The product, in the report: Smooth top range
This caller is reporting her smooth top electric range oven that she purchased from retailer in Colorado July 23, 2010.
She reported this range to the retailer 2012 - 2013 and repairs were made via warranty replacing the entire top control panel.
She reported it to CPSC via incident report# 20151106-9C948-1529006 because the controls began readjusting the heat on the burners and a control valve.
She is reporting this range again because July 6th, 2016 she had heated popcorn chicken at 325 degrees convection bake for 15 minutes then turned the oven off, went to another room however approximately 25 minutes later she heard a very loud sound that did sound like glass was included.
She at first ran to the garage thinking that her husband may have fallen with something glass involved, however when she turned around she saw that all three levels of glass in her oven door had exploded sending glass pieces and slivers as near as remaining in the framing to at least five feet across the kitchen floor.
She asked her husband to come inside to help clean the kitchen up and take pictures which she will submit via email to attach to this report.
There are no injuries being reported.
She has not contacted the manufacturer but does intend to contact them.

The product, in the report: Kenmore glasstop stand alone stove model 790 929 030 13
On 3/27/16 we were cooking a ham in our Kenmore glass top stove model: 790 929 030 13. We were using the oven at 325 and at some point changed the temp up to 375 to accommodate some potatoes. The ham was cooking for several hours. We took out the ham and were cutting it up and the potatoes were still cooking. We heard a pop/bang, and looked over and saw that the inner pane of the 3 pane oven door had shattered. When we opened the oven door to take out the potatoes glass fell on to the floor and in to the oven and the bottom oven drawer. No one was touching the oven when this occurred.

The product, in the report: Kenmore stainless steel range Model 79092803010
I have a Kenmore range model #79092803010 that I purchased on 2010. I opened the oven door and the glass exploded all over the kitchen floor. Fortunately I was wearing slippers or it would have cut my feet. The oven was cold and hadn’t been used for 2 days. This is so dangerous! What if my small grandsons would have been there? This seems to be a problem with hundreds of other people experiencing the same thing. There should be a recall on this product!!

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite Range Model No. 790.9803380 Serial No. 85007846
Hello
I have a Kenmore Elite Range Model No. 790.9803380 Serial No. 85007846 that I purchased in January 2009.
The oven liner has warped and the racks continually fall down when you put any food/weight on the rack.
This is a seriously dangerous problem. My family can be burned when the racks suddenly collapse and the scalding food items spill everywhere.
I have seen on line this is a very common problem with these ovens.
Please tell me what can be done to correct this problem and protect my family.
Please call me,
[REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Stainless Steel Kenmore Elite Dual Fuel Convection Oven.
I was cooking fish in my Kenmore Elite oven and the interior glass exploded and cracked completely. I was cooking the fish at 400 degrees. I called Sears about this and ordered a new piece of glass from them. I asked Sears if this is common and could this happen again. They replied, yes it has happened and it could happen if you use your oven too much. I asked them is a technician could come out to make sure the oven is safe to use and they replied yes but would have to charge me the service call because there is not warranty on the oven. Sears won’t stand behind their product. I, myself or someone else in my family could have gotten seriously injured from this. If the glass chips/slivers would have fallen onto our food and we ate the food not knowing we could have consumed glass. Also, the g\exterior glass could have exploded too and flown everywhere. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed. I’m nervous now to use my oven.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite Oven Combination Model number 790.4890 purchased at Sears in West Hartford, CT
We purchased a Kenmore Elite Oven combo model number 790.4890 in 2011. For the past 6 months, the oven racks fall off the sides when something is placed in the oven. We’ve changed the racks around and tried different fixes but they keep falling. About a month ago, I had a casserole in the oven and went to check on it and the rack just fell and I was burned on my arm.
We have contacted numerous customer service people at Sears and no one will help us. They will send a repair person, but at a cost for us. I think because this is a safety hazard, we should not be charged. Since this has happened, we looked up this model on the internet and there have been numerous complaints regarding this identical issue.
I am asking for an investigation and help with this issue before I am burned again.

Our Kenmore Elite oven door shattered out of the blue on its own. The oven was not in use and the glass door had not been damaged in any way. We do not use the door to close or slide the shelves. We do not rest items on our oven door. It just shattered without warning. Luckily, it was not in use at the time.

