The product, in the report: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus food processor, Model DLC-2A
I was using a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus food processor, Model DLC-2A, during normal use to chop/grind food. After processing the food, I attempted to eat the food. I suddenly realized that something extremely hard was in my throat and immediately knew it was not the soft food I was eating. I immediately bent over and, trying not to swallow the hard object, began gagging in an attempt to expel it from my throat. Fortunately, I was able to gag the object out of my mouth. I discovered that it was a hard, elongated piece of material. Upon examining the food processor and blade assembly, I discovered that the piece appeared to have broken off from the blade assembly and had become mixed into the food.
Had the broken piece reached my throat and presented a serious potential risk of injury because I could easily have swallowed it. I was extremely alarmed by the incident. I have retained the food processor, blade assembly, detached piece, and photographs documenting what occurred. This incident presented a serious risk of injury because the detached piece was in food that I was eating and could easily have been swallowed. If swallowed, the hard/sharp foreign material could potentially have caused injury to the mouth, teeth, throat, choking, or internal injury. The incident was extremely alarming because I had no indication that a component of the blade assembly had broken off and entered my food. I am reporting this as a product safety concern because a component of the blade assembly apparently separated during normal use and became a foreign object in food intended for consumption.

Emergency room Made May 27, 2026, sent to the company Aug 10, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 24, 2026
The product, in the report: Cuisinart 12 cup food processor Model: CFP-24DCNGMPC
I purchased a Cuisinart 12 cup food processor (model number CFP-24DCNGMPC) in November 2025. When I first used the slicing attachment the end of November, I sliced my thumb and ending up in the emergency room. I did nothing about it because I thought the injury was due to negligence on my part but my thumb was again cut fairly severely the next time I used my Cuisinart food processor with the slicing attachment. After several e-mail correspondence with Cuisinart, I was told that they would replace my Cuisinart Food Processor with another food processor that is exactly the same as the one that I believe is unsafe. I am concerned because the knob to remove these attachments is about 1 inch and it abuts the extremely sharp slicer. I decided it makes no sense to exchange one unsafe food processor for another exactly the same unsafe food processor so I declined Cuisinart’s offer. I am concerned that this is an unsafe appliance and I doubt that I am the only person who has been injured in removing the slicing attachment from the processor Thank you for anything you can do. [REDACTED]
The first incident occurred on 11/25/2025 and resulted in an ER visit The second incident occurred on 5/4/25. The laceration was not as severe as the first one but there is still numbness almost a month later.

The product, in the report: This is a Cuisinart Food Processor.
While using my Cuisinart Food Processor Model #CFP-24DCNPC , I was using the Pulse function, the motor would not stop. The Stop button did not respond. After unplugging and re-plugging, the unit immediately started running without any buttons being pressed. I also noticed a plastic/electrical odor. I believe this is an internal electrical failure.

The product, in the report: white Cuisinart prep plus 11 cup food processor. with a recalled chopper blade , serrated vegetable slicer blade (same style and problem as recalled blade.) dough blade and grater blade
I have a Cuisinart food processor whose chopper blade has been recalled and replaced. My complaint is that this same model has a shredder blade that has the very same type of blade and pieces of this blade have done exactly what the other blade was recalled for. I noticed this when I was examining my blades. I brought it to the attention of the person who was working at the replacement blade center but his said that the recall was only for the chopper blade. I asked him to report it but I do not feel comfortable trusting that he did. As a consumer with a blade that is not recalled and missing chunks of metal from the blade I am sickened to think that I served metal blade chunks to my family. please note that this blade intended use is for slicing vegetables and has only been used as such ,washed and dried by hand and gently used. My machine model number is DLC-2011N and the blade I’m reporting is DLC-8 DLC-10 CUISINART DLC-844TX 4MM made in china

