The product, in the report: Pampers Easy Ups Size 3T-4T, 23 per package
My son wore a Pampers Easy Ups size 3t-4t one time for 1 hours and 30 minutes. He began screaming and pointing to his diaper area that it hurt. He was hysterical. When we took off the pull up his diaper area was hot and red - it looked like a burn. Previous to putting on the Easy Up he had no rash and he did not have a bowel movement while wearing it. He has not had a change in diet or any other reason that would cause a “rash” like this. He wore it for less than 2 hours which I do not feel is a long time to be wet - I am also assuming he was not wet the minute he put it on. This appeared to be a chemical burn.
He screamed throughout the night whenever he urinated. He was in so much pain that he was shaking. I called our pediatrician and we are treating him at home for now. It has been 3 days and the burn is improving slightly. When I spoke with the nurse at the pediatrician she stated that I should find out what is in their diapers that would cause this.
When I called Pampers to report this incident I asked what chemicals are in their products so that I could figure out what had caused this reaction on my son. There response was that their diapers are chemical free. Huh? It is blue and scented and I know that cotton or cellulose, whatever substrate they use, does not grow in nature this way. I think they should provide a MSDS for the product on request. Also, they should be honest about the processing. While there may not be any chemicals sprayed on the diaper at the last step, there ARE chemicals used in processing. Symantics.
I understand that kids get diaper rash. My son is 3 and I also have a 7 year old daughter. I have been a parent using diapers for many years - using Pampers products for most of those years. I know what a normal diaper rash looks like. This was not normal.

The product, in the report: Pamper’s Cruisers Diaper Size 3
My child developed a severe leg rash from Pamper’s Cruisers Diapers. He developed the rash within the day of switching him to the Cruisers from Baby Dry. The rash is severe and not going away with typical diaper cream. These diapers should not be allowed on the market with the incidents and the severity of my child’s rash and others I have since heard about.

The product, in the report: pamper diapers
I have been using pampers for about 2 years. I noticed a diaper rash on my daughter from about 6 months of age that would not go away. I was told by my pediatrician that it ws a yeast infection and it will go away with cream. Although the cream helped to a degree, the “burn like” appearance was always there. About 4 weeks ago, my daughter got the worse “rash” i had ever seen on a baby. I started doing research on the type of diaper I was using and came across a site that provided information about other parents who had trouble with rash’s associated with pampers. Upon reading this information, I read someone describe the rash as looking like a chemical burn. That’s exactly what my daughter has. We changed diapers and within 2 days the redness was relieved and she was no longer in pain. I am telling everyone who uses pampers to stop. I firmly believe the issue with my daughter was caused by Pampers and I would like something to be done about it.

The product, in the report: Pampers Diapers, Baby Dry line
I usually use Pampers Sensitive line of diapers for both of my children. Recently, my son needed a bigger size that I could not find in Sensitive, so I decided to settle for the Pampers Baby Dry line. I started using the Baby Dry that morning, and by the afternoon my son had a horrible rash and blisters on his buttocks and inner thighs. He had not gone longer than a couple of hours between changes. The rash resembled a burn in areas, with bright pink. red patches with several blisters. I believe this was in direct link with the change in diapers. The Baby Dry line is not as soft as the other lines and appears not only to be made of different material but has a chemical smell. I believe that this line of Pampers is unsafe and should be discontinued.

The product, in the report: Pampers Dry Max size 5
My son has developed rashes from the Pampers Dry Max Diapers. We attempted to use the Pampers without Dry max only to find they were just not marked. We have gone to doctors and received creams that are not working. This evening, it flared up so bad, hives developed on his torso. He was screaming because he didn’t know what to do. We are currently switching to cloth diapers. At one point, I was very pleased with the product. If something is wrong, consumers need to know. We would respect the company a lot more if the mistake is admitted!

The product, in the report: Diapers
I have been dealing with a horrible diaper rash on my 14 month old daughter for several months. She has been seen by two different doctors and I have tried just about every suggestion known to man to make it better including diaper rash ointments, steroid creams, antifungal creams, powders, changes in diet, etc. The rash would come and go and resembles a horrible sunburn, blisters. When it healed it would peel and then return. I have gone back and forth with different diapers since she was born but have pretty much stayed consistant with Pampers Cruisers, but every now and again Pampers baby dry. With her most recent outbreak, I realized that when I went up to a size 4 diaper, I bought the Pampers baby dry. About halfway through this package of Pampers baby dry, she broke out with the worst rash yet. It extended up her back and down her legs even. She seemed to be extremely uncomfortable, waking up through the night crying and itching at her bottom. I switched Diaper brands completely and it immediately heeled. I believe the chemicals that are in the Pampers Baby Dry diapers caused horrible chemical burn on my baby’s bottom. I feel like they should warn parents about this and they should be taken off the market.

