The product, in the report: A small plastic squeeze bottle of Gibson Luthiers Choice guitar polish.
I was preparing to polish my Gibson guitar. I was going to use the Gibson Lutier’s Choice High Gloss polish since it is compatible with Gibson’s unique finish. The bottle stated that the contents contained a petroleum distillate. Following the displayed instructions I shook the bottle and then attempted to squeeze a small amount onto the surface of the guitar. Suddenly, my eyes and face were flooded with the polish as the plastic squeeze bottle had seemingly exploded in my hand. The bottle had apparently become brittle over time. I contacted the poison control center and followed their instructions for eye wash procedures. They were unable as was I to find a material data safety sheet to identify the type of petroleum distillate in the polish or any otheringredients.