The product, in the report: Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor (Model DFP-14BCN)
I would like to report a serious and dangerous small appliance malfunction that occurred with a Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor (Model DFP-14BCN).
We purchased this food processor just under 6 years ago. On average, we use it once every other week. We have had no problems with it in the past. The appliance sits on a marble countertop with plenty of space around it. It was plugged in as usual, but it was clearly turned off at the time of the malfunction. It had last been used 24 hours prior.
During the afternoon of January 6, 2025, the food processor suddenly turned on. The blade spinning noise was heard by multiple people in the house who went to the kitchen to investigate. A few seconds later, the appliance started to emit heavy gray smoke and the scent of burning plastic. We quickly unplugged it and placed it outside in the snow. While moving the appliance outside, it was noted that the underside metal components were glowing red and sparking.
Afterwards, we checked the standard electrical socket that the appliance was plugged into in the kitchen wall and found no damage or abnormalities. There was no lightning outside or any other obvious external cause. No other electrical devices in the house were affected, and no house circuit breakers tripped.
To be frank, if we had not been home at the time, this event could have easily started a house fire. Luckily there were no injuries.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Elemental 8 Food processor. Comes with 8-cup work bowl, work bowl cover with pusher, metal chopping/mixing/dough blade, thin reversible metal slicing & shredding disc, medium reversible metal slicing & shredding disc, base with stem adapter and instruction/recipe book
Our Cuisinart Food Processor FP-8 chopping/mixing/dough blade has developed cracks over time. They appear in several places on the blade shaft, where the plastic meets the metal blades. I noticed the cracks yesterday, 02/18/2023, while cleaning the parts. My partner used the food processor the previous night to chop the ingredients for mushroom soup. She is the only person who uses the machine. She is extremely careful and meticulous, and she always uses it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. We received this food processor as a Christmas gift in December 2017. There have been no injuries (so far!), but we are concerned about our safety. It looks as though shards of plastic could break off into the food and the spinning blades could break off with further use.

No incident, no one hurt Made Feb 3, 2023, sent to the company Feb 13, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2023
The product, in the report: Cuisinart “CGC-4PC5 4-Cup Mini-Prep Plus” food processor. The base/motor housing is silver-tone. Dimensions approximately 10”H x 5” W x 7” D.
This is a follow-up to an email I sent to Cuisinart, the manufacturer of the product. While I copied CPSC in that email, I’m also following up by submitting this form. This is what I sent them/you:
>>Having just spoken with someone from your Customer Service phone line, I have been redirected to your departments. This might also require involvement from your Legal Department.
I have a Cuisinart M/N CGC-4PC5 “Mini-Prep Plus Food Chopper”, S/N 3117Y, purchased at the local Costco back on 11/13/17. We use this device infrequently, for smaller food prep jobs, as we also have one of the larger Cuisinart food processors. So while it is 5 years old, it’s also received light use since it was acquired.
Yesterday, after my wife used the device to chop up an onion, I was cleaning it and noticed cracks in the “SmartPower” blade near where one of the cutters is mounted in its plastic housing. These cracks are now large enough to see with the naked eye. I caught it in time, but was concerned enough to take some photos after I finished washing and drying it, and they are attached below.
One of your customer service people tried telling my wife (paraphrasing) that if “you’re not comfortable using the product, stop using it. If you want to buy a replacement blade, it will cost $27. But the device is five years old and out of warranty.” When I called in a couple of hours later, I was told roughly the same thing and advised to write to these email boxes.
I want to make the point that THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. And Cuisinart has addressed a very similar safety issue with some of its older, larger food processors (in 2013 and 2016), involving the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and possibly product liability lawsuits that resulted in a mass recall of those cutter blades. I know, because we ourselves had to suspend use of our food processor device until Cuisinart could replace that blade assembly.
I’m not the kind of engineer that designs products such as food processors, but I am an engineer, and I can recognize a potential safety hazard like this when I spot it, wherein a device spinning a blade assembly at multiple hundreds of RPMs, and having said blade assembly suddenly and catastrophically fail, could see the blade slice through the plastic canister, potentially injuring (or even killing) the operator.
Again, look closely at the photos, which were taken (as the metadata will verify) yesterday evening, 2/02/23. One picture is worth a thousand lawsuits. And I’m forwarding six of them (photos, not lawsuits).
This email necessitates a response from someone high enough in your organization to recognize the seriousness of the situation. In case I haven’t made it clear enough, let me restate it bluntly: this is a ticking time bomb for you and for however many of your customers still own and use this blade assembly, regardless of the particular device models it came with. This should not be a situation where Cuisinart circles the wagons and stonewalls until someone – or their child – loses a limb or severs an artery.
I await your timely response. Thank you.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Kitchen Central 3-in-1 Food Processor, grey, (500 watt motor base with three attachments: 1- Blender; 2- Food Processor with two disk blades for slicing and one base blade for food emulsification; 3-Juice extractor to process juice from fruits and vegtables.) https://www.cuisinart.com/globalassets/catalog/appliances/food-processors/kitchen-central-3-in-1-food-processor/cfp-800.pdf
Cuisinart 3-in-1 Food Processor, Model CFP-800 – D/C 3121A, SAFTY MATTER due to sharp pour spout on the JUICER attachment, of the Cuisinart 3-in-1 Food Processor – The Juicer pour spout can cause serious injury as the metal pour tip is a sheer, thin metal and cuts skin easily. On 27Sep22, and my husband, unboxed the Cuisinart 3-in-1 processor, and washed the washable parts (three attachments) as indicated in the literature, with warm soapy water. When he washed the juicer attachment his hand and fingers grazed across the Juicer Pour Spout on the juicer attachment and his finger and hand were both sliced open. We quickly cleaned, wrapped the cut and dressed the injury with medical dressings. We applied pressure to stop bleeding and bound it with medical dressings and tape to stop bleeding. He did not seek treatment from a medical office as we are both trained in basic first aid and I was an EMT. The item was brand new, we carefully read the care instructions and washed the detachable parts prior to attempting to use any part of the unit. The incident that occurred involved the JUICER ATTACHMENT POUR SPOUT. The pour spout is made of a very thin sheer piece of metal, the pointed spout “IS NOT” Smooth, nor Beveled, nor Rolled and is very sharp if you graze your skin across it while cleaning it or while using it. Additionally, the pour spout tip has a slight swivel in the spout which may also have cause the injury while handling this attachment.
“I contacted Cuisinart om 24 Oct 2022, and reported this. I was contacted by a Cuisinart person on 26 Oct 2022, but I did not feel that I was take seriously. I was hoping they cared enough to stand behind their product and assure me that it would be assest and get a replacement. I suggested that they replace the Juicer attachment pour spout with a thicker mil or better quality of metal (not so thin) or change the part to a plastic pour spout. “ The rep told me to send it back and they’d send me a new one. I told here it’s a design problem and a safety matter, and that a new appliance would have the same problem.

