner heats with no indicator light, presenting serious risk of injury or fire. I discovered this issue after nearly burning my arm upon reaching over the front right burner (which I expected to be off) while cooking dinner. We purchased the range less than 6 months ago and LG has already sent a technician out twice (once to confirm this issue and once to repair a similar burner malfunction that occurred prior). We requested that LG replace the range, and Home Depot has also contacted LG twice on our behalf to request replacement of the range. LG has stated that their policy is that three attempts to repair the range (by their technicians) must be made before they will issue a replacement. I expressed to LG that I am uncomfortable with an additional attempt to repair, because the burner that is malfunctioning is doing so without an indicator light. This means that even if a repair temporarily or partially resolved the issue, a future malfunction may go unnoticed - greatly increasing the risk of injury or fire.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range Model LRE3061ST/00
I purchased an LG electric range in 2020. It is experiencing burner issues - when either of the front burners are on any temperature setting and the corresponding rear burner is turned on, the front burner goes to HIGH. It is a Model Number LRE-3061ST/00 and a Serial Number 001MMCB09555. This failure not only has caused burnt food on the front burners but is a huge safety factor nd potential fire hazard.
I called LG’s Customer Service Rep yesterday at 1-800-243-0000 and inquired about which part(s) I need to install to fix this problem. I am a retired Electrical Engineer and am very comfortable replacing the correct parts (circuit boards, etc). Your agent was very blunt and said this is only done by qualified repair personnel.
Thanks in advance for your attention and advice.

No one hurt Made Oct 29, 2024, sent to the company Nov 4, 2024, published by CPSC Nov 19, 2024
The product, in the report: Houshold Electric Range
We recently received our [REDACTED] issue Nov/Dec 2024 and they had a recall notice on some [REDACTED] Electric Ranges Pg 18. When I read the article I thought, that is what happened on our Electric Range. But then I realized that we have an LG Electric Range that has knobs on the front just like the [REDACTED]. Within the last 4 months, we had an instance where we had a Electric Griddle that we placed on top of our LG Electric Range and were cooking bacon. There is a pan to collect the grease, however my wife accidently bumped one of the burner knobs and turned on the burner. It melted the bacon greese trap an then started a fire on our stove top. I was able to carry the Electric Griddle outside while it was burning and then put the flames that were buring on our stove top by covering with a frying pan lid. Within the last 2 weeks, we had the same thing happen where a burner turned on while we had a griddle on the stove surface, but I caught it before it melted anything.
Since the on/off knobs are in the front of the stove it is VERY EASY to brush up against them and accidently turn them on.

The product, in the report: Range 6.3 slide smart WIFI
Purchased a LG countertop oven/range in May 2024. 2 weeks after purchase and installation, all 5 burners (electric) lit up like a Christmas tree without turning knobs on. One knob was on and cooking. Could not shut it off and we thought it may cause a fire so I ran out to service entrance and flipped breaker. After LG missed an appointment to repair we went on summer trip and came back two months later. LG finally sent engineer out to repair. One week after repair I noticed right rear burner was lighting up for a second or two then would go off. Burner knob for that was not on, but adjacent burner was on. This happened twice, but has not repeated to date. Discussed with engineer and was told this model is having a lot of problems and the only way to repair was to “shotgun” all the parts involved. LG is not cooperating and was supposed to get call from LG Presidents representative within 3 days. Never received call or text.

In June 2024 I purchased an LG Range Model LSEL6337D. After 2 months the left burner went on high any time another burner is turned on. This is a safety and fire hazard. LG refuses to take care of me in a timely manner even though this is under warranty.

No one hurt Made Aug 27, 2024, sent to the company Aug 29, 2024, published by CPSC Sep 13, 2024
The product, in the report: Household electric range about 47 inches tall to the top of the backguard, 29 inches wide and 28 inches deep. Stainless steel and with a smooth black ceramic glass top cooking surface.
Today (8/27/2024) my LG electric stove top (Model: LRE30755ST, SN: 602KMDS00066) was being used on a low setting with a large pot of stock on it to simmer for a few hours, lid closed. Next thing I know the stock is boiling over so I remove the pot from the burner. The setting of my burner was set to 1.4 (very low on these units) but the burner was continuously on and not cycling on/off as it normally does, very hot. I attempted to turn the burner off from the control panel but that did not work so I went to my circuit breaker to trip the breaker open while I dealt with the mess. After some time, I tested to see if this was still an issue by closing the breaker again but the burner immediately turned back on without me pushing the on button on the control panel.
This is the second time I’ve experienced this. The first time, back in 2017, was a very similar situation described above. During that time I came across a recall that LG had for this issue (see: https://www.lg.com/us/public-notices/general/lg-electric-range-recall-for-repair). They scheduled the stove to be repaired free of cost and the technician replaced a circuit board on the back panel of the stove. I was told this would fix the issue but it seems that it only actually delays this from happening again for some time. I’ve now experienced this twice and am thankful I have not had a house fire or something severe happen. Please note that no injuries occurred during either time but easily could have considering it wouldn’t take much if someone were to panic trying to clear the stove while it is still on.
The reason I’m making this report is because there doesn’t seem to be any attempt from LG to actually fix the issue but rather just swapping out a part until it happens again. The recall information in the link above instructs consumers to stop using it until the free in-home repair can be done but I’ve had the repair done and the issue still occurred again. My understanding is that this repair was a replace in kind and that no design changes or other fixes were made to the board. I can’t believe a company would simply replace the hardware without correcting the issue knowing full well that this is a huge safety risk for it’s consumers.

