The product, in the report: Cuisinart DFP-11Mini-Prep Plus
I read about the Cuisinart blade recall. I have two Cuisinarts. Examining them both, both have cracked blades. The DFP-11 blade was covered by the replacement. The [REDACTED] which is also cracked was not covered by the recall. It should be as it shows the same cracking that caused the other riveted blades to require replacement.
No injury or damage, but potential is present as in the larger recalled blades.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor model BFP703 or BFP703C
After hearing of the Cuisinart Food Processor recall last week I went to check our Cuisinart food processor. The model number on the bottom says it is a model BFP703 or BFP703C (I will attach a photo showing the model and serial number). The recalled models do NOT list this model as being recalled.
However, it has a similar looking blade and what is horribly alarming is that the bottom of my blade also has the four rivets and, one section of the blade’s base is missing....just like the pictures of the recalled blades. I find myself getting sick every time I try to think of where that missing section of the blade indeed is. I am attaching a picture of the bottom of my blade.
in any event, I am writing because it is clear that model number BFP703 should be included in the recall as well.

The consumer heard about recall # 17-050 and noticed his unit looked similar. Upon examining his unit the consumer noticed cracking on the riveted blades. The consumer called the firm’s recall hotline (877-339-2534) to request the remedy but the Rep. (name unknown) advised him that his model was not included in the recall. When the consumer requested to speak with a Supervisor the Rep. disconnected the call. The consumer has tried calling the firm’s customer service (800-726-0190) but the line is busy.
The consumer believes his model should be included in the recall and he would like to receive the remedy as well.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Pro Classic 7-Cup Food Processor Model DLC-10S
While processing cooked vegetables just before Thanksgiving, my food processor suddenly sounded like a piece of metal was loose in the work bowl. No one hurt Made Dec 16, 2016, sent to the company Dec 27, 2016, published by CPSC Jan 11, 2017
The product, in the report: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor Model DLC-2A. On bottom of unit it says “East Windsor, NJ, 08520. Made in China.” I do not know if that is their current address. It is what is written on it.
There is presently a product recall on Cuisinart Food Processors that have a riveted blade. The recall site states that if there are no rivets on your blade, then it is safe to continue use. I have a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor, Model DLC-2A. Prior to the recall for the food processors with the riveted blades, I had noticed that mine which is not riveted is cracked in multiple places near where the blades insert and on multiple sites on that blade piece.
There has been no injury regarding my blade but clearly it could easily happen given the multiple cracks. Of note, is that I have only used the processor for grinding herbs and fully cooked carrots. As well, it has never been in a dishwasher.
I called your number as listed on your site yesterday 12.15.2016 and was told I would be able to attach pictures of my blade to this report.
In the area below for the incident report, I will have to guess when I first noticed the blade in this condition. I was just planning on replacing the unit for another brand assuming this was a singular quality control issue. As a physician, when I saw the recall for the riveted blades, I wanted to make sure you are alerted to the fact that the non riveted blades are most likely affected and would cause the same injuries as noted in the current recall. Of great concern is the statement on the recall site that if you don’t have a riveted blade, they are safe to use. When you see the pictures of mine, you will understand why I am writing this. I tried numerous times to call Cuisinart but continued to get either a loud busy signal or a message that there was unusually high demand and to call later. “Calling later” has not worked.
Thanks for your work with protecting consumers.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart DLC-2A Mini-Prep Plus
In addition to the current blade recall for riveted blades on specific models of Cuisinart food processors there is also a blade defect on the mini processor listed. The blade on this model is embedded in a plastic hub. This hub on our processor is cracked in two places and thus creates the potential for the entire blade to become separated from the hub at high RPMs.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor model “Prep 7”
I want to report an incident with the Cuisinart Food Processor, the same one that recently launched a recall due to the disintegrating blade.
Earlier this year my wife bit into some food that she blended with the food processor and felt a sharp piece of metal. Fortunately she felt it before it cut her mouth open.
We bought a new blade on Amazon and did not report it at the time. Seeing this recall announcement reminded us that we needed to report for the safety of others.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Brushed Stainless Steel Custom 14-Cup Food Processor
I bought a Cuisinart 14-Cup food processor (model DFP-14BCN) in October 2013 in the U.S. (I currently live in Canada.)
A few months ago, I had just made salmon mousse in it and was just putting it on the table for my children when I saw some rigid shapes in the mousse. I discovered that they were broken shards of the blade, which had cracked and come apart at the rivets. I had just served the mousse to my kids. Obviously, this was very upsetting.
I called Cuisinart’s consumer line about this in August but did not hear back, and I just read about the recall for this blade defect, so I’m reporting it to you this time and will try sending the information to Cuisinart again. I’m also attaching photos.
The jagged edges of the blade also apparently left scratches on the inside of the work bowl, which I hadn’t immediately noticed. I’m unhappy that I did not hear back from Cuisinart when I first contacted them, and I will contact them again today to ask that a new blade and workbowl sent to replace the defective/damaged ones. I will check back with you again if I still don’t hear from Cuisinart. (I know you’re aware of this issue because there is now a recall, but I thought you should know about yet another instance of the defective blade.) Thank you, [REDACTED]
*IMPORTANT: If you need to contact me about this, please use email [REDACTED] . If you need me to call you, email me and we will arrange a time. (I will be travelling in the coming months.) Thank you.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor DLC 5 TX Blade
I have a Cuisinart DLC 5 TX food processor. The blade has 4 rivets and 2 have cracks coming out from the. One has cracks in 3 directions and looks like a piece of metal is about to come off. On Cuisinarts website they say DLC 5 models are in the recall can get a free replacement by filling out the online form, or by calling the recall number or by calling customer service. My model is not listed on the online form so I called customer service. I was told that since my model was no longer under 3 year warranty they would only sell me a replacement blade. I asked if “I should just continue to use this blade?”, They told me definatly not to use the blade. I asked to speak to a supervisor to clarify why they know the blade is dangerous but they aren’t replacing it and my request was refused. This blade is dangerous and should be part of the recall.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart 7-Cup Food Processor, Model number DLC-7SBC
A few weeks ago I found a small piece of metal in a dish of pasta I had prepared using my Cuisinart food processor. I assumed it came from the can of beans I used - maybe it had been inside the can. Fortunately, I was not injured and did not ingest the fragment. When the Cuisinart recall was announced, I checked our blade and discovered that the piece of metal I had found had actually come from the bottom of our blade. Our blade is a part of the recall.

