No one hurt Made Aug 24, 2026, sent to the company Aug 27, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 14, 2026
The product, in the report: Product Class: Electric Wax Melt Warmer Manufacturer: Scentsy, Inc. (Meridian, Idaho) Model Number: 1112-23134 (Bronze Broad Base) Product Name: Cream Tulip Lampshade Warmer
The electrical socket on the plug-in wax warmer suffered a severe manufacturing defect/electrical short during standard operation. The failure generated excessive heat that actively melted the metal and plastic base of the lightbulb inside the unit, creating an immediate fire and safety hazard. Use of the product had to be permanently discontinued to prevent a household fire. The manufacturer was contacted directly under Ticket #[REDACTED]. The manufacturer verified the product’s identity and the severe safety failure but refused to properly honor their Lifetime Safety/Replacement Warranty. Instead, they demanded that I physically destroy the safety evidence (by cutting the power cord) in exchange for an inadequate 18-dollar clearance credit that fails to replace the utility or class of the defective full-size warmer. I retained the intact physical evidence for federal safety review.

The product, in the report: Solid white scents warmer. It has engraved snowflakes and snowflake cutouts on it.
I had scents warmer on bedside table. I turned it on and walked out of room about 10ft let my dogs outside turned around heard gurgling and poppin. I walked back into bedroom and it was on fire!! The flames were about 12inches high I ran over and unplugged it. When it quit burning I took it to the kitchen. It was an electrical fire inside the warmer. If I wouldn’t have been home it would have burned down my house.

The product, in the report: scented wax warming lamp Item has no model or serial number, see photos
Our Scentsy melting dish exploded in fire last night, the inside is all black and it burned a hole thru the bottom burned the doily and table top under it. The wiring under the bulb socket shorted out and melted the wires. I immediately contacted Scentsy via email and was sent an automated response stating that Sentdy would be in contact within 2 business days, to date iv NOT heard from them. I truly believe this is a fire safety issue that needs to be addressed promptly! I have pictures but your web site is not allowing me to use my Ipad. Thank you, [REDACTED]

Hospital admission Made Nov 20, 2013, sent to the company Nov 29, 2013, published by CPSC Dec 20, 2013
The product, in the report: Scentsy wax fragrance warmer.
Ok, I have to share this because I have several scented-wax warmers (mine are Scentsy) and had no idea how dangerous they could be. Last week my 2-year-old niece [REDACTED] was chasing her kitty under the kitchen table and got tangled in the Scentsy cord that was plugged in. The Scentsy tipped over, and the wax spilled and ran off the table onto [REDACTED] ‘s neck and back. She has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her scalp, neck and back, which may need skin grafting in order to heal. She will certainly be scarred. In many of the Scentsy faq’s it says “The wax temperature is very low, just above body temperature. The wax never gets hot enough to burn anyone so it is completely safe around pets and kids.” I put the candy thermometer in mine just to see how hot it was and it read 140 degrees F. That’s hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns in 5 seconds. There needs to be warnings about burns on the Scentsy warmers like there are on some other brands.
