When using the oven and after it is cooling down, sometimes even randomly, the control panel will press buttons on its own, sometimes even turning the oven back on. This is a safety hazard and Ive seen others online noting the same problem.

    I was cooking dinner for my family and had chicken baking in our Frigidaire oven at 375 degrees. It had been baking for approximately 45 minutes so I decided to whip potatoes at the counter directly across from the oven. My son was sitting at the kitchen table and the dog was nearby. There was a loud BOOM (like a small bomb had exploded) and glass flew everywhere, even hitting me in the back of the legs. I was not injured because I had long pants on. I turned to look and the outside glass panel of the oven door exploded and shot glass everywhere. It scared everyone in the house.

    Oven glass door shattered

    Caller stated that the outer oven glass door shattered into million pieces all over his kitchen floor while it was not in use. He stated that a service technician was sent out for inspection. They advised him that a replacement was ordered but was on back order and did not know when he would receive the replacement. He stated that he contacted local retailer and disputed the bill for the replacement door which they did refund. Caller stated that he is still waiting for the replacement door.

    Caller feels that the oven door is a safety hazard and should be reported.

    I own a Frigidaire Oven model number FCRE3052ASA. In the middle of the night the front glass pane spontaneously shattered. The oven had not been in use for 3-4 hours prior to the shattering of the glass. There was no one near the oven at the time. Aside from small cuts on my hand from cleaning the shattered glass there were no major injuries.

    My Frigidaire stove (Model GCRI3058AF) had the front glass on the oven door explode unexpectedly. I contacted the company and they’re telling me they refuse to cover the issue because it’s out of warranty. There are many reports online of people having the same issue with these stoves, and Frigidaire is refusing to address it with a recall or refund. What makes this worse is that my wife and 6yo son were in the kitchen when it sent pieces of glass across the room. Frigidaire is being negligent and endangering people.

    Caller stated that his stove gets extremely hot to the touch and that he cannot get the company to address the problem. He has been experiencing the problem for about 4 years ago when he purchased it. The company is unwilling to assist him and advised that he purchase a service contract for the stove. He stated that he has to use gloves to adjust the control panel because of the temperature of the metals on the burners. Caller stated that this is an unsafe issue and would like the manufacturer to address the problem. Caller feels that the problem is poor insulation for the interior of the unit.

    My new Frigidaire stove model # FCRE3052BB does not have safety knobs on it. It came with the house. We’ve accidentally have turned on the stove without realizing it. If small children or pets bump into to it or grab it, it could start a fire. I reported it to the company and it seems to me that they don’t care. All stoves should have safety knobs no matter the model.

    I had an issue with my Frigidaire-branded range (made by Electrolux) previously where I dropped a bowl onto the front-positioned burner knobs of the range, and a spark flew out of the knob, and the range lost power. I checked the breaker in my house, and was able to reset it and continue to use it. A second time this occurred but the knob was hit by my grandmother on accident who leaned into it. The same issue occurred where a spark flew from the range, and the unit lost power. I reset the breaker as I did previously. In this instance the oven no longer operated but the stovetop still worked. We contacted Frigidaire for repair which was completed on 5/16/2024. The range worked fine until I was in the middle of cooking a meal on 5/28 and hit a knob on accident with a saucepan and it sparked again, and lost power. I attempted to reset the breaker but was met with an instant tripping of the breaker again. I waited a few minutes and reset the breaker again, and this time was met with a loud pop and flash of light from an arc of electricity behind the main breaker panel. I concluded it was futile to attempt this again as an electrical fire seemed possible. No injuries occurred but could have if I continued to reset the breaker. I’ve attempted to contact the company who makes and repairs to schedule a repair, though their time frame is a week out with no respite or recompense for our troubles.

    I contacted Frigidaire customer service on Tuesday, May 28th, to report an issue with the exterior oven glass on my mother’s Frigidaire oven exploding during use. The model # is LFEF3054TFG and the serial # is VF90510005.

    While I understand this unit is out of warranty, it is only 4 years old. The glass was not damaged and she was simply baking a meatloaf. Luckily no one was in front of the unit, as the force of the failure blew the glass 8 ft across the kitchen. I simply don’t believe this to be an ordinary wear and tear failure. If it was an element, or some type of electrical issue, I’d say oh well and move on.

    I was offered 10% off a replacement part, however I am hesitant to trust a part from the same source that provided the failed one. There are smaller children in the house on occasion, as well as dogs. Just the right height to sustain facial injury.

