Hurt, care not known Made Oct 24, 2024, sent to the company Oct 29, 2024, published by CPSC Nov 13, 2024
The product, in the report: Pine Sol multi-Surface Cleaner 80 oz bottle. No protective seal!
I purchased a large bottle of Pine Sol at Ace Hardware and it spilled all over the front floor of my car. There is not a safety seal on their bottles and the cap was not even tightly closed. I thought that was so strange for such strong cleaner with a strong odor, so I went to Home Depot to purchase another one, since mine was completely empty, and again, no seal and loosely capped. Crazy! The smell is so strong that I had to have my car detailed twice, and it still has a strong odor. I am allergic to chemical/cleaning smells and only use organic cleaners in my house. I only bought Pine Sol becuase I read that flies do not like that smell so I spray it around my trash and yard waste bins in the summer. I contacted Pine Sol and they only offered a refund if I sent them the reciept, which I no longer had. I am out $150 for the car detailing and the lingering odor makes me cough and makes my eyes water. Even the least harmful products, such as many of my cosmetics have a protective seal!

First aid Made Nov 9, 2019, sent to the company Dec 11, 2019, published by CPSC Jan 3, 2020
The product, in the report: Pine-Sol cleaner
I have a severe Methylisothiazolinone allergy. Today I purchased both [REDACTED] detergent and Pine-Sol. I used both products when cleaning my house. There is nothing on the Pine-Sol label or the [REDACTED} label that warns that the products contain Methylisothiazolinone or any of its sister formulations. I have gone into allergic shock, and am experiencing an allergic skin reaction all over my face, lips, and eyelids. It is both painful and disfiguring. Any product that contains Methylisothiazolinone or any of its sister formulations needs to be CLEARLY labeled with such information, so consumers can avoid it.