I have a cuisinart food processor. From what I see on the recall models, mine is not on the recall list, how ever, I feel it should be. I was using that slicing blade to make scalloped potatoes. All of a sudden, the machine starting shimming across the counter. I shut it off, and took the blade off. The edge was damaged and bend over. You can see visually the damage on the blade. I am surprised that one of the teeth didn’t break off and end up in my food. I’ve tried calling tP12he company but no success. I tried using the on line site, but the page could not be found, using the link posted. I ended up using a customer care site, and they said I would receive an confirm ton e-mail shortly which I submitted last night, which I did not receive. I feel this blade should be recalled for any consumer. My model number is FP-12 series. The slicing blade # is FP 12ASD slicing disc.

The product, in the report: Food processor
The new Conair Cuisinart voluntary recall prompted my inspection of our food processor, which is a Cuisinart but is not a part of the recall. The model number is DLC-1TX. The machine is smaller and cost less than $100. Its blade assembly is an open-center white plastic ring with two typical metal blades. My inspection showed that the plastic ring is split completely through on one side and half split on the opposite side, 180 degrees around . There has not yet been an incident, but the condition of the blade assembly is such that I would not use the machine with this original blade. It is my opinion that this model blade should be included in Conair’s recall, especially given that the specific machine in our possession has been only lightly and infrequently used over the years we have owned it.

The product, in the report: Cuisanart Food Processor Model DLC-& Pro with four rivet blade model DLC-7
Cuisanart Food Processor blade as reported December 13, 2016. The recall indicates certain models made in China from 1996 forward. We checked our unit / blade and it does indeed have the four rivets, AND THERE IS A CRACK RUNNING THRU ONE OF THEM. Fortunately we have had no injury from this design failure. BUT.......YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER A RECALL EXPANSION. You see our Cuisanart Food Processor , with Model DLC-7 Pro stamped on the bottom of the unit AND on the blade is ALSO STAMPED as having been MADE IN JAPAN. Further there is an inspection tag still on the bottom of the unit bearing the date AUGUST 11, 1988. That is a full eight years earlier than the present recall. So, to reiterate, our unit : 1. Was made in August 1988, not July 1996 through December 2015 2. Was made in Japan, not China 3. Has the same four rivet blade with beige plastic center 4. The blade has a crack through one rivet as reported in the recall

