  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 23, 2023, sent to the company Feb 28, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 14, 2023

The product, in the report: The product is a dryer tissue containing a fabric softener. The product is stated to be 100% free of dyes and perfumes and to reduce “static cling”. Instructions are generally to use 1 tissue per dryer load. I asked the distributor (Henkel Corporation) to email me the Safety Data Sheet. They sent it: “[REDACTED]” on the lower left-hand corner of each page; Issue Date 10-19-2021, Revision Number: [REDACTED]. The product identifier is shown as “all Free Clear Dryer Sheets”. Under “11. Toxicological Information” is shown as a hazardous component “Quaternary Ammonium salt. It is listed as the only ingredient on the box of dryer tissues.

I purchased “All Dryer Sheets - free & clear” and used one of them in our clothes dryer to dry our bed sheets. One night of sleeping on these All Dryer Sheet- free & clear” dried bed sheets resulted in red, itchy, quarter inch to three-quarter inch bumps on my back about waist level (left side, right side and in the middle of my back). I realized immediately that this immune reaction must have been due to my skin being in touch with the bed sheets that had been dried with an “All Dryer Sheet free & clear”. I washed the sheets twice to get rid of whatever the “All Dryer Sheet free & clear” had deposited on our bed sheets. I called the manufacturer of the “All Dryer Sheets free & clear “, Henkel Corporation, to report this event. It took a month for all the bumps to fade from being red, to quit itching, and to heal.
