    We were awakened at 4:00 AM on Aug 7th by our dining room fire alarm. Went to kitchen to find a huge fire on the stove with flames reaching the ceiling and starting to migrate to the opposite side of the kitchen. I put the fire out with a DC extinguisher and called 911. When the firemen went in, they said the 2 left burners on the stove were roaring hot but that all knobs were in the OFF position. The firemen could not shut off the burners so they ripped the stove out of the cabinets and unplugged it.

    The glass on our 2023 Frigidaire oven door unexpectedly shattered all by itself! I was in another room when I heard a loud CRASH-SHATTER, I followed the sound to the kitchen where I found shattered glass all over the floor and hanging from the oven door. The stove had not been used that day at all. When I was finally able to connect with Frigidaire’s customer service (they DO NOT make it easy), I asked for a free door replacement. Their rep told me they could not do that, and gave me a 20% discount on the glass replacement part and free shipping. It will take 7-10 days to arrive, during which time I can only use the stove top to cook for our family. Since this happened, I have learned that the door glass shattering spontaneously on Frigidaire stoves is not a rare occurrence. Our stove is only three years old! I want a new stove-how can I trust that the same thing, or some other faulty part, won’t happen again? What if myself or our grandchildren had been near the oven when it happened? What if I had been cooking when it happened? Serious harm could have happened!

    We smell gas when using Frigidaire oven. Then fridgidaire issued recall on igniter which we had repaired but still smelled gas. We then contacted Frigidaire again telling them we still smelled gas and the repair tech told us to run exhaust fan when using oven. We continue to smell gas and had gas company come out and they detected high carbon monoxide reading during ignition which indicates a burning issue. Recall repair was not successful.

    I have a Frigidaire LFEF3054TFR. During normal baking at approximately 400 degrees, the outer oven door glass shattered with a loud bang. The inner glass remained in tact. There was no impact as no one was in the kitchen at the time. However, there was less than one minute remaining for that baking cycle meaning my 13 year old was within one minute of standing directly in front of the oven door when it exploded. No injuries occurred by pure luck.

I no longer live in this apartment, so I don’t have any additional information to provide, but I can refer you to [REDACTED] Apartments in Tulsa, OK for further details.

    The glass oven door on a Frigidaire oven spontaneously shattered while I was in the next room. I was the only person at home and I had just returned from out-of-town, so I hadn’t used the oven. I reported it to the apartment office of the apartment I was living in at the time and they were able to replace it. I just saw a news report on this issue and it recommended reporting the issue at this web site, so I’m reporting it a few years after the incident.

    The consumer was using the oven for normal cooking when the inner glass panel of the oven door suddenly shattered. The glass exploded outward, scattering broken glass throughout the kitchen area. No impact or misuse was reported prior to the incident.’

    The consumer reported extensive glass debris on the floor when she opened the oven door and surrounding surfaces, creating a safety hazard. She also wants the company to provide any kind of solution such as store credit, fix the glass door. etc

    While cooking dinner with a Frigidaire oven, model FFEF3054TSR series no. VF11985012, at 420 degree for about 20-25 minutes into the cook the outer glass shatters. No injuries. I was momentarily petrified at the sound of glass shattering as I was not facing the oven but in the kitchen when it burst.

    The glass in my Range Oven by Frigidaire Serial Number VF13704624 and Model Number LFEF3054TFR just exploded and blew up and got all over my kitchen. After cleaning glass up I called the company and informed the representative what happened and he looked up my information and said since I purchased it 5 years ago and that I did not purchase the warranty from the store I bought it at that he could get me a representative out to my house for a very small price. I then proceeded to inform him that this has happened to several others and a known issue and should be a safety recall.

    The outer glass panel of the oven door suddenly shattered/exploded while the appliance was not in use. The oven had last been used approximately two days prior to the incident. At the time of the explosion, the oven was in a cold state and had not been touched, opened, or otherwise disturbed. The glass failed spontaneously, breaking into numerous small fragments and dispersing outward into the surrounding kitchen area. No cooking or heating process was active at the time.

    The Frigidaire oven range model is in recall causing delaying ignition of oven leaking gas is the same issue happening to the serial number I have but my serial number is not in list. So this defect may include other units. When turning on oven smelling gas and reported to utility company which came in and confirmed leakage from appliance and red tagged the appliance. This unit was installed as part of new build install by Lennar homes and the model is No.FCRG3062AS. This is out of warranty but they agreed to repair as good will and am waiting on the repair as its issue similar to recall. Its especially important other serial number just out of warranty or earlier units be checked for issues as well for similar safety issues that are not in recall

    My husband had placed a frozen pizza in the oven to cook and walked away. Less than 5 minutes later we heard a loud boom and heard glass. I saw broken glass all over our kitchen floor and the remainder of the glass in the door was shattered. I immediately turned off the oven and removed the two dish towels hanging on the handle. Then I took a picture. Then we removed the pizza. I cleaned the glass off the floor and waited for the oven to cool to remove most of the rest of the glass. Fortunately no one, nor pets were injured. The Frigidaire stove is about 4 years old, outer glass suddenly explode across out kitchen floor today March 5, 2026 at about noon. Luckily no one was in the room when it happened. There were no cracks or damage that was seen before this incident. I called Frigidaire to notify them of the issue. I talked to Joe. I asked if there was a recall notice for this model, he stated he wasn’t aware for this model but was for other models. I asked if there were complaints for this issue for this model and he had the same answer. I asked what the solution was for glass repair and he was polite and respectful and said I would have to buy the glass full price at $140 since it was out of warranty. I asked if there were any guarantees that the new glass wouldn’t explode once installed and he said there is a 30 day warranty. I told him I wouldn’t be purchasing new glass for the oven and that I would write a negative review. The oven came new with the house when I bought the house. I refuse to replace the glass unless I know it wont be a safety issue. My husband and I are going to purchase new oven, not Frigidaire that hasn’t had safety issues.

