    On 9/11/2025 at [REDACTED]pm my Frigidaire oven model FFEF3054TSM Serial number VF03609894 suddenly shattered the outer door glass while baking at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. The kitchen floor was covered in sheets and jagged pebbles of broken glass that continued to crackle and rain down for hours after the initial shattering of glass. There was no previous known damage or cracks to the glass. There was no one touching the oven at the time. The inner door glass remained intact. I shut off the oven immediately and replaced the outer glass two days later. Since there was no one present near the oven when it shattered there were no direct injuries but there would have been cuts from broken glass if anyone had been standing near it when it happened. I did get cut while cleaning up the glass despite being very careful.

    I have a frigidaire flat top stove with knobs on the top of the stove. Since we have had the stove it has had a clicking/humming noise everytime we turn it on. For the last yr or so the burner will not turn off and the heat is wide open even while cooking no matter what temperature it is set on. We have to lift the pan up or set it to the side for a few minutes before continuing to cook. After cooking we have to unplug the stove.

It just decided to explode and ruin my day.

    About 15 minutes after I took a casserole out of the oven and had sat down to eat we heard a huge boom and went and looked to find the outside glass shattered. Luckily nobody was hurt. The appliance is a Frigidaire electric range bought in November of 2021. We have the extended warranty through Lowes and worked all day yesterday trying to take care of this with no luck. Im at a point I need to talk to a person and could not get that to happen.

    I purchased a new built-in oven for replacement of existing oven 7/12/2025 online at Lowe’s. It was delivered and installed by Lowe’s on 7/28/25. On 8/12/25 it made a loud pop while preheating and smoke poured out of it. The Lowe’s installers came the next day and determined it was not an installation issue and told me to call frigidaire. They sent a technician 8/14/25 who said the convection fan motor was faulty and caught on fire. He was unable to order replacement parts because frigidaire had not yet assigned replacement part numbers for this model. I called frigidaire 8/21/25 and asked for the part numbers and passed the info on to technician ([REDACTED]). Parts were delivered to home 8/24/25. Technician returned to install them 8/26/25 but was unable to because they were the wrong parts. We called frigidaire and they said parts were not available. I still do not have a working oven.

    What happened that made you want to report? The exterior glass panel of our Frigidaire oven door spontaneously shattered while the oven was not in use. We heard a loud crash and found the glass completely broken with shards scattered across our kitchen floor. What type of product was being used? Frigidaire electric range/oven, Model FFEI3054TSF. Who was using the product? The oven is used by two adults in our household. At the time of the incident, no one was operating the oven. How was the product being used? The oven was not in use at the time. It was sitting in our kitchen under normal household conditions. Typically, we use it a few times a week to cook meals for two adults and two young children. Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened? Fortunately, no one was injured. However, the potential for injury was extremely high. We have a one-year-old and a four-year-old who often play in the kitchen. If they had been present, they could have suffered severe cuts from the shattered glass. Additionally, if the glass had shattered while the oven was hot and in use, it could have caused burns and more serious injuries. How did any injuries appear? No physical injuries occurred in this incident because we immediately cleared the glass. The primary concern is the significant risk of injury that could have happened to children or adults under normal household use.

    We were using the upper oven of our Frigidaire Gallery double oven when the left rear burner suddenly turned on at high heat despite the dial being set to off. We tried turning the dial on and off, but the burner remained at full heat. We shut off power to the oven using our electric panel and turned it back on. The issue still occurred so the oven was again shut off from the electric panel. No one was injured.

    I have a Frigidaire Professional Series Even Cook Convection Oven. I turned on the oven to cook a pizza. About 5 minutes into the preheat, the oven begun to smoke profusely. I thought the oven was burning off debris that I couldn’t see, despite there being no debris in the oven. About 2 minutes after noticing the smoke, the oven caught fire on the left side. I open the over door, and the fire went out on the left side, but caught on the right. Then, the left reignited. I turned off the oven and put out the fire. There was so much smoke, my family and I had to leave our home. Once it was safe to reenter our home, I took the bottom cover off of the oven to try to determine why a fire started. There was no debris, and again, thought maybe it burned off. I allowed the oven to cool completely and turn the oven on to see if it would catch fire again. Unfortunately, it did, but faster than the last time. I turned off the oven, and haven’t used it since.

    I own a Frigidaire FFEF3016VS 5 electric range. On 07/16/2025, the outer glass panel of the oven door suddenly shattered without warning. The oven had not been used in over two days and was completely cool. I had just moved the oven slightly to unplug and replug it after a control panel issue. After retrieving the model number from the lower drawer, I stood up and walked awayonly for the glass door to explode violently less than 30 seconds later.

    There was no impact, no heat, no pressure appliedthis happened spontaneously. Glass shards scattered several feet across the room. Thankfully I was not standing in front of it when it exploded, but I had been moments earlier.

    Ive since found numerous reports of this same issue with Frigidaire ovens. I believe this may be a systemic safety hazard involving faulty tempered glass or manufacturing defects.

    Please investigate this incident and consider whether this model needs to be recalled or further examined for consumer safety.

Fortunately, I had just sent my two young boys out to the car and had taken a few steps past the oven while holding my 1-year-old when I heard the sound of glass exploding. When I turned around, there was glass scattered across the kitchen floor and a large hole in the oven doors front glass panel. I am filing this report because in searching how to clean up and replace the glass, I found multiple reports of similar incidents involving Frigidaire oven doors spontaneously breaking. I believe it is important to document this safety issue.