The product, in the report: LG Electric silde in range Model #LSEL6337
I was mopping my kitchen floor and accidently bumped the knobs on the front control panel of my LG LSEL6337 slide in electric range and while doing so turned the knob on unbeknownst to me. I had an item on stove that started to burn do to the knob being turned on. Thankfully, I was home at the time and was able to turn off the stove eye and get burning item put out. House was filled with smoke. Had this of happened with no one home, the whole house could have went up in flames. Yes, no item should be placed and left on stove eye but dog or person should not be able to push or lean against knob and it turn the eye on so easily.

The product, in the report: It is LG model LSE4613BD/ 00 Product code FS1775LS.A8DLLGA Serial Number 104KMDS0T530 Manufactured April 2021. It is an electric slide in smooth top range, 30” width and standard countertop height.
My husband and I have an LG LSE46113BD electric slide in range. It has knobs on the front of the range to turn on the surface elements under the glass smooth top. Both my husband and I have accidentally turned on a surface element when we brushed up against the knobs..to reach the microwave above, or a nearby cabinet. In two instances something caught fire. In the first instance, we were still unpacking the range and had placed the cardboard and use & care manual on the smooth top. The paper caught fire. In the second instance, our granddaughter had placed a dish towel on the range surface, and it caught fire. Luckily, thanks to having a fire extinguisher nearby, nobody was injured. It just took a lot of “elbow grease” to get the burned materials off od the smooth top.

My cat activated my LG stovetop by nudging a front-mounted knob. Thankfully I was home when this happened. As I had placed a hat and gloves on the stovetop, a fire was started, which I was able to extinguish. Minor smoke inhalation occured to both me and my brother. Unfortunately I now have a clump of melted polyester adhered to the top of the flat glass surface, and cannot use said electric burner.

The product, in the report: LG 7.3 cu.ft. Smart Double Oven Slide in Electric Range with ProBake and InstaView in PrintProof Stainless Model LTEL7337F
Purchased a LG range in 2/2024. Since its installation the range burners have come on several times with accidental light bumping of the knobs that are located in the front of the range. Last week I had a silicone mat laying on the glass range top and was out of the room when I began to smell burning rubber and noticed black smoke rolling from the kitchen. I discovered a burner on high and a pool of melted silicone burning on top the stove and smoke detectors beginning to go off. Now I have to take off the knobs in order to feel safe from the stove front being bumped.

The burner fails to turn off after being switched off and the temperature setting increases unexpectedly during use. LG was aware of this problem and only issued a recall for select models between 2006 and 2010. My model is from 2017/2018 so obviously they haven’t fixed the original issue and are putting consumers lives at risk.

I purchased a LG electric stove in OCTOBER2022. The knobs are on the front of the stove and they move and the burners come on with touching them. I reported this back in the summer last year and they called me back but nothing ever happened. Several times I have almost set my clothing on fire just by reaching for something or just by walking by. I went on the internet and saw they being having this problem since 2010. I dont see how this problem could continue this long. I looked at new stoves over the weekend and the new lg’s have knobs that you have to push in and then turn, a safety feature. I am afraid my grandchildren will be harmed so I am going to unplug it and plug it back in when I cook.

The product, in the report: LG branded household electric range. Front panel control. Blue interior. Brushed stainless exterior. Dual oven.
LG range child lock reset to unlocked state during brief power outage, causing a fire. The child lock had been set to prevent the burners from being turned on by the dog or othur kitchen activity. The front mounted knobs are incredibly sensitive and a light push will allow them to turn. Power went out briefly causing the child lock to switch off. Dog bumped into the knob shortly after the power outage while no one else was downstairs which turned a burner on. A plastic container of sugar near the burner melted onto the burner and caught fire, causing nearby items to also flame up. Fire was put out before it spread further into the kitchen. Since then the power outage reset issue has been replicated multiple times. If the child lock is set and the power goes out for even a second, the child lock turns off. If a burner knob is turned into an on position while the power outage resets the child lock, the burner will automatically come on when the child lock resets after the outage. The knobs are so sensitive that lightly leaning over the stove or bumping them with a cabinet door will push them in and turn them. The push to turn function offers very minimal resistance making it easy for them to be turned by accident. Both of these issues cause a fire risk and a safety hazard.

