The product, in the report: Silver and black Samsung gas stove.NX58K3310S
I was not using the product at the time of occurrence. I have a Samsung stove that I do not know make and model of at the moment. I had made eggs earlier in the day. As I took a pot of the stove not touching the knobs or burners. A burner that did not have the pot on it decided to start. It kept trying to turn on and I could hear the clicking as if it was trying to turn on for gas stove. All the knobs were off as I checked. I did not know how to turn off so I called 911 and the fire dept came and turned the gas off to the stove. Im just thankful I was awake and not sleeping when it decided to turn on. I cannot emphasize enough that I did not touch the burner that came on.

No one hurt Made Feb 9, 2024, sent to the company Jun 13, 2024, published by CPSC Jun 28, 2024
The product, in the report: gas range with oven
The oven was on the low setting and cooked for 2-1/2 hours. The consumer heard a noise in the oven and found that some of the liquid in the turkey pan spilled into the bottom of the oven and this is what caught fire.
As soon as she saw the flames, she turned the oven off and removed her turkey. Eventually the fire died out on its own.
The consumer is concerned that a flame of fire could quickly rise up from the bottom of the oven’s burner and she may not be able to put out the fire.
The consumer contacted the manufacturer and a technician was sent out. The technician contacted the manufacturer to get instructions on how to remove the part. Once he did, he saw spillage in the bottom area and advised the consumer that she should get someone to clean it up.
The consumer noted that her daughter has the same range/oven and had a similar incident. There were no injuries.

The product, in the report: Gas slide in range with five burners
The necks on the knobs of Samsung gas range have frayed/cracked over time making it impossible to operate the burners. This is a safety hazards especially when one cannot turn the gas burner off. This happened during normal daily use when cooing meals. The knobs have a sleave/neck that slides onto a metal tongue from the burner assembly. No injuries occurred but not being able to turn off the burner can lead to fire/potential loss of life. Samsung used poor quality material in the knob design.

The product, in the report: Samsung NX60A6751SS - 30-in 5 Burners 3.4-cu ft / 2.5-cu ft Self-cleaning Air Fry Convection Oven Freestanding Smart Natural Gas Double Oven Gas Range (Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel)
I purchased a Samsung double oven model:NX60A6751SS over the summer. This particular oven has a removable piece inside that allows it to be used as a double oven or single oven if the piece is removed. The first time I tried using it, the food I had in the top oven immediately started to burn. Luckily I smelled it right away and removed it. I assumed I had done something wrong. The next time I used it, I preheated the oven and placed a dish inside. Not long after, I was in another room and smelled smoke. There was a fire inside my oven! Thank God I smelled it. I got it put out before it spread. After weeks and weeks of going through trouble-shooting and such, I realized that they use a broiler to heat the top oven. Even if you put the oven on “bake” it uses a broiler which burns and causes fire to anything you place inside. Samsung sends repair people out to fix it but they cannot do anything because that is the design of the oven. After multiple small fires, I can now only use the tiny bottom portion of the oven or I risk the lives of my family. This product should not ever have been placed on the market. I have personally read hundreds of reviews online of the same exact story as mine.

The product, in the report: Samsung Range Model #NX58M6630SG/AA
Our Samsung Range model # NX58M6630SG/AA started acting erratically, the control board, flashing different numbers, no codes than went into self cleaning mode. It would not turn off, had to unplug it. In my research I found many have had this problem and replaced the control board to have it start over again. Some have almost started fires. Am having to replace this appliance.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range 6.0 cu ft. Smart Slide-in Gas Range with Flex Duo™, Smart Dial & Air Fry in Black Stainless Steel model nx60t8751sg/aa
The Samsung model nx60t8751sg/aa gas range stove I had for a month. On 8/15/23 my carbon monoxide detectors on my 1st floor started going off while I was cooking. Then on the 2nd floor the detector went off and the basement. The fire department had came in and stated there were very high levels of carbon monoxide in my home. In the kitchen and one bedroom downstairs were the worst (which is a child’s bedroom). The gas company came and said that the stove was the cause of high levels of carbon monoxide coming into my home. After testing it with a carbon Monoxide reader. He red tagged the stove and shut off my gas. We had to be checked by EMT’s and they stated the signs that we will have due to the levels of carbon monoxide that was in our ho/me. On 8/16/23 I called Samsung to let them know about this issue. They stated they had to have a tech come to check the item. They cannot go by the fire department or gas company. They go by what their service tech states. Samsung had me send a photo of the stove and the reg tag from the gas company in text message. I set up the appointment with the tech they came in on 8/17/23. When the tech got to my house, I explained the issue and showed him the red tag from the gas company, and he took a picture of the tag. Then he plugged the oven in and turned on the gas. I asked him what he was doing, and he stated he was checking the oven. I asked him right away if he had a carbon monoxide reader. He stated no. Then I asked him how you are going to check for carbon monoxide levels/. You are turning an oven one and have no meter and you are putting this toxic gas that you cannot smell, taste and can kill you in 5 minutes also. That you are putting my family’s lives in jeopardy once again. The tech got mad and stated then if you don’t want me to check it I won’t. If you had a tester to test for this, then I have no problem with it being looked at but you are not putting carbon monoxide in my house with no meter to read the levels. What are you going to wait for my detectors to go off? He just stared at me and didn’t say anything. I stated to him I will call the Fire department since they have a meter to check carbon monoxide levels. He stated there is no need for them to come in. He said he will write up his report and send it to Samsung. To call them tomorrow morning. I called them on 8/18/23. When speaking with them they stated the tech stated there was no defect with the item. They stated this had to be escalated to the higher up management team and I will be contacted in 24-48 hours. Just change out the stove since this is a life-or-death situation. This is playing with a family’s life. They said that it is not their decision that it has to go higher up, and they will be in contact with me in 24-48 hours. I had called on 8/21/23 due to no call from the company on this matter. They set up a new claim number because they closed out the other claim. 8/23/23 called Samsung again due to no one contacting me. They stated the company for the tech was supposed to call to set an appointment again. I wanted a different company to come customer service set up another company to come in. They came in and had no carbon monoxide reader so they done nothing. The lady from the higher up team management assigned it to the same company again and stated they were the ones that had to come in. 8/31/23 emailed from the higher up management stating they will not grant an exchange. On 9/1/23 had an appointment from the service center and no show. Finally got a hold of service center 9/8/23 service tech came in with carbon monoxide reader. Same guy as the first time. He done his reading and stated there was something going on. Called Samsung 9/11/23 to see what is going on later in the evening. They stated the tech had to come back out because he needed to call Tech support while there and the tool battery was dying. 9/13/2023 the tech came back in and had to call the tech center and ran his test with them on [REDACTED] and also had him take pictures of my carbon monoxide detectors. 9/15/23 called Samsung and they stated there is no notes from the tech. Called 9/18/23 they stated the officer of the president was supposed to call. Then called me back and stated he made a mistake. It is supposed to be specialty claims handling this. They will be in contact with me. 9/20/23 I received a text and stated the tech stated there is no issue and the claim was closed. I called Samsung and they opened another claim for a tech to come out again. They stated the tech notes stated there was no issue to have a second opinion. I told them that I do not want the same tech I want another place. Now I must wait 24-48 hours again to be contacted for an appointment. I have been doing nothing but getting a run around with something that is very serious.