I have Kenmore slide in range that was purchased just over five years ago. On Christmas day 2015 while in operation there was a loud “pop”, a visual flash arc and the unit shut down, throwing the breakers. I took the unit apart and found the connector between the main wiring harness and the wiring harness serving the control panel to be melted and burnt. The surrounding components where blackened and burned. This is the main connector from the terminal strip serving power to the entire unit.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite Double Oven
We own a Kenmore Elite oven model # 790.98029802 purchased 2010 that the racks in the bottom oven no longer fit properly. If we try to cook anything, the racks fall causing the contents to spill in the oven which has caused burns and a mess. We have found that many other people have the same problem. Others have reported that it is caused over a period of time because the walls of the oven have expanded from the heat. Ovens should be built to withstand the heat as the heat of an oven is necessary to cook. We have been told that the metal used in the walls of the oven was inferior and cannot withstand high temperatures without expanding. Sears claims this is not a defect and will not do anything to correct the problem. The fix (putting new walls in the interior of the oven) would cost more than the oven is worth and Sears will not guarantee that it would not happen again. We believe this is an obvious dangerous defect and the oven needs to be recalled. If this were a car it would have been recalled long ago.

For the third time our Kenmore Elite Oven has had the outer glass blow out across the kitchen floor when it was either on or recently had been used. The first time this occurred was in March of 2014, then again in February 2015 and now yesterday December 2015. The glass shatters across the floor with no warning, we have attempted to contact Kenmore directly but they remove our posts from Facebook and send us a phone number where we sit on hold for hours. Children could very easily be harmed by this flying glass. It has only been luck that a child has not been in the kitchen when this happened. Although my 10 year old son was nearby last night when it happened for the 3rd time.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite wall oven
This incident pertains to our Kenmore Elite model 790.48173000 double wall ovens, date of manufacture December 2010. During the Flex Clean cycle, the middle sheet of safety glass in the door of the lower oven shattered. I heard it go though I did not realize it was the door glass shattering until the oven had cycled off and fully cooled and I opened the door to wipe down the interior. The affected door’s interior and exterior glass is still intact and the middle sheet, though thoroughly shattered, is, for the most part, still in place. The lower oven is very rarely used. In preparation for the upcoming holidays, the upper oven had been Flex Cleaned without incident the day before. The lower oven itself had been cleaned at least once previously without a problem. Given the other reports I’ve read regarding Kenmore oven glass doors literally exploding, our incident was relatively minor: still very, very unsettling , though.

This evening as I was making dinner in my kenmore oven the front door of the oven exploded as I went to open the door. Glass blew up in my face and all over the kitchen. I immediately called Sears to get the run around about someone coming out and diagnosing the situation. The situation is that the door exploded and should be fixed. This seems to be a safety issue that is not being taken seriously. Lucky enough glass did not get in my eyes or injure anyone in the family. As everyone else has reported Sears is unwilling to do anything about the situation except have you pay for their faultiness. Unreal!

The product, in the report: Kenmore Stove/ oven (range)
I used the self cleaning mode on my Kenmore oven and set the time for 2 hours. This is the minimum amount of time I could choose, the Max was 4 hours. After about 1hour and 30 minutes, I noticed that the top of my oven door was melting. I pushed the stop button, the “door locked” button blinked and I was able to open the door and stop the clean cycle. The oven got so hot, it melted the plastic on the top of the door which ran down the tin on the inside of the oven and burnt the gasket that seals the oven when it is closed. I am afraid of what would have happened if I had not noticed it melting. I called Sears and Kenmore and was transferred numerous times but neither of them were any help. They want to charge me a service call fee and have a technician come look at it. I do not feel I should have to pay a fee when their product is defective and unsafe. I want to te report this so it can be put in to see if it should be recalled. I checked and it is not recalled yet. I would hate for someone else to have this happen to them. I am afraid to use my oven because of the plastic that has melted into the inside. Also, if we replace the parts and clean the oven again, I am afraid the issue will not be address properly and it will happen again. Maybe next time, the whole thing may catch fire.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Range
We own a Kenmore Range, model #790.92803010 purchased 16 months ago from Sears. Yesterday while my wife was baking the outer layer of glass on the oven door exploded. Wife & family thought it was a gun going off. Oven door was closed & for no known reason (no impact or movement at the time & a regular 350 degrees cooking temp) door exploded showering the kitchen & my wife, daughter & children in glass! My wife called me in a panic, she had cuts to her legs from glass around the ankles (lucky it was a cooler day & she was wearing longer pants). She was terrified & upset, we have younger children in the house down to a 2 year old & it is very lucky that he or any of our other children were not in front of the range at the time of the incident!
We are now very concerned regarding the future safety of this product if we have it repaired. After this happened we researched the Kenmore product online & found numerous incidents of the glass exploding, shattering or breaking! What concerns us & shocks us more is that there has never been a safety recall issued on this product & Sears just wants to sell an extended warranty on the product to get more money & are not concerned regarding the safety of this product!
What is our best course of action regarding this issue? Obviously I am concerned for my families safety if I have the product repaired but on the same note cannot afford to run out & spend $1000 on a replacement range! We want a replacement Range from Kenmore that doesn’t have this issue!

