The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Mr. Clean 2x Concentrated All Purpose Cleaner / Cleaning Liquid Scent: Unstopables

I am writing to formally report a life-threatening safety hazard regarding Mr. Clean 2x Concentrated All Purpose Cleaner (Unstopables Scent), manufactured by Procter & Gamble. Product Details: Product Name: Mr. Clean 2x Concentrated All Purpose Cleaner / Cleaning Liquid Scent: Unstopables Barcode/UPC: 3077218552 Description of Hazard: The current labeling is dangerously inadequate. While the front of the bottle prominently displays “2x Concentrated,” the critical instruction to dilute before use is relegated to small print. When used undilutedas occurred at my workplacethis product off-gasses hazardous chemicals that do not easily dissipate, especially in non-ventilated areas like bathrooms. Injury/Incident Details: Medical Emergency: I have been forced to visit the Emergency Room multiple times, most recently on April 4, 2026, due to anaphylaxis and throat closure caused by exposure to this product. Long-term Impact: I have developed severe chemical hypersensitivity that has rendered me unable to work for weeks. Expert Verification: Poison Control has confirmed that the ingredients in this concentrated formula are known causes of these severe respiratory and allergic reactions when not properly diluted. Requested Action: I am requesting that the CPSC investigate this product for a mandatory labeling change or recall. The “Dilute Before Use” instruction must be as clear and prominent as the “2x Concentration” branding. Consumers and cleaning staff are currently at risk of permanent respiratory damage or death due to the lack of a conspicuous warning. I have retained the product bottle and medical documentation for your investigation.

The product, in the report: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2 in 1 with [REDACTED] Lavender - 11 magic erasers-sponge

Mr Clean Bath Magic Eraser - caused swollen lips, hives and anaphylactic allergic reaction without touching product. The magic erasers were still in the box stored in the bathroom. I had experienced continuous reactions for 2 weeks before realizing the product was the culprit. After removing the box of product from my bathroom cabinet, my allergic reactions stopped. This product is dangerous as it caused a life threatening allergic reaction without even touching the product but by continuous exposure to the scent/fragrance in the product. My anaphylactic symptoms were mild. My throat was swollen and I lost my voice. I also had whole body hives and swollen lips. This happened on and off throughout the whole 2 weeks of exposure as my bathroom is next to my bedroom. This product is dangerous as it can be life threatening to people who are sensitive to the chemicals used to create the cleaner & fragrance/scent.

The product, in the report: Mr Clean Concentrated Multi Purpose Cleaner (I have a picture of the product but this form won’t allow me to upload the picture)

I am a toxicologist at the poison center and was called last evening on a pediatric ingestion to: Mr Clean Concentrated Multi-Purpose Cleaner without any child protective labeling. The child did fine but the ease of the container opening is worrisome

The product, in the report: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Cleaning Agent

The regional poison center for the state of NJ received 2 telephone calls in one day about a product exposure, Mr Clean Magic Eraser. In both cases the victim attempted to remove ink from his and her skin. Granted this is not listed as an indication for its use, but the package also doesn’t say it cannot be used for this. The label apparently does not warn about avoiding contact with skin and advertisement video shows user preparing the sponge and using it without gloves.
