The product, in the report: Samsung freestanding gas range with oven and glass oven door
The glass door of my Samsung oven suddenly shattered while the oven was in normal use at 350 degrees F. The glass broke unexpectedly during ordinary cooking, creating a dangerous situation and scattering broken glass. My young daughter was injured by the broken glass resulting from this incident. This was not caused by misuse or improper operation of the oven. The incident raises serious safety concerns regarding the durability and safety of the oven door glass, particularly in a household with young children. I am reporting this incident because the sudden shattering of the oven door created a hazardous situation and resulted in an actual injury to my child. I want this incident documented and reviewed for potential product safety concerns.

The product, in the report: Samsung Stove/Range Model NX60T8111SS The Samsung NX60T8111SS is a 30-inch Front Control Slide-In Gas Range Purchase details: Order Date: February 3, 2021 [REDACTED] Lowe’s Store: San Bruno, CA (#1019) Items Purchased: Samsung 30-in 5-Burner 6.0-cu ft Gas Range (Model #NX60T8111SS, Item #2473379): $989.00
My Samsung gas oven and stove top has knobs that turn on if I brush up against them while walking buy it. This has happened at least a dozen times in 5 years. Fore me at 6’0” the knobs are right at hip level and easily activated if brushed against while walking by the range. Many Samsung ranges sold in U.S. have this known problem, but Samsung says my model NX60T8111SS is not part of the recall and has twice ignored my attempts to report the hazard to them.

No one hurt Made Sep 29, 2026, sent to the company Oct 6, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 21, 2026
The product, in the report: Samsung 6.0 cu. ft. Smart Slide-in Gas Range, Black Stainless Steel, Model NX60T8111SG/AA.
I am reporting a hazardous defect in my Samsung 6.0 cu. ft. Smart Slide-in Gas Range, Black Stainless Steel, Model NX60T8111SG/AA. I purchased the range on November 26, 2022 from Samsung.com, Order [REDACTED]. It was delivered and installed on February 2, 2023. After about 2.5-3 years of normal household use, ALL of the burner control knobs cracked. The plastic collars inside the knobs broke apart, so the knobs now spin freely on the valve stems and no longer grip them. On at least one occasion, I turned a knob to the OFF position and gas continued to flow. The burner could not be shut off using the knob. This is uncontrolled gas flow on a gas appliance, a fire and asphyxiation hazard. The fact that all knobs failed identically indicates a materials or manufacturing defect rather than wear or damage from use. I also hold a Samsung Care Plus 5-year extended warranty administered by Assurant, claim [REDACTED]. Assurant denied the claim on September 29, 2026, calling the knobs a consumable part. No injuries have occurred, but the inability to shut off gas flow creates a serious risk of fire and asphyxiation. Note on date, the knobs cracked progressively after roughly 2.5-3 years of normal use and the exact date of the shutoff failure is not known. The estimated date entered reflects approximately when the failed knobs were discovered, September 2026.

No one hurt Made Sep 28, 2026, sent to the company Oct 6, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 21, 2026
The product, in the report: Product Details: Manufacturer: Samsung Appliance: Gas Range Stove Model Number: NX60T8111SS/AA Serial Number: 0HF97DDW700916J
A severe safety failure occurred with our gas range when an active flame leaked directly from behind the surface burner control knob while the stove was in operation. I recorded a video ([REDACTED]) that clearly documents the live fire shooting out from the front control panel area as the knob was being adjusted. The manufacturer was notified but failed to treat this life-threatening defect with the necessary urgency.
What type of product(s) were being used? A residential Samsung gas range stove. Model Number: NX60T8111SS/AA Serial Number: 0HF97DDW700916J
Who was using the product(s)? I ([REDACTED]) and my spouse, [REDACTED], were using the appliance.
How were the product(s) being used? The stove was being used for its intended household purpose: cooking a meal on the top surface burners. The control knobs were being turned to adjust the flame when the fire inappropriately leaked from the control panel.
Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? No physical injuries occurred, but there was a severe risk of injury. This defect posed an immediate, life-threatening burn hazard to the person cooking and could have easily caused a catastrophic house fire had the flame not been noticed immediately.
How did any injuries occur? N/A. No injuries occurred due to immediate intervention to shut off the unit.

No one hurt Made Sep 23, 2026, sent to the company Sep 28, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 13, 2026
The product, in the report: Samsung freestanding gas range, 6.0 cu. ft. Smart Freestanding Gas Range with 18K BTU Dual Power Burner and Self Clean in Stainless Steel
On September 6, 2026, the outer oven door glass of my Samsung freestanding gas range (Model NX60A6311SS/AA, Serial 0J4S7DAW901070H, manufactured September 2023) shattered spontaneously while the oven was OFF and had not been used. Glass fell to the kitchen floor. After the glass shattered, a persistent crackling and rattling noise continued, the noise stopped only once the range was unplugged, indicating a powered component was involved even though the oven was off. There was no impact, no misuse, and no injuries. This matches the spontaneous oven-glass shattering pattern that [REDACTED] flagged to the CPSC in May 2026.
(10/09/2026): Samsung approved a one-time free repair, but at the in-home service visit today (October 9, 2026), the authorized servicer said the coverage authorization from Samsung was not in their system, and the repair was not completed. The range remains unrepaired.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range, purchased in September 2023, 30 inch, stainless steel.
The front glass of my Samsung Range made a loud pop noise when it was not in use, the front glass began to crackle and shatter. We were nearby and were able to put a towel under to collect the broken glass. The door had to be removed so that we could safely remove the remaining glass. Samsung no longer makes the replacement part and has been no help in assisting me with replacing my oven door which was purchased in September of 2023. I am happy to find your page to hopefully assist me in a newer and safer oven door, and prevent further issues for other consumers. We have been without the use of our range for over a month. We still have the broken door in our possession and would love to have this replaced.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range. NX58H9500WS/20 is the model number. It is silver/brushed nickel/chrome in color.
Last night I was making dinner using the stovetop of our Samsung gas range (Model NX58H9500WS/20). I turned the oven onto broil to make some garlic bread. I let it preheat for approx 5 minutes and my wife opened the oven door to put the garlic bread in. as the gas escaped the oven from it not lighting, it ignited from the stove top... with me right in the way. It singed my chest length hair, caused a burning feeling in my right forearm, sensitivity to my eyes and nares and throat as well as sensitivity to my eyelids from the combustion of the gas.

Glass door of a gas oven shattered. I was baking fish, and turned off the oven after the recipe recommended cooking time. I noticed the fish wasn’t done, so I turned it and turned on the oven again. When the fish was done, I turned off the oven and as I was serving it I heard glass dropping into the warming drawer. There were no injuries, but we had to act promptly to keep spilled glass off the floor and out of our dog’s paws.

The product, in the report: The product is a Samsung household gas oven range. Model number: NS58R4311SS/AA. Manufacturing date: September 2019.
The glass in my Samsung oven door shattered unexpectedly when the oven was off. The glass kept crackling and pieces were flying off. I had to break the rest of it out to make it stop. Tiny pieces of glass were all over the floor with a dog present. Got one small cut on my hand from the glass. I called Samsung and they said they would fix it. Then they said there was no service available in my area and said they needed proof of purchase (receipt with store number, etc.) in order to settle my ticket (which they never described what that meant). I was not able to get a copy of my receipt from Lowes due to the number of years since purchase. Samsung continued to insist that I needed proof of purchase and when I told them I can’t get it (for at least the 6th time) - they canceled my ticket.