The product, in the report: Glass top range.
This incident has happened at least 15 times over the course of the last year. Two large front burners will increase to high temperature even when set on another temperature. These same two burners will not turn off when we turn the knob off. We try turning it off and on back and forth and they will not turn off. The only remedy is to cut power via the circuit breaker. Even then sometimes when we turn the circuit breaker back on the elements are still on. So we have to wait a while sometimes. This has happened numerous times and we have burned food and nearly ruined some of our pots and pans. It is a VERY serious fire hazard that jeopardizes my household. Now I am forced to fix it due to the item being reported on a home inspection and the buyers not wanting to inherit a seriously defective stove. Kenmore/Sears should recall and fix this item for free as many people have the same issue.

Kenmore oven racks are falling off the oven when in use, anything heavier than an empty plate will make rack collapse resulting in splattered food and burns. When looking at the oven racks it may seem that the racks are not wide enough to fit on the shelves but with closer inspection the wall seemed to be bowed out. There are many postings of this issue online.
This has been the issue since first purchased in 2007-2008.

I finally decided to look online and see if anyone else is having this problem and try to figure out a way to fix it. I have found this is a big problem with the Kenmore elite ovens and I have read numerous forums with a lot of people having the same problem. This is a very serious safety problem and from reading online is seems Sears does NOT want to set up and take care of this problem. I read in one forums this is a place to report the problem so I thought I would add my situation to your site. Thank you for your time and help.

The product, in the report: Digital-Panel Range with Oven
The consumer indicates that he is not the original owner of the range, having purchased it approximately on 09/15/2014. He estimates the original owners used the unit for ten years.
06/23/2015 - The consumer was using the range’s oven and had it set to BAKE at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Approximately ten minutes later, the consumer noticed that the oven had switched its setting to BROIL after the range had beeped and displayed error code E2F3 (the consumer searched online for what the code meant: overheat/ over-temp). The consumer tried changing the setting back to BAKE and it would not change. The consumer proceeded to turn off the oven and the display turned off. It was not until about five minutes later that he noticed that the oven had never shut off as it was still extremely hot and the upper elements were still bright red. At this point, the consumer tripped the circuit breaker supplying energy to the range.
The consumer’s food was burnt.
The consumer states that he did not notice any damage to the range in general or the oven specifically, most likely because he was able to catch the problem in time. The consumer states that he has not tried turning the unit back on. The consumer states that this is the first time he has had any issues with the range or its oven.
06/24/2015 - The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained what happened with his unit. He was informed that the unit was not under warranty and so any repairs would have to be paid in full by the consumer. The consumer was also informed that his unit is not included in any recall.
The consumer believes this product poses a safety hazard.

The product, in the report: Kenmore (Sears) free-standing oven/range with 4 burners and double glass on oven door.
I purchased my Kenmore free-standing stove in Dec. 2013. Two days ago, the inner glass on the oven door actually EXPLODED with a huge noise. I was baking at 350 degrees and did not do anything to bump, hit, or scratch the glass.
It will cost a lot to replace this glass but I believe the glass was defective to have exploded with no provocation. Sears will not cover replacement as the warranty is one-year only.
This is a dangerous situation and the only way to get attention is when someone gets hurt and sues the maker of these stoves. Luckily the only thing hurt was the batch of cookies.