The product, in the report: gas range with oven
(11/08/2017) The range was delivered to the consumer’s home.
Issues with this range began in 2021, however, the unit corrected itself.
October 2022, the control panel went dead.
A repairman came out 10/11/2022; he replaced the panel but its failed again in 2023.
A repairman came 07/09/2023; replaced panel again but before he arrived home it had stopped working.
The repairman returned 07/25/2023, however, this time he replaced a panel with time, and other parts like the oven control, etc., this also did not work.
Caller spoke with Samsung 07/18/2023 at which time she was informed that they were checking with another department. They advised her that since the technician acquired the panel from a different supply source, Samsung is not responsible. She states that the panel had to come from Samsung at one point even if not directly by repairman.
The consumer has experienced difficulties with her oven for years. She has contacted the manufacture numerous times. They provided her a remedy by repairing her oven but she had to pay for prior repairs. Afterwards, she kept having the same problem.
One of the technicians was from [REDACTED] where [REDACTED] was in charge. The consumer said they could provide more information.
(8/23/2023) My difficulties with the Samsung Gas Range started in 2021. That I can remember. Also a burner knob broke after the first year (2019). As I think back. Thank you.

The product, in the report: Standard Samsung Gas Range NX60A6311SS/AA
Purchased a new Samsung Gas Range, Model #NX60A6311SS/AA. Installed range and two moths later noticed wobble. opened ‘warming drawer’ to adjust the leveling feet, and closed the drawer. The sheet metal the warming drawer is made of is so sharp, that the opening and closing motion of the drawer CUT the power cord, causing sparks and smoke. Fortunatly the breaker in the panel popped at this point.

The product, in the report: Gas range purchased new maybe two years ago.
I have a sauce pan that has tipped several times on my stove top due to “holes” in the grating. In addition, food prep bowls have also tipped when placed near these holes.
I have had a pan tip on two different occasions and a mixing bowl tip while pouring hot liquids into. The grids are too sparse in several areas of the top as I have photographed. If a pot containing hot liquids or oils tips forward, someone will experience 3rd degree burns possibly over half of the front of their body.
UPDATED ON 2/17/2023: [Samsung has updated their range tops and have fixed this problem. However, they do not have any fixes or replacement grids for this type of unit. So it looks like they know about the problem but have designed new grids so that they are NOT compatible with the version I have.
Thus I hope we can get a recall!!!]
UPDATED ON 3/13/2023: [Yesterday, the 8th of March, 2023, I had another spill on my stove from a sauce pot that slipped through the front gap of my stove. I was moving the pot off a burner to cool. Even after filing the report, you’d think I wouldn’t make this mistake but I’ve never encountered a stove with such a large gap where a pot can tip. This makes at least the 4th time I have had a spill related to the defective design of this cook top. A week or two ago I was contacted as a follow-up by Samsung to see if I wanted to purchase a new electric stove. I asked them to repair my cook top or send me to a repair shop that could modify the grate. No response.]

The 82-year old, consumer fell in the kitchen and the back of his head landed against the glass oven door. The glass shattered and he sustained injuries to his head. His wife helped clean him up and removed the small pieces of glass from his body, while he was in the shower. As a result of his fall, the consumer sustained lacerations to his head, arms and legs.
A friend came over to help clean up the glass and it took the friend more than 2 hours, to clean up the kitchen.
1/16/2023: He called the manufacturer and tried to report the matter to them. The consumer claims that the rep. (name unknown) asked him what did he want done, but did not offer any assistance. The rep. told the consumer that he caused the incident, so there was nothing they could do for him. The consumer also asked how he should replace the glass, but the rep did not respond.
He slipped on a vinyl floor, which was installed in 2018.
Date: 01-30-230 Updated 2-12-2023
The 82-year old consumer fell backwards in the kitchen, and my backside hit the floor first, which absorbed most of the force of the fall. Then the back of my head hit the glass oven door. The glass burst into thousands of small sharp glass shards. I was covered with glass from head to toe. The glass shards extended out from the front of the stove in an eight foot radius on the floor, furniture and me.
I was afraid to open my eyes because of all the glass shard on my face that could get into my eyes. My wife helped clean me up and removed the small pieces of glass that were all over me from my head, face and bod while I was in the shower. Piece of glass were in my shoes and clothing. As a result of my fall I sustained lacerations to my head, arms and legs. A friend came over to help clean up the glass and it took more than two hours to clean up the kitchen.
The manufacturers rep. that I spoke to said her name was [REDACTED]. I explained to her that I was not looking for compensation for my injuries but that had this happened to a child playing the injuries could have been much worse, even catastrophic. She did not respond. The ticket number I was given for the report I made to Samsung is [REDACTED]. I contacted a company ([REDACTED]), they said the glass is no longer being manufactured.

The product, in the report: Chef’s Collection 30” Gas slide in Range.
On December 12th, I turned my Samsung Chef Collection gas stove to Hi Broil and gave it time to heat up. I opened the stove and had a momentary question “Why is this not hot?” when I was hit in the face with a fireball. My hair caught on fire, and half an eyebrow burned off. I was able to grab at and smother the fire in my hair. My dip nails separated from my real nails. The shirt I was wearing was singed. The pants caught a hair cinder and had a small hole. I contacted 1-800- Samsung and they sent out a tech who worked with thier specialty claims group and took the stove apart and tested each part while on a video conference with an engineer. Although there is evidence of the fireball on the stove, they were unable to find a specific part to blame.
I have gone around and around with the specialty claims group, and the results keep changing. Phone and text reps have told me that the stove is unrepairable and that Samsung “would take responsibility for the unit.” I asked for clarificaiton, and was told that Samsung would replace or refund for the defective unit. I was even directed to the Exchange and Refunds Team.
Then the specialty claims team tried to close out the case, saying that there was nothing wrong and I would receive a way to claim for damages. I objected and asked that it be reviewed again, with the standard of the person closing the claim to stand behind it and be to use this exact stove in their home. They reviewed it again and decided that the stove suddenly has physical damage and Samsung is not willing to do anything. I asked for a details of the physical damage and images. There response said there were cracks and sent pictures with areas marked. I sent back close up of those areas, that do not show any cracks. In case Samsung was trying to say that the seam between the interior of the stove and the stainless steel casing was the damage, I also incldued pictures of similar Samsung brand stoves from Samsung’s website showing the same team.
They now refuse to talk to me at all just repeateing that they found physical damage and they are not responsible. I have tried to ask if the stove is safe to use, or not and they wil not respond to that question.

I purchased a Samsung gas range 06/17/2022 and when using the oven for the 2nd time it caught fire. It was shooting flames up the inside of the oven. After cleaning off as much of the burnt debris and putting it back together he turned it on again and it caught fire a second time.

These letters should NOT be glued on since the heat & steam of the stove & oven cause these letters to fall off. The letters should be engraved. This is an extremely dangerous choking hazard.

