The product, in the report: Frigidaire 36 in. 26 cu. ft. Standard Depth Side by Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel
On October 11, 2026, the exact same day it was delivered, we experienced a severe electrical explosion while using a new Frigidaire refrigerator (Model #FRSS2623AS). When the ice dispenser was engaged for the very first time, a loud explosion occurred inside the door assembly, shooting a shower of electrical sparks outward into the kitchen. The discharge was intense enough that hot embers floated down around the user, presenting an immediate fire hazard to the person and the surrounding combustible kitchen environment. Afterward, the ice dispenser completely failed and lost power, though the internal ice maker continued running. The defective unit was subsequently retrieved by the retailer (The Home Depot) during a replacement exchange. I am reporting this because the dispenser’s internal wiring or component failure represents a catastrophic fire and safety hazard to the public that warrants investigation.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gallery 9 can mini fridge with make up mirror and ring light. Unit dimensions are 7.16’(W) x 11.65”(D) x 10.35”(H)
A Frigidaire Gallery 9 can mini personal refrigerator malfunctioned and burned beyond recognition. The product was plugged directly to an outlet, no extension cords. There was nobody present at the time of the incident, the fridge was sitting in a metal building on the concrete floor, the neighbor smelled something hot and noticed smoke and then called the fire department. The fire department showed up and investigated the problem, no injuries.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire French door, bottom freezer refrigerator.
Woke up at 1:40 am. CST to the sound of poping and electrical arcing. I got up to investigate and smelled a strong odor consistent with electrical components burning. There was heavy smoke present from behind the refrigerator. I turned power off to the electical circuit at the breaker panel and pulled the refrigerator from the wall. I did not immediately observe anything out of the ordinary, but did detect a strong electrical odor emitting from the bottom of the unit. I removed the rear metal compressor/fan cover to observe the fan, condenser and coils. I observed a deformity in the compressor inverter box. I removed the acces cover and noticed charred wires with two conductors completely severed from the unit due to excessive heating. To ensure no extension or further hazard, I removed the control box from the unit and found there to be significant heat damage consistent with an active flame. (As a note, I am i certified firefighter and Arson Investigator)

The product, in the report: Gallery 22.3-cu ft Counter-Depth 36-in Wide Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Ice Maker Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel ) ENERGY STAR Certified. Item #3649465 Model #GRSC2352AF
On April 18 2026, my elderly mother [REDACTED] asked me to purchase a refrigerator. We then placed an online order (Order #[REDACTED]) for the gallery side by side fridge I Model #GRSC2352AF). Since April, we had to contact the manufacturer-frigidaire twice for the same issue wherein the refrigerator made a large abnormal sound and failed to uphold the set temperatures. The manufacturer then contacted a company named “[REDACTED]” to come out in May 2026 and again in September 2026 to service a failing refrigerator and both instances they had to replace “Motor evaporator fan and fan plate”. As a result my parents have experienced spoiled food losses total in excess of over $1000. I called frigidaire and asked to speak with a supervisor or resolution team and all i was told is that they would fill out a form and contact me after 24 hours. This is a Model GRSC2352AF, Item #3649465 that has suffered two major cooling failures within the first 6 months of ownership. My mother is demanding a corporate buyback(refund) or brand new replacement unit, not another repair.

The product, in the report: This is a Frigidaire stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator freezer with what they call their slim design ice maker. The model number is FGSS2365TF1
I have a Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator with a slim icemaker that the company had to issue an involuntary recall I believe because parts within their ice bucket were breaking off, causing people to ingest sharp plastic and receive lacerations and injuries because of it. I was not notified of the recall by Frigidaire, I only contacted them once the plastic shards were found within a beverage glass that I was drinking from. They replaced it, however, now the replacement part has had the exact same problem that the original part had. Their recalled replacement part has the exact same problem that the recall was issued for. I have contacted them and asked for a new replacement and they have refuse saying they only provide one, even if its the exact same failure.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gallery Stainless steel with a bottom freezer and double fridge doors up top.
We purchased a Frigidaire Gallery GRFN2853 AFC refrigerator on 02/20/2025. 18months after purchase, the fridge would not cool anything down inside. We had a tech from the community come out and they found where the flammable gas line (refrigerant) failed and started a small fire internally damaging the line, board, coils and the housing surrounding all the the internal equipment. Frigidaire wants to charge us 350.00 to have their tech come out. This is a catastrophic failure. They keep hiding behind their 1 year warranty. However, that warranty is for regular issues, not catastrophic failures. The Louisiana redhibition law requires a 2 year warranty for catastrophic failures. They will not compromise, refund or comply with state laws. There has been no effort by Frigidaire in any way, shape or form to remedy the issue. Even just a manufacturer’s willingness to try and accommodate any portion of our food loss, dorm fridge (emergency after this one failed) Has been met with essentially too bad. This is terrible. A company would rather go to court than fix, repair, or refund a customer. They feel we are too poor to hire an attorney and stay in the fight for what’s right. Please do not Frigidaire products. We almost lost our home because a shady company has shady practices.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Refrigerator/Freezer Model No. FRTE1936AS
The Frigidaire/Electrolux refrigerator model No. FRTE1936AS does not keep consistent food safe temperatures even on the coldest setting and even when it is brand new. The model needs recalled and the manufacturer needs to be forced to issue refunds. No spoilable food can be stored in the refrigerator portion or it will spoil and cause illness and/or food poisoning. The design of this model is faulty and dangerous because it isn’t filling the fridge portion with enough coolant for the size of the fridge to keep the food consistently within food safe temperatures, nor does it cool the fridge portion down fast enough after its been opened.