I would not expect this to happen in a range that is 20 years old. it is obviously a defect in manufacturing, materials, quality and or craftsmanship. I called SEARS, and they said that they have had several such complaints, but that it is not covered under any warranty or guarantee, and that I would have to call the manufacturer. Could someone please explain to me why SEARS wont stand behind their “commitment to quality and customer satisfaction”? For me, to pay nearly $1,000.00 for a range that is going to possibly injure or worse, KILL someone, and not be backed for quality standards is LUDACRIS, and IRRESPONSIBLE. I will be reporting this to Consumer Affairs, News agencies and feeds, and any other social media outlet that I can. SEARS, KENMORE, CUSTOMER SERVICE, ITS ALL ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY THEY CAN MAKE, AND SNOW THE CONSUMER INTO BUYING EXTENDED WARRANTIES WHICH, BY THE WAY, DON’T GUARANTEE ANYTHING! I am absolutely flabbergasted at how the woman at customer service for SEARS said “Oh well, I guess you’ll have to call the manufacturer, or get a new range”
Customer satisfaction,hmmph

The product, in the report: White Oven Range Kenmore Oven Door Glass
My husband was tightening the loose screws on the oven door. The door exploded all over the kitchen floor and into the foyer. Having made contact with Kenmore they are willing to send out a tech for $170+tx with the glass and labor charges of $160 or I can purchase a 1 year warranty for 298 dollars that would cover all expenses. Next call was to try to talk to a supervisor. The person was very pleasant throughout the conversation but would have to send me to customer solutions because this was a recall product. Customer Solutions check all her info and it is not a recall product. After some research on the internet it appears this is not a new problem and the glass that is being used for various products is not safe. Most of the complaints are for the Kenmore oven glass door and I’m having difficulty understanding since most of the complaint started in 2009 why this product is still being used. There are 299 complaints from 2009 to 2015. What does it take to get a recall on a product.

At approximately 11:30pm on September 9, 2014, a loud pop and explosion was heard in the kitchen. It was discovered that the front glass in our oven had exploded, Kenmore model No. 790.97453804, serial No. VF00853619. Large pieces hung to door and small shards were all over the kitchen floor. The oven was NOT on at the time. Earlier in the evening at approximately 6:30, oven was on at 350 for approximately 30 minutes, and was turned off. The product was purchased March 12, 2010. Very concerned that even if this is repaired it could happen again at any time with no warning. I have children who could have been injured and I am scared to use this oven.

I was cooking on my smooth top range when I began hearing sizzling coming from the back of the range. Next sparks started coming up with small flames and then loud sizzles and pops and then thick black smoke was billowing out the back. At this time the breaker was tripped and the fire was out. No serious damage was done to my house. Fortunately we had a backsplash behind the stove so the wall was protected. The thick black smoke came off of the wall for the most part. We have not used the appliance since the incident occurred.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite smooth-top stove/slide-in oven (white)
Several months ago I noticed that the racks in my Kenmore Elite slide-in oven were suddenly too short. I have to adjust them very precariously to get them to stay up. They have fallen on multiple occasions, sometimes spilling food. I checked on line, and within minutes found several sites with the same complaints for this brand of oven, some resulting in burns. Many had already contacted Sears and Frigidaire (manufacturer), only to get a run-around. I, likewise, emailed Sears Member Services and was told to contact a repairman, who could come at a cost of $75, to diagnose the problem. I had read that someone else had done this and was told the walls were made of poor, non-heat-resistant metal, and that it would cost $400 to repair. The model no. is 79046704600, serial no. NF63729330. It was purchased at the local Sears at the Redcliff Mall in St. George, UT. I don’t remember what year--more than 5. When we make a major purchase like this, however, we would expect it to last for many years. This is clearly a manufacturing defect. This wide-spread problem is a safety hazard.

I burned my hand on our stove.
We turned off the burner on our glass top stove after we finished using it. Then I came back after eating and while cleaning up the kitchen I touched the stove that I had turned off 20 minutes earlier and burned myself. I immediately checked to make sure it was off and all burners were off. I tried turning it on and off a few times to see if the knob was stuck. Finally I shut off the stove at the breaker. I let it sit off over night and switched the breaker back on the next morning and even though all knobs were off the stove came back on.

