The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Huggies little movers hug Fit 360 size 56 count diaper box

I wanted to report my daughter developing a really intense rash, which is turning into blistering. I will probably have to take her to her pediatrician but I did notice online that there are a few people putting in complaints for the Huggies little movers hug Fit 360. Its the 56 count size 5 diapers. I will discontinue her wearing these specific diapers and do at home remedies to try to help this before I see the doctor, but I wanted to notify on here and as well as a manufacturer tomorrow.

The product, in the report: Huggies Little Movers Plus diapers size 7 104 count

We purchased Huggies little movers Plus from Costco. Everytime I changed my babies diaper he was bright red and all the little moisture beads were on his privates and under his foreskin. I emailed Huggies and let them know. I explained how this is toxic material and could lead to serious health problems. They replied the same thing they are saying on all these other complaints and said they mailed me a gift card. This happened with a diaper from every pack. This product is not safe for your delicate babies skin.

The product, in the report: Huggies Snug & Dry disposable baby diapers, Size 5 for babies 27+ lbs., 25-count package. The diapers are white disposable diapers with absorbent lining and fastening tabs.

My one-year-old had been using another diaper brand without this problem. After I switched him to Huggies, I noticed a small red bump, followed by increasing red bumps and significant irritation around his genital area. I stopped using the Huggies and have photographs of the reaction the packaging, lot information, and medical documentation. I would like to formally report an adverse reaction/product injury and open a claim.

My 14 month old child had a severe skin reaction and swollen diaper rash after using Huggies Little Movers Size 5, 58 count. The rash came on rapidly with extreme redness and severe swelling in the diaper area. Standard diaper creams did not work, and the swelling was so bad that I had to bring my child to the doctor. I was using huggies plus brand size 3 with mickey mouse that is sold at [REDACTED] on my daughter. I was running low and my mother in law ordered me huggies brand size 3 with simba (not huggies plus) from Amazon and shortly after using them my daughter developed a severe chemical burn along with skin irritation, that she is still healing from and I feel like they should be taken off the shelf because there are countless complaints of these causing the same reaction. [REDACTED]. More babies are going to suffer because Huggies has proven they dont care. I have spent hundreds of dollars on creams to help heal my baby after what happened and we’re still healing from it!

I was surprized to see so many complaints on the same thing happening to so many babies. I am currently treating the rash like a diaper rash. It is still irrerated. If not looking better by tomorrow I will have to take him to his doctor.

The product, in the report: Product Name: Huggies Disposable Diapers (Size 2) Costco Item Number: 2009062 Product Type/Purpose: Single-use, disposable infant hygiene product designed for moisture absorption and waste management. Size/Dimensions: Size 2 (Standard industry sizing for infants typically weighing 12 to 18 pounds). Physical Appearance & Color: White disposable diaper with a quilted inner lining, elastic leg cuffs, fastening tabs, a wetness indicator strip on the exterior, and standard printed child-friendly graphics/branding on the outer waistband. Packaging Details: The product is distributed in a large bulk cardboard box characteristic of wholesale distribution at Costco Wholesale clubs. The external packaging explicitly displays Costco Item Number 2009062 and the Huggies brand name.

On June 15, 2026, I purchased a box of national-brand infant diapers from Costco, labeled as “2009062 HUGGIES SZ 2”.

The product was used for the first time on June 17, 2026. The product was being used exactly as intended, applied to a healthy infant as a standard disposable diaper for routine hygiene and moisture management.

Immediately following the first use of these diapers, the infant suffered severe skin injuries in the diaper area. The user developed a sudden, acute, bright red rash that mimics a chemical burn or severe contact dermatitis, presenting with intense redness and skin inflammation. The injury occurred strictly on the skin surfaces directly in contact with the diaper’s inner lining and absorbent core.

The severe skin reaction appeared directly as a result of using this specific batch of diapers, which is currently being held for lot code identification and safety investigation.

Started using Huggies from Costco on baby that had no rash, immediately after using developed rash. Changed diaper every hour and it got worse and worse until blistered formed and genitals were bleeding. Changed diaper to a different Huggies style and rash went away within a day. I would like to add that when I first opened the bag of diapers it smelled like burnt rubber but I initially thought it was my tires because I got new ones. But I opened a second bag to see inside the house and same smell.