The product, in the report: The product is a Frigidaire fridge model number FRSS2623ASN. It is silver and is a side by side unit with an ice and water dispenser.
My frigidaire refrigerator - model number FRSS2623ASN - stopped cooling 4 days ago. I made the purchase 5 months ago. All my food has gone bad and have lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. Additionally I have a child in my household. I booked an appointment with THEIR service provider since this is covered under warranty and they placed me with a company that moved my appointment to 72 hours later than the original appointment I needed. I had to call frigidaire directly and get a list of service providers that were mostly reported to the [REDACTED]. The last one they offered was able to give me the appointment I needed, however, they came in and said they needed a replacement part so I have to wait longer. The service provided under warranty coverage is poor and this is incredibly unsafe. I paid for a brand new fridge that now I cannot use.

I purchased a small refrigerator from Walmart and in less than 15 days there was a strange humming sound. I double check to make sure it was level and went to bed. The next morning my kitchen was so hot it almost hurt to walk in . The compressor was so overheated it began to cave in on itself . The entire thing was hot to touch and unplugged .

The product, in the report: Fridgedaire Fridge 7.5 c ft fridgedaire fridge EFR780-6COM
I bought a Fridgedaire small fridge from Walmart. This product is handled by Curtis International out of Canada. This fridge was purchased for my home that I am often not in because of taking care of a sick relative in another state. This fridge was plugged into a place in which a much larger fridge had previously been plugged. The “new” fridge was constantly causing the electricity in my home to flip. I thought it was finally stable as it did not flip for a few weeks. I left home and while I was gone it flipped again. I came home to all of the food destroyed, a bug problem and since it also flipped my security camera, I had all of this time without any knowledge of what was going on at my home. I tried to return the fridge to walmart but they would not accept it and said I had to contact Fridgedaire. I contacted fridgedaire and they said I had to contact Curits International. i did so and they said after now, 5 months of dealing with them, that they would cover it under warranty with some photos. I sent the photos, but after doing so, they changed the requirements for the photos. They said they had to be close up shots of a cut cord and they had to be zoomable. This was not part of the original requirements. I had someone go specifically to my house to take the photos. Now they want more photos. I just want my $214 back. They are free to take the fridge or allow me to take it to Walmart. This has proven too burdensome for a $241 purchase and I am not even at home.

On Saturday May 30, 2026 [REDACTED]Fire District companies were dispatched to a medical facility for multiple smoke detector activations and a water flow alarm. Units arrived to find the building being evacuated and smoke visible inside. Firefighters quickly located a fire on the first floor that was being held in check by the building’s automatic sprinkler system. Crews completed extinguishment efforts. Investigation determined that the cause was a Frigidaire-brand Minifridge. This product is already subject to a recall via your agency, but it was recommended that I report this due to the potential high dollar loss (possible over $1M)