I have been smelling a burning plastic/wiring smell from my Kemore oven. I do not have anything on the services that heat and the smell is not from inside the oven but with it shut. I know this smell and it seems to be the internals of the oven. I am now afraid to use the oven for worry of a fire. After a lot of research I have concluded that this is a common occurrence with these ovens. The fumes from the oven caused nausea and headache for almost my whole family. We had to air the house out and now cannot use the oven.

The product, in the report: Kenmore oven “Ultra Bake Self-Cleaning Super Capacity” Model # 95022101
My glass top Kenmore oven, Model #95022101, has gone haywire and is a serious fire hazard. I came home from a meeting today to discover the kitchen filled with smoke as if the self-cleaning feature had been turned on, but it had not. In fact, the power was off. The oven door was not locked. I finally had to pull it out from the wall and unplug the whole unit.
After it cooled down I tried plugging it back in, and even tho I kept punching the off button, the heating elements inside turned on.
This apparently has happened to a number of people with the Kenmore glass top models labeled “Ultra Bake Self-cleaning Super Capacity” and I think this entire line should be recalled. I shudder to think what may have happened had I not come home in time. My kitchen counters on both sides were blazing hot.
I will not be purchasing any more Kenmore appliances because I am concerned for my family’s safety. I have 5 children, and I cannot have my oven turning on spontaneously like that.

The product, in the report: white, Kenmore wall oven
The Kenmore wall oven I purchased from Sears has a serious and potentially dangerous issue. Once the oven heats up the oven walls expand and the racks fall through. I have nearly been burned on several occasions, not to mention the mess of broken bake-ware and spilled food! I’ve contacted Kenmore and Sears several times and neither of them have even attempted to correct the problem. I’m frustrated and don’t know where to turn for help with this matter! Will you please advise?
Thank You, [REDACTED]

I have a Kenmore oven, model #790.72903013. Today I used the self cleaning feature. I followed the instruction carefully for the self cleaning feature. All was well, until just after the cleaning cycle stopped, my daughter said something made a big “pop” sound in the oven. When I investigated, I noticed the glass on the oven door was shattered. It appears to be a 3 pane door. The outer most, and inner most glass are somewhat intact, the the inside glass is shattered. I was cleaning the outside of the oven after this happened and noticed tiny shards of glass on the floor in front of the oven, and in the corner of the handle to the warming drawer. I am about to contact Sears and see what they can/will do for me.

On 11/24/2013 at approximately 5:40pm, the glass door on my Kenmore (790-70403012 series) stove/oven range suddenly shattered and popped. I was holding my 3 month old infant in my arms while standing in the kitchen doorway when I heard the shattering followed by what sounded like a gun shot. It was the inner glass layer between the two outer glass layers that shattered and glass shards fell from the bottom of the door onto the floor. I was preheating the oven at 350 degrees. The unit was purchased on 01/09/2013... not quite a year of use.

The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite #790.46719600 (smooth top stove/oven)
We have a Kenmore Elite, smooth cooktop oven. One of the burners turns on HIGH automatically without touching to turn on the burner. We also can’t seem to turn it off when it automatically turns on. This is a big safety hazard and we have to leave the circuit breaker off to ensure it does not turn on when nobody is at home.
We notice that there were recalls of other Frigidare/Kenmore stoves/ovens in 2009, but it appears to be the same issue. I have also seen numerous consumers reporting similar issues with the smooth top Kenmore cooktops.
Has there been any other reports on Kenmore Elite model #790.46719600 ?

After 7 years of light use, this stove decided to have an electrical fire behind the back panel. The wires going into the unit on the power cord melted causing the electricity to spark up under our control panel and burnt other parts. Would cost a minimum of $465 to fix and perhaps about $800. What a piece of junk. Sears nor Kenmore would stand behind their product. They just kept repeating how I didn’t buy a warranty. What a joke! No oven should catch on fire from faulty wiring, extended warranty or not. Sears has lost my business for life. This is a safety hazard that should be recalled. Sears doesn’t want to take accountability for their products even when completely defective and dangerous.