The product, in the report: Slide in LG glass top range Model #LSE4611ST. Black glass top with Stainless steel trim.
while using the LG LSE4611ST slide in range I noticed that the knobs on the front were very easy to turn on. When reaching over the stove to get in microwave my stomach would push against the knob and the burner would come on. It took very little pressure to push and turn knobs. One time I set some groceries that were in a soft sided cooler next to the stove. I must have brushed against the knob because when I turned around the burner was turned on and the cooler was on fire. I reported this to LG and they sent a repair man out to replace the knobs. The knobs were the same as the replaced on and continued to do the same thing. Several times the same thing had happened however, there was nothing on the stove, so I just turned it off. The last time it happened I had placed a plastic egg carton on the stove while making breakfast on an electric griddle. I took plates to the table and returned to kitchen and the plastic was all melted om the burner. I turned the burner off and removed the carton . I let the burner cool then tried to scrape the plastic off with a razor blade, but shards of glass were coming off with the plastic. I was afraid to use the stove after that. I reported this to LG but they said it was out of warranty and refused to do anything. I had the call escalated to manager who did nothing. I asked to have the call escalated to a corporate manager. She called me and advise me they could not replace glass top but she would text me a 15% coupon to use on the LG website toward a new range. Needless to say, I never received the text or coupon.

The product, in the report: Range burner
Caller stated that the range right rear burner spontaneously came on by itself and would not turn off and the left front burner turns it on and off. However, she eventually turned it off. The manufacturer was contacted, and a service technician was sent out. Caller stated that the technician had to order the part and then he came back at a later time to replace the part in the unit which he advised that the part may fix the problem. Caller stated that manufacturer was contacted again about the problem, however, they advised if the problem re-occur, she should contact them again. They informed her that they would not replace the range if it did not fail within 90 days. Caller believes that this range poses a fire hazard and should be recalled.
ORIGINAL COMPLAINT: NEW LG STOVE, MODEL LSEL6335, PURCHASED 11/28/23, FROM ROSNERS’S IN WEST PALM BEACH, FL. INSTALLED 12/9/23 RIGHT REAR BURNER TURNED ON SPONTANEOUSLY WHEN LEFT FRONT BURNER TURNED ON, AND WOULD NOT SHUT OFF WHEN KNOB TURNED TO OFF. AMENDED CONSUMER COMPLAINT CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION RECALLED OVER 200,000 [REDACTED] FOR EXACTLY THIS SAME PROBLEM! AT FIRST VISIT, LG TECH IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED PROBLEM AND KNEW WHAT PART TO ORDER, IMPLYING THAT TECHS HAD PREVIOUSLY SEEN PROBLEM. SINCE REPLACEMENT PART WAS IDENTICAL TO DEFECTIVE PART, I ASKED TECH IF REPLACEMENT PART COULD FAIL AS WELL. TECH RESPONDED THAT IT COULD. TECH STATED THAT AFTER LAST VISIT, HE GOT BULLETIN FROM LG CORPORATE THAT ALL SIMILAR STOVES HAD SAME PROBLEM. I ASKED IF LG WAS RECALLING STOVES AS FIRE HAZARD. TECH RESPONDED THAT, NO, LG WAS NOT RECALLING STOVES BUT WAITING FOR CONSUMERS TO REPORT PROBLEM. SUBSEQUENT CONVERSATION WITH LG PRESIDENT’S OFFICE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR [REDACTED] IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA, SHE CLAIMED THERE WAS NO RECORD OF ANY LG OFFICIAL BULLETIN REGARDING BURNERS NOT TURNING OFF IN ALL SIMILAR STOVES. WHO WAS LYING, CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR OR REPAIR TECH? CUSTOMER SERVICE REP DENIED THERE WAS ANY DANGER FROM THESE STOVES, AND THAT SHE HAD FREON IN HER REFRIGERATOR, WHICH WAS JUST AS DANGEROUS. WHEN I PROTESTED THAT I WAS TERRIFIED THAT I WOULD ASSUME STOVE WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN WENT OUT OR WENT TO BED, AND WOULD BE FIRE VICTIM, AND THAT I WANTED ANOTHER KIND OF STOVE WHICH COULD NOT KILL ME IN MY BED. SERVICE REP’S ANSWER WAS THAT IF I WAS WORRIED, I COULD PULL STOVE OUT FROM WALL AND UNPLUG IT. I PROTESTED THAT I AM IN MY LATE SEVENTIES AND COULD NOT DO SO. REP ASKED IF THERE WAS A GRANDSON OR NEIGHBOR WHO COULD DO IT. WHEN I RESPONDED, NO, I’D HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE TO PULL OUT STOVE, REP RESPONDED THAT LG WOULD PAY FOR IT. WAS SHE SUGGESTING THAT I PULL STOVE OUT TO UNPLUG IT EVERY TIME I USED IT? BY THE WAY, LG TECH HAD TROUBLE PULLING, PUSHING, AND LEVELING STOVE. SHE ALSO STATED THAT IF REPAIR DIDN’T FAIL TWICE MORE IN 90 DAYS, IT WOULD BE AS IF STOVE WERE PERFECT AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. IT SEEMS PRETTY CLEAR THAT LG IS AWARE OF THE DANGER THESE STOVES PRESENT BUT ARE COVERING IT UP AND WAITING UNTIL THERE ARE RECALLS, LAWSUITS FOR HOUSEFIRES OR, WORSE, DEATHS. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR HAD [REDACTED] ANSWERS TO REFUTE ANY CONSUMER ARGUMENT ABOUT THE HAZARD. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAVING THIS STOVE IN MY HOME. I WOULD LIKE A FULL REFUND, SINCE IT IS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD, SO THAT I CAN BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND.