The product, in the report: Diapers
This is the second time Pampers diapers have caused a severe and painful reaction on my son’s skin. We’ve been faithful consumers of the brand since he was a newborn, but once he grew out of the Swaddlers category we started buying Cruisers. In most cases, there has been no problem except an unpleasant chemical smell coming from the diapers. But two months ago, my husband bought a box that was labeled “sensitive” because it was the only one remaining on the shelf. Our son woke up in the middle of the night screaming and shaking and was inconsolable until I took the diaper off, at which point he began clawing at his groin area and then screamed some more. The area was bright red and raw-looking. We threw out this $50 package of diapers and swore we would never buy anything with the “sensitive” label again.
But the same thing happened last night with another package of Cruisers. They’re fine at first but as soon as they’re wet, my son is screaming in pain. It may just be a bad batch, but I will not risk buying another box of Pampers again.

We have had the diapers for about 5 days. Yesterday 1/05/2012 my 2 yr old got very wet and the result was a really dark red rash with blisters from back to front. She has had rashes before but this was not comparable. We thought maybe somthing she drank, but her diet consisted of nothing new. Today she had urine and poop and had a worse reaction and we had just changed her diaper and was fine. The amount of time between diaper change was not more than 30 min. the reaction today was worse. Blisters contain fluid and very very painful. Almost looks like 2 degree burns.

The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max, size 2 and size 3
I have tried to use Pampers Cruisers diapers with Dry Max for my son on 3 separate occasions since he was born (he is now 12 months old). All three time he has developed a terrible diaper rash after approximately 24 hours of diaper use. I change his diapers every 3 hours, or more often if needed, except at night when he sleeps. I tried using the diapers in conjunction with a diaper rash cream (Desitin, Balmex, other brands), but he still developed the rash after a short time of use. When I would discontinue use of the diapers the rash would disappear without any further treatment after 2 to 3 days.

The product, in the report: Pampers Swaddlers
My son is 5 months old. Approx 3 weeks ago, I called pampers to complain because the cotton from inside the swaddlers diapers wrapped around the head of his penis, causing it to get infected. When his wound healed it also ‘healed’ the head of his penis back to the shaft of his penis, and now he may have to go back in to the doctors to have it cut. If they can not cut it in the office they said they will put a referral in to a surgeon to have it fixed. My son goes back to the doctors on Jan. 13 to find out what they plan to do.

The product, in the report: We used the Pampers Baby Dry size 4 when the burns occurred on my child’s bum.
I am so upset with the Pampers company right now. My parents thought they were doing the right thing by buying my 22 month old son the Pampers Baby Dry diapers when he was staying at their house, but the first diaper he wore during a nap caused a horrible rash that covered his entire bum and top of the back of his legs. He screamed for nearly 1 1/2 hours. There was no consoling him. I have never seen anything like this before.
I am so mad because I see on their website that people have complained about these diapers, but they deny that these babies’ rashes/chemical burns were caused by the Dry Max/Baby Dry diapers. I wrote them and told them that they cannot deny after this incident (which has never occurred before until he wore this kind of diaper) that the Baby Dry diapers were the cause of his horrific pain.

The product, in the report: pampers swaddlers, newborn (diapers)
My son is 3 wks old and we have been using the pampers swaddlers since birth. We had a great experience with using them with my 3 year old daughter, so we tried with my son. He has had a rash since birth. I attributed it to his getting used to his enviornment, the wipes, and the fact he was just a boy. We used washclothes now for 2 wks straight and used lots of ointment. We noticed a difference and improvement only after changing to [REDACTED] pampers. I am convinced it was the diapers. Its very unfortunate that this happened. My daughter only had reddness 1-2 times in her 1 1/2 years in diapers and my son got to experience this his first three weeks of life. :(