I was standing in the kitchen across from the range waiting for the timer to go off and the front glass spontaneously exploded shooting shards of glass all over the house including spraying my legs with glass. I reached out to Frigidaire to rectify the situation as this is a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE and someone is going to get seriously injured. Had my daughter been standing next to me it would have sprayed glass in her face. I did not require medical attention but continue to find little spots of irritation in my right leg and find little shards of glass imbedded just under the skin and have picked or squeezed out several small shards of glass just below the knee.

    The glass in our Frigidaire oven door shattered spontaneously. The oven was in the process of preheating to 400 degree (but at this point was barely even warm) when we were sitting in the living room- approximately 40 feet from the oven. We heard a loud crashing sound from the kitchen and went over to see that our oven door glass had shattered all over the floor. While cleaning the shattered glass up, I stepped on a small shard of broken glass and cut my foot. I was able to remove the glass but in the process, cut my finger. The glass shard was very small but very sharp. I hope I was able to adequately clean all the glass up as I have pets and dont want them to get cut.

    The consumer indicates that the knobs get really hot to the touch when the oven is turned on, and two of them get extremely hot. The consumer measured the tempeture on one of them and it read 165 Fahrenheit. The consumer also notes that the unit makes a very loud noise when the oven is on.

    The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to arranged for a service technician to inspect the unit. Once in his home, the service technician installed a new seal around the door. The service technician contacted the manufacturer while at the consumer’s home and they informed him that anything below 180 Fahrenheit is an acceptable temperature for knobs. The new seal did not solve the problem.

    The consumer states that the cooktop is used two to three times per week whereas the oven about once weekly.

    Frigidaire Oven w/air fryer. Model Number: GCRG3060AF, Serial Number VF01079809. Anytime the air fryer is used the exhaust vent dispenses heat directly below the controller panel to the oven, rendering the control panel useless with no way to shut off oven for several minutes until it ultimately fails with the error code 666 typed in automatically and followed by a FAIL error and then thank god the oven shuts off. This happens all the time in air fry unless i dampen the metal surrounding the controller keypad with water from a wet paper towel and then point a fan directly at the water. This cools the overheating controller by removing the heat caused by the exhaust vent directly below the controller. When the water beads evaporate from the fan i add new ones with a wet paper towel and do this over and over (usually 5 times) until i am finished cooking with air fryer. Oven mode will sometimes do this if i go over 400 degrees. This is clearly a failure by design to exhaust the heat in the oven away from the controller panel which when overheated becomes rendered useless with no way to shut of the over because the buttons do not work. This is very dangerous and their are several complaints on [REDACTED] website from other owners experiencing the same issue. [REDACTED]. This problem has been happening since January 2020 to the present time.

    There is already one recall for the knobs on this cooktop, however there are MANY issues with it. Its how easily it ignites. How easily the gas comes on. The knobs turn without any resistance. A dog, a child, putting away dishes, cleaning, walking by it...any bump/contact turns the knob.Many times including today. I also reported this more than a year ago when I reported the now button recall here. The gas pressure keeps raising over time, the amount of gas coming from each burner keeps increasing over time. We reported this as part of the warranty and they adjusted it but its again much worse. This is just a poorly made system but I paid a lot and it should be recalled

    On Jan 27, 2024 around 6am my family was scared awake by an explosion in our kitchen. The front tempered glass on our Frigidaire stove spontaneously exploded. The explosion was strong enough to send glass thirteen feet across the kitchen into my livingroom. The last time the stove was used was on Jan 24, 2024. I cut my finger while cleaning up the intact glass that was still stuck in the stove. I contacted Frigidaire on Jan 29,2024 and explained what happened. I asked to speak to a supervisor after being told they couldnt do anything. I was told that one would be in contact with me in 24 hours. I did not recieve a call or email back from Frigidaire.

    The consumer and his family were in his loving room when they hard a loud explosion. When the consumer’s wife went to the kitchen, she realized the outer glass panel of the oven door had exploded and shards of glass were all over the kitchen floor.

    The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to informed him they could not assist him free of charge because the unit was no longer under warranty.

    The consumer states that both cooktop and oven were used approximately three to four times per week. I’m sorry, but I did not even think to take a picture. I know the pictures on the internet are not of mine but it was exactly like them.

    As a captain on a fire pumper in [REDACTED] Nebraska we responded to a residence that had an oven that would not shut off.     Caller stated that the Oven exceeded temperature and they had a service call in 2/23, while cooking on (7/8/23) she heard a rumbling noise, there were flames and smoke emanating from the rear of the oven. The fire department was called, she stated that the incident caused the breaker to trip which dissipated the flames before the fire department arrived.