The product, in the report: LG slide-in electric range, model #LSEL6335F. Stainless steel color, 30-inch width (standard size)
Was baking some potatoes in the oven and took them out, and when transferring them to a container I brushed against the front controls on the stove and somehow was able to push the knob in enough that it could be turned. We didn’t notice this and the burner was on and burned through our silicone mat that we had on top of the glass top, and onto a wicker trivet we had between the aluminum cooking pan and the silicone mat. We were taking the potatoes to a family lunch and were about to leave. It could have been disastrous. It should not be that easy to push in and turn on a control knob. I had to have just barely brushed it or I would have realized it. We definitely feel this is a safety issue with this stove. It is an LG brand, model LSEL6335F.

changed the same piece. I continue to have the same issue and started to use the other burner which also started doing the same thing as the other burner. I called LG but they said that my warranty expired and I will have to pay to get it fix. I think that is unfair after a I spend $899 dollars on the range and after searching online they had the same problem with other models and yes they keep selling these ranges with all these issues. The product, in the report: Electric, smooth-top 5-burner range, with oven
The consumer used the left rear burner (if facing the stove) for approximately 15 minutes. He turned the burner off and the control screen normally flashes to indicate that the surface was still hot.
A few minutes later, he returned and the soup was still cooking the burner continued to get hotter with time. He tried to turn it off, but it would not turn off. He tripped the breaker to stop the range from heating.
A few hours later, he tried the range again. However, as soon as he turned the breaker back on, that same rear, left burner began to heat up and he had to trip the breaker to turn it off. He turned on 2 other burner and was able to turn them off.
After searching the Internet for the problem he found a recall notice.
The consumer contacted the manufacturer about this matter and was told that his model is not included in a recall.
The problem is similar to what is identified in CPSC Recall# 13-031, but his model number is not included.

UPDATED ON 5/13/2024: [The manufacturer sent a repair man who worked on my stove and the issue started again the first time I used the stove. Newly purchased LG range model # LRE 6323 September 2023. Whenever the oven is in use the top of the stove around the front edge and along the back edge get very hot and could cause burns to unsuspecting users. LG states this is normal due to the oven vents. An independent service technician measured the surface temperature in these areas at over 200 degrees F with the oven set at at 420’. LG refuses to acknowledge this is a safety issue.

The product, in the report: LG 30-in Glass Top 5 Elements 6.3-cu ft Freestanding Smart Electric Range (Stainless Steel)
I purchased a brand new LG glass top range in October of 2021 from Lowe’s. On 12/11/23 I noticed the smell of burnt plastic. I immediately got up to investigate the smell where it lead me to my kitchen. After standing there for a few seconds I noticed light smoke ventilating through the top side of the range where the knobs, display screen are located. I immediately pulled out the range from the wall and unplugged the range from the outlet. I started removing all screws from the back panel. The smoke never stopped, once I got the cover off I noticed the plastic connection in the harness was burning with an actual flame. I made sure the fire was extinguished before leaving the range. Now wires are stripped of the coating exposing copper wires and melted plastic on the connector. The range is still sitting in this condition because of the fear of it burning my house down. And LG is not cooperating or taking the safety of my family into consideration to resolve this matter. They continually tell me another department will be in touch when I attempt to call and follow up on this matter. I have two small children and unable to cook meals for them.