The product, in the report: Diapers size 3, pampers baby dry/cruisers, purchased two boxes from local Sams Club store...about 450 diapers total, cost of $90
We initially used pampers swaddlers up until my baby grew out of the sizes available. We then switched to pampers baby dry and cruisers(more premium of the pampers brand). After a week or so of using the diapers my son developed what we thought was usual diaper rash, but NOTHING cleared it up! We have found a store that carries the Swaddlers (dye free) in a size 3 and have switched to those, with in a matter a of DAYS the rash has begun to heal. It is a red, raised, and in some spots blistery. We have had it checked by the Dr. to rule out any other possible causes (yeast, etc) We have also used other brands of diapers ([REDACTED] brand...) without causing of this rash.
I have three other children, all of which we used pampers, and all without issue. I prefer pampers over other brands.
Hopefully Pampers will do something about his issue, or we will be forced to switch brands. Not sure what they changed, but it is definitely a pampers issue! I have over $90 in diapers here that can not be used, due to buying in bulk at a local Sams club....maybe they will allow a return?
Thanks, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Size 4 pampers cruisers with sesame street characters design.
I purchased a value box of size 4 pampers cruiser from the local Target retail for my 22 month old. Within a few days she developed a severe reaction as a result from switching her from another brand to this pampers. The pain and discomfort was experienced immediately displayed by my daughter’s behavior and irritability. I purchased several types of diaper rash cream as well as [REDACTED] ointment by the request of her pediatrician but it did not help at all. A week later, her genital and rectal area took on a more aggressive chemical burn with blisters and welts. That is when I eliminated any further use of this cruisers Pampers. I also informed her preschool to stop using it on her as we kept the supply there. It’s nearly 3 weeks later, and the redness is just starting to fade but the itchiness and discomfort lingers. My husband and I feel we have been misled as consumers by P&G and want to make sure this is reported and documented. I have kept the remaining unused diapers in the event further investigation is needed.

The product, in the report: Papmers Diapers Size 2
Within a couple of days of using a new brand of diaper (Pampers) my five month old developed the most terrible rash I have ever seen. Once I realized it was a result of the diapers I threw them out. I would have to say the rash is unlike any I have ever seen. I would say the “rash” looks more like a chemical burn. She actually developed blisters which began to bleed. She was in obvious pain. We have tried all kinds of remedies and nothing has helped. I have made an appointment with her Pediatrician. I was discussing this with a co-worker of mine and it turns out he was having the same problem and using the same type of diaper (Pampers drymax). I began to do some research so that I may notify Pampers. I was appalled to learn that this has already been investigated and nothing came of it. I do not wish to “get” anything out of this. I just do not want another baby to have to suffer like my daughter is. I have conducted many child abuse investigations in my line of work and again I can not stress enough to you how this looks like a chemical burn and not a rash.

The product, in the report: Pampers dry max cruisers
Hello,
My husband and I are both physicians and also parents. Our son is 15 months old and never had any major issues with diaper rash. We have used pamper diaper products since he was born. It wasn’t until we switched to the Dry max cruisers formula that he first began to develop severe rashes. Initially we thought it was due to his diet. So we began limiting certain food items. When that didn’t seem to work we started to be more aggressive with our diaper rash cream. We were using maximum strength items and I even consulted the NICU team at our hospital for recommendations on what they use to treat their patients with severe rashes. When those products also failed we suspected a possible fungal infection and used antifungal creams, although clinically it did not look fungal in origin, but in fact, more like a chemical burn with blistering. It wasn’t until a colleague of mine, who is also a pediatrician, mentioned the increased incidence of rashes associated with the diapers we were using. I immediately went out and purchased a different brand of diapers and literally within only several hours I already began to see a difference and it was completely gone within a few days and now several weeks later he has not had another one since!
I was very concerned with this rash, both by its appearance - chemical burn like in nature- and also by the significant amount of pain that it inflicted on my child. I have no doubt in my mind that this was due to the Dry max formula diapers, and although i have no controlled studies to confirm this hypothesis, it is in my professional opinion that this formula of diapers should be taken off the market.

The product, in the report: Diapers
Our baby [REDACTED] was born August 8, 2011 and I am her mother. We used Pampers Swaddler with Dry Max since she was brought home from the hospital. She began having a rash right away on her bum that persisted. Several visit to the doctor failed to clear the rash; we stopped using moist towelettes (opting instead for wet face cloths), we tried 3 different kind of medications (clotrimazole cream 1%, cortate ont 1%, nystatin), we dried her bum with a hair dryer every chance we got, changed her diapers very often...nothing worked! The rash persisted and got progressively worse. In the end she had open sores that bled - poor babe! Frustrated, I searched the internet determined to find a solution and finally stumbled upon articles about other parents who had went through the same problem and had traced it to the brand of diaper they were using: Pampers Swaddler with Dry Max. I went to [REDACTED] bedroom and confirmed that all her diapers since birth had been that brand/kind! We stopped using them and now [REDACTED] bum is 90% better after 1 week. This product should be discontinued OR come with a warning that the Dry Max component can be harmful to some babies.

