Luckily no injuries as she walked away, but usually once she starts pre heating she turns around to start prepping vegetables. If this had been the case she would have been blasted by the glass

    While preparing supper this evening the outside glass of my oven door exploded into a million pieces. It is a Frigidaire range purchased at Lowes in 2019. My husband was in the room, it sounded like a gunshot as glass flew out 3-4 foot from the stove. Thankfully no injuries. The oven was set at 350 degrees and had been on less than 1 hour.

    I have a Frigidaire stove. I was at my in-laws for my birthday dinner and returned home roughly an hour ago to find the glass to my oven was shattered across my kitchen floor. The last time my over was cooked in was last Thursday, I did however use the burner on top January 25th at 7 pm. Since then, it hadnt been used at all. Not has it been cleaned since 6 months ago. After much confusion and research it was highly advised I report it. Apparently there isnt any recalls. Which is a shame because I do have a two year old who had he been near it when this occurred I can only imagine the consequences . Seeing the price to replace, I will now go purchase a new oven that is NOT Frigidaire.

    The product, in the report: Frigidaire 5.3 CU FT Freestanding Electric Range Stove stainless steel

    On December 21, 2024, the Frigidaire stove I purchased from Best Buy in September 2023, which was delivered in October 2023 due to delays, experienced a spontaneous explosion of the oven door glass while the oven was off. I immediately contacted Frigidaire, but the representative stated the issue was outside of warranty and that there was nothing they could do. During my lengthy hold time, I discovered that over 900 consumers have reported the same issue to the Consumer Bureau, and there is currently a class action lawsuit regarding this defect. I emphasized to the representative that this is a serious manufacturing defect, as the exploding glass caused injury to my legs and feet. Despite this, the representative seemed unconcerned. When I requested to speak with a supervisor to address the matter, the call was abruptly disconnected.

    On my second call to Frigidaire on December 21, 2024, after another extended wait, I requested a supervisor again. The representative assured me that a supervisor would call me back, but as of today, January 16, 2025, I have not received any follow-up.

    I contacted Frigidaire a third time on December 30, 2024. The representative offered a 10% discount on a new stove or suggested a technician could come to repair the stove, with me being responsible for both the backordered part and the repair costs. I reiterated that I would prefer Frigidaire to recall the stove and investigate the root cause of this defect, especially given the significant number of complaints from over 909 consumers.

    As a Total Tech member, I also called Best Buy on December 31, 2024 (case# [REDACTED]) , to report the issue. The representative assured me that Best Buy would contact Frigidaire to investigate the problem and follow up with me. However, I received no follow-up.

    On January 8, 2025, I called Best Buy again (case# [REDACTED]) and spoke with Representative [REDACTED]. He informed me that the notes on my case indicated I should follow up with the manufacturer. I explained that both Best Buy and Frigidaire had been unhelpful, and I expressed concern over the continued sale of this stove given the consumer complaints and ongoing class action lawsuit. I urged Best Buy and Frigidaire to address the issue before someone is seriously injured. During this call, [REDACTED] arranged for a supervisor, [REDACTED], to contact me. [REDACTED] advised me to email [REDACTED] for further assistance.

    the sides of the stove gets so hot its almost as hot as the burner ! This stove is a piece of crap I called Lowes and they just passed the buck said contact Frigidaire about it, !t only had a thirty day warranty After I bought it ! When I got ready to use it it was wrapped in plastic with tape started to take tape off pulled paint off with it ! It has been a disaster from day 1 only had thirty day warranty that they failed to mention,30 days I bought a longer warranty but couldnt get house repaired and it ran out couldnt afford to reinstate it Called Lowes we got stove unpacked told them it wasnt working right , got Nothing from them ! I have a [REDACTED] post about it when I first used the stove about the tape and pulling the paint off ! Then the burners unpredictability heat its awful! The top and side of the stove beside the burner on the side is so hot it could burn you ! There is probably nothing that can be done for me now but I feel like this stove could be a danger to others especially children even if they didnt touch the action burner only the top of it while cooking !

    We purchased a new Frigidaire 27” dual electric oven, model GCWD2767D, on December 12, 2024. It was installed on December 16, 2024. As part of the installation, we ran the top and bottom ovens at 350 for 45 minutes, as directed by our installer, to remove any chemical preservatives. We decided to use the top oven on December 19, 2024. We set the oven at 425 and ran it for 36 minutes. We were cooking chicken on rack #3 and vegetables and potatoes on rack #1. We set the timer and all seemed good.

    When the timer chimed, I opened the oven to remove the first [REDACTED] cooking dish and set it aside. As I turned to the oven to retrieve the second [REDACTED] dish, I heard a loud noise and saw the inner glass had shattered into hundreds of pieces. We waited 40 minutes for the oven to cool and removed about 95% of the broken glass so we could close the oven.