Because of the recent Cuisinart recall my wife checked our Cuisinart MINI-PREP PLUS DLC-4CHBWB and found the plastic holding the blades in place is cracked in two locations. I couldn’t find it on the recall list so I called Cuisinart at their 877-339-2534 phone number. For two days it rang busy. When I finally got through, it was a recording stating due to the high volume of calls please contact us on the internet. I did that and entered the Cuisinart model number above. I got a screen saying it wasn’t on the recall list, “You may continue to use it”. I won’t use it as I believe it constitutes a safety hazard and the blades may come detached at any moment. I am shocked that Cuisinart doesn’t have a person answering these calls to discuss other products that might be faulty. If you would like a photo of the blades on our Cuisinart I would gladly forward them to you.
This site is not allowing me to upload 4 digital images of the Cuisinart blades and the cracked plastic housing for the blades. I have the latest firefox download and am operating off of a iMac. If you can forward a regular e-mail address I can forward the images to I will do so.

I pulled the blade out and a big chunk of the blade had fallen apart and fell into the hummus. I am glad I checked and didn’t serve the hummus!! The product, in the report: Food Processor, Cusinart DFP-14BCN
Yesterday, I filled out a report for the widely announced recall of Cusinart Model DFP-14BCN. In the course of putting the unit away, My thumb was pressed against Cusinart Cutting Blade, DLC-044TX 4mm which was sitting in a plastic bag in the drawer where the food processor was routinely stored. My thumb was badly cut by the preceding blade, even though I had placed it in a Ziplock 1 Quart Freezer bag since I recognized how sharp this blade was.
The cut to my thumb required 7 stiches to stop the bleeding and reattach my thumb tip. I feel the Cusinart Cutting Blade, DLC-044TX 4mm should be sold with a hard clear plastic sleeve so a consumer handling the blade or placing the main unit in a drawer is protected. Since, the manufacturer has such a particularly dangerous Cutting Blade, DLC-044TX 4mm people owning this unit now should be supplied a protective sleeve for this blade. The main chopping blade that was part of the recall due to metal fragments breaking off, normally sits in the chopping container/bowl so it does not present a hazard to a user when they reach for the handled chopping bowl

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor Pro Classic, Model DLC-10S TX (Type 25) with Metal Blade FP-100TX
I own a Cuisinart Food Processor that is older than the advertised date range of the current Cuisinart recall, which is due to a riveted metal blade that can develop cracks and break.
I am reporting this out of concern that some owners of older Cuisinart food processors with defective and dangerous blades will not seek or will not obtain a new blade through the recall.
My blade unit also has cracks in the metal at each of the four rivets securing the lower blade. There are between one and three cracks at each rivet. The combination of cracks on this blade extends across about 90% of the blade. Although the metal blade is cracked, none of the blade has broken off.
I purchased this food processor in 1987. However, the advertised date range for the recall is July 1996 to December 2015.
The model number of the food processor is DLC-10S TX (Type 25). It is labeled the Cuisinart PRO Classic Food Processor, made in China. The blade is marked Metal Blade FP-100TX and it is also marked Cuisinart DLC-10.
For the Cuisinart recall form on the website, I selected model “DLC-10S” and my unit was considered eligible for the recall. There wasn’t an option to select model DLC-10S TX. The website form did not ask for the date of purchase.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart MiniPrep Food Processor
I was using my Cuisinart Mini Prep Food Processor (Model DLC-2ABK/DLC-2ABKC) to process salad dressing. I stopped the machine to add another ingredient, then put the lid back on and pressed one of the buttons to continue processing and it would not turn on. It acted like the blade was stuck on something so I opened it up, moved some of the ingredients around and tried again, and again it wouldn’t operate. I finally opened it up, took the blade out and noticed that one of the rivets holding the blade on had completely come off and one part of the blade was still in the bottom of the machine. I discarded the blade and the salad dressing.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Mini-Prep plus.
This is related to the Cuisinart recall. I have a Cuisinart that is affected by the recall (four steel rivets on blade, noticeable cracking of steel) and I will get a replacement blade. However, I also have another Cuisinart that is not included in this recall, and I noticed cracking of that blade as well. In this case, it is the plastic housing that is cracked in multiple places and could splinter off during use. There have been no injuries related to this in my household.
I will be contacting Cuisinart about this other blade issue, but I wanted to let you know that other blades not included in the recall may be damaged as well.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus
I used my Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus to chop some herbs for stuffed shells. While eating dinner, my husband bit down on something hard in the stuffed shell which only has soft ricotta cheese and herbs in it. He spit it out and it was a small white piece of plastic. We were shocked and couldn’t believe it came from the cheese. We thought about how we made the shells and checked out the Cuisinart. The plastic around the blade had deteriorated and parts were coming off during chopping. While he hurt his tooth and it was sore for a few days, luckily it did not require dental work. I looked into purchasing a replacement blade but it was $15 and I decided it was too much $. I put the mini-prep aside in a storage closet and pulled it out today after hearing about the new Cuisinart recall. But the current recall doesn’t involve this model as it’s focused on blade pieces coming off. I remember the date as my child’s friend ate dinner with us and I was incredibly thankful the kids didn’t chomp down on a hard piece of plastic. It was the week before Halloween as they were trying on their costumes. I didn’t think to report it until now. I can send pix.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Procesor
As I was making my children their smoothies I noticed that their was something bizarre in the food processor. When I turned the food processor off, pouring the kids smoothies into glasses as I looked for the mystery item, I found an entries chunk of the blade that dislodged between the rivets. I immediately took my children’s smoothies away, other small chunks appear to be missing and the blade is cracked in multiple places. I do not know how long it has been in this state or how much of the blade my family ingested.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor. Model number DLC-2007N
Report is for a Cuisinart Food Processor. Model number DLC-2007N.
On the day of the incident a metal shard from the food processor blade was found in the processed food. The shard had broken off around a rivet on the underside of the blade. Upon further inspection I found there were cracks around other rivets.
I have a secondary blade from an older model and inspected it as well after the incident with the first blade. The secondary blade also had cracks around several of the rivets, though no shards had broken off.
The food processor has only ever been used for soft foods, within normal operations as directed by the manufacturer, and the blades have never been used for anything else than their intended purpose.