I seldom use the oven, but when I did, I became very lightheaded and nearly passed out a few times. After my son smelled something different in the kitchen while visiting, we called the gas company to see if there was a leak. They determined no gas leak, but did identify a carbon monoxide leak. I called he manufacturer and was told the warranty was good for only one year. This oven is dangerous! I must be recalled and replaced w/a different range, the oven of which does not leak carbon monoxide, a killer gas.

The product, in the report: it is a Samsung gas range
I turned on the oven of my Samsung gas range, not yet 3 years old, and went into another room. shortly after my husband came in, went into the kitchen to find smoke pouring out from the oven. We opened the oven. there was nothing inside but a clean cookie sheet. We turned off the oven but it continued to burn inappropriately with a yellow flame we could see in the side vents. It put specs of soot on the cookie sheet. We turned off the propane tank outside. We also turned off the gas connection to the stove. It continued to burn. It sent a bad smell and some smoke through the house. We watched until there was no more flame. I contacted Samsung at least 4 times speaking to 8 people in two departments all offering a different solution with no follow through on their part.

Samsung gas range oven appears to get “stuck” at 175 degrees, or May revert to another temperature while oven is on. If you try to change temperature, it will also revert back to 175 degrees on the display. I have no idea what the oven temperature is while this is happening. I have contacted Samsung, and they have seen less than helpful There are 39pages of reports of this happening in various SAMSUNG range models on the Samsung Website. My Model is NX58K3310SS/AA and was purchased approx 18 months ago.

I would like to report a manufacturing defect affecting the control knobs of Samsung gas ranges. The knobs are plastic and break easily which makes very hard to ensure that the burner is shut completely off. All five of my knobs have broken and only two are usable. The poor design and barely functional knobs are dangerous. I contacted Samsung and they are unwilling to offer a replacement

The product, in the report: slide in Gas range
We have a Samsung gas range, model NX58M9420S. The knobs that control the burners extend forward at an angle. When you bump into the or slide by, they rotate and turn on the gas. This happens to us a lot. Sometimes we are alerted by the igniter, and sometimes by the smell of gas. Anyway, this is not safe. I suggest a recall which would involve replacing the knobs with some of a different shape, not susceptible to accidentally engaging gas flow.

The product, in the report: Samsung Slide in gas range Model NX60T8111SS/AA
I purchased a Samsung range which started to fault to C24 error code and shutdown while cooking. Samsung replaced the original range (after 3 repair attempts) and the replacement range is exhibiting the same problem, It gives a C24 error code when broiling. When this error code pops up it shuts the range down completely because the temperature of the oven is rising at a higher than normal rate. This high heat warning leads me to believe this range is at risk of fire. I have contacted Samsung again on the new range C24 error code and they sent a repair tech out to service the replacement range. He found no issue as he was unable to cause the error code. It takes a few minutes to appear and I think the tech did not wait long enough for the error code to occur. I wrote to the Office of the President of Samsung to inform him of the issue which I have had with two identical model ranges - both the original and the replacement provided by Samsung. [REDACTED} from the Office of the President of Samsung office recited the error code mention in the owners manual, indicating I am causing the issue by blocking the vent with cookware. This is his email response: Our technician is the certified professional and unfortunately, they found nothing wrong with the GAS RANGE. Also, they have giving you instructions on how to use the unit properly. I’ve also shared the C-24 error codes and steps to take to avoid the error code. There is nothing more I can assist you with.
The owners manual also states “If these solutions do not solve the problem, contact a local Samsung service center...” I immediately took a video of the range heating up with NO blockage at or near the vent and it faulting into C24 error with complete shut down after receiving his response. I have to turn the circuit breaker off and on to get the range to function again. I supplied the video link to and Samsung and Samsung has failed to view the video despite my repeated email requests to do so. I have a new range, still covered under warranty, which Samsung refuses to repair, refund or replace at this time and I am very concerned it is a fire risk. Certainly it is not performing as designed as I should be able to cook my meal without the range faulting and shutting down. I do believe my family is at risk of being harmed by this product.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range NX58F5500SS stainless steel 5 burner, purchased new in 2005.
Using gas range Samsung NX58F5500SS a gas light smell of gas in kitchen when oven was turned on. Seemed to be a delay in temperature being reached. Happened row times over a week, so we called gas company. They came and said faulty gas regulator 8/19/21, and turned off the gas to stove
Update on Samsung: Samsung is refusing to settle this matter in a timely fashion. The stove was shut off by gas company on 8/17/21, per attached label. It remains off as of today, Aug 25, after Samsung said they would send a repair person in late September, to cover parts and labor.
It was Aug 21 last conversation with Samsung, when they stated they will call back “later” to discuss a “pro-rated” amount, and removal of the defective range.
Resolution requested: the only reasonable resolution is for Samsung to replace the range with a new one, or refund the full purchase price in today’s value, for us to replace the range. There is no pro-rated amount that is acceptable. This product is both dangerous and defective.
Report update 9/17 - Samsung agreed to make a full refund of purchase price and they are to pick up the defective range to settle my claim. However after a week, Samsung has not contacted me to pick up the defective range.

The consumer has a safety concern in reference to the product. The issue started around September of 2020. When the back burners are used for cooking, the vapors from the pots are affecting the control panel. This is causing the oven to come on automatically.
The consumer contacted the firm in September while the product was still under warranty. A technician was sent out who changed the panel.
The same thing happened again a month later. The firm sent another technician out who didn’t do anything. The technician advised the consumer that the range problem was not repairable.
The consumer contacted the firm again, but they wanted to send the same person back out.
For reference, the consumer provided two ticket numbers that were given to him by Samsung- [REDACTED] and [REDACTED].

Samsung gas oven model NX58M6850SG/AA (purchased from Costco Oct. 2017) front burner knobs are cracking at the input shaft female opening thus becoming very loose. This is due in part to users attempting to turn the knobs before depressing them from a locked position to open the gas valves and also due to fragile casting of the knob component materials. My concern is that should there be an oven or top burner fire a knob could fracture and render the shut off valve useless! I have photos of the fractured valves and this has been reported to Samsung support on 30 Nov. 2020 who refused an out-of-warranty claim. This is the second failure of this oven with the first being the convection fan motor bearings and heating element interference repair under warranty. Also the fourth failure of one of 4 appliances in the suite. I’m very concerned with the safety of this gas-fired appliance!

Two dangerous issues, both by design, with our fairly new Samsung Gas Range/Oven. One, The oven releases excessive heat and C02 into the room to the point where I need to open windows when in use to get rid of both the excessive heat and improve the air quality. A Service Technician reported that the issue is by design and not changeable. We have always had a Gas Range and never had to open windows to avoid a headache. You dare not take a nap while baking anything. Two, the rapid boil technology burner allows a boil over to put the fire out but continue to allow gas into the room. I have watched it happen more than once. The first time it caught me off guard when I took the dog outside for a few minutes only to come back in to a room full of gas.