The consumer stated that her 24 month old daughter is contracting blisters from her diapers. The size of the diapers are size 4. The consumer has had her daughter using the diapers for a week before contracting the blisters on the bottom of her rear. The consumer purchased 2 packages of these diapers. Each package has 160 diapers. The consumer has only been through half of one package before she stopped using the diapers. The consumer found that her daughter began contracting red bumps which became blisters.
The consumer went back to her daughter’s old diapers and saw her daughter’s symptoms decrease over time. The consumer decided to use the trouble diapers again after a month removed from initially stopping usage of these diapers. Her daughter again began contracting the blisters only a day after she started to use these diapers. Her blisters have the diameter of a number two pencil eraser. The consumer insists that no other factors have changed in her daughter’s diet or care patterns except for these diapers.
The consumer was doing some independent research and found numberous complaints from other consumers about these diapers. The consumer called the firm today and was told that they would send her 50 dollars worth of coupons. The consumer has yet to call the retailer but intends to go back there today. The consumer has used [REDACTED] to assuage her daughter’s blisters but has not taken her to a doctor. The consumer’s daughter is not on any medication that may afflict or exacerbate her condition and normally does not contract rashes.

This is the note I sent to Proctor and Gamble. Pampers Sensitive is the product referred to below.
Hello. I am a mother of 2 children, 19 months and 8 weeks. Up until recently, I have been a consumer of Pampers diapers, however, that has quickly changed. When my daughter was born in March 2010 we began using Pampers with Dry Max until we discovered she was having a severe reaction that caused blisters on her bottom. We immediately stopped using Pampers and reported it to them. She hasn.t had a problem since. When my son was born in August 2011, I decided to try Pampers again. The Swaddlers seemed to be okay for him, so we kept using them. Then we received a gift from a friend that was a box of the Sensitive diapers, he wore them for 2 days when I noticed his bottom was bright red and covered in blisters and he was screaming in pain constantly. Nothing had changed except the diapers, so we switched to [REDACTED]. The next day, his bottom was clear and blister free. As a mom and consumer I am highly upset that my newborn son was in such agony due to a diaper. I have decided that I will no longer promote Pampers and put my children through the pain they have both already suffered ever again. Please rescue other newborns that can’t express their discomfort to their mom’s that have no idea why their children are in such horrible pain and take the chemicals out of your diapers. I reported the problem I had with my daughter to the CPSC and I have already sent this exact report on this incident, as well. There is absolutely no cause for babies having to suffer.

The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers Size 4 diapers
My daughter has always used Pampers diapers from birth swaddlers and then cruisers, she is now in a size 4 pampers cruisers. About 4 months ago she started getting rashes on her bottom and above her private area. Diaper rash creams would not work and it kept getting worse, It became big marks like burns and was red and she would try to scratch it constantly. I took her to her dr who told me he didn’t know what it was maybe just really dry skin and try not to bathe her as often because the water could irritate it. Well I tried that and it still didn’t work and the rash began to look like it was only where her diaper covered she even had burn like marks on the sides of her hips where the diaper wraps around. At her one year check up in august I asked the dr again and he suggested [REDACTED], I put it on her and it would help clear it almost up and then it would flair up again worse. Looking back now I think the [REDACTED] of working like a barrier between her skin and the diaper. Finally this morning she didn’t sleep well last night and when she got up this morning there was blood in her diaper....it was so bad she had scratched it so bad there were big bloody scratches on her butt along with all of the big whelps from the rash. I researched it on the internet and saw there had been some problems with pampers because of a change they had made. I am definately buying her some different diapers today but I am so glad we found out what the problem was finally. Is there anyway I can reach Pampers to let them know how disaapointed I am?

The product, in the report: Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers with Dry Max technology.
My daughter developed a severe diaper rash that very much resembled a chemical burn shortly after Pampers came out with their new Dry Max technology. She was using the Swaddler’s version at the time. I typically don’t use wipes, only water and dry thoroughly, so I knew it had nothing to do with that. I never left her in wet/soiled diapers for prolonged periods, and her diet did not change at the time. I reported this to Pampers, as some of my friends experienced similar problems with their children, and Pampers denied any correlation of their new product to my daughter’s rash. I stopped using the brand, but gave the company the benefit of a doubt. However, recently, I purchased the Pampers Cruiser’s version for her. She is now 2 years old. I experienced the same thing! She has a horrible rash. She scratched it until it bled. Woke up in the middle of the night screaming in pain. I am taking her to the pediatrician this afternoon. I don’t know what else could have caused the rash, other than chemical burn from the diaper “technology”.

I was not aware that she would have the same reaction to Easy Ups. There is something in the technology that is extremely unsafe for our little ones.

