The product, in the report: Pampers Amore newborn diapers
My newborn came home from the hospital using Pampers Swaddlers but I wanted to switch her to the cleaner option of Pampers Amore. The next day she was a little red but I just thought she was getting a diaper rash and used diaper rash cream. Over the next two days, even with continual diaper cream application, her privates became RAW, red, with bloody blisters. Upon switching to another diaper, the redness immediately cleared up.

First aid Made Sep 10, 2026, sent to the company Sep 15, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 29, 2026
The product, in the report: Pampers Swaddlers disposable baby diapers manufactured by Procter & Gamble (P&G). The diapers are white disposable diapers with printed designs and are intended for everyday infant use. The diapers have an absorbent inner lining, fastening tabs, and leg cuffs designed to contain urine and stool. Diaper size: 2 The product was purchased in a retail package of Pampers Swaddlers diapers.
My baby wore Pampers Swaddlers diapers and developed a severe skin reaction on her bottom within approximately 24 hours of using them. The affected area became extremely red and developed blistering. The appearance and severity of the irritation concerned me that it may have been a reaction to something in the diapers. We immediately stopped using Pampers Swaddlers and switched her to [REDACTED] diapers. We also began applying[REDACTED] to the affected area. After discontinuing the Pampers Swaddlers and making these changes, her skin began to improve. Because the reaction developed so quickly after using Pampers Swaddlers and began improving after we stopped using them, I am concerned that something in the diapers may have caused or contributed to the reaction. I am reporting this because of the severity of the redness and blistering and my concern that other infants could potentially experience a similar reaction.

The product, in the report: Panpers Swaddlers Diapers
Product Description: Pampers Diapers. Swaddlers, Size 1
I am reporting a severe quality control and safety hazard involving a foreign object found inside a used diaper. Upon changing my daughters diaper I discovered a metal screw embedded directly within the diaper material.
While the screw fortunately did not cause physical harm to my child, its presence inside an infant care product poses an extreme risk of puncture wounds, lacerations, or choking. This object represents a dangerous failure in the manufacturers product screening and quality assurance processes.
The manufacturer (Procter & Gamble) has been notified of this issue. I have retained the original packaging, the diaper, and the metal screw to preserve the evidence for any necessary regulatory investigation.

The product, in the report: Pampers Swaddlers 360 Diapers
my toddler has been using pampers swaddlers 360 diapers for at least 6 months now with no issues. i recently bought a new box and he broke out in hives while we were at the pediatricians office after i changed his diaper but we thought maybe he had came into contact with something at the hospital so we went on about our day after he received some [REDACTED]. well, a couple times since then ive noticed what looks like chafing on his thighs so i put cream on it and it cleared up quickly. today, we woke up and his entire diaper area was bright red, blistered, seeping fluid and bleeding. he cant walk, sit, or sleep due to how much pain he is in and i have done everything i possibly can to help get him some relief but it seems to only get worse and blister more as time passes even without wearing a diaper. he is in tremendous pain and i am very concerned about this.

The product, in the report: Pampers swaddlers size 2
On 05/23/2025, I used a fresh Pampers diaper purchased from Target on 05/19/2025 for my baby. Within a short period of time, I noticed alarming symptoms including [redness, blistering, open sores, swelling adjust as necessary] in the diaper area. I immediately discontinued use and sought medical attention.
A pediatrician diagnosed the reaction as a chemical burn likely caused by the diaper. This experience has been distressing for both my child and our family. My baby experienced significant pain and discomfort, and we incurred unexpected medical costs.
I have preserved the remaining diapers, packaging ), and medical documentation. I believe this may reflect a defective product and I am requesting the following: 1. An official investigation into this product and batch 2. Full reimbursement for medical expenses and product cost 3. Compensation for the physical and emotional distress endured
Please advise on your process for handling this type of claim. I expect a prompt and serious response.
Sincerely, [REDACTED]

We just bought a new box of diapers from Pampers. Our daughter started pulling at them as soon as we put them on, and continued pulling at all of the subsequent diapers she wore from this box. After two or three diapers, we noticed a rash on one of her buttcheeks. It did not appear to be the same as diaper rashes that she has gotten in the past, but was lighter, more spread out, in a different area, and the itching started immediately on contact with the diaper. Additionally, when my wife touched one of the unused diapers, her hand started to itch and she developed a small rash on her hand where it came into contact with the diaper.
Our daughter has worn Pampers diapers for years without anything like this happening.

The product, in the report: Pampers swaddlers size 4, bought in a pack of 150 from Amazon. The product code on the diaper itself is 3019u011311729
My 8 month old son woke up with blisters on his pelvic area, both front and back. I scoured my brain for what it could be. Finally, I realized a package of his diapers looked different. They had some blue staining where there is usually no color. I figured some of the dye just bled a little, but then I took a closer look and realized the areas of blue on the diaper aligned exactly with his rash. There were no changes to his diet or anything else his skin may have come in contact with. He is in pain and has these big patches of blisters. I did contact pampers but I want to make sure this is taken seriously. I don’t want other babies to be injured by these diapers.

The product, in the report: Pampers - it is happening with all sizes, all diapers in different states. I have received that information due to numerous post in the mom community all experiencing the same thing.
Pamper diapers have been making a burn like rash con babies that use their products. I have used many different products from the line. The pampers diapers were being used on my daughter. It was a burn like rash that created blisters and bleeding. My daughter had to be prescribed a medication in order to even begin healing it. Upon switching to a new brand she was fine with no rash. This has been mentioned by other mothers as well over the last few months to my knowledge. It has been mentioned to Pampers a few months prior through written communication.