The oven on my Samsung Gas Range (nx58m6850s) keeps starting on its own. Sometimes on bake, sometimes on broil. First happened a few days ago at 4:30AM - I heard the beeping in the kitchen while sleeping. I turned it off with the control panel, but then it started up again a few minutes later. I unplugged it, but it happens again each time I have plugged it back in. The control panel is otherwise not working if I try to set the oven myself.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range with oven Model NX58M6630SS
There is a sleeve that fits on the stem, which extends from the range. This sleeve is part of the control knob used to regulate the burner temperature.
The stem that extends out of the stove is made of steel and the control knob has a casting on it, that secures it to the stem.
The casting developed cracks sometime in the past and eventually broke apart. This allowed the control knob to fall off, which presents a safety hazard controlling the temperature.
The consumer is concerned that other knobs could also break, while someone is cooking and present a control/fire hazard. The consumer is unsure if the other controls have similar damage.
Additionally, this range has 3 cooking grates on top, which are cast iron. All of the grates have rubber feet which fit underneath the grates. The rubber feet have broken off (possibly due to heat). Therefore, the grates are not as secure as they could be. This happened approximately 3 – 4 months ago.
The consumer contacted the mfr. about his concerns. They charge $139.00 for replacement grates and $75 per knob and $10 shipping ($85 total), to replace each knob. He did not order replacement parts, because he considers these safety issues and believes that the firm should address them.
The consumer read the firm’s warranty and that they consider the knobs a cosmetic issue. He contacted the dealer and was told this issue was not covered under the extended warranty. It’s also not covered under the factory warranty. Lastly, he checked on-line and found that many other people have experienced this same problem with their stoves.

I am a fire investigator for the fire department where I work and was called to the scene of a fire. Upon arrival I was informed that the fire started due to the self-cleaning feature on the Samsung convection oven the customer had only purchased five months prior. The customer stated that she started the self-cleaning feature and went upstairs when she heard an alarm and went back down stairs to investigate. She discovered a fire in the oven. She attempted to open the door to extinguish the fire, but thankfully the locking feature was engaged and she could not open the door. The fire started to escape the oven up the back of the stove where it caught everything around the area on fire. The customer’s kitchen was destroyed due to the amount of fire damage which was helped through her unknowing ventilation efforts to expel smoke she anticipated would be present from the self-cleaning feature. She explained that she always opened all the windows when she used the self-cleaning feature to her previous oven before purchasing this one and thought nothing of it when she decided to use the feature on her new Samsung oven.

Samsung model # NX58H9500WS/AA has it’s oven controls in front of the range in. between the nobs, when even the clothing touches the screen it turns on and any of the features will turn like self clean or pre heat etc, if not noticed the oven door locks itself and whatever is inside any plastic wooden things will burn. Will not be able to open the door nor cancel the feature in some selections.
It is such a fire hazard which happened in my house today 7/6/2020. The kitchen area was all clouded with black smoke and fire alarm went off, couldn’t cancel the self clean option and the oven got too hot burning every nob. We had to call 911 they came and used crowbar to force open the oven to let the oven cool.
It is such a bad design. If they had the touch screen at least like a cell phone touch screen like it activates only when the skin touches would have been better.

The product, in the report: Samsung Gas Oven/range Model NX58H5600SS*
Samsung gas range model NX58H5600SS purchased from Lowes in August 2018. Upon installing item we immediately noticed how hot the control panel would get. Too hot to touch. It would be hot enough to cause pain after less than a second...Called a tech out. He said it was normal. Took his word for it. Also noticed at that time how easily and hazardous the nobs were accidentally turned on. For the next few months, was very leary of the heat coming off the back control panel. Then in May of 2020, we broiled steaks in the oven. This is what happened... 1. The back panel got so hot it smelled like burning wire. 2. When I went to turn the oven off I burnt my finger, the controls on the back panel were extremely hot to the touch. I had to use a cloth over my finger to push the buttons. 3. It took several attempts before the controls responded and the oven shut off. 4. We applied a quality heat sensor gun to the external back panel and the SURFACE temperature OF THE CONTROL PANEL read 363° Ferenheight 5. The oven proceeded to turn itself back on, I turned it off, it came on again. This happened several times over the next several days. FORTUNATELY IT WOULD BEEP EVERY TIME IT DID AND I AM A HOMEBODY OR I WOULDNT HAVE KNOW IT WAS ON. I finally had to lock the oven to keep it from turning on. 6. I cautiously unlocked the oven 3 weeks later (after not being able to use it at all) and the ONLY control that would work was the off/lock button. We have contacted Samsung multiple times and gotten multiple excuses or the run around.. supposedly in FL they have no technicians.. This stove is a safety hazard for multiple reasons
***F I R E risk to whatever wall it backs up to.
***B U R N rIsK to both adults and KIDS (because some kids do like to help cook).
***GAS LEAK risk . Gas can cause a person...or pets to become severely I’ll. (bad knobs)
***E X P L O S I O N risk (slight bump of a knob a little too far without ignition of evaporator...gas leak... Explosion = injury, loss of home, or fatality) ... This stove NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE IT COSTS LIVES.

Injuries occurred while installing a Samsung Gas Range model NX58R4311SS/AA, which was purchased new from Lowes in Arlington, Texas. The metal air vents located on the top rear of the range have not been deburred or filed smooth and are razor sharp. My installer and myself inadvertently touched these vent edges and suffered lacerations on our fingers.
The vents have to be regularly cleaned in the course of using the range, and present a continuing hazard to anyone contacting the metal edges. A child could easily lose a finger if they happened to touch the vents.
I have notified Samsung and reported this hazard to them, but have not heard back. The report number is [REDACTED].

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range with center grill.
The burners on the range: *One burner is not off when the knob is in the off position/gas escapes *Only 3/4 of the grill lights, and gas escapes from the remaining portion of the grill *Another burner does not light unless a match is placed near it.. * A screw would not come out the repairman drilled and drilled, then banged and banged the unit loudly with a hammer. He called and they told him to buy more things and come back. *Repairman returned and hammered and hammered until a hole appeared in the surface of the range. My concerns are: All of the problems basically still remain, but in addition I now have a range top that needs to be replaced. I am truly afraid of the gas range as it already leaked gas and the grill partially lights. Now the unit has sustained numerous very hard blows which makes me doubt the safety of the unit even more. I am upset, because I had not had this unit very long before this problem began to manifest itself. I am concerned that Samsung has not offered to replace this gas range, knowing the explosive nature of items that rely on gas to function.

I bought a Samson Gas Oven on 11/17/19 . On Febuary 24th 2020 it caught on fire ! I was pre heating the oven when i could see smoke and i opened the oven door and flames were big coming from the bottom of the stove . i quickly turned it off but the fire kept blazing, I called 911 then it went out before 911 answered so i hung up. Of course they called me back and i told them what happened and that i did not need the firemen to come. I called home depot first thats who in bought it from. they told me my Warrenty was with Samsong and to call them so i did. The assured me they would take care of this. They sent a man to come check it out on 2/27/20 and he said there were pecans in the bottom of the oven that caught fire and that the warrenty will not cover this. My issue is that this stove has 2 vents that are 2 to 3 inches wide , one on each side of the oven floor and the length of the oven . If it is that easy for food to fall in and catch fire , how could thisnproduct be safe. I live in a mobile home and i could have easily blown my house up. Thank God this did not happen. I cant even sell the stove to anybody in good faith knowing and seeing what i saw. I dont know what i am going to do . But i know i cant use this stove anymore, I really believe it needs to be re called

The consumer indicates that her oven has turned on twice by itself. Every time this happens, the consumer has to unplug the unit in order for it to turn off.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative she spoke with informed her they would honor her warranty even though it was expired for a month. A Service Technician replaced the oven range’s circuit board and its touch panel on 11/18/2019. The 11/18/19 parts replacement service call did not fix. Unit turned on by itself again. Technitian returned on 11/25/19; replaced all electronic controls. While here; he observed display had multiple malfunctions again.. Suspected RF interference.
We were advised to unplug unit (safety concerns) until Samsung determined resolution.
To date, we are awaiting call from Samsung.