The product, in the report: ProBake Smooth Surface-Element 4.3 cu ft. / 3-cu ft Self-Cleaning Double Oven True Convection Electric Range (Stainless Steel). Model #LDE4413ST Price: $1,199.00 Purchase Date: 09-16-2020
I purchased an LG ProBake Smooth Surface-Element 4.3-cu ft / 3-cu ft Self-Cleaning Double Oven True Convection Electric Range (stainless steel) in Sept. 2020 at Lowes. For the last 2 years, it has had multiple burner problems. The left front burner no longer works at all. But that burner knob must be turned on in order for three of the other burners to work when turned on. Otherwise, those burners won’t work either. Also, the level of heat on the burners that do work increases and decreases on its own, during use. And yesterday, suddenly, the oven/range began to make “ding” sounds -- as if something is ready -- even when it is not in use and has not been used in days. This appliance began malfunctioning after just one year of occasional use but now more electrical issues are surfacing.
I recently spoke to a neighbor with the same LG Range/Double Oven model having the same problems. He was told by an appliance repairman that the appliance needs a whole new electrical panel, and that the electrical issues could cause a fire. The repairman said he is seeing this issue a lot with LG appliances manufactured during the Covid pandemic.

The consumer has contacted the firm many times about the issue with the knobs on the stove. However, the consumer stated that they won’t do anything about the problem.
About two months after the stove was purchased, the consumer noticed that the knobs turned on by themselves. She reported this problem to the firm several times (Nov.2017, June 2018, Jan. and Oct. 2020.) Technicians were sent out to check the stove. The last time she reported the problem, in March 2022, a technician came out, advised the consumer that the issue was with the power and did nothing about it.
Two months later, the stove caught on fire. This was in May 2022. Flames were coming from the top of the stove. The consumer had to call the fire department to come to put the fire out.

The product, in the report: Electric Double Oven Range
09/26/2023 - The consumer indicates that the retailer delivered the electric double oven range however the service technicians did not level it. The consumer and her husband read the instructions manual in order to learn how to do it. Once they leveled one side, the consumer placed her hands behind the unit in order to lift it up and immediately an arc and a fireball flew right at her, burning four of her left-hand fingers.
The consumer contacted the retailer and explained the situation; the representative she spoke to advised her to disconnect the electric double oven range and scheduled for a replacement to be delivered.
The consumer notes there are no warning labels on the unit or the instructions manual informing consumers that the unit cannot be held from the back.

Purchased a new LG double electric oven in Dec 22 from Home Depot, Just after delivery, we noticed the front stainless steel plate where the burner knobs attach was extremely hot when both ovens are on.! I measured the heat with a digital meat thermometer, and it reached 130 degrees F. It was very hot and we were concerned that our grand children may burn themselves. I called LG and spoke with customer services, and they agreed that there may be a safety defect. I called Home Depot and they agreed to return it for another. Unfotunately, the second electric range performed in the same manner. An LG technician came out and confirmed it was hot but still within their safety standards.I researched] the internet and found that “ OSHA and CPSC stipulate limits on safe working/operating temperatures. In fact , at temperatures exceeding 115 degrees F(46 degrees C) OSHA categorizesthe risk level extreemly high.” I would like to file this complaint and hope it can be resolved to my satisfaction. Thank you

The product, in the report: Electric Range
On 2/25/2023 my wife used our new LG electric range, Model LREL6325. When she went to clean the cooktop after the Cooktop Hot Indicator turned off she almost burnt her finger. She placed a temperature probe on the large front burner and found the temperature was 155 degrees Farenheit. She checked the Owner’s Manual and found on page 26 that the cooktop hot indicator remains on until it has cooled to approximately 150 degrees Farenheit. This is way too hot and the indicator light should remain on until the temperature is below 100 degrees.
On 2/26/2023 we checked the unit again with the smaller front burner and found the cooktop hot indicator light went off at 161 degrees Farenheit. This is a severe safety issue and I would like our unit fixed so the hot indicator light does not go off until the temperature is below 100 degrees Farenheit. I spoke to our Best Buy sales person today and he was not aware of this safety issue as his electric range, manufacture unknown, does not turn off at this high temperature nor did my previous [REDACTED] range or my son’s [REDACTED] range.

The product, in the report: The range in question is an LG LSE4613st.bstllga
In 2020, I entered a report on this website regarding a dangerous range: Product: Range/Oven/Electric Cooktop Model: LSE4613ST.BSTLLGA Serial No: 611KMFE05523 On June 10, 2022, the dangerous range lit a fire that smoldered for several hours while I was away. The LG range in question has knobs that can be turned on with a bump, unbeknownst to the consumer. I have at least four other pieces of documentation from other consumers who have experienced the exact same problem. One said, “I was just lucky I was home when it happened.” Unfortunately, I was not at home, and my entire house has required months of smoke damage mitigation.