As soon as we started using food processor today, it made a grinding sound, as if a spoon was caught in the garbage disposal. We couldn’t figure out what was making the sound and finished using it. We were pureeing fruit and when we poured it out, there was a sliver of metal left in there. Looked at our chopping blade, thinking the blade itself broke, and discovered that it came from the bottom. Like the others, it was a section between two rivets. (There are a total of 4 rivets on the bottom.) Called Cuisinart and they are sending a free replacement blade.
We have only used our food processor on very simple tasks and probably only 10-15 times since purchase.

The product, in the report: Food Processor
This consumer is reporting her food processor purchased from retailer in Massachusetts as part of her wedding registry sometime around May/June 2011. She began using the food processor possibly in July 2011.
On December 28th, 2013 the caller had used her food processor then saw that a piece of the blade had broken off then contacted the manufacturer sent her a replacement blade.
On August 29th, 2016 she had prepared her 19 month old daughter’s dessert and she didn’t finish all of the contents of her bowl and when the caller’s husband was cleaning up he saw a 1/4” in length and 1/8th of an inch wide piece of the blade in his daughter’s bowl. One side of the piece of the blade was pointed and the other side was not.
She believes that possibly the only thing that saved her baby from injury was that she wasn’t eating the dessert with a spoon she was rather sipping it with a straw.
She is reporting this as a severe safety hazard citing that her child could have swallowed a piece of the blade if she had continued eating.
There are no injuries being reported
She has not contacted the manufacturer with this most recent incident but she does plan to contact them.