The product, in the report: Product is the Cuisinart Elemental Food Processor, Model #FP8SV, Serial 1317.
I almost swallowed a screw while eating something we made using our Cuisinart food processor. A couple of weeks later when cleaning the food processor bowl in the sink we discovered a second screw (identical to the first). In trying to find where the screws were coming from, we noticed that there were two open screw holes in the motor housing. No injury occurred but I could have broken a tooth or worse, swallowed the screw.

The product, in the report: Food Processor
I was using a Cuisinart food processor, model # EFP-14DC. I had the grating disc in place and was grating a block of mozzarella cheese using the pulse function on the food processor. The machine seemed to be laboring so i removed the cover and checked to make sure the cheese hadn’t balled up. Everything appeared to be ok so I replaced the cover and pressed the pulse function again and the processor started working. Almost immediately, the cover broke off and several pieces of the cover and the bowl flew across the kitchen. The processor had stopped as soon as the cover broke but not before the pieces flew about. The plastic pieces were approximately 2.25 to 2.5 inches long and each had sharp points on both ends. One of the release buttons on the cover and a spring also had come off. I was not injured and no one else was in the room but I feel that the potential for a serious injury, particularly to eyes, could have occurred if a person had been in the path of the broken pieces. I have always used my Cuisinart food processor with the assumption that the machine would not operate if the cover or the blades were not correctly in place and this safety measure protected the user from any possibility of injury. I feel that the safety measures failed and that is why I am filing this report.

We received a replacement chopping blade for our Cuisinart food processor when the riveted blade was recalled in December 2016. I own a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus food processor, model number CGC-4PC5. While cleaning it after use recently, I discovered cracks in the blade assembly one of which is at the base of where the metal blade attaches to the plastic spindle. I use this product to chop small quantities of food, usually vegetables. No injuries happened, but I’m concerned that the blade assembly could break while in use. Given that the blades rotate at high speed, I’m concerned about the potential for injury.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor, Pro Custom 11
I bought a new Cuisinart food processor: the Pro Custom 11. When I tried to use it to make bread crumbs from toasted bread, the blade went flying off the spindle. Luckily it stayed inside the plastic container, but it was running at full speed, so I can only believe this is quite dangerous. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement container and blade, though I didn’t believe that would fix the problem. It didn’t. I decided to again make bread crumbs, to test the new parts, and the exact same thing happened (this was 6 weeks later once the new parts arrived). I’ve written to them again, and am waiting for a response, but there must be something critically wrong with this model. I made a video of it occurring (since it did it repeatedly, I was able to capture it), but this website won’t let me upload a video file.