We purchased an LG Stainless Steel Electric range in July and found that when the oven was on for over 15 minutes, the small band of metal on the front of the range right above the oven door would become hot enough to cause a burn (over 130 degrees F). We exchanged the item for another of the exact same model and it has the exact same issue, so we think it is a flaw in the product and not a problem with a specific oven.

The product, in the report: LG electric range with ceramic cook top. Stainless steel
The stove top burner knobs on our LG range can be easily turned on by inadvertently bumping them when working in front of the stove. This has caused several near-fires (smoldering items on the cook top) Yesterday, a wet cleaning rag was on a burner to try to loosen built up residue on that burner. The next thing I know, my wife is yelling for me as the rag caught fire. She had inadvertently bumped the knob when putting something in the microwave and it ignited. I extinguished the flame and turned off the burner. The knobs are supposed to be pushed in to turn them on but that seems to happen too easily. We had this happen a few times the first year we had the stove but once we became aware of the problem, we tried to be very careful but they turn on much too easily. Yesterday was the first time we actually ended up with open flames. I reported the issue to LG shortly after the stove was delivered but got no help. Today I called and insisted on a report being filed. Their advice is to not use the stove for now. I’m to the point where I want to just get a new stove but I can not in good conscience offer my stove to someone else knowing what I do.

First aid Made Oct 19, 2021, sent to the company Jan 6, 2022, published by CPSC Jan 21, 2022
The product, in the report: Electric Range with oven
(approx. 2013): The oven’s entire outer glass door shattered, while it was in use. Glass flew everywhere in the kitchen, but no one was injured. The oven had been in use for more than an hour at that time. The inner glass remained in tact.
The consumer called the manufacturer and they arranged for a technician to come out and replace the glass. The consumer paid less than $100 for the service.
(approx.. 2019): The large burner would not shut off, after it was in use. The consumer pulled the range from the wall and unplugged it from the outlet. She burned her right hand in the process. She treated her burns at home. The manufacturer was contacted and they sent out a technician, who replaced the motherboard. The manufacturer covered the cost of replacing the motherboard.
(8/2020): If the 2 small burners were turned on, the large front burner would turn on by itself and the temperature would increase. The consumer contacted the manufacturer and a technician was sent out, who repaired it. The manufacturer covered the cost of the repair. This was the exact same problem that was listed in CPSC Recall# 13-031
(9/2020): The consumer noticed a burning odor, but didn’t see any smoke and was not sure where it was coming from. A few days later, she tried to turn the oven on, but it would not work. She saw an error code (F-7), and called the manufacturer and they sent out a technician.
The oven’s heating element was totally melted on one side. The technician replace the oven’s heating element. Another part was ordered (unknown what it was). After the consumer received the part, a second technician came out and replaced it. However, the oven still would not work.
Some type of harness on the back of the range was not working and this contributed to the product inability to work. A 3rd technician came out and looked at the range/oven. The technician checked with the manufacturer, but found that they no longer manufactured that wiring part. Therefore, he wrote that the consumer’s range was “non-repairable”. The tech. removed the electric cord from the back of the range, so it could not be plugged into a wall outlet.
(10/2021) The consumer checked with the manufacturer and was told that her range was “not” part of CPSC Recall# 13-031.
The consumer said that on approximately 10/15/2021, they told her they would give her 20% off of a new range, but she said that based on all of the problems that she has had with this range, they should replace it for her at no cost, especially considering all of the safety issues.
She recently called the manufacturer again and a rep. (name unknown), told her that they would call her back. She’s waiting on that call, to see if they are willing to provide any further assistance.
Report updated 1/27/22: LG did pay for the cost of the range an agreement was made between myself and LG and they did settle the range issue.Everything I stated about the range was correct I submitted pictures and A&E had receipts but I have no further issue with LG

