  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 28, 2025, sent to the company Mar 5, 2025, published by CPSC Mar 19, 2025

The product, in the report: Dryer Sheets: Free & Clear Unscented Laundry Fabric Softener Sheets - Reduces Wrinkles - Controls Static - Softens Fabric (480 Count) PREMIUM FABRIC SOFTENER: Leaves fabrics feeling soft & smooth while keeping your clothes smelling fresh & clean without the use of dyes, fragrances or perfumes.

What happened that made you want to report? The product is advertised as Free & Clear, implying it contains no fragrances. However, after use, my wife, who is allergic to fragrances, broke out in hives all over her body. Checking the ingredients, we discovered multiple fragrance allergens listed, contradicting the marketing. This misleading labeling poses a serious health risk.

What type of product(s) were being used? Dryer sheets (Home Victory Free & Gentle Dryer Sheets, 480 count).

Who was using the product(s)? My wife was affected after our laundry was dried with these sheets.

How were the product(s) being used? The dryer sheets were used as directed in our home dryer while laundering clothes.

Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? Yes, my wife had an allergic reaction, breaking out in hives all over her body.

How did any injuries occur? The product contains fragrance allergens despite being marketed as Free & Clear. The advertisement states there is no fragrance, yet the packaging lists multiple fragrance allergens. My wife has a fragrance allergy, and wearing clothes dried with these sheets triggered a severe skin reaction, causing hives all over her body.
