The product, in the report: whirlpool duet washer model GWH950PW0
We have black mold growing inside our Whirlpool Duet washing machine GWH950PW0. Complaints and cleaning solutions and products found everywhere online referencing moldy clothes are not helping. An ongoing class action lawsuit is not protecting the consumers. This is a serious and expensive issue with no solution. The product needs to be recalled.

No one hurt Made Jun 3, 2011, published by CPSC Jul 28, 2011
The product, in the report: Front Loader washing machine
The washing machine is used approximately six months out of a year. While starting a regular washing machine, he heard a loud racket noise and went to discover the machine had knocked itself off of the platform.
The machine had collapsed because of 1 shock absorber, but was still operating, causing damage to a wall and ceramic tile floor (which must be replaced). If no one shut off the machine manually, more damage would have occured, ergo it makes no defense that the machine should not be placed on a platform, also considering that the door to the washer is approximately 13” from floor. Upon contacting manufacturer, consumer was informed that all other machines they manufacture have an off-balance switch, this one does not.
Consumer placed the unit on a platform that he made. He contacted the firm and was advised that they were aware of the machine being unbalanced and able to bounce about. He was also advised that the machine was not to be placed on a platform.
When purchased with dryer they were on a platform leading him to believe that was ok. He then placed the machine back onto the platform (the platform is made out of solid oak wood) and he has the machine tied down with a rope to prevent it from moving off of the platform.

No one hurt Made Apr 26, 2011, sent to the company May 15, 2012, published by CPSC May 30, 2012
The product, in the report: Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine front load
We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine in 2006 and we have noticed a large amount of mold build-up in the boot of the washer. So far we have tried everything to remove the mold but we are having no luck in removing the mold or the mildew smell. I believe this is a serious health issue because of the mold and the spores being released into our “clean” laundry.