The product, in the report: Gas stove, X58H5600SS/AA
Every time we brush against the stove in our small kitchen, it starts the burner on our gas stove. It usually just clicks but several times it has started the burner with fire. I started looking for locks of some kind a few months ago but the ones I got were not fully compatible. So today after it happened again yesterday, I put the model number into [REDACTED] and found a page that suggests there was a recall on these in 2018. Currently there is a recall on ELECTRIC stoves with the same issue so I contacted Samsung to see if I could get some locks from them. They told me no and told me there is/was no recall from the cpsc on gas stoves and that I would need to have it serviced or buy locks from a retailer.

Around 3:30 AM, my family was awakened by the kitchen fire alarm. My wife ran to the kitchen and yelled for help because our Samsung Gas Oven was actively on fire, with flames pouring out of it. Inside the oven cavity, a wooden cutting board was completely engulfed in flames, and a plastic container sitting on top of the board had melted. The kitchen was filled with thick smoke. To save our home, my wife dragged the burning wooden board to the sink to douse it, and I rushed a flaming piece of metal out to the garage to safely extinguish it, it was the most frightening moment of our lives. We immediately unplugged the unit to cut power and stop the electronic gas valves from operating. The next day, my son plugged the stove back into the wall to test it while recording a video. The moment he turned the oven setting on, the machine immediately bypassed normal temperature controls and automatically forced the gas burners straight to maximum high heat on its own. We have clear video evidence of this automatic electronic failure. The stove remains completely disconnected from power and gas. Samsung sent a technician who refused to remove the motherboard, test the hardware, or run diagnostics, stating he “did not feel comfortable” due to a pest visual. Samsung Specialty Claims (Adjuster [REDCATED]) used this incomplete inspection to deny our fire liability claim. I am filing this report because an uncontrolled electronic failure commanding gas valves to lock on maximum high heat is a catastrophic explosion hazard, and the manufacturer is using a visual pest excuse to avoid pulling or testing the control board.

Samsung gas range randomly started turning on the oven by itself with no human near it. The oven would come on, switch to broiler mode, then 350 degrees and so on. We would turn it off and it would come back on by itself. Had to turn off at circuit breaker. Called Samsung, went through the steps they suggested, such as turn off at circuit breaker, wait a period of time to turn back on so it could reset, etc. This did not stop it from happening so we had to call the repair company they suggested ([REDACTED]). The 3-yr warranty had just expired so we paid [REDACTED] appliance service to replace the circuit board, which costs about as much as a new range. That started in February, repair was March 4 2026. Then the whole thing started happening again in June 2026 and Samsung again referred us back to [REDACTED] appliance repairs. [REDACTED] came out again on June 25, 2026 and said Samsung was telling him to replace the circuit board again at our expense, so we declined. This range is in my elderly mother’s home kitchen.

The product, in the report: Range/oven, gas
I am writing to report a serious safety issue involving my Samsung range Model#NX60A6711SS, Serial #0J4Y7DAT300864A. My wife and I left the house for a short while on July 4th. When arriving home we had found the Broiler on the oven was on and it was very hot. My wife proceeded to turn the oven off, after 3 or 4 sec it activated itself and was on air fryer. After repeating to turn it off once again, it was back on again after a few secs to Bake. I then proceeded to pull it away from the wall and unplug it. My wife the proceeded to call the Samsung help center, which was of no help, she was told that it was out of warranty by about 3 yrs (which means they could call a service tech at my expense). This is not a minor malfunction; this is clearly a engineering flaw and/or defect in workmanship. I eventually [REDACTED] and found where someone had posted a quick temporary fix. This would indicate that this malfunction has happened to other owners of the same Samsung range. Perhaps the CPSC should place a recall this on range so as to prevent property damage or worse yet loss of lives. This appliance turning itself on without any input creates a clear fire hazard to my home and risk of injury to my family. I fear that this will happen again if we should be away from the house for an extended period of time and come home to find out our house has been demolished by fire. I am asking that Samsung do something to correct this serious flaw or provide me with a replacement stove that would be a safe alternative to a very serious design malfunction of my range. I have also written to the CEO of Samsung, a [REDACTED] at the following email address officeofpresident@sea.samsung.com referencing ticket [REDACTED].
My last verbal contact with a Samsung representative was on July 10, 2026. I spoke with [REDACTED]. At that time she agreed that my situation was a serious and dangerous concern and pleaded with me to open a repair ticket to have a Samsung take a look at the problem at my expense even though the range should never ever, under any circumstance be able to light itself with no human input, and that Sumsung should make the repair or replacement at no cost to me. She kept saying please open a repair ticket as this was a serious safety issue. I reluctantly agreed to open the ticket and was issued ticket [REDACTED]. On July 13, I received an email from [REDACTED] saying “I’m reaching out to you to inform you that your ticket [REDACTED] will be canceled because the unit Is out of warranty and there is no service center available in your area”.
This leaves my Wife and I with a 4 year old gas range, that we paid nearly $900 for, with the capability to light the oven burners on its own at who knows when. Hopefully the next time it decides to light itself we are home and alerted of the malfunction so we can address it before something bad happens. My Wife and I are retired, living on our meager Social Security benefits and can’t afford to purchase new ranges every 4 years, nor could we afford to have our home and belongings destroyed by fire. Thank you for your concern regarding this matter

The product, in the report: Samsung 30-Inch Smart Gas Range with Bespoke Design, Slide-In installation, and 6.0 Cubic Feet Oven Capacity. It features a stainless steel exterior, a digital control panel on the front, and a built-in temperature sensor system.
On June 20, 2026, a brand-new Samsung Gas Range, Model NSG6DG8500SRAA, purchased on May 9, 2026, and delivered on May 18, 2026, suffered a catastrophic temperature sensor failure during normal operation. This failure resulted in an active fire and heavy smoke in our kitchen, terrifying my 10-year-old kid and leaving a toxic, hazardous burnt odor in our multi-generational home for over a week.
On June 26, 2026, a certified technician dispatched by Samsung physically inspected the unit and officially documented the root cause in writing as a definitive manufacturer defect: Temp sensor error. Product issue.
Despite this written admission of a severe safety hazard from their own licensed technician, Samsung customer service department has acted in gross negligence. They have flatly refused to replace or refund this fire hazard. Instead, they are attempting to delay accountability and manipulate the evidence by demanding a secondary inspection to override their own technician safety report. This corporate refusal to mitigate an active fire hazard in a consumer home is entirely unacceptable and poses an immediate threat to public safety.

My cat jumped on a Samsung Model FX710BGS/XAA gas stove, pressed on two stove knobs, and turned on the gas. I was outside at the time. When I came in, I smelled a “rotting” smell and looked throughout the house for the source. When I passed the stove, I saw that two knobs were turned on, releasing gas. I turned the knobs off, opened all the windows and doors, and aired out the house. This was the second or third time this happened.