Hurt, no treatment Made May 13, 2026, sent to the company May 18, 2026, published by CPSC Jun 2, 2026
The product, in the report: Product Type: Refrigerator/Freezer Brand: Frigidaire Model: FPFU19F8WF Serial: BB21000626 Purchase Date: October 3, 2022 Retailer: Livingood’s Inc., Ridgeland, SC
On April 15, 2026, an authorized Frigidaire/Electrolux service technician ([REDACTED], [REDACTED], Ticket #[REDACTED], Case #[REDACTED]) inspected my Frigidaire Professional column freezer (FPFU19F8WF, Serial BB21000626) and declared it unrepairable due to an internal leak. During the inspection I personally observed a yellow/off-white substance leaking throughout the internal components consistent with refrigerant contamination a substance the technician stated he had never seen before. The technician called Electrolux directly from my home to document the failure and stated plainly: “There is no way to fix an internal leak.” Since the failure, the unit has been emitting strong chemical fumes consistent with refrigerant contamination throughout my home. My husband, a licensed registered nurse, has assessed these fumes as toxic and dangerous, particularly to our minor children who reside in the home. Extensive mold growth has developed throughout the interior of the unit including dark fungal colonies and widespread white mold bloom across all interior surfaces, documented in photographs. The unit is built into a framed wall enclosure and cannot be removed without a licensed contractor, meaning the toxic fumes and mold cannot be mitigated without professional intervention. We have been unable to eliminate our children’s exposure to these fumes as a result. This is not an isolated failure. The matching Frigidaire Professional refrigerator (FPRU19F8WF, Serial BA21012112), purchased on the same invoice as a matched integrated set with a Frigidaire-supplied TwinsPairKit and Trim Kit, has experienced repeated failures since purchase in October 2022 including water filter leaks, cracked water line tubing, and recurring malfunctions. A professional builder has assessed that the refrigerator leak directly caused the freezer damage and has confirmed his willingness to testify to this finding. Electrolux/Frigidaire was formally notified of the toxic fumes and child safety hazard on April 30, 2026 and has failed to take any remedial action. I have filed a formal demand for full replacement of both units. Electrolux’s only offer has been a 40% rebate conditioned on my purchasing a new unit upfront and disposing of the defective unit which I cannot do while an insurance adjuster and contractor assessment are pending. The chemical fumes from this refrigerant leak represent an ongoing health and safety hazard to minor children in my home. I am requesting that the CPSC investigate this product for a potential safety defect. The product, in the report: Frigidaire Refrigerator with built in ice maker. MN FGHD2368TF7 SN 4A94805286 Manufacture Date 12/2019
I am writing to report a serious safety issue with my Frigidaire refrigerators ice dispenser.
The ice dispenser is producing visible pieces of plastic mixed in with the ice. This presents a clear choking and injury hazard. I have already checked the published recall lists and do not see my specific model included; however, the symptoms match known issues involving ice bucket or dispenser component failures. MN FGHD2368TF7 SN 4A94805286
I contacted Frigidaire but they are not doing anything about it. This issue seems similar to other models on their recall lists and similar manufacture date.

I notified Frigidaire last month of my ice bucket having pieces break off into my ice and subsequently rusting causing dangerous contamination of my family’s drinking water. I was told through the Frigidaire chat feature that I could buy new parts but Frigidaire would not replace the item. I am aware there are several models with recalls on the ice makers for this reason. I requested to speak with a manager because the issue is clearly a manufacturer defect which could result in bodily harm. However, the chat rep repeatedly refused to allow me to speak with any other representative.

The product, in the report: This is a white full size standing refrigerator in the kitchen of a mobile home. It has a freezer and refrigerator component.
We helped our daughter buy a refrigerator back in 2024 in August. It was delivered and put in her mobile home in September of 2024. Yesterday she noticed that the refrigerator by Frigidaire was warm in the freezer part and warm in the Refrigerated part. Unfortunately she realized she ate food from it the night before. So she was very sick with food poisoning symptoms The following day which was the 29th of January. She threw out all of the food and called me on the phone. I told her I could work on seeing if there was a warranty on Friday the 30th. 12:30 AM on the 29th she called me and said she smelled smoke. We contacted the fire department and they did a wellness check to see what could be the problem. They Unplug the refrigerator and checked her smoke alarms. They were concerned it was the refrigerator. Later in the day on Friday I contacted Frigidaire. They told me there was no warranty but immediately told me how they could service it for $335 covering parts labor and a 60 day guarantee. I told them I was not happy with the situation and they did give me a 20% discount and I paid ahead of time for the service. They told me they would send someone out on Monday or Tuesday the following week and they would call me in about an hour. That did happen and I spoke with the serviceman to pick a better date which was Tuesday up next week. He told me he is well aware of what the problem could be. He said he already handled 177 cases of the same problem with the same model serial number. He said he would bet me that it’s the defrost timer melting inside. He also said that might have been the smell my daughter smelled. He said it’s very cheap to replace defrost Timers. I told him the quote that I paid and he said he could have done it for much cheaper as a single service person. My concern is that he knows there’s a problem and he’s been out multiple times for the same product. I cannot find a recall on this model. I wonder if you should look into it. Model # FFTR1814WWD. On 11/27/2025 (Thanksgiving Day), a piece of clear plastic from the inside ice container of my Frigidaire refrigerator, model GRSS2352AF6, fell into my wife’s drink along with some ice. Inside the ice container is a clear plastic shroud surrounding an auger mechanism that broke off and a piece from the shroud ended up being dropped from the ice dispenser along with ice into her drink. Fortunately, my wife did not ingest the plastic piece. The refrigerator was only fourteen months old at time of incident.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Branded Side by Side Refrigerators with Slim Ice Buckets.
Our Frigidaire Side by Side refrigerator has had ice making issues since we purchased it. The ice bunches up and eventually breaks the ice bin. This allows the possibility of broken pieces of plastic ending up in the ice and could cause a choking hazard or worse. This is a known recall issue from Frigidaire, yet our unit (which is identical looking to the recalled units) somehow doesn’t fall under the recall.