She then waited to hear back from them. 6/5/2025: The consumer called the manufacturer again. She was told that the appliance was out of warranty, and they would not cover any repair costs.

    The touch screen on my range is so sensitive that even if you bump it with parts of your body that are not your fingers it will turn on functions. Normally I hear the beep and turn it off. However, one evening I believe it turned itself on to the self-cleaning mode when I had pots and pans stored in it and caused hazardous smoke because of a silicone item that had been placed inside a pan. I could not get the self clean function to turn off and had to pull the range out to unplug it. Luckily I was able to open several windows and run several fans for hours until the worst of the smell was gone.

    Hi there! My Frigidaire oven basically combusted which caused glass to explode throughout our kitchen in our home. This product is a few years out of warranty and the company said they could not help with the issue. I feel that this is a serious safety issue and could have caused major harm considering there were pieces of glass being shot throughout the kitchen at the time of combustion. The oven was not at all being misused and happened completely unprompted.

    I am reporting a serious and recurring safety issue with our Frigidaire oven. This is the second time in less than one year that the ovens glass door has shattered spontaneously and violently. The first time this happened was June 2024. I contacted Frigidaire and opened a claim. However, I was told that “maybe one of my kids had accidentally hit the glass which caused to explode”.

    Most recently, we turned the oven on to preheat, and within 30 seconds, the glass door exploded without warning. The sound was deafeninglike a gunshotand glass shards flew across the kitchen. Thankfully, my children were not present at the time. If they had been, this could have resulted in severe injuries.

    We experienced the exact same incident last summer, and reported it to Frigidaire. However, they failed to take any responsibility or offer support to cover the cost of replacing the glass door. This response is unacceptable, especially given the clear and present danger this product poses.

    I am deeply concerned that this oven is not safe for consumers. The force and unpredictability of the glass shattering make it a serious hazard, particularly in households with children. I fear that someoneespecially a childcould be seriously harmed or worse if this continues to happen.

    Is there a recall in place for this model? If not, there absolutely should be. I urge your office to investigate this product before it causes a catastrophic injury.

    As it stands, we no longer have a functioning oven, and we are unwilling to repair it again given the ongoing risk. We simply cannot trust this product in our home any longer.

    Please take this report seriously. I truly believe lives could be at risk if this issue is not addressed.

And watch the food cooking. For some reason I just said no I need you to go play with your toys! Mom is just going to get this done quickly! And within a matter a seconds after I sent her away from the stove and then I was standing in front of it. Then the glass door of the oven exploded!!! Not cracked! Not shattered! Exploded!!!! It sounded as if a gun went off in my house!! At first I was just stunned I didnt know what happened and then I looked down and saw! I had some glass in my legs nothing serious thankfully!!! But the biggest thing was my body shielded my daughter from direct impact! If I did not send her away that would have literally exploded in her face!!!

    While I was using my oven, the glass for the oven door exploded. The oven was at 375 for 35 minutes. The timer went off. The noise was the explosion of the oven glass . The ten additional minutes on the timer had not even gone off as yet.

    Oven Fire Issue

    1. First noticed odd burning smells in approximately November of 2024. 2. Smells were more pronounced around Thanksgiving 3. Burnt food smell was eliminated as there was no burnt food. 4. Burnt oven smells were eliminated as oven was clean. 5. Oven self-clean system was employed also. 6. Started noticing ash fragments in the drawer below the oven. 7. As more ashes were found, over time, the decision was taken to call our home warranty provider to determine the source and cause of the ashes and the status of the oven. 8. The 2-10 Warranty Company sent an appliance serviceman who evaluated the problem, but did not remove the oven from the cabinet. He determined that a hole of approximately 8 inches in diameter had burned through the wood that separates the oven from the drawer below the oven. He concluded that the oven was at fault and recommended that the oven be replaced. 9. A second appliance company service man evaluated the problem but did not remove the oven from the cabinet. He concluded the problem, in his opinion, was due to the wood used in the cabinet. 10. On 2/6/25 a service man, from ABC Appliance Repair, evaluated the problem and did remove the oven from the cabinet. He speculated that the spacers designed to separate the wood from the oven might not have been utilized during installation and may have been the source of the problem. However, when he pulled the oven from the cabinet he determined that the spacers were properly in place. He examined the wood and the burn hole and stated, in his opinion, that the wood used to separate the oven from the drawer was not consistent with City code and was the cause of the burn hole. 11. On 2/6/25 I spoke with [REDACTED], the General Manager, from Signature Homes, the builder of our home. He stated that Signature Homes has built hundreds of homes, utilizing the same cabinet maker and same wood as our home and that this type of wood has never caused a fire. He said the same wood is used in the cabinets in his personal home. 12. On 2/11/25 I spoke with [REDACTED] from the Rogers, Arkansas Inspectors office. He stated that there is no City code pertaining to the type of wood to be used to separate an oven from a drawer and that he would be happy to testify that, in his opinion, the oven was at fault. He also referred me to [REDACTED] from Consumer Affairs and said he felt [REDACTED] would want to know about the oven issue.

We restarted breaker and after an hour it happened again. We had to shut it down cos we dont want to risk it being a fire hazzard