The product, in the report: LG 30” slide-in electric range with five elements, smooth top, 6.3 cu. ft. blue interior
My husband and I purchased a home in October of 2020. To prepare the home for sale, prop owners did significant renovations, including purchasing all new LG kitchen appliances. This item is present in both photos of the home listing and in our documentation from the purchase of the home, as these appliances conveyed with the home. While cooking a meal in the oven, my husband and I noticed blue enamel chips in the bottom of tour household electric range interior of the oven portion (LG model: LSE4613ST /00 serial number: 001KMQG01084 manufacture date: January 2020). We searched extensively and did not observe any damage. We assumed that this was a remnant of manufacturing and cleaned it up, however; we retained those flakes. We did not notice any further issues until October 2021. Approximately around October 2, while cleaning the oven, my husband and I discovered more blue flakes matching the oven’s interior. We immediately called LG and they agreed to send a technician for diagnostic purposes. We continually reiterated that we purchased our home with this oven, so we did not have the original receipt, just the documentation with the oven on our bill of sale for the home. We were assured that that would not be a problem. The technician visited and coordinated with LG after seeing the pristine condition of the oven and the glass flakes that were falling from an unknown source in the oven’s interior. We were told by both the technician and LG customer service that this was absolutely a safety concern and were advised not to use the oven. Subsequent to the technician’s visit on October 7, LG made the determination to provide us with a refund or replacement from their Return Authorization (RA) department. At this point, the discussion stalled, because LG began asking us to provide original receipts and advised us that our documents from the purchase of our home were not sufficient for a refund or replacement without this product being under a recall. Without any way to obtain the original receipt, we have had no choice but to utilize this oven that has been deemed a safety hazard to us by the company that manufactured it. There are numerous phone conversations laying out the process for us to replace our defective product, however; LG changed what we were being told about their policies after it was apparent that this product would need to be replaced or the cost of it refunded to us. We are at a standstill with this company and are hoping that this is an issue we can have corrected to avoid any ill health effects to our family from ingesting this glass falling from an unknown source in the interior of our oven. In addition, it should be documented in recordings during our initial callas on Monday October 3 that LG disclosed to us that we were not the only ones who had experienced this phenomena.

This is an LG electric slide-in range with front controls. Anyone who leans slightly against the range can inadvertently turn on an element. You don’t notice until you see the element glowing red. This has happened at least a half dozen times. Today while working in the nearby cabinets, we set somethings temporarily on the stove and then left the kitchen briefly only to hear an explosion. Rushing back into the kitchen, a can of evaporated milk had exploded all over the cabinets, OTR microwave, floor, and ceiling. A couple of boxes of macaroni were charred and burning. The stove is now unusable and clearly this model is UNSAFE for any consumers

We have LG stove Model #LSE4613ST that has a fire hazard. The stove top dials will turn on when bumped. We had a fire when some groceries on the stove top caught fire when the person placing the bags there unknowingly bumped the dials, which turned the burner on. This accidental bumping happens all the time--a simple bump turns the burner on. Clearly, the spring in the dial is too weak--it takes only a gentle bump to turn on. Should take more force to turn a dial on. We have put something between the dial and stove to prevent this dangerous condition from causing another problem.

The product, in the report: LG Electric Range Model #LDE4413ST, dual oven, 5 burner stove, stainless UPC 048231319508
Our new LG electric range is entirely too easy to turn the burner on. We’ve had 2 fires on the stove top when the stove was not being used. The first time was about a month ago and a pizza box that was placed on the stove ignited. There was nothing cooking on the stovetop. We got our pizza and went to the living room and smoke filtering in alerted us to the fire. I thought it was a fluke accident. The second time, my son was heating chili in the microwave above the stove. He set the microwave cover on the stove stove to get his chili out and went to the living room. Again, smoke filtering in to the living room alerted us to a fire (melting). Both times, the knob was on high when we looked at the stove. After that happened, I knew it wasn’t a fluke, but a real safety hazard. Thinking back, there were times I was cooking and I noticed the warming burner was on and I had not turned it on. The knobs have been “turned on” by everyone in the family so it’s not just a coincidence that someone is just the right height or moves past the knobs just the right way. The range was not being used in any way during the 2 fires. Luckily there were no injuries and we were in the next room when the smoke billowed in.

The product, in the report: LG LRE 30451 oven Model 30451
My LG oven was pre-heating to a temperature of 425. Approximately 10 minutes into this cycle, I heard a large noise from the oven, observed a flash of bright light from inside the over. When I opened the oven door, I noted flames coming from the rear left floor section through a hole of about 1 inch in the metal. It did not get higher or cause the metal to open up further but burned for about 1 minute. My husband ran to turn the circuit breaker off to the oven. We have owned this oven since ~2008 and after this event happened tonight (5/15/21) I see on the internet that this oven model 30451 had been recalled. We were never made aware of this from Lowe’s or from LG.