    The knobs on this stove turn on when bumped. This results in the stove burner of being on without anyone knowing about it. This has happened multiple times. The first time was when I moved into the house and a mover set a box on the stove. The box caught on fire. The second time was when something fell off my refrigerator and bounced over on top of the stove. It must have hit the knob. And it turned the burner on and caught something on fire. Ive had incidents since then. This last incident., the knob turned and caught a [REDACTED] container on fire that was next to the stove, but was close enough. And it burned my finger. There is no safety on these knobs and they turn with no pressure. Anybody bumping up, leaning against, or any item touching the stove, turns the knobs. Its a severe safety hazard and its going to result in a house fire. I am going to have to replace the stove.

    The outer glass on my Frigidaire oven shattered. I baked a pizza at 425*F. When the pizza was finished cooking I turned the oven off and served the pizza to my child (8). 30-40 minutes later there was loud POP and then the sound of glass shattering. I went into the kitchen and saw the oven door had shattered everywhere in my kitchen. No injuries. I searched online for the replacement parts and came across many reviews for the exact same thing happening, some even when the oven was off and hadn’t been used in hours. I moved into my home in May 2023 and had all new Frigidaire kitchen appliances included with the home. Frigidaire customer service rep, “[REDACTED]” told me there is no recall related to this product and “the repair costs will be out of your pocket as the unit is no longer under warranty” and quoted me over $300 for a technician to come install a new glass. When I mentioned the multiple reviews for the same issues, I was offered a 20% off discount. There is no recall for this product but there should be, very unsafe. Thankful my son was not in the kitchen at the time it shattered.

    I was not cooking, the oven was turned off, and there were no impacts, no external heat sources, and no one touched the door prior to the incident.

    This dangerous hazard has occurred many times. There are many [REDACTED] reports by TV journalist. Children have been reported to be close to this explosion at eye level just moments before the explosion. This is a known (well known) hazard. Glass in oven doors has been common for years.     The product, in the report: The product is a stove/oven (range). It is a stainless steel, glass top range with 5 burners on top. It is a 5.3 cubic foot oven.

    The front glass on my Frigidaire oven exploded and shattered all over my kitchen. No one was injured by the exploding glass, as no one was in the kitchen at the time. The oven was set to preheat and had not yet reached 350 degrees. Had someone been in the kitchen at the time, there could have been injuries to the person’s legs. I had been standing in front of the oven just 2 minutes before, had I not stepped away, the glass would have impacted me. A small child, like my 6 year old, could have been more severely injured had she been in there at the time.

    My Frigidaire oven’s exterior door glass exploded without reason. I was standing in front of it at the time but fortunately only hads a few knicks from the glass. The oven was purchased from Lowe’s Home Improvement December 2019. Upon contacting Frigidaire, I was told my oven was not under warranty. According to a [REDACTED] search there have been 900 reports since 2018 to [REDACTED] and Frigidaire is aware of the problem yet they have not warned customers that this could happen nor have they issued a recall. Frigidaire offered to send a repair tech to assess the situation to which I would have to pay for the service and the glass plus repair cost. After a heated discussion with an associate and then a supervisor via 60 minute a phone call , I am told a replacement glass will be delivered and will be replaced at no charge.

    We built our new home in 2022. Our home builders purchased Fridgidaire Stove model # FFEH3054USE with serial number VF23500551 on 9/9/2022. We noticed immediately the front functioning knobs that are within arms reach distance of toddlers would turn on if you barely bumped the knob. The knobs would often turn on if your body bumped against them. Our neighbor also built a house & the builders bought the same appliances for her. She unknowingly bumped into a knob & it turned on her stove. She had a small fire & had to replace cabinets. After this fire event, I became more concerned & reported this to Frigidaire customer service with no response to my safety concerns. I was told our warranty was only 1 year & this stove was not recalled. Since that time, my same stove had a red light on stating element is on but the element was not turned on & knobs were all turned to off position. We were concerned the stove would catch on fire & had to unplug it because the light remained on continuously. I phoned Fridgidaire customer service to report our issue & safety concern. They said it was not a recalled product. They didnt tell me how to report it to get it placed on the recall list, & the representatives said I would be charged if a service person came from Fridgidaire to diagnose the issue. Even though it was a call due to safety concerns, they were not concerned. I have since purchased just yesterday a brand new stove to replace the Fridgidaire brand stove. I did not buy Fridgidaire brand nor will I in the future since they dont stand by their product or show concern for safety of their product if you own it fir more than a year. It was concerning to me that the company doesnt care to address an obvious safety issue that I had already previously reported. I didnt want my new house to burn down & so, we bought a new stove that we shouldnt have had to purchase in 2 years from getting a new stove. Our safety was most important to us even if we had to purchase a new stove. I don’t want someone elses house to burn or someone to die in a house fire because this safety issue didn’t get reported by the Fridgidaire company even though I reported it to them myself more than once. So, I was advised by BBB to file a report.