The product, in the report: Samsung gas range with front-facing burner control knobs. Stainless steel finish. Slide-in style range with five burner gas cooktop and front-mounted control knobs positioned along the front edge of the stove. Model number NX58K9850SS/AA. The product was purchased in approximately 2019 for normal residential kitchen use. The stove includes large metallic front burner knobs with an angled layout and digital oven controls positioned in the center rear panel. The concern specifically involves the front control knob design and how easily the burner knobs can be activated.
I am reporting a safety concern involving a Samsung gas range, model NX58K9850SS/AA, with front-facing burner control knobs.
My 12-month-old grandson was able to reach the front burner control knobs, turn one of the knobs, and ignite the gas burner. No injury or fire occurred, but the burner did ignite successfully. This created a serious safety concern because nearby combustible materials such as paper towels or kitchen items could have caught fire, and there was also concern about potential burn injury to the child.
The stove was being used in a normal residential kitchen environment. The concern involves how easily the front control knobs can be activated unintentionally by a young child.
After the incident, I attempted to locate compatible child-safety knob covers or protective devices for this specific model. Due to the tight spacing and angled front-knob layout, standard child-safety products do not fit or function properly on this model.
I contacted Samsung regarding the concern. Samsung Executive Care opened service ticket [REDACTED] and arranged for a technician evaluation. During the service visit, the technician acknowledged that the knobs easily turned and activated the burners. While I was present on speakerphone, the technician also communicated this observation directly to Samsung technical support and demonstrated the knob activation during the call. The technician additionally recorded the knob operation as part of the evaluation process.
After the evaluation, Samsung advised that the stove was operating as designed and that no repair or modification was available.
No injuries occurred during this incident.

My wife was having daily migraines for over a year. So on January 23, 2026 she called [REDACTED] to see if there was a carbon monoxide leak on our Samsung range. The gas company found high levels of carbon monoxide in the house coming from our gas range and asked us to evacuate. We then called Samsung who sent their service team out for inspection. Samsung technician didnt have a Carbon Monoxide detector so they ordered one. After 6 weeks and 3 different technicians, they decided to replace the natural gas regulator to fix the excess CO being emitted. Samsung replaced the regulator on March 9, 2026. Immediately after the Samsung technician left, my wife smelled natural gas and called [REDACTED]. They came out and took readings. Saying our home was inhabitable and that the regulator that was just installed is leaking natural gas, as well as the gas connection to the range and its burners. We reached out to Samsung Claim Rep but she didnt respond. So we called every other day to customer service who could only pass on the message to the claim representative. Claim rep [REDACTED] was difficult to get into contact with and only responded with a couple emails but not pertaining to the new natural gas issue. On 3/26/2026, she closed our ticket with false information (greasy burners) . Never recognizing Samsung technicians caused a natural gas leak. We have emailed and called numerous times since. Its now been 3 months without our range. We believe we deserve a refund or replacement.

Complaint Against Samsung Gas Oven Safety Hazard
I am filing a complaint regarding a serious safety issue with a Samsung gas oven that I recently purchased.
Immediately after installation, there was a strong gas odor coming from the oven during use. I reported this concern to Samsung, and a technician was sent to evaluate the appliance. The technician stated that the smell was normal and advised that when using the oven, I should run the exhaust fan and open windows. Given that temperatures were near 10F outside, this recommendation seemed unreasonable, but I attempted to follow the guidance.
The issue persisted. Each time I used the oven, my home filled with a gas smell, and I began experiencing headaches and nausea. Approximately 10 days ago, while using the oven, my carbon monoxide detector alarmed. I immediately opened all windows and doors to ventilate the home, and the alarm eventually stopped.
I reported this incident to Samsung right away and was told someone would contact me. After not receiving a response, I followed up multiple times over several days. Each time, I was told the issue had been escalated and that I would be contacted within 2472 hours. As of today, I have still not received any follow-up or resolution.
Due to this ongoing safety concern, I have been unable to use the oven for over 10 days and have incurred additional expenses for meals outside the home. More importantly, I am deeply concerned about the health and safety of my family given the carbon monoxide exposure and physical symptoms experienced.
I am requesting the following: Immediate resolution of this safety issue Replacement or refund of the defective appliance Reimbursement for additional food expenses incurred due to the inability to use the oven
Samsung has failed to address a potentially dangerous product issue in a timely or appropriate manner. I am seeking prompt action to resolve this matter.

The product, in the report: Samsung Bespoke 6.0 cu. ft. Smart Slide In GAS Range with Precision Knobs Glass Touch Controls & Storage Drawer Stainless Steel
I am reporting a safety concern involving a gas range purchased from Costco.
A month after installation, we detected a gas smell coming from the oven. A technician inspected both the gas line and the appliance and confirmed that while there was no external gas leak, the oven itself is defective. The technician used a gas detector, which was triggered when placed inside the oven. I was explicitly advised not to use the appliance due to safety concerns.
Despite this, the unit remains in my home and I have been without a functioning stove for several days while attempting to resolve the issue through Costco. The replacement process has been delayed due to inconsistent communication and internal handling of the claim.
This situation is particularly concerning because it involves a gas appliance and a potential safety hazard in a household with three young children. I am seeking to ensure that this issue is properly documented and reviewed, as well as to prevent similar risks for other consumers.

The product, in the report: Samsung NX60A6751SS/AA is a dual zone gas range, stainless steel, standard size
Samsung NX60A6751SS is a gas range with two cooking spaces in the oven. It was purchased at Lowe’s Summer of 2024. The door never closed completely, and the stove knobs and panel would get hot enough to cause a mild burn. It was repaired in April 2025 under warrantee, but is doing the same thing, but worse. When the oven is heating the ‘door open’ indicator lights up, and the knobs and panel are too hot to even touch briefly. You can push the door to slightly close it better, but there is always a gap that allows heat to escape making the knobs too hot to touch. It is hurting us and needs to be replaced. Samsung is offering more service, but that did not remedy this situation last time and likely will not again

The product, in the report: The product involved is a Samsung freestanding gas range oven, model NX60A6711SS, with a stainless steel finish and black tempered glass oven door. The unit is a 30inch wide residential kitchen range with a 6.0 cubic foot oven capacity and multiple gas burners on the cooktop. The oven door consists of a stainless steel frame with layered tempered glass panels, including an outer black glass panel designed for heat resistance and visibility into the oven. The appliance was purchased approximately three years ago from Home Depot for normal household cooking use. The range is installed as a standard slidein / freestanding kitchen appliance between cabinets on a tiled kitchen floor.
My Samsung gas range oven door glass suddenly exploded without warning in my kitchen. The oven and stove were not in use and were turned off at the time. My mother was standing in the kitchen when the glass door shattered violently and spread thousands of pieces of tempered glass across the floor. Fortunately she was not injured, but the incident created a serious safety hazard.
The appliance is a Samsung gas range model NX60A6711SS, purchased approximately 3 years ago from Home Depot. The glass appears to have failed spontaneously without any impact or misuse.
The glass failure occurred spontaneously without any impact, misuse, or temperature change. The oven had not been used prior to the incident and was completely turned off. The sudden explosion of the tempered glass door created a dangerous condition with glass fragments spreading several feet across the kitchen floor. Because this occurred while someone was present in the kitchen, it posed a serious risk of injury from flying or falling glass.

