  1. No one hurt

Made May 11, 2012, sent to the company May 18, 2012, published by CPSC Jun 4, 2012

The product, in the report: Krylon Triple-thick Crystal Clear Glaze 12 oz. spray can Bar code; 0 7557 00500 0

Had a can of Krylon Clear Glaze on work bench, and went back some time later to find it had leaked and stuck itself to the bench and damaging the bench top. Thought it may have just been an old can so bought 3 more from Michael’s Crafts. Put the cans into storage drawer in basement till needed. Not long later came home to find paint smell in the house but had not been painting. Found basement filled with fumes to the extent it was difficult to get air, and discovered 2 Krylon cans had leaked, filling bottom of drawer with liquid glaze. By chance I had shut off the furnace before I went to work or I believe I would have come home to find it had exploded from the fumes, or had been destroyed by fire! I contacted Krylon about the problem and they only said they would replace the products if I supplied them with my information and the numbers from the bottoms of the cans. I supplied the information requested and said I could send a can back if they wished to examine it to determine the problem. It has been some months and I have not heard from Krylon nor did they ever send replacements. If I had not shut down my furnace I am sure I would no have a house. Not only was there the fire or explosion danger but I am sure the basement filled with fumes was a health danger as well.