First aid Made May 31, 2018, sent to the company Jun 8, 2018, published by CPSC Jun 22, 2018
The product, in the report: Pampers Swaddlers Size 6 disposable diapers
We purchased Pampers Swaddlers Size 6 for our twin daughters who are almost two. One day after putting the diapers on them, one of the girls wanted her diaper off and said it hurt. When we took the diaper off, there were multiple blisters and she was red along the edges of where the diaper elastic would touch her skin (not where a diaper rash normally occurs). We took the diaper off our other daughter and she had similar symptoms. The girls were not red where they would normally have a diaper rash, and this occurred mid-day when diapers are changed frequently.
After removing the diapers and not putting them back on, the blisters and rash started to get better after a few hours.
We used Pampers Swaddlers with our first daughter (now 4) and have used them with these girls since birth. It seems there must have been a change, or an issue with this batch.
We have the diapers they were wearing, as well as the remaining diapers from the pack (as well as an unopened pack from the same box).
We also have photos of the blisters.

The product, in the report: Pampers cruisers size 4 74 count box
Last night Jan 12 2018 I ran short of diapers with about 4 left I usually use [REDACTED] I always have sometimes [REDACTED] but I called my friend to bring some because it was too late for me to head out that dropped off size 4 Pampers cruisers. I used 1 this morning and within maybe 20 min my son was crying horrifically. I took his diaper off to see what was going on and noticed burn like rashes on the side of his inner legs on both I immediately removed the diapers and left him naked freely in his shorts to go to the store with me to get my original luvs brand I used. I’m wondering if Pampers is a safe bran dto use? Has here been reports of similar effects on kids? Is this something parents should be aware of? Are there chemicals or something put in these that can harm our children. My concerns r very high seeing something like this occr so fast

Hurt, care not known Made Dec 23, 2017, sent to the company Mar 21, 2018, published by CPSC Apr 5, 2018
The product, in the report: Pampers Baby Dry Diapers Size 4, Sesame Street branded, 144 diapers per box
We have had 2 instances now where Pampers diapers have stained my 1 year old daughter’s skin blue; this blue dye/stain on our child’s skin from the diapers won’t come off with baby wipes or with soap and water or anything else, so it just gets absorbed into her skin, which gives us a lot of anxiety to think about her going to bed with this dye on her legs, and the next morning, you can see much of it has been absorbed into her skin. We have the most recent diaper that caused this saved in a plastic baggie as well as the rest of the box of unused diapers. We have pictures and videos of the stain on our daughter’s leg; we submitted 1 picture where our daughter is not really exposed, but I have more if really necessary. This same incident happened before back in May 2017. My wife & I reached out to Pampers back in May when this happened per correspondence I have attached, and they assured us everything was safe. But when I asked them for confirmation that every material and dye in their product is 100% CPSIA compliant, I never received that confirmation, only more reassurance that everything is safe. It deeply concerned us for a second time now to change our daughter and see this very bright blue dye stuck to her skin that won’t come off. Furthermore, we called our pediatrician with 30+ years of experience, and he has never heard of this and suggested we make some calls. Nobody else in our family that is involved with smaller children/education or medicine has ever heard of this either, nor has any mother we know. All of this obviously really adds concern that won’t go away. Can you please help us get peace of mind that these diapers we used from Pampers were 100% safe and not potentially harmful? We don’t feel we can trust PG or Pampers to get the truth here (you can derive that from the email correspondence attached; we didn’t get what we asked for and their responses seemed “off.”). Part of our concern is also knowing that many chemical and dye plants in Asia are being shut down for non-compliance to environmental and related regulations. I don’t know if that’s where the dye is coming from? In the meantime, we will not be using anymore diapers from Pampers. Please call anytime as we know you are probably very busy, but we appreciate a response as soon as possible as we’re not anxious people, but we are concerned about this and will continue to think about this on a daily basis until we get resolution.
Sincerely, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: pampers swaddler diaper size 4. It has happened with other sizes in the past, too.
Hello,
I am a parent of a 2 year old boy. We have been using pampers swaddler type diapers since his birth. Since beginning, we had noticed skin abrasion or erosion mark on upper part of both thighs, near inguinal region. We believed it was from diaper rash and kept applying diaper rash cream. It did not make any difference and has left dark spot there. Recently, I realized that yellow strap to seal the diaper is rubbing against thigh skin after wearing it and that’s what causing these skin marks. My boy is 2 years old, 25 lbs and diapers are of appropriate size, slightly loose. I didn’t come across such problem with diapers before. I would greatly appreciate if you could investigate this matter so that company could be held responsible for this problem and babies could be saved from this problem. I have taken pictures of this skin marks.

This issue is also impacting other consumers, as I have found several Amazon reviews that indicate the same injuries were sustained by their children.

On June 27th I (Grandmother of 9 month old) noticed the [REDACTED] tab wasn’t sticking closed to the pampers baby dry diaper on our 9 month old and quickly noticed a piece of plastic [REDACTED] in her crib. Tried another pamper diaper from the same package but the tab was not sticking. Discontinued the diaper until today, June 30th. I noticed the same problem and noticed again that there was a piece of plastic [REDACTED] that had come off. The believe the entire package of diapers is defective and I am concerned that the loose piece of plastic will end up in her or child’s mouth. The tab that has the[REDACTED] feature is defective, the [REDACTED] is severed in half and the 1/2 piece comes completely off, either when attempting to use the diaper or when the diaper is being taken off. The [REDACTED] piece that falls off is approx. 1 inch long. The mother of 9 month old also noticed a problem with the diapers and reports a cut on the inside of her 9 month olds leg (where the diaper tab sits after the first use of the pampers after purchase on June 26th. Pictures attached of the cut 3 days after the cut was noticed.

