The product, in the report: Napa pourable gel fuel

I was in our garage/recreation room. On the table was the fire pot which we had received as a gift about a week prior to the accident. The flame was out and my boyfriend was adding fuel to the pot. The bottle exploded out of his hands and hit the wall. Suddenly I realized that I was in flames. My boyfriend and a neighbor helped get me on the ground and put out the flames. We called 911.

The product, in the report: Napa Fire Gel

On April 30, I attended a supper club where we were visiting at a patio table on the host and hostesses back patio. The hostess had a beautiful ceramic pot which she had received as a wedding gift. The pot was filled with a gel fuel made by Napa Fire. The “candle” fuel burned down during the evening and she refilled it later in the evening. Upon refilling it, the fuel exploded into a fireball which hit me in my face and must have rolled down my body. I was so concerned about my face that I did not realize that my left leg was on fire. My husband and the host threw me to the ground and rolled me while slapping the fire out on my leg. By the grace of God, my face did not burn and I washed and washed the gel off my face, out of my eyes, and out of my mouth. I was absolutely distraught and it was the scariest thing that ever happened to me. As I did go into shock, my husband took me on to our local hospital, Spartanburg Regional, and they treated my burns on my legs which were only 2nd degree burns and not 3rd degree. We and all the guests assumed it was a freak accident until another friend was terribly burned in Spartanburg, SC about 4 weeks later and airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center in Georgia. We also have been contacted that another lady from Greenville, SC was terribly burned at the beginning of May by the same product when her husband was filling the pot. She also had to go to the Augusta Burn center. Please, please get this terrible product off the market! It is being sold in so many gift stores and markets. In my situation it was a small pot. I have heard there are very large ones and cannot imagine the damage they will do to someone.