The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers diapers
I have used pampers baby dry diapers for nearly 10 months for my daughter and before that for two years for my son. I have occasionally tried a different brand or pampers line but always went back to baby dry. Just over a week ago my mother in law bought a box of diapers for us and she picked up the new pampers cruisers with dry max. I tried them out on my daughter later the next day and within the first diaper change she had a rash. She has only had a rash twice since she was born and not nearly as bad. At first I thought maybe it was food related, but I couldn’t think of anything new she had eaten. By her next diaper change we were out of the house and it was getting worse but I had our usual pampers baby dry diapers in the diaper bag, I used that by the time we got home her rash was already looking better. I changed her again for bed with a baby dry diaper from her bag and by morning she was clear. Since then any time we used the pampers cruisers she had a rash by her next change so I switched back to the Pampers baby dry. She was clear for a couple of days after that. Today my husband had her for several hours while I helped my friend look for her wedding gown. He used the pampers cruisers on her while I was gone and she has the worst rash ever. She hasn’t had any new foods, drinks, medicine, etc, and she has never been prone to rashes. There is no doubt in my mind now that the new diapers are the cause, and we are officially switching back and throwing the rest of the cruisers out.

My 11 month old son developed a rash all over his diaper area. After having this rash for 10 days, we took him to our Pediatrician, [REDACTED] who runs a practice in Philadelphia, PA called [REDACTED]. Several of the Dr.’s in the practice came into the exam room to look at the rash and none of them could identify what the rash could have been caused by. They suggested we try Triple Cream and bring him back if we saw no improvement. A week later, we brought him back as there was no improvement. The Dr. did a rapid strep test which came back negative. Without a diagnosis, the Dr. suggested we try 1% cortisone cream. We still saw no improvement. Several days later, I recalled hearing about other children with a similar problem while using Pampers so I switched diapers. Within 48 hours, the rash was almost gone. We had a dermatology appointment scheduled for today and the Dermatologist suggested we report this problem to Pampers and the CPSC.
Please let me know if you have any questions. It would be great to know you have read this report.

The product, in the report: Pampers DryMax diapers
My daughter, born [REDACTED], was the first. From the time she was born, the hospital provided us with Pampers to use to diaper her. When she was about 2 weeks old she began to have persistent diaper rashes for which we took her to the doctor for. The doctor recommended ointment and more frequent diaper changes. The diaper rashes persisted for about 4 more weeks, with the doctor recommending everything from warm washclothes instead of wipes, letting her go diaperless for short periods during the day, formula changes, corn starch, etc. Painstakingly, it slowly cleared up. More recently, our son, born [REDACTED], continues to have diapering issues. Once again, the hospital provided Pampers diapers with Dry Max at the hospital and this was the diaper that we bought for home use. My son has had a horrible breakout of yeast diaper rash which got so raw that it bled and had to use antifungals for 4 weeks. The doctor this time had us change diaper brands suspecting that our son was not adjusting to the diapers well. Neither child has any kind of allergies that would have cause these rashes.

After doing some research on the advice of a friend, I quit using the Pampers and went exclusively to the [REDACTED]. Her burned looking skin cleared up within a couple hours.
My daughter is now 3 months old and she has never developed a diaper rash or a burned look to her skin again. I am of the opinion, based on what has happened, that the Pampers brand with DRYMAX caused her skin to be irritated.
I change my daughter often and I am not a neglectful parent. When I called Pampers about my problem, they suggested that I did not change her often enough.

The product, in the report: Pampers easy ups diapers girls 3-4t with dora on the box.
When my daughter was infant to young toddler I used pampers diapers. When the new formula came out for baby dry I had to change diapers because of the rashes she got from the diaper. She never gets a rash! I changed to [REDACTED] and have had no problems. However, my daughter is now ready for big girl pull ups. I looked tobpampers to provideme this great experience of potty training my daughter.
I purchased pampers easy ups about five months ago and had no issues. Now all of a sudden there is a new formula.....AGAIN!!! WHY DOES PAMPERS KEEP CHANGING? this formula this past week caused an extreme rash on my daughters rear. And it was so bad I consulted an RN on how to handle. I felt so bad for my little girl she was in so much pain. She is three in october and at this age diaper rashes are not that common. So I figured ok.. Let me try the pampers easy ups again. Maybe it was not them. Well it sure was the pampers easy ups.
I can even smell the difference from the diapers this new. easy up has a strong chemical odor covered up by an even stronger powdery smell.