The product, in the report: It is the Cuisinart Custom 14, DFP-14BCN. Black bottom and buttons, black base where work bowl attaches, stainless steel cladding on sides and front. This is the unit that was previously recalled by the CPSC for dangerous, riveted blades that were coming apart. Model DFP-14BCN - Custom 14
I was using my food processor, a Cuisinart DFP-14BCN, which was already under a previous recall by the CPSC due to an unsafe riveted blade.
In this case, the [REDACTED] work bowl is secured to the lid by two lips or tabs. This keeps the lid locked on and to keep your hands away from spinning blades.
I had the slicing blade installed, the lid locked in place and was thinly slicing lettuce when the rear of the bowl shattered at the safety lip / tab causing the lid to fly off the machine while the blade was still spinning. Thankfully I moved my hand away as I could have been cut.
Bits of [REDACTED] / plastic shrapnel hit me and ended up in the food in the work bowl.
When I bought the unit, I also bought a second work bowl. I pulled it out of the cabinet and was prepared to use it. Upon close examination of the bowl, there is a crack that has formed in the [REDACTED] under this rear lip / tab on the second bowl. Thus, using it means it will probably suffer the same failure.
Cuisinart / Conair Corporation must be aware of this fact because they have redesigned their bowls with 4 lips / tabs now. One front and rear, one on each side. Mine only has them front and rear.
I reached out to Cuisinart telling them what happened and that I expected the bowls to be replaced, since there is obviously a manufacturing defect given that the second bowl has a crack in the same location.
Their response was to buy another bowl from them of the same type.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart food processor Model DLC-8S
Summary: Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro spring rusts and falls into food
This involves a Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro Custom 11-Cup Food Processor (aka DLC-8S) bought from Amazon (as the seller) on May 5, 2015 and a replacement Cuisinart DLC-839ATX-1 Detachable Stem bought on Amazon Market on July 29, 2019. Both stems failed with the internal spring rusting and spring bits falling into the food. Some of the spring fragments were crescent shaped and could easily puncture the intestines if swallowed. When the original stem failed I figured it was a problem with a single batch of springs and I didn’t bother reporting it. I just bought a replacement stem. This is now the second time this happened and it looks like a much more pervasive problem. Since this is a metallurgy problem, it is entirely possible it is exacerbated by my dishwashing detergent. I believe I’ve used [REDACTED] brand powder throughout the lifetime of these two stems. The stem was always washed vertically, hole side down with the stem placed over a tine in the dishwasher.

The product, in the report: Elemental 13 cup food processor
I own a Cuisinart Elemental 13 cup food processor. The handle of the large work bowl broke and the spring loaded spear that drops into a hole in the motor base fell out of the handle. That spear can now be used to operate the food processor without a lid, or even without a bowl. I don’t want a spinning, uncovered blade in my kitchen, children or no children around. What held the handle of the bowl together is one small screw mounted in a plastic thread. With minimal use, the thread for the screw broke and the handle fell apart.

The product, in the report: Food Processor
This 69 year old caller is reporting that he purchased a food processor sometime maybe in 2015 and had no problems with it until around June/July 2018. The unit was always kept unplugged and in a cabinet if no in use, however in June 2018 the caller’s wife took it out of the cabinet then plugged it in and it immediately began smoking then caught fire. The caller grabbed the plug and unplugged it then threw it outside which extinguished the flames. He couldn’t estimate the flame size, it happened very quickly but it was hot enough in those few seconds to scorch his counter top. He said that he was able to restore the counter top to its original appearance with a well trusted scrubbing cleaner. There are no injuries He contacted the manufacturer who sent him a form to populate with information but he said that the form asked for his social security number and birthday which he did not feel comfortable providing to a company he was complaining about. He will keep the unit for 30 days as requested on the incident report. This unit was recalled with release# 17-050 and remedy was received by caller approximately one year ago.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Processor, Model DLC-1, Serial# 30928 2 speed
The product is a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Processor, Model DLC-1, Serial# 30928 The safety concern relates to the cutting blade assembly where the metal blade attaches to the plastic hub. This plastic hub assembly is cracked on both sides of the chopping blade and it appears the metal blade could separate when processor is at operating speed. So far the blades have not separated from the hub and no injuries occurred during its use today. Cuisinart had a similar recall for chopping blade assemblies back in 2016 but this specific model number was not one of the processors listed in that recall campaign. This unit looks as if it may have a similar issue which should be investigated before someone gets injured. I stopped using the Mini-Prep and called Cuisinart about this issue. The rep I talked to at the recall phone number indicated that Cuisinart would replace the blade assembly free of charge and redirected my call to the warranty department. This representative was not interested in assisting me unless I could produce a receipt. I explained that this was a safety issue but this claim did not seem to convince her to help out in this situation and she repeated her mantra stating they would not replace it without a proof of purchase receipt (which I no longer have). My concern is how many other blades are out there in this condition that could possibly cause injury to unsuspecting consumers. I have photos of the defective parts but have not seen how to upload them for your review.