The consumer states that the cooktop is used approximately twice weekly whereas the oven is used twice yearly.
The consumer plans on keeping her unit for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Samsung Gas Oven/Range
My wife and I went to Home Depot here in the [REDACTED], Georgia area and purchased a new Samsung double gas oven in October 2019. Shortly after the item was delivered and installed in our kitchen we noticed a couple of issues that we reported immediately (same day as delivery) to Samsung using the hotline provided by Samsung. We finally got Samsung to get a technician to come to our residence and inspect our oven however it was clear to us that while the technician was performing his checks the person he was speaking to was brow beating him in order to convince him that the issues he was observing and measuring were “normal and acceptable” for this oven. It became immediately clear to us that Samsung wasn’t going to admit that it’s product had both a cooking issue but a potentially dangerous burn or fire potential as well. According to the technician, Samsung allows a heat range of +/- 30 degrees to the actual temperature you set on the oven through the display panel, we feel this is unacceptable and causes food to either get charred or undercooked. The second item is the tremendous heat escaping from the oven and heating up the rear of the stove top underneath the electrical display panel and measured at 244 degrees! This can potentially cause a fire or severe burn and will obviously cause the electrical panel to experience issues at some point. We asked the Samsung customer service representative to please refund our purchase and remove the oven as we no longer want this potentially dangerous oven in our home and so far Samsung is denying that this is an issue. Please help us with this issue as Samsung isn’t going to stand behind it’s flawed product and do the right thing. There are documented issues from past customers who purchased this oven dating back to 2017 and I’m rather surprised that nobody’s written to you earlier on this matter. The oven is sold as item number NX58M50SS or NX58M6850SS/AA and our serial number is 0ETV7DDM800266V with the description of Gas Oven/Range. My fiancée was cooking chili on the stove last night. She turned the knob to adjust the right front burner, and the knob post got stuck in the “on” position. It was stuck so badly, I had to call the fire department and the firemen couldn’t get it to budge. It appears there is a manufacturing or design defect concerning the knob post. The firemen ultimately broke the knob post with pliers, trying to turn the stove off, and ended up cutting off the gas to my house. I have disconnected the device at the appliance valve now.

I have a year old Samsung gas range that fires off the burners while just brushing against it. It happens at least a couple times a month with regular kitchen use. One time if fired up while we had a drop cloth on it during painting. Today it went off while a kitchen towel was on the stove. Most times the stove has nothing on it. Sometimes a pot is on it. I’m afraid someone not familiar with the stove will set it off and not know they ignited the flame. When the drop cloth and when pots are on the stove I only know it was ignited because of the snapping noise used to light the flame. Someone not familiar with the stove could leave the stove lit causing extreme danger. It is a design flaw and not something broken or askew. Samsung wanted to fix the problem by sending me new knobs. That’s like giving me only a door knob for a door that won’t latch shut.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range, model NX58H5600, although this appears to be common across their product line.
My Samsung gas range, model NX58H5600, had a knob break off during use, requiring the use of another knob, removed from its regular position to shut off the flame. Upon further inspection, 4 of the 5 knobs had the same damage, the knobs’ plastic mating to the steel range posts had cracked completely through. We were fortunate that we discovered the other breaks, as we could have easily found ourselves unable to shut off lit burners, or with the gas on but unlit with the knobs indicating that the burner was off. Samsung is aware of this problem, it has been amply discussed on their own product support forums, and they have dismissed this obvious safety issue as a “cosmetic problem”. This is a hazard that could easily have been prevented or remedied, and the list cost of the knobs approaches the cost if purchasing the stove. Samsung appears to be permitting this safety hazard to continue to avoid bad press and generate revenue from equally shoddy replacement parts.

The product, in the report: SamSung Gas Range
we purchased a gas Samsung range nx58j77505, nx58k78505 ...one of those models. The on knob’s are on the front of the range. The knobs turn the gas on with the slightest movement near the stove. If I am reaching above the stove to get to the microwave, that action and my potential leaning across the stove turns on the gas.
I found a website where there are multiple complaints about this product. This is a huge safety concern.
[REDACTED]
Please look into this, as I believe it is not if, but when something horrible will happen with one of these stoves. Thank goodness, there haven’t been any victims in my family as yet. But, we cannot live with this hazard, and I certainly would never sell it to anyone,

The product, in the report: Freestanding, Samsung Gas Range, Model number NX58M6630S, Serial Number 0f8p7ddk40z46e
On February 13, the panel that controls oven functions on my Samsung Gas Range, which we have owned since August 1, 2018, Model number NX58M6630S, Serial Number 0f8p7ddk40z46e, ceased to function causing me to be unable to shut off the 425 degree oven. This same control panel had been replaced on or about November 29, 2018 for a similar occurrence. Any time I cook something on the range burners and use the oven at the same time, the control panel malfunctions. One time this happened, various oven functions were randomly turned on and off until the panel cooled down.
Because I am unable to reliably cancel oven functions and because oven functions randomly begin, I am very afraid of this gas range causing a fire. I believe that Samsung should remove this gas range from being sold until this manufacturing defect is resolved

I have a Samsung Gas Range that when I put the Range in the self cleaning cycle the HEAT coming out from under the control panel is so severe, it causes the control panel to melt. I had this Gas Range repaired two times in six month. I had Samsung come out to take a look at this problem, and they say there is no problem. The service men that came out all said for me NOT to use the self cleaning cycle, but they all will NOT put it in writing. This is a manufacturers defect that they will NOT admit

The product, in the report: Oven Range
The consumer indicates that as soon as he purchased his oven range he noticed that the oven would not heat up properly as everything he cooks in it takes almost twice the time to cook as suggested. The consumer also notes that when one leans against its knobs, the unit turns on unbeknownst to the consumer until he starts smelling gas in his home.
08/14/2018 - The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. The representative he spoke to informed him that there was nothing they could do for him free of charge as his unit was out of warranty. The consumer also notes that he had contacted the Manufacturer prior to this day and they never provided assistance.
The consumer states that the cooktop is used approximately two to three times per day whereas the oven is used two to three times per week.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Gas range with oven
Gas oven has over heated multiple times, beginning in August 2017, September 2017, January 2018.....with the last incident on May 12, 2018. Repair tech took infared readings after one of the repairs. Oven was at 350 degrees and the front user panel registered 254 degrees with the back reading 260. Samsung has indicated this is caused by using the back burner while the oven is on (not true), not using the overhead exhaust ( not indicated in the user manual) and a bad temperature sensor.
I haven’t been seriously burned because you can’t touch it long enough to get burned!

