  1. Hurt, care not known

Made Jun 29, 2021, sent to the company Dec 1, 2021, published by CPSC Dec 15, 2021

The product, in the report: Cleaning tablets

Caller stated that she purchased the cleaning product online, however, when she received the package and opened it the residue that dispersed from it caused respiratory problems, burning and stinging of her hands and arms. Caller stated that the label stated that the product is recommended for Laboratory use. Caller stated that the Material Data Sheet indicates that the chemicals are dangerous for consumers to inhale. Caller stated that she has cautiously stored the product outside due to the health hazard it causes. She stated that she does not have the name of the company only an address and phone number.

My exposure was an undetectable, trace amount of chemicals. Apparently inside of packaging mailer and/or boxes of tablets. Tablets are in wrappers with ends sealed (?) by crimping.

Sudden severe burning shortly after opening mailer. I damaged nothing, opened carefully. Burning felt like hot needles penetrating my forearms & back of my hands. Had to run to sink to wash it off (water). Returned to my desk & it began burning again. Had to use soap to stop it. Shortly after I called the return phone # on package and found I had almost completely lost my voice. She told me to return it but I’m afraid to touch it. Next morning inside corner of my right eye was bleeding underneath skin. I drank 2 glasses of water & used homeopathic for (al) allergy, (cb) cough bronchial and (asm) asthma. Coughed up mucus finally slowed by July 7. But still occasional. Flared up asthma. Breathing has slowly gotten better. Voice still cracked if I talk too long. Hope is gets better.