We received a replacement blade from Cusinart for our DLC-7 model food processor in mid 2017. The blade quality is somewhat different along the cutting edge, and with limited usage, it has developed an irregular and jagged edge on it. You can not dry it with a towel without the towel sticking or catching on the barbs on the edge. While drying it on March 7 2018, the blade caught on the towel and was jerked out of my hand, and I sustained a 2 inch long laceration on my hand that required surgical repair. We never had any issues like this with the original-now recalled blade. Cusinart is going to send me another replacement blade. Hopefully it will be different quality.

Cuisinart Food processor 14 cup. Metal pieces of the S blade is gone, cracked at the rivets on the blade housing. Not sure where the metal pieces are. Replaced the blade immediately, at my expense. That replacement blade did the exact same thing. Looked up the product on line, and saw there was a recall on the blade. Cuisinart sent me a replacement blade, which they said was re-engineered. However, now the new re-engineered blade doesn’t fit the machine. Sending this report to let you know this is a very serious fault to their design, and frustrated that my expensive unit still can’t be used.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart food processor. Model DLC-5BC. 7 cup capacity. Color silver. Plastic motor base and plastic motor shaft. Operating switch with three positions: “OFF”, “ON”, and “Pulse”. 120 V., 60 Hz.
I was using my Cuisinart food processor to grate raw zucchini. Immediately after I started using it (switched to the “ON” position, grating disc in place on the motor shaft, work bowl and lid in the closed and locked position for proper operation) I heard a cracking sound, then a short creak. When I removed the processor work bowl, I discovered that the plastic on the motor shaft had failed, fracturing all the way through: back to front and top to bottom of the shaft. I was not injured, but a few jagged pieces of plastic from the shaft are missing. I’m not sure where they went, given how fast the motor shaft spins. This is a failure such that I can no longer safely operate this product. I use this processor frequently, but not for any “tough” jobs. I treat this product with kid gloves, so this hardware failure is an unpleasant surprise. It’s Cuisinart model DLC-5BC. Color silver, 7 cup capacity, 120 V., 60 Hz., Max. 5 Amps. (This model was also included in the earlier 2016 product recall, involving failure of the chopping blades at the rivets.)

While unpacking Nd assembling for first time my new Cuisinart FP-12N Elite, 1. I accidentally pushed the “on” button, and with the lid still part way open, the blades began spinning. 2. I immediately reported it to Cuisinart customer service on February 12, 2018 via a phone call they said is recorded. 3. I also reported this product to Amazon.com because I ordered it through their web site on February 5, 2018. 4. The Amazon customer service rep told me to post a review with a video showing the problem, and I did so just moments ago, today, February 12, 2018. 5. The video on Amazon is short. I can send U a link to the 2-min video that I emailed to customerservice@cuisinart.com. 6. The blade on my Cuisinart model DFP-14BCNY 14-Cup #60706cs comes detached from the stem when slicing. The blade comes to the top of the lid and has gouged out the top from hitting the lid. If I wasn’t quick to stop the machine the bade could crack the top. I have been in communication with Cuisinart several times. The machine has been sent back twice and the problem is still not fixed. Cuisinart has issued a call tag for the third time I will be sending the machine back to them. I have asked for a refund. I do believe that there is no current fix for this machine. It appears to be an issue with the stem and blade not keeping contact. I have owned another Cuisinart food processor that was 35 years old with no difficulty. [REDACTED]

Grating blade for Cuisinart DLC7-E. After I registered for the recall for the cutting blade I went through all of my blades to check for rivets. The fixed stem grating blade had 3 rivets which held it on. These were missing and thankfully we were not aware that they had been lost into our food. I called the companies consumer help line and I was appalled to hear that I could purchase a new blade from them. They were not concerned that my family and friends could have been injured. You need to inform the public about this danger. The recall should be for all blades with rivets.

The product, in the report: This is a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Food Processor. The blade is a two-part plastic piece that twists apart for cleaning. The plastic ring housing the metal blade (which itself is in two parts) is cracked completely through in several places. This seems dangerous to me, especially for a food processor! The blade itself has the following stamped on it: Sharp FP-099TX. Please note this small appliance has been used very lightly and sporadically through the years. It has never been subject to extreme conditions or high heat, always hand washed and air dried before reassembling and storing on the counter top. I have photos of this problem, but your photo/file upload feature does not work either with my iphone nor with my PC laptop.
The Cuisinart-Conair recall of Food processor blades (2016-2017) prompted a close inspection of my mini-prep food processor, also manufactured by Cuisinart. This small processor has a model number DLC-1TX, Type 21. The two part standard (but small) blade has this number stamped on one of the blades: SHARP FP-099TX. Inspection of the hollow ring housing the blade(s) reveals several cracks in the plastic that extend through the plastic completely. This small appliance has been only lightly and infrequently used through the years, always hand-washed and allowed to air dry in a semi-arid environment. This kind of breakdown should not be occurring. I am afraid the blade will come completely out of its housing, and I will discontinue use of it.