No one hurt Made Apr 10, 2021, sent to the company Apr 13, 2021, published by CPSC Apr 27, 2021
The product, in the report: Product name: LG Range model No. LDE4413ST. Serial No. 511KMEM01140. Color: Black and brushed nickle. Width: 29.9”. Height: 47.2”. Depth: 28.9”. Fuel type: Electric. Cook Top: Smooth (Probake Convection). Date purchased: 12/17/2015.
We bought a home last month that was built in 2015. All appliances are from LG. The LG range stove top knobs (Model No. LDE4413ST, Serial No. 511KMEM01140) are easily bumped and activated into full (HI) operation by bumping the knob “Clockwise”. 30 minutes ago I put a reusable plastic grocery tote bag onto the largest electric burner and accidentally “bumped” the knob responsible for that burner. In no time, the bag melted generating an incredible amount of smoke which, thankfully, caught my attention. The knobs on this LG stove should be much, much harder to turn in either direction (Right - HI, Left - LOW). I feel this is an accident ready to happen and I’m concerned that an adult (or child) could be easily burned, or worse, the house may be at risk of “going up in flames”. Too scary that this happened so quickly and thank goodness, I was there to return the knob to the “Off” position, extinguish the “smelting” plastic bag and ventilate our home.

I purchased an LG electric stovetop and oven On 02/06/2021. The knobs on the stovetop ignite so easily that when just lightly brushing against them one or more burners will ignite. We noticed a thick smoke in my house because someone walked past the range and must have lightly leaned against it, and a plastic lid was touching one of the burners. We thought at first that the house was on fire, but fortunately it was a thick smoke coming from the melted and burned plastic. It took a whole 24 hours with all windows open for the toxic smoke and smell to clear. The Burners Unintentionally ignite way too often. The knobs will turn on most frequently when cleaning or when leaning on the stovetop to get something into or out of the LG microwave oven that sits above the stove. This is clearly a burn and/or fire hazard. I have already called the manufacturer and also called Costco.com to alert them.

The product, in the report: LG electric range, 30”, model LRE3061BD, black exterior, glass stove top, interior of oven is blue porcelain
We own a LG LRE3061BD electric range. Yesterday after baking a pizza in the oven and while cutting the pizza, I noticed a blue chip approximately .5cm in size on top of the pizza. In checking the oven, we determined the chip came from the oven AND found numerous other much smaller chips on the bottom of the oven. In addition we looked at a pie baked the day before and found a very small blue chip on top of the pie! In exploring this problem on various sites on the internet, including LG’s own site, the info available indicates this problem has existed at least since 2016 and has been brought to the attention of LG. LG thus far has said it is a cosmetic problem and the product owner is responsible for repairing any chipping and flaking of the porcelain oven interior. This is a health safety issue LG should address immediately! The flakes and chips are GLASS. Humans ingesting these can be severely injured.

The product, in the report: LG 36” Electric Cooktop, Model:LCE3610SB
We bought an LG cooktop from Best Buy on 9/5/2020 and we found the glass top of the cooktop is broken on 10/5/2020 only after one month of regulator use. We call the LG customer service for several time and they just did not give us any effective answer and sending us back and forth to Best Buy or LG. That has wasted a lot of our time and we are still going in circle. We did not punch or drop something on the glass top but LG insisted that is the reason why the glass top is broken even though in the email they used “it seems to be..” to describe the issue. For common sense, the glass top of a cooktop should be designed to be able to endure sudden temperature change because water or oil splashing is inevitable in daily cooking. If the glass cannot handle something like this for even a month, this LG product is produced with flaw in design and should not be purchased by any customers. Instead, anyone purchased this product should get proper compensation and services to avoid trouble in further using this product. We do not have any other option since LG do not want to cover this product under the warranty.

Turned on right front burner. Boiled water. Once water had started to boil, used the touchpad controls to turn down the burner (from setting 10 to setting 5). Noticed that the burner did not cycle off to reduce heat. Used the touchpad control to turn burner off. The burner would not turn off. Used the breaker(s) to turn off range. After a couple of minutes turned on the breaker. Activated the back right burner to continue cooking. The front right burner turned on (the back right burner also turned on). The front right burner would not turn off. The back right burner did turn off. Used breaker again to turn off range. After a few minutes turned the breaker back on. Before any controls were touched, standing near stove discussing the issue, after a approximately one minute, the front right burner turned on without any action on our part. We then tried to turn the burner off using the touchpad. Again the burner would not turn off. We turned off the breaker, called for service, and have not turned on breaker since,

Further, this model is dangerous because the marking on the burner knobs wears off.

Was using our LG Lre30453st Freestanding Electric Range to cook dinner. The wife set the two front burners on low and had some food cooking in the oven. She told me to keep a eye on the oven while she takes a shower. I notice the food on top of the stove was acting as if the burner was on high. I looked and the displays show both tops burners were set to low but the large burner was glowing red and very hot. The food in the pan was bubbling and burning.
I removed the food from the burner and hit the button to turn the large burner off but it wouldn’t turn off. It stayed glowing red and was putting out alot of heat. I had to pull the stove out while the burner remained on and unplug the unit to get it to turn off. We had bo idea there was a recall for this and was never informed of any recalls.