The product, in the report: Samsung Gas/Range/Oven - Model Number - NSG6DG8700SR
Samsung oven/range model NSG6DG8700SR has a gas leak and Samsung repair is not responding urgently or at all (recently). On 1/22/2026 we smelled gas on our oven. We had previously noticed a gas smell, but assumed it was from the burner as it took a few seconds to light. This time, I checked for a gas leak using a gas detector and discovered a gas leak. The leak was on the oven at the Robert Shaw safety valve. We immediately turned the gas valve off and scheduled a repair with Samsung (Service Quick). Samsung arrived on 1/27/2026, but was unable to detect the leak using a soap bubble test. I showed the rep several times (and he confirmed) the gas detector results and even demonstrated it. The rep stated the detector was unreliable and he couldn’t help us since he was unable to detect the gas. 1/26/2026 - I called the gas utility and they confirmed the leak at the same spot and red tagged the item and said this was a safety issue. I immediately forwarded pictures of the red tag to Samsung, but they delayed their next visit until 2/4/2026. I asked for a tech with a gas detector. The next rep came out and tried to find the gas leak using a bubble soap detector and a gas detector he had, but didn’t find any. When I showed him the red tag and again demonstrated my gas detector at the exact spot, he still said it was unreliable and he couldn’t help. He said he would refer it to “Engineering Review” and that they would get back to me by the end of the day. 2/4/2026 - 2/6/2026 - I made multiple calls to Samsung / Service Quick and was told multiple times that needed 24 hours, then 24 hours more. I also called Costco technical support (where we purchased the oven) and they advised waiting. On 2/6/26, the Costco rep finally got in touch with a Samsung / Service Quick rep who said that the Engineering Review found the issue was in the gas line, not the oven based on the red tag and they wouldn’t do anything. On 2/6/2026, I also received a better gas detector that I purchased and found the gas leak at the same place and forward pictures and video to Samsung / Service Quick and Costco as further proof. On 2/9/2026, I paid [REDACTED] to check the gas connection and oven and they were able to find the leak at the same spot (oven) using a bubble test and I sent the pictures and information to Samsung / Service Quick and Costco. On 2/10/2026, the gas company again came out and provide a red tag that clearly indicated the leak was the oven (same place) and I forwarded that information to Service Quick and Costco. On 2/10/2026 I called both Costco and Samsung / Service Quick and have been told by both that a supervisor would contact me. This is a huge safety issue and I’ve been without a stove for nearly 3 weeks at this point with no resolution in sight. Samsung / Service Quick won’t even acknowledge that they have received new information and in fact said it was still under Engineering Review despite their previous verbal statement to Costco that they had refused the Engineering Review. Consequently, I’m filing this.

The product, in the report: Gas range with oven
(12/24/2025) The consumer never used the broiler prior to the incident. The consumer placed a casserole in the middle of the oven and turned the broiler on. Within a few minutes, they smell a noxious odor. The consumer’s wife opened the oven and flames from the broiler shot out the door. Luckily, the wife was not injured. The oven had only been in use for approximately 3 – 5 minutes. They immediately turned it off. Now when the consumer attempts to use the oven on the bake setting, the oven’s display starts out around 150 degrees. In some instances, the temperature will increase normally and in others, it can stay on for approximately 90 minutes and only reach a temperature of around 220 – 230 degrees. Furthermore, when the consumer tries other oven settings (convection for example), the oven will stay on for approximately 10 minutes and only increase 10 degrees. The fluctuation and lack of proper temperatures are a safety concern. There is a microwave above the stove and a cabinet above the microwave. The consumer said that in some instances, if a person attempts to operate the microwave oven or reach the cabinet above the microwave, they can accidentally brush against the range/oven’s control knobs and unknowingly turn them on. The consumer called the manufacturer and reported the matter to them, but their rep. did not offer any assistance with his issue. (03/2025) My clarification is concerning the statement regarding “calling the manufacturer.” I filed this report after calling and talking to the first customer service representative. I did not get the I was expecting or deserved, so I file the report.
I’m not sure when I contacted Samsung again; later on February 4 or the next day.
This time I talked to a representative who was more caring, understanding and realized my safety concerns. He took my concerns and comments, put me on hold and got me in touch with the “safety division.” Specialist [REDACTED] talked to me about all the issues with the range and arranged for a service company to come to my home to inspect the range. The inspection was done on February 10, 2026. Since then I have been in communication with Samsung several times about the range. [REDACTED] has informed me that the service company is coming out again to reexamine the range because Samsung wants more information. The 2nd examination will be February 17, 2026.

The product, in the report: Samsung Household Gas Oven Range - 6.0 cu ft. Smart Slide-in Gas Range with Flex Duo, Smart Dial & Air Fry in Black Stainless Steel
A certified gas technician inspected the gas range appliance in our home and advised a faulty regulator was found on the appliance and suggested we contact Samsung to repair the faulty regulator, the tech unplugged the appliance and advised us it is not safe to operate the appliance until it is fixed. I am reporting a serious safety hazard involving my Samsung gas range Model: NX60T8751SG/AA Serial: 0HFK7DDNC00511J and to document Samsungs refusal to address a potentially life threatening defect. I purchased this Samsung gas range directly from the Samsung website Aug 27, 2021, but due to a prolonged kitchen remodel, the appliance was not installed until late August/early September 2024. The unit has been used for approximately one year and only lightly. Earlier last month, the range repeatedly tripped our electrical breaker, which prompted us to move the appliance away from the wall on Saturday, 1/24/2026 to inspect the outlet. When we did so, we immediately detected a strong smell of gas behind the unit, even though the appliance had been disconnected due to the breaker issue. We contacted our gas utility company, and a certified gas technician inspected the appliance that same day. After testing, the technician informed us that the gas regulator on the Samsung range is faulty and tagged the appliance as DANGEROUS, stating that it must not be operated due to its hazardous condition that may result in property damage, personal injury or loss of life. Following this, Samsung referred me to an authorized repair company. That company informed me that I would be required to pay $140 for diagnosis, plus the cost of parts and labor to replace the faulty regulator even though the defect was confirmed by a gas company professional and poses a significant safety hazard. I contacted Samsung directly to request assistance, given that this is a manufacturing defect involving a gas leak occurring at the regulator on the opposite side of, as well as, at the gas line connector. Samsung refused to cover the cost of the regulator or any repairs, stating that the appliance is out of warranty despite its minimal use. When I asked for escalation, the representative refused and stated they would be removing all notes from the case. This situation presents a clear public safety concern: A gas leak was detected behind the appliance while it was off. A certified gas technician confirmed a faulty regulator. The appliance was officially tagged as dangerous and unsafe to operate. Samsung refuses to repair or replace the defective component, even though the defect could result in serious injury or death. I am requesting that your agency review this matter, as the defect appears to be a manufacturing failure that poses a significant risk to consumers. I am willing to provide photographs, the gas companys documentation, the technicians findings, and any correspondence with Samsung. Thank you for your attention to this serious safety issue. I look forward to your guidance on next steps.