Hurt, care not known Made May 15, 2013, sent to the company May 23, 2013, published by CPSC Jun 7, 2013
The product, in the report: Kenmore Elite Double oven stove manufacture date is 2009, and the model is 790.98023800
When pulling oven rack outward with a full-size baked lasagna, the oven walls bowed outward causing the rack to fall from one side, dumping the dish and contents into the oven. This is the second time this has happened and upon closer inspection, I noticed the oven wall are constructed of rather thin, flexible metal. Apparently any dish with much weight causes the oven walls to bow out wider than the racks. We are fortunate no one was severely burned by this incident. I am 57 and have owned/used many ovens in my lifetime, some more than 20 years old, and have never experienced such an occurrence. Upon researching this, it appears to be a common problem with certain Kenmore ovens. I do not understand why there has been no recall or Sears doesn’t at least stand by their product reputation by fixing or replacing such an obvious design flaw. Every incident I have read about online, Sears expects the consumer to pay for “repairs.” There is at least one other report on this site of the same issue and in what appears to be an auto generated message from Sears, they state they take these reports seriously and provide an 800 number to call. I called the number and an automated message gave me 7 options to choose from. None related to customer service or concerns unless you were calling about an existing repair call. No option existed to speak with a customer “care” representative.
Oh, and another hazard with the same oven, as I was wiping down the oven door one day, my finger slid along an edge of the door frame and an un-smoothed edge sliced through my finger like a razor blade!

I told her to turn the oven off, and quickly ran in to the kitchen. The oven was off, but the baking element was glowing white hot, sparking like an arc welder, and radiating and intense heat. I could not get the fire to go out. I pulled the oven from the wall and unplugged it, and only then did the white flame dull to orange, and eventually go out. Upon searching the internet for a replacement element I stumbled on dozens of pages of consumer complaint pages detailing this exact issue with Kenmore ovens. The descriptions of the problem is the same for everyone that posted. Sears refuses to acknowledge any problem with the product. While our incident did not result in any specific injury to persons, nor property damage, the potential for both is extreme in this case. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible since it is happening and obviously defective and dangerous parts are to blame. The potential for loss of life is extreme.

We came home to find that the oven glass door had exploded. I use the word “exploded” because glass flew everywhere...some pieces as far as 10-12 feet away. There were millions of shattered pieces of glasses. The oven was not on.

The product, in the report: Double Wall Oven
The consumer says that the interior oven rack fall to the bottom of the oven. The wall of the ovens are bowed out and is a manufacturer’s defect. On a couple of occasions she has had a roast fall to the bottom of the oven and causing grease to spill inside the unit posing a serious situation.
She contacted a Sears technician who referred her to the retailer and said it is a manufacturer’s defect. The manufacturer refers her back to the retailer. The retailer has a specific department called the Blue Ribbon Group which she keeps getting sent back to. The tech said it would cost $900 to have it fixed.
She says she has noticed the same thing happening to other consumers online. The consumers who report it online all keep saying that the retailer tells them that no one else has ever had this problem which is the the same thing that she was told. Blue ribbon group offered no help.

The product, in the report: Ceramic cooktop range, electronic control panel
We purchased a Kenmore ceramic cooktop range with electronic control panel, model 790.99122405 serial number VF53448033, in Oct of 2005. Evident very quickly, the front rim of the cooktop would get very hot from the oven heat. It gets hot enough that it could burn a child. Several attempts have been made by Sears service to correct this problem to no avail. Secondly, the first time we used the oven self-cleaning cycle, the porcelain on the bottom of the oven interior cracked spider web like, and it has begun to rust. Finally, about a month ago, after using the left rear burner, when it was turned off the burner kept cycling on and off at max heat. Cycling the on/off switch had no effect. Had to turn the circuit breaker off to the range. When the breaker was turned back on the condition was still there. After turning the breaker off again, I raised the cooktop and disconnected the wire to the burner. We cook a lot so this is a real inconvenience. I feel that this could happen with any of the other burners at any time and this could be a real fire hazard. After reading the problems associated with models 99012/13/14 and 19 that had a recall, I feel that this and associated models should be in the same category.

The product, in the report: Double Wall oven
The caller stated that the double oven bottom rack warped and does not hold which causes the rack to fall whenever it used. She had received a minor burn to her finger while attempting to bake with the bottom rack. This problem started to develop a year after purchase.
She has had 2 service calls, the second call (2/2013) technician had confirmed that there was a defect which would be a cost to her, however, the firm is not willing to assist in fixing the problem which she feels is a safety hazard.
The manufacturer was contacted about a month ago and she was advised that she could purchase another unit or repair it at her own expense. She feels that this unit is unsafe and the manufacturer should be willing to repair it at their expense.
