    I was making a cup of coffee with my keurig k10 mini and I noticed that water started to spurt out of every crack and crevice. It has never done that before so I immediately noticed and went over to check it out. My natural reaction was to open the top lid where you insert the pod thinking the water would stop but instead it exploded out at me and when I went to protect my face it hit my hand leaving me with a major burn and a few blisters.

When we got it we noticed a minor hole on the side but it caused no conflict until two months after the purchase, then we stopped using it for about 5 months and then we recently started to use it and now its completely unusable.

    I purchased a keurig mini off amazon this summer (August 2014). I noticed after using it, it spits hot water. I cleaned it out thinking that was the problem, but it’s continuing to spit hot water, which makes it slightly concerning to use. When I saw a safety recall on them, I knew mine had a problem! I’m still using it, but I have to be extremely careful around it and I had to move it farther into the counter to avoid getting hit by hot water.

    I received an email from Amazon where I purchased the Keurig K10/B31 MINI Plus Brewing System, Black. The machine DID NOT cause any physical harm because when hot water started coming our of the dispenser I was not handling it as such but there was hot water. This does not happen all the time. I thought that when it happened that it was dirty so I cleaned it but it happen while cleaning it and shortly after it was clean. Actually it seems to be very temperamental. Not having this item before I thought perhaps it was normal or that I was putting more water than its capacity.

    I had my cup and was brewing a second cup (was not consecutive) to take to work with me and the hot coffee was spurting out, it did burn my hand as I was trying to stop it but I thought I put the cup in wrong. I did not report this incident, nor was I injured to the point that it warranted a visit to the hospital. I ran my hand under the faucet right away and the burns were uncomfortable for a couple days.

    I plugged my Keurig in and turned the power on. I put in a K-Cup and filled the water tank with 8 oz of water, and pressed Brew. Within a minute, it started to brew and very little water came out with some coffee grounds. I added another 8 oz of water and pressed brew again. This time the hot water started squirting out everywhere, loudly...but didn’t even fill my 8 oz cup, and coffee grounds all in it. It made a big mess and made me wonder, “where is the water I put in?” This has happened on more than one occasion.

I ran my hands under cold water for a good 10 minutes. They were both red but didn’t bubble blister so I didn’t go to the hospital. I put some burn creme on them and after a few days they stopped hurting.

    Went to make coffee ..the maker stopped ...i waited about 2 minutes longer ..opened the top to see if the water was out and it shot hot liquid on my pants ..it was a gift so I don’t know where it was purchased. I threw it away in December 2014 for fear of it happening again. If I had know about the recall I would have sent it in for repair..i did call and I never had anyone return my call so I forgot about it eventually until today when I looked it up .I’m angry now that I know it could have been replaced...I’ve missed it and just threw away several boxes of outdated hot chocolate and apple cider.

    The water coming out of the machine is too hot! Several times I have almost burned myself picking up the mug not realizing that it would so much hotter then it usually was when I first got it. Due to the temperature of the water I have almost burned myself a couple times and in one circumstance I even dropped the mug on the kitchen floor. The machine always spits out water from the spout also right before the brew finishes and makes mess of things.

    Every time I brew anything in my keurig mini, it ends up draining water from the bottom of the product.     I have the Keurig single serve coffee maker. Several weeks ago I put coffee grounds in a refillable single serve container, added the water to the machine and proceeded as usual. In the middle of it making coffee the machine made a sound (almost like frying something very hot). It spitted quite a bit of hot water out of the machine from the area where the hot coffee should come out. It had blown the coffee grounds and a little water into the cup. I cleaned up the machine and it has not happened since.

    I was making a cup of coffee this morning and while waiting for it to finish brewing water began spraying out from the spout missing the cup, and when I went to move the cup thinking that the cup was in the wrong place, I was burnt. I told my family about it, and they mentioned that there was a recall on the item. However, I am upset 1 that my hand is burnt, and 2, that I am supposed to wait on some magic repair to this machine. So I thought I would go ahead and report the item as I believe Keurig should be accountable for the item. I do not see why I should be inconvenienced while I “await repair.” I have never had this problem with our company Keuring, and I personally believe that upgrading is a better solution than repairing a cost that I am more than willing to take on to prevent my WIFE, or even worse my child from being burnt.

    I own a Keurig Mini Plus Brewer that I purchased at Target in January 2013. A couple months ago, I made a cup of coffee and steam started to pour out of the top of the Keurig (from where the water goes in). I left the Keurig alone for a couple days after this incident. A few days later I made another cup of coffee, and again steam poured out of the top. This time I flipped open the lid where the water goes in, and THE HEATING ELEMENT INSIDE WAS GLOWING ORANGE!. I immediately called Keurig to ask if there was a recall on this product and to report what happened. The foreign girl who answered wouldn’t give me any information and wouldn’t answer any questions without first taking all of my information. After she couldn’t understand the address that I gave her three times, I hung up. I haven’t used the Keurig since, although I do still have it stored away.