The product, in the report: Size 4 Disposable Diapers
This caller is reporting an incident with size 4 diapers purchased from retailer in South Carolina March 21, 2017 March 22, 2017 around 6:00PM she changed her one year old daughter’s diaper then after dinner at 7:30 she was placing the child in the bath tub when the child began screaming at which time the caller pulled the baby back out of the tub and noticed that the baby’s posterior and vaginal area as well as her thigh area had blisters, bleeding and red raw raised and oozing at these areas. I asked how hot the water was in the tub and she said it was 95 or 96 then she said she and her husband are licensed foster parents and they have a little duck with a temperature gauge on it that is kept in the water. She took the baby to her pediatrician immediately (Dr. [REDACTED], Daniel Island, SC) he stated that he couldn’t be positive that it was the diaper that caused this harm. The caller purchased oral dose [REDACTED] and began giving it to the child and placed another one of the diapers on the baby. The baby could not sleep due to the extreme discomfort. She began searching the Internet for solutions and found the reports of the same diapers. She immediately got up from her bed, took the diaper off the baby and allowed her to sleep naked because she had no other diapers and the baby was in so much pain by this time because the rawness had gotten much worse. March 23, 2017 the caller purchased other diapers and began using them while also applying [REDACTED] per their pediatrician’s instructions. Today there is some improvement, her same areas are still red but are not inflamed to the point of blistering or oozing. The baby is improving as time goes on but the caller is asking that these diapers be recalled. She always purchase this manufacturer’s diapers and she has never had any problems until now. She did change brands after this incident.

The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers, size 3 (Diapers)
I purchased Pampers, Cruisers size 3 diapers. Inside the case there were two separate bundles wrapped in plastic. We used the first bundle of diapers and there were no issues. On December 29, 2016 we opened the second bundle and put the first diaper of that bundle on our granddaughter. Approximately 3 hours later, she developed a severe rash and had white blisters over her entire diaper area. To be sure, we cleaned her up and put a different diaper on her. After around 24 hours the rash and blisters was almost gone. On December 31, 2016 we put another Pamper Cruiser on her from the same package. Approximately 3 hours later, the rash and blisters had returned. Photographs were taken of the affected area.

The product, in the report: Pampers Dry Max diapers
I recently picked my 2 year old son up from his morning preschool program, and I noticed that he smelled like he just had a BM. His teachers change him before pick up, so I suspected that it had just happened. I did not have any diapers with me, so I figured he would be okay until I got home, as it’s a very short drive. As I was putting him in his car seat, he started squirming and crying. By the time we were half-way home, he was literally screaming as if in pain and writhing in his car seat. I could not do anything but get him home as quickly as possible. When we got in the door, I immediately took off his pants and discovered that he was wearing a Pampers-brand diaper. I also saw that he barely had any poo in it. (I thought that sitting in the poo on the way home was causing him discomfort, although this has never happened before.) When I tried to wipe him, he started crying even harder, so I had to quickly put him in the tub. He also had a bright red mark on his bottom, like a diaper-rash that remained for approximately a week.
My son has never worn Pampers brand before. The diapers that we leave with the preschool are a different (eco-friendly) brand, and his teachers must have run out of those diapers. If I had known that he was wearing a different brand, I could have removed the diaper on the way home and just let him dirty his pants, but I had no idea what the issue was. Concerned about this, I did a quick search on the diapers and discovered that many parents have complained that Pampers Dry Max diapers have caused chemical-like burns on their children. I see that Proctor and Gamble denies it and says that the parents are miffed that the company changed their design. Snopes shows that it has never been proven that the diapers have caused the rashes. Since I have never purchased these diapers, I would have had no idea about a change in design; however, my son has never screamed and cried (almost hyperventilating) from a dirty diaper. He also did not eat anything out of the ordinary that would have caused a rash. After being home for about an hour, my son would still not sit down due to the pain and chose to eat his lunch either squatting or standing up.
I realize that P&G settled this in the courts, but it would be remiss of me as a parent to not file a report. Meanwhile, parents of infants/toddlers do not have the time and energy to complain to a company over a “change in design”. While some children may be immune to harm from these particular diapers, others are obviously affected by a harmful component in them.

It’s been a week and it’s about 50% better. On antibiotic.

I have a daughter, [REDACTED] who just turned 1 years old. We received several bags of pampers swaddlers for her birthday. About 4 days ago, I first used these diapers on my daughter. We previously used [REDACTED] for her first year. We’ll after the first day I noticed a rash down on her inner butt cheeks and labia. The next day it progressed. By the 4th day, she had about 15 blisters which had opened up, we’re bleeding. She was in a lot of pain. I immediately took her to see her pediatrician which is [REDACTED] in melbourne, Florida. Phone number [REDACTED]. My daughter has had minor diaper rash before but it never turned into all these open blisters. Looks like she was burned several times. After day 4, I refused to put her in the pampers swaddlers with the dry max, and only use the [REDACTED] and her blisters have almost healed. I googled, pampers swaddlers rash and there were hundreds of parents giving testimony about how they’re babies too have had these chemical burns from the baby dry inside these diapers. They are not safe for use!!! And should be pulled off shelves immediately. I’ve read that when the baby dry is combined with urine and heat it can cause the chemical used to make these diapers burn the skin. THAT IS SCARY!!!!

We recently switched to Pamper’s Cruisers and our baby daughter started to develop small hives around the edge of the diaper. We were not certain what was causing this until 2 days ago when she woke up in the morning whimpering in discomfort and we saw the bright red rash only on the front of her diaper area. She was so red, she had welts in the creases of her thighs where the edge of the diaper was touching. As soon as I removed the diaper the rash immediately spread upwards over her belly button where it stayed red for almost the full day. We contacted an advice nurse since this happened over Labor Day, and she confirmed it was a chemical burn/reaction to the diapers. The rash was over her hips and around her thighs anywhere the edge of the diaper touched- except for the back. Whatever ingredient/chemical this company is using in its cruiser line of diapers is hurting infants.