Huggies size 4 little movers plus diapers. Lot PA531005X 12:32 My daughter had just switched to this kind of diaper for the first time and experienced what I first thought was a diaper rash. It later turned to what appears to be a chemical burn. Her pediatrician recommends burn cream for it. She had a blistery, puss-filled burn on her inner thigh where her diaper was. I googled Huggies rash and found many other parents with similar complaints.

The product, in the report: Baby hygiene products consisting of disposable baby wipes and disposable diapers used for routine diaper changes. [REDACTED] The diapers are Huggies disposable diapers, Size 3, purchased in boxed packaging from Costco. The products are intended for direct contact with infant skin during diaper changes.

An infant experienced a significant skin reaction after using baby wipes and diapers. A 5-month-old baby was using Huggies Plant-Based Baby Wipes (1024 count, UPC 036000584653) and Huggies Size 3 diapers purchased from Costco. Shortly after beginning use of these newly purchased products, the infant developed a severe diaper rash that was more intense than a typical diaper rash, with marked redness and irritation causing discomfort. The parent also observed an unusual white, powder-like residue transferring onto their hands when using the wipes, which had not occurred with previous use of the same brand. The products were discontinued and standard home-care measures were followed after contacting a pediatricians office for guidance. The infants skin began to improve after stopping use of the products. No other products, foods, detergents, or routines were changed during this period.

I am reporting this in attempts to let more parents know about the recent changes Huggies has made to their diapers. I am so incredibly disappointed that Huggies changed the diaper materials/formula and did not disclose this information. Their responses to the complaints are absolutely pathetic. My son has worn Huggies since he was born and he has never had an issue. Huggies changes their formula mid July 2025 and hes had nothing but rashes looking more like chemical burns since then. I have taken him to the doctor several times and have tried countless creams to make my baby more comfortable only to find out a product (Little Snugglers) we had been using his ENTIRE life was the culprit. We will be discontinuing our use of Huggies. Shame on Huggies for making changes without letting the public know. How many babies are suffering and parents exhausted trying to find out what is causing the problem?

The product, in the report: My son developed a severe skin reaction after using Huggies Snug & Dry diapers purchased in the white packaging from CVS. Within one hour of first wearing the diaper, he developed what appeared to be a chemical burn on his genital area and buttocks. The affected skin became red, irritated, and painful to the touch. He was visibly uncomfortable, crying continuously, and had difficulty sleeping due to the pain. Initially, I attributed the irritation to a possible reaction to his recent transition to milk, believing it might have been dietary or digestive in nature. To test this, I immediately switched him to a different diaper brand, and the rash completely cleared up within a short period of time. Reoccurrence Approximately three months later, I still had the same pack of Huggies Snug & Dry diapers remaining. Since my son had by then fully adjusted to milk with no skin sensitivities or digestive issues, I decided to try using the same diapers again, assuming the previous incident was unrelated. However, within just a few hours of wearing the diaper, my son once again developed a severe burn-like rash on the same areashis genitalia and buttocks. The reaction was immediate and distressing. He screamed in pain, was unable to sleep, and required frequent diaper changes and soothing care to manage his discomfort.

What happened: On 10/10/25 my 4-month-old son developed a severe diaper rash after using the new Huggies Snug & Dry diapers that come in the white package. We had been using Huggies and other brands prior to this package change without any issues, but after switching to this new box, we noticed redness appearing within hours of wearing the diapers. The rash quickly worsened and his skin became bright red, inflamed, and started to look raw, especially where the diaper contacted his inner thighs and lower buttocks. The only product in contact with his skin was this new diaper; no new wipes, creams, or detergents were introduced. He was changed frequently (about every 2-3 hours) and cleaned gently with water wipes that weve been using since day 1. The rash looked almost like a burn. We immediately discontinued use, switched to another brand, and the rash began to heal within 24-48 hours. The reaction caused our baby visible major discomfort with crying and screaming at the top of his lungs during diaper changes and major increased fussiness. We believe this reaction was caused by something in the new formulation or liner of the white-packaged Snug & Dry diapers. No medical attention was required beyond home care and applying zinc-oxide cream, but the severity of the rash and rapid onset prompted this report. We will be sharing photos with our pediatrician and asking for advice.

Subject: Urgent Safety Concern Regarding Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers and Severe Red Burn Reaction

    Dear Kimberly-Clark Team,

I am writing to report a recurring and deeply concerning issue involving your Huggies Snug & Dry Size 5 diapers. Our 15-month-old baby has experienced repeated severe diaper burns this week after we just opened a new box of diapers. At first we were assuming this was just a rash. But upon closer inspection, we took note that this is obviously no rash. The reactions occurred despite our careful hygiene practices including frequent diaper changes, avoiding wipes, and using warm baths to soothe the skin.