    Caller stated that flames burnt her floors. Caller does not know the estimated property damages. Caller feels that this oven is a fire hazard and should be recalled.

    It was the wiring box in bottom of stove (in the back) that caught fire and end of cord connecting. It is a Frigidaire stove and Frigidaire should be made aware of the situation. Thank You.

    Frigidaire oven door glass shattered. We were warming a vegetable dish at 250F on New Year’s Eve 2022 when the oven door glass suddenly exploded. The dish had been in the oven for 5-10 minutes and the outer glass on the door just exploded without warning. Three of us along with two dogs were in the kitchen when the glass exploded. Shattered glass went everywhere. Almost a week later we are still finding and stepping on pieces. Serious harm could have occurred to us or our pets had one of us been in front of the oven at the time (which is often the case when cooking).     On Thanksgiving afternoon (11/24/22) - our frigidaire gallery oven glass exploded (the outside glass). My brother-in-law opened the door to put a dish inside, and in the down position, the outside glass exploded all over the floor. It was not bumped nor did it have a defect/crack. No injuries occurred.

    The product, in the report: Range Oven door handle has come off this before

    Caller stated that the handle of the oven is unstable and fell off 3 times, the company came out and repaired it, but it still keeps falling off. Caller stated that most recently it fell off and injured her right leg. She stated that it was a minor laceration but that she is diabetic which should not be taken lightly and will be visiting her physician. She stated that she currently waiting for the company to come out and repair it again.

    Caller stated that she would like the manufacturer to replace this range since this incident has been occurring approximately 2 months after installation.

    Fridgidaire gallery Range model# LGEF3045KFH using oven with regular use, blue enamel paint flaking on top and sides. This flaw has been noted for blue enameled interior over the internet and said to flake paint chips into food being cooked in oven. This is unsafe to ingest because the enamel is a made of glass. This is an unsafe product for health reasons. How can these companies get away with selling a product that causes glass enamel flakes to fall into food that people consume and not compensate the consumer with at least a replacement of the flawed product?

    What happened that made you want to report? I woke up and found that my oven door’s outer glass had completely shattered for seemingly no reason. There was nothing that could have knocked, fell into, or bumped it to cause it to break. It was not on and had not been used for a few days either. We do have a dog, but she was locked in her crate all night and would not have been able to mess with it. There was a pile of glass in front of the oven, but bits of glass managed to spread throughout our entire kitchen, up to 8 feet away from the oven. I have seen news articles about this defect that cited CPSC and wanted to report it. What type of product(s) were being used?     I left my house for a 20 minute walk. When I left the stove was off. When I returned, all the smoke alarms were going off in the house. All four burners on the stove were on full blast. I had to press the off button several times to get them to go off. My water kettle was on the stove and it is black with charring. I think the house would have burned down if I have returned. I looked online and this has happened to at least one other person with the same model oven.

    Frigidaire oven model# FFEF3054TSF only 3 1/2 years old. We bought the house brand new on 01.29.2019. Oven on keep warm 170 degrees. Oven outer door exploded and shattered into a millions pieces for no apparent reason. Glass shot out a good 4-5 feet from the stove. Fortunately no one was in the kitchen at the time or someone would have been hurt by the chards of glass.

    (02/26/2022) The submitter has a safety concern about a potential burn hazard. The submitter stated that the handle falls off of the oven door because the grooves in the screws are stripped. When the handle falls off, the oven door separates and fall apart. If any one is trying to open the door of a hot oven when this happens, they could be seriously burned.

    My wife was about to use auto clean function on Frigidaire oven, she read the manual said to turn on vent fan, this oven did not have..and said to open window...also said to be careful of birds sensitive to fumes.. so she started the clean process in little bit carbon monoxide alarm went off.. wife looked for our dog..it was hiding out in bathroom which never does. She brought him outside..and she stayed out too.(winter here)... later in evening dogs eyes were squinting. Next morning he was blind. Took to vets confirmed the affected eyes..and provided some treatment which did nothing for him.Condition after this day was very weak, had to put him down..sad day for us..

    The consumer indicates that her oven has turned itself on three times while the cooktop once. The only way to turn off the oven range is to switch off its circuit breaker however after twenty minutes of doing this the consumer always receives an error code displays on the unit.

    The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. Three representative have been dispatched to inspect the oven range and thrice has its panel been replaced. The last time the control panel was replaced on 12/23/2021 the consumer was informed that if it malfunctioned again that she would receive a replacement.

    The consumer states that the cooktop is used twice daily whereas the oven once per day. The consumer is unsure if she will keep her oven range for at least the next thirty days.