No incident, no one hurt Made Dec 12, 2025, sent to the company Dec 17, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 6, 2026
The product, in the report: Side-by-side White Frigidaire Refrigerator/Freezer from Lowe’s on February 7, 2017 . Model # FFHS2611LW, Serial # 4A64706654. [REDACTED] 72092 FFHS2611LW 798.00 FR 26-CU FT SXS REF FFHS2
This Letter Represents the Events That Occurred With the Frigidaire Refrigerator Purchased on February 7, 2017 Complainant: [REDACTED] Purchase Information On February 7, 2017, I purchased a new side-by-side Frigidaire refrigerator from Lowes. Model Number: FFHS2611LW Serial Number: 4A64706654 The refrigerator was purchased for normal residential household use. First Failure March 20, 2018 On March 20, 2018, I contacted Frigidaire/Electrolux because the refrigerator was not remaining cold and the freezer was defrosting. The repair process took several days due to the following issues: The first service technician was extremely unprofessional and hostile, making it necessary to request another service provider. A second technician was ultimately dispatched to complete the repair. Although Frigidaire extended the warranty for parts and labor at no cost, this malfunction caused significant hardship, including: Loss of food from both the refrigerator and freezer, totaling approximately $600 Lost wages due to time taken off work Additional costs for ordering food daily while the refrigerator was nonfunctional Second Failure August 2, 2018 On August 2, 2018, I again contacted Frigidaire/Electrolux because the refrigerator once more failed to remain cold. I initially contacted [REDACTED] Warranty, whose service technician stated that the refrigerator was leaking [REDACTED]. I was informed that refrigerant leaks were not covered by [REDACTED] Warranty, so I immediately contacted Frigidaire/Electrolux. At this point, I became extremely alarmed. This was the second major failure within approximately one and a half years of purchase, leading me to believe that I had been sold a defective product. Due to: Repeated food loss Lost wages Time spent disposing of spoiled food Ongoing daily food purchases I no longer wanted the refrigerator and requested a replacement, not another repair. Service Diagnosis August 6, 2018 On August 6, 2018, at approximately 1:00 p.m., [REDACTED] Appliance Service inspected the refrigerator. The technician diagnosed the problem as a failed compressor and later informed me that the part would need to be ordered. As a result: I again lost approximately $600 in food I continued purchasing food daily while awaiting resolution Following this diagnosis: I was contacted by Ms. [REDACTED] from Electrolux I emailed documentation to Electrolux and escalated the issue to: [REDACTED] After the second failure, I formally requested replacement of the refrigerator. Electrolux Response Refusal to Replace Ms. [REDACTED] contacted me at approximately 11:50 a.m. and: Offered only another repair Refused to replace the refrigerator Expressed little to no concern for: Food loss Lost wages Daily food purchases resulting from repeated failures This response was unacceptable. Ms. [REDACTED] also: Refused to allow me to speak with Mr. [REDACTED] Repeated scripted responses such as Im sorry you feel that way, despite clear factual evidence of repeated product failure I sent a detailed email escalation stating: This was the second major failure within 18 months This was not a matter of feelings, but documented malfunction No reasonable consumer would accept repeated failures of a refrigerator If this appliance were in the home of company executives, it would have been replaced immediately I emphasized that: This is no longer about warranties. This is about a product that has the inability to function beyond a year and a half. Third Event Fire Incident May 25, 2020 On Monday, May 25, 2020, at approximately 6:00 a.m., I woke up smelling something burning. After tracing the odor, I discovered it was coming from the refrigerator. At that time: My four-year-old grandson My sister And our family dog were all inside the home. I immediately: Ran to the family room and removed my grandson from the house Awakened my sister on the third floor and evacuated her and the dog Returned to the kitchen, pulled the refrigerator away from the wall, and saw flames coming from the lower rear portion of the unit Unplugged the refrigerator, stopping the fire I was unable to reach anyone at Electrolux. Using their automated system, I contacted a service provider recommended by Electrolux. Fire Damage and Unsafe Repair The service technician: Identified and replaced a burnt-out component (capacitor), which I still possess Assured me the replacement part was fire-resistant Charged $385 for the service His comments indicated that he was aware this type of failure was not rare. The refrigerator worked for one day. The following morning, it again failed to remain cold. The technician returned and stated: The compressor had been damaged due to the fire Repairs would cost an additional $400 I refused, stating that both his company and Electrolux were aware of this ongoing issue. The technician returned my check for $385 and charged only a service fee. Final Outcome On May 26, 2020, I was forced to purchase a new refrigerator at my own expense. When the new unit was delivered, I instructed the delivery personnel to place the defective Frigidaire refrigerator in my garage so it would be available if an investigation was needed. I again contacted Electrolux and again spoke with Ms. [REDACTED], receiving no assistance. I contacted the Attorney Generals Office multiple times. During follow-up attempts, I was treated dismissively and felt pressured to abandon my complaint.