A 2 year old Cuisinart [REDACTED] has a blade encased in plastic with no rivets. The plastic is cracked and a bit of plastic is missing. The instructions for each machine do not state that the blades must be inspected before and after each use to be sure customers don’t ingest bits of plastic and metal. Meals are not often prepared in our home and the machines are used only 3 or 4 times a year, at holiday gatherings or family events like graduations. We are careful to follow instructions on use and cleaning of all of our appliances. I first tried to report this unsafe situation to the recall line at 877-339-2534. They referred me to the company general customer service dept at 800-726-0190 and the representative was not at all concerned that there were unsafe products. Her only interest was that I understood that I could buy a new blade, but because the machines are past the one year warranty and not covered by the recall there was not any other option. I tried a second time to warn that customers need to know they can also be hurt by blades not covered by the recall, and there was no interest. I asked for a supervisor and was told no supervisors were available. I plan to discard all 3 machines as I am appalled by the lack of quality and the lack of concern in how the unsafe blades are being handled by Cuisinart. I have a Cuisinart food processor that I was using to prepare guacamole. A 1”+ piece of metal broke off the riveted blade in the guacamole. Fortunately I found the piece before I served it. This happened about a month before the Cuisinart blade recall. I sent the information for the large blade (which had not broken) and mentioned that the smaller blade had broken. I finally received the replacement blade for the larger processor (3 months after the claim). There was no replacement for the smaller blade. I called customer service and was told the smaller blades were not recalled. I can’t imagine that the smaller blade defect would be less dangerous. Accidentally swallowing a 1” piece of metal could do some harm. The fact that it is small makes it more dangerous

I can inform those I gifted but feel there might be a danger for consumers generally.
To be sure, I wish to say that I did not have an incident to report but am concerned for others. I will gladly send a picture if you wish one.

The product, in the report: Cusinart DFP-14BCN (type 33) - 14 cup Food Processor
Cusinart DFP-14BCN (type 33). I received the replacement blade. But I still have a problem. We put the Workbowl Cover (lid) on (using the slicing disk). The lid closed tightly. We used the plusher to feed celery into the top hole and that’s when the problem occurred. The plunger hit the slicing blade and the plunger was mangled. The bowl is slightly cracked at the base. The lid is cracked. If the slicing disc or the lid were not on properly, the machine should not have been operable. I would like replacement parts for (1) Workbowl Cover, (2) Pusher and (3) Bowl.

The Cuisinart Smart Power Duet Blender/Food Processor (Model BFP 703) is NOT on the recall list. It is extremely dangerous as the Riveted Blade is already cracked and a piece is missing off the blade. When I called regarding the product and its dangerous blade, I was told I could pay for a blade replacement. Please stop people from using this product, and add it to the RECALL list. Many consumers cannot afford to replace a defective part that is dangerous to use.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart food prep 7
I put in a claim in December 2016 regarding the cracking of the blade on our cuisinart food processor, to cuisinart, after learning about the recall on television. I have called several times regarding when we will receive the replacement blade. I was told this morning it will be in July now!! I find this unsatisfactory, and when I voiced my concern to cuisinart, I was offered a cook book for compensation!!!! We have not been able to use our food processor for 3 months now, and this has been a huge inconvience to us. We have decided to purchase a new processor, but NOT a cuisinart, since they are not willing to make a decent compensation for us. We find this to be extremely inconvient for us in our daily household cooking preparations, in which we had no fault in this situation, We hope you can do something about this unfair situation by the cuisinart company. Thank you. [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Pink Mini Prep Food Processor
This consumer is reporting her mini food processor, which was purchased during the summer of 2014 and used only one time.
It is pink in color in honor of breast cancer research.
It is made in China.
During the recent recall of the larger Cuisinart food processor blades, she also checked her smaller Cuisinart mini, which is currently not on the Cuisinart recall list. She saw that from the underside of the plastic blade holder, where the two blades are located, it is starting to crack. The crack starts from the center of the bottom and is working its way towards the edge of one of the blades.
The blades are not cracked but will soon be separating from where they are attached to the plastic center holder.
She is sending a photo to the clearinghouse to request that they attach it to this incident report.
There are no injuries being reported.
She contacted the manufacturer, twice, who appears not to be interested.

