Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Electric slid in range
While baking a dish in the oven at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes. A F3 code displayed on the control panel. She attempted to power the oven in the off position by using the control knob, but the unit did not power off.
The F3 disappeared from the control panel and the heating element glowed bright red. She pulled the unit from the wall and unplugged it from the wall and then powered the circuit breaker in the off position. She attempted to duplicate the failure but was not able to.
The appliance is currently plugged into the wall outlet and the circuit breaker is powered on. She is considering having the unit repaired after speaking with the firm.

The product, in the report: Kenmore electric stove
The CPSC recall 09-333 should be expanded to include our Kenmore electric stove, model 790.9401 2600, purchased new from Sears in late 2006. As with the smoothtop stoves in the recall, two of this model’s four heating elements turn themselves all the way up to MAX after about five minutes regardless of how low you set the dial, which renders them useless for cooking (they burn everything), as well as a potential fire hazard. This has been a problem since a year or two into our ownership.

The product, in the report: Sears Kenmore Electric Range - Model 790.9656.9602, S/N VF73538269
Kenmore Electric Range - Model Number 790.9656.9602, S/N VF73538269 The stove top came on without the switch being on and caused a fire. I called Sears and they refused to fix it as they claim my serial number is not covered by the recall: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09333.html
Please keep in mind this is the exact same problem as described in the recall, but not a listed model and serial number. This is a huge fire/safety hazard as the stove top is hot with the switch off.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Self-Cleaning Electric Range
While fixing dinner today 5/10/11, I was using my Kenmore Self-Cleaning Electric Range model #665.9502210, Ser#RL1110117. I used the oven, set at 350. After 10 minutes I noted the food was burning, removed it, and turned the oven off. I prepared other items, we had dinner, then prepared to leave for soccer practice. My 9 yr old daughter brushed against the front door of the range and told me it was hot. The entire stove was blister hot to the touch and the top broiler element inside the oven was glowing red. The oven was off and had been for an hour. I wrapped wet towels around the oven door handle and pulled the device away from the wall. The sides and back of the range were also blister hot. I unplugged the power and the oven took nearly 3 hours to cool down. I tried to plug it back in and with the oven still off, the elements was glowing red hot again in under 5 minutes. I unplugged the device. Had not my daughter been burned, I have no doubt that we would have experienced a house fire had we gone on to soccer practice.
I checked for recalls or other related incidents on the web and noted that this model electric range was not included on any current recall. SEARS has a serious problem here and needs to expand the product recall to include all electric ranges.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite Electric Range
Consumer wanted to report that her Kenmore Elite electric range doesnt turn on to the desired setting on low it exceeds itself to high. The unit is a smooth top range and this applies to the left side of the stove. The product is a stove and oven. The right front burner only works sometimes as it occasionally wont turn on. The left burners will turn off but they wont turn to anything but high immediately when turn on even if she sets the burner at low or medium. She called the manufacturer in April of 2009 because the oven wouldn’t work for baking. The manufacturer told her that they would fix it at her expense. They replaced the motherboard control that controlled the baking element for the oven.
She has noticed that Sears has similar models that were recalled for similar issues with the heating element. Later that year, the manufacturer came to fix the same issue with the stove’s malfunctioning baking feature. Her father who is repairman in 2010 serviced the unit for problem with oven’s front touch panel so that she may turn the oven on. In March of 2010 the issue with her left burner’s began. In this instance she chose not to call the manufacturer or the retailer. Presently, the stove and oven are not charred or discolored. No damage has spread to the structure of her home. Her father provided with several numbers to call and after speaking to the manufacturer regarding similar recalled units, she felt it was imperative to report this issue to the CPSC.

Consumer didnot seek medical attention, she administered first aid.
Consumer eventually unplugged the stove to prevent further damages.

The product, in the report: Electric Range
Electric Range was not in use but callers noticed that the center burner was getting red then black then red again indicating that it was in use, off then in use again. Caller checked the electronic control panel on front of unit and there were no codes warning that there was a hot burner at any time. He assured that the sensa cook button was not on, then he turned the element on then off again but this did not solve the problem either. They followed the same steps a few times after which the caller turned the on button to “high” then off again. Once the button was turned to high then off the control panel showed HE to indicate hot burner, went off and hasn’t come back on again. Caller turned his circuit breaker off. Caller contacted retailer he purchased the electric range from on 04/11/2011, spoke with rep who told him that the range was not on recall but they could send a tech out if he made an appointment but at his expense. He explained what the range was doing, that it is a safety hazard, that ranges recalled on release# 09-333 are recalled for the same thing & that repair should be at their expense. Called manufacturer he was led to believe was the producer of this range, they identified the actual manufacturer. He called retailer customer service 04/11/2011, spoke with [redacted] who told him that she couldn’t tell him who the manufacturer is, it is not recalled. The model is made by the same manufacturer as cuted in recall notice 09-333, where other models were cited as having the same malfunction. Subsequently, the retailer made a number of service calls and replaced the same circuit board as was replaced to remedy the issue under recall notice 09-333. The issue has not reocurred since the repairs have been made. He would like this model recalled for the safety of all in the public.