The product, in the report: infant diapers
The consumer has purchased these diapers for grandchildren and for her nieces. A total of 3 different children experienced severe rashes while wearing these diapers. The grandbaby and one niece were taken to the doctor by their parents. However, the doctor was not able to identify why the rashes were occurring.
The children were placed in different brands of diapers and after a couple weeks, their rashes went away. The consumer said that each baby responded different in terms of how quickly their rashes went away.
The consumer was viewing the Internet and she saw information about the CPSC’s investigation into this mfr’s brand of diapers and she saw where other people mentioned their experience with this brand of diapers.
The consumer plans to contact the mfr. in the near future.

The product, in the report: Diapers Dry Max - size 1
My son experienced blister-like burns in varying sizes on his bottom from the Pampers Swaddlers diapers with Dry Max. I received many packages of diapers when my son was born because he is my second. One afternoon a couple of weeks ago, my daycare phoned me to let me know my son had ‘blisters’ on his bottom. We assumed it was from the shots he received the day before. We put diaper cream on him and was cautious to change his diaper frequently and his bottom area dry. That incident happened near the end of a week and at home we were using a different brand of diapers. His bottom healed. However, this week, I sent him with another package of the Pampers Dry Max diapers to daycare. And yesterday (Friday) the blisters appeared again. The blisters are not like diaper rash. I have been looking online to find what could cause the issue and was led to many individuals who have experienced the same incident when using these diapers. No child should have to suffer blisters and it is a shame that parents trust in the Pampers brand. And for Pampers to not see validity in the numbers of complaints is upsetting. I will no longer purchase their products.

The product, in the report: Pamper “Diego” pull-ups
I purchased “Diego” Pamper pull-ups from Targe for my 2 year old. After putting the first pull-up on him, I noticed his private was become swollen. His private area turned bright read and appeared like it was rubbed raw and about to begin bleeding. When I changed his first diaper I handed the diaper to my sister to throw away and she took it from me and threw it in the trash. The next morning she complained to me that her fingers had become red and swollen. After suspecting the diapers, my nanny ran two fingers on the inside of the pull-up to feel the material. The next day, the two fingers she rubbed on the inside lining were red and swollen and felt as though there was glass or something similar stuck in her fingers. When I looked up the pampers to compalin, I was shocked to find that this problem was brought up over a year and a half ago. Shame on the company for not pulling this produce and shame on who has failed to take action.

We bought Pampers Cruisers Limited Edition Prints diapers yesterday for our 2.5 year old son. He wore one for no more than 1 hour when I noticed him getting upset, and scratching his butt. I checked it out, and he had a red rash developing all across his back near the top of the diaper. I immediately changed him into a different brand of diaper and within an hour, it started going away. After searching online, I found many other parents experienced similar reactions.

The product, in the report: Diaper Pampers w Dry Max
Using Proctor & Gamble “Pampers” baby diapers with “Dry Max” causing rash. Our infant recently used Pampers with Dry Max diapers and broke out into a rash. The diaper rash is painful and only occurs when using this product. We have tried other brands ([REDACTED], [REDACTED], Non Dry Max Pampers, etc) and the rash only occurs after using a Pampers diaper with Dry Max. I would like to know what is in the Dry Max diaper that causes such a violent rash usually with the first or second diaper change, are these Dry Max diapers safe and what is the long term damage my child has faced by using them.
We would like to see a recall of the Dry Max diapers or at least an opportunity to exchange the Dry Max diapers we have already purchased with non Dry Max diapers.

I just bought a box of Pampers Cruisers with Dry-Max for the first time and my son appears to have a horrible chemical burn type diaper rash on his bottom. He has never been prone to diaper rash and this one looks horrible and painful. I have done some internet research and apparently this is quite common with this type of diaper. I am going to stop using these diapers immediately, but something needs to be done about this, starting with the company pulling this product. It is harmful and dangerous to little babies.

The product, in the report: Diapers - Pampers Swaddlers Size 1
I am a mother of two children. In 2009, with our first born, we used Pampers Swaddlers when he was a newborn and into the first few months of his life. The diapers at that time had the stripe down the front that turned green after urination. We never had any issues with the diapers at that time. With our current infant I have also been using the Pampers Swaddlers but have discontinued use due to a few charactaristics of the diapers that have disturbed me. Firstly, when we first started using the diapers a couple of months ago I noticed that when my daughter urinated I could smell the chemical reaction coming from the diaper. Just this week I have found that when she urinates, the diaper turns hot to the touch. Today, my daughter actually cried in discomfort after she urinated because the diaper was so hot on her skin. After bathing her this evening her bottom was noticibly redder than it has been since she was born. This concerns me for my child and others out there. I will not be using these diapers any more.