We have a cusinart chopper [REDACTED] which has a recall on the blade. We registered two months ago and today I was told that there is a back order for the new blades. We were told not to use the machine so we have an expensive piece of equipment that cannot be used for who knows how long due to defective manufacture of the blade.
secondly we have a cusinart mini chopper SN#20918 Model DLC1 S on which the collar that holds the blade in place is broken on one side and cracked on the other. When we called Cusinart about this they responded that it is not on recall and we will have to purchase a new blade for this machine. RE;Cuisinart Recall
To Whom it May Concern, I saw the channel 7 news report on the recall of the Cuisinart food processors. I then looked at my Cuisinart processor. To my surprise it had the four rivets along with cracks on the plastic above and under the two blades where they are attached. My model # is AFP7
The model numbers recalled were:
[REDACTED]
I then called Cuisinart and told them of my processor and that my model number is AFP7. I was told since it was not one of the above model numbers I was not covered, and I have to pay for a replacement. That puts all who have a different model number at risk, such as,our babies, families , friends and even our pets. Why do we have to wait until one of them get hurt for them to do anything?
They know they put out a defective processor and should take responsibility for all that are defective. I also called channel 7 and I was told they’d get back to me, they never did.
Please don’t wait for someone to get hurt before something is done.
Sincerely, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor, Color: white Model DLC-10S TX (Type 25)
I was using the slicing blade on my Cuisinart food processor. Suddenly the machine shuddered and I can only describe what happened inside the bowl as an implosion. The stem had broken--therefore pieces of its plastic, a spring, and of course the slicing blade flew around the bowl. The bowl contained the debris but was itself broken.
The stem on this model is curved, and the slicing and shredding blades have a weight on them to counterbalance the curve in the stem. I believe it is this curved stem that is the cause of the implosion. All food processors I have looked at since the incident (including Cuisinart models on the market now) have straight stems. I believe this model was unwisely engineered and then made on the cheap, though not sold on the cheap.,
Customer Service at Cuisinart was interested only in selling me replacement stem and bowl. They never acknowledged my concern about the safety of their product.

A bad blade is not the only problem with Cuisinart food processors.
I have model DLC-8, which I received as a gift two or three years ago. Soon after, the blade broke and the company sent me a new one. Now that replacement blade is subject to recall. I have contacted the company to receive another one.
More recently, just before Thanksgiving, the plastic latch that connects the lid to the bowl snapped off.
I owned a Cuisinart for nearly 30 years and never had a problem. This new one is nothing but trouble. It appears that Cuisinart’s manufacturing standards have fallen. Why?
I so regret that I gave away my old processor. This new one is junk.

The product, in the report: food processor
I had a Cuisinart model DFP TX food processor. It was an old one and I had replaced the lid twice because the tab that held it in place broke. I replaced the bowl once because the new lids did not fit the old bowl. The spring loaded pin on the work bowl that connects into the main part of the processor as a safety device jammed. I was able to remove the lid but not the bowl. After unsuccessfully attempting to get it released, we finally decided to at least try to get the food out and clean it. When I went to tilt it, I accidentally pushed the button and it started up without the lid on. Needless-to-say, that spinning blade could have been very dangerous and fortunately I was not injured although I was not too happy about the mess. Yes, I realized immediately that I had not unplugged it but I honestly didn’t think it would run.

The product, in the report: SmartPower Duel Chrome Blender / food processor
I had used the food processor to shred some potato. While eating, I bit on a small piece of white plastic. Didn’t cause any real injury and I didn’t think much of it other than I couldn’t think where it had come from. A few days later, the news was reporting about the recalled blades. I must point out that although my processor has a blade like the one in the recall, it wasn’t the blade I was using to shred. But, the story made me look closer at the blade. I could see that the white plastic shaft had failed and shed parts into the food.
I then looked at the other blade liked the one described in the recall. My blade has the four rivets and there are indeed cracks in the metal at two of them.
I have obviously stopped using both blades, so no longer have a food processor. I’m concerned that my model # isn’t on the recall since I have the defective blade. I’m also concerned that the other blade failed at the shaft and there has been no mention of that risk.
I’m hoping you can assist me in obtaining two safe blades and also considering if the recall doesn’t include all the products it should.