On September 26, 2025, I was cooking dinner using both the oven and stove top when I smelled gas. I had been cooking for about an hour when I realized a strong odor of natural gas was coming from the stove. The leak caused me to have an asthma attack, and I went to the emergency room, where I received steroids and a breathing treatment. I have the [REDACTED] report confirming the leak and medical records from that day. This poses a serious safety hazard.

Product: Slide-in gas range NX60T8751SS/AA The dial knob for the over unknowingly turned when someone walked past the range and that turned the upper oven on. We realized it was on when we smelled something burning. On opening the oven door, we saw that the wood handle of the wok that was in there was on fire. We were on our way out of the door when this happened. Had we left, this potentially could have been very dangerous. The dial knob is very sensitive to touch and turns on whenever someone tries to wipe the front of the panel. This has happened countless times. There is no safety lock or mechanism to prevent it from turning.

We purchased a freestanding gas range directly from Samsung which was delivered in June. We were remodeling our kitchen so it was not installed until late July. When I arrived home the day of the install the house was filled with gas. The fire department came and checked the line and found it was fine. The installer came and rechecked it as well and agreed with the fire department that it was fine. We called Samsung and told them about the issue and they sent a technician out. The technician checked the line and it was fine. However, when he checked the burners he found that all 5 of them were leaking gas. He took the top of the stove off and found the burners were not properly sealed, and then he started taking the rest of the stove apart and we said if you have to do all that to a new stove, we want a new stove. We told him he could finish his inspection but we want a new stove. When we called Samsung, they state that the technician report says we refused service, so his boss told him to write on his report that we refused service. I have a [REDACTED] camera in my kitchen which recorded the who visit with video and audio. Samsung refuses to replace the oven so they sent a 2nd technician out and we explained what the other technician found and he called Samsung directly and told them the unit was defective, they gave him a ticket number and said it was with the escalation team and that someone would call us in 24 -48 hours. We never got a call so I called them. They informed us that when the technician sent in his report, it too said that we refused service. We never refused service. This is a $900 investment that doesn’t work. What logical person would refuse service? I called Samsung again and they said the ticket was cancelled because we refused service, to which I told them that was a blatant lie. I have video and audio of the second visit as well. They told me I needed the gas company to come out and inspect. We did that and the Gas company RED TAGGED the unit. I called Samsung to get to the escalation team and they said that the prior escalation was cancelled and that our unit is ineligible for replacement because we refused service. I explained the entire service for the umpteenth time and they are sending another service technician. I told them I do not want anyone from the service center they have been using because they are liars and I can prove it. They issued another escalation and said that someone would call within the next 24 hours and they would arrange service. This is so ridiculous and I need someone to help me get this resolved.

We have a Samsung gas stove. The electrical version of the stove we have has an active recall on it due to the knobs being too easy to turn. In June we came home and three burners were on (you can see the flames). Our dogs are able to press/turn the knobs. And it is a huge concern as we were not home and three burners were completely on. The knobs are so easy to move. We tried buying plastic puppy/baby proof protectors and none fit due to the construction of the knobs. Model number is NX60T8751ss. The serial number is 0HFL7DDNC00564F. We have contacted Samsung multiple times and they will not help or do anything about it. They just told us keep dogs out of the kitchen essentially and that gas stoves are not included in their current recall.

The product, in the report: Product: Samsung Gas Range with Wi-Fi Model Number: NX60A6751SS/AA Serial Number: 0JE57AX100725 Purchased from: BrandsMart USA Purchase Date: June 30, 2024 Description: Freestanding gas range with Wi-Fi capability, stainless steel finish, 5-burner cooktop, model includes front-right burner with known gas regulator issue.
Description of what happened:
I am escalating this again for the second time.
This is a formal update to my prior CPSC report [REDACTED] regarding my defective Samsung Gas Range.
After my original report, Samsung and BrandsMart began responding through public statements and [REDACTED] responses.
Both companies are now falsely claiming that my range is “out of warranty,” which is not true. Facts: My first Samsung Gas Range was purchased on June 17, 2024. That unit had major defects and was exchanged by BrandsMart for a replacement unit on June 30, 2024 (under their exchange policy). The current unit developed a gas leak from the top-right burner, and Samsungs own technician documented a damaged regulator on 9/25/2024. This is unrelated to a previous isolated fire event that occurred on the left side of the unit. The gas leak from the right side was dangerous, verified by Samsung technician records. Despite this, Samsung is now attempting to force a pro-rated repair and BrandsMart falsely posted to the [REDACTED] that my range is “out of warranty.” I have attached and submitted the valid purchase receipt multiple times. I am escalating this matter to the CPSC because Samsung and BrandsMart are attempting to avoid a complete warranty replacement of a unit with a verified dangerous gas leak that has been on record since last year, while publicly making false warranty statements about my case.

We have a Samsung range model NX60A6311SS/AA. After just one year of use, the handle broke and it started making unusual noises. The noise has been ongoing, but we assumed it was a settings issue and did not report it at the time However, recently, a serious safety hazard occurred. The oven turned on by itself and began heating without any operation or input (this was around 1.5 years into use).. It started to smoke and burned items that were stored inside. Fortunately, we were home and were able to cut the power in time. Had no one been home, it could have easily caused a fire. This incident has made us feel that this oven is no longer safe to use.

Both cases involve long-standing manufacturer-related failures that have led to unaddressed safety risks, denied service, and unresolved consumer loss. This report is being submitted to Samsung Corporate Escalation and BrandsMart USA Executive Services, and a copy is being sent to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for review and regulatory purposes. 1. Samsung Gas Range Gas Leak & Unsafe Defect (Independent of Fire) Model: NX60A6751SS/AA Serial Number: 0JE57DAX100725 Incident Summary: A cooking fire occurred in 2024 on the left-front burner of this unit. I accept full responsibility for that event and am not requesting warranty coverage for fire damage. However, after the fire, a persistent gas leak was discovered coming from the front-right burner, which was not involved in the fire. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that this burner’s control knob was bent at delivery. I initially assumed the bend was cosmetic and not safety-related, as there were no warnings, documentation, or guidance to indicate otherwise. Following the fire, I began smelling gas regularly in the kitchen, specifically from the right side of the range. I reported this to Samsung, and a technician was dispatched on August 23, 2024. The technician confirmed that: - The gas leak was real, and - The leak originated from the bent knob and its associated gas valve or burner cup, not from the side that experienced fire. Despite this technician-confirmed defect, my complaint was denied. BrandsMarts office manager verbally informed me that the entire unit was voided of coverage due to the fire, and no effort was made by either party to address the independent gas leak. I have lived in this home with a gas leak for months, unaware of the risk. As a full-time student, I could not afford private repairs. Despite clear evidence that the bent knob was a manufacturer-originating defect, no remedy was offered, and my safety concern remains unaddressed. [REDACTED]

To Whom It May Concern,
I am submitting this incident report to formally document two unresolved product defects involving Samsung appliances sold through BrandsMart USA.
1. Samsung Gas Range Gas Leak & Unsafe Defect (Independent of Fire) Model: NX60A6751SS/AA
Serial Number: 0JE57DAX100725
Incident Summary: A cooking fire occurred on the left front burner of this unit in 2024. I accept full responsibility for that event and am not requesting warranty coverage for fire damage. However, after the fire, a persistent gas leak was discovered from the front-right burner, which was not involved in the fire.
BrandsMarts office manager verbally informed me that the entire unit was voided of coverage due to the fire, and neither party made an effort to address the independent gas leak.
I have lived in this home with a gas leak for months, unaware of the risk. As a full-time student, I could not afford private repairs. Despite clear evidence that the bent knob was a manufacturer-originating defect, no remedy was offered, and my safety concern remains unaddressed.