The product, in the report: FridgeAire mini beverage refrigerator 9 can 5L blue
On the morning of 10/16/25 we woke to our fire/smoke alarms going off in our upstairs home at 6:10 am. We immediately went for our 2 childern to get them out of the house and my husband proceeded to look for the source while I called 911. We discovered that our mini refrigerator was on fire in our office. My husband picked it up and ran it to our nearest bathroom and threw it in the bathtub and ran the water to extinguish the fire. The fire department came to verify the fire was out and nothing electrical spread through our wall. My husband and I then cleaned all to soot from the office bathroom and hallway and proceeded to air out the entirety of our upstairs. Luckily no injuries were present except mild smoke inhalation that was not treated by the hospital. We had a mini refrigerator in our office that had nothing in it at the time but was used for beverages in the past. it was ontop of a cabinet away from to wall by 4 inches.

The product, in the report: The Frigidaire FRSS2623AW is a side-by-side French door refrigerator designed for residential kitchen use. It is manufactured by Frigidaire, a brand under Electrolux Home Products. This model is finished in white (AW = Arctic White) and features a sleek, modern exterior with recessed handles and a flat door design for a clean, built-in appearance. Type: Side-by-Side French Door Refrigerator Model Number: FRSS2623AW Color: Arctic White Total Capacity: Approximately 25.5 to 26.3 cubic feet (varies slightly by configuration) Fresh Food Section: ~16.6 cu. ft. Freezer Section: ~9.0 cu. ft. Dimensions: Height: ~69 7/8 inches (including hinges) Width: ~36 1/8 inches Depth (including door): ~35 inches Depth with door open 90: ~50 inches Water & Ice: Internal water dispenser and automatic ice maker Shelving: Adjustable glass shelves, crisper drawers, gallon door bins Lighting: LED interior lighting in both compartments Control Panel: Electronic temperature controls and digital display Defrost Type: Frost-free Power Source: Standard 115V outlet, 60Hz Purpose This appliance is intended to safely store perishable foods at regulated temperatures typically below 40F for the refrigerator compartment and at or below 0F for the freezer. It is marketed as an affordable, energy-efficient option for families and homeowners seeking a large-capacity food storage solution.
I am reporting a refrigerator that fails to maintain safe temperatures, which has led to multiple incidents of spoiled food and poses an ongoing risk to health and safety. Despite routine usage and adequate ventilation, the refrigerator compartment consistently fails to keep food at or below 40F, as recommended by the FDA for food safety. I have documented internal temperatures exceeding this limit, resulting in deteriorated produce and unsafe storage conditions for perishables. The product in question is a Frigidaire French Door Refrigerator, Model FRSS2623AW, purchased in September 2024. I am the primary user, and the appliance is used in a private residence by myself and my partner under normal conditions. A recent service visit (October 2025) involved the replacement of the damper assembly (Part #5303918899). However, this did not significantly improve the units performance, and unsafe temperature fluctuations persist. While no physical injuries have occurred so far, the persistent inability to maintain safe temperatures creates a serious risk of foodborne illness, particularly for vulnerable individuals. I have attached photographs showing food spoilage and temperature logs. I believe this product may be defective by design or manufacture and should be considered for recall investigation.

The product, in the report: Fridgidare French door refrigerator, Model #:GRMS2773AF (01), Serial #:1K42276790
My wife and I purchased a Fridgidare refrigerator in September or 2024, Model #:GRMS2773AF (01), Serial #:1K42276790. Around July of 2025 we started having trouble with the ice maker. At times it would work as it should, and at other times it would stop working for a week or two. Sometimes it would start working again after my attempt to defrost the ice maker, other times it would start working without my help. The reason for this complaint is not the poor function of the ice maker, but that several times we found small pieces of broken white plastic had been dispensed along with the ice. Besides the danger of ingesting these objects there is the obvious conclusion that something is broken within the ice maker. I understand that Fridgidare has had two previous recalls for this same problem, but our model number was not included in those recalls. The manufacturing date of our refrigerator is 5/30/2024, thus Fridgidare had ample time to have corrected this problem, but they choose not to.

