The product, in the report: Cupcakes and Cashmere at Home Candle Warmer. Black with ribbed glass shade. The product is a small electric candle warmer designed to heat candles without using a flame. The product was purchased new from TJ Maxx. SKU: 440349. Purchase price: 19.99. The product packaging states that it was manufactured in China. The candle warmer was taken by the Quincy Fire Department following the fire, so I no longer have the physical product available to provide its exact dimensions

My roommate and I were using a Cupcakes and Cashmere at Home Candle Warmer in our apartment purchased from TJ Maxx in Quincy. The purchase was made on 9/28/26. The candle warmer was being used as intended to heat a candle on 9/29/26.

While the candle warmer was in use, it began making a strange noise and started smoking. Almost immediately afterward, the unit caught on fire. The Quincy Fire Department responded to my apartment and addressed the fire. The candle warmer was taken by the fire department.

No physical injuries occurred to me or my roommate as a result of the incident. However, the fire created a risk of injury, and the incident caused damage to my desk, wall, and electrical outlet, as well as visible smoke and burn damage in the surrounding area. There was also a strong chemical smell in the air following the fire.
