The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 9, 2025, sent to the company Feb 12, 2025, published by CPSC Feb 27, 2025

The product, in the report: 2.5 gallon gas can

Couldn’t read the instructions because when i peeled the label back the instruction print was stuck to the label. I have a photograph if needed. After reading the instruction about pressing the green know with the spout turned away form me to release built up pressure I tried to dispense gas by pressing the green button in all the way. No gas came out no matter which position I turned the nozzle to. I managed to remove the cap by using a screwdriver to press the tab to release the serrated lock. Once the supposed easy pour spout was removed it was impossible to pour gas from the can without spilling some. the gas trickled down the side of the gas can onto the area outside my garage.

The product, in the report: Red Five Gallon “Easy Can” Plastic gas can.

Gas can started leaking while stored in enclosed attached garage. This was a Red 5 Gallon No-Spill plastic gas can. The can was sitting on top of a cabinet in the garage. It had between 3 and 4 gallons of alcohol free gas in it. No one was injuried since it was discovered leaking before a fire was started.

The product, in the report: Red gas can. 5.3 gallons

Earlier this year, I bought an Easy Can gasoline can (5.3 gallons). It was stored in my shed, with only a small fraction of gas left inside of it. After sticking the spout inside my lawn mower, with the tab resting on the brim, I pressed the button on the can that’s for releasing the gasoline. There must’ve been a lot of built-up pressure for some reason because the gasoline suddenly sprayed back up at my face, like a pop can will do if you shake it before opening it. I closed my eyes but may have gotten gas and/or gas fumes in my eyes. Immediately, I wiped my eyes with a rag and went inside my house and rinsed them with water.