The product, in the report: food processing machine Model#CFB-11ZBCPC Serial#41205 S Cusinart
This is what I sent to Cuisinart customer service:
“I was gifted the food processing machine Model#CFB-11ZBCPC Serial#41205 S approx 8 months ago. I use it chiefly to make purees in preparation of our family meals.
Last night, about 4pm, I was making a puree of freshly-picked tomatoes--from my garden--including fresh herbs, garlic cloves and a can of tomato sauce and a little water. After 10 seconds of the machine being on, there was a giant bang and I saw a hole in the side of the Cuisinart clear plastic container/bowl; the blade had broken in half and part of it went through the side of the container. It had hit the stove and part the processor accessory case against the wall, behind the appliance.
I was standing right in front of it (making dinner) with my three children next to me, one of which is nine years old, and her head is about level with the appliance. If that blade had broken off just a nano-second earlier, it would have gone through her head, or my stomach.
We were all in shock, as this has never happened before. My mom had a Cuisinart for 15 years and it never anything did this. Today, I compared the thickness of this blade to her model (15 years old) and mine is far thinner and appears to be made of some kind of aluminum, not steel.
After a minute, I grabbed my phone and took pictures of the splintered pieces of plastic, the broken blade and the tomato sauce all over and was on the phone calling your customer service. The man on the phone was very aloof and did not seem to grasp the seriousness of the situation. He talked about replacement parts, but I informed him that I don’t want another machine that will break apart again, and put us in such danger. I asked him if you were receiving complaints about this issue; he said “no”. He put me on some kind of manager “24-hour call back list” which I have not had a call back from, as of yet.
The claim that no one else was complaining turned out to be a lie. I looked up this model online and found dozens of complaints (publicly listed) about the blade snapping half--even in processing soft items--and flying out the side of the container, just using the machine as the manual says it can be used. (And no, I did not list them here; I am certain your staff knows how to use Google)
Due to the number of public, visible complaints, it seems to me that Cuisinart is ignoring a serious danger to the consumer, knowingly putting out products that have two huge flaws.
Please tell your product development team, engineers and lawyers that:
1. the blade needs to be stronger (not so flimsy) so it wont snap in half 2. the plastic container/bowl need to be stronger to withstand the seemingly inevitable blade malfunction.
I do not want a replacement product that will once again put my family in danger again. I will not use it if I think the thin, cheap blade will snap in half. Any replacement parts offered must be stronger; the blade must be thicker and made of steel. If the motor is too powerful for the blade to handle, why did you put out an appliance that might fail?
Please get back to me quickly. I make food for my family three times a day and I use a food processor of some kind at least 4 times per week; I currently have no food processor and am having to work around it and alter the menu.
If you want me to send you the photos or the broken blade & bowl mailed to you as proof, let me know. I have also sent a copy of this email to a number of consumer affairs/safety watchdog individuals. If I do not hear back from your company in 24 hours I will write a consumer affair article on this model with the full breadth of the tale included and email it to as many media outlets as possible.
The public should be informed of the danger of this model, and God forbid it kills someone’s little girl, and you knew about it, and could have prevented it.
Please immediately act to take this model off the shelves and inform the public of a nation-wide recall to replace these defective blades.

We use the Cuisinart DLC-10 food processor to puree food for our 7 month old baby. While we were feeding her, we found a very sharp piece of metal in her food. It was very alarming, as we were concerned that perhaps she had ingested sharp pieces of metal without us being aware. Upon inspection of the food processor, we found that on the underside of the blade, there was a piece of metal missing. The underside of the blade was broken and the piece in her food fit perfectly into the void. As I now look at that one star reviews on Amazon, I see other pictures that depict the exact same occurrence. I am very concerned for the safety of not only our daughter but for any consumer who prepares food using this model food processor and blade.

