The product, in the report: HP Laptop DZ 2000
Consumer wanted to report that his battery in his HP laptop gets very hot to the touch and burned his lap. He stated that the laptop on was on his lap and on for a few hours. The laptop did not emit smoke or have a burning odor. At the time he burned himself, the consumer was using the laptop with the A/C adapter plugged in. The consumer stated that the battery is normally very hot to the touch when the adapter is plugged. He feels that specifically the battery is a burn hazard as the ones mentioned in release 09-221. The consumer report no problems with the computer and the computer has never been serviced. When the consumer burned himself the laptop was on his lap and the computer itself seems to get very hot not the A/C adapter. The computer shows no sign of damage the consumer didn’t experience any electric shock. He contacted the manufacturer and the retailer today. He cannot recall the names of the people he spoke to but stated they offered to do nothing for him. The consumer stated the product is still usable. The consumer felt it was imperative to report this product.