We just switched from [REDACTED] to Pampers Cruisers size 4 this week because I used Pampers for some of my other children and we were having some leaking issues with our other diaper recently. My 13 month old son had pooped in his diaper when I was cooking dinner and I didn’t realize it so it may have had on the dirty diaper for up to 1/2 hour. When I noticed and changed him, I was shocked. His entire butt was not just red but swollen. He is my 4th child and again, I have never seen anything like this. It was not a rash. He was screaming in pain when I tried to clean him. I am very upset as I have no doubt what so ever that this was caused from his loose stool mixing wih chemicals in this diaper. He has not had any issues with urine but he had a loose stool and I didn’t realize he had a dirty diaper right away. I am sure I am not the only parent that didn’t immediately realize their child went to the bathroom. Still, I felt awful because he was in terrible shape last night. Today the swollen redness is gone other than 2 lines (one on each side) that looks like a burn.

My son broke out with the worst rash between his legs where his thighs hit the diaper, a chemical burn. I immediately called his dr and had him seen and she too agreed it was from the diaper. She gave me a prescription for [REDACTED] and a cortisone cream for him. I switched his diaper back to the baby dry and withing the day it had completely disappeared. I was extremely dissappointed when all pampers wanted to do was send me a coupon or refund my money. This is my child, a less then 2 year old that had a bad chemical reaction to there product. The product, in the report: Pampers swaddlers diapers size 2 200 count purchased off of diapers.com
After I bathed my son i noticed I had no more diapers left in his drawer so I went and opened a brand new pack out of a unopened box of pampers swaddlers size 2. I put the diaper on my son and gave him his bottle and put him down for his nap. When his dad arrived home from work he went in to our sons bedroom and picked him up and started to change him. When he took the diaper off he screamed for me to come in and when I walked in my son had the WORST rash/burn on his butt from the back all the way to the front. My son has nerve had diaper rash before and rarely ever cries so I knew that something was wrong as he was screaming worse then I’ve ever heard him scream! I immediately called his pediatrician and she advised me to come in. When we went In the doctor proceeded to tell me that it was a chemical burn from something in the diaper most likely the chlorine. She told me to put [REDACTED] ointment on so his urine or a bm wouldn’t be able to burn him even more. My son had this burn on him for over a week! When I contacted pampers the 1st time the supervisor basically brushed me off and said “we will reimburse you for your diapers hope he feels better.” I was concerned about the refund I was more concerned about these diapers being taken off of the shelfs so other children didn’t get burned by this batch! Unsaturated with the way this supervisor responded to my call I called back and asked for a manager. Well let’s just say she was just as rude if not worse then the supervisor! I told her I wanted contacted when their team did some investigation and she said they don’t do that. She also advised me to keep the diapers incase they want them for research. It’s now been 1 month and the only thing that has happened is I received a letter saying sorry and a 30 dollar prepaid [REDACTED] *which I don’t care about AT all! I’m beyond disgusted with pampers and refuse to use them ever again! I used them and only them for the first 6 months of my sons life and I switched to [REDACTED] as soon as this happened! Someone needs to do some investigating with this because I know a few moms that have been threw this!

The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers size 3
I recently changed from pampers baby dry to pampers cruisers diapers. We haven’t tried new foods, haven’t had any significant changes in our life, but in the past week my daughter has developed a very uncomfortable rash in her groin and anal area. It is extremely painful to touch. I am very diligent about diaper changes as I have never wanted her to get a rash and use coconut oil as well as [REDACTED] cream on her to prevent the rashes from occurring. The [REDACTED] cream and coconut oil have not helped and my daughter screams in pain every time I have to change her diaper. Today, the rash is spreading to her legs and I have given her [REDACTED] to ease the pain. It is heart breaking.

The product, in the report: Pampers Diapers size 3, lot# 3278U017520958
I used a diaper out of a new carton of Pampers on my son. He had no rash at all when I put it on and after being in it for approximately an hour, I changed it because he had a bowel movement (changed it right away after the bm). He had a diaper rash so bad it looked like a burn, and it took approximately 3-4 days to fully heal. I noticed when putting on the diaper that I could feel what seemed like the gel crystals in the bottom - something that I had never felt before, but had never had any problems so assumed it was ok. I normally use other (cloth) diapers on my son so I stopped using the disposable and returned to cloth. A couple of weeks later I had run out of cloth diapers again and used another out of the box of diapers. The exact thing happened again even after no bm and only being on my son for about 45 minutes. Yet again, I could feel the crystals when I put them on him. After this second time I realized there was something wrong with the diapers, and saved one so that I could report back to pampers to let them know the issue. My husband didn’t realize that was why I was keeping the diaper, and used it on my son a few days later and the exact thing happened a third time. We use these diapers as back-up when we need them (or when we run out of cloth diapers) so it isn’t like my son hadn’t used them before - we used them quite regularly (including this brand) and this is the first time we’ve ever had something like this happen. 3 severe rashes after using 3 new diapers. It was clearly the diapers as it only happened (every time) when we used that specific lot.

I have used Pampers swaddlers from birth for my son. When we switched to Pampers Cruisers, I noticed a really bad rash that looked like a chemical burn on his bottom. He also developed an itchy rash above his genitals. I used [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED] ointment and everything over the counter and it would not resolve the rash. I took him to the doctor who didn’t know what the rash exactly was. She prescribed steroid ointment for the rash. We switched to =[REDACTED] and the rash healed with the combination of the ointment. I have been a huge Pampers fan, so giving them the benefit of the doubt, I switched back to the Pampers Cruisers. Within less than a day, the rash reappeared on his bottom and above his genitals. He immediately started scratching and left scratches on his bottom because he was digging so hard at it. When I switched back to the [REDACTED], the rash again disappeared. I am very disappointed as I was a HUGE pampers fan...