    I do not believe that a “repair” is the best way to remedy this situation. I am not confident that I am (nor most consumers) capable of safely fixing an electrical issue like this. An electrical issue such as this should be left to qualified electricians, and the Keurig Company should completely replace the entire unit for free.

    I recently heard about the Keurig recall and didn’t think much about it, since I had purchased my coffee maker over a year ago and had not had any problems with it. This morning as I attempted to make a cup of coffee, hot water sprayed out of the top of the coffee maker, where the lid closes over the k-cup. I was a foot or so away from the maker, so I wasn’t sprayed by the hot water directly, it just sprayed all over my desk. It certainly could have sprayed on me if I were closer to the pot. Unlike the description in the recall, this did not happen when making a second cup of coffee in rapid succession. I had not used the coffee maker at all in over a week.

    On 12/11/14 purchased the Keurig mini coffee maker from Kohls Department Store online. On 12/18/14 while at work I used my mini Keurig maker serial 31.2019.01521861 to make tea. While using the Keurig machine my hand was scalded while trying to pickup the cup. I suffered 2nd degree burns to my right hand and was admitted to the Emergency Room at Bristol Hospital. The doctors at the hospital could not believe a burn like I had occurred from a Keurig machine because the temperature is not high enough. On 12/22/14 Keurig came forward with a recall on the mini -Keurig. My serial numbers in the recall are: 31.2019.0000001 through 31.2019.0117035. The company needs to test the machines in my batch. I have my machine and I am happy to have it tested. I fear that people using my serial number range will suffer the same fate. The entire top of my right hand is burned.

    The product, in the report: There seems to be some kind of problem while making coffee and the hot coffee overflowing. Luckily, no one was hurt. The water doesn’t want to stay in the refill section of the machine, either.

    I purchased Keurig Model 40 and I’ve had a few incidents where the coffee maker would not stop brewing and overflowed hot coffee all over me and my kitchen cabinet.

    I also have a mini red Keurig brewer and was wondering if that is under recall? It was the first colored design that came out in small brewers from Keurig at Kohl’s.

    Also, if these models are under recall, what do I need to do to get a refund or replacement?

    The consumer stated that about 3 weeks ago she purchased a Keurig mini brewing system that had issues with hot water collecting in the reservoir. The consumer contacted the manf and was sent a replacement. The consumer was asked to discard the problem unit.

    The consumer received her replacement brewing system on 12/22/14. The consumer stated that the replacement unit fails to shut off. The consumer stated that she used the unit and it worked normally. The unit still kept buzzing after the coffee was brewed. The consumer unplugged the unit and the buzzing stop. The consumer plugged it back in and the buzzing started again. The consumer followed troubleshooting recommendation in the manual. The unit continued to buzz as soon as she plugged it in

    The consumer contacted the manf regarding the issue on 12/23/14. The consumer was passed through various departments. The consumer was not informed about recall on the unit. The consumer was passed onto numbers that kept going busy.

    The consumer asked to have a shipping label sent out so she can return the unit for them to inspect. They kept asking her to discard the unit. The consumer is still waiting to receive the shipping label.

    The consumer stated that the manf did not seem interested in detecting the issue of the unit since they kept asking her to throw it away. The consumer is worried that if someone does not realize that the unit fails to shut off, it can cause a fire.

    Individual coffee maker gushes hot water into pods and they explode and spray coffee grounds and hot water. There were no injuries, but once the coffee maker did this, it constantly did it. I tried different coffee pod brands and they all exploded. The coffee maker was cleaned regularly with vinegar and with coffee pods made for cleaning. There had been no trouble before and I finally tossed the pot out and replaced it. I have pictures of the mess it made. I contacted Keurig and was offered a discount on another coffee maker. I declined and replaced it myself with the same exact coffee pot and the same color. It was Keurig Mini Plus B31 Brewer. I do not have the serial number.

    The product, in the report: Keurig Mini Plus Coffee maker

    I have a Keurig Mini Plus machine as mentioned in the recall, but my serial number does not fall in the recalled set of numbers (31.2000.0798767). My reason for reporting is that approximately 8 out of 10 uses of the machine cause the water to leak out of the bottom while its brewing. I’ve luckily never been burned and have tried to find online message boards with repair ideas. The only idea I found was to clean a gasket near the piercing needle - I did that but it did not fix the problem.

