I was washing this product, trying to remove the blades so that I could wash them too, when the lock button got stuck. I tried to get it to unlock, then all of a sudden the button broke off and I sliced my thumb and fingernail.

The locking cab it is designed to hold the cutting blade insert in place slides toward the blade. When I was finished cleaning and locking and blade back in place the blade lock slipped out and my fingers went onto the blade slicing it open badly. I said have had stitches however I did not go to the doctor. My finger has now healed however there is still some lingering pain in my finger tip as well as lack of feeling. I have images if needed.

While using the multi-blade, I went to replace the blade with another to change the size of the dice. Went I pushed the locking mechanism to hold the new blade in place it broke, my fingers slipped into the blade and caused laceration on my index and middle fingers.

I purchased the Mueller Austria Onion Chopper Pro model number M-700. I just got an email that there was a recall on this for the tab breaking where it locks the blade into place. I had this happen not too soon after I purchased this product. The blades are very sharp so I haven’t used it very much after that because I’m worried about them coming loose and getting cut.

Mueller Austria Onion Chopper Pro Vegetable Chopper
We purchased this product and used it successfully without incident. However, at some point the (fine) metal grid started to come loose and a piece broke off and ended up in our vegetables. If someone had swallowed food prepared with it, it would have cut the inside of their throat. Please recall!

I was trying to engage the safety lock. Instead of sliding into place, it came off, sending my hand across the blades of the unit, slicing my right index finger. It bled heavily, but I was able to stop it with pressure and ice and did not need to seek medical care. Looking at negative reviews of the unit, I see several other customers experienced similar injuries, including one that required stitches, so I believe this is a known design issue that needs to be corrected.

This is now the 2nd time the lock button has broke causing my finger to slip and slice open. Major design flaw where the lock button is easily broken causing your finger to slip onto the sharp blades. I’ve read multiple other complaints on amazon where people ended up needing stitches. I may as well.

The product, in the report: Mueller onion chopper pro vegetable chopper
I was using the mueller onion chopper pro for probably the 4th or 5th time. The design is that you put the blades into place and then use a locking mechanism to lock them before using it to chop food. I was locking the blades into place when the locking mechanism broke, causing my hand to go forward into the blades slicing my finger in the process, which warranted an urgent care visit and 3 stitches.