The product, in the report: Diapers
Upon inspecting my own infant’s diaper, I discovered a 3” by 1.5” sharp piece of plastic-like material consistent in only one other diaper of this package. The material is imbedded in the diaper’s inside, and sharp enough to easily cause laceration. Only 2 of the 56 diapers inspected contained this defect, which would have no doubt caused injury, possibly significant, had it gone unseen.
After researching Pampers’ website and diaper construction info provided by their company, this was confirmed to indeed, be a flaw. No other material in any of their diapers matches the sharp material found in the two diapers I came across.
Both diapers found have the same serial/lot number.

Babies diaper ruptured while he slept. Second degree chemical burns from the urine soaked beads coming into direct/prolonged contact with baby’s skin (private parts, bottom, related crevices). Baby screams and shakes during changes. Nightmare. Can’t believe studies on Pampers Baby Dry diapers actually involved direct skin contact + urine chemistry + long time period (he was asleep for 11.5 hours in this case). Really want to see the studies that support this product as safe. Sorry for brief complaint. My last one got lost when I clicked “next”. Call for many more details. I have a couple photos of his bottom that we took today when we realized he was actually starting to bleed. Hesitate to send those. But can if needed.

This is my THIRD attempt to report this on your website which keeps expiring or saying page not found. My son has been wearing Pampers since he was born. He now used Pampers Cruisers size 4 and Pampers Baby Dry at night. We have never had an issue until recently when it appeared that the design had changed (less bulky - seem thinner). He gets scratches all over his bottom and wear the lining of the diaper ends against his skin. Not a rash, but SCRATCHES.

The product, in the report: Pampers Extra Protection night time diapers. Size 4.
We purchased Pampers Extra Protection night time diapers. The diapers have leaked ‘gel’ (the crystals that turn into gel-like pods when wet). The gel that comes into contact with my son’s skin causes a small blister that resembles a burn, or chemical burn. On 4 occasions he has had 3-6 blisters the size of pennies near his scrotum and anus.

My daughter is 10 months. I use to use pampers all the time but she started getting weird rashes on her bottom and lower back where the diaper touches. Both swaddlers and baby dry did this. I was told she had chemical burns. How the hell does this happen? I was sent a facebook link to a mother who also had the same issues. Since then I stopped and I use [REDACTED] now. No more rashes/burns. I seen all the reports on here and I figured I would report this as well. I loved pampers especially because they are the only diaper to not leak at night. My daughter goes a lot at night. But with the reaction she had I won’t use them. Something needs to be done. Obviously its not fully baby safe for skin if there are multiple people reporting this. I can answer any questions about her skin type if needed to figure out why this is happening. Also my husbands son is three and uses pampers from time to time and he has no issues.

My daughter has always used Pampers baby dry diapers with three exceptions. Two of the three were a switch to Pampers Cruisers. BOTH times resulted in BLISTERS and terrible rashes, usually within the first three to four diaper changes. Just recently, we were given a box of [REDACTED] brand [REDACTED] diapers and within the first two days she was blistered and rashed again. I am a mother of five and I know the difference between a simple rash and this nonsense! Her doctor agrees that these are caused by the diaper! Shame on all of you that are saying these major companies are not at fault while our innocent children are suffering and in pain! It is just disgusting

The product, in the report: Pampers Baby Dry Diapers size three (
In the Previous year I have been switching between [REDACTED] and pampers baby dry diapers (depending on what on sale). I was very happy with both products. Then, Pampers re-released their “new” versions of all of their diapers (baby dry, swaddlers, cruisers) sometime in september. I bought my first box of baby dry diapers and thought nothing of the change. I started using them on my 16 month old daughter and after about the third diaper change I noted she was getting a red, blotchy, bumpy rash on her tush and genital area. I stopped the use of the diapers after researching online and finding many of the same reports. I used [REDACTED] for the next week or so and then to test, I put her in a baby dry. As predicted, the rash reappeared within hours of her wearing it. I am now certain that it is the diapers causing the rash. I am super bummed. I loved the baby dry but now I can’t use them! Target did refund my money at least.

We purchased swaddlers by pampers in bulk due to a coupon we received in July 2013. Our 11 month old has ever since been suffering a horrible rash. I thought it was because we gave her mandarins oranges. So after a week of usual creams and a very bland diet we took her to the dr. After weeks of steroids, creams and ointments my baby still has this rash. I take her back to the dr 3 more time get 3 more medications... Still no cure. Today the dr took a closer look at it. He now says it looks like burns all over her bottom and privates. How does a baby get burns in that area??? We will not be using your products any longer. I can’t even wipe my baby, give her a bath or apply medication without her heart wrenching scream. A coupon that saved us $20 has costed us hundreds!!!!!!!!

I have a 13 month old daughter and we just bought a box of pampers cruisers diapers. We have used [REDACTED] since she was 3 months old but the store was out of her size so I opted for a box of cruisers. She was fine for a couple of days and then started getting these little bumps in clusters like a rash/burn almost. We just ruled it out as diaper rash but no creams or ointments have helped clear it and she hasn’t rated anything different so we ruled that out as well. Finally, we switched the diapers and the rash went away with no ointment. I am highly concerned with the diapers and my daughter has used the pampers swaddlers when she was a newborn up to 3 months and was just fine. I am having someone look into this now but would like to file a complaint formally.

I used Pampers Baby Dry diapers on my 6mth old and my 21mth old sons. Neither of them have ever had a diaper rash. The same day we bought the package and used the diapers on them, both of them broke out with a patchy rash at their waist where their skin comes into contact with the waistband. It’s an itchy rash & not a typical diaper rash. I just Googled “pampers rash” and others have complained about this same thing happening as far back as 2010. There is some chemical in the waistband that is an irritant to babies and this company should not be able to continue using it. All Pampers Baby Dry should be recalled until they figure out what exactly they have added to their manufacturing that is causing this breakout.

