The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Death

Made Apr 22, 2020, sent to the company May 12, 2020, published by CPSC May 27, 2020

The product, in the report: Keyboard Duster, canned air specifically 1,1-difluoroethane,

1,1-difluoroethane and ethanol are the cause of my fathers death. My father was a Chemical engineer with a distinguished career and who was also an avid nerd. he was not a drug user and he would never have used this product any other way then labeled. He was found in his office slumped forward with a can of computer duster clutched in his left hand. His office was ventilated and he even had an exhaust fan installed in the wall for him to use paint products indoors. His blood alcohol level was 0.06. He had extensive experience using this type of product. He was only 57 years old when he passed away. I am begging for an investigation into these products safety and why there are still widely available and used in this country when there are so many safe alternatives. My father was my person in this world since his death I am left feeling like this could have been prevented. Please make this product illegal