After researching online, we discovered multiple reports from other parents describing similar reactions allegedly linked to Huggies diapers:

    1. Report of chemical burn-like rash from Huggies Little Movers [REDACTED]

    2. Parent complaint about rash and raw skin after switching to new Huggies batch [REDACTED]

    3. Class action alleging chemical burns from Huggies diapers [REDACTED]

To mitigate the burn, we applied [REDACTED] Butt Paste and inserted a double-layered paper towel between the diaper and our babys skin before putting our baby in the crib for the night. When the baby woke up he did not urinate during the night as his diaper was dry. But amazingly, the burn was 100% completely gone. This method led to rapid healing overnight. Needless to say, I did not know there is a helpful visual guide that demonstrates this remedy when addressing rashes in general. [REDACTED]

But to reiterate my complaint, we were not dealing with the rash we were dealing with a reddish chemical burn appearance.

When we repeated the paper towel buffer method this morning, as the baby would obviously need to urinate, the paper towel interfered with urine absorption, and a new red spot appeared in an area not covered by the paper towel buffer. This observation occurred within 5 minutes after changing our baby’s diaper from last night as we wanted to apply a new layer of paste. This suggests a possible reaction to the diaper material itself. Our ultimate solution at this point is to change to a different diaper product.

    We respectfully request the following:

A formal investigation into this issue. Disclosure of all chemical components used in Huggies Snug & Dry diapers. Product recall.

We are also submitting a consumer product safety complaint via the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission: https://www.saferproducts.gov/

    Sincerely, [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

I have been using Huggies little movers for 14 months. Recently my son experienced chemical burns on his butt and upper/inner thighs. This is caused by the blue liner that was recently changed in the diapers. Huggies never informed anyone this was going to change.i experimented and switched diaper brands until the burn healed and then tried a Huggies diaper again and within 2 hours my son experienced a chemical burn again.

My boys started to get a rash and at first I thought it was just a normal diaper rash. Then it progressed to a chemical burn type rash. I realized it was the Huggies diapers they have been using. My babies rashes were so bad it was eating their skin away and bleeding and I couldnt even wipe them. They had to get in a bath to somewhat soothe their bottoms. It wasnt until I learned Huggies changed their formula that it was the diapers. I have only ever used Huggies brand for all 3 of my kiddos and swore my Huggies (my oldest is 6, my youngest is 13month) but this is very disappointing and its hard for us to swap diapers because my babies react bad to most other diapers. Huggies was the only brand they could use but not anymore.

My daughter has been using Huggies since she was born. Shes now 2 1/2 and we have been using the night time diapers for over a year now. I recently bought a box from target and they had the blue lining on the inside. First week using them i noticed a little rash but nothing crazy. Tonight before bed my daughter was hysterically crying and kept pointing at her diaper saying it hurt. I took her diaper off and you can see a perfect outline of the diaper and a very pain rash/burn. I love Huggies but we wont be taking them anymore.

I didnt pay any attention to it until my son started having MULTIPLE diaper rashes that looked like he was burned/scolded. I couldnt figure out the cause until I finally switched to a different brand diaper without the blue dye. His rash instantly cleared up and I have not had anymore issues since switching. Ive seen numerous other parents complaining of the same issue with the new Huggies diapers. This needs to be fixed! Our babies are suffering.

My 18 month son has been breaking out with really bad rashes where his diaper is at. He has gotten small blisters and lesions as well as feeling itchy. I have been using Huggies diapers for a while now he has not had any issues as bad as this with any brand of diapers giving him rashes until recently. I have used butt paste that usually takes away and clears up any kind of irritation he has had within 1-3 days. However, butt paste is not working for this irritation he has had for a month or so. I then realized a lot of moms have been talking about how Huggies along with some other diaper brands have changed their products and they now have blue dye in them. My son specifically has been using the Huggies little movers brand and they do have blue dye in them which has possibly been causing a chemical burn.

    plaint narrative, you might say:

While Huggies diapers are promoted as skinfriendly and ultraabsorbent, multiple class-action suits and anecdotal reports suggest that certain batches or linesparticularly Snug & Drymay cause severe skin reactions, including blistering, peeling, or chemical-burn-like rashes in sensitive infants. Symptoms reportedly resolve when switching brands. That said, many families use Huggies without incident. Still, if your child develops an unexplained diaper-area rash, consider discontinuing Huggies and consult a pediatrician.