Request for Action: I respectfully request that regulatory and corporate stakeholders review the following: 1. Independent investigation into the gas leak originating from the right burner of the Samsung range, which was not involved in the fire event. 2. Documentation of Samsungs failure to complete refrigerator repair requests within the warranty coverage period. 3. Formal acknowledgment that both units were delivered in a defective state and not caused by consumer misuse. 4. Corporate response outlining Samsungs position, accountability plan, and whether compensation or replacement will be issued.
All service reports, photos, serial numbers, complaint documentation, and email records are available upon request.

Dear Office Of the President I hope this message finds you well. My name is [REDACTED], and I am reaching out to address a troubling situation concerning my Samsung appliance, specifically the Wi-Fi range with the model number NX60A6751SS/AA and serial number 0JE57AX100725. I have been a loyal Samsung customer for many years, consistently choosing your products for their quality and reliability. However, I am deeply concerned about my recent experience with this particular unit, purchased on June 30, 2024.
The primary issue concerns a significant safety incident while my children were cooking hot dogs. A fire ignited on the left side of the burner, and my microwave was on top of the range, creating an extremely hazardous situation in my kitchen. Thankfully, nothing more serious happened, but this event raised crucial safety concerns that I believe warrant immediate attention from Samsung.
Upon discovering the fire, I quickly contacted Samsungs customer service, as the appliance is still covered by the manufacturers warranty. A technician was dispatched to assess the damage on August 23, 2024. During this appointment, several photographs were taken to document the condition of my appliance, and I have attached a copy of the work order as Exhibit A for your review.
Following my initial communication, I became increasingly frustrated by the lack of follow-up regarding my case. When I reached out again, I was informed that another technician would be sent for further assessment. While my main concern remains the left burner where the fire started, I have also noticed alarming issues on the right side of the range. Specifically, one of the regulators appears slightly bent, leading to gas leaking throughout my home when activated. The initial technician noted this damage and suggested that the back right burner component possibly caused the gas leak.
To my disappointment, my initial warranty claim was denied without prior notification, which I found unacceptable. While I did receive a follow-up from Samsung, it only compounded my concerns about the lack of engagement from your customer service team. Upon further inquiries, I was informed that my claims had been rejected. I expressed my concerns regarding the potential dangers posed by the bent regulator and the gas leak, prompting the dispatch of yet another technician. This technician identified that the issue stemmed not from the regulator but from the gas valve on the back right burner cup cap head, which also releases gas. He assured me he would order the necessary replacement parts; however, I have yet to receive any updates on this situation.
I am incredibly dissatisfied with how my case has been handled thus far. The absence of effective communication regarding my case number and the overall experience with your customer service has been disappointing, particularly given the serious safety risks related to a gas leak from either the damaged valve or regulator on the right side of the range, which is free from fire damage.
Given the alarming effects of this situation, I would like to escalate this case to the president’s office for further assistance. I have not used the unit frequently, yet this incident has left me profoundly unsettled. For your reference, I will attach copies of the service orders from the two technicians, along with photographs illustrating the fire damage and the identified issues contributing to the gas leak on the right side of my unit.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this critical matter. I look forward to your swift response.
Sincerely, [REDACTED]

The exterior glass on the oven door of our Samsung range (model NX60BG8315SSAA, purchased from Samsung Direct) is completely broken after regular use, just one day and one year after the item was delivered. There is broken glass shards everywhere.
Thankfully, no one has been hurt so far from the broken glass or damaged door. Since there are small pieces of tempered glass which continue to fall, I am extremely concerned for my family’s safety and inclined not to repair or repurchase these products. The oven glass breaking seems to be a known issue from other posts, particularly one year or so after purchase (when the warranty is void). They also seem to have a larger issue with exploding glass for other appliances (e.g., washer and dryer). Some community posts- [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Product Name: Samsung Bespoke 6.0 cu. ft. Smart Slide-In Gas Range with Air Fry and Convection Model Number: NX60CB831512AA Color: White Glass Size/Dimensions: Standard slide-in range; approximately 30 inches wide Purpose: Residential kitchen appliance used for cooking and baking, featuring gas stovetop burners and a gas convection oven. This is a gas-powered range intended for everyday home use. It includes four burners and a central griddle, a digital control panel, and features like Air Fry and SmartThings connectivity.
Im reporting a safety issue with my Samsung gas stove (model NX60CB831512AA). After only two years of regular use, the gas line disconnected from the front burner knob. This is extremely dangerous, had I not caught it in time, it could have caused a gas leak or even a fire in my home.
Whats even more concerning is that Samsung didnt treat it seriously. I reached out, and at first, they promised to repair it for free because of the risk. Then they completely denied ever saying that and refused to cover the repair. I had to pay out of pocket just to get it diagnosed.
This kind of failure should not be happening in a major kitchen appliance, and Im very worried that others may experience the same thing without warning. I truly hope this gets looked into before someone gets hurt.

I bought a Samsung gas stove, model NX60A6315SS / AP a year and a half ago, it began to turn on by itself and turned off, until the oven turned on without anyone having touched it and there was no way to turn it off, if I had not been home the whole house would have burned down and my pets or myself would have died. I called Samsung and they told me that it was no longer under warranty, they sent a technician, he told me that it was useless that the main board and the membrane were damaged, that was on February 12, 2025, and no one has answered me yet, the parts have not arrived they say, and Samsung does not want to respond for a defect that is definitely from the stove. This stove is dangerous to have in a home, I understand it is a factory defect and they do not want to respond

I found our Samsung gas cooktop running a burner igniter at high speed. In this case the gas does not seem to have been on, but in a previous incident the burner was lit with the igniter running. Food had apparently been left on the stove and a dog jumped up to get the food, turning on the stove in the process. Model # NA36N7755TS. I tested the knob and a slight amount of pressure directed downward and sideways is sufficient to turn the knob. Nothing prevents the knob from passing the igniter and turning on the gas without a flame, although I have not seen this condition.

It seems that this series of gas ranges allow the oven to be started by simply depressing the central control knob 3 times, bypassing the need to actually select the “start” button. We have started it a number of times by accident by opening the door and bumping it 2x or by bumping it 3 times. Something any child or animal can do as well as my backside. The Lock function is available but is wrong solution as it must be done every time, shuts whole unit down (including cooktop) and locks door, and is overkill solution. Starting oven should only happen by selecting the separate start button, this would solve issue immediately. In our small galley kitchen, spouse and I both have accidentally started oven when backing into the unit to access the fridge. Also, opening the door can/does mimic the first dial tap by selecting oven mode, meaning 2 taps of dial after opening the door starts the oven. Seems this could be a software firmware fix, but this issue wasn’t obvious until using it for a week or so.