    We checked online and this seems to be an issue with Frigidaire ovens, so we’re reporting our experience here. We will call Frigidaire in the morning to report the issue to them and schedule a repair.

We looked in the oven to see if anything was burning and nothing was. We turned off the oven and felt the outside walls of the cabinet, it was not hot. We lifted up the range top over the oven and smoke poured out from underneath it. this setoff the house smoke Detectors. When we pulled the oven out of its location we noticed the bottom of the cabinet was black, charred and smoking. We poured water on it to extinguish the chard wood. We inspected the bottom of the oven to see the bottom of the oven, was also damaged by excessive heat.

    The glass panel on the door of my Frigidaire range (Model Number: FFEF3054TS) spontaneously exploded. My husband, myself, and our family pet dog were near it, in the kitchen, when it happened. We heard a loud bang sound and saw that the glass on the front of the range was all shattered with some having shot out a short distance in front of the unit and pieces continuing to rain down. I did not get a picture of the damage, but I have confirmation that I ordered the replacement part from Frigidaire who was not helpful saying that my warranty was up but they transferred me to their parts dealer would sell me the part, which by the way is the wrong part, but they won’t let me return it because it’s already been installed. I had to order the replacement part three times, the first time it was the wrong part, the second time it came damaged, and the third it was the wrong part, but I replaced it anyway because the holidays are coming up and I need my oven.

    Upon wiping the bottom of our Frigidaire double convection oven to clean up a small spill, I realized that the oven enamel was coming off of the oven cavity. The product was being used normally as a typical oven user would. It is unclear to us whether we could have possibly ingested oven enamel due to this issue. The oven is a convection oven and uses a fan on certain settings. If the oven enamel is coming off, is is reasonable to believe that the particles could get into our food and might have been consumed by us prior to this discovery. The oven interior is black so the particles can appear black and clear and might go unnoticed in food consumed. This has the potential to be a health hazard to us since oven enamel should not be consumed by the consumer. We immediately discontinued use of the oven upon this finding and sought repair or replacement from Frigidaire. Frigidaire claimed it to be a cosmetic defect and also blamed us for this issue despite normal use of the oven. We tried 3 times to get a resolution, but were unsuccessful. We also tried to have [REDACTED] (the credit card used to purchase the oven) help us under their extended warranty provision, but they would not cover the oven either. We do not feel it is safe to use the oven and are now reaching out for your assistance.

    I, a 49 yo female, had my oven set to high broil for about 4 minutes to crisp something and then all of a sudden the outer glass of the oven shattered. Some of the glass ricocheted after falling to the floor. A lot of the remainder stayed cracked within the window frame. That eventually fell out within the next 30 seconds. Then i had very small glass pieces all over on the kitchen floor and in my oven drawer where i store my cookie sheets and pot lids. We did vacuum the glass but im very concerned abput accidently ingesting glass.

    I have a Frigidaire Glass Top Stove/Oven. It is only 2 years old. I was using the oven making dinner and it was only on for about 20 mins. Once I turned it off it sat about 15 minutes cooling down and out of now where the front glass on the oven door exploded. Glass flew all over my kitchen and into my living room. I have 2 small children and was very thankful they were not in the kitchen at the time. I have looked at many reviews of this this same thing happening to other people. I called Frigidaire directly to tell them what happened and that I did nothing to cause it to break and they told me they will not replace.

    Our Frigidaire oven/range is 6 years old. Today, with the oven and range having been off for over 12 hours, with nothing touching it and at a normal room temperature, the outside glass on the oven door spontaneously shattered, making a large crashing sound and dropping shards of glass all over our kitchen floor. After this, I removed as much broken glass as safely possible from the door and surrounding floor. Still, for hours after the initial incident, the glass continued to make a crackling sound and drop more shards of glass on the floor.

    I was sitting in my living room when I heard a very loud noise/explosion. I walked into my kitchen and the glass oven door on my fridigidare had exploded and the glass was shattered and there were pieces of glass all over my floor. The oven was off and cold. Thankfully there was no one in the room at the time.

    The Risk of Harm for this incident is that multiple pieces of glass went flying in my kitchen. These pieces of glasses could have ended up in me or in my mom, who is on a blood thinner. If the glass would have landed on her, it literally could have been catastrophic.

    The product, in the report: Frigidaire 30” Electric Range, Model Number LFEF3054TFU, S/N VF31703412. Appliance was brand new and included with my new construction home that I closed on 08/25/2023.