I have purchased Huggies diapers for my son for 9 months and recently they added a blue liner in the diaper. The change in diaper quality caused my son to get a rash that turned raw and was bleeding. We had to get prescribed ointment, mupirocin, to prevent staph infection due to his wounds. This started with Huggies snug and dry diapers and I switched to Huggies little movers and thats when the rash started bleeding. I then switched to a completely different brand separate to Huggies and his rash cleared within a day. The manufacture date is not available on packaging, so I called the number on the box and they said they cannot give out that information. I explained it was for this and they doubled down and said sorry we cant help you.

The product, in the report: Huggies little movers with the blue lining

Huggies has diapers that are a little movers and they are causing rashes. I reached out to the company and told them not only am my experiencing problems but lots of people on [REDACTED] are too. I told him I returned the two boxes of diapers to target and Ive been tagging them in tons of videos, but I dont think theyre willing to take this to the level of where this needs to become a voluntary recall.

The product, in the report: Huggies little movers, size 5 and 6, lion king print on them, Winnie the Pooh print on them.

My baby always used Huggies (the one with [REDACTED] on them) but then Huggies changed them (new ones had a [REDACTED] on them) and it gave my son a very bad rash in his bottom. His rash was a chemical rash. This rash lasted consistently for about 2 months. The suffered so much and we just couldnt make it go away. After making trial error decision like changing his formula and wipes etc. The last thing we changed was the diapers. His rash went away within two weeks. Huggies is unsafe at the moment.

The product, in the report: Huggies little movers size 3 (76 count) size 4 (66 count)

We bought Huggies diapers size 3 and size 4 for our toddler and baby. We had already been made aware of some changes but didnt think much about it. We have been buying Huggies for 18 months for our toddler and 6 months for our baby. After using the new box I noticed some rashes on my toddlers bum and 3 days into using the diapers my baby is completely full of rashes all over his body. We are taking him to the doctor tomorrow. Doctor recommended we give him [REDACTED] for 24 hours and see if that helps. Our 6 month has rashes mainly in the diaper area but her reaction was less severe than our toddler.

After Huggies switched to the new diapers, my children have experienced chemical burns. Multiple trips to the doctors and finally have answers, the diapers. Having 2 children in diapers is expensive, but its even more expensive when the diapers are giving my children chemical burns.

The product, in the report: The diaper brand thats causing massive leaks ,& bad allergy reactions/burns are the new Huggies little movers and the Huggies little movers plus sold at Costco . Weve run into the same issue from size 4-7.

Weve been using Huggies brand diapers since 2019 with my 1st child never had any issues until the end of 2023 when my 2nd child starting having chemical burns to the little movers AND the snug n dry type.. I thought it was her until I had my 3rd child in late 2024 and yet again the diapers gave him rashes , they leak all the time and they added a new blue inner lining which is not disclosed as to why they added that ink into the diapers .. regardless the diapers have given mine rashes , they leak badly and are so so different from 2019-2023.. being back the OLD manufacturing process and get rid of these bad and leaky Huggies .

Ive been using Huggies diapers for the last 7 weeks, the ones from the hospital and a few other boxes I used were perfect, more this box Im using is giving my son a rash on his bum and a weird burn around his privates. Theyre also stringy when you pull the tabs off as in pulling the diaper fabric with it. The good ones did NOT have the blue lining on the inside.

The product, in the report: Huggies Little Movers Diapers - ALL SIZES Huggies Overnites - ALL SIZES Other Huggies diaper products

BABY PRODUCT. Huggies Diapers now have a new blue lining in them causing babies to get rashes and chemical burns. I have been using Huggies diapers on my son since he was a newborn. All of a sudden he started getting bright red rashes and openings along the inside of his legs and lower back where the edge of his diaper is. After looking into the new design of Huggies diapers I noticed that other parents are having the same issues. After discontinuing use of these diapers and treating the rash/openings, his skin was almost completely healed. The daytime and nighttime diapers were both changed to this blue liner. If you look on the Huggies website in the comments or on target under the comment section there are hundreds of parents stating that these diapers are suddenly harming there babies and Huggies is commenting that there are no chemicals in the product. There is no way that this is a coincidence though. It also concerns me that many hospitals use Huggies on there L&D floors and NICU departments. Please look into this.