I bought and installed a Samsung Range Model # NX60ASS at 11/20/2021. On 01/26/2025 Sunday around 7:00 pm, the range automatically fired up and made a lot of smoking out of the kitchen window and full of the house. Furnaturelly we came back on time and opend the oven door and all window to let the smoking out. No damage to person or furnatures, just a plastic basket we put in the oven and 3 knobs of the range melted down. Other two time incidents happened but just pepe sound and small smoking. We take off the electricity of power to this range and just use match to light up the top burner to cook. Samsung send a repair person on 02/04/2025. He just reported to see the plastic residue and told me that Samsung would send a new range to replace it. Then I received an email from SamSung which said it is not a mechanical problem and is not in the warranty limit and just close the case. I think it’s a big product safety problem and require your office to investigate this problem. Thanks!

The product, in the report: I have a Samsung gas stove bought in 2020. This is the stove that you lean up against and the gas just keeps flowing if the knob is slightly turned any which way. The second item is the dishwasher purchased at the same time where the leak sensor won’t let the motor stop if it detects moisture in the washer. When I got home, it was completely dry and started smoking because it was running for so long.
I bought 3 Samsung kitchen appliances from Best Buy. The dangerous products are the gas stove which turns on anytime you lean against the knobs and lets the gas run without notice. Any child, any animal can turn this on. I came home to a house full of gas because my dog hit the stove knob when I was out shopping. The dishwasher has a defective sensor for leaking and the motor to the Samsung dishwasher did not stop running dry for over 24 hours. I came home and the dishwasher’s motor was scalding to the touch. My home could have burned down or exploded from just 2 Samsung appliances. When I reported it to them, they were not concerned about fixing or recalling them for the defective parts. They do not care if they kill or harm people. These products are less than 5 years old and all are broken and defective and are potential fire starters.

The product, in the report: SAMSUNGBespoke 30 in. 6.0 cu. ft. 5 Burner Smart Slide-In Gas Range with Air Sous Vide & Air Fry in Stainless Steel
Hello, I have a claim open with Samsung directly with a new oven (Samsung Bespoke 30 in. 6.0 cu. Ft. 5 Burner Smart Slide-In Gas Range with Air Sous Vide & Air Fry) we purchased in April through Home Depot. On Wednesday, August 7th I received a call from my mother that our house was on fire because the oven was burning. That day, my sister, boyfriend and I went to [REDACTED] and my mother was the only one home. My mother currently does not live inside the main house but on the outside unit. My mother was leaving the house when she was walking outside of the house to the front when she noticed we had received a package from the post office. So, the package didnt get stolen, my mother opened the front door to put the package inside the house and thats when she noticed the smoke coming from the kitchen. As she approached the smoke, she saw that the oven was caught on fire not knowing how or what to do. She opened the oven and thats when the fire started getting bigger and coming out. My mother was so scared and afraid that she ran outside asking for help and my neighbor called the fire department. The fire department came and made a hole in the dry wall to see if it was electrical or a gas leakage and they confirmed that it wasnt. After they left, my mother was left with a full house full of smoke, ashes and a burned oven that she had to ask a neighbor for help to take outside. We contacted the Home Depot [REDACTED] Warranty because thats the extended warranty we had, and they directed us to Samsung directly since we were still under the 1-year manufacturing warranty. Since then, Ive been going back and forth with Samsung regarding my oven and have been unsuccessful. Ive lost count of how many representatives Ive spoken to and how many technicians have come to my house to review the unit, needless to say its been circus. Ive spoken to so many representatives from customer service to specialty claims departments and have had the worst experience. Please help.
Thank You,

4/1/2024: The burners can be turned to a low setting, and they may spontaneously jump to a high setting. The setting burner’s settings range between 2 & 9. The problem happens with the burners every single time the oven is used. The oven door also is no longer secured to the oven and cannot be opened correctly.
The surface of the range burners is black, and the user may not know that they’ve changed to the high setting. The adult consumer said that she has burned her hands, fingers, and wrist multiple times, because the surface of the burners where higher than they were set to. She also said that anything which gets near those burners can become extremely hot and burn, and numerous items have been burned because of this issue. She went on to say she has burned her fingers at least 10 different times. She’s treated all her injuries at home.
9/19/2024: The consumer called the manufacturer and reported her issues. She was told to contact a local technician to work on it. The consumer called several technicians in her area, but none of them were willing to work on this manufacturer’s brand of stove.
At one point, the company offered sell the consumer a “burner control panel” for around $600, but she declined.
The large burners are on the front of the range. If children walked up and put their fingers on the stove, they will definitely get burned and could lose their fingers.

The product, in the report: Samsung Household Gas Oven Range. Model number NX58H5600SS/AA; Manufacture/Fabrication July-2014; S/N 0BGG7DDF702621W
My Samsung Gas Stove model number NX58H5600SS/AA Serial 0BGGyDDF70261W purchased in 2015 have defective knobs. The knobs on the appliance can be accidentally activated . The knobs do not lock in place and do not have to be pushed in with pressure to activate.. There is practically no pressure needed to activate the knob. My husband activated the knob by reaching up in the cabinet above the stove to get something not knowing he bumped the know activating it. We left the home and when we returned, our house was full of gas because the burner was slightly turned on with no flame. I know there is a recall for this same issue being reported for the electric ranges but not for my particular range that has the same problem. Note, this is not a gas issue, it is a knob issue. Samsung informed me my model was not part of the recall. I would like to report that the recall issue is also with the gas ranges. We are very lucky our house did not blow up due to gas pouring through the burner because the knob was only slightly turned. The fire department told us we were very lucky nobody was killed or injured when entering our home in this incident. Samsung would not help with replacement my knobs or providing me locks for my range because it is not part of the current recall. When the incident occurred, I immediately put on child safety covers over the burners. This should not be a solution. Samsung needs to correct this issue on all ranges. This is very serious!

I have a Samsung gas slide in range (model NX58R9421SS & manufacture date June 2020) which exhibits the same symptoms as the current recall (24-335) on Samsung Electric slide in stoves; however mine is a gas model which is not included in the recall. On many occasions over the last several years of ownership of this range we have inadvertently bumped the front knobs and the gas turns on; sometimes the burner lights and sometimes it just emits gas; which also create an explosion risk if it’s not immediately noticed. The burner knobs turn very easily with only a small amount of contact; which happens easily when they are protruding from the front of the stove. I tried to contact Samsung under the existing recall and they told me I would have to purchase the locking knobs since my model is not covered by the recall.

The product, in the report: Samsung Household Gas Oven Range Model #NX58M6630SG/AA
Our greyhound dog turned on Samsung gas stove flame on two different occasions by pressing the stove knob by putting her paws up on the stove. First time was when we brought her home for the first time on January 6, 2024. She turned on the flame again a week later. We then bought universal size stove knob guards that do not fit the Samsung knobs. I looked for information on how to make the stove childproof/pet proof but found nothing helpful. We ended up taking off the stove knobs and fencing off our kitchen so that the dog could not turn on the stove again. I understand that Samsung is recalling its electric stoves because they are not pet or child safe. The gas stoves have the same problem and should also be recalled.