On the night of August 20th 2013 I was changing my 10 month old daughters diaper and immediate noticed a weird smell. When I started to remove the diaper I noticed a red raised burn like rash on her left inner thigh covered with little gelly crystals. I immediately put her in the bath trying to relieve her of the discomfort the best I could. I have been using Pampers for about 4 months now and have never had an issue until now. I am extremely disgruntled and frustrated with Pampers being that I put my daughter health and safety in their hands by purchasing their product. I have pictures of my daughters BURN NOT RASH and I have pictures of the diaper where it opened and seeing how where her burn is is lined up to the opening of the diaper. Something needs to be done for the mothers whom are dealing with this. I cant believe they haven’t even recalled them with all of the proof and reoccurring instances there has been.

The product, in the report: Pampers Easy Ups size 4
My son has used Pampers diapers since birth. The last diaper he wore caused a severe skin reaction within minutes of a diaper change. There was a stronger chemical in the diaper he was changed into and he immediately began itching. By the time we got home (15 minutes later) his skin under and around the diaper was bright red and he was swollen and breaking out into hives. We were deeply concerned for his safety so we rushed him to the ER where the doctor confirmed that it was a reaction to the diaper. He is still in the healing phase and cannot wear a diaper at all until it goes away. We are now being forced to rush potty training since he is only safe to wear cloth underpants.

My baby developed a noted “rash” in her peri-area and buttocks that had multiple blisters was extremely red and swollen and did bleed at one point. This rash has been occurring off and on for the last month and finally linked it to the pampers swaddlers I have been using throughout this last month. I was finally able to pinpoint the cause after changing wipes, lotion, and then diapers. The last time my baby got this burn was the other day after using the pampers and within 24 hours the redness, swelling, and blisters appeared.

My daughter always uses [REDACTED] but my mom had got her some pampers cruisers so i decided to just use them anyways. She wore them and I noticed right above her butt became red after a few hours. I changed her all through the day more than 7 times, it was noon when I noticed the red spot. She has had a low fever due to teething so we have been making sure she stayed hydrated so she was peeing alot. The next day it looked like there had been a poped blister on that area. I then went to my dad who is an RN the next day and asked what he thought, its the size of my thumb now, and he said it looked like a chemical burn. I have seen many more storys like this. Why has there not been a recall.

The product, in the report: Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers Diapers size 4 (and size 3 although I didn’t realize it then)
My 10 month old baby boy has been having horrible rashes on his scrotum, penis, and general diaper region. He has been in Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers since birth so I did not think this was the problem, although he is now wearing size 4s. We tried all different types of diaper ointments, and even going to the pediatrician to get prescription ointments to see if it is possibly a yeast reaction. Nothing has helped. I recently found out that Pampers puts Dry Max in their size 3 and 4 boxes without labeling them as such. My poor baby has been suffering what looks like a chemical burn for two months now because these diapers are not labeled properly. I never would have put him in diapers with Dry Max because I knew about the the problems and lawsuits with it in 2010, and 2011. In addition to the physical pain my baby has been in, we now have opened cases of diapers that we will not use, doctors appointments to pay for, not to mention all of the money spent in trying to find ointments to help. I can’t believe Pampers has caused my baby to suffer, it’s absolutely disgraceful!

She stated that the packaging does not disclose that it contains drymax in it. She feels that the firm should be held responsible for disclosing that information on their size 3 package.
1/29/13 The manufacturer was contacted and she inquired if there was anything different about their size 3 diapers, because she had used 1 and 2. The agent informed her that there was no difference, however, later in the in the conversation she mentioned that it contained drymax but they did not disclose that information because she assumed the consumer knew.

We’ve used all sorts of brands of diapers with my infant son and have never had a problem like the one we had when we used Pampers Baby Dry. We bought a big box of them and halfway through the box I changed my son and he had [red marks] on the sides of both of his legs. They were so bad they hurt him to the touch and were a deep blood red color. I was horrified. The marks on his legs coincided with the elastic bands of the diapers on his thighs. This was not a diaper rash. I took a picture of it right then and there. This incident happened a couple of months ago and you can still see faint marks on my sons legs, like he will have a scar on his legs from the diapers. I want to complain to Pampers but I do not want them to send me more of their product. This is completely unacceptable, especially if my child is scarred for the rest of his life.

The product, in the report: Diapers
Pampers Cruisers diapers are causing a rash, itching, and blisters on my daughter. She is almost two and has always worn Pampers Swaddlers until about two months ago I started using Pampers Cruisers..within the first 48 hours of putting her in the Pampers Cruisers she began breaking out in a rash with blisters all over her bottom, front, and sides where the diapers touched. I didn’t immediately associate this as being caused by the diapers, however I did go ahead and stop using the Cruisers just in case and changed to [REDACTED]. Within a week of using creams on the rash and her wearing a different brand of diaper, the blisters and rash were completely gone. It has been a couple of months since this happened, I have had no problems. I purchased another box of Pampers Cruisers to try a few days ago, as I hadn’t been completely certain that they were the cause of the rash and blisters previously, and within 24 hours of my daughter wearing them she once again began scratching and has bumps and red rash all over her bottom, front, and sides basically every place that the diaper touched her body. This time I went back to the store to exchange the diapers for [REDACTED] and the woman whom assisted me actually was not surprised at all and told me that they get returns and complaints somewhat often about the Pampers Cruisers causing blisters and rashes on babies.