    While brewing coffee, my Keurig mini brewer shot hot water and coffee grounds out of the front of the machine. I was standing at the counter, and I did notice it was hot. Coffee grounds flew on the counter and about. I thought it was because it was plugged, cleaned the coffee maker thoroughly as per owner’s manual, and it has been working fine since then.

    After reading and hearing about the recall, I realized that was one of the reported reasons.

    The second time I used my new Keurig Special Edition coffeemaker, I found a sliver of metal approximately 1 inch in length in the bottom of my cup. I could have swallowed it and done irreparable harm to my organs. This is a serious, potentially life-threatening occurence. Consumers should be warned and Keurig should determine what the problemIs and fix it. I have retained the 2 K-cups and the sliver of metal involved.

    (11/18/2013) The consumer stated that she had a cup of coffee and was getting ready for work She walked back through the kitchen and saw that the product was glowing orange. The consumer unplugged the product . The consumer stated that the part that you put the water in flipped open and started billowing smoke. The consumer stated that she threw the product outside to get it out of the house.

    (11/18/2013) The consumer called the manufacturer. The consumer explained what happened. The consumer was asked to prepare the product for FEDEX to pick up. The consumer was advised that a new product would be sent to her. The consumer advised the manufacturer that she did not want to send them the product until she did more research.     My Keurig B70 brewer stopped pumping water for the brew cycle. I called Keurig customer support and the representative walked me through several trouble shooting tasks. The unit still failed to function and the representative said that it was not repairable. She offered me a replacement brewer at a reduced cost as the warranty had expired on mine a few months earlier. I accepted the offer and was instructed to return only the K-cup holder and then dispose of the old brewer.

    Prior to disposing of the old brewer I took it apart out of curiosity. I found what appeared to be two electrically actuated water valves at the top of the brewer. Both valves had stains and corrosion consistent with long-term water leakage at the lower seals. The valves had been leaking directly above a transformer which was also water stained.

    Below the transformer was a pump which was stained and corroded, and appeared to be the component that had failed.

    I own two brewers identical to the one that failed, and I am concerned that there may be a safety issue if they also contain leaky valves.

    I have a Keurig Elite Coffee Maker that is about 4 years old. It has started coming on by itself. I press the power button to off but if I leave it plugged in it will come on, heat the water and dispense the hot water continually until the water storage bin is empty, then it will continue to try to pump.

    The first time it started on it’s own I was within hearing distance and hear the sound of the water running out. I have been unplugging it since but the other day I forgot and the above episode happened where it kept pumping out hot water till the bin was empty. However, you could hear the pump trying to pump more water. Since the unit has a program that is supposed to stop pumping when the water is low and engage a warning light to tell me that it needs more water, that function must not be functioning either.

    It works if I make a cup and unplug it when I’m done but if this is happening to others....as it is because there are movies of it happening on You tube....if this had happened when I wasn’t home I fear it would have caught fire as the water bin must have been hot because it is not a little warped.

    Have owned a Keurig Coffee Brewer for a year or so and it is positioned on the kitchen counter near other appliances including a toaster oven. I discovered today that the cord on the Keurig is not made of heat resistant material. The cord was in close proximity to the toaster and it melted causing an electrical flash. Neither the toaster oven was on or the Keurig although I had just toasted some bread minutes earlier. No one was hurt and the circuit breaker was tripped. Upon inspection both electrical wires were exposed. The irony is the ground wire looks like it is covered with a heat resistant coating as it remained unmelted. Would be great if all kitchen appliance were required to have heat resistant cords due to the proximity to heated appliance such as skillets, toasters, crock pots, rice cookers, rotisseries and small ovens. I don’t believe this product is safe for consumers. I guess I need to throw this $180 appliance away!

    Keurig Coffee Brewer model # 65, 0100, 1753164 We smelled something burning and it turned out that the brewer was smoking and smelled like it was burning although there were no flames, the back of the unit was very hot; I immediately unplugged the unit from the wall outlet and called Keurig customer service.     The consumer says the unit spontaneously start spraying hot water all over the place. The consumer says this does not occur while its in use. This only happens when the product is not in use. The consumer contacted the manufacturer who told her it is out of warranty so there is nothing they can do. She says it splashed her in the past and almost on her 10 year old daughter this afternoon according to her husband. This has happened about 5 times since February 2012.UPDATE: 4/6/12- Keurig rep agreed to replace the product at reduced price (about 35% off retail price ($119 to $79)

    Since reporting my safety concerns with the new instructions provided for use on the Keurig B70 coffee machine, the machine has now shorted out and failed. Attached are images of the problem. They show that a solenoid at the top of the machine leaking water. This water then leaks down over the main power transformer, and then down into the electric pump causing the failure.
