  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 7, 2026, sent to the company Oct 13, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 27, 2026

The product, in the report: Ktaxon Portable Jerry Can 20L 5Gal Capacity, Emergency Backup Fuel Container, Army Green... Ktaxon Portable Jerry Can 5L 1.32Gal Capacity, Emergency Backup Fuel Container, Army Green...

Walmart Order# [REDACTED] Imported metal Gasoline cans need to be recalled for a full refund including damages. Gasoline cans that are dangerous. Recently purchased in 2024 and already failed.

Always carefully handling, filling at the Sam’s Club fuel station for my zero turn lawn mower. Now only 2 years later, when at home placed in building with gasoline powered equipment. Days later found cans almost empty, with gasoline all over the floor. The smaller can had lost most but had more than the larger can. Both were completely filled. When approaching the building there was a strong gasoline smell. When slowly opening the door found fuel on the floor. A mess that flowed into my new sneakers. When lifting the can more spilled onto sneakers, socks, pants, etc. Not possible to clean gasoline smell from clothing all needs replacing. Worse my skin absorbed a large amount of gasoline.

Was one small spark away from disaster.

I demand a total refund for both garbage gasoline cans, the gasoline itself, cleanup, new sneakers, socks and pants at a minimum.

This is a big deal for good reason, to prevent injury, death and property damage and tremendous legal battles for other people.

The product is not suitable for sale in any country. Remove this junk now! I know of cans that are over 50 years old and are still fine because approved for sale and are good quality military grade stainless steel or heavy gauge galvanized good quality steel. Proper materials can still hold fuel just fine for decades.

  2. No one hurt

Made May 23, 2026, sent to the company May 28, 2026, published by CPSC Jun 11, 2026

The product, in the report: Ktaxon Portable Jerry Can 20L 5Gal Capacity, Emergency Backup Fuel Container, Army Green, US Standard

I purchased a 20L metal Jerry can intended for gasoline storage. During normal use and storage, the container significantly deformed/expanded and began leaking gasoline from the body/seam area. The failure created a serious fire and safety hazard due to gasoline leakage.

The product was not modified and was being used for its intended purpose as a fuel container. The deformation appeared excessive and abnormal for a gasoline storage can. Photos documenting the deformation and leak area are attached.

Because this is a gasoline container, the structural failure and fuel leakage could potentially result in fire, explosion, injury, or property damage. I am submitting this report so the product and similar units can be reviewed for possible safety defects.

The seller offered a refund and requested return of the item. The product will no longer be used due to safety concerns.
