Emergency room Made Mar 14, 2023, sent to the company Mar 17, 2023, published by CPSC Apr 3, 2023
The product, in the report: Cascade Platinum Detergent Pods. They are approx 1-1.5” cubes of dissolvable plastic. ~80% of the container is full of powdered dishwashing detergent. The top portion contains 3 separate liquids (blue, purple, and green).
I suffered a chemical burn to my right eye from liquid from Cascade Platinum Detergent Pods. I was getting a pod to place in my dishwasher. Two pods were stuck together and when I pulled them apart, one of the liquid compartments on top of the pod burst and the liquid shot into my eye. I needed to seek medical attention at urgent care after rinsing of my eye with water did not fix the problem. I suffered temporary vision loss in that eye for approx 8 days. I missed 3 days of work. I did fully recover my vision.