Caller bumped the front of the stove before going upstairs for a few moment. After about 20 minutes the caller noticed a strong gas odor coming from the kitchen. Caller noticed the knob was turned and was releasing gas but not igniting. Caller contacted the gas company and they informed her to leave the house immediately and to close the door gently so nothing can ignite the gas. The gas company sent out a technician to clear the gas leak.
Caller believes this product is a fire hazard.

The product, in the report: 1st stove NX58M9420SS , WITH a regular Bake & Convection Bake and the four different burners I didn’t need. 1st, the knobs on this model are very dangerous, and a hazard with children, adults, the elderly and anyone wearing “clothing” around it/leaning over, brushing up, bumping, leaning, reaching, will turn on the knobs, click, click and twice I actually turned on the jets on 2 burners!!!! 2nd The stove went back because the oven would not keep temperature at 350 degrees on the REGULAR bake cycle 2nd stove Samsung NX58H9500WS. These knobs are better, they don’t accidently turn on when brushed up against or bumped into. However, the bake setting did NOT stay at 350. It would go from 325 to 400 down/up, but never stay at 350 The tech said that Samsung “trained” them to “take the highest/lowest temp, divided it by 2 and you get “your average temp for the oven” How do you bake a cake at 350 or a cheese cake when the temp fluctuates so much? The tech said, “before you complain, you need to “bake” something to try it out.” Unbelievable. Samsung rep said “she has not heard of anything like this and PC Richards sent out another NX58H9500WS. I expressed my concerns with all the stoves going in/out of my house and sent a letter to the [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] of PC Richards expressing the fact that I smell natural gas on occasion. I don’t want to call PSEG because during the installation of the 1st stove they turned off my heat/hot water on the coldest day of the year and they did NOT HAVE A LICENSED/REPAIR PERSON to come fix the issue they caused on a Sunday!
The stove manufacturers are creating a monopoly but using the “same” or “similar” parts creating havoc. If you look at every stove in a Best Buy store (they have the largest selection to observe the variations), each manufacture, if you want a decent stove, gives you an extremely large burner, a medium burner, a small burner and a tiny burner (for making chocolate). I don’t make chocolate, but each manufacture is “forcing” me to “buy one and one that has a “griddle” burner in the center, making it a 5-burner stove. Each 30” stove has the same OD, and a “tiny” little bottom drawer. If you take a $700.00 stove with a “small oven” 48/5cu ft, the OD is the same, the tiny draw is the same, as the OD of the $1,300.00 or $3,000.00 stoves which have an OD of 30” but may or may not have a larger oven. That is not the “safety” issue here but does concern me that each manufacturer is “forcing” me to buy a 5 burner stove, if I want one with more bells & whistles. My [REDACTED] died after 15 years, the ‘motherboard’ was too close to the “heat” and burned it out. The manufacturer “stopped” making the control panel and other than that, there was nothing wrong with the stove and I was very happy with it! I began my search for a new stove, reading all the reviews on line, standing in Best Buy for 2 hours, asking questions, evaluating the pros/cons of which stove had what and not being able to afford anything over $1,500.00 which is insane in my eyes for a simple stove, I had it delivered to my home. Their installers created a safety issues during the installation process which I cannot go into, but that is not the reason for my writing. I would like to know how, the US government allows Samsung or any other stove manufacturer to sell dangerous gas stoves within the United States? I would like an answer to this question and I would like the government to immediately inspect, recall, and order a redesign of certain gas stoves namely one in particular that I have experienced on or about January 13, 2018. During my research at Best Buy, for what I was able to afford, I bought a Samsung NX58M9420SS , WITH a regular Bake & Convection Bake and the four different burners I didn’t need. 2nd The stove went back because the oven would not keep temperature at 350 degrees on the REGULAR bake cycle. The stove went back and I went to PC Richards and upgraded, costing me almost double to a Samsung NX58H9500WS. These knobs are better, they don’t accidently turn on when brushed up against or bumped into. However, the bake setting DID NOT stay at 350. It would go from 325 to 400 down/up, but never stay at 350 The tech said that Samsung “trained” them to “take the highest/lowest temp, divided it by 2 and you get “your average temp for the oven” How do you bake a cake at 350 or a cheesecake when the temp fluctuates so much? The tech said, “before you complain, you need to “bake” something to try it out.” Since when did you ever hear of having to “try” to bake something to see if your baked items comes out ok? Where is the QUALITY CONTROL HERE? I had my “store bought” oven thermometers in showing the temperature went from 325-416. Even with the tech using his “calibrated” machine he was coming up with the same numbers as my store bought ones. The tech said to “use the convection bake, it is better.” We tried the convection bake and it just varied a degree or two below/above 350, which would be within an acceptable range for baking. The tech said that Samsung “trained” them to “take the highest/lowest temp, divided it by 2 and you get “your average temp for the oven.” How do you bake a cake at 350 or a cheese cake when the temp fluctuates so much. Samsung said it was “normal” to vary 10-20 degrees in temperature. Are they out of their mind? If I tried to bake a cake or cheese cake it would be a disaster! The tech said to “use the convection bake, it is better.” We tried the convection bake and it just varied a degree or two below/above 350. However, I had tried to bake a rectangular cake in a convection oven once and where the fan was in the back of the oven on the left side, caused the cake to rise 3” on that side and the other side didn’t rise at all. Notwithstanding the fact that they are FORCING me to USE the convection bake that I don’t like instead of the regular bake is UNACCEPTABLE. I called Samsung directly, they sent a 3rd party vendor out to test the stove as well. He came up with the same numbers and again said, “use the ‘convection’ bake option, it is better. Well, better for who? Samsung is making a product that does NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS! They are “offering’ a bake and convection bake option, but the REGULAR BAKE option does not work. That is the reason I got rid of my [REDACTED]!!! Do I need to be a math teacher to figure out, what temperature I need to set the oven on if it goes up/down 10-20 degrees then divide it by 2 to get a number I can bake a 350 cake at? Insane! The Samsung REP from the store said, I must have had a FLUKE that this does not happen They just delivered my 3rd stove today 2/31/18. After I burned all the junk out of the oven, I had my trusty oven thermometers in taking the temperature. Once again, the REG BAKE CYCLES BETWEEN 325 -400 DEGREES. When you start the oven, it is PREHEATING, when the digital LED BEEPS AT 350, you would “THINK” that the oven is READY to put your cake in, but NO, when it beeps at 350, the oven temperature is actually at 250! It takes several MORE minutes for it to reach 350, then the temperature climbs to 400!!! And then back down again. The Convection Beeps at 350 but the temp in the oven is only 325. About 3 min later it goes up to 350. then 3 min later 375 degrees. I would like to know HOW SAMSUNG is ALLOWED to sell a range that does not keep accurate temperature? OK you may say, my oven thermometer is “not” accurate, but the 2 techs that came out, using their “calibrated” tester, came up with the same temperature as my oven thermometer! SAMSUNG has a big problem with their thermostat in regulating the oven temperatures. Yet after all my research, NOT ONE review stated that the oven temperature did NOT keep regulated, NOT ONE review stated that the knobs were a fire hazard and dangerous. I started to research an [REDACTED] TOP OF THE LINE….. The review in part stated…..” One thing I don’t care for is the burner switches turn on very easily if bumped up against. That is not good, especially if you have young children (or elderly). I have only had the stove a couple of weeks and haven’t used all the features, yet.” So how are these stoves being allowed to be sold in the United States? Who is suppose to be testing them? Are you going to “wait” until some child dies in a house fire because the knobs are to easy to turn on or that someone received 3rd degree burns because their clothing caught fire when the gas jets accidently turned on? I went back to PC Richard’s today explaining to the manager, [REDACTED] about the problem, so we started going over all the gas stoves and everyone came up with a problem! Why are you allowing this crap to be sold to consumers? I looked at the [REDACTED], [REDACTED], etc all for the serious baker. I cannot afford a $5,000 stove. However, IF I pay $700.00, $1,500, or $2,000. The OVEN TEMPERATURE SHOULD READ 350 DEGREES NOT 325 OR 400! !!!!!!!!!! I would like to know what you are going to do about these manufactures selling inferior products that do NOT meet to the specifications they say? I started looking at the reviews for the [REDACTED] who “offers” steam for its self cleaning option which have numerous complaints that it doesn’t work. With that said, how is a “AVERAGE” middle-low income person suppose to bake in ovens that don’t work properly or are too dangerous to be in a house? Who is allowing this? Never mind the “novice” baker, who young adults out on their own! When you set the temp to 350, and the LED beeps (telling you the oven has preheated to 350 and you can put your food in), it is NOT at temperature and it affects the cooking time on your food possibly causing a health issue by having under cooked meats! Or in my experience, it dries it out on the outside and under cooks it on the inside. Samsung tech said to “use the convection, its better” better for who? Samsung is offering a Regular Bake (which doesn’t work) and a convection bake that dries out the foods! In my opinion, they have a problem with their heating element and don’t want to fix it! I don’t understand why, as an ordinary, middle income female, I have to purchase a [REDACTED], or the like commercial stove in order to have the oven bake at the correct temperature? I can’t afford to pay 5k, 7k, or 15k for a stove, but I do expect that if I set the oven for 350 it needs to STAY AT 350 not fluctuate up and down 10-20 degrees as the Samsung & PC Richards tech said they were ‘trained’ to explain to the customers! Who is doing the quality control on these items coming in? How am I supposed to “test” these ovens/stoves, like to test a car before buying it when they are trying to jamb crap down our throats? Every review that you read, from any site, including Consumer Review, lists Samsung as being the ‘best’ stove to buy. First stove installed 1/13/18 Second Stove installed around presidents day weekend Third Stove installed approximately 3/4 weeks ago.