Hi [REDACTED] was born [REDACTED] I was in the hospital 4 days. When we got home we started out pampers baby dry two days go by she started to get a rash. I then switched to swaddlers thinking maybe the baby dry just didn’t agree with her. It kept getting worse I took her in numerous times to doctors she was on four different kinds of meds. Bacteria to yeast to antibiotic to a steroid. I then thought it was my milk cause I’m nursing. I stopped drinking soy milk cause I don’t drink regular milk. I went nuts to cut soy out of my diet. Now it’s been about 9 weeks with the rash she went to a specialist he says “ecsama” I was like no way. He was a joke didn’t even look at her. I kept telling everyone it’s not a rash it looks like a burn as if someone put a curling iron between her cheeks:( I was fortunate to go to store and bought a pack of [REDACTED] that day. I switched her and it’s been a full 24 hours now and it’s not as raw looks better. It’s going to take a very long time to go away I think she has had it for 10 weeks. I see another specialist in the morning. I truly believe pampers was the reason for her burns. Was wondering if you knew what and if I could do anything about it. I’d like to make people aware of this?? What ever is in those diapers shouldn’t be aloud it leaves burns on children. [REDACTED]

My newborn had outgrown his newborn diapers last week which was [REDACTED] I received at my baby shower so i had to up him to size 1’s I had recieved a 50 count pack of Pampers Dry Baby/Dry Max product at my shower from a relative so I decided to start him on those since Pampers are one of the more expensive brands I thought it would be good on him. well after using this product for 1 day his bottom developed a bad rash but it didnt look like regular diaper rash it was more a burn like a chemical burn on both cheeks of his bottom it was blistery and bleeding . I still never related it to the diapers thought well maybe its the wipes hes alergic to so i went online searching and seen some people that had wipe issues were using [REDACTED] towels for a while till the problem went away well i tried this and [REDACTED] both and it didnt help i continued using these diapers cause i didnt think anything of it being that . I continued to search online on day # 3 of his issue and seen that some other parents had problems with the diapers and i thought oh no maybe that is it so i instantly switched him to [REDACTED] size 1’s as of today it has improved alot , he still has the rash /burn but the redness has faded down some and no more bleeding its more a pink color so its starting to heal thank goodness. This all happened over thanksgiving holiday so his doctor wasnt in. but since its improving im not as concerned I just know i will never purchase these Pampers or probably andy other type of Pampers again.... This really needs to be looked into ,Im wondering if its not the blue type dye used in these diapers they are the only ones that have the blue tint on the insides these other brands im using now doesnt have this... but I hope it gets corrected fast Poor little babies that are going thru this.... The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers Diapers, size 3
We’ve been using Pampers since our daughter was born. We stocked up on the Swaddlers diapers while I was pregnant (2+ years ago). Due to stocking up on them during my pregnancy, we haven’t needed to purchase any diapers since our daughter was born. We have had no issues with any of the diapers we purchased at that time. I prefer Pampers over other brands due to the fact that they were more gentle on our daughter’s skin than some of the other brands. Currently we are out of state and had to buy some diapers to get her through the rest of the week. We bought the Pampers Cruiser diapers in size 3. Upon opening the package, I could smell there was a difference between this package and our other Pampers. A very strong “baby powder” type of smell. I figured it was just the difference in stages and ignored it. Immediately after changing her first diaper, she had a rash. I thought maybe it was from something she ate. I put a ton of cream on (like we always do if she gets a little rash) and figured it’d be taken care of in the next few hours. Nope. From that point on, her “rash” has become more and more severe. She is miserable and in obvious pain. This is definitely not a diaper rash and is not a reaction to something she has consumed, it is a reaction from the diapers. I’m trying to let her air dry as much as possible and caking on the diaper creams. She’s in so much discomfort, that I’ve been having to give her pain medicine. Something else that makes it obvious that it’s the diapers: At night we have her wear [REDACTED] Overnight diapers. After changing her out of those diapers in the morning, her “rash” looks so much better and is almost healed. But as soon as we start putting the Pampers Cruisers back on her, she is suffering. This is not right. Some ingredient in their diapers is causing this and it needs to be removed immediately!!

The product, in the report: Pampers baby dry diapers
I have five children. My oldest is 7 and youngest is 13 months. I have been a loyal user of Pampers diapers since my oldest was born. The only times that my non-potty trained children have not been in Pampers diapers are when they have been at church and there wasn’t a diaper in their bags. This has happened very infrequently (at most 2 times per child). My two youngest children are the only ones that have experienced extreme diaper rashes and I only recently heard something about Pampers possibly causing the type of diaper rashes my children have had. It makes sense to me that the diaper might be the culprit. The older of my two youngest was born in October of 2010. The diaper rashes typically occur when the kids have had colds or been on antibiotics and have had loose stools. Having loose stools is not uncommon nor something that none of my other children have had, of course! But the type of diaper rash that my youngest two have had multiple times is not something that my older children experienced. This rash consists of very red, raw, blister-like lesions on the skin and it is difficult to get rid of and has left scars on the bottom where the blisters have been. I have not changed diapers but am planning to switch brands to see if the extreme diaper rashes stop. I have used Pampers Swaddlers, Pampers Cruisers and Pampers Baby Dry. The Baby Dry diapers are what I am currently using and the ones I believe to be giving the rash with the raw blisters.

The product, in the report: Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive Size 3
Pampers swaddlers sensitive in size 3 caused marks that looked like burns on my daughter in the diaper area even with frequent changing. We used from newborn without issue and my daughter has never had a rash of ANY kind until now so couldn’t imagine diapers were the problem. We visited the pediatrician and upon changing diaper brands burn marks were gone withing a few days. We later learned DRY MAX added in swaddlers beginning with size 3.