The Cuisinart DLC-10E food processor 4mm slicing disk (part number FP-104) was being used to slice cabbage to make cole slaw. I noticed that the slicing disk was making noise and, upon inspection, I saw that the rivets that attach the metal slicing disk to the plastic stem were loose. The plastic stem was cracked where the rivets attach to it and the plastic from the stem was loose in the food processor. There are three rivets that hold the plastic stem to the slicing disk and two of the rivets have been compromised, rendering the blade unsafe and unusable. No injuries were sustained, but the potential for accidental ingestion of plastic from the stem or being hit by it exists.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart DLC2007 N. Processor shook, stopped it and noticed the blade which cracked the base. I threw out everything in the food processor and so NO one was actually hurt.
I was using the Cuisinart food processor. I told them that the blade had a problem and then cracked the base of the food processor # DLC2007N. I later found out that there is a recall on these blades and I need to get a new blade but also my base is cracked. I think they should replace the entire unit. I really like it but a piece chipped off and created a big problem.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer
I have the Cuisinart Baby Food Maker & Bottle Warmer. I used it to steam and process carrots for my baby. Upon rewarming them up, in a microwave safe dish, the carrots started to spark due to metal in the microwave. The blade of the food processing part released metal shavings into the carrots.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart mini prep DLC-2 food processor
I have a cuisinart DLC2 min prep food processor that has two obvious cracks at the rivets in the metal blade however I just called cuisinart and they informed me despite this obvious defect my machine is not “covered by the recall” but they would gladly sell me a blade for about 20$ I think this blade is about to fly apart and presents the same hazard as with all the other riveted blades that were recalled. Not sure why CPSC did not include this machine in its recall...

The product, in the report: 3-cup food processor with riveted blade that has cracked and has metal shards
I have a 3-cup Cuisinart food processor (DFP-3) that has a cracked blade. The blade has metal shards that are about to fall off and looks just like the larger recalled units. Cuisinart has refused to replace this blade and has told me the unit is safe to use. The unit clearly poses a laceration hazard and should be added to the Cuisinart recall!

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor Model DLC-10E
An article about the Cuisinart food processor blade recall said the CPSC would like reports of blade breakage. My DLC-10E Cuisinart blade shattered while processing hummus in February 2016. I did not file any complaint, but ordered a new blade from Cuisinart’s website. After waiting over a month with the status of Backorder, I cancelled my order. In June I placed another order, and received a new blade that is constructed differently; presumably they had fixed the problem. The blade cost $52 which Cuisinart will not reimburse, but will instead send me a replacement blade per the recall program. I don’t need a second blade, but I guess I should have asked for a replacement back in February.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor model DLC2009CHB
I was using my Cuisinart food processor to make the filling for a sweet potato pie. As I poured the pie filling into a bowl, I noticed a dark fleck of metal in the mix. I saw a similarly shaped piece missing on the underside of the food processor blade. I managed to remove the metal piece from the filling but I was not comfortable eating the pie and threw it out to avoid injury. I have been trying to find a replacement blade and was unsuccessful. I saw the recall notice and finally realized why I couldn’t find a blade. Honestly, the most frustrating part of this has been the difficulty from not being able to use my food processor.

The product, in the report: SmartPower Duet
The consumer states that her unit is not included in the recall but she believes her unit should be included because her blade looks exactly like the blade on the recall.
The consumer states that the model # for the part that houses the blade is “AFP7” and the model # for the part that houses the motor is “FPB5BK (TX5).” The consumer could not find one model number for the entire unit.
The consumer called the firm’s customer service and expressed her safety concerns. The consumer was advised that she could not receive the replacement blade because her model was not recalled and they could not assist her.
The consumer then went to the firm’s recall site (recall.cuisinart.com) and went through the questions. The consumer states that her model was not listed but she selected the first model # on the drop down menu and she filled out the contact form ([REDACTED]). The consumer states that she left a message in the comments section requesting the firm to include her unit in the recall because she believes it could also present the same safety hazard.
The consumer’s daughter received this unit as a wedding gift sometime in 2006.

The product, in the report: Cuisinart Food Processor DLC2009CHB
On approximately December 4th I was mixing Christmas cookies, using my Culslnart DLC2009 to chop pecan halves, when the side of the clear mixing container cracked. In addition to that the top of the lid to the mixing container began to crack at the safety lock point. I did use It again later to cream sume butter, but when I held the safty lock lid down (as it would not mix without me doing so), the plastic broke even further & it is now unusable. When I went online to report this Incident, there was a recall on the blade. I am not certain If the blade lifted up whlld chopping the nuts or if it was simply inferior plastic materials which caused the damage, but the food processor no longer can be used with te broken lid & mixing container. Please note: this Is my second Culslnart Food Processor & my first one I purchased in about 2012, had a problem with the plastic mixing container cracking also. I think it creates an unsafe situation becuse the plastic could crack become weak & break Into pieces while In use.

The product, in the report: Food processor blade
I have a Cuisinart model DLC2011BC. In July, 2014, I noticed the metal blade was cracked at the rivets and pieces of the metal were missing. At that time I bought a new blade and discraded the old blade. Though I assume the metal pieces were lost in the processing of food, no one was injured as a result.
