The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Jan 8, 2020, sent to the company Feb 4, 2020, published by CPSC Feb 19, 2020

The product, in the report: 1 quart container of paint

The consumer said that this particular brand of paint did not have any warnings about high VOC’s or list any of the ingredients.

The consumer purchased the paint and brought it home. No colors were added at the retailer.

He did not feel well and experienced a foggy memory. The consumer began to experience these symptoms, while painting and a few hours after using it. The consumer considered seeing a doctor, but wasn’t sure if they could cure his symptoms. He was feeling better by the next day.

The consumer also noted that the paint has no odor, but has an accelerator that ages the wood.

The consumer estimates that he used the paint for an hour or less and that he had windows opened at the time of the incident.

He called the mfr., but wasn’t able to get a live rep. However, he will try to contact them again.

The consumer is concerned that the paint regulations may have changed, because he had seen different manufacturer’s brands of paint, where the ingredients were not listed. He discovered this primarily in 2019 and returned some of them due to the lack of labeling.