The product, in the report: I purchased the Frigidaire 9-can beverage cooler (EFMIS222-BLACK) from Sam’s Club in February of last year. The product label on the listing says that it’s model # EFMIS175-BLACK, but the manufacturer says that it is actually EFMIS222-BLACK.
My son had the Frigidaire 9-can beverage cooler (model EFMIS222-BLACK) that I purchased from Sam’s Club last year. It caught on fire on 8/27/25. My son wasn’t home, but luckily I was and put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher, but it caught his bookshelf on fire. It had a few energy drink cans inside and was not crowded on the shelf. There were no injuries, but if I had not been home, it would have burned the house down. It was a big fire. I notified the manufacturer because the Sam’s Club product listing had a photo saying the model number was EFMIS175-BLACK, which has been recalled for causing fires. But the Curtis International recall department said that the unit was actually EFMIS222-BLACK. Regardless, I believe this unit needs to be added to their recall: https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2025/Curtis-International-Recalls-Frigidaire-brand-Minifridges-Due-to-Fire-and-Burn-Hazards-More-Than-700-000-Reported-in-Property-Damage

The product, in the report: Frigidaire (made by electrolux) full size counter depth side by side refrigerator/freezer purchased in 2017. Your model number is LGHK2336TF and serial number is 4A74117118
My Frigidaire branded refrigerator had an ice bucket recall in Q1/Q2 of 2024 for which I received a replacement ice bucket. Last week I noticed the new ice bucket breaking as well with large pieces of plastic in my drinks. So Frigidaire replaced the ice buckets with the exact same ice bucket and did NOT fix the problem at all. My 89 year old mother almost drank the plastic pieces (larger than a nickel almost the size of a quarter) with very sharp edges. I reached out to Frigidaire and they said my 1 year warranty from date of original purchase expired. So I have to buy a new one. They also said this is considered “normal wear and tear.” In my 52 years of life I have NEVER seen a refrigerator dispense plastic instead of ice! The plastic is so thin of course it is going to break. Cheap bad product!

I have a mini fridge that I use to store my skincare and I noticed it started making a strange noise it sounded very forced so I disconnected it and waited awhile to reconnect. When I tried connecting it I saw sparks coming out of the wall outlet so I decided to not connect it.I contacted the manufacturer and noticed on their website alot of these units were being recalled. They told me my unit was not part of the recall and since it was over 180 days since I purchased it the warranty was void. The user manual claims they have.a 1 year warranty on their products.I send them al the documentation they asked for and they did not seem concerned at all. This could have caused serious damaged to my home if I had not noticed and left the unit connected.

Our Frigidaire mini fridge started to smell like burning plastic while running with just a couple of small items in it on a table. The smell overtook the room and we traced it to the mini fridge, so immediately turned it off and have not used it since. Today I received notification from Amazon that it had been recalled, but when I went to apply for the refund, I was told my model number is not affected by the recall. I believe that it should be recalled, because if we had been sleeping or not home when we noticed the burning smell from the mini fridge it could have ended up much worse.

The product, in the report: FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR - model LGHK2336TF8, serial number 4A04201029, 22 cu ft, stainless steel
Safety concern with Electrolux/ Frigidaire ice bucket - Model LGHK2336TF, manufactured 10/2020. There is a recall for these products produced between 2015 - 2019, but it needs to be amended to include later dates as well. We discovered plastic shavings and fragments were dispensing with our ice. When we checked the ice maker/ ice bucket, we found that the inner metal rod which rotates the ice had “worn” into plastic causing the shavings and there was a large chuck of plastic missing from the side of the bucket which was resting amongst the ice. I have chatted with a Frigidaire associate to purchase a replacement part but wanted to make sure that action is taken to expand the date range of the active recall.

We noticed a burning odor coming from our refrigerator, and it was even stronger in the freezer compartment. I removed everything from the freezer and removed the panel in the back. I noticed burn marks in two spots, one was a foam strip that was attached to the back of the panel, and the other was on the cylindrical housing where the panel attaches. My theory is that the foam strip was not attached properly or adhesive detached over time and then the foam strip touched the heater element and caught on fire.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire 0.3ncu.ft. 6 -Can Retro Mini Fridge in Black
I purchased a Frigidaire Mini fridge for my son on December 3, 2022 from Home Depot. It worked well. On November 9 of this year I noticed it wasn’t running. I looked to see if it was on and noticed the power switch is charred and the item no longer works. It appears that there were some type of sparks around the power switch based on the color of the surrounding area. This was sitting in front of a lamp with a paper lamp shade and could have caused a fire in my son’s room. I contacted Frigidaire to let them know that this is a safety issue. A lot of children have these in their bedrooms. They responded with a form email letting me know that I was out of warranty. I was not asking Frigidaire for compensation or to have the product replaced. I did have a warranty through Home Depot and they are planning to refund me the purchase price of the item. I care more about it being a safety issue as lot of kids have these.