The product, in the report: gas range with oven
The consumer and his family have accidentally turned on the range burner control knobs, on multiple occasions.
One time, he left home and returned to find that one of the burners had been on more than 3 hours.
Several items (2 measuring cups & 1 spatula) have been burned on different instances, when they were left on the range and the burner’s controls were unknowingly turned on.
Once the consumer saw CPSC Recall# 24-335, he contacted the manufacturer, and they agreed to provide the remedy.
One recall remedy option is a plastic lock that is clicked on, and a person must remember to put it back on after they finish cooking.
The other remedy option is a large plastic cover that is applied to the range with double sided tape. People can then open the cover and turn the range burner’s control knob on and close the cover back, when finished.
The consumer said this is even more concerning, because he’s even turned the range on, left the house and returned find that his burner was on.

On multiple occasions, I have unintentionally turned the knob to the on position on our Samsung gas stove. Sometimes it is only on enough to where gas is being released, others it is turned enough to release gas and start the igniter. The burner has produced fire some of the times the igniter was started. This happens quite often by simply bumping into or leaning on the knob. It has also happened with our teenagers. If the igniter is not started, there is no sound and natural gas is released into our home until the knob is turned to the off position. The only reason we know it is happening is the blue light that comes on around the knob. If this ever happens when there is no electricity, such as during natural disasters or other power outages, we may not be aware that natural gas is being released in our home. This could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, fire, and death. So far we have been lucky and noticed when the stove has been turned on unintentionally and no injuries have occurred.

The product, in the report: Samsung Gas Slide-in Range, black, model NX58M9420SS/AA
The recently announced recall on [REDACTED] electric ranges with front-mounted control knobs [REDACTED] should include gas models as well. I have had a Samsung gas range (model NX58M9420S) for 6 years, and we frequently accidentally turn burners on or, worse, turn the gas on without it being ignited, just by bumping the front-mounted knobs. The knobs appear to have the same design as those on the electric models. The knobs barely have to be depressed inward before they can be rotated to the ON position, making it very easy to unintentionally turn the gas on to a burner with a slight bump of the knob. While this has not resulted in a fire or injury in my home, I see no reason the current recall should be limited only to the electric models when the same issue exists on the gas models.

I saw the recent recall of Samsung electric ranges that can be turned on by accidental contact (https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2024/Samsung-Recalls-Slide-In-Electric-Ranges-Due-to-Fire-Hazard). I have a gas version of this range that has the same knob placement. It was recently accidentally ignited by one of my cats when they jumped on the stove and landed on one of the knobs, causing it to be turned on with a large unattended flame. I happened to be home at the time and heard it ignite, otherwise it would have been unattended and a severe risk.

I purchased a Samsung oven range less than a year ago and this past weekend, my carbon monoxide detector went off. The fire department came and took readings, finding that the whole house was at 80-90ppm. They blew the house out and the house was fine. I turned the oven back on and then an hour later, the carbon monoxide detector went off again. The fire department came to my home a second time and determined that the oven was the cause and it was deemed unsafe. I have contacted Samsung and requested service since my range is still under warranty and they refuse to assist.

Samsung oven that I previously reported that allowed Gas to fill Home report # [REDACTED] Oven Model NX58J5600SG/AA We had Samsung send a Tech out to check the oven due to our concerns about an unsafe appliance -We explained that My Wife turned the oven on to preheat but it did not light but allowed gas to fill the home- He pulled it out checked connections at the rear even though I told him it was when the oven was turned on that the Igniter got hot but not enough to light and allowed the gas valve to open, He said that could never happen and tried to tell me that I was smelling something in the oven or heat, told him again that there was nothing in the oven and it was not lit! he turned it on to preheat and watched as it took at least twenty two min to reach 350 Deg. I said there’s no way it should take that long and you could hear the flame fluttering, the gas valve was not fully open! He took out a gas sniffer meter and said there is no gas leaking and there’s no reason to change the igniter because it lit, gave us a Bill for $127. and left. We were fearful of using this oven and didn’t until I purchased an Igniter online installed it Myself and turned on the oven, it took less than 5 min to reach 350- was more then 20 when the expert checked but said it was fine! There has been no more gas smell the gas valve fully opens and it’s working fine again. I would never buy another Samsung after having one malfunction and their Tech’s give a bad diagnoses then say it’s fine.

My wife turned on the oven it’s a Samsung Model NX58J5600SG/AA and it obviously did not light and the house filled with gas, this should never happen the valve should never allow gas when the igniter is not hot enough for ignition. My wife has smell issues and had I not came into the home when I did there could have been a Huge disaster. Just notified Samsung and they want me to pay for a repair

The product, in the report: Gas oven range
The consumer indicates that he used a pan to cook in his front and left burner. Approximately two minutes later, the cover of the burner caught fire and he had to use a fire extinguisher to extinguish it. The consumer notes that the same incident occurred with the same burner three days later.
The consumer states that, prior to the incident, he used both his cooktop and oven range approximately 5 times per week.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Residential Gas Oven/Cooktop, 5 burner configuration for the cooktop.
Gas Cookstove burner flame adjuster knob broke in a manner which left the gas flowing, and the knob would no longer engage to the valve shaft with enough force to turn off the gas which had not yet been ignited by the electronic ignition. Without hesitation, I had my family evacuate the house, and I rushed out to my gas meter and shut off gas at the main gas shutoff valve. The Cookstove’s knob is plastic. The plastic fractured . Due to the position and nature of the fracture, the knob could no longer remain firmly attached to the metal shaft which protrudes from the cookstove. For an individual who would not be able to quickly evaluate and assess the circumstances, this could have been disastrous. Gas flowing, no flame other than perhaps at an adjacent properly functioning burner -- broken knob which can’t turn off the gas at the burner -- recipe for a disaster. In my opinion, these knobs should be replaced with something more durable than plastic.

The product, in the report: Range
The super burner on the consumer’s Samsung range is a fire hazard. The super burner is welded together prohibiting one from cleaning the grease out of the trap. The grease gets full and overflows making the stove a fire hazard. The grease and oil is burnt on the super burner rock hard with a layer of grease on top. The consumer tried to clean the stove like she has done for years. The trap cannot be opened, emptied or cleaned. A technician from Samsung visited the consumer’s home and took the entire stove apart. He sucked out some of the liquid grease but a lot of it is pasted and burnt on and requires that one opens and clean the trap. The super burner is welded shut and can’t be opened. The technician tried to clean the grease out with a screwdriver covered with a paper towel. If the grease does not get removed or if the super burner is not replaced with a burner that can be opened and cleaned, it poses a fire hazard.
(6/14/2024) This product needs a newly designed super burner that can be opened to clean or a product design that provides new super burners to customers at no charge every quarter to avoid fire! The consumer reports an extreme, large burner fire.

The product, in the report: Samsung 58 Cu Ft Freestanding Gas Range Stainless steel Model: NX58K3310SS bought it at Best Buy
I have a Samsung Stove, purchased a couple of years ago now. I had a gas leak back in July 2023 had to have the gas company come out to detect where the leak was coming from. Turns out it was coming from the one of the burners on the stove. Called an appliance company, and they replaced the one front right burner on the stove, then turned the gas back on, and tested again. There was no more leaking gas, back to normal. More recently, in April 2024, I had another gas leak, the gas company came out, tested for gas, and determined it was again a gas leak coming from the stove; but this time the front two burners were leaking gas. I have decided to get rid of the stove after calling Samsung and getting no answers.