Pampers baby dry diapers caused chemical burn on my son Monday 9/10/12 . I called in complained. This is confirmed chemical burn from our doctor. Pampers is all we have used on my 1 yr old. I’m shocked no recall has been done due to the number of babies this is happening with daily. I was offered coupons as a fix all. That’s insane. My son is so much in pain from his skin melting off and oozing blood and pampers want to send me coupons to fix it. Well sorry not ok. My son hurts and so do tons of other babies. My email has gotten no response, this along with other moms too . I’m offended that a baby supplier is not willing to put our children’s safety first. The lawsuit that was against pampers in 2010 was settled for 30 million because of chemical burns. You would think that warrents mandate changes. Obviously not becquse this week my child has suffered daily because of pampers negligent quality assurance. I refuse to stop until a recall is in store. This is absolutely absurd that any child is suffering because of a diaper. There are plenty of things that we has parents have to worry about with our children. We don’t need a company we trust and pay outrageous amounts to hurt them. By the way, I purchased the big box of 156 Pampers Baby Dry for $35.99 . We opened it and he wore three of them before I noticed the burn. 153 diapers that need to be tested for overload a chemical toxins to make a permanent resolution to this horrid issue. I want a recall!!! I want your company to step up and take responsibility for your wrong doing and fix the problem while preventing any other children pain. Therefore, until contact is made with the person that actually has a heart and cares to help. The journey will continue. He has been unable to wear diapers five days now. The burns are healing up but this is unfornate I’m not getting help.

We had a severe reaction to Pampers Baby Dry diapers. My two-year-old grandson was visiting and we bought Pampers diapers. He had always used [REDACTED] or [REDACTED]. We used the diapers on August 30 & 31. We went to the emergency room the evening of Aug. 31 with severe swelling of the skin on his penis and the beginning of a rash. He was diagnosed with infection and given an antibiotic. The next morning (Sept. 1) when the diaper was taken off, the swelling was much worse. We have pictures to document this. To say it was alarming is an understatement. It is hard to describe the shocking nature of the condition. We saw a pediatrician, who called the Primary Children’s Hospital. After examining the photos and discussing the situation, the urologist there agreed with the local pediatrician that it was an allergic reaction to the diaper and not an infection. In addition to going back to [REDACTED] diapers, our grandson was treated with Hydrocortisone and Mupirocin cremes. The doctor saw him several times. Over the period of days, the swelling eventually went down and the solid rash that covered his entire diaper area began to leave.

The product, in the report: Pampers Baby Dry Diapers
On Saturday, I opened a pack of Pampers Baby Dry and put a diaper on my 10 month old daughter. She wore the diaper for a couple hours until she wet herself. My daughter hates to be wet I went to change her because she was screaming and upon removal of the diaper I noticed extreme redness around her vagina and there were several fluid filled bumps. Normally I use cloth diapers or an occational [REDACTED] on her and she has only had a few small rashs that went away as quickly as they appeared. This looked nothing like the rashes she or either of her two older brothers have ever had. I always used Pampers on the brothers when they were small and they had many rashes (they are 7 & 3 now). I put a cloth diaper back on her and smothered the effected area with [REDACTED] (the miracle of all diaper creams). Normally this will make the rash disappear by next change, but it is now three days later and it has only just begun to clear. My concern is the fluid filled bumps and the amount of time it took her to heal from whatever this was. Between friends, family, and myself, I have been looking at diaper rash and changing baby bums over 15 years. I have never seen anything like this. The only difference from our normal routine was the Pampers brand diaper.

The consumer says the diapers caused big red rashes at the latch site on her child. She says that the plastic diaper caused big rashes on both of his hips. She says the straps are on loose so it is not that the straps are too tight.
The consumer feels that it is due to a chemical in the diaper. The consumer has been using the product for two day but stopped once she noticed the rashes.
She noticed the rashes within 1-2 days of having them on her son The rashes have gone away after using a different brand. Her son is 21 months old. She says he is 8lbs under the top weight for this diaper.

My son started out with what looked like a diaper rash, though when I wiped it with a wipe he screamed and hollored at me.I finished up by putting ointment on it and then let him go to bed for the night. The next morning the ‘rash’ had changed into a deep red color and there were scabs forming on it. He is still screaming whenever I try to wipe his bottom. His diaper rashes have never been this dark or ever scabbed over and he has no fever or anything that goes with a virus or infection, I am going to schedule an appointment to find out for sure, but I know what a burn is and that’s what this looks like. I have a picture of what it looks like but I am not going to post it on this incident report. I stopped using the diapers after incident took place and I do plan on contacting them because this should not be happening.

The product, in the report: Pampers Cruisers Diaper
Our 2 year old daughter had never suffered a serious diaper rash. We have always used a zinc oxide based diaper rash cream along with either pampers dry max or [REDACTED] diapers. Recently we put her into day care in the mornings. One time she was changed there into a Pampers crusier diaper, when I took her home that afternoon she had developed a horrible case of diaper rash complete with what appeared to be blistering. She had never had anything even remotely like it before. There was no sign of any problem that morning. I had heard something about some babies having a reaction to the crusiers and told the day care not to use them on her again. She had never worn one before. The rash (burn?) is slowly healing but is still quite noticeable after nearly 2 weeks.

The product, in the report: DIapers; Pampers Swaddlers Newborn size
We have been using Pampers Swaddlers newborn diapers for the first 3 weeks with our newborn son. Soon, approximately 2-3 days into using the diapers, he developed a rash which we thought was just a result from being damp and not enough changings, but after a couple more days it appeared to be more than just a “diaper rash”. The said “rash” consisted of peeling skin, boils, raw spots, and appeared to look more like a chemical burn. So we began to use [REDACTED] Baby Powder, daily baths, time without a diaper, and [REDACTED] the rash was only getting worse. I noticed at times there were crystals on his skin and raw tiny boils were left on his skin near the crystals. Almost 75% of his diaper area was covered with raw rash and in an attempt to try anything to help him we switched to [REDACTED]. It has been one day since we switched him and his rash is almost gone. We are now stuck with about 120 Pampers Swaddlers that I will not put back on my son.