The product, in the report: Samsung Slide in Gas Range
This refers to a gas leak in a Samsung range (Model NX58H9500WS Serial# 0BR47DDGA00822R.) This range is being used with propane . We noticed a propane smell on & off for some time and called our propane company to investigate in Oct 2017. The technician found a leak in the Gas Safety Valve Assembly (Part # DG94-00449A ) of the range and replaced this part. We again noticed a gas smell and in Feb. I purchased a leak detector and found a leak in the same part. This time we called an appliance repair person who confirmed the problem and again replaced the same part on Feb 12 2018. We immediately detected a leak again in the same part and contacted Samsung directly who was kind enough to send a Samsung tech ([REDACTED]) to examine the range. He again replaced the same part on Feb 23 and while he was there I used the meter and showed him that this part still leaks. [REDACTED] called Samsung corporate who advised that it would be referred to the engineering dept. [REDACTED] called me back on March 1 and told me that: • The engineering dept was not able to tell him if this gas leak is normal or safe • When asked he said he “thinks” the the range is safe to use and that it is normal for this part to leak gas. According to my gas meter the leak is consistent at >80ppm and often >160 and even >320ppm These reading are without using the range. There is a distinct smell of gas noticeable under the range If you use the oven or burners even from a brief period the leak from the Safety Valve assembly reads >640ppm on the leak detector which is the maximum indication on the meter. The attached video was taken after 1 burner was turned on for about 3 seconds then turned off. I have videos to show the meter reading and the exact spot on the Gas Safety Valve where it is leaking. I do not believe a gas leak of this degree is normal and have asked Samsung again to look into this and was told it was escalated to Samsung corporate but have not heard back from them FYI This part (Gas Safety Valve Assembly (Part # DG94-00449A ) is used on multiple models of Samsung ranges

The product, in the report: Samsung Gas Stove
My wife said the Samsung kitchen stove knobs weren’t working. She brought one to me. It is a metal knob but the inside center sleeve is plastic. The plastic sleeve was cracked on opposite sides. This appears dangerous, since a burner or oven may not turn off if the plastic sleeve is broken.
I looked on line. This failure is well documented and people are furious! Samsung replaces its warranty knobs with similarly defective knobs and if you are out of warranty, forgetaboutit! See this website for dozens of complaints: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Kitchen/Samsung-Range-Knobs-Break/td-p/81846
Apparently Samsung considers defective gas control knobs a cosmetic item and not a safety item.
I suggest the CPSC look into this, and if merited, require Samsung to offer to replace its stove knobs with knobs of a safe design.
Best wishes,

The product, in the report: Gas Range
My daughter and I were cooking on the gas stove. She turned the knob to turn the gas on, but the housing on the knob that slips over the valve switch on the stove broke and the knob came off in her hand. The gas was coming from the burner, but it was not ignited. I was standing there, so I was able to use my fingers to grab the valve and turn it closed. Since then, two more of the knob housings have cracked. I am concerned that someone, especially an elderly person, may have this happen, turn on the gas, have the knob come off, and then be unable to turn it off again. It takes some finger strength to do it, and it is not easy to slip another knob off it’s valve stem and unto another since there is a metal sheath that may or may not come off with the knob.

The product, in the report: gas range
The submitter said the control knobs on the range are extremely sensitive to the touch and it poses a fire hazard.
The submitter said sometime in October he had an incident with the knob accidently being touched and gas filled up the house. The submitter said he does not have a good sense of smell and him and his grandson did not notice the gas odor but his wife noticed when she came home. The submitter said they had to open the doors and windows to ventilate the odor. The submitter said there have been other incidents since then but they have been more cautious with checking the range. Many times it happens when him and his wife are grabbing things from the cabinets above the range. The submitter said all five of the knobs have this issue. He said sometimes the knob will turn causing it to ignite and other times it turns causing the burner to release gas.
He contacted the firm and notified them of his concerns but they advised him that it was a design of the rnage. The submitter said he asked to speak with their safety department but they told him they didn’t have one. The submitter does not feel safe having the range but they refused to provide a replacement or refund. The firm sent a technician to inspect the range and the technician found that the range worked as intended and they did not deem it as unsafe.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range nx58h5600ss
I would like to report a manufacturing defect affecting the control knobs of Samsung gas ranges. Although the knobs are metal, the interior portion of the knob that directly attaches to the range is made of plastic which becomes brittle over time from the heat of cooking. As a result, the knobs become lose fitting/stripped out which makes very hard to ensure that the burner is shut completely off. Although eventually, the knobs will break completely and become unusable the time leading up to failure is very dangerous.
I have spoke with Samsung and they are unwilling to offer a replacement as the range is out of warranty. From my reserach online, many people also have the same issue (please see multiple user reports here https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/Kitchen/thread-id/2048/page/1 )
My particular model is a nx58h5600ss from 2015 although this seems to be affecting multiple Samsung gas ranges.