The product, in the report: Pampers swaddlers dry max diapers, size new born and size 2
I am a new mom to a 9 week old little boy. While in the hospital I was given pampers dry max diapers to use on my son. My son [REDACTED] soon developed a diaper rash even though he is breat feed and his diaper is changed regularly. After bringing him home from the hospital I continued to use the diapers they provided to me and his rash grew increasingly worse. It became so severe that it caused his skin to bleed. Desperate to easy his pain I began doing research on how to treat the problem. I soon came across a new mother message board on thebump.com and found other mothers talking about a diaper that caused chemical burns on babies. To my horror I found the diapers that caused these burns were the same ones that I was using. I immediately stopped using the pampers dry max diapers along with a home treatment of baking soda in his bath which I found on web MD his rash cleared up in about a week. I have countinued to use pampers baby dry diapers and my son has not had any form of rash for the past 7 weeks. Two days agoI purchased a case of pampers swaddlers diapers. When I opened the diapers I noticed that the inside of the diaper was not the same as the pampers baby dry diapers but thought little of it at the time. In using the new diapers for less than 24 hours [REDACTED] painful diaper rash returned. I inspected the box and that is were I came across the two words that I can not believe I over looked before, dry max. With the aid of some diaper rash cream and new diapers his rash has improved significantly almost as fast as it arrived. Earlyer today I E-mailed pampers to complain but I am yet to hear a response from them.

The product, in the report: Pampers swaddlers new baby diapers size 1 in the 92 count box
I have used pampers since my daughter’s birth on [REDACTED] and never had a problem, in fact they were our favorite diaper to use until now. I unknowingly purchased a box of swaddlers new baby size 1 with dry max (the diapers did not have the wetness indicator, which was my first clue that these were different), got 4 diapers into the box without incident but I was alternating them with other brands of diapers left over from baby shower gifts. I had just put my little one in a fresh diaper when she suddenly started screaming and crying about 2 minutes later. The baby had peed and when I got the diaper off of her seconds later she had redness with small welts all over her genital area. I was able to wash the area with baby wash and water while she screamed and cried which she continued to do for about 15 minutes after the change and cleaning. Four days later my baby still has redness and cries when she urinates. Her doctor is having us coat the area with balmex zinc cream which appears to be protecting the skin until it can heal, but it does not appear as a normal diaper rash which in the past had only occured occasionally between my child’s butt cheeks. This redness and welts are where her legs meet her torso in the creases as well as her labia and inside her vaginal area which has never happened before, in fact since we switched to Seventh Generation diapers the day after this incident the baby hasn’t even have a diaper rash between her butt cheeks. After a quick internet search about dry max I have discovered that this is an unsafe and poisonous product. I really cannot believe there has not been a recall and that this product is still on shelves! After all I have read including details of the class action lawsuit, I have decided that I will no longer purchase pampers. In fact I will probably eradicate my home of all P&G products because if P&G cannot make a safe product for babies, the most sensitive & vulnerable of us, how can I be assured that other P&G products are safe? So, I will be tossing 88 diapers into the dumpster and never buying pampers again. I sincerely hope that P&G will choose the health and safety of their customers over corporate profits!

My husband and I just started using Pampers Swaddlers with Drymax for our daughter a few days ago, and this morning our 3-month old daughter woke up this morning with a blister on her thigh. Not knowing what could have caused her to get a blister on her thigh along with irritation like she had I googled it. That is how I found out about the chemical is Drymax diapers causing chemical burns. Refusing to recall the diapers and insisting that the many reports are just false allegations despite all the proof that has been posted online via photos of the burns (that is how I discovered that what she had on her leg was a chemical burn, I looked at photos of other children’s diaper area), is just irresponsible and negligent and something needs to be done about their negligence!

The product, in the report: Pampers Splashers Swim Pants
I purchased a package of Pampers Splasher swim pants for our daughter who just turned three. I normally do not purchase Pampers products, but THOUGHT they were a reputable name and since there was more product for the same price, figured I would give them a try (and my daughter also like the character on the swimmers). On June 17, 2011 I put the 1st pair of swim pants on our daughter. She was only in them for approx. 1 1/2 hours before I brought her in to change. Upon beginning to remove the swim pants she let out a scream and began crying. I noticed that she had a very large red area with blisters where the swim pants had touched her leg (by the leg holes). After tending to her, I immediately called Pampers. Upon looking online I found there are several other people out there with similar situations regarding Pampers. It is now over 7 1/2 hours later and the area is still very red and puffy and VERY uncomfortable for her. I find this appalling and disturbing since Pampers is a company who makes products specifically for babies and young children. I hope you can look into this before any other children get “injured”.