    On 08/07/2024, the outer glass on my Frigidaire oven exploded for no apparent reason. The oven was on and set at 375 degrees, under normal operating conditions, baking a tray of vegetables, when the glass shattered. The door was closed, and nothing impacted the glass. From a simple [REDACTED] search, there have been several other complaints filed with CPSC about the glass doors shattering for no reason and Frigidaire has done nothing about it.

    My wife was standing next to oven when the glass shattered and she was hit by shards of safety glass as it bounced across the tile floor. I did have to dig a piece of glass out of her foot, however further medical attention was not required.

    The product is a Frigidaire 30” Electric Range, Model Number: LFEF3054TFU. I moved into my new home on 08/25/2023 and had all new Frigidaire kitchen appliances included with the home. According the Frigidaire website, all four different styles electric ranges under this model number have been discontinued. There are no listed recalls on the Frigidaire website for this range.

    (Spring 2024): He experienced all 3 problems noted in the CPSC Recall# 24-235. The problems occurred for approximately 2 weeks consecutively, then stopped suddenly.

    1. The range turn spontaneously. 2. Sometimes the burner jumped to a higher cooking temperature, than it was set to. 3. He may have had the 3rd issue of it remaining on, when turned off, but with all the other issues occurring frequently, he was not sure.

    (7/2024): The problems above returned and the product often made a constant beeping sound, when malfunctioning.

    The range has never been serviced for these issues.

    The consumer called the manufacturer but was told that model was not included in the recall.

    My Frigidaire Electric range Model No. FGEH3047VFD turned itself on during the night. I awoke to the smell of something burning. The oven was on at a temperature of 550 degrees F for an unknown amount of time. I was unable to turn the oven off, the digital key pad was not responding. The exterior surface of the over was very hot. I used oven mitts to pull the range out from the cabinetry and unplug from the power source. There were three skillets stored inside the oven and the handles burned and created a thick ash coating inside the oven.

    The product, in the report: It was a Frigidaire electric stove with coils for the cook top, and a stainless steel facade around tempered glass for the oven door. The stove was considered black with a stainless front.

    I had a a Frigidaire electric stove with a glass front door for the oven. While I was cooking on the cook top, the oven door just shattered. Nothing touched it. It wasn’t on. I was standing in front of it at the time. I had to throw away a pair of shoes that I could not get glass out of as well as the socks and pants that I was wearing. Fortunately our puppy had left the area moments before. I contacted Frigidaire and didn’t really get an answer, so seeing as it was the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving, I had to buy a new stove with a rush delivery date so had to take what I could get. I did NOT buy another stove like that one however. My mother saw a story on our local news and told me to report it. I have already gotten rid of it but the link is to the model, just in white

    The product, in the report: Model LFEF3054TDC; Serial VF72935543; Frigidaire 30-in Glass Top 5 Burners 5.4-cu ft Steam Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range (Black Stainless Steel)

    My Frigidaire Model LFEF3054TDC oven was set to 400 degrees as I was baking a casserole. About 30 minutes into bake time, the oven glass door shattered, sending popping hot glass pieces all over my kitchen! Prior to this occurrence, there were no issues with the appliance and no imperfections in the glass that would have contributed to this event. Had my family been standing in the kitchen, we would be at the emergency room from cut wounds. Cleanup has taken an extensive amount of time as the glass shot off in all directions. The oven is now unusable and we are fearful to even use the stove portion without knowing it’s risks.

    The product, in the report: Frigidaire Electric Range. Black electric stove top range

    Our electric range is having issues. The back burner on the stovetop doesn’t shut off. Always seems to be on. We unplug it for an hour but eventually just goes on. We removed the dial so no one would use it. But it still goes on or feels warm...need to know what needs to be done so no one gets burned or a fire doesn’t start.

    I didn’t see this model # on the recall list but it needs to be added!! Can anything be done to resolve this issue?

    The product, in the report: free standing electric range

    The oven turned on by itself and jumped to 550 degrees (broil setting). The consumer tripped the breaker and unplugged it from the wall outlet.

    This also happened with his wife in the past.

    NOTE: The range top has control knobs, but the oven has touchtone controls.

    Due to his safety concerns, the consumer trips the breaker for the range every time he leaves the home.

    He tried to call the manufacturer but could not find a working number. He sent them an email, but it bounced back undeliverable.

    Frigidaire Range Model Number: FGEF304DKFA Serial Number: NF95112656 Date: December, 2009 Made in Canada When you go to turn off one of the electric burners, the burner will randomly turn itself on and off. You can hear the beeping as it does this and also see the burner physically turn on and off. Seems to be associated with the current Frigidaire/Electrolux potentiometer recall, but my range model number isn’t listed. This happens a lot with one of the burners so we try not to use that burner.