On 10-31 this year, I found a spring in my water glass. I couldn’t imagine where it came from until a day or two later, our icemaker stopped working on our two-year old refrigerator by Frigidaire. I looked in the freezer and found a plastic arm laying in the ice bin. I believe the spring popped into the ice dispenser and the arm fell down afterwards causing the problem. I found recalls for similar problems in previous years after reporting this to Frigidaire. I wanted to report this because someone could have swallowed the spring if it happens to them, and they said there was no current recall for this model.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gallery 20.3 Cu. Ft. Standard-Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
I bought a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator and the part that vents the cold air from the freezer to the fridge is defective so the fridge does not get to a safe temperature and stay there. It gets slightly cool to make you think that it is cooling down but it is only cool to about 45-50 degrees, if it is hot outside then it will not be cool at all. This creates an unsafe environment in the fridge and can spoil foods kept in there.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire refrigerator model: GRFS2853AD1, black stainless steel color
In November of 2022 I purchased FRIGIDAIRE Gallery 27.8 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Black Stainless Steel (Model#:GRFS2853AD1). About 9 months later in August 2023I noticed that this refrigerator gave me a warning that the freezer’s temperature is higher than it supposed to be and since it was under 1 year manufacturing warranty, I call Frigidaire, and they made an appointment with a local technician. The first technician came sometime in late August or early September and after checking this refrigerator, he said that this unit has a sealant leak and since he has not a license to do that type of work, someone else will come later. And about 2 weeks later a new technician came. He said that this unit had a leak somewhere but was not able to identify where it was leaking, so he filled the unit with a refrigerant and added some type of leak detector and said that he would come later to check it again, but never showed up. But since the refrigerator was working correctly, I was not worried about it until of June 2024 when I had the same issue again. I called Frigidaire and told them that the issue reappears and since it was not fixed properly the first time, they should fix it and the lady from support services said that I have to not worry, and they will send a new technician to fix it properly this time. The first technician came in June of 2024 and said that there is a leak somewhere he is not able to identify, and he will send a report to Frigidaire and someone from Frigidaire will contact me within 2 business days. After 3 days of waiting, I called Frigidaire again to find out what they should do and the lady said that the technician did not provided them with a detailed explanation and what parts needed and they will send another technician. Sometime in July there is another technician came and he said the same thing that he is not able to identify where is a leak is and another technician with a license to fix sealed units will come and fix the problem. On August 27, 2024, another technician came ([REDACTED] from [REDACTED]) and said that the unit has internal leak in the cabinet itself and he will not be able to fix it, he said that since refrigerant is a flammable I am not able to use this refrigerator anymore and disconnect it. I asked him to send me details and he text me the following notes: “[REDACTED] Found internal leak in cabinet. Pressure tested to 150 PSI and bubble checked every external joint. No bubbles presented. Previous company added dye for leak detection - no dye visible in freezer or in rear cabinet. Contacted Frigidaire and was notified this is not covered under the sealed system warranty - warranty is 1 year. NOT REPAIRABLE.” I called Frigidaire the same day to find out what are the next steps, and the lady said that they have not received the notes from the technician and someone from Frigidaire will contact me from 24 to 48 hours. Since I have not received any phone call, on August 30, 2024, I call them myself and the person from Frigidaire said that the unit is not under the warranty and Frigidaire will not do anything. I would like to report a fraud from Frigidaire and for unsafe product with possibility of fire, since leak was never found and as [REDACTED] technician said refrigerant is Flammable, so all these 2 years my family was live in unsafe environment with possibility of Fire.

Frigidaire Gallery Grsc2352a 22.2 cubital feet. After fighting with Fridgidaire for a year, I found out my fridge was recalled!!! Frigidaire never told me. It took months to get something done. With a great recommendation from our store manager, we purchased a more expensive one. We had it about a year when the same problems started: the ice maker groans like it’s trying to rotate or???? It makes a few trays of ice and then quits for weeks. The fridge side is turning our food into frozen. Stuff like vegetables, fruit, left overs etc. Twice we got food poisoning from letting the meat sit to thaw and we left it too long I guess. Also, it’s painful enough having a soft peach or a package of frozen hamburger fallout and the back of my head and feet. Young kids know they can go get something. What if something not balanced right for a freeze, falls out on them, splits their open and needs stitches? What if it was that very child’s birthday parry ruined. We bought this fridge July 12, 20022. The fridge started early 2023 and the freezer following behind. Injuries yes, food poisoning and pain where frozen food came out and hit us.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire refrigerator (model number FFHT 1821 QB4. Serial number BA70713019)
I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a serious incident involving a Frigidaire refrigerator (model number FFHT 1821 QB4. Serial number BA70713019) which could have had catastrophic consequences. On July 16, 2024, the freezer of this appliance spontaneously caught on fire in my elderly father-in-law home.
Fortunately, my father-in-law was near the kitchen at the time and was able to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher he had on hand. While there was no property damage, the freezer and refrigerator have been completely destroyed. More importantly, this incident has caused considerable distress and trauma, especially considering my father-in-law age and vulnerability. It has also resulted in the loss of the entire food supply that was in the appliance and has left him currently living without a refrigerator, significantly impacting his daily life and well-being. Given the potential danger this poses to other users, I strongly believe that this is a serious safety issue that warrants immediate investigation and possibly a recall.