My 16 MOnth old daughter has had a sevre Diaper rash since Christmas 2010..I had been to many physcians and they kept giving her cream after cream.. We all thought it was something she was eating or allergic to, or really just plain old teething... They dry max diapers were great. I would say the best however The quater size open sores and blood coming from these sores and the tears and pain she has endured is not a result of anything else than the chemcial BURNs she has recieved from using Pampers Dry Max... I just found out about this Monday June 13 2011 and It is now Wednesday June 15 and I already see results in healing...
To think that pampers would even do this to a small defenceless child is appauling! There better be some answers and some sort of compensations for all these children who have had to experience this!

Shes been crying and fussing all day and night and nothing seems to relieve her. I went online to see if others were having this problem and its all over message boards and parenting websites! Why hasn’t pampers warned us parents about this product?! My daughter is in PAIN because they neglected to warn parents, after hundreds of babies experienced this problem. I’ve stopped using them and its beginning to clear up already. We used aprx 20 of these diapers. Her rash began after about 5 diapers. There has been no change in her eating habits as shes breast fed only. I havent eaten anything unusual to make her break out and this rash is only on her private area and bottom.

Nothing else had changed...not any new foods, no new detergent, no new creams, no new soaps, etc. I stopped using the diapers and it cleared up within two days. I had a nurse look at it and she agreed that the rash was not yeast or common diaper rash.
I contacted Pampers and they immediately sent me a refund.

I am quite positive that this rash is caused by the Cruisers diapers because this is the FIRST rash he has ever had and it developed within days of having begun to use them.
I have since switched to another brand.

The product, in the report: Pampers Baby Dry diapers size 5
I have a 28 month old toddler who has worn Pampers diapers from Birth. After puchasing a new box of Pampers Baby Dry, and using them overnight, my son woke up the next morning looking as if he were scalded from the testicle area back to the rectum. His skin was solid red and looked as if burning water had been poored on his bottom. Not realizing that it could be the diaper, I placed zinc cream on him and continued as usual.
The next day, the rash was worse with oozing and weeping sores formed along the diaper line around the buttocks area. The pediatrician stated that this was an allergic reaction to the diaper. He was given a burn cream and I was instructed to discontinue the diapers.
The incident began on a Thursday morning and continues one week later. He has open sores and a persistent rash. Although healing (since we no longer use diapers), the rash has lasted the week and is extremely painful. The skin has chaffed and peeled while healing and flares up any time a diaper is placed to the skin.
2 pediatricians looked at the affected area and stated this was due to the diaper, without a dought.

On the third diaper change she was going to do, consumer noticed a blister on the inside part of her thigh. As she opened the diaper her daughter started screaming, her little butt, leg, butt cheeks, were raw! Consumer couldn’t even wipe her bottom with a diaper wipe. Consumer immediatly stop use of the diaper dry max.
Consumer feels that the diapers could pose safety hazard.

The product, in the report: Pamper Cruisers Dry Max size 5 Diapers
My daughter has never had diaper rash in her 2 years of life...3 months ago we switched to Pamper Cruisers dry max and looking back this is when she got little pimple looking blisters here and there and diaper rash oftenly . I have used several differant ointments( [REDACTED]) visited the physician several time receiving many differant ointments ( including [REDACTED] etc) none seeming to giver her much relief. I was really beginning to thinbg there was something seriously wrong and began to question my mom & her father about changing her often enough....searching for some cause, never believing that Pampers could have put a product on the market that would harm my child, it seemed silly to me that something such as a diaper could cause my daughter all of this pain. The rash was so raw it literally would bleed and was almost purple in color along with this she had on her legs and belly and bottom fluid filled blisters. The last and final time I visited the pediatrician he suggested switching diapers....within a week it has began to taper off...some of the blisters still remain and there is scars from the severity of the diaper rash! My child is permanantly scarred from diapers? I am irrate...beyond irrate! Watching her scream while i simply tried to wipe her is something a mother can not get past especially when your baby’s sking id practically sloughing off! I want something done about this...when i called pampers they offered to compensate my last box of diapers purchase .....NOT ENOUGH! These need to be off the shelf out of stores where not even one more child will have to go there what she has been throught!

The product, in the report: Pampers Extra Protection With Dry Max Diapers Size 4
Started using Pampers Extra Protection with Dry Max and our 1 year old son started to get severe rashes. Our Doctor said these are not Diaper Rashes caused by his stool, but they are “Chemical Burns.”