No one hurt Made May 16, 2016, sent to the company May 24, 2016, published by CPSC Jun 8, 2016
The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor. Model DLC - 5. Clear/gray bowl color. S blade in the bottom.
On Thursday, March 17th, my family and I began to cook dinner. We decided to make a sauce using our Cuisinart Food Processor model DLC - 5. We usually use our food processor when preparing dinner. While we blended up our sauce, one that we’ve made several times before, our processor began to make a sharp thumping noise. We stopped it, checked it, didn’t see anything unusual, and tried it again. It made the sound again, so we shut it off to check around the machine and at the sauce inside. The sauce looked blended so we proceeded on with dinner.
After dinner, we took the bowl off the processor off the base and as we went to clean it, we found a dark object in the bottom mixed in with leftover sauce. As we pulled it out, we realized that it was a piece of the S blade. When we pulled out the blade to look it over, we realized that on the bottom of the blade there are several rivets to hold the blade on. The blade had cracked along the thin edging where the rivets were. The piece we had identified in the bottom of our food processor bowl, mixed in with our food, was a piece that had broken off between two of the rivets. The sharp thumping sound we had heard, has been identified as the sound the blade was making as it spun around loose inside our food. It caused scratches and a huge dent inside the plastic of the processor bowl.
At any point during our meal, this metal blade could have been consumed by our family, including our young children. The blade between the rivets can crack and break off and is extremely dangerous. We, as consumers, had no idea that was even possible.
I contacted the company in April and did not hear back. I contacted the company again May 12th and we’ve exchanged many emails. The customer service is terrible. It takes about a day to get replies and every reply is from someone different so the emails are not cohesive. In one of the last emails, they told me I’d have to buy a replacement blade. I refused, because I don’t believe we are at fault and we should not have to replace it. I also, do not want a blade with rivets on the bottom now, knowing the danger it poses to our family.
Today, May 16th, I called customer service. It says in their emails that when you call, they will not know about the emails. As I explained my situation, the customer service representative said “So what do you want us to do about it?”. When I told her I’d like my food processor replaced with one that does not have rivets on the bottom of the blade. She told me they couldn’t do that, they could only replace the blade. She offered no remorse or apology. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She informed me that due to the volume of calls, she’d need to take my name and number and I would have to wait for a customer service supervisor to call me in 24 hours.
Their Facebook page is full of negative feedback and other products that have broken or become dangerous, including a coffee pot that burst into flames. Many posts have not gotten any responses from customer service. This is a terrible way to conduct service.
When I googled “ Cuisinart Food Processor Blade Breaking” I came across many webpages with people that are dealing with the same situation for various models. It’s extremely dangerous. I hope that you can help, since the company is unwilling to protect people.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart 9 cup food processor.
While pureeing some Fava beans (a very soft food) in my Cuisinart Prep 9 food processor, I began to hear a clanking sound. On examining the puree, I found that the manufacturer’s blade had shattered into several pieces, and quite a few more tiny shards. The puree, which I was preparing as a filling for dinner with my wife and two-year-old son, had small shards of sharp metal scattered through it. The product is only three years old, has never been abused, and has been used only lightly to moderately, usually with soft foods. I shudder to think of all the times I have made purees for my child, that on any of those occasions I could have failed to hear a clanking sound and served a possibly fatal meal to my baby.
I called Cuisinart, and they were not even willing to replace the flawed part, though I think I will be switching to a different brand anyway. Still, it is astounding that the only response offered to me by this dangerous company was an attempt to get more money out of me for a replacement of the same faulty part.

This blade came with my Cuisinart Prep 7 Food Processor (DLC-2007N), which I bought several years ago. I used it very rarely (maybe 4 times per year) to make dips like hummus and pesto. Recently, while sampling a fresh batch of hummus, I was quite surprised to find a small sharp piece of metal in my mouth -- which clearly broke off from the blade and mixed into the food. I like spicy hummus, but this was not the kind of edge I was going for. I googled the issue, and found several other people reporting the same problem -- the blade breaks at the rivets. I have photos, showing the broken shard, where it came from, and another rivet already showing clear signs of breaking and launching another metal shard into my food. I’d say either avoid this blade, or at least check it after every use -- BEFORE eating the food it created.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart food processor with slicing disks and chopping/kneeding blades
Made some potato latkes for Hanukkah with our Cuisinart food processor model FP-14DC purchased approximately 2 years ago. We have never put the plastic bowls, cover, pushers etc in the dishwasher and have only used the device 10-12 times. Imagine our surprise when my husband gets stabbed in the mouth by a plastic shard from the food processor. Upon inspection it appears that the plastic around where food shoot meets the bowl lid. This food processor was hundreds of dollars and now is a useless piece of dangerous plastic. Ist there anything that can be done to make Cuisinart replace the lid and recall it so other consumers are not at risk. I have photos that I can send if there is an email available.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart 7 cup food processor Model # DLC- 10 STX Serial # 11010 Blade #FP-100 TX
This is a 7 cup Cuisinart food processor with a stainless steel blade. It was manufactured in China in 2011 and purchased approximately in 2013. It has been used very little as the blade is still as sharp as when new. We were pureeing a can of diced tomatoes when the blade simply broke. In looking at the unbroken part, I now see that the blade under the rivets that attach it to the round plastic base of the blade assembly is cracked under the two (of a total of 4) remaining rivets. It is clear that the four rivets that affix the blade itself to the round plastic part were pressed on using too much pressure. Cuisinart refused to replace the broken blade as it is no longer under warrantee.
Extremely sharp blade parts in the food one provides to one’s family is an obvious safety hazard. This is a manufacturing defect and should be recalled with the blade replaced by a properly riveted blade.