I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator with an inside door mounter water dispenser. We’ve had issues with the water dispenser dripping excess water. We didn’t realize that it was dripping and pooling in the circuit board of the freezer drawer below. After seeing an error code on the display, the freezer drawer began smoking and getting extremely hot. Luckily we were home to unplug the refrigerator and discontinue use. But the location of the water dispenser directly above electrical components concerns us - even as we try to get it replaced under the warranty.

Even with the replacement, I have noticed multiple times pieces of plastics coming out with the ice. As a physician, I just haven’t had the time to report this but it has happened now multiple time even with the new “improved” replacement Icemaker bucket. The refrigerator is a Frigidaire Gallery Model # FGSC2335TF5 Serial #4A84611849. I was using the crush iced function of the refrigerator ice maker. I don’t know if I or any of my family members have unknowingly swallowed pieces of sharp plastic into our digestive system in the past as I don’t always look into a cup before I drink water. If swallowed, this sharp plastic pieces have the potential to cause serious damage to an individual’s digestive system and may cause local inflammatory or systemic reactions.

The product, in the report: This is a refrigerator with a separate top freezer compartment.
Black smoke came pouring out of the top part of the freezer section covering the frozen food inside as well as the entire walls of the freezer. The smell lingered for quite a while. Not sure what would have happened if we were not at home at the time. We unplugged the refrigerator as soon as we discovered this.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire refrigerator with French doors along with a bottom drawer freezer
I have a Frigidaire refrigerator that has an issue with hard white flecks coming out of the icemaker. This happens often when dispensing ice from the icemaker. There is no telling how many of these particles that my family, friends, and guests have ingested. Sometimes we do not see them until we have finished most of our drink. I called Electrolux at 1-888-377-7563 to report the issue. They said that my refrigerator model was not on the recall list and therefore they would not replace my ice bucket. The person in customer service was no help and just laughed at me. My refrigerator model may not be on the list, but there is certainly an issue with it. I do not know if the exact same issue is happening with the refrigerator model that I have but this issue needs to be resolved. We purchased our refrigerator around 4 or 5 years ago.

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator model FFSS2315TS that the ice maker broke pieces of plastic into the ice. I have replaced with a new ice maker that is starting to make the same type of loud banging sound as the old one. Recently as I was removing an item from the freezer section and reaching back I cut my finger. Removing the items in my freezer to see what I cut my finger on, the inside wall was cracked front to back.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer side by side stainless steel
I received a recall notice from Frigidaire Electrolux Group 2/26/2024 and my refrigerator was confirmed to be involved. Following instructions, I received a recall replacement icebucket. I followed the steps involved and when I was drinking a glass of sparkling water something didn’t feel right in my mouth. I found a sliver of white plastic and am extremely concerned how this could be. I turned the icemaker off and called the Electrolux Group at 1-888-377-7563 on 3/18/2024. After talking with [REDACTED] at Customer Service whom spoke with his tech support team, I was told that the plastic particles may have been from the manufacturer mold and have not had any problems related to this. A second replacement was shipped and received 3/22/2024. Again, I inspected the new replacement icebucket and did find some shaved material which I had to wash out and save. I turned the icemaker on and after a few hours I decided to melt some ice and found small plastics. The water filter was replaced 1/1/2024 and the water dispenser is giving me crystal clear water but the icemaker is not. I have saved these samples. I talked to [REDACTED] who said he was going to call me back but has not. I sent pictures to [REDACTED] and they have this situation on file.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire voluntary recall for ice buckets. Letter dated 2/8/2024 from Frigidaire notes a voluntary recall in cooperation with the CPSC.
Electrolux’s ice bucket recall is too narrow and does not include all impacted products. My fridge includes an ice bucket where plastic pieces have already broken off but is not included in the population. I attempted to contact electrolux at the email listed on their recall page but received an automated response that they do not reply from that email. Very disappointing - shows Electrolux is not taking consumer safety seriously. A properly completed warranty analysis would include all impacted ice buckets and not attempt to hide portions of the population to save cost.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Side-by-Side Refrigerator; Model #FRSS2323AB0; Serial #4A 13517094 Manufactured 09/21
I purchased a Frigidaire Refrigerator from Lowe’s in the fall of 2021. A few months ago, I attempted to use my ice maker and broken parts ended up in my drinking glass. Thank goodness I looked into the glass before I drank anything or I would’ve been injured. I noticed the recall on some Frigidaire Refrigerators last week (the week of Feb 13, 2024) and called the 888-377-7563 “customer service” number for the recall. The woman, who was difficult to understand, gave me no recourse. ZERO. I am submitting this report because it sounds like the same type of problem with other Frigidaire refrigerators. I paid a great deal of money for this refrigerator and I’d like to use my icemaker. As it stands now, I am using ice trays for ice. Not an optimal situation after spending so much money for a nice refrigerator. Model # FRSS2323AB0 Serial #4A13517094 Manufactured date: 09/21