The product, in the report: Samsung NX58J7750SG 5.8 CF gas flex duo dual Convection range
I have a Samsung Gas Range NX58J7750SG (duo convection). I was using the gas burning when the knob broke off and I couldn’t shut the gas off the burner. The inside of the knob is made of plastic! Samsung said they couldn’t do anything about this, but I could purchase a new knob, and in the meantime I should shut the gas off? Now I have had a second knob break, so this is a dangerous design flaw

FIRE HAZARD
We own a Samsung NE58F9500SS stove/oven for about 6 month the front knobs that control the burners of the stove have been turned on with the slightest brush or lean against them. At first we though it was just us and have been diligent in staying away from the knobs. Last night my teenage daughter almost burnt the house down by bumping the knob while using the microwave above and the stove top turned on. I started to research the issue and find hundreds of complains listed on the Samsung website about the same issue. This is now an URGENT concern and I really believe a recall is absolutely in order before someone burns their house down is Down in a fire started by this product. The posts go back over a year and there is no solution from Samsung. Please let me know the next steps. The product, in the report: Samsung drop-in oven and stove.
Samsung Notes 10/15 Called SCE&G to take a look at our new samsung gas oven due to smell of natural gas when it was in use. SCEG Caution Ticket issued because oven exhaust contained up to 90% un-burned natural gas and 290 PPM carbon monoxide. Recorded a video of the SCEG tech talking the reading with his test meter. Gas tech said that was the most carbon monoxide he had ever seen exhausted from a gas oven in 22 years on the job. The Hazardous condition ticket lists “Gas Leak at the appliance” 10/19 Tech dispatched from Samsung service center came to the house. checked oven, discussed with supervisor on the phone for 45 min. No repairs made. Explained this issue to him, he was shown the SCEG caution ticket and the video. Emailed the video at his request to [REDACTED]. He said that they would order a part and contact us to schedule a time to install it when it arrived. 10/20 Samsung service company that sent the tech the previous day called from 803-814-1451. Advised me that they were told by Samsung that I needed to run the oven through a clean cycle before they would order any parts. I voiced my concerns that this seemed very dangerous. I was told that they would not take any further action. I called SCEG and asked for their recommendation. The rep I spoke with contacted the gas service dept, I was told that in no way should I attempt to run a clean cycle on an oven that had been issued a caution ticket. Asked the rep to please note this on our account. Called the Samsung service national hotline (800-726-7864) and explained the situation. The rep said she could not see any notes pertaining to their local service contractors recommendation, agreed that running a clean cycle was very dangerous and suggested that I let her setup another service appointment with a different service company. Sloan service 803-796-6130 was issued the ticket #[REDACTED]. I contacted them and made the appointment for 10/25/17. 10/25 Tech from Sloan came to check out the oven. He said their was nothing he could do to repair the unit. He documented the caution ticket from SCEG and said that they would contact Samsung on our behalf. 10/27 Called Sloan to follow up, was told that the ticket was closed on their end, and that the Samsung executive customer relations division would be contacting me to discuss a return or replacement of the unit, and would be sending me an email link where I could upload proof of purchase info to them. 10/30 Called Samsung nation hotline again, they gave me the number of the returns / exchange service center 888-501-2502 and given the ticket # [REDACTED]. Called the number and was left on hold for over 2 hours. Finally got a rep on the line ([REDACTED]), they said that I needed to upload the proof of purchase. I sent her scanned copies of the original thermal receipt from home depot and the special services customer invoice to [REDACTED] referencing ticket#[REDACTED] in order to process a refund. The refund amount she offered was less than our out of pocket expense, included no consideration for not being able to use the oven for more than a month. Was told by [REDACTED] that I would have to speak with a supervisor and that either [REDACTED] or [REDACTED] would call me the next day. 11/2 Spoke with [REDACTED] the supervisor. (Called from [REDACTED]) She said they would only pay for the purchase price. They would not arrange for the defective oven to be removed. That disposal was my problem. She did offer an exchange, but I would have to have my own plumbing or gas contractor on site at the time of the exchange in order to unhook the old oven and install the new one. After some more discussion she did offer to add in an extra $25 to cover the cost of the gas hookup kit that home depot requires you to purchase. I told her that I felt this was unfair and that I would have to contact the home depot to see what remedy that could offer. The home depot did offer to refund the $200 extended service plan we purchased but told me that I would have to deal directly with Samsung on the defective oven refund. In the end Samsung offered $1862 for a refund provided that I cut the power cord to the oven and signed a document stating that I would not re-sell it, and of course disposal of the defective oven was my problem. Told Lilly that I would have to contact Home depot before I decided how to proceed. The home depot said a $200 refund on the service plan was not a problem, but I would have to come into a store to have that refund processed. In total we would get $1862 + $200 = $2062 back. We paid $2113.12 to the Home depot on 9/2/17, for a defective product that was exhausting 290ppm carbon monoxide and un-burned natural gas into our home every time we used it for a month before we were informed by SCE&G that it was a very dangerous defective product. Since 10/15/17 it has been sitting in the kitchen taking up space until this issue can be resolved in a fair manner. 11/21/17: received call from [REDACTED] at Office of president, she left message. 11/21/17: returned call, left message for [REDACTED] 11/22/17: called [REDACTED], left message. Samsung slide in gas range model #NX58H9500WS/AA interior glass exploded in the oven
We had used our new oven only a few times. There was something baking in the oven. While in another room, my husband and I heard a loud pop. Upon reentering the kitchen, I opened the oven door to discover the tempered glass was completely fractured. I closed the oven door and all of the hot pieces of glass had come apart and dropped into the oven and the warming drawer. I immediately called Samsung who said they would send a technician out to determine the cause and to see if it was covered under warranty, though we owned this for less than 90days, and despite this being some type of manufacturing defect. It was not clear if the range we had lost faith in would be completely replaced.
I followed up with a call to the retailer, who immediately offered to replace the range with few questions asked. Having had the glass explode, we feel much safer with a complete replacement of the range, though we will Be without an oven for the next 10 days.

I have a Samsung Gas Range, model number NX58H5600SS/AA. The gas oven began behaving abnormally after 14 months. Samsung repaired it, and 2 days later it caught on fire. Samsung again sent someone out to repair it (4 days later) and it again caught on fire. The fire burned the gas pipe on the stove as well, which is even more concerning. Samsung has treated this with no urgency and I feel that this is a defect of the range and not the fix, as it has happened twice, regardless of the repair. I have photos that can show all of the damage. I don’t want this to happen to others.
