Hurt, no treatment Made Jun 5, 2013, sent to the company Jun 28, 2013, published by CPSC Jul 22, 2013
The product, in the report: multi-surface and floor cleaner, citrus and fresh scent (40 ounce package)
The consumer poured approximately 3 ounces of the cleaner into a 1 gallon bucket of water. He used the mixture to clean some lawn furniture, for approximately 20 minutes. Approximately 3 hours later, the consumer’s hands became irritated and reddened in color.
The consumer noted that he had a small cut on his finger, so this may have contributed to his reaction. The following morning, the consumer took a couple [REDACTED] pills and later that day, his symptoms were gone.
(6/3/2013) The consumer sent the manufacturer and email about this incident and shared his concerns with them, but he never received a response.
On the front of the product’s label, it indicates that it is family and pet friendly, no harsh fumes. However, in small print, it also has a WARNING: Eye and skin irritant, may be harmful if swallowed. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Read caution on back.
The consumer said that the information on the product is contradictory and that if someone were to use the product based on the family and pet friendly information, they could sustain injuries or experience an allergic reaction.
NOTE: This is the first time that the consumer has used this manufacturer’s brand of cleaner.
